WELCOME TO MY BLOG

My name is Jessi and I'm here to spread the LOVEEE😘🥳 WOOO!!

I have been a humongous fan of trolls since 2016 (except for the two month break that I took when I was a HUGE HTTYD fan- don't ask) and I mostly just post little silly trolls scenarios!

Here are the things that I can do:

Answer Questions- I love to answer questions about Trolls and other movies I love to watch, so don't be shy to ask my opinions!

Blab about Branch for about a bajillion hours- he's my favorite character OF ALL TIME and I was so happy when TBT was centered around him 😭🥹

Write fanfictions, though I would prefer to do that on my new blog, @jessi4fanfics (i just made it about ten seconds ago, so there's nothing there yet, lol)

I will take suggestions on stuff, and if you beg me to show you my handmade drawings of Human Broppy AU, I MIGHT show you, but it's not digital or anything, and I'm more of a writer than artist, so maybe that's not something you should do 😘🤣

WRITE ANYTHING BROPPY OR BROZONE I LOVE THEM SO MUCH EEEEE I am also a huge Cliva fan too, so if y'all come up with any ideas, I'm here to share them with

MESSAGING Y'ALL IS TOTALLY SOMETHING I'D LOVE TO DO, so if you wanna ask me something personal, for a suggestion, or just wanna say hi and blab about DreamWorks and Disney, I'm here to do so, as long as you don't talk inappropriately or anything.

Here are the things I CANNOT do:

I am a Christian, so if you ask me to write anything that is against what I believe, I will kindly tell you I cannot do that, but don't worry I won't bite ur head off or anything XD, I'm def not that kind of person.

I am absolutely not writing any LGBTQ+ content. I am not homophobic or transphobic and I know majority of people support all of it, but I do want to respect the small bit of people who don't, so I am not writing so I can respect what others say and think. ♥️♥️♥️

I won't talk about war or any of that kind of stuff also for the reasons of people having different opinions. I don't want to ruin friendships with anyone, and I hate it when that happens just because you don't agree on something. For both this and LGBTQ I also want younger viewers to be able to read my stuff, and sometimes when it comes to that stuff, they may be exposed to stuff they shouldn't be at a young age.

I am not writing anything too mature or inappropriate for younger readers- that includes smut, swearing, and make outs (tho I do write butt jokes WAHAHA U CAN'T STOP ME FROM DOING THAT)

I am not AT ALL putting ANY hate on anyone. I believe that everyone should be who they truly are without shame, and that our main goal as people should be to spread love. Which is why I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!

i feel like i've had the "kids can handle dark topics in stories" conversation on three separate occasions in the past month, what's up with that??? my impression of children's/young teen literature is that it's always been SURPRISINGLY DARK and that it FUCKING SLAPS.

like yeah, my trump card is that i can answer almost every "but what about [HEAVY TOPIC]" with "Animorphs did that actually," which makes animorphs sound super edgy, but the thing is... it didn't feel edgy? it felt like a substantial adventure with drama, tension, goofs, stakes, and a vibrant cast of characters. it was one of the first book series i ever read, so there was nothing that tipped me off that This Series Is So Dark And Gruesome - and i think it's because it wasn't, comparatively. one of my other early reads was Deltora Quest, and like, what school library didn't have Goosebumps? i never got my hands on warrior cats, but like, that series is just one installation in a WHOLE GENRE - the silverwing trilogy, wings of fire, guardians of ga'hoole... groups of animals dealing with war and exile and battle and grief and ridiculously tragic backstories and whatever was going on in these series, ripe for self-insert characters and scenarios for play pretend during lunch break. even the HTTYD books, which are completely different from the movies - they look childish, especially with the illustrated charcoal drawings - hiccup gets captured as a slave at some point, and there's a dragon rebellion that seeks to eradicate all of humanity. it has a lot of goofy moments and some incredibly over-the-top villains, but it doesn't flinch from how gruesome it gets, either.

i think kids genuinely love this stuff!!! not all kids, sure, but i definitely did!!! like!!! have you SEEN the edgy OCs kids and teens will make? the finely crafted horrific backstories? you know how small kids have traditionally played with barbies, right, with beheadings and torture and shakespearean plots? how a lot of kids and teens sought out creepypastas???

i absolutely think it's much easier for BOOKS to go into dark topics than visual media, and i think that's why a lot of people don't realize how much is happening below the surface. we live in a post gravity falls world now, so cartoons for teens are finally allowed to be a little more twisted and "wow i can't believe they went there," but ALSO... from what i can remember from being a Child, the most scarring and horrifying moments in stories for kids were not the existential concept of "oh no you're ten years old and bad guys want to kill you!" but stuff like, the groke from the moomins cartoon, old puppet shows, moments that were viscerally horrifying without being gory in any way...

maybe you don't understand all the Complexities of Heavy Topics when you're nine. but some things will stick with you, and as you grow older and gain more context and knowledge about the world around you, i think those moments can become very valuable. i haven't read animorphs for almost two decades and so much of it has stayed with me. maybe i saw princess mononoke a bit earlier than i "should have," but to this day it's still one of my favourite movies of all time, and my understanding of it grows every time i rewatch it. i don't think it's possible for every story to handle every topic perfectly or even well, but it might still be worthwhile to have engaged with it. i mean, that's the Discourse, isn't it, stories tell you stuff and we can't control what other people take from it.

anyway yeah kids crave blood and carnage and we should give it to them sometimes

hi I was wondering would you write for the dragons from httyd ?

Most definitely however I'd write the dragons as humans/or humans with dragon features because I'm not very keen about beastiality. Just let me know what you're looking for and I'll do my best to deliver.

Also I suck guys my carpal tunnel in my hand is acting up again so it's taking me a little longer to write/draw some of these though I'm still working on them. Just pacing myself.

Anyways—

I'm just gonna post a little tease from this short lmk comic I drew like weeks ago when I first posted that other lmk drawing. I just haven't gotten around to doing the outline/coloring for it.

So stay tuned cause I'm gonna drop the teaser tonight at some point. I just needed to relax and cook dinner after coming home from work first.

1. Favorite drawing from this year

This is difficult. Even though 2023 was the year I drew the least, it was certainly the year that had the drawings I liked the most, and there were many.

The last one I did I really loved, it was the most difficult and I'm still taking a break from it, but I had fun the whole time doing it.

The drawings from the beginning of the year also left an impression on me, which was when I started making funny videos and I want to do a lot more.

And all the drawings I did for the HTTYD fandom, they were all special. But if I have to choose one, it would be this one:

This drawing has a special place in my heart. It's super simple, and it wasn't difficult to do. But it's important to me. It comes from something very deep inside me and marks my first fic on this fandom

4. favorite character you've drawn

Viggo Grimborn. I love drawing Alastor and I always will, but I don't know what's so great about drawing Viggo, but it's really good. And this started with the vigcup ship, which I must confess, when I joined this fandom I didn't like this ship at all, but the game changed abruptly. I just loved all the drawings I did of him!

There a people called Rouges, and people called Riches. Both must wear a mask to keep themselves hidden. (Made from wood)

Calling it UnMasked. (Still working on title)

More information below

The mask determine their lifestyle and tribes.

Rouges mask’s:

•Owl: Life of Wits and Stealth.

•Bear: Life of Strength and Charisma.

•Rabbit: Life of Stamina and Speed.

•Bat: Life of Peace and Stability.

Rouges are clearly either poor, in debt, or any other thing involving money.

In their home or other private matters, they do not need to wear their mask. Only out in public and other things.

Though if mask is taken off in public, you’re weaknesses are shown, you are kicked out of your tribe and then killed/executed in front of the Riches, who take it as entertainment.

Speaking of the Riches.

Riches mask’s:

•Goat: Life of Power and Nobility.

•Tiger: Life of Riches and Looks

•Deer: Life of Kindness and Support.

•Lion: Life of Pride and Fear.

The Top Riches is the Goat and Lion. For they are the powerful and most feared.

No Respect is one thing here, but Out of line is the end.

If your mask breaks, you are put into a new tribe. One that you’re the complete opposite of which you either A. Have to live with. Or B. Mess up again and end up dying.

It’s literally a don’t screw up twice world.

Since you said it’s fun here’s my art of Percy and Annabeth as dragons. Dragons are what I’m most confident drawing but I’ve been working on my people. Feel free to give some constructive criticism.

Percy does have wings of course I just thought the full thing would get in the way.

Wow okay so first of all very interesting concept. Creature design is it's whole field so definitely don't downplay your abilities in that. There are people who's entire careers is just designing dragons and mythical monsters.

What I'd love to see is more of the actual abilities, environments, and the lives of these dragons integrated into the design. Creature designs are usually pulled from the adaptations of real animals.

For Annabeth, it seems like she's based off an owl and you say she can turn her head 180 degrees. Well what anatomy in the owl allows that? Well if you look it up google says "Unlike a human whose arteries tend to get smaller and smaller as they branch out, the owl's blood vessels at the base of the head get larger and larger so that blood reservoirs form. This allows the owl to “meet the energy needs of their large brains and eyes, while they rotate their heads" and also "Owls are more flexible than humans because a bird's head is only connected by one socket pivot." Well from there I would start taking a look at owl skeletons and anatomy and study that and find a way to translate it into my designs. I'd love to see even more of the owl motif in the dragon, for example, maybe the feet are more talon-y and the face is shorter and rounder. Maybe she has more of a short neck that extends situation. Maybe instead of spines on the back she's more feathery. I'd also ask what other animals could you pull from? You say she can turn invisible so what if you pulled in inspiration from an octopus? Since they're very good at camouflage. What environment does she live in? If she lives in somewhere that has a lot of tall grassland the stripes would make a lot of sense like a tiger. Is she an ambush predator? Is she more of a chaser (haha)? Etc. Maybe she's a bit of both like an owl.

Here's an unbelievably quick sketch where I basically just pulled the shape of an owl skeleton and threw on some skin and feathers.

if you like dragons you probably already know but HTTYD has incredible dragon designs (except the light fury, god i hate her design so bad). cloudjumper is an excellent example of an owl-based dragon design.

For Percy I would basically apply a similar logic. I can tell that you're already thinking about to some extent because of the different spines you gave him. I think you should push it even further though. Overall I think you should break out of the basic dragon body plan.

I don't know how aquatic you intend for him to be but I think it would be beneficial to go with very aquatic. How would a giant, lizard-y, aquatic animal look like. Well we have a lot of reference for that both prehistoric (mosasaurs, spinosaurs etc.) and also current (marine iguanas, well this would mostly be for if you're looking for something thats not fully aquatic). What adaptations helped those species adapt to their environment? Adapt to their niche? How is he controlling water (is it telekinetic, does he have to move at all etc.)? I just found this while looking for examples for aquatic lizards, but did you know Anolis can make a bubble on their head to breathe underwater? Maybe take something from that? If he spends a lot of time in water he probably has flatter, webbed feet with limbs that aren't as mammalian as you have it right now. He probably has less horns and flourishes to keep him streamlined. Maybe he has countershading? If he's a glowing sea green does this mean he spends a lot of time in darker waters/at night where bioluminescence could be helpful?

I know sometimes it might sound absurd to entertain the practicalities of fantasy creatures and certainly not all aspects of a creature design needs to be completely plausible but it's one of the things that makes fantasy incredible and believable and easier to suspend disbelief. Taking the things that are real and tangible and understandable from our world and turning into something fantastical and mythical.

Plus I think it's just a lot of fun to think about small things like that.

I've had both art and character theft over the time I've been drawing for HTTYD and at this point it has gotten frustrating, really removed the fun and experience in engaging with the community, and is just downright disrespectful.

On top of this, I have some serious anxiety issues and I can assure undiagnosed issues as well, so my mentality just can't keep up with things that cause me stress. That, and what's the point of participating in something if it doesn't bring joy anymore?

So for my own mental well-being, I feel as though breaking away from the fandom for good with really help me. I'll probably still draw kintype stuff here and there, but I'm also thinking about other things to help with my mental health as well, which will most likely result in me finally taking a step back from social media accounts.

Sorry for venting a bit on this blog, this is just a place I feel comfortable at atm and sometimes it's nice getting things off of my chest a bit~

This is the first How to break a dragon's heart drawing but i haven't finished reading it of yet, as im writing this to queue, but i wanted to show this Hiccup, that has had a slight change of hair to be more similar to my idea for his hair on the later books

And just as a heads up, I'm like, a fifth of the book away from the end i already have at least ten pages of drawings so prepare for quite a lot of drawings from that book

8,052,836 words and counting ;)

3. How many fandoms have you written for?

Gosh that depends on how you define “fandom”. Like, does the Rise of the Brave, Tangled Dragons fandom count as one, because the crossover makes it one fandom, or would you count the movies individually? Same goes to DC.

The way I would count it, I’d say 27. Counting all the DC properties under the DC umbrella as one, same for the crossover fandoms.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos?

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (Marvel, Loki/Tony, 6245 kudos)

The Lion’s Pride (Voltron, Shiro/Keith/Lance, 5615 kudos)

Percy and the Ghost King of Summers High (PJatO, Nico/Percy, 4680 kudos)

Percy Jackson, Ambassador of Hades (PJatO, Nico/Percy, 3841 kudos)

My College Boyfriend (PJatO, Nico/Percy, 3613 kudos)

Deadass, this feels like a glitch. I have written seventy-nine multiple-chapter fics. By virtue of having multiple chapters, they tend to draw in a bigger crowd of people. And even if not, I could think of a dozen of more deserving oneshots off the top of my head, at least. I do not understand number 5 at all, it makes no sense, I have 1004 fics and by virtue of people clicking a button, this incredibly... mundane... not-even-3k-long fic is the fifth place for most-heart-button-clicks...? Like, it’s not a bad fic, it is just... impossibly boringly slice of life? Nothing happens in it? It’s not even one of the long oneshots where a lot of plot or feelings - or heck even insanely kinky smut I’d get - happens? I truly can not fathom what made this story so much more worthy of clicking the dumb heart-button than all of the hundreds of stories that have... so much more going on in it...? My brain genuinely can’t comprehend this.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

Always. Because it feels like the polite thing to do. Sadly, receiving comments is not a given. Even when people like a fic - especially on AO3, with its cop-out “just click here to leave a heart” alternative, and yes I absolutely do think that that’s part of why many people don’t leave comments, because they are so conditioned through social media to think that a like-button is all it takes to communicate. So, in this comment-economy, I do think it’s worth to say thank you to those who do take the time and make the effort to leave actual feedback and truly let you know they enjoyed the story or what they enjoyed about the story.

6. A fic you've written with the angstiest ending.

That’d be a Beyblade oneshot from my German fandom days that was unrequited love ending in a suicide.

7. Do you write cross overs?

I used ot greatly dislike crossovers, because they only cater to a very specific group of people where those fandoms actually overlap for. But then I came across the whole Tangled/Brave/RotG/HttYD crossover fandom and it kind of took me by surprise. Opened my eyes to crossovers and since then, I’ve dipped into quite a couple different kinds of crossovers.

8. Ever received hate on a fic?

Were you really a fanfic author in the 2010 decade if you didn’t receive hate from the censorship and purity cult? Or, heck, in the beginning of that decade, from the homophobic “ew slash ships are evil and gross” crowd? :/

9. Do you write smut?

You could say that, yeah. *chuckles*

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

*ugly sobbing* I hate wattpad--

11. Ever had a fic translated?

I have been asked for permission more often than I can count, but I just... I just don’t like that? The thought of my fics on other people’s account, even when they do give credit to me as the original author.

And a bunch of the stolen fics on wattpad were, indeed, people who just decided to translate my fics and post them, all without my permission.

I did translate one fic myself though, because I wrote it when Germany passed the marriage equality law, so I wrote it in German and then figured I should also post it in English. ^^

13. All time Fav ship.

ALL time. I think I have to go with Kaito/Shinichi from Detective Conan. It’s, by now, the ship that’s been with me the longest in an active way. I still get excited about them, I even wrote a fic for them just last month to celebrate my 1000th AO3 fic.

14. WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

*looks shamefully at Animexx* Basically all my old Beyblade fics. I dropped out of that fandom too suddenly and it doesn’t help that they’re in German and I’ve stopped writing in German.

15. Writing strengths?

Writing speed and the ability to plan ahead; both, when I write a fic as well as planning my schedule ahead.

16. Writing weakness?

Endings? I really struggle with when to end a fic and how.

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

It’s stupid and unnecessary. Use italics and note what language they’re speaking in. Like, look, if it’s a language you actually speak, I can understand the temptation, but 90% of those include an A/N about how the author used Google translate for that and just... why.

And I straight-up hate when authors then don’t include the translation directly behind the spoken part but rather at the very end of the chapter... I don’t... I don’t want to scroll down to look at what I am just trying to read in the middle of the chapter and then have to find the place I was before? It completely breaks the reading flow.

I think that petnames, even some phrases, do make things more authentic, when you’re writing bilingual characters. But when it’s entire dialogues, that’s too much and should just be indicated that it is being said in another language.

19. What's your fav fic you've written so far?

It always depends. I have a lot of fics I am very proud of, or that I think are incredibly well-done. But for me my favorite fic would be defined by the one I enjoy rereading the most. Within the last year or so, I’d say it’s probably The Lost Soulmarks, but there are a bunch I’m bouncing back and forth between and it’s also always up to what fandom or pairing I’m craving. There’s no one holy grail fic that I hold over all others, I guess.

Hiccup

Autistic and adhd

Pan and gnc demiguy

Pressure stims and just being tossed tf around stims (neither of which he realized until Toothless, used to get in trouble for rocking hard enough to knock himself out of his chair.)

THE pickiest of eaters. Would rather go hungry than eat certain foods.

Really shit lung capacity. Can also make himself pass out by holding his breath. Yes he did this in desperate attempts for attention as a young child. (Yes I made myself sad writing that.)

Quite a few health problems as a result of being born premature. (May make seperate post abt this)

Can write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time (self-taught ambidextrous.)

Astrid:

Adhd

Bi and Butch nb (she/he pronouns)

Collects weapons like. BIGTIME collection. Meticulously organized in an order only she understands. This order changed every month or so when he gets bored of the arrangement.

Has never had a Thought before she acted beyond "oh this will be so badass."

Happy stims by yelling. Angry stims by yelling. Only people who really know her can tell the difference.

Has no tastebuds. There was a competition in the edge to see who could break him with awful food and everyone failed. She did get sick afterwards though.

Protective Butch Instincts. Can sometimes be overbearing about it, but she learns when to back off.

Special Interest involves all wildlife. His focuses are plant identification, and animal biology and behavioral patterns. He especially loves dragon biology, and collects anatomical drawings of them.

Does cute tiny handflaps and stomps his feet a little when he's excited.

Human furnace. He gives off so much heat, just sitting next to him can keep someone warm. His friends draw straws for who gets to cuddle when its cold.

Has never been sick in his life aside from a small cough. This means he's the best at taking care of sick people.

He is SO strong. Like almost able to pick up Stoick strong. Like has seperated the twins by carrying one in each arm strong. Strong.

He ended up crazy protective of Hiccup once they became friends bc of some awful shit his dad said. (Lots of...implicatons abt Hiccups poor health.)

He has REALLY bad anxiety, but any acknowledgement of that makes him angry. (At himself.) Panic attacks are especially nasty for him.

Actually a really good listener. When his friends are info-dumping he knows when to ask questions and when to stay quiet.

Had a lot of verbal stims. His fav is going "tstststststs" when he's not doing anything.

Gives the best hugs. Specialized hugs for each of his friends. Specialized hugs for specific moods.

Volume control? Never heard of her. Most of the time shes talking too loud or yelling, but sometimes shes too quiet to hear even if you're standing right next to her, usually on the rare occassion shes nervous or embarrassed.

Likes to spin until shes dizzy as a stim, esp with her arms out. Stimming Ruffnut is a deadly weapon.

She knows every braid possible, and invented some herself. She can and will braid anyones hair. That is a threat.

Very femme. She's up to date all all viking womens fashion and she sill mash it all into her own style.

This man has given himself a concussion as a result of throwing himself to the ground to stim. Also slaps himself as a stim. Also screams as a stim. Also gives himself whiplash as a stim. Also-

He will talk nonstop during meltdowns. Sometimes he's narrating whats happening around him, other times hes repeating random facts.

The most tactile person is existence. If he isn't in physical contact with at least 1 person then does he even exist?

Echolalia. Especially in tense situations, he will repeat things other people say. He'll do the same with sounds.

Memorizes the most random stuff. A lot of minor info he knows about his friends, and some really weird facts.

*Oblivi-oh no! - A retelling of Oblivio, except Ladybug is the only one to lose her memory. How will Chat deal?

*Bad Day (3 chapters) - Marinette was Ladybug! This was Adrien’s luckiest day ever! Except it wasn’t, because all his good luck was used up in one go. Turns out this might be the worst day of his life.

*One Win, So Many Losses- Marinette was forced to break up with Adrien. It had been a low blow from Gabriel, to be sure. But she was Ladybug. She’d find a solution…right? An alternate ending to Chat Blanc, where Adrien doesn’t Cataclysm the akuma.

*Five Minutes- Gabriel has had enough of all these girls fighting over Adrien. He decides it’s high time Adrien picks one, and arranges the perfect opportunity for him to do so. *❤️Nine Lives- (FF.net) When Adrien Agreste is scheduled to go to a Military School in Germany, Chat Noir must make a critical decision. Does he give up his Miraculous? Or does he give up his life as Adrien? I’ll save you the trouble of guessing, he gives up being Adrien.

*Tender Words- When Marinette finally gets the guts to confess her feelings for Adrien, some things go so wrong, and other things go so right.

*Integrity- Overwhelmed with her responsibilities, guilt, and drama, Marinette has an emotional breakdown in front of everyone, and even hands over her earrings in a moment of weakness. Only for a few seconds, but the damage was done. Adrien’s pretty quick on the uptake like that.

~Much Obliged- Everyone deals with grief differently. Some take to drinking, others devote themselves to charity. Adrien Agreste? Well, he became a cowboy. Marinette Dupain-Cheng is a witch, one of very few in the world. She knows what it's like to be doubted, and assumed delusional. Maybe that's why they got along so well. Or maybe it's just because they both like big hats. AU where everything is the same, except instead of superheroes, Adrien is a Cowboy and Marinette is a witch.
