I made the playlists on Spotify if anyone is interested! EDIT22/04 the songs from TTPD are added in these playlists!

DENIAL. I Love You, It's Ruining My Life Songs: “This is a list of songs about getting so caught up in the idea of something that you have a hard time seeing the red flags possibly resulting in moments of denial and maybe a little bit of delusion.”

ANGER. You Don't Get to Tell Me About Sad Songs: “These songs all have one thing in common: I wrote them while feeling anger. Over the years I've learned that anger can manifest itself in a lot of different ways, but the healthiest way it can manifest itself in my life is when I can write a song about it.”

BARGAINING. Am I Allowed to Cry? Songs: “This playlist takes you through songs I've written when I was in the bargaining stage, times when you're trying to make deals with yourself or someone you care about, you're trying to make things better. You're often times feeling really desperate because oftentimes we have a gut intuition that tells us things are not going the way that we hope. Which makes us more desperate. Which makes us bargain more!"

DEPRESSION. Old Habits Die Screaming Songs: “We're going to be exploring the feelings of depression that often lace their way through my songs. In times like these, I'll write a song because I feel lonely or hopeless. And writing a song feels like the only way to process that intensity of an emotion. And while these things are really, really hard to go through, I often feel like when I'm either listening to songs or writing songs that deal with this intensity of loss and hopelessness — usually that's in the phase where I'm close to getting passed that feeling.”

ACCEPTANCE. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart Songs: “We finally find acceptance and can start moving forward from loss or heartbreak. These songs represent making room for more good in your life, making that choice. Because a lot of the time when we lose things, we gain things too.”

Hi. I'm the problem. It's me.

I'm Lindsay, I'm 37, living in Texas, and I love writing poetry, listening to music, binge watching TV, wasting my time online, and reading. My top five artists are Taylor, Sleeping at Last, The National, Bon Iver, and Frightened Rabbit (in no particular order).

I'm a Twitter refugee, and just trying to figure out Tumblr.

I made a Tumblr for my poetry @wearethepoemspoetry after two lines in one of my poems "we are the poems / we are writing." I post once a day. I've been writing poetry since I was five, and it's my second love after reading. I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out.

I also made a Tumblr for my political topics -- @liberaltakes which I'll be hopefully using along with my Twitter @liberaltakes12 and my blog, Liberal Takes.

I made a list of my Top 125 Taylor Songs in Order, but they change all the time -- except hoax is ALWAYS first and exile is ALWAYS second. (In actuality, they're tied.) Actually, the top five are pretty much always the top five!

"Enchanted" TV: this is the ULTIMATE meet-cute song *and my all time favorite Taylor song* and I feel like it reflects the "soulmates finding eachother" of it all

"gold rush": this is Courtney's pov as she's talking herself out of a potential crush she's developing on Shayne *I imagine she's being sarcastic and condescending throughout 50 of the song lol*

"Superstar" TV: how Shayne WISHES Courtney saw him *cue the clothes swap video!* lol jk....maybe? no but seriously I think this is Courtney projecting a little bit of insecurity which I totally get

"Foolish One" TV: again- Courtney is in self-preservation mode and is talking herself out of her crush so she doesn't get hurt because they're coworkers! and friends! and he has a girlfriend...

"Hits Different": yeah that didn't work...shocker! she's still into him...like super into him...but she suppresses those feelings obviously

"You Belong With Me" TV: intrusive delulu thoughts in song form basically

"Teardrops On My Guitar": it's starting to hurt...which is what she didn't want so...time to keep faking that smile
