Another thing from the twitter trash fire mixed with whatever Chrome is always known for:

In fact, I’m not even sure if it is a Chrome thing atm. BUT, pretty sure it was caused by whatever the hell is Twitter going through right now.

Just when I was scrolling my feed, my window browser flashed a few times and soonish enough found out that no video on Twitter was playing RIGHT. Only a few fotograms were seen (or not at all), only the audio was being played... etc. “Oh, hopefully it is a twitter thing since you know the mess it is becoming since the pinch*e musky took over”. And then I open a new incognito page, same issue with twitter. And then I decide to open YT and play whichever video and same issue as above: only audio was being played. Fuck.

Luckily, closing chrome seems to solve the issue at first glance. But, since yours truly also had another issue with her account’s feed, you may imagine me trying to get to the bottom of that feed because it doesn’t stop as it has happened with me plenty of times in my other twitter accounts (and once on main) as of recent as a few months ago... but it stops at certain time (6 PM or 9 AM, pick your poison), and it then jumps back to yesterday (Nov 21) around 8 PM :/.

And, what do you know: I find another flashing/crashing in my web browser and me not being able to play videos accordingly, again. FGGFKDFGKDFG. With that I was pretty sure it was a twitter video. NOT sure which kind of video it triggers it out, however, I decided to do a little more digging and decided to disable Autoplay altogether... since turns out I can also disable autoplay on twitter on web browser (the only bad I can see of this is that “it only can be done with any account logged in this device i.e. Chrome browser, meaning I have to manually do so EVERY time I log into my other accounts in incognito?, sdsadsfdfdf).

So, YEAH. DISABLE AUTOPLAY ON TWITTER.

Having it off is a little weird (but maybe I should have found out that this was possible in the past), but with how things have been within in the past hour for me while scrolling down and finding this weird flash/glitch thing that PROBABLY chrome doesn’t support that much... I’m starting to lean in believing that twitter will start to break as days pass by and engineering the site might be troublesome for the new ppl that might get hired in this sinking ship (I checked out earlier this morning and found that they revamped some UI things like fonts, so, this might not be a coincidence?). It’s just too annoying, I can’t...

 The Fentons have created a machine! A wonderful machine that will reveal a ghost’s true form! So that everyone will see their trickery! They’ll see that the monsters they really are! 

 Now, to know what all went wrong, one would have to know some things about the ghost zone, and more specifically the area the Fentons had managed to punch through to. 

 For one, ghosts do not age like humans. Oh they might take a form similar to that of their death, which may appear as an adult or teen or something similar, but with how they can only die by the complete destruction of their core, theoretically a ghost could live forever once formed. 

 In fact, the equivalent of eighteen years for a ghost was one-hundred realms-years dead. And those years don’t always sync up with the years of the living world that one might open a door into. Thankfully, the Fenton’s world, being one of those synced closer to the Realms, only had a time dilation of a few seconds. 

 That being said, the area their portal had ripped into was incredibly rich in ectoplasm. And areas like that, were where newborn ghosts were formed and arrived. A ghost daycare of sorts, almost akin to a toddler area of the zone. 

 Which meant that when they shoot the Phantom-menace and other pesky ghosts to revert them into their true form, it isn’t exactly monsters that appear. Instead, there are now several ghost toddlers- or in the phantom-trio’s case literal babies- flying around. Very unhappy ghost toddlers. 

 What a horrible time for the Justice League to arrive. Though perhaps some would say it was actually perfect timing.

In tlp au, is Donnie any good at fighting? I know in the show he’s shown as being REALLY good, like almost takes out draxum in the first episode all by himself before the mystic stuff happens, so what about in your au?

so at this point TLP donnie has not had any fighting training or experience so he is not very good

that being said! he is very crafty which i think given the opportunity, he would be able to land a few good hits on his opponent just by using his environment and random objects around him in ways that aren't obvious. sort of like in miraculous ladybug how marinette uses her lucky charm, she has an object and she finds a creative way to use it to her advantage. though even though Donnie can do this, because he doesn't have any training, it is still fairly easy to beat him.

eventually when Donnie leaves Big Mama and starts living with the Hamatos he will get some proper martial arts training. I have like a lot of things planned out for Donnie's first few months living with the Hamatos where he's going to go through a lot of wack emotional states as he grieves leaving his mom and realizing that she wasn't good to him and one of them will be anger and during that time he's pretty much going to go all out in training and use that as an emotional outlet and during that time he's going to get fairly good at fighting.

saw a video on instagram where someone’s cat was diagnosed with tooth resorption and it’s something that patches has been suffering from for several years now, so i figured i’d see what people were saying the comments. the top comment was asking about the procedure price and op said it was around $1500 for six teeth to be extracted. someone else said it was $900 for one tooth in their cat, others had to pay $3000. (one person said it was 10k for two surgeries, but i’m thinking there had to be more to it than resorption alone.) lowest i saw was $750 (absolute lowest 500 in norway, roughly $50 usd today) and it made me realize how low my old vet’s prices were for this. patches had two different extractions (1 tooth the first, 2 the second) and those included cleanings, associated shots, antibiotics and of course anesthesia and both were under $200 each time.

now either my vet really liked us (she did, but i don’t think that played a factor in billing), or everyone in the comments is being wildly overcharged. patches’ last extraction was mid-2021, so i know things have gone up since, but these prices truly have me terrified as he will be needing another round of extractions pretty soon.

Ok so for all my windows using friends. We all know that new windows photos is dreadful and extra slow and bloaty on slower computers. There is a better solution for photo viewing on your PC, and as an added bonus this comes with a photo managing app that does many of the same things as adobe bridge. Oh and it's free.

What is this stunning software you ask?

Great question! Back in 2002, Google created a nifty piece of software known as Picasa Photos. They eventually killed this software in 2016 to focus on the infinitely more spying Google Photos (I'm not kidding about Google photos having privacy issues. They literally got sued over this in my home state of IL for violating our biometric privacy laws. I got paid $500 from Google for this btw). Moving on, Picasa slapped and that's why they killed it. Fortunately I am not the only Picasa Photo Viewer 3 enthusiast on the internet and there are others who saved the installation exe files. That said, I have helpfully found one that works which you can now download from my google drive here. Note that you cannot use the Google Photos/Google Account related options in the software anymore as Google has discontinued support for it.

Picasa has it all for the person who needs a good photo organizer:

finds ALL photos in your documents, downloads, and pictures folders for you.

ability to open and edit camera raw files

ability to add tags to photos, sort into folders, locate in the system etc.

basic photo editing tools with a good histogram. one of the best editing tools they have, which I would argue is almost on par with a tool from the adobe camera raw editor is the "neutral color picker" tool, where you can select an area in the picture to set a custom white balance in the image (easiest, best color correction). Also contains a primitive healing brush tool.

very good at red eye removal. I used that feature a lot back in 2005.

good printing options (easy to print multiple copies of the same photo on the same page in a variety of standard sizes.

ability to create a photo collage with multiple photos or a photo slideshow video

sort by person tool

lots of fun filters to apply to images if that's your thing.

add custom geotags to photos using another dated google product, google earth.

create a gift cd of photos or create poster sized versions of your photos that print over multiple sheets somewhat like the rastrabator.

the image viewer part is slick, lightweight and fast unlike windows photos. It allows you to quickly arrow key through your photos in a very nice way.

Allow me to show you some screenshots of this glorious piece of abandonware.

anyways, tldr; this piece of abandonware is the best, most glorious free photo viewer for windows, and as a person who's been using it for the last 18 years I highly recommend it to everyone who does not have adobe PS & Bridge and also anyone with windows who wants a quick way to preview photos in their folders.

i’ve been reading a lot about odd vintage tech lately, and i think it’s started to spill over into my subconscious, because last night i had a dream about a fascinating device. it was technically a synthesizer, but it looked nothing like any real-world synthesizer i’ve ever seen. it was a rectangular metal box with three small screens on the front, each with two knobs under it, and you controlled it by using the knobs to draw waveforms on the screens like an etch-a-sketch. it would play whatever was on the screens, and there was also an option to have it loop the current waveform and clear the screens, so you could draw another waveform to play over the existing one. it was the most utterly impractical way to design a synthesizer, and yet i kind of love it and lowkey want to build one now.

My computer’s hard drive (apparently 250GB) was running low on space and I wanted to store more photos, maybe avoid paying Google for storage space. So I bought a new, larger internal hard drive. Because I want to be able to easily take photos along when I visit my mom (laptop in tow), I also bought a new, larger external/portable drive.

One of my kids installed my new internal drive today. I got home from work and she said, “Found a spare kidney.” Turns out my computer has a 1T hard drive that’s been in it from Day 1, except the person who built it for me didn’t format it and it never showed up.

Along with installing my new drive, my daughter formatted the long-lost existing drive. So, in a matter of minutes, I went from having approximately 325 GB of free space between my (old) internal and external existing drives to having that plus another 8T.

I’m told I now have more than enough storage space for all of my photos, even if I store all of the photos of my cat at 10M each!
