Liveblogging TMA - Season 2 - MAG 58-61

Oh, she definitely ate her husband in the end, didn't she ?

Or she survived but was marked by the oddity trying to make her eat him and it followed her descendants.

Or Benjamin's family was really fucking cursed.

Horrific story, but I am kind of disappointed that Wick didn't just set the Wagon on fire and burst into song. Ah well, not everything can be perfect, I guess.

The oddity of this episode made me think of Father Edward Burroughs, and his halucinations that would drive him to eat flesh in "Desecrated Host". I think that, whatever possessed him is linked to that phenomenon.

Supplemental, can someone PLEASE knock Jon out, he needs a nap, oh my god. Jonathan, bab,y, I love you you fucking rat racoon of a man, but you need to take a breath and realize just how unhinged you are being. Hopefully, Tim will open up and Jon will stop suspecting him, like he did with Martin, and finally focus on Sasha and Elias !

And yes. Yes it was. The Stranger's table is back, and so was the box, and the box' place of origin was indeed what I thought it was, the middle of the table where there was that hole. I am guessing that Agnes was the one to separate the two.

She seemed pretty antagonistic to the actions of her "father", or whatever Raymond was to her. Was she even human ?

Anyway, more proofs that the spiders are evil actually, and I am sad but not surprised, of course they would be. Martin is going to be so sad by this one, isn't he.

Supplemental, Jon is suspicious as to why his co-workers are avoiding him, and I want to hit him up the head.

Just once, to get him and his wits back on track.

THE OBSERVER EFFECT :

Oh look. The exact same thing that is happening to Jonathan. And also that seems to have happened to Gertrude. And it is especially strong in the Archive.

But nah, I'm sure this has nothing to do with the whole thing, obviously.

Ok, so whatever is watching (beholding) the Archivist is big, got enormous eyes and drive people crazy by watching them all the time, which is. Interesting.

God, I hope there's another one of those mirrors for Jonathan to see it for good because this is dangerous.

Was the oddity always there ? For all of the different versions of the Archive, was it always watching ? But why ?

And how are Archivists chosen ?

Supplemental, an intervention was finally made and Jonathan laid off his friends for a while. Which would be good, if it wasn't for the whole Not-Sasha thing, and the Elias is definitely evil thing, and the shifting of Jon's attention onto anything other than them but still being unhealthily paranoid thing.

Just. What a mess of a situation.

Daisy is one badass lady. I like her.

I wasn't expecting more of the coffin, but god am I glad to know what was inside. Well, somewhat. I still stand by everything that I said in its episode, but more context couldn't hurt.

The vampire thing an learning more about how the police deals with the supernatural has been something I greatly appreciate. I just love world building, and considering just how much of the world seems infested with oddities, it makes sense for the police force and just, lots of people in general, to be aware of them and have protocols for them.

I am kind of sorry that Basira was helping Jon only to try and catch him if he ended up being the culprit, but it is understandable. At least he acknowledged to having been unstable for some time, so there's something.

I am glad that he's going to have some more rest, he really does need that night of sleep. And next will be another Gertrude's tape ! Now those are always a blast.

Pun intended.

oops new ocs

Okay well they aren’t actually “new”, I’ve had these two kicking around in my brain for a couple years now but I felt that since there is now one (1) observer to this blog who’s interested, I might as well post about them! This serves as a more longform introductory oc post to these two lovely ladies, though I’ll also put the brief information on my regular OC post too. Anyway! Vampire and Warrior Queen OC Ladies beneath the cut:

Sara Penderghast, Warrior Queen of Kalin: (Yeah I bet you’ve never heard that very predictable cool surname before! It’s not creative but it is what stuck).

Born to Marcus and Gertrude Penderghast (nee: Harte) Sara inherited the kingdom of Kalin at twelve years old, after her mother died in childbirth and her father was assassinated (something she witnessed, and it still haunts her). Being their only child, Sara had been taught, pretty much from the time she could walk, to rule the kingdom. She was polite, prim, proper, and refused to be manipulated by her advisors... especially her court mage (he’d been her parent’s court mage, and it was decided he shouldn’t be replaced because Sara was so young). Sara grew up ruling a kingdom that was torn; some loved her, the girl queen, some thought she needed to die as she refused to let anyone else take the reins behind the scenes. So it was no surprise that, when Sara was sixteen, there was an assassination attempt. Yet it was here that Sara, in a last ditch attempt to protect herself, emitted a blast of True Power. Magic, and unlike anything anyone had ever seen. She survived only with the intervention of her court mage, who cut off the surge of power before it consumed her entire life force. This was when Sara discovered she was a Living Rune-- a person naturally imbued with magic, who could direct magic both in and out of their body through special techniques, and surges of power like what she’d experienced.

Sara was determined to harness this power, use it as a strength rather than a weakness, and so at eighteen she commissioned the elven mage Articia to forge a glaive that would allow her to use her power in short burst; power could surge from her hands to the blade of the glaive. At around the same time, a war broke out between Kalin and a dangerous warlord. This is when the legend of the warrior queen was born, as Sara fought beside her soldiers against the invader. When the sadistic conqueror was defeated, the rules of warfare also meant they gained his prize…. A captive vampire, tortured, beaten, kept in silver chains and a silver cage, starved of blood.

Naturally, Sara’s advisors and generals were wary of such a creature, but Sara ordered the vampire taken back to the capital (in the cage, for safety) and then released. However, Sara’s court mage had other plans, and wanted to experiment on this vampire to learn what made them tick, since the species was so little known of them. When Sara refused to let him do that, the mage planned to assassinate Sara (because of course.)

The vampire learned of this (court mage loved to evil monologue, I suppose) and used quite a bit of strength to escape her cage, her chains; and arrive just in time to stop the assassination by running the court mage through with her claws…. and then sucking all his blood.

This vampire had no reason to care about humans, but she cared about Sara. Sara had tried to have her released from her prison; Sara treated her as something other than a monster. This vampire saved Sara, and, still in her debt, requested a Blood Pact with her-- a ritual that would bind the two of them with a simple drop of blood into a magic circle. Sara, to just about everyone’s surprise, was honored to do this. Yet a Blood Pact is more than just a ritual. It’s a form of intimacy unlike anything most humans will ever feel; it links the emotions, feelings, thoughts and minds.

That was about the time the two started to fall in love. Was it because of the pact? Who can say. All that matters if that their love is real, and true... It was also at this point that the vampire, who had long forgotten her original name, was christened Annabell, and pledged to protect Sara and all of her line with her life by becoming her court sorceress, thanks to her magical ability. And while many are afraid Annabell for what she is, Sara just loves her. She always will.

Annabell, Vampire: Annabell comes from the race of vampires, which once held a thriving civilization before humans came along. Now, thanks to the curse which makes them immortal and hunger for blood, vampires are seen as monsters. Annabell, to that end, may have skin as cold and as pale as death, she may have red eyes, sharp teeth, claws and immense strength, regenerative ability... but she is no monster. She feels just as humans do, feels pain and sadness and anger. And love.

(The only difference between her and a human is, she can regrow a hand in five minutes and she feels like she’s burning alive in the sunlight. And she drinks blood. Not such a difference, no? Ha.)

The truth is that Annabell doesn’t remember much about her life, or unlife, before Sara freed her from her cage. Perhaps her memories are repressed, perhaps she has simply truly lost them. What she does know is that she would trade every memory in the world for another moment with Sara. Sara gave her purpose, and she cares deeply about for her warrior queen and will protect her by any means she can, always caring for and about her, even to the detriment of herself. To Annabell, nothing matters but Sara. After all, she is immortal, and she has all the time in the world. Sara... isn’t, and doesn’t, but like all humans she tries her best to make her mark on the world anyway, and that’s what Anna loves about her... one of the many things.

(lol I promise Anna has a past I just don’t have it all detailed yet.... maybe someday I’ll get there)

Season 3 notes popping off

due to my desire to not completely fail all my classes this year i made myself slow down significantly while listening to this season, and the fact that the other person i'm listening along with had to catch up. We've managed to convert several other people to start listening and its pretty great.

ep 81: what does it even mean to be chosen by one of them? And if he was chosen by the eye. we know Gertrude wasnt? Because she cut the eyes out of the magazines?

ep 82: elias lmao. I understand why people like him so much bahshdhdk i thought he was gonna snitch on Jon but he didnt so he's fine. Ok but how do we think he knew all that stuff. Idk probably just institute connections. I love the fact that the recorder just wants to record stuff randomly bjahsjdhd. Elias feels a lot like Michael in the sense that he knows more than he should and talks in a way that implies he just wants to wait and see how things play out for his own benefit. I understand him knowing the things that happened but his description of her emotions implies something paranormal. Maybe he's connected to one of the entities. Which one I cannot guess.

ep 83: did a file get delivered randomly to the place he's staying at? Probably elias lmao. He thinks the mannequin is related to the stranger. Idk I would believe it.

ep 84: worms? I know he says earth worms but idk. Again? Is she making gordon golems out of trash? Martin popping off. You can tell the statements get to him more that they get to Jon. How come martin is so mad about it? I want to assume he just doesnt want her to get stuck there but idk. Jude Perry. The calliope organ. Jon heard a circus in one of the last episodes

ep 89: he's talking to perry? Like jude Perry? He says ... God? Is that what it is? Lmao. The Desolation. Jon is tired of ppl being vague and not telling him stuff lmao. Oh God Jon is so confused. Compel her? Is she assuming he has some kind of power? Does he have powers? Hmm. im agreeing with jon here please jesus christ why does everyone have to be so cryptic. Just say what you mean. "maybe you get an itchy eye" bahasjkdfklsjdf girl what. Agnes saved her? Oh this is the girl from the cafe story? So theres the Cult of the Lightless Flame? They worship whatever entity this is? The Desolation? Why do they all seem like they sorta worship her then? Is Gretchen gonna die oh god. fuckin michael. a different michael aaah. i see. dont do it shes gonna burn you. sir. please. sir dont you dare do- WHAT DID I SAY what did you think was gonna happen hhh.

ep 90: try to make it less obvious you're trying to get fired big T. Elias that doesnt sound like the most healthy thing to do. oh dear is this gonna be triggering for me. uuuuuh. uuuuuuuuuh. doesnt seem like it ok gonna keep listening. Jared. hmmmmm. Ok we've seen Keay and hotner or whatever his name was.

ep 91: Michael Crew. Oh is this the lightning scar guy. Mister jon sir did you just die. No? God everyone is so fuckin cryptic. Say normal things please. They all just like to go on about pain and agony and j e s u s c h r i s t we get it you got hurted by whatever thing. So theyre avatars? question mark? Jude Perry is an avatar of The Desolation? hhhh fractals. thats a spiral thing innit. Yup. messing with your perceptions. God they all talk about feeding their god and feeding that which feeds them and. hh what does that meann. Leave big J. please. uh oh. is it daisy? how come he has the web lighter still? the tape recorder just turns on sometimes you know how it is. So he can compel people? not that he knows it obviously but. a bit wack. powers go brr i guess? If the eye just wants knowledge i guess he feeds it by getting the statements? b/c i doubt it wants him to murder ppl or whatever.

ep 92: elias you all knowing fuck what do you know. (i guess all given what i just said) Lukas. Heard of them before. Mordecai Lukas. Loneliness. The lonely even. Jonah Magnus. Elias ur sounding like a bit of a dickhead rn. lmao jon's just like "i dont care" elias what is ur deal. Why does he want to tie her in. ohh i see. lmao theyre all just like "elias why" The Unknowing lol seems very much like something the eye wouldnt like. lol elias is gettin all philosophical. what does it really mean to be human. this still doesnt answer why gertrude wanted to destroy the archives tho.

ep 93: bahsjdfh he seems so dead inside rip. awww admiral. i love him already. ghh breacon and hope. purple mold. doesnt sound like anything we've seen so far. I think the funniest explanation for breacon and hope is that they dont actually serve the stranger they just kinda happen to be a random neutral party that cart around random spooky entity related stuff. ooooh. when we hear the slight static of the tape recorder it's cuz he's compelling ppl.

ep 94: the end! listen man they were all just grayed up for 4/13.

ep 95: the end also? death but also savagery/ animalistic shit. aww martin. lmao becerra. she's just been chillin in the corner.

ep 96: return to sender. haha minecraft go brr. prediction: breacon and hope? yup there we go. jon why is there an echo. are you in a stairwell? is he gonna eat it- yup. how did i call it. unsure abt what theyre talking about but ok. they kidnapped someone? Sarah Baldwin. ooooh that guy.

ok im just putting this here so i have notes for when nicholas gets to this part. It seems like (from jon's conversation with jude perry) that the desolation and the eye are kinda at odds with eachother? like i guess not directly but it seems like they dont really vibe? so how could be with both. Cuz if he has the heat powers and shit then we know he's an avatar of the desolation. but then why does he have so much eye imagery. also he got burned intentionally? like jude did when she went on her monologue about the feeling of burning? but then why did he wear the eye pendant. it stops him from being burned all the way which seems like he's not fully accepting the fire or whatever.

Nooooo I lost like a bunch of my notes rip. I keep forgetting to save.

Ep 104: tim gives a coherent statement without jon even being there. Ugh. Fucking robert smirk. Dont like him. Joey. Dont recognize the name. The show must go on. Clown. The spooky circus?

ep 105: total war... shogun 2? jon is just understanding languages again. "if i understood mandarin or cantonese" are you sure you dont big man?

ep 106: havent we heard this one already? mans in space? oh no this is just another episode in space. fairchild... uuuh. cant remember. oh! this is related to that! this is one of the ppl from the other side. sounds like a Vast thing. oh he's the one that the dude saw? but that guy didnt have a face... she's sorta like jon. wanting to dismiss the statements. lmao i love the workplace gossip. ace jon for the win! oh cmon elias dont be a dick. sunny meadows or whatever. thats the place we heard about.

ep 107: oh great is it jude perry again. Third Degree. bahahsdkfj she was arrested. sorry but imagining this old british lady getting arrested is funny. she was trying to resurrect him. using the skin book. he's not feeling well. jon take a nap. i wonder if this is what happens when he uses his powers too much. He gets into The Zone when he reads statements lol. didn't we have a burning train car in anothre statement? is it julia fairchild? bahahahs "kidnapped. Again." poor jon honestly. julia... about her dad. daughter of the murder shed guy? hunting like your dad liked to hunt or normal people hunting. oh hunting vampires!

ep 108: melanie has been suffering. poor martin peter lukas why do you have to be like this. can he not just use the front door? does he have to bother the ppl doing statements?

ep 109: how come he cut her off? kinda rude tbh. its either jon's influence or there was smth he didnt want her saying. is it gerard on the table? this sounds kinda like smth from one of the university episodes. is it the closed eye on the hand? yup. he's like one of the students! if the thing listening in is elias then... he can do that without the tape recorder yknow. plus who's to say it wont just turn itself on again

111: Lukas related to The Lonely. I used to not like Gerard that much but i like him more now. but i thought there were 15? ohhh thats right isnt flesh newer? gerry for the win honestly. finally telling jon things.

So many of these entities deal with death but the end is one that deals in just death. it has no need for fancy deaths, just death is enough

Rating TMA characters by how much I want to steal their names:

Jon: 7/10 good name. on The List of Tasty Names to Borrow and Steal™, vibes are not quite right. It's up there though.

Martin: 6/10 I never considered this one before. also a good name, good vibes but not ones I want.

Tim: 4/10 hmmmmm I like Tim but not his name.

Sasha: 3/10 good but I'm not looking for feminine names. Sasha is the name of my brother's best friend, it's ok I guess.

Elias: 2/10 an ok name but I hate that bitch. Eli maybe but Elias no.

Michael: 2/10 there are too many. I've met so many people called Michael (y'all are cool and valid tho), it's the name of a relative so extra no.

Melanie: 3/10 it's better than Sasha I guess.

Basira: 4/10 hmmmmmm.

Daisy: 1/10 bad vibes. Idk why but I don't like it.

Georgie: 3/10 makes me think of Stephen King's IT. No thankyou.

Mike: 2/10 I don't know why it's here. I already have Michael but I feel like Mike deserves to be where too, I still don't want his name though.

Gertrude: 1/10 dear lord. No I don't think so.

Simon: 3/10 makes me think of old men. Also makes me think of preachers, and my neighbour, hard pass.

Adelard: 4/10 ok ok. Not a name I'd go for but, I like it?

Annabelle: 4/10 sexy spider lady go brrr. I sort of like it even tho it's femme, hmmm.

Breekon and Hope: 3/10 a package deal. I don't know why they're on this list, they don't need to be here, I'm neutral about both names.

Eric: 4/10 reminds me of the little mermaid. Not a bad name other than that.

Jane: 4/10 I can't believe I forgot her. I sort of love this name I don't know why, 10/10 would name a succulent after her.

Jared: 2/10 bad name. I don't like it.

Jonah: 3/10 get out musty old man. Reminds me of the Bible, not a terrible name otherwise, not for me.

Jordan: 4/10 go ant boy go. Not a bad nameACTUALLY NO IT IS, i know a few people named Jordan and I don't like them, it's pretty good other than that.

Jurgen: 1/10 JURGEN LEITNER? STUPID IDIOT MOTHERFUCKING JURGEN LEITENER GOD DAMN FOOL BOOK COLLECTING-. Yeah no.

Julia and Trevor: 3/10 they deserve to be together (on the list nOT ROMANTICALLY). Don't like either of these, idk.

Mikaele: 7/10 I like it alot. I don't want the name but I do like it, funky smuggler dude gets a good rating.

Neil (Lagorio): 7/10 he shouldn't be on this list but I like his name. This is probably a side effect of being in the aftg fandom.

Nikola: 4/10 go sexy mannequin go. I'm running out of thoughts in my brain, funky but not actually.

OLIVER: 9/10 I like this one. It's going on The List ™, maybe Ollie instead of Oliver, hmmmm this requires more thought.

Rosie the receptionist: 3/10 yes her title is required here. I don't want the name I just think she should be here.

The Admiral: 10/10 happy hunting king. I don't want to be named the Admiral but actually I kind of do, he gets 10/10 for obvious reasons.

Sebastian Skinner from mag I-can't-remember-which: 8/10 unobservant king. he shouldn't be here either but I want his name, Bad vibes on the name but I still want it, hmmm.

Vampires: 1/10 I don't like them. They were the last thing on the list of characters I was looking at and I think it's funny, someday I'll become a my immortal character.

By that point, what information DOES basil have in regard to his profession?

actually now that i think about, follow up on the basil ask, how does the information Kira have on his job differ from basil's?

at some point, kira does find out that gerry worked with the usher foundation for work (which is part of the reason they end up giving their statement) but i think gerry never really offers like, a detailed explanation because of who he is as a person so most of their conversations in the vein of job discussion is kira half-jokingly referencing monsterhunter media and asking him how true to life it is which gets like, varied results. ex: “how van helsing-y are the people you used to work with?” “hmm... 6.” “on a scale of?” “yeah.” or gerry going into like, a detailed response because he doesn’t want them too involved or too traumatized but sometimes you really do just have to rant about that day you had like ten years ago. kira finds it all fascinating

they both have heard a fair amount of details about different leitner hunts, partially because it’s easy to edit out the supernatural bits (basil just thinks rare book hunters are insane), and because a good portion of gerrys knowledge comes from facts he learned trying to distinguish if a book was a leitner or not. to basil, this translates to “you need to know a lot about the classics to catch one of the rare misprints” but with kira he’s like “yeah, actually, sometimes when a book’s magic, the copyright is a few years before the actual novel it was inspired by was published. weird, right?” he also knows how to date furniture. every time basil and kira bring gerry to a secondhand shop they find out about a new skill. it’s astounding.

what kira doesn’t know, though, is how much fighting is involved in getting a leitner. like, at most, he’ll mention having to go undercover with the lightless flame to get their book, but he absolutely won’t mention how he got his burn scars. doesn’t mean he’ll explain enough about the cult for kira to really get how dangerous they are, but it also doesn’t mean they don’t remember him joking about said scars & draw their own conclusion. generally, gerry doesn’t see a reason to hide things if someone Knows, but he tends to give, like, the version of events you’d tell a ten-year-old. gerry keay kidzbop addition. so like, after living together for a while, kira does know a lot about what he’s done, just... not how dangerous it was

he doesn’t really talk about working for the institute that much so kira kind of just assumed he was like, a vampire hunter for hire. gertrude was only unusual in that as a boss she sucked super hard.

basil, meanwhile, has seen gerry’s collection of extremely eclectic knowledge, the fact that he seems like, ridiculously knowledgable about historical details basil would never think about, and the clown thing, xe’s put together a timeline of gerry having to work a few strange jobs to get by and then... becoming a.... historian? or a historical consultant? to the... police? yes xe’s aware of how ridiculous it sounds but it’s either that or all the fights gerry got into in america were because some weird rich lady hired him to find her a book and everyone else that was looking for it was a yugioh villain. this is gerry though so xe hasn’t ruled it out completely

basil also knows a lot about gerry’s finances. it doesn’t actually help xir figure out anything job related, other than gerry seems pretty used to surviving on an unstable paycheck, which has kind of like, narrowed down what kind of “stranger jobs” xe thinks gerry worked but definitely at least one of them involved breaking a few laws. it’s probably better if xe doesn’t ask for specifics

A Theory for People Who Listen to the Magnus Archives

First of all, hello! I made a post yesterday asking about TMA and its scariness and a lot of people responded and were very very sweet! So thank you for that. I’ve made it all the way through episode 17 (what I consider the scariest episode so far) and I’m doing wonderfully! But.... well I have some thoughts. Lemme explain.

When I was a kid I used to read the last chapter of a book and then go back and read from the start. I would do this because I wanted to know what the ending was so I could “look for it” in the way the author described people and scenarios or otherwise setup their ending. And because of that, I now have a rather nasty habit of guessing the endings of tv shows and movies/their plot twists. And I want to do that for the Magnus Archives now. Is this going to be wrong? Probably! But if you’re a fan maybe you can get a kick out of it?? Anyways here we go.

I think Jonathan Sims was wrong when he said that Gertrude had no system for filling the statements made to her. I just think Jonathan doesn’t realize what that system is because she kept it a secret- likely out of fear of Elias. I think rather than cataloging cases by date, or any other normal system, Gertrude cataloged them by what Thing caused the scary occurrence to happen.

I don’t know what the Things are yet. I don’t even know if the Things exist in the series I might just be making them up. But I think there are... well Things. Creatures, Entities, Cosmic Horrors, something of that nature. And I think that these Things all want something different, and as such have their specific brand of terror that they unleash. For example... I think that there is a Thing that deals with gluttony. With hunger. I think that this Thing is the one that gave that old lady Angela the ability to take away the gangster’s body parts in episode 14. I also think it might have something to do with the so called “vampires” that the homeless man experienced in episode 10 since they seemed so hungry and so out for blood. But this theory only took shape because of episode 12 and I actually think that episode is super important to the plot unfolding in front of me.

In episode 12, I think we get a name for one of these Things. “The Lightless Flame.” I think that this Thing has a hunger for anger and destruction. I don’t know what the other one in the episode is... I could have sworn they called it something like the Watchful Eye or the Staring Eye but I can’t find it in the transcript so I might have made that up but! I think Gerard is being controlled by the Eye Thing. It explains the eyes all over him, and maybe that necklace symbolizes a pact between him and the creature? But either way, Gerard is able to accomplish some really crazy stuff and he seems almost otherworldly in the way he so casually handles the chanting man who I think might have been possessed by the Lightless Flame Thing. (In general I think the Things have to possess people in order to do what they want to do, but the people they possess still have normal lifespans hence why they die and why different people would be popping up.)

I also think that Jane Prentiss might be one of these Things or be possessed by them, as well as that Agnes woman, but the two have each only come up once so that’s more of like a guess than anything else??? I might be really wrong including those two I feel much more certain about Gerard.

But! I can hear you asking yourself (or laughing at me from where you stand in Season 4), “If this was Gertrude’s filing system, why didn’t she label them? And how come Jonathan didn’t notice that that was the system she was using?” First of all- Jonathan didn’t notice because he’s so skeptical!! If the filing system isn’t nice and neat and logical he’s not going to notice the pattern. But secondly... I think that Gertrude didn’t label her system because she didn’t want someone to know she was onto this. Onto these Things. She didn’t want ELIAS to know.

I trust Elias as far as I can throw him. The guy is sus!!! No doubt about it!!! And even if this theory is wrong I’ll stand by the fact that he’s probably going to turn out to be evil eventually. But I think that Elias if possessed by one of the Things. Maybe the one responsible for all the creepy books... one that wants knowledge or to spread misinformation or something like that. And I think Gertrude figured him out. In episode 11, Dreamer, Jonathan very casually mentions that Elias told him Gertrude was “killed in the line of duty.” And we know that she died in the Archives. From that episode we also know that her death was.... really bad. Bad enough to drive this unnamed person to make a statement at the Institute. If Elias really is possessed by one of these things, and if he found out that Gertrude was onto them? Well... we saw in episode 12 what a Thing is capable of when they want someone dead. Elias could have very well eradicated Gertrude and then replaced her with SOMEONE WHO WOULD DOUBT HER FILING SYSTEM AND COMPLETELY TEAR IT APART TO REPLACE IT WITH SOMETHING MORE “LOGICAL.” So the knowledge of the Things, the ones committing these horrors in their own special ways, would die with her.

TLDR; I’m on episode 17 but I like making predictions. I predict that Jonathan Sims was wrong when he said Gertrude had no system of filing statements. I just think she kept that system a secret because she didn’t trust Elias. I believe the system grouped the statements by the Things (cosmic horrors or other entities) responsible for the acts described in the statements. I think the Things are something like the Lightless Flame described in episode 12- they want specific things to happen and they possess people to do them. I think Gertrude was killed by Elias because she knew this.

How would you sort Gertrude , Hamlet’s mother , with the sorting hat chats ? She is a pretty ambiguous character like Ophelia .

Gertrude is either a Gryffindor secondary who doesn’t care… or a Slytherin secondary who really doesn’t care. She’ll sit and watch these jokers plot - and whenever she *does* bother to say something, it’ll be insanely direct, and insanely CORRECT in a way that feels like either a Gryff secondary, or a Slyth that isn’t bothering to perform. So many famous Hamlet quotes are snarky Gertrude one-liners “The lady doth protest too much” “More matter with less art” (Cordelia of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was named after the wrong Shakespeare lady, is all I’m saying.)

But when Laertes busts in with his mob Gertrude yells, “Oh this is counter, you false Danish Dogs!” and physically restrains him. Which feels way too Gryffindor. I want to say that’s who she is, underneath all the toxic Slytherin Secondary culture of Elsinore Castle. Sure, she brings in Rosencranz and Guildenstern to spy on Hamlet instead of talking to him directly, and sure she talks about Ophelia and Polonius very differently when they’re dead versus when they’re alive, and *yes* her account of Polonius’ death isn’t… accurate. But that scene, where Gertrude and Hamlet bond and get on the same page? The way they do that is by screaming true things at each other until they both calm down.

(one of these days I’m going to sort Hamlet, and like… I actually think he might be a Gryffindor secondary too.)

Also, I know it’s up to the production if Gertrude knows she’s drinking poisoned wine at the end or not. But if she does know - then oh boy is that the move of a desperate Gryffindor secondary.

Figuring out Gertrude’s primary… tricky, because Gertrude’s motivations are mysterious on purpose. Gertrude married her brother-in-law two months after her husband died. That’s weird, and Hamlet wants to know why. Was she weak? Tricked? Horny?

I think the best clue is the way Gertrude’s two husbands are characterized. Her first husband was a warrior king: intense, scary, dominating (and was *totally* abusive to Hamlet, I just know it). Her second husband is, well, a party boy who looks at her with heart eyes, and is really charming when he wants to be (I get it) (I also get why she starts to get kind of bored and disgusted with him, when he continues to be a party boy while his kingdom falls apart)

I *think* Gertrude’s story is about a Slytherin Primary shifting allegiance from her husband to her son. I think it is very, very telling how her priorities switch from Claudius’ motivations (have a good time, distract Hamlet) to Hamlet’s motivations (listen to Horatio, keep Hamlet safe.)

tl;dr

Slytherin / Gryffindor with a Slytherin secondary model (everyone in Elsinore castle seems to have a Slytherin secondary model). There is definitely a case for a Gryffindor Primary Gertrude, but at the moment i’m leaning Slyth.

okay so looking at tma fic in general and tma time-travel fic and the various ways they decide to resolve things has given me an idea for a time travel fix-it fic premise that, like, I almost certainly will never write because way too many writing projects but it is Haunting me so I need to blab about it somewhere

so clearly the way that the ‘time travel’ / ‘knowledge of the future’ bit works is that Jon stumbles across a book that he assumes is a Leitner but then there’s no name in the front cover so he opens it proper and oooh this is weird but it’s too late the compulsion has set hold and and reads it, oops

the experience of reading it is the experience of fuck-it-feels-like living the entire timeline of the show up through the end of episode 160

(actually all the way through When Jon Finally Dies if he ever does but the important bit is he gets that knowledge of the timeline)

(the book is channeling the power of the Ceaseless Watcher, it’s all about knowledge, although very specifically in my brain this book is something that future!Jon and future!Martin constructed and sent back, which still tracks because hey Archivist is an Avatar of the Watcher. it’s just important to me that this is active action as an attempt to prevent the apocalypse and not dumb luck)

so Jonathan Sims now knows his future and because I have strong opinions about memory/ personality/ what makes a person, has arguably just been replaced with his future self.

‘oh fuck’ Jon says

‘I ended the world so I gotta fix this’

but how does he fix this, because oops Elias is still stupidly powerful and is going to notice if anything is up so he can’t act weird

but he can’t bring anyone else in on this because he doesn’t want to Curse Them with such Angsty Knowledge

he is acting a little bit weird, Martin notices that he’s acting weird because he is now being nice to Martin

‘this cannot be how the universe exists, Jon is always mean to me,’ Martin goes. ‘like I want the universe to exist this way but Something Is Up With Jon and it would be selfish of me not to investigate just because Jon is actually being nice to me’

Martin stumbles across the book and reads it too

‘oh fuck’ Martin says and immediately goes and talks to Jon and Jon has terrible selfish mixed feelings because he missed his Martin but also didn’t want Martin to have to go through everything he went through but also now Jon is not alone in trying to figure out how to alter this timeline without Elias noticing

(’wait what gave me away,’ Jon goes)

(’you were being nice to me,’ Martin goes)

(’fuck I really do need to be meaner to everyone don’t I,’ Jon goes. ‘it’s just really hard I’ve had Character Growth and I don’t want to be an asshole again’)

(’well suck it up you’re going to blow our cover,’ Martin goes. ‘maybe you should have thought of that before Being An Asshole.’ he immediately feels bad at Jon’s Very Sad Face. ‘you weren’t actually that much of an asshole you were just under stress and prickly and didn’t realize that the people you weren’t appreciating could be people that you would lose and now you do and that’s fine but you gotta still treat them like you’re an Asshole.’)

(’fine,’ Jon goes.)

so now they’re trying to figure out how to stop Elias

but also their main priority is to stop Tim and Sasha from dying at this point and they kind of figure that Elias doesn’t know the timeline and as long as he’s getting what he wants which is naive Jon stumbling through interactions with Entities and getting marked but not killed, he won’t suspect anything, and he doesn’t know Tim and Sasha are going to die so that at least is something immediate they can fix

‘I want to murder Jonah,’ goes Martin

‘you are super valid but also Gertrude tried that and was 1000% more badass than any of us and she ended up dead so maybe we should concentrate on saving our friends like we’ve got a few years to figure out how to do that,’ goes Jon

‘fine,’ goes Martin

Tim and Sasha notice that something is up, OBVIOUSLY, because Jon was weird-nice for like a week and a half then is weird-mean like he’s actually trying to be mean and hates it, and has gone from brushing off Martin all the time to pretending to brush Martin off but obviously secretly pining

he also gives off feral apocalypse energy

Martin meanwhile is pulling this all off perfectly

he fooled Elias and Peter and everyone else back when he was faking out the Lonely, he can handle this

Elias does notice Jon acting weird and thinks this is a soap opera workplace romance gone wrong but because he hasn’t seen all of it as Jon and Martin have been very careful to be using Martin’s Lonely powers when they want to Actually Talk and make it look like they’ve just casually wandered off when Elias isn’t paying attention to them so Elias doesn’t actually look like anything is up, he calls Jon in for a ‘performance review’ to make sure

(Martin has Lonely powers and Jon has Archivist powers from the future and they can both feed off of the long terrible fears that they remember from the horrible horrible lives and deaths they and the entire world had in their own timeline, just give me this I need a plot device that can explain why they can Actually Talk to each other while not being able to use the tunnels)

anyways Elias starts his performance review and pokes about Martin

‘um yeah,’ Jon confesses. ‘I um had a very awkward conversation with Martin because it seemed like he was being nice to me and I asked him about his feelings and he Confessed to me that he Liked me and I was caught by surprise and was thinking about it for a few days because idk nobody ever Likes me but then came to my senses and um but also it’s totally inappropriate because I’m his boss and I told him and we’re trying to forget that the conversation ever happened and just go back to concentrating on the statements’

‘you seem very nervous right now,’ Elias goes

‘please do not report me to HR,’ Jon goes looking appropriately mortified and trying to remember everything Martin has been coaching him about lying by telling people what they want to hear. ‘I know I should have rejected him immediately it just caught my by surprise that he would actually Say It To My Face people have been saying a lot of honest things to my face it’s very weird and I know that I shouldn’t have run away from that conversation and acted Weird for a few days but I did come to the Correct Conclusion I am very devoted to this job and don’t want to do anything but this job and didn’t do anything with Martin we just had a conversation and I’m really trying to do a good job here and please don’t fire me’

‘nope you’re good that’s fine concentrate on your job,’ Elias says, quite satisfied that his Archivist is developing truth powers very quickly

Tim and Sasha are not so easy to fool

Tim and Sasha find the book

Sasha, who worked in Artifact Storage, is Actually Smart and goes ‘dON’T READ THAT’

Tim reads it anyways

‘oh fuck I die stopping the apocalypse’

Tim doesn’t seem to die from reading the book and doesn’t seem to change except for being given this foreknowledge but Sasha is Smart so she doesn’t read it. Tim does fill her in on her future.

‘oh fuck I die when a weird worm-lady attacks? and don’t even get to help with the apocalypse? that’s bullshit.’

they start their own little huddle conspiracy

which Martin immediately finds

‘nO YOU GUYS YOU GOTTA BE MORE CAREFUL TALKING ABOUT THIS STUFF’ Martin explains the future and methods of communicating without Elias watching, which is mostly him subtly hiding them in the Lonely

(’why do you and Jon have secret special powers that’s not fair,’ Tim goes)

(’because we went through literal hell??? and also didn’t die??? idk maybe if we keep you from dying you will also get special powers but seriously Tim they are very evil these are Evil Powers we don’t want them they just kind of happened to us in the process of trying to survive,’ Martin goes.)

‘so what is the plan,’ Sasha goes. ‘like besides us not dying how are you actually going to deal with the real apocalypse’

‘well we want to kill Elias but we haven’t figured that out yet because he’s watching our every move perfectly and if we’re not acting like he think we should act he’ll dispose of us and start again with a new Archivist,’ Martin goes.

‘okay but like in your story there is a part where Peter Lukas personally escorts you to the panopticon and tells you to kill Elias/Jonas and you go no and Elias wins the bet,’ Sasha says. ‘what if you just murder him then, he says he wasn’t going to stop you and if he tries you’ve got another Avatar backing you up’

‘huh we didn’t think of that,’ Martin goes. ‘why didn’t we think of that. I swear there is a Very Good Reason we didn’t think of that. um. uh. there’s also the problem anyone working in the Archives will die if he dies unless they are powerfully enough connected the Ceaseless Watcher which is like. MAYBE Jon.’

‘W H Y did you not lead with that,’ Tim goes

‘yeah I really agree you should have led with that,’ Sasha goes

‘this has been a very stressful time and we have been doing our best and right also everyone can quit they just need to blind themselves to do it,’ Martin goes. ‘or I guess pledge allegiance to a different evil god but that is really unpleasant you have to sacrifice fear to it or you starve’

(’okay why did you not lead with--’ Sasha goes. ‘I’m starting to really see some benefits for being an evil fear-monster,’ Tim goes. ‘Like we could be ethical evil fear-monsters. like ethical vampires. only scare really shitty terrible people who deserve it and, like, scare but not kill.’)

(Martin looks like he is about to cry.)

(’okay maybe not p l e a s e stop making that face I cannot stand your puppy-dog-but-also-on-the-verge-of-tears eyes,’ Tim goes)

(Sasha stops death-glaring at him as Martin looks slightly less like he is about to cry.)

‘so everyone loves rituals what if we, like. construct a secret ritual. that you��re saying Jon is dumb powerful chosen one Avatar right so let’s just, like. switch over being the ‘Heart of the Institute’ from Jonah to him. big proper paperwork ritual passing on of ownership claiming his position as Jonah’s heir or something,’ Sasha says

‘that seems like just the sort of bullshit that might actually work. Sasha you are the smartest person in the world and I’m pretty sure the apocalypse wouldn’t have happened if you had survived the Prentiss attack,’ Martin says

‘actually honestly Gertrude wanted you as her replacement that sounds very true and is probably why Elias didn’t choose you,’ Jon says. he has entered the room at this point as he was curious where literally all of his assistants had wandered off to. he does actually have work to get done the Archives are A Mess and Martin has been gone at this point for far longer than it takes to Make Tea so he figured something might be up and if there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s finding Martin in the Lonely

‘real rude to not let us in on this,’ Tim goes. ‘also are you SURE this is not a weird Leitner fucking with you’

‘we’ve obsessively kept track of the things that are supposed to be happening and they’re all happening on the right days and stuff,’ Jon goes.

‘okay so let’s stop like two apocalypses and not die,’ Sasha goes.

the rest of the fic is everyone subtly not-so-subtly trying to recreate the exact timeline while also making events Less Terrible while also trying to seem Not Too Competent

because this is a fic there’s gotta be adorable ridiculous fluff so everyone decides that the Cover Story in case Elias thinks people are acting weird has got to be Jon and Martin starting to secretly date

(Jon and Martin are in absolute h e l l over this and it is a hilarious comedy of errors because they didn’t tell everyone else that they got together they both decided that was too private so everyone else is aggressively trying to actually matchmake them through this all and they’re now too embarrassed to drop the act because Sasha has been giving them hell every time they have accidentally withheld information from her so it’s like. three layers of fake dating.)

(Elias decides all this drama is simultaneously the funniest thing he’s ever seen but also kind of a Bad Distraction and is subtly trying to break them up but doesn’t want to mess with things too much because he is Very Impressed with all the ‘progress’ Jon is making)

(Jon who is a complete badass and is mostly desperately attempting not to reveal all his powers)

(there are also a lot of different things that can go various ways. like do Basira and Melaine still join the Institute? I think they all read the book and make Informed Decisions about their futures but I have not decided yet what those Informed Decisions are. Daisy learns how to control Hunt powers without it overwhelming her, because Tim is totally right about it being possible to be an ethical fear-monster although as Jon and Martin can draw from the fear of the apocalypse-world they don’t really need it so it’s just a question of whether or not I want to give everyone else cool powers. we’re in a fix-it fic everyone gets cool powers without terrible consequences Because I Say So)

(Elias doesn’t give them trouble over this because he is delighted that he’s kind of collecting avatars of other Entities because it makes it really easy to make sure Jon has marks and he thinks this is his genius plan going even better than expected)

we get to episode 158

Martin really wants to dramatically kill Elias i m m e d i a t e l y but is waiting for a walkie-talkie signal that the ritual above is going as planned so he stumbles through all of the dialogue the same

“Then do it. Kill him and help me save the world.” Peter goes

Martin pauses in silence because oops there’s really not that much more Avoiding he can do

“No” Martin says.

Elias starts to laugh.

The Signal Comes Through

‘fUCK YEAH,’ Martin says. ‘F I N A L L Y. I am murdering him and I’m saving the world but this isn’t for you, asshole, and Imma deal with you next.’

it’s very satisfying

‘okay but what do you mean it’s not for me, you’re supposed to sit in the chair and help me look for the Extinction?’ Peter goes

‘nah fuck that I’m from the future and I do what I want that was me stopping the Jonah Magnus’s final ritual,’ Martin goes. ‘you really think I fell for that Extinction bullshit you aren’t nearly as good a liar as you think you are, you stay right there and we’ll decide what to do with you when everyone gets down here it’s Jon’s Institute now and we’re both very pissed at you’

Peter tries to escape into the Lonely

it Does Not Work as Martin has More Angst than Peter to draw from so is Way More Powerful

everyone gets down there

‘okay but why DON’T we try to look for the Extinction.’ Sasha says. ‘that seems to be a pretty important thing to stop.’

at this point everyone agrees Sasha has the best ideas

have I mentioned that every single female character is very gay for Sasha

quite frankly maybe Tim too

Sasha is a Badass and this fic portrays her as Gertrude Robinson’s Rightful Heir

she Deserves Good Things

and she is Gonna Stop All Future Apocalypses so actually going through with Peter’s plan is maybe not a terrible idea

they do the thing but in a careful way that traps no one in the chair and get the info

the Extinction is still very stoppable

there are lots of ways but honestly the best way to do it is to manipulate humanity into actually Being Better and not being on the brink of extinction

‘this is my Institute now let’s use it to fucking save the world,’ Jon goes

and they use all their knowledge and power to go from being a massive conspiracy about causing the apocalypse to being a massive conspiracy about bringing kindness and preventing wars and stopping the rise of fascism in politics and poking humanity from behind the scenes into something Better that can Rise Above its fears

and everyone lives happily ever after

but yeah this entire fic is around the premise of ‘what if the actual fix-it isn’t Change Everything To Stop Bad Things From Happening it’s Keep Everything The Same Until We’re Handed The Opportunity To Stab Jonah On A Silver Platter And Then Take It’ which I have yet to see a fic do and oops that kind of grew away from me there but anyways that’s it that’s the fic

And then we got to Michael, and that hatred was cemented. I was complaining about this to a friend, when I was brutally reminded that I AM Gertrude Robinson. Or at least, my virtual Skyrim self is.

The Girls Girls Girls Tag

Tagged by @sundaynightnovels! Thank you, friend! This is an excellent tag game; it really made me think about my ladies. Thanks, @cawolters for making it!

Happy belated Women’s Day! Guide: answer these seven Qs in the voice of your female character(s), and then tag somebody! I have a lot of women in my WIP.

So... I’ll pick and choose for each question based on who has the best answers. These ladies have a lot to say.

1. Who was your mother and what did she teach you?

Gemma: It’s common knowledge in town that my mom taught me all my apothecary stuff. You know, how to use plants to help people and all that. How not to burn yourself on copper tools. What soil types are best for which plants. I don’t- I don’t talk about her much. I don’t like to. Sorry.

Treena: My mother watched a lot of Star Trek, so she was very invested in helping me grow up to be confident and independent. Ready to take on the world, so to speak. She taught me to question, to pursue what interests me, and to not let anyone stand in my way. Unless they couldn’t be moved. But I haven’t met many people who couldn’t be moved.

Jill: Oh, man. My mom is a sweet lady who baked me red velvet vampire cupcakes for my sixteenth birthday. Took me to my first concert, too! And the renaissance faire, before I could drive. The woman had more throw pillows than I could count and supported the crap out of her family. She showed me how easy crock pot meals are, how to change a tire, how to find the best deals on Ebay, and how to negotiate. The best thing she taught me, though, is to never be ashamed of who you love and what you like. “We waste so much time hiding for no good reason,” she used to say. I miss her every day.

Harry: Never knew my birth mom. But my mom is amazing. She was a teacher for thirty years and taught me everything wrong with the system and how to fight back. Taught me to never let anyone else tell me my place, too.

2. Do you have any sisters (related or not)?

Mel: I do have an older sister. She’s... bossy? No unrelated sisters, however.

Mary: Two! Stephanie works for a non profit and Jane is a candle maker.

Jill: The Ladies are all my sisters. I’m an only child, so it’s nice to be able to choose such awesome people to be my family.

Harry: Mary was my first sister. Then Treena came along and Jill followed shortly after. Now we’re all related, whether we wanted to be or not. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

3. How has your gender shaped your path in life?

Jill: Wow. I never really thought about it before. I mean, sure, I’ve been looked down on and taken for granted and everything, but I grew up in the 60s and 70s, right when the norms started changing. Wasn’t ever really down with the apple pie kind of life, either, which made it a little harder for me. It was tough to find jobs when I was younger, especially because my sparkling personality was at odds with my being a woman. I tried to wear nice dresses and normal makeup and all that crap for a while, but I felt so stifled that I gave up. So I worked in record stores and smoke shops and art galleries and places like that. So I guess you could say it shaped my path my showing me what my path wasn’t.

Gemma: It’s never been a big deal for me. I’m still pretty darn young, so my path isn’t totally solid yet. And I grew up here in Linsay, which is very different from the rest of the world, in my opinion. There aren’t a lot of “shoulds” and “musts” for women here. Since we’ve all come from places that we needed to leave for our own reasons, no one is really inclined to push their judgments and opinions onto other people. Well. It’s been fun watching Oz actively adjust his words when he talks to me. Going from “young ladies don’t,” to “as a person who hasn’t experienced much” was very entertaining for teenage me. Being a woman hasn’t really impacted my life very much, overall. I mean, I wasn’t too social when I was younger, which I guess is weird for girls, but who cares. I’m happy how I am.

4. What does the woman you admire look like? Who is she?

Gemma: Just look at my plants: Gertrude Elion, Elizabeth Blackwell, Patroclus, Rosalind Franklin, Mae C. Jemison, and Jane Cooke Wright. Except Patroclus, obviously. He was a different personal choice. Women who break new ground in spite of the world. And they look like me.

5. Why do you think women are considered the gentler sex?

Mel: Where I come from, genders are viewed a bit differently. Mostly because out appearances are greatly augmentable. I mean, they are here, too, but not to the same degree. The way humans evolved, women were often judged to be weaker, since they carried children and were softer, physically, I suppose. And children were always viewed as weaker and in need of protection, so that must have influenced views of the women taking care of them... This is a very complicated question. I don’t think I’m qualified to answer.

Jill: Fear, obviously.

Treena: I don’t know many wholly gentle women. Or fair, or weak, as we tend to be called. I could go into a whole schpiel about sexism and “the system,” but that’s not really the point here. I believe women are viewed as “gentle” because, historically, we were, and continue to be, viewed as caretakers, and as caretakers, we carry the majority, if not the whole, of the emotional burden of the family, or family unit. To put it more simply, we are because for so long, we had to be.

6. What is a piece of your personality that you are proud of?

Mel: I’m most proud of my curiosity. It may not be very special, but it allows and encourages me to be very good at what I do, and to keep learning and growing as a person. It keeps life interesting.

Gemma: I actually like being stubborn. It means I never give up, even when things get tough. And in my life, things have gotten pretty tough. And it’s not that I get what I want by being stubborn, it’s that I won’t let life get the best of me.

Jill: My ability to forgive and forget. Not at the same time, of course.

Treena: Persistence, definitely. It’s helped me at every difficult turn in my life.

Harry: I’m proud of my capacity to care. I like looking out for people. Not because I’m a woman, but because I was raised to make sure there was a seat at the table for everyone.

Mary: My artistic side. I feel like I can look at the world in a different way than other people. One that makes the world more beautiful.

7. When did you accept your own body and its strengths/weaknesses?

Mary: When I turned 40, ha.

Jill: Ask me again in ten years.

Treena: In the middle of grad school. You can only survive on smoothies and naps for so long. It doesn’t help that I had to spend so much time indoors and underground, either. I learned a lot about my limitations during those years.

Mel: A body has no limitations. The only limitation is your imagination.

I made myself take several breaks so I could give my frie d who is listening to it at the same time as me a chance to catch up. Honestly just posting them so I have them saved somewhere but whatever.

ep 41: real graham wrote keep watching before he was replaced. Jon feels like he's being watched. But they werent replaced by things related to the eye. It's the web that's on the box that replaces them. Endless hallways and doors to nowhere. I bet nicholas will have ideas what entity this relates to. If it even does. They're like the tunnels in the one with the builder guy. Tunnels closing in etc. Also like the cave diving one. He's assuming it's just one

ep 42: so 100 gecs? (IM SORRY I LIKE 100 GECS BUT LMAO) so there's some entity related to music right? There's the piper episode and the 27 w/ the calliope. Ah yes, this season is gonna be the season of Paranoid!Jon

ep 43: section 31? fucking books. god no. smashed lights? cult lady did that. covered the lights too. she mentioned a spooky clown doll. thats not random.

ep 44: is this that same circus that got mentioned before? it is! the pipe organ! pop off organ! pipe off! mouth on the stomach! yes! mouths in unusual places my beloved!

ep 45: antiques! like that one ep!

ep 46: every time books get mentioned i sigh. hhh sus smells. it got brighter. I get the vibes occasionally that the dark and the eye are sorta at odds with eachother. GRRR BARK BARK LEITNER. ayyy ex altiora. entity go brr. which entity do we thing it is? my guess is The Dark. The book buyer's name is Mike. He has scars? Electricity? The childhood friend of the guy who got it later on perhaps? The Vast? its formatted like an entity idk. This happened before the other one. He got trapped in the wood carving. a win for the web lol spiders go brr

ep 47: did i hear spiral? ITS THE NOT THING FROM THE EPISODE WITH NOT GRAHAM "it didnt move, it shifted" is like the exact same sentence as before. ay john's starting to remember. the laughing woah thats weird. is "michael" one of the entities? "you make it seem like theres a war" supports my theory that theres a struggle between a couple of the entities. I said i thought it was the eye and the dark i believe but im not sure. its whatever entity michael is vs the worms? what did nicholas say the worms were again? The Corruption? still dont know which one michael is tho.

Had to take a break after that episode. smth about the quality of michael's voice makes me feel like im gonna slip into one of those states where it feels like nothing is real, so i got a nice cold glass of water.

ep 48: jesus ok this one's kidna corny. you're telling me love made the crowd go away come on now. Ur losing it big J. also shouldnt it be more sus that "sasha" is so unaffected by the worm incident/ finding of gertrude's body

ep 49: haven't we heard hector's name before? oh is he the crime guy? fucking jared... so it's a throat? chompa chompa. (it's just a little bit hot) the good part about these episodes is that we know whoever's telling the story isn't gonna die. even if it's a close call, they're not dead. hotworth? ok not jared keay. it bothers me how theres so many repeated names, can they not come up with other names? "sasha"'s computer is breaking... sus. Elias our favorite weed man! jon ur so paranoid lmao

ep 50: robert smirk, at it again. this is like that one episode with the old dude who locked his door. who said idle beforehand? was it smirk? fingertips. thats so weird lmao. bahahah tim

ep 51: simon fairchild. im sure jon will mention the name at the end i cant remember where we've heard it. this is just like the cavediving episode. a hand? there was a hand in the last one right? the scalpel! and an eye thing. she's trying to throw them off.

ep 52: thats the guy from before! with the hearts! god i hate this guy writing the statement hh. lights blowing, and brackish water. we know how this ends but its still tense. rainer? reigner? rain man. we've seen him before

ep 53: pls not a leitner. oh boy mans scratched out his eyes. rip skelly. why would gertrude have had this statement off the books? jon stabbed himself?? bruh im? big man are you okay

ep 54: cockney boys! ayy its our favorite delivery men. she cut out their eyes. she knew that the eye was a thing?

ep 55: oily residue like the retirement home!

ep 56: worms? no. spiders?? bruhh. aaah yelling :(( aww martin anyways yeah i called it about paranoid!jon he needs to take a nap and drink some hot chocolate and calm down for once please

ep 57: just remembered, i think theres an entity called The Lonely?? This feels pretty lonely idk. fairchild, lukas/ lucas, some spooky place in norway idk. "sasha" knew he was recordinig hmm suspicious cmon jon figure it out. Sasha and tom. hm sus. for records sake i feel liek i should note here that I did have it spoiled to me simply that that's not sasha, but thats really all. i assumed it was like the thing that happened to graham in S1

ep 58: i feel like i recognize the name eustice (?) wick. someone please tell me im not just watching jon's descent into madness over the course of this podcast. im hoping it isnt so but, (and pardon the dsmp reference) im getting real wilbur vibes from this one.

ep 59: oh dear ok account from the fielding house. swirling designs? Spiral time? oh boyy. oh wait! 6 inch hole in the middle! is it not a spiderweb type design on the table? thats what i had assumed but that description sounds more like a spiral thing. cobwebs is a Web thing. ayy nicholas was right! the box goes in the table! the place that she kissed him was burning. Raymond is an avatar of The Web and agnes is the burning one. Lightless Flame! Why did she save him? i guess she was against this guy eating ppl or wtvr but why was she at the halfway house then? I think she's like michael.

ep 60: the eye go brr

ep 61: breacon and hope once again. tom. sasha's boyfriend. vampires sleep in coffins. the guy just walking in seems similar to the mind control of the vampires

ep 62: bones! its that one leitner. is this mother keay? the mom of gerard? this is what happened to her right? her skin was found on hooks? oh yeah thats what i thought the pages are made of skin. yeesh. The End!! sounds like an entity. phrased like one, and i think i remember it. are the people trapped in the pages? or... kept?

ep 63: eaten by the darkness! cavediving episode! (just like eaten by the sky) did my brain make up one called The Vast? it feels like it should be one, and all these episodes have some similar description about their feelings when they do whatever chosen hobby they have. ok now this one kinda feels like the dark. lights going out and all that. ok so not really a The Vast thing, its more of a Dark thing. feckin smirk gah.

ep 64: dice! the death guy! the death game thing! the person tricked somebody else into becoming death and then they were immortal? but if the egyptians wanted to kill him or punish him or whatever couldnt they just kill him? it worked in the end when he had the person giving the statement stab him, that did the job and actually killed him

ep 65: finally jon is actually acknowledging something is wrong.

So we know Mary Keay was revived most likely with the book by gerard.

Gertrude was way more aware of the entities than Jon. mary keay referenced The End openly and she cut the eyes out of her magazines and all that which makes me think she was aware of The Eye

ep 66: please not buried alive pleeaase not buried alive. lukas of the tundra? didnt we hear the name lukas before? she wanted it to be difficult to find important files because that way bad people couldnt find them?

ep 67: agnes... the girl in the hilltop house? agnes poppin off!! he's really not gonna question how she knew where he lived?? oh no D: the tree. were they the ones working on the house? aww they kissi- OH DEAR. why did she kiss him? it seemed like she cared about him? also she could kiss that other dude on the cheek and he was fine, but maybe it was cuz she was younger? lightless flame go brrrrr.

ep 68: oh god books. yup its bitchboy leitner. mans said "this seems supernatural, its a werd book!" bruuh.

ep 69: heh nice. aw cmon jon listen to martin. gahhh spiders. is that the class we heard about in the other doctor one with the teeth apple? some kind of psych class? oh dear. fucking spiders. aaaah. web do be goin brr. it's like the girl in the homeless shelter! who made the guy leave and she took his bed.

ep 70: is this gonna be the book that mary keay had? Most likely a leitner no matter what. Oh boy latin. Why did it start in latin then become old English? I'm guessing people put them in the book? He cant burn it. Phrophecies go brr. He says eh it's a decade in the future it's fine. Its gonna have changed. Ayy called it. Just accept it, it's a magic book. His death is getting closer. Leitner didnt make them but just collected them? Gertrude burned the book! She burned them down there so no one would know.

ep 71: oh boy tunnels. Our favorite thing /s. is The Buried a thing? Idk this seems pretty buried. Oh dear he's trapped here isnt he. "Not enough space to move, never enough to breathe" is that from the computer episode? With the guy who uploaded his consciousness? Somebody living down there. Hmmmm. Guesses: tom, sasha's boyfriend. Gertrude herself? (Though I doubt it)

ep 72: sweeney todd moment. Meat. The slaughter? Idk we'll see what the supernatural part is. Meat is meat. Similar to the slaughterhouse episode. Is it fucking Jared I swear to God it better not be. Hooligan teenagers, you know how it is. Meat is me lmao. Is the kid gonna be in the freezer. Ok that's good. OWW. Oddly textured candles. Made from people? Human fat or smth?
