I will never stop being pressed about The Last Court shutting down. Yeah, I know you can still read all the events on the wiki and get all the lore and stuff, but you just don't get what it feels like when you're out there, valiantly trying to save your kidnapped cringefail lover, failing skill checks, losing health again and again, only to find him pissing on a tree.

100 Serault Prompts
Inspired by the atmospheric and enigmatic game, Dragon Age: The Last Court, here are some prompts for art or writing. Don't forget to send the prompt along with the number to help your creator out!
Utterly indebted to the #SaveSerault preservation project, and @silvanils Plot Guide here.
The black ocean of trees seethes under a fretful night-wind.
Nightmares breed like maggots in meat.
Wolves howling in council, or prayer, or song.
Gnomic messages scratched into fragments of bark with a knife-point.
Beware of crows.
Painted Masked Goddess in the bluebelled glade.
An inquisitive wind stirs in the woods.
Questing roots crawling over a secret, locking it away against the centuries.
The forest returns to its sleep and its long, green dreams.
Streams suddenly freezing despite the sun.
A laughing wolf.
A pensive bear.
A spider the size of a carthorse.
There are stranger directions than ‘North’ and ‘South’.
Power is a difficult steed to ride. Not everyone can stay in the saddle.
Today's answer could be tomorrow's treason.
A Baker’s Breeze, early in the morning. Upon it, the scent of bread rising in the ovens.
A coy breeze carries the sounds and smells of the market.
Spice. Lies. Laughter. The play of coin.
A grey wind drones in the fireplace.
A slow rain drones on the windows.
A hard wind blows from the east, carrying fat, gloating ravens.
A song of old Serault: the Stag and the Rose.
A star-wind, high and swift, pushes silver clouds to and fro beneath the moon.
The lap of the river upon the castle’s stone feet.
The scent of leaves and nodding barley.
White feathers drift like snow.
Eels in the dark rivers.
The Applewoods are dappled with shadow and filled with succulent midnights. Come closer.
The Biting Wind that Masked Andraste keeps leashed like a dog.
The sun swarms the river.
The Chateau’s four cats stretch out on the roof-tiles.
The wind eddies in corners, making dancing columns of dust. It comes from nowhere, goes nowhere. A Fade-wind, the Dowager calls it.
The Chateau’s pennants crack like whips.
“Payment in Glass” is the Serault motto.
Dappled in gemmy light.
The Green Chapel in the Deepwoods, where wolves go to pray.
A line of grey in the dark; fighting, failing, dying.
A sound like tearing silk.
Burning blue with rage.
Sun as warm as the touch of a hand.
A garland of aster and cuckoo-flowers.
The Masked Andraste isn’t as keen on chastity as her moon-faced sister.
A mage must be a poet, a philosopher, and a butcher.
To see behind the world.
To hold fire by the throat.
Familiar territory, but never quite safe.
Serault’s pride is like her forests: root-deep, thick-skinned, hard-won from the world’s edge.
A bereskarn.
Rune-strewn bones of a fell beast.
A forest victim: flowers sprouting from their eyes.
Hands burned to the blackened bone.
The Tower of Lights, as it never was: scraping the sky, mantled in light.
Weep tears of silver.
Smashing a horned mask of glass and gemstones.
Your true face: a horned mask of glass and gemstones.
The Glassworkers' Guildmaster elections.
This is the Grand Game. Play or drown.
A glass Guildmaster's sword, the hilt spinning fractures of light across the floor.
Freedoms for the Glassworkers: to leave, and leave to marry.
If it doesn't fight back, you drink it.
Secret liaisons with the Lover: Candlelit meetings. Fingers tangling briefly in the corridors. The door to your chambers creaking softly open when the guards change their watch. Stifled giggles as a servant passes.
A change of lovers, and the fallout.
An old tome. Dense, inseparable uncials cram the book. The ink fades. Mold speckles the flimsy pages.
A pig farmer advises the Marquis.
A grin as tight as a gallows noose.
A mosaic floor.
Honor is a game that others play.
Your Chevalier Commander, and her loyalty.
Serault Town: Gold stone, red roofs.
The Horned Knight's hold: a round tower, jagged as a chipped tooth, its floors all collapsed in on one another. A great tree grows within it, spreading a canopy of burgundy leaves where the roof once was.
Grass sparkling with shards of an old, shattered mirror.
Fat partridge, simmering in a pot with sweet onions and pale beans, then a plate of round cakes, peppered with poppyseed and laced with honey.
The mother has eyes of fire; the daughter, a heart of it.
Twilit riverbanks untrod by mortal feet, and rings of tall blue stones that were not raised by human hands…
A hall where the trees walk and the stones speak.
The Horned Knight: clad in armor of forest green, with an ivy cloak that hisses along the flagstones.
Hounds in the kennels, baying for the hunt.
The effects of High Twilight.
The effects of High Peril.
The effects of Rumors of Revolution.
The Dignity of the Huntress, Glass Rose of Serault: deadly, beautiful, adored, dreaded.
The Freedom of the Scholar, who might be the one to bring change to Serault for the good of the common folk.
The apples have interesting properties: astringent... intoxicating.
The Chateau stands on an island in mid-river.
The Acerbic Dowager (Counselor)
The Cheery Baron (Counselor)
The Dashing Outlaw (Accomplice or Bodyguard)
The Elegant Abbess (Counselor or Lover)
The Kindly Knight (Counselor)
The Muttering Banker
The Purveyor of Teas (Accomplice)
The Seneschal (Counselor)
The Silent Hunter (Bodyguard)
The Smiling Guildmistress (Counselor)
The Wayward Bard (Lover)
The Well-Read Pig-Farmer (Accomplice)
His Dour Lordship (Counselor)
The Scornful Sorceress
The Anchoress.

The Reign of Divine Justinia V - 9:34-9:41 Dragon
Divine Justinia V ruled for just a little over 6 years. One of the shortest known reign for a divine in Chantry history.
I would like to note that due to the nature of BioWare and the awareness of their timeline, travel times, and storylines, not all the events in the same year have a clear order of which came first.
Here is the general timeline of what occurred since her coronation to her death:
9:34 Dragon
Ascends as Divine of the Orlesian Chantry, formerly known as Revered Mother Dorthea.
Rejects Ser Otto Alrik's request for the Tranquil Solution in Kirkwall.
9:35 Dragon
Justinia makes a pilgrimage to the Temple of Sacred Ashes, passing through Haven. She announces that Haven shall be restored and rededicated to the service of Andraste.
Asks Pharamond to look into the nature of Tranquility, to discover if there is a way to "restrict magic without neutralizing the mind." She does so without the knowledge of Lord Seeker Lambert.
9:37 Dragon
Sends Leliana to Kirkwall to gather information on the threats occurring in Kirkwall, believing it to be from outside groups.
Divine Justinia tells Elthina to leave Kirkwall as it is no longer safe. Elthina declines.
Objects to Lady Seeker Nicoline's appointment of Seeker Lambert, citing that she found him too conservative during her interview with him.
9:38 Dragon
Published the Abridged Edition of the Chant of Light on 12 Harvestmere 9:38. The focus was to bring back the beauty of the original dialects and languages of the canticles.*
9:40 Dragon
(These following events are in order of how they happened as they take place over the course of the novel Asunder. Except for the where Justinia sends Cassandra and Leliana to Kirkwall. That takes place after the events of Asunder.)
Justinia sends Leliana to the University of Orlais to speak with Empress Celene about the state of instability in the empire's politics. During this meeting, Leliana makes a deal with Celene on Justinia's behalf; Justinia deals with the instability of the mages and templars in the wake of Anders attack on Kirkwall, while Celene deals with the unrest with Halamshiral/Orlais elves.
As part of the deal with Celene, Justinia is delivering a speech at a ball Celene threw for her (Celene doesn't make an appearance as she is marching on the elves in Halamshiral). The speech she is about to deliver is in support of mages. Though she is interrupted as Jeannot, a Libertarian Senior Enchanter from the White Spire, attempts to assassinate her.
Justinia authorizes Wynne to go rescue Pharamond, a Tranquil mage who has become possessed during his experiments into tranquility at Adamant fortress. Wynne brings Rhys, Evangaline, Shale, and Rhy's friend. Unknowing to all but Rhys, Cole tags along.
Justinia authorizes Pharamond to be made tranquil again at the advice of Lord Seeker Lambert, despite the protest of Wynne and Rhys.
Justinia sends Leliana to the White Spire to aid the mages in their revolt while calling Lord Seeker Lambert to her side to distract him.
Cassandra, Leliana, and a group of Seekers still loyal to the Divine are sent to Kirkwall to recruit Hawke for the role of leader of the Inquisition; believing that they will have influence to reach a resolution between the mages and templars.
9:41 Dragon
Divine Justinia calls for the Conclave one year after the start of the Mage-Templar War.**
In the summer, Justinia travels to Serault to determine if Serault should have the Shame lifted and the Chantry reopened. Depending on the player, determines if it is or not.
Justinia dies in the explosion at the Conclave at Corypheus' hand. This starts the events of Inquisition, presumably taking place in late autumn since the Conclave happens a year after the events of Asunder and after Justinia's visit to Serault.
Notes:
*Originally, in Origins, it was said the Chant of Light was written only in Tevene. As of 2014/Inquisition era lore, the Chant is now a collection of canticles from various languages.
**There is conflict on when this happens as her journal entry says she called for it a year after the start of the Mage-Templar war, which starts in late autumn. But the Conclave is known about during her visit to Serault which takes place in the summer. Suggesting the journal entry is referring more towards when the Conclave was scheduled then when she announced it. To add to this, Lord Seeker Lucius agrees to the Conclave before he meets with Corypheus and submits to Envy, presumably in the early months of 9:41; however, this is speculation.

Summary: A guide to the plot of Dragon Age: The Last Court, a text-based game that was deactivated on November 17th, 2020. This work is intended to be used as a resource to help fans both new and old enjoy the content this game had to offer, and I claim no ownership of the original game. (I have also included a link to the screenshot database gathered by fans in the months prior to the deactivation.)

This is it! The final section of this guide, which details the Feast of the Divine and various endings you can get in the Last Court!
If you promised the Horned Knight a place at the Feast, will you keep your word? Will you earn back the keys to the Sealed Chantry, or will you get in trouble for breaking into it early? Will you gain enough Favor from the Divine, or fail miserably because of a lack of resources?
Can you please the Divine greatly enough to free Serault of her Shame?

*** You may need to open the image in a new tab to get high res ***
... to do that on mobile, I think you click on the image. To do that on desktop, right click and select open image in new tab or something similar.
This reference is made out of a piece of the high resolution map by the wyrd sisters. It has estimated locations of Serault and its neighboring Marquisate town, Alyons. I didn't draw the border between the two but you can imagine it. I have it between Serault and Andoral's Reach, such that Alyons does not have much contiguous land and only has the 3 vassal villages nearby. That Marquisate is currently more powerful than Serault, and has additional lands that are not contiguous elsewhere. I forget what the term for that is, but there is one.
Also featured: the Last River that is meant to flow through Serault and make it a river port, plus some other rivers I made up and many newly named lakes. I didn't name every lake, but I named a lot of lakes if you see an unnamed lake, look for a near lake, add "petite" to its name, and there you go. I realized part way through they should probably be Lac __ if named in "Orlesian" and Lake __ if named in "Common" ... just assume people call them by both depending.
Wherever you put it, it is important that the Last River actually ends up flowing down past somewhere relevant, like near Andoral's Reach, and crossing the Imperial Highway! This is because if it was just a river that went or came from nowhere useful, like the marshes, it wouldn't be passable for commerce to be coming into Serault.
I am assuming the source of the Last is in the Blasted Hills, snow melt or one or more springs or both, and flows south-south west. The River Dawn I have it intersecting with in the Tirashan is a river I made up and it starts with a natural spring and ends meeting up with the Last and then going underground right at that point.
Since making this I have seen people put Serault on the little scrap of river leading into the lake I have named Lake Nahashin. I kind of accept that, because yes that way you don't need to imagine the original canon maps left off a whole river, but really? A passable series of rivers and lakes through a marsh area? I am not a river boat captain or anything so I may be wrong but I assume it wouldn't ever have been popular with trade through a Marsh. Maybe someone who does that is imagining the "Nahashin Marshes" label really only represents scattered marshes between the lakes, and not a major nearly unbroken stretch of marsh. Anyway I like my Last River also because it gives me a good spot to put Alyons that also lets Alyons be relevant and more important than Serault at this point. Also it lets you put Serault actually away from the lakes and marsh, which are never mentioned in The Last Court, and right next to the Tirashan woods, which are repeatedly mentioned as being "right out the back door" from Chateau Serault.
Why is it, and Serault for that matter, missing off the actual official maps?
1) because it's way out west and nobody cares. That explains Alyons I guess, too. 2) it was purged as part of the "Shame of Serault" shunning which would be a few generations back. Alyons got left off too because they took off the Last River to punish Serault and impact its trade. The merchants they still get are hold outs and people really into getting their hands on the best glass. Perhaps authorities felt nobody would follow a ban on Serault glass, so it was better to deter trade and effect the punishment using official map changes.
You can also see I added some made up villages for Serault to have as vassals, each with their own local lord or lady (styled "baron" informally, if they want, even if official petty titles are banned) ... or Ser if a chevalier or general knight.
Find more about those villages, and the draconologist's outpost, Chateau Estival, HERE.
More about the rivers and lakes, HERE.
More about Alyons and its villages HERE whenever I make that post.

I miss The Last Court. I genuinely don't know why Bioware removed it, it was simple and fun and gave a very different perspective of life in Thedas. If they ever said why they took it down I missed it. But I would play a more standard Dragon Age game that's just The Last Court. I want to see Serault fully animated please.

“Riko still believes he can win his father's attention with his fame. If the lord does not recover, Riko will take his anger and grief out on everyone around him."
Neil considered that, then said, "Good thing you're not there anymore."
"Jean still is," Kevin answered.
