This mmight be an Unpopular Opinion but dear god I hated the The Reflection (YES I know that it wanted to be called Stephanie but it doesn't deserve that)

Spoilers.

The Reflection was literally fine in the first few books but in the seventh book (I think?) when it murdered Carol, it literally got so terrible and insufferable, like, it , in Fletcher's words, 'tried to kill Valkerie' to replace her, tried to turn eveyone in Valkriye's life against her when Darquesse took over, BERATED SKULDUGGERY FOR MOURNING THE LOSS OF HIS FRIENDS, AND MANIPULATED FLETCHER INTO DATING IT.

FUCK YOU REFLECTION, I DON'T CARE YOU DIDN'T WANT TO DIE, I FUCKING CELEBRATED YOUR DEATH.

Now for some real talks. 'Nothing in this universe happens of its own.' This is what I would call is the Law of Initiation which simply states that for anything to happen at all, there will be a cause tied to it. Nothing new. Much has been spoken about it in the history, in science, in philosophy - yet there's quite stupidly an overwhelming silence throughout the centuries where no one seems to be talking much about the ultimate cause of all causes, the driving force behind every seen and unseen movement. A vehicle doesn't run on its own, there's someone that has to start and run it. So what exactly is the purpose behind these words - it is a simple effort exerted in the direction towards that primal cause, the divine force which at first caused the birth of this very existence in all its vastness. If you truly believe that everything that you see happening around you and even within you has a cause tied to it, then wouldn't it be a subject worth your time and consideration to know what is the Cause of that cause? You see the world in which we love today is actually heading on a totally different direction, far away from the truth. The only parable that I could narrate is that of a man who stands in front of the mirror, what you see there is merely a reflection. Your efforts are currently focussing in its entirety to alter the reflection by touching the one in the mirror. It is futile and pointless to rectify the one inside the mirror. If you wish to bring some change in there, you must get out to the One that is reflected on the mirror. You must interact with The Real One and not with the sheer reflection. This entire universe is vibrating as a reflection to that One Divine. Need to mould your reality? Don't waste your time upon the reflection you see in the mirror, get to the One who's being reflected. Get to the Cause, the Ultimate Cause of all causes. There's not a leaf that falls from the tree without it being connected to that primal force. Get to that core, to the very source of all energies. Everything else will fall in place when you're truly in sync with the real. The mirror will then imitate and copy all that one is doing. You can never find a mirror that keeps the hand wrapped into your pocket while outside it the hand is actually being lifted up in the air. There's only synchronization between the real and the reflected. Whatever happens at the realm of real is what happens at the realm of reflection...

When Izzy first walked out I was worried that he would be made into a joke that the crew would laugh at

but then he started singing and the dancing began and I realized that he wasn’t meant to be a joke at all. This is the most open and happy we’ve ever seen Izzy and the show treated it that way. Not mocking him but instead celebrating this moment.

When we talk about queer representation it’s usually just focused on queer relationships, but what I love about this episode is it shows other sides of being queer. That moment where Izzy saw Wee John doing his makeup and had a realization that he wanted that too? That is what being queer means to me. The crew singing along and cheering for him? That is what being apart of the queer community means to me.

What i love about this show is that it shows queer joy, not in a sanitized way, but in away that is messy, beautiful, and without any mockery or shame.

#the fact i expected him to be made fun of just reflects how queer people are usually presented in media #i was preparing myself for an awkward scene full of secondhand embarrassment for izzy #but then it didn’t happen.
