OMFG...
I just took a look of the lyrics of "Song of the Seven", and...
You're nothing, you're less
You're broken, a mess
Defeated and hopeless
You'll sink to the depths
The oppressors are mighty
Way greater in strength
Let history warn you
Resistance means death
This is Radovid's favorite song...
I repeat, this is Radovid's favorite song...
The song that spoke to him the most?!
So, what if Radovid was smart enough to continue to pretend to be a bit of an idiot, and let Dijsktra and Philippa rule in his stead (be King in name and appearances only) for the time being, to keep himself alive.
Try to lull them into a false sense of complacency...
While, you know, keeping his mouth mostly shut and observing/learning, while keeping an eye out for any opportunity to shift the balance of power.
Because to be able to "resist" and "oppose" Dijsktra and Philippa, he would need to build alliances without having them suspect anything...
Which, you know, would obviously take a certain time, and very reliable contacts he can trust...
Like a certain Sandpiper...
That has been putting himself at risk to smuggle elves to safety, and who's been risking his life to rescue the men of a dwarven company (almost getting shot in the process), and that would have a powerful and influential enough voice to turn the tide in Radovid's favor, and make Dijsktra and Philippa lose the level of influence they have over Redania's military powers and intelligence.
And Hugh Skinner did say that what attracted Radovid to Jaskier the most was the "appeal of truth"... So...
Bonded in a bloodquest for vengeance and truth
Destined to fail but the seven refused
Seven warriors apart unite as one fist
The empire would crush them but they said "fuck this!"
(They said "fuck this!")
They rallied the people with brave deed and song
Their courage has shown them the right from the wrong
The power of a story put fire in their veins
The people will rise up to bring forth a change
Radovid, with Jaskier's help, will get revenge for what was done to his brother and his wife... Dismantle Dijsktra and Philippa's spy network and render them powerless... And make Redania a safe haven for people of every species and sexual orientations (among others).
Radovid would go from loving "Song of the Seven", to basically living it!
Look, a girl can dream, alright?
