Missing Jenna Playlist

Summary: Without your girlfriend's comforting presence, you take to youtube to find any form of comfort. Luckliy for you, your girlfriend is a celebertiy with a lot of interviews to watch.

If anyone asked about your comfort playlist full of your girlfriend’s interviews, you’d deny it. Even as said playlist made an appearance in your watch history when she was away filming. 

It had been a particularly hard time spent away from each other when you gave in and made the list. Jenna was so busy that she barely had time to call or FaceTime like usual, not that your conflicting timezone was helping any either. You weren't getting any sleep, realizing just how much your girlfriend’s voice and presence had on your ability to do so. 

At first it was just one of her Wednesday interviews with Emma. Hearing both of them laugh and joke brought you back to the time you had a sleepover together while visiting Romania. It was comforting hearing her raspy voice coax you into a deep sleep. But it would always end too soon, just as you would start to drift off, they were saying goodbye and the video would end. 

So you’d search ‘Jenna Ortega Interview’, a hundred options popping up. You had your favorites and your least favorites. The ratings mostly consist of how much Jenna talked in them and the ones you knew she was excited to have done. 

One day after a week of not hearing Jenna’s voice from her phone calls you wanted your favorites to comfort you. But they were all scattered around, some from Wednesday press junket, Scream 6, her promoting her book, it was too many to just queue every time so you decided a playlist would be good. 

It’d keep everything together, no random videos to play afterwards, just all your favorite interviews in one place. You only did it as a convenience, not because you were desperate for her to be by your side, or anything. Just, supporting your girlfriend while she promoted her recent work. Plus you were tired, and fewer things to select so you could fall asleep to the sound of Jenna’s comforting voice was obviously the better option.

Maybe the playlist started to see the light of day however. Not only being played on your phone as it sat on the mattress next to you. But as the days went on you’d play it on the tv as you cooked, cleaned, or read a book. It basically became your favorite form of podcast without even being one. 

It started to become a routine, you’d come home from work, fix something to eat and watch a show you recently started, until you’d begin to miss her. Your fingers expertly pressing every button needed to enter YouTube and reach your playlist, as if it was second nature. 

It was one of those days, watching Jenna and Melissa die laughing at something Courtney said, the sound of keys unlocking your front door catching your attention. You perk up like a puppy hearing the bag of their favorite treats being opened. “Baby?” You hear the voice you’ve been wanting to hear for weeks and shoot up from your seat. 

Your socked feet against the hardwood making your trek to the door more uncoordinated than usual. “Hi, baby.” You say a little out of breath, a smile gracing both of your faces. “Hello.” She replies, cupping your face and pulling you down into a smiling kiss. You wrap your arms around her pulling her even more into you, your body buzzing with happiness. She sighs as she wraps her arms around your neck, tucking her head in the slope of your neck. 

“I didn’t know you’d be coming home so soon.” Not that you were complaining at all.

“We got a week off of filming and I wanted to see you.” Tightening her grip around your shoulder you feel her relax as you start to sway side to side. “I’ve missed you so much.”  You couldn’t be happier at hearing she felt the same. 

“I’ve missed you too.” Just as you couldn't feel any more at home, your heart sinks as you hear Jenna’s laugh, but it wasn’t coming from Jenna in your arms. No, it was Jenna prompting Scream months ago. You can’t believe you forgot to turn the tv to literally anything else. Jenna pulls away confused, you try pulling her back into you but she pulls away fully walking towards your shared living room. This is a great time to have the floor swallow you whole, you think. 

“Hey, why don’t we put your clothes up and get ready for bed. I’m sure you’re so tired and wanna sleep the rest of the day away. That sounds like a great plan, right?” Unfortunately, she continues on her way, towards the sound of her own voice. Your only comfort being the sly smile she gives you over her shoulder. She stops when she sees what’s on the tv and you sigh. You’ve been caught, and now you are gonna have to hide away for the rest of your life.  

“Did this just come on by itself?” You nod not making eye contact with her. “Yep, it just came on. I guess it got recommended after I watched the roundtable interview.” 

“Oh really?” You hum in agreement, your hands start to sweat as she looks back at you with a mischievous smile. “You didn’t just really miss me?” 

“You don’t even know.” That wasn’t suppose to come out, but it made her smile grow bigger. Her fingers reach out and grasp the hem of your shirt. Her smile and eyes softening at your admission, she pulls you in, her big brown eyes looking up at you takes your breath away for the millionth time. 

Your hand comes up and cradles her neck as your thumb rubs against her jaw bone. It’s quiet for a moment as you just take each other in. You lean down pressing your lips to hers. When you pull away her mischievous smile is back. “You missed me.” She singsongs, you lovingly roll your eyes. “Maybe a little.” 

She pulls you towards the couch, pushing on your chest until you fall into its pillows. “It’s very sweet that you watch my interviews but I can’t watch myself.” She says as she lays on top of you and reaches for the remote. You're so caught up in finally having her in your arms that you don’t realize what she's about to see. 

“You’re watching a playlist of my interviews?” She looks down at you, then back at the screen. “You made the playlist?” You groan, why didn’t you change the tv, why aren't the cushions swallowing you whole like you hope they would? Trying to hide your blush you hear Jenna giggle on top of you and her kissing your warm cheek. “Baby, you’re so cute. Do you know that?” 

“Shut up.” You mutter feeling even more flustered at her words and kiss. That makes her laugh more. You feel her hand slide up your body and find its resting place on your cheek. Pushing you to look at her, she smiles down at you. 

The overwhelming need to confess your feelings almost takes over but after a year of dating you wanted it to be her choice to say it without pressure. 

“I love you, Y/n. So much.” Relief and happiness floods through you, she said it and she meant it. She loves you. You can’t help but surge up, capturing her lips in a kiss, and confess the same sentiment you felt since you met her against her lips. 

“I love you too, J.”

They've been out in the garden playing with the football when they're caught in a surprise rain shower. They're running to get back in the house when Tara slips, tripping over the step into the house, and goes crashing to the floor, face knocking against the door as she goes down.

Sam freezes for a moment, horrified. She feels like she's watching it in slow motion. When time starts again, she's on one knee with a hand on Tara's back, and Tara's laughing.

Oh no, Sam thinks, she's brain damaged. "Are you ok?" she asks, the rain forgotten as it soaks through her clothes.

Tara makes an affirmative noise in between her giggles, pushing herself up on scuffed palms and knees. "I need a shower."

She says it so matter-of-factly that it makes Sam laugh too. "Yeah you do sweet girl, we both do." Sam hoists her back up onto her feet and inspects her grazes. "And maybe a couple of plasters, in we go."

Sam quickly has the step replaced with a rubber-coated ramp.

BTS Reaction | Teasing Baby Him [Request]

Seokjin:

You'd always been a fan of their music but you'd never taken the time to sit and watch the music videos. You were too busy with working and your personal life to watch all of the music videos but now that lockdown was happening you had all the time in the world. You'd already binged a new show and started a new hobby but you wanted to do something else, so you found the first-ever music video the boys did and started from there. You smiled as you looked at all of them, all so young and full of dreams it was adorable. One video led to another, and then another and another until you were lost in the whirlpool that was their music videos, and vlogs that they had done before they debuted. It was too cute for words.

"Baby, what you-" Jin stopped when he walked into the living room and saw No More Dream on the screen - You'd just restarted the playlist again because you couldn't get enough of how young he looked. Jin put down his bag on the floor and stared at the remote on the coffee table, you followed his gaze and you knew exactly what he was going to do.

"Babe...Why don't you go and order something to eat?" You hummed at him and slowly got off the sofa and eyed up the remote, both of you were an equal distance away and you knew that Jin had the upper hand thanks to his long limbs but you were a little faster.

"Don't-" Too late, you'd already grabbed onto the remote hit full volume and ran in the direction of the stairs but he grabbed you from behind and began spinning you around.

"JIN!" You cried out as he started tickling your sides to get the remote from your hands but you started screaming the lyrics loudly to annoy him and he groaned falling onto the sofa with you still in his arms.

"Baby you looked so good!" You giggled getting out of his grasp and straddling his lap,

"Fire is my favourite, blonde hair with dark eyebrows." You faked a moan and he hid his face in his hands knowing this wasn't going to be the last of the conversation and you were going to tease him for as long as humanly possible.

Yoongi:

The boredom of lockdown was starting to get to you, you'd done everything you could think of to stop yourself from being bored. Cleaned and reorganised the shared bedroom, repainted the kitchen, repainted the living room and spare bedroom as well as get it all redecorated in there for when you had guests over...Which wouldn't be happening any time soon thanks to Miss Rona. Now you were alone in the house again, Yoongi was working on his mixtape and the new album so you had to find something else to occupy your time, usually, you'd be at work but that was out of the question. You were about to find a video game to play when your phone started to vibrate from the kitchen, Jungkook's text tone came through multiple times and you went to see what the huge deal was when you found him sending you all of the old Log videos back from 2013 and you screamed seeing Yoongi on one of them. He looked so young, his hair was blue and wavy and he was smiling so much that you couldn't help but smile back at him. 

[19:05] Enjoy your new form of blackmail, this is revenge for what he did to me.

You smirked to yourself and sent a bunch of screenshots of the video to Yoongi, teasing him about how cute he was back then before going onto the next one and dying about how cute he was there too. 

[20:45] You better unlock the front door and prepare to be punished.

As soon as the front door was unlocked Yoongi pinned you against the wall in the hallway and you stared at him, he was slightly less intimidating to you now that you'd seen baby Yoongi. 

"Baby Yoongi is so cute though," You giggled but he growled and bit down on your neck, 

"Baby Yoongi isn't here anymore," You whimpered as he whispered in your ear and bit down on your ear lobe. 

Hoseok:

Jimin sat down beside you with a bowl of popcorn, you had been condemned to your tiny apartment since you and he were showing signs of the virus, you knew you didn't have it but you still had to be careful and self isolate together.

"I found these." Jimin said holding up a couple of USB sticks and you frowned looking at them,

"Bon Voyage episodes, but season one things that didn't make it in." You smirked knowing how much your boyfriend - Hoseok - hated you watching all of their old videos. He'd caught you watching and dancing along to No More dream and Spine breaker a bunch of times and you always teased him for it all.

"He's going to kill you." You giggled watching as Hoseok appeared on the screen with Taehyung both of them dancing around and joking about something.

You were just getting into some more clips when there was a loud bang on the window, both of you turned to see Hoseok staring at you, he looked pissed off and you were glad he couldn't come inside and scold you for it.

"YOU LOOK CUTE!" You yelled through the window pausing the screen on Hoseok's face and smirking as he groaned, he hated that he couldn't come in and be with you. He missed you but now he hated that he couldn't go in there and stop you from watching all of the old videos. You walked over to the window and opened it a little so you could talk, you'd been doing it for a couple of nights in a row, it made the time you had to be away from one another less lonely.

"One more week and then I get you back, I'll remember this." He said as he pushed the bag of warm take out food through the window.

"I love you." You giggled at him as he walked away from the window.

Namjoon:

There wasn't much to do since lockdown had started so you began watching all of the old videos you'd missed when you first started dating Namjoon. Tweeting for videos to be sent to you, you'd finished all four seasons of Bon Voyage, you'd watched all of the Run episodes and music videos but there was one thing always being sent to you which made you die from laughter whenever you watched it and it was the clip of Namjoon feeding that one model on American Life Hustle, you smirked to yourself and headed out to the shops to plan what you were going to tease Namjoon with later.

Namjoon was laid on the sofa watching something while scrolling through his phone, you grabbed the bowl of grapes and went to sit on the floor in front of him,

"What've you got baby?" You looked up at him innocently as you popped a grape into your mouth,

"Just some grapes, you want some?" He nodded and shifted so there was room next to him on the sofa, you sat down and held a grape in your hand putting it near his lips and slowly pulling it away as he had done in the video. He blushed but you gave him the grape before doing it yet again with another one, only this time you didn't let him eat it you put it into your mouth and he knew exactly what you were doing.

"Been on twitter today baby?" He smirked taking the bowl out of your hands and laying you down on the sofa,

"N-No." You stuttered, your whole demeanour changing as he smirked darkly at you,

"Oh I think you have," He whispered kissing your jaw and down to your neck, you let out a whimper and he chuckled.

Jimin:

Being in lockdown at the dorms wasn't a total nightmare like you'd first thought it would be. You'd gone to be with Jimin for a couple of weeks and then lockdown happened and you couldn't leave, you thought it would be your worst nightmare living with seven boys but there was never a boring moment. While they went to work you cleaned the entire place from top to bottom as well as make sure they had food for the night, like a little housewife. But the longer lockdown went on the fewer things needed to be done to frequently and you were left being bored. Which was why that morning, Namjoon had handed you an old laptop full of old videos for you to go through, it was all old unedited items of Bangtan bombs, music video clips and bloopers to keep you entertained. You'd spend the entire day watching everything on the laptop that you hadn't even noticed time passing until Jimin touched your shoulder.

"Good day?" He chuckled looking down at you and then to the laptop when he noticed what you were watching,

"Who gave them the laptop?!" He yelled taking it away and rushing away from you, you sprinted after him yelling out quotes from the video only making him blush more.

"Jimin!" You squealed as he picked you up and put you over his shoulder and took you to the boys,

"You showed her Jimin's got no jams? I've only just stopped getting it from Army." He grunted and you started laughing while shouting it, he tickled your sides and you screamed before falling silent, Jimin knew he was never going to hear the end of any of it.

Taehyung:

Lockdown had started to take it toll on your sleeping pattern, you found yourself unable to sleep because of the lack of activity you had to do in the day so you were spending most of your nights laid awake on the sofa downstairs while Taehyung slept upstairs. It was no big deal, he understood that you couldn't sleep but he felt bad because there was nothing he could do to help. You were slowly running out of things to watch on Youtube when you decided to go into all of the old music videos, bangtan bombs and logs from BTS's time together and you were having a blast.

Taehyung rolled over expecting to find you laying next time him since it was 6 am and you were usually tired by then but he could hear the familiar tune to 'Jump' playing and he headed down the stairs, there he found you sitting on the sofa in one of his hoodies. The hoodie pulled up and tied tightly around your chin with a pair of sunglasses on, he was about to say something to you when he noticed you recording his rap part as though you were him and he held back a chuckle watching you.

"You look good!" You jumped and your phone flung onto the opposite side of the sofa as you tried to act as though he hadn't just caught you doing that.

"Sorry baby, you all just looked super cute." You giggled getting up and hugging him,

"We were manly and handsome." He protested but you started giggling and shook your head,

"Alexa play No more dream on youtube." The video started up and Taehyung groaned.

"Alexa stop." You giggled at him and started to tease him on everything you'd seen over the last night of your youtube adventures.

Jungkook:

Jungkook could hear you giggling when he walked through the front door of your apartment, he left you at home that day instead of taking you to work like he had been doing for the last couple weeks of lockdown. He was about to call out and ask what was so funny when he walked into the living room to see you sitting on the floor watching his graduation video with Jin sitting beside you. You were both laughing at how young Jungkook looked and he stared at you,

"Baby! Look! Look how cute you were!" You wiped your eyes and he noticed you were laughing so hard you were crying, Jungkook stared at the screen and wanted to cry as well but not from laughter. It was the unedited video of his graduation, him crying about how happy he was that the boys had come and then all of them laughing and joking together as they had a meal.

"You looked so adorable in your little uniform." Jin got up from the floor and patted Jungkook on the back as he left the apartment.

"My favourite clip," You got onto a clip of Jungkook shying away from a girl and he growled at you.

"Sorry baby, but the uniform-"

"Go get into your uniform baby girl, you know I prefer you in yours." You swallowed the sudden lump in your throat and you nodded obediently, getting up from the floor and rushing into the direction of your shared bedroom.

SKAM FRANCE PROJECTION -  Q&A RECAP

I wasn’t sure I wanted to write a description of the Skam France projection in Paris because I knew it would be so long ; but we were so privileged with all those informations that I though I needed to share with you some of it. And also for myself, so that I don’t forget this day.  I’m just gonna keep a few details to respect the kindness and sincerity they had for our little audience, and I don’t feel confortable repeating to hundreds (or thousands) without their consent. Important note : I didn’t take notes, I’m not a machine so I don’t remember everything, I don’t remember what they said word by word, so, I’m sorry if some quotes or meanings are a bit inaccurate. I tried my best, please don’t hold it against me.... :) Now, lets begin this VERY LONG recap. I’M SORRY !! 

We arrived a bit before 5pm, and people were waiting in line outside. The movie theater didn’t open before 5. Somehow, while waiting peacefully, we saw the cast and crew arriving just in front of the theater, greeting each other and talking together, like a reunion. That was nice. Marilyn came to us and greeted some people waiting as well.  Then we went in the theater, were handed a flyer/postal card (see at the end) of the Skam cast, and headed to the cinema. The crew and actors were already seated. We all sat, then David (the director) came on stage with some people from the production, France TV and Niels Rahou (main screenwriter). Him and David had a cute moment sharing the mic and saying I love you to each other/declaring their flames haha. What a pair ! David thanked all of them, the cast as well, we applauded (of course). Then David said : Are you ready to see Lucas and Eliott fall in love ??  We applauded loudly again, then he sat down and we started watching the first episode. We laughed a lot reacting to the funny scene or lines, and when FINALLY we saw Eliott for the first time on screen, everyone screamed and clapped. So I took a look at Maxence reaction, he has his face in his hand, kind of hiding but was smiling like crazy, that was adorable. From there, almost every time Eliott was on screen, we could here reaction in the cinema. When the episode ended, we applauded loudly. We waited 2 minutes, and the second one started. It was nice to hear people react to the jokes, we really felt connected. When Eliott appeared at the bus stop, same thing everyone screamed a bit and the next 15 minutes were intense ! I tried to take a look at Maxence pretty often during those big moments, he was smiling like crazy and hiding himself at the same time. He deserves everything. When the screen went black, we clapped, whistled and screamed a lot more, because... HEY what an experience to live ! And because we’re so grateful for everything they did obviously.  Then, the whole cast and David came on stage, David expressed his big though for Axel who couldn’t be here because he was filming a movie. Big clap for him too! Then he opened the Q&A part. Since it lasted quite a while, I’m gonna proceed with bullet points from what I remember.  • The first question was for the whole cast but more for Maxence and it was how does it feel to see yourself on screen. He answered it was kind of weird (chelou) since it’s his first role mostly...  • When ask what was their common points with their characters. Marilyn said she was a bit “motherly” like Manon. She has the tendency to tell people to be careful about what their eat, they do etc. They all agreed it was weird to speak about themselves like that, then she took the mic when Edouard (Mika) started talking and started praising him for his acting because he is the opposite of Mika, she saw him acting a couple years back and said she was so impressed that when she understood he was in Skam as well, she was really impressed and afraid to play with him. It was so nice, we applauded a lot. (The joke was that she actually added him on facebook 6 or 7 years back and he never accepted her request before Skam hahaa) For this same question, Maxence said he his a solitary/lonely person like Eliott. Lula is a workaholic, very invested in what she does and make people laugh without intending to. Assa is very similar to Imane, even if she might not have a temper as strong as Imane (but pretty much). And Léo (Yann) said he is pretty open (minded), and chill about things, people (I think.. not sure on this one) • Maxence and David explained how he was cast. David said that when they started the casting, they wanted to feel and know from the moment the actor would enter the room that it was him. But unfortunately, this feeling never came, for months... Then, the cast director called David and said she may have seen someone that could fit (at a “representation”). But she warned him that this actor had broken his ankle in the morning, so... for the “walk in the room and we know  it’s him” it was a bit compromised because of the crutches. So David and Maxence just sat down and talked, the feeling was there though, and this is how it started. Maxence then added : when he was called for the first casting interview, he didn’t want to go because he just finished his acting studies and wanted to go in vacation basically haha But then he convinced himself it would be just an exercice, so why not. Obviously it went well. Was called back for a second try, and a third try with Axel. He was in vacation when David told him he had the role. The moment he picked up the phone, a thunderbolt fell right next to him(Maxence) and David added at the theater “it was a prediction from what was about to happen” because “thunderbolt” is “foudre” in french, and when people fall in love at first sight we call it “coup de foudre” (coup = a stoke/a blow of thunderbolt)..... ❤ • During the casting call, Axel and Maxence did a scene but they incorporated the crutches situation in the scene, and it went very well. Also There was no weirdness between the two from the beginning even if Maxence said something to Axel that could have offended him. But he wasn’t and from that point, Maxence knew it was all good with Axel. He said they were lucky (I think?) that they had a such a good chemistry.   • A question was about the boys gang. Niels took the mic and made a big point on that. Saying that their reaction is normal. Here, they are teenage boys who know Lucas as there straight friend, they can not imagine or understand why he is acting now, what he has in his mind. They’ve been raised in a environment were masculinity is toxic, like any-elsewhere and we must not hold it against them because it’s reality. We (Skam viewers and lgbtq+ community) are well educated on the subject, but this is reality.  • Anne-Sophie (Chloé), David AND Niels especially made a big point on how Chloé is essential and must not be hated. She is a girl in love that is being fooled by Lucas. The only thing she does wrong in the og is outing Lucas like that, but apart from that, there is no reason to hate her. They were pretty passionate about that point.  • A recurring theme/question was about a fifth season... with (most likely from the person asking the question) Daphné. David, the head of production and a France TV representative, they all took the mic to speak about it, and the main thought was : they would love to do it because they love Skam so much BUT  because of legal reasons, of the views on Season 3 and 4, and so much more things, there is NOTHING planned on that yet... Somehow, they emphasized on how much we -the audience- matter for this kind of future. If we talk about Skam to people, if we raise the views, express how much we love it on social media etc, it might help.... So... talk about Skam France to everyone you know, and maybe, only MAYBE, we might have a change for more seasons... • Same thing with how homosexuality is usually shown in french TV. He said something like “If you’re expecting the usual kiss and then, a fade to black... No, that’s not gonna happen. We talked with France TV (the diffuser), they told us “no, you can give us all you want, we want to show a lot more”, so... since we had the images, a lot of images, we went thoroughly on that. Don’t worry for that, really ! There might be some bloopers/BTS too...” • Maxence hadn’t seen the Skam og or anything before shooting (apart from the toilet scene) because he wanted to be just like his character : he didn’t know anyone or anything of what was happening. Also, from what he saw in the toilet scene, he said he didn’t want to be like Even, it felt too “”“pushy””” and this wasn’t him or who he wanted Eliott to be. After shooting the season, he “binge-watched” everything in two days. • Now... If you are still afraid of the chemistry and the “intimate” scene. Just know that David made sure it would be realistic... that all I’m gonna say on that.  • They only had 35 days to film the two seasons!! It is extremely short. The other remakes shoot one season at a time. David emphasized on the few hours of sleep him and some of the crew had. Also, they shot around 15 minutes per day of images. It is HUGE. The work they put into the last 2 seasons is enormous. • Before staring, David thanked his wife for taking care of the kids 6 months during the year while he is filming (we clapped a LOT) • The first kiss scene was taken in one shot (correct me if I’m wrong) • Lula never wears jeans or pants, only skirts and dresses. In real life, but also on the show. • Basile falling was an improvisation from Paul, they shot it twice (I think...) • Axel doesn't play the piano, he just learned this piece for the scene (Maxence told us) and they shot the scene multiple times. • Marilyn complimented Michel on the common points questions. • Alex’ bisexuality was a random suggestion from Coline just before shooting the scene when we know about it. Easy peasy. • David and the whole team were frustrated for season 1 and 2 that they had to follow exactly the original script and lines. Even more frustrated when they saw the other remakes... • Niels was wearing a unicorn shirt, perfect  ❤  • Philippine (Emma) and Coline (Alex) told us 2 jokes.  • Lula (Daphné) is the most likely to laugh on set • They all see all your reactions, all you comments, the bad ones as well, they knew all the bad comments from season 1 and 2, knew all the pressure for season 3 and 4, so they just hope you’ll like it because they fucking love it ! :) • The journalists only saw episode 1 to 4 and the reviews are good, even if, according to Niels, they havent seen anything yet.................... so, we kind of know what to expect. Or not. Seriously, I think we’re not prepared at all.  • Neither are we for season 4 apparently... Warnings from David. Then everyone started to leave but... not really haha. The room stayed pretty full for a good 30 minutes. Personally I stayed close to David who was answering questions in a corner. I can tell you : he is SO PASSIONATE about this season, about Eliott and Lucas, his actors, it is SO heartwarming ; but above all, it confirms to me that this season has an intense depth that - in my opinion - we are NOT ready for. Outside, everyone was talking with the actors, especially Maxence, obviously... I talked with Edouard (Mika) and with Niels (the screenwriter) mostly. I just stopped Maxence who just finished talking and taking pictures with everyone to thank him, and let me just say he is an adorable sunshine. I barely started to say something, he was hugging me and he made the pictures I took with him adorable. He was jumping all around, a real ray of sunshine and kindness. Then he ran to hug David and it was the cutest thing I’ve witness that night. He must have seen me grinning like crazy at him and David, but I don’t care. It was WAY too heartwarming. They are all absolutely ADORABLE. ADORABLE !!  THANK YOU SKAM FRANCE !!!

Adrift

AKA The Rift goes both ways, and it’s super depressing. OR Jack keeps even more secrets than we thought, and I wish I never knew this one. OR Tosh and Gwen interact more in this one episode than in the rest of the entire show and it’s GREAT it’s literally the only good thing that happens.

So I’ve put off watching the last 3 episodes of Season 2 for almost a year. Probably will put off watching Fragments and Exit Wounds until at least next week.

Literally the only reason I’m watching it tonight is because BlindWave is posting their reaction to this episode tomorrow and I feel like that’s a sign that I’ve procrastinated for long enough. I’ll finally watch Fragments and Exit Wounds before they do in the next 2 weeks too. Not sure if I feel like going through Children of Earth again though... only ever watched it that one time.

Also, BlindWave lined up their Torchwood and Doctor Who reactions so all of the episodes that Martha appears in each show ended up being posted over the course of 6 weeks; 3 Torchwood episodes, then immediately she showed up in Doctor Who for 3 episodes. I was thinking that March was gonna be amazing because of how much Martha I’d be getting, and it was. It was great. But they watched the Doctor’s Daughter today, so Martha has left until Journey’s End. And now Torchwood is gonna get sadder and sadder and sadder for 3 weeks. Basically, this proves Martha is literally the source of my happiness and once she’s not in my life then it all goes downhill. Also expect my monthly Martha spam sometime in the next few days 😊

OK. NOW WE CAN ACTUALLY START THIS EPISODE.

God pressing play is painful. Just my babies walking dramatically in the opening is causing all the feels. Look how alive they all are. I’m not even at Exit Wounds and I’m mourning. Oh no Nikki probably beat herself up over that “Cheeky bugger” comment ever since then. It was with love! Not annoyance! You called him that because you love him! OH I FORGOT HE WAS ONLY 15 HE WAS A BABY. Oh Andy. He feels so attached to this case. See, I didn’t know X-Files back then, I still don’t watch it, so Andy calling Jack Mulder went way over my head. Also Jack. Babe. Stop keeping secrets. YAY TOSH! This episode’s super Gwen heavy because they filmed at the same time as Fragments and Gwen’s barely in Fragments. But last episode did not nearly have enough Tosh in it, so I’m glad that Tosh gets more time than the rest of the team in this episode. I love how thorough Tosh is. She knows Gwen would want her to try checking everything so she does it before Gwen even asks. God Jack. You know Gwen. You know she’s not gonna give up. Just say “Ok. Sometimes the rift takes people. But I didn’t want to worry you so I never told you.” You can leave out the island since she’d probably stop asking there. She might ask where they go, but you could just lie and say “I don’t know, and there’s no way to get them back because we don’t have a TARDIS. It’s unfortunate.” Problem solved. Or at least the Gwen problem is solved. The Rift is still taking people. “I should have known. Bloody Torchwood.” Yep. Gwen knows Andy’s right. LOL and Andy knows he will guilt her into going. THIS. IS. THE. MOST. PAINFUL. EPISODE. SHE LOOKS AT CROWD FOOTAGE. WOW I’M HURTING. How could he possibly feel unloved? SHE LOVES HIM SO MUCH. AND HE KNEW IT. HE HAD TO HAVE KNOWN IT. HOW COULD SHE EVEN THINK HE DIDN’T FEEL LOVED? I HATE THAT SHE’S BLAMING HERSELF AFTER ALL THESE MONTHS. THIS EPISODE HURTS. My girl Tosh coming through. My girl Tosh figuring it out. I love Tosh. I love Tosh so much. Also can we acknowledge that Tosh and Gwen are talking more in this scene than pretty much the entire show. My only complaint about Torchwood: Tosh and Gwen don’t interact enough.  This scene makes me want to cry. Everyone arriving. So many people. TOSH AND GWEN WORKING TOGETHER. THIS EPISODE DOES NOT GET ENOUGH APPRECIATION JUST FOR THIS FACT ALONE. WE NEEDED MORE GWEN AND TOSH INTERACTION IN THIS SHOW. I say as they only have 2 more episodes together... I’m not crying you’re crying. Ok Owen should have said after “They need counseling and support. That’s not us.” something along the lines of: “But maybe we can help them find resources?” I don’t know. Maybe it is because he’s dead and he has accepted that there are things he can’t change. But I wish he had done just a little more. So Rhys has a point about real life being what she’s fighting for. Gwen has a point about not wanting kids with her life being as chaotic and dangerous as it is. But Rhys shouldn’t shut her down when she wants to talk about something at work that’s bothering her just because it’s about work and they should be focusing on each other and their life when they’re together and not Torchwood. She’s upset about work, and it’s leaking into her life with Rhys, so it should count. Oh my god I’m not even halfway done with this episode. I’d forgotten that the naked hide-and-seek scene was this episode. Ianto’s coming through too. “This is high-tech stuff” I laughed at that because this is 2008. LOL Andy saying even by 2008 it’s not high-tech standards. “Have you got any vacancies coming up? You know, with Torchwood” *Cue me crying over the next 2 episodes* All I can think of is the blooper of him saying “Captain Andy.” I die. Rhys, that’s cold. I always feel bad that Gwen left Andy behind. He cares about this case too. But it’s gone beyond him. At least right now. Ok so is the boat coming back in a few hours? Or what? Ok. I love little islands like this. And lighthouses. So if this episode wasn’t about to tear out my heart, I’d be so happy right now just from the aesthetic of this. Of course Jack is there. Who are these nurses? They’re all literal angels. Where did Jack find them? What does he tell them? What is their story? Can we have a whole show about the nurses on this island? Taking care of the victims of the Rift? It would be like every single hospital show except twice the crying. Which is saying something. Oh ok he says they’re experiments gone wrong. “Jack, if you lost someone, wouldn’t you want to know?” OOOOOOH hitting Jack really hard. “You’ll never recommend me to Torchwood, will you?” “No.” OH BUT ANDY YOU DON’T KNOW THAT SHE’S SPARING YOU. That scream. The first time I watched this episode, it felt like it went on forever and would never stop. That stupid sad theme that plays during sad moments. Wow it hurts. Nikki crying gets me every time. I don’t think I’ve ever actually cried over this episode, but this time around the tears really threatened to fall. 

Ok honestly. Even though Exit Wounds does a good job of tearing your heart out, and Children of Earth is just an endless stream of sadness for the last 2 episodes, Adrift might be the most emotionally draining episode of Torchwood. The rift is so much worse than we thought. These nurses are absolute angels. Torchwood before Jack was horrible to just lock them up. But they need to find some way to help the families and those left behind by the people who are taken. I don’t know what though. Telling the family they’re dead will make the victims feel worse because they’ll know everyone they love thinks they’re dead when they’re not (and the victims have to be asking to see them and want to know why they don’t come). Telling them they’re alive but can’t be visited just hurts everyone. And letting them visit could lead to cases like Nikki where the reality is worse than not knowing but hoping they’re out there or maybe even worse than finding out they were dead. I don’t know. God this episode is upsetting. I put it off for 11 months for a good reason. It hurts.

But also, I’m really excited to see BlindWave’s reaction. Because I love this episode I think it’s one of Torchwood’s best. And they like the smaller scale Torchwood stories the best. Wow Torchwood is so good in Season 2, especially towards the end.

WOW I didn’t play the promo for Fragments initially. So dramatic. Making us think everyone’s dying all at once.

I wonder what Gwen told Andy after all this. He had to have asked where she found Jonah and how Nikki got to visit him.

OH and shoutout to Nikki’s actress for tearing my heart straight from my chest. Good for you girl.

Update: Somehow I didn’t realize this is a Chibnall episode. Once again. So excited for Chibnall to take over Doctor Who. When Chibnall’s episodes are great, they’re GREAT. Like Countrycide, Adrift, Fragments, and Exit Wounds. We’re just gonna pretend that Day One and Cyberwoman didn’t happen...

vixx (synonymous with “concept kings”) stands for “visual, voice, value in excelsis,” which is meant to say that vixx has the best vocals/visuals and all that but after 5 years many people think that the “v” in vixx also stands for violence oops. before debut, they were in a survival show called mydol with a few other trainees. under jellyfish entertainment, vixx debuted may 24, 2012 with the song superhero. since then, vixx have been known as concept-dols because of the way they incorporate themes into their teasers, outfits, mv and go way beyond in terms of expressing these particular concepts.

one thing you have to know about vixx is that they’re relatively popular but somewhat overlooked because they create music and concepts that they are interested in, which don’t necessarily overlap with what the majority of the kpop consumer body wants to see or hear. but they don’t care. they are happy making music and are grateful for all of their fans, no matter how small or big their fanbase is.
