— wukong & macaque, gn!reader
Tumblr media
original: night comforts
this was sent back in september, im so sorry omg ;;
i've been excited to write this since it came in, though LOL they deserve to be comforted, god knows they need it.
;; fluff, comfort & slight angst ?? cuddles make it better, though <3
Tumblr media
MACAQUE
- has nightmares a lot more often than Wukong, this man has had like no closure for anything in his life <//3
- he'd be having flashbacks to the fight with Wukong that ended in his death, working under LBD, arguing with Wukong, Wukong in general...... etc etc
- as much as he somewhat does need sleep, he avoids it like the plague.
- 'too much to do, not enough time' mindset, and not wanting to face his past through his dreams.
- it's going to be a WHILE before you catch him sleeping around you, his 'can't be vulnerable around others' mindset is worse than Wukong's, and that's saying something.
- he'd have to be SUPER comfortable and extra tired to doze off with you around.
- it'd probably be after a long day, possibly where he's been in a fight, or got annoyed with someone, and he's found himself laying down in your arms while you quietly talk to/at him about your day.
- at first, you think it's sweet that he's fallen asleep with you, knowing that he was tired.
- his glamour is gone, with all six ears on display, along with his scarring.
- you're almost too busy admiring him to notice it, but quiet whimpers catch your attention to his face, a deep frown with scrunched eyebrows.
- it doesn't take you long to wake him up, to which he almost immediately flinches away from you (if he falls off the couch/bed and onto the floor, just pretend he didn't).
- he's obviously upset after the nightmare, so you coax him into calming down enough to talk about it.
- you just lay there, listening to him and occasionally nodding along to make a relevant comment/insult to Wukong while giving him a little space, holding his hand.
- his tail unconsciously brushes against your leg every minute or so, he finds it grounding.
- all that emotional garbage gets him tired again, so after cuddling up to him again, and moving onto a lighter conversation (after making him promise to talk more about it, to find better solutions to his nightmares, in the morning) you both find your way back to sleep in each others arms.
- he definitely feels like a bit of weight is off his chest, and trusts you a lot more afterwards.
- suddenly, you're his lucky charm!! he jokes that he only gets a good nights sleep if you're with him (lowkey believes it too).
- next morning though, talk it through with him to at least TRY to talk to Wukong, and figure things out between them some more >:(
- he'll be reluctant, but pinkie promise him you'll be there to back him up and he might just consider it (but he wouldn't mind going back to old times with his best friend).
WUKONG
- like i'd stated in the previous headcanons (link above for those that haven't read it ^^) he doesn't have constant nightmares, but he's been THROUGH IT; so it's safe to say that he still gets his fair share of them.
- his nightmares would probably include memories of fighting Macaque, being in the mountain or the furnace, being unable to protect Tripitaka, the Brotherhood, etc etc.
- being immortal and all, he doesn't actually need to sleep as often as most people, much less AROUND others (the great sage can't be so vulnerable around just anyone!).
- this doesn't mean he avoids constant cuddles from you, however.
- unfortunately, one of the first times he found himself accidentally falling asleep around you, had him as prey to a nightmare.
- you had found yourself drifting off to sleep on the couch while watching some corny Monkey King movie with the mentioned demon himself.
- however, you were pulled from unconsciousness by a strong grip on your shirt, and a limb thumping against your leg..?
- the monkey man that'd fallen asleep beside you was barring his teeth in his sleep, his tail moving erratically.
- waking him up, depending on his dream, he may lash out on you; but he comes to his senses before he actually does any damage.
- he's very apologetic about that, but will immediately try to brush everything off and get you back to sleep.
- nuh-uh, you aren't taking ANY of that.
- he doesn't like talking about his feelings, much less ones that come from bad memories.
- whether you pester him until he spills or not, is up to you; but he should probably talk to someone about his nightmares at some point !
- he'd be stubborn about falling back asleep, afraid that he'd just have another nightmare and disrupt your sleep again.
- honestly, just cuddle up to him and give him head scratches, it'll knock him out in minutes.
- he's a sucker for being held in moments like this, wrapping his tail around you to pull you closer despite there being no space between you two anyways, your arms wrapped around his neck and your fingers carding through his hair ...
- next morning though, he's happily laying there, waiting for you to wake up – only to immediately be forced into a therapy session the minute you open your eyes.
- okay, okay; maybe you aren't THAT confrontational about it.
- he's pretty quick to break and let it all out under your caring stare and gentle touches, though.
- just ground him through it, rubbing your fingers over his hands, and listen to his awkward rambles – he'll appreciate it :)
- afterwards though, he finds himself wanting to fall asleep around you more, feeling safe and comfortable to an extent that his nightmares aren't as often, and; if he does have one, he knows you'll be right there to ground him <3

How about a one shot (or at least headcanon if that's not possible) with Sun wukong (Macaque too if you want) with a s/o who's a sassy nerd who could pick a fight (physical or verbal) with God if you get on their nerves and fiercely protective of loved ones...even if they might not win.
S/o could've said something like this at some point "No, I don't care how powerful or immortal they are, either you talk to your friend or I talk to them. No one steals my mooncakes."
Optional but s/o could have a past of being bullied for some angst but that's your choice.
I have never related to something so much as "sassy nerd who could pick a fight with god"
SWK and Macaque x GN!Sassy!Reader Headcanons
Wukong
Probably freaking out laughing when he sees you giving attitude to whoever you feel like
every once in a while he might play into it specifically to see how far you'll go
he'll back you up in some arguments but sometimes he's the one trying to hold you back
that being said, who's gonna hold you back when he's just eaten some of the mooncakes you specifically told him not to eat??
he may be immortal a million times over but he is a dead man walking
there's just so much danger in your eyes when you open up the box to see it empty, he teleports away as fast as he can while he still has his limbs attached
he gets you like a bunch more just in case :D
Macaque
he never ever fails to match your energy
with the nonexistent self-preservation he has, he'll be right there with you if you decide to pick a fight with god(or whatever celestial being or demon you happen to want to argue with)
he likes to push your buttons sometimes since he thinks it keeps things interesting
this can lead to him disappearing into the shadows before you can beat his ass
on that fateful day you were out getting some snacks for your weekly movie night you had with him and he was at the house already
he was hungry, okay?? too hungry to read the little sticky note on top of the mooncakes that CLEARLY stated "Y/N'S MOONCAKES. DO NOT TOUCH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES"
as soon as he realized his mistake he rushed out to get you more, but you got home before he did
cue screaming from him as you chase him around

Bajie is pretty popular isn’t he idk why I’m surprised. Enough to get solo romance movies at least
Of course! Bajie is def the second most popular Xiyouji character right behind Wukong. He is considered to be a perfect romance objection being that he is funny, cute, flawed, and relatable! Whether you are someone that love comedic characters having more depth put on to them, or you are a sucker for tragic romances with hopeless romantics, or even lazy characters with a heart of gold then you are in luck that Zhu Bajie fulfills all your needs!
There is no doubt that Wukong is a fan favorite being a hero and a rebel, with amazing powers and always a clever trick up his sleeve he is legendary! But comedic relief characters are also adored, esp when you can just add a little ~angst~ which Bajie has plenty of being yeeted down to earth.
He is a flawed character being greedy, selfish, lazy, etc. but also who hasn't felt like they have been before? Sometimes people are selfish or lazy but that doesn't have to be all that they are nor are they a bad people for having bad traits. They can be compassionate, loyal, humorous, and strong as well. Bajie is a lot of things and I think that people enjoy seeing a flawed character that is usually a comedic relief really be given some depth esp since love tradigies are very popular as well.
Bajie being the height example of a man who can never have love but still be loveable!

Oooh, The Furnaced!Macaque AU be looking good. So many angst options!
(At least Buddha was nice enough to make the urn with the FFM top)
Spideys Brain: <Ey, let’s make this angstier.>
“What, Mac actually being dead?”
<Nope! Even better!SWK and Mac were reduced to ashes, yeah? What if they were really close in there, so the ash piles were actually one pile?>
“Go on…”
<SWK regenerating from the ashes…he also grabbed onto Mac’s ashes – I mean, it was probs reactionary, like, starting as soon as he dissolved into ash…right on top of Mac’s. Or Mac dissolved into ashes while on top of him, whichever floats the boat…>
“Wait, you mean, like Mac being like an ashy symbiote inside SWKs body that comes out. Would be, him breathing out smoke and, whoa, here’s Macky!”
<Cool idea, not quite. Think Steven Universe Gems.>
“So, they like fused. Can they unfuse?”
<Nope! Loss of self and identity crisis up the wazoo!>
So yeah…Lao Tzu cracking that bad boy open to see what’s up and this unholy combination of both SWK and LEM comes out screaming and hitting – confused, gotta be in a lot of pain, freaking the fuck out in general. Heaven shrieks in terror as this abomination continues the rampage that leaves nearly all of Heaven in shambles – can’t believe they are wishing for SWK to be the one to do it instead.
Dunno what else to say, but I guess there would be a lot of derealizations, disassociations and identity crises down the line. Maybe identity death? Definitely grieving over the loss of self. That Journey is gonna be FUN.
Hmm….Welded Monkey AU? It’s a synonym of fused and, get this, *married*. Guess when they work it out, they might go Garnet on all this, then? Just a Garnet that couldn’t defuse even if they wanted to…okay, bad example…
(Also, imagine the general Wukongverse reaction to this…this fused monkey that still struggles with feeling real and has no actual identity…like, they love their LEMs but that is just the purest of nightmare fuel even for them – who would’ve thought the furnace could bring forth even more fears?)
Ohohoho
"Welded Monkey!au" is delightfully devious.
Sun Wukong and the Six Eared Macaque may have technically "died" to the Furnace...
But the four-armed, firey-eyed, six-eared, and two-tailed Welded Monkey King of the Crucible was born.
And of course this is considering that the being born from the furnace is a grown fusion, and was not compressed into a fresh Diamond Stone Egg from the ashes...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both two previous minds clashing and marrying and a whole new mind forming all at once. Not even the Buddha is sure what to make of it.
The battle in heaven is legendary, and even the strongest warrior Erlang Shen is left permanently injured - the Welded Monkey being his equal match + 1. But like with the original story, the Monkey proves far too proud to turn down a bet from the Buddha (though the Macaque part of them yells that it's a trick).
Tripitaka finds his bodyguard 500 years later chained under the Mountain, and nearly faints from the sight.
A tall, bronze-furred monkey that looks at the monk with equal fascination and disgust. Molten copper and iron still dripping from their maw. Lets just say Guanyin needs to apply the crown immediately or else the combined anger of SWK and the spite of LEM means one less Journey member.
Many demons run at the sight of them.
The Welded Monkey (aka "Alloy/Héjīn) refers to themselves only in plural pronouns, as to respect their original forms.
They wield a staff and can jump into the shadows of their foes. To the unknowing, it's like seeing an Asura fight on earth.
Their personality is one of opposites; cheeky and demure, boisterous and calculating, honest and scheming, theatric and shy. So many aspects of Sun Wukong and Macaque combined.
It gets a little awkward for them to explain what's exactly going on. Enemies think it's an interesting power-up. Former friends are the most confused.
PIF: "So are you Sun Wukong or are you Macaque?" Hejin: "Yes and no." DBK: "So their child? Being a combination of both?" Hejin: "We have their memories though." DBK: "Hmm... what's it like?" Hejin, thinking for a while: "Noisy. On the inside." PIF: "I always did think Wukong and Macaque would marry. Just not in this way."
I imagine their Journey is more one of finding their own personality and identity after their creation, and them/the world as a whole accepting the loss of who they once were.
The Wukongverse def pities/is terrified of what Hejin respresents. Hejin is not a SWK/LEM child, nor are they just them combined - they are something Else.
The different Lao Tzu/Laozi's make sure to note; "Do Not put more than one monkey in the Furnace at once."

This Isn't a Goodbye (But I Wish It Had Been)
Part 1 || Part 2
Summary: When Wukong approaches Macaque clearly anxious over something, Macaque half expects to be told that he'd accidentally set fire to an orchard again.
But to Macaque's dismay and greatest fear, it's much, much worse.
Content Warning(s): Fear of death. Angst. So much angst.
Word Count: 1791
----------
Macaque had never thought himself to be good at goodbyes.
Even the mere word was regarded with discomfort, like a flea crawling about his pelt that he prays will be plucked away during his next grooming session. He'd never truly found a reason for why he disliked them in the first place, nor for why he felt just as compelled toward them at the same time.
After all, good stories all tended to have their respective "goodbye" scenes. A moment in which the protagonist would manipulate a single word into a poem if only to yank mercilessly at the heartstrings of whatever unlucky viewer was watching. It was a captivating occurrence, both to watch and act out if Macaque had anything to say about it.
He would never forget the satisfied hum within his mind whenever he gazed into his audience amidst such moments of sorrowful poetry to find tears gathered within hundreds of softened eyes.
And how could he forget the contentment that lied within the sense of closure that goodbyes could offer? That gentle sense of finality not unlike the endings to his shadow plays. Endings that would tell that the story was finally done. Finished.
Complete.
Macaque can't help but wonder if his uncertainty behind goodbyes lies more in his unfamiliarity with it. Of course he'd written hundreds of scenes; offered gentle whispers of "off you go" to infants whose mothers had grown irritated in their absence.
But those words were always nothing but gentle farewells. Promises of reunion whenever convenience prevailed again.
Macaque only prayed that today would promise the same gentle reunion. That today would be a farewell that wasn’t a permanent promise that he'd never see his best friend again.
That Flower Fruit Mountain would once again greet its king.
He would’ve thought the day would appear more somber, or at least full of tears and banter because that’s all Macaque had seemed capable of stomaching for the past months.
Maybe the island and himself had finally run out of tears; left with nothing but excitement and hope for the future.
At least, excitement on Wukong’s end.
Macaque would be lying if he said the lack of crying didn’t amplify his bouts of anxiety and fear. He should’ve shut down Wukong’s plan the moment he heard of it, taken it between his claws and crushed it like some bothersome tick.
Maybe then this whole mess would've been avoided.
"So, there's this...guy."
But of course Macaque's interest had been piqued, even if his stomach twisted at such an implication. Gossip had always been something he'd taken to like water off a duck's back- it certainly hadn’t helped that his six ears made it a little too easy to eavesdrop -and he'd supposed that he should've expected talk to arise with spring just having been on the horizon.
It was just that Wukong had always spoken about taking on a partner with denial. He'd puff out his chest and declare himself far too kingly to worry about such things as "marriage" and "courting".
"Oh?" Macaque grinned, as if his eyes hadn't instinctively searched for an exit from the conversation. "Always knew this day would come."
Wukong only shifted his feet, eyes downcast. "Y-You did?"
"Of course, Peaches. With spring comin' up and all that, you should know your neighborhood gossip would be happy to hear about all this."
Wukong's chest deflated, and his tail turned from an anxious twitch to a joyous wag. "Man is that is a relief. You have absolutely zero idea how much this has been eating at me."
"Yeah...thought at least something was up," Macaque laughed. "The island's practically void of peaches."
Wukong's burning face was enough to convince Macaque that he'd been correct in his assumptions. Trust the king himself to drown his concerns in food.
"So, you've finally found..." Macaque shimmied his shoulders. What can he say? He'd always been one for dramatics. "...the one?"
"The one-?"
And for a moment, Macaque's world froze, trapped in a stare with Wukong's opened mouth and wrinkled nose. Disgust was an uncommon expression for the king, but one Macaque thoroughly indulged himself in.
It wasn't until Wukong batted at his ears that he returned to reality, just in time to hear screeches of "Macaque, no! This is- okay, that's not it."
But Wukong still fiddled nervously, his hands interlocked.
"I want to leave."
“What?”
Macaque hadn’t been all too off about Wukong’s concerns being over a guy. He just...hadn’t expected the conversation to turn toward abandoning the island to seek the teachings from a priest.
Oh, sorry. A patriarch. A patriarch known as Master Subodhi.
One that could offer-
“Immortality!” Wukong had squealed, his excitement not unlike how many of the mothers on the island gushed over their king. “Just think of it, Mac! I’d be king forever!”
“Forever,” Macaque echoed. The idea was lovely news if he was being honest; Sun Wukong, Eternal King of Flower Fruit Mountain.
“I bet I could teach everyone here immortality too.”
Now that had been an interesting idea. Macaque had never concerned himself too much with immortality; life on Flower Fruit Mountain surrounded by the little ones and his king was...enough, even with a clock ticking toward his death.
But to be immortal? Would it be worth the possibility of never seeing Wukong again, swept away by the ocean and drowned?
It’d taken months following the conversation for Macaque to grow somewhat comfortable with the concept. He’d sung silent affirmations that Wukong would be fine. That it wasn’t Macaque’s responsibility to stop his king from achieving his dreams.
Still, his mindless murmurs don’t stop the dread of today’s goodbye. Wukong wants to leave. Macaque has to be supportive.
Macaque swallows harshly, eyes brought back to the North beach of Flower Fruit Mountain. Little ones crowd the surrounding trees, unrest amidst the air. He can’t blame their anxiety; after all, he isn’t faring too well himself.
Wukong stands not far from Macaque, kindness in his gaze as he nods for the other’s attention.
Distantly, a newly constructed wooden boat sways.
“Ask me to stay?”
Macaque blinks, caught unaware by the gentle request that’d been uttered. He can only imagine the stark contrast between his confused expression and the tears that drip down his red butterfly mask.
“What?”
Wukong’s hands slip comfortably within Macaque’s own. They still fit, and Macaque might go as far to say they fit better than from when they were kids.
“Ask me to stay and I will. I’ll drop everything. Just ask me to stay.”
“But-”
His throat bobs harshly. He doesn’t even know where to begin.
Your dreams? Your ambitions? You've wanted this for so long-
Instead he offers something much lamer.
"-the boat?"
Macaque treasures the wet laugh he receives over what he’d chosen to argue about. Of course his worries float toward the possible waste of a boat should Wukong stick around. As if they wouldn’t allow the little ones to use it whenever they pleased.
As if the boat’s construction was already justified just by the countless hours it let Macaque spend around Wukong.
"I'm being serious," Wukong grins. His eyes are just as wet as Macaque's and yet he still manages to look joyous. Like it's the easiest thing in the world. "If you think this is a bad idea, I'll stay."
Macaque forces his tongue to still, certain that given this chance his throat will spill pleads for Wukong to stay. He isn’t above sinking to the ground and screaming his fears of what may happen in the other’s absence.
Demons could attack the island.
Macaque could die of missing him so much.
For once, Flower Fruit Mountain wouldn’t have a king.
But Wukong’s eyes are so wide; wet and strong like the ocean he’ll set out on if Macaque so desires. Even now curiosity lurks beneath the heavy display of emotion, a yearning that Macaque can’t help but adore.
Wukong’s tail twitches, as if it was impossible to keep still. As if it was far too plagued with anxiety.
The realization comes gently, as gentle as Wukong’s grasp on Macaque's hand.
Oh.
Wukong’s scared.
Scared in his own shy, timid way that he always masks as uncertainty and an opportune moment for jokes. Scared in a way that Macaque knows the only cure is approval. For someone to reaffirm that Wukong’s making the right choice.
Macaque’s chest squeezes.
“Go.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really!” Macaque forces himself to laugh. “Before I change my mind from missing you too much.”
Macaque’s ears flatten at the heart-wrenching sound of Wukong choking back a sob. He needs Wukong to move before he goes through with said threat-
A yelp lunges into his throat as strong arms sweep Macaque into a warm embrace, a wet nose pressed into his neck.
“I wish you’d come with me,” Wukong admits. Like he hadn’t been preaching such a sentiment ever since Wukong announced his decision to leave.
Macaque’s response had always been the same: “Someone’s gotta stick around, Your Majesty. If not you, then your right-hand man.”
“And lose the chance to pretend to be king while you’re away?” he asks, hoping his voice conveys itself to be playful. “No way.”
Wukong only laughs, finally freeing Macaque from his embrace.
“Oh, wait!”
Macaque dodges Wukong’s wild grab for him this time, using an arm to keep the king arm’s-length away. Any closer and Macaque won’t let go.
“Your Majesty,” Wukong grins, stooping into a bow before his right-hand man. Something lands atop Macaque’s head, a crunch echoing throughout the air.
Macaque blinks. Wukong’s head looks...different.
He’s missing his crown.
Macaque nearly wails at the realization, shoving Wukong away before the king can glimpse the newfound tears falling down his face. His head feels heavy with the intertwined leaves sat atop it. It should be unfair that an establishment of utter trust and faith could be silent.
Little ones scream and howl when they realize Macaque cannot, pulling at their king’s robes whilst Wukong makes his way toward the boat.
The boat’s sturdy. It’s a fact Macaque has come to know well. He wouldn’t send Wukong out on a death mission.
The ropes keeping the boat at bay release, the waves already beginning to wash away Macaque’s best friend.
“You better come back!” Macaque yells. “I can’t keep this ol’ thing forever!”
Wukong’s cheerful agreement is all Flower Fruit Mountain’s temporary king needs to hear, the newfound weight on his head lifting if barely.
“I’ll wait for you,” he whispers, a promise he prays the Universe will honor. Because this isn't a goodbye. Not as long as he waits for Wukong to return.
Even if it’s the last thing I do.

This one is a bit angsty ! Could you write headcanons about the monkey kings that had a big argument with their SO, and how they are making up but their SO isn’t ready to forgive them yet?
I love me some angst- as long as it's not cheating angst that stuff makes me cry
Gender not specified
Romantic
A BIG argument
Nezha reborn sun wukong
It wasn’t really arguing at first. It was just a talk that he refused to take seriously and it just set you off, and it didn’t help that he kept cracking jokes while you were going off on him. Now on any other day you love how he makes jokes but you needed him to be serious and he wasn’t!.finally you snapped at him and he suddenly snapped back and it was just a downward spiral from there. Wukong was already a little tipsy so he was saying some pretty hurtful things. By the time everything was said and done you had left for the night and he had collapsed on the couch.
Now after you come home he's all over you, and he's trying to make sure you're okay as he apologizes. He's not even giving you a second of space- and it's not intentional! He's just scared you're gonna leave him after what he said. So when you gently push him away and ask for space and head up stairs to your shared bedroom he's absolutely horrified, he really thinks you're gonna leave him. He gives you a few hours of space before he knocks on the door and asks to talk.
“Lo-look! I know I need to take things more seriously and I will! I promise! Just please don't leave me…”
Once you explain that your not leaving him and just that your not ready to forgive him and need some space he breathes a sigh of relief.but he's still a complete wreck he knows he's messed up and he tries everything to fix it and i mean EVERYTHING from buying you stuff to trying to be more serious. 0nce he's back into your good graces he is determined to not let it happen again.ever again.
Reborn sun wukong
Arguments with him? Oh they happen all the time but they were never this bad. He just got done getting scolded by his Zhǎngwò and he was anything but happy. You tried to calm him down and comfort him like you always did. But he snapped at you, this was nothing new though he always snapped at you in moments like this. But this time he took it too far and he said some very hurtful things, so hurtful that Sandy and Pigsy actually tried to step in but it only made things worse. Once everything is said and done you ended up leaving the camp and heading over to the next town which was only2 miles away from where you all camped and ended up sleeping in an INN.
You didn’t come back the next morning as you knew that they would all pass through the town and you figured you would just join them there. So when Wukong see’s that you haven’t come back at all he’s in a painick, he thinks he may have finally scared you off for good. And that very thought scares him to death. So when they finally make it to the next town and he finds you there he's so relieved and he tries to grab your hand and pull you close to him but you pull away and say you need space. And he's terrified like absolutely scared.
“......you deserve better than this heartless demon…and you and i both know it”
He gives you a few days by yourself and finally talking to you, he thinks you're going to leave him. But when you make it clear you're not he’s shocked and can’t understand why because he's a demon and has no heart ((or at least that's what they say in this movie))but when you make it clear you're not ready to forgive him he understands. And he tries everything to make you happy with him from giving you gifts to being more physically affectionate with you.
DOTA2 sun wukong
We all know this man loves a good drink, well scratch that he likes a FEW good drinks. And when he's drunk he can get pretty friendly with other people and when i say friendly i mean FRIENDLY. Now let's make something clear: he would NEVER cheat. NEVER. But it's still hurtful to see him flirting with others.tho you’ve talked to him about this he never seems to listen. That is until he came home drunk off his butt and found you waiting for him and what followed was the worst argument that ever followed between the two of you. It's loud and harsh and the two of you are just tearing each other apart with your words. And it only ends because he passes out and falls to the floor.
You ended up having to drag him to bed and you made the decision to leave to a friends house for a few days- or what you thought would be a few days.in reality the moment wukong woke up he remembered everything and went to apologize but when he didn’t find you he freaked out. Now usually he would just leave you alone until he knew you had calmed down and then apologize. But he knows that if he leaves things like this it’s just gonna be worse. So he finds you rather easily and tries to talk to you but it's obvious you don't wanna hear him.
“Please.. I know you don’t want to listen to me but please just give me a moment….”
And he goes into the whole speech about how he loves you but he understands if you wanna leave him, and you cut him off and tell him you're not leaving him but you don’t forgive him- or at least not now. He starts crying knowing that you're not gonna leave him, and he does everything he knows to get you to forgive him. Gifts, hugs, food, kisses, poems everything, once you do forgive him he promises to lay off the drinking.
SMITE sun wukong
You two don’t argue in any of the sense of the word, like NEVER argue to the point where when you do have disagreements it literally just the two of you talking. But when he said he was heading off to fight a bunch of gods from different parts of the world?! Gods that could kill him?! And he was expecting to just support him and say goodbye like there's not a chance he will die?! You flat out told him no. And that one word started a wildfire of arguments that not even the great golden river could put out. He took it as you not believing in him and doubting him instead of you being worried for his safety. And he took offense to that A LOT of offense, the argument quickly got out of hand with the two of you now calling each other names. By the end of it wukong had left to fight the gods despite everything that had happened between the two of you.
He knows he took your concern the wrong way and he knows he needs to apologize but he also knows you need space especially after everything the two of you said. So It was three whole days until you saw him again and when you did he had new scars only reinforcing the thought that it was too dangerous. Wukong held his head in shame when he saw you again and the very first thing he did was bow his head and apologize without even giving you a moment to speak.
“I should have never talked to you in such a way….you’ve done nothing but believe in me and for me to assume anything else …it's moronic”
He asks if you still wish to be with him after everything he's said to you, he's prepared for you to tell him that you don’t wanna be with him as he believes it's the most logical step for you. But when you said you don’t forgive him but you're not leaving him, he’s in pure shock but he's happy and he swears he’ll make it up to you. He tries everything in the books to get back on your good side and once he does the two of you talk about him going to fight. You don’t stop him from going to fight the gods and he’s thankful that he sends you poems and letters almost every day so you know he's okay.
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS sun wukong
I had a hard time with this one because i don’t think you and him would ever argue- i mean what is there to argue about? Well there is one thing ahira, now ahira is a good friend of wukong and nothing more than a friends (( yes i know their shipped i like the ship but the i don’t)) and like dota2 wukong he would never cheat ((well none of the wukong’s would cheat)) and he only sees ahira as a friend. And you have no problems with her. In fact , your good friends just sometimes seem to hold her in a higher regard than you. And honestly that hurts you a lot you told ahira about this and she told you to tell him. So you sat him down to talk about it but what followed was horrible. He accused you of being jealous of her and when you tried to explain he just stormed off and didn’t come back.
He didn’t come back for two days because one day he was angry but on the second day he felt that maybe he had overreacted. He went to talk to Ahira and she snapped at him slightly for yelling at you when you were trying to explain your feelings to him. He quickly realized with the help of ahira that he had no right to do that to you and quickly rushed back to explain to you. But every time he tried you would just avoid or find some excuse to get away from him. He quickly came to the conclusion that you wanted to leave him- or at least you were thinking about it.
“Please let me apologize for what I’ve done!...please don’t leave me…”
He finally gets you alone when he grabs you and sits you down for a talk. He's apologizing every ten seconds I swear and he’s trembling slightly. He is genuinely scared that you're gonna leave him so when you say you're not ready to forgive him his heart stops. Then it starts one you say that you're not leaving him and he thanks you for staying with him. And the two of you have a long chat about your feelings and his. He apologizes a lot after that and works hard to get on your good side again, he gives you all of his attention- well most of it he is still a king and he’s very grateful once you forgive him.
LEGO sun wukong
Oooooh! You wanna know what you were arguing about? The way he treats MK, what had started out as you giving him tips on how to teach MK and all he did was dismiss you. It pissed you off! So you started to raise your voice and he still wasn’t taking it seriously. You told him that he has to take this seriously and once again he shrugged you off and you snapped at him. And it all spiraled down from there, the two of you had gotten into a screaming match on whether or not he was a good teacher for MK and whether or not MK could handle this. OH! Also how he seems to put all of his enemies onto the poor kid too-just him being a really bad teacher and you calling him out for i and him yelling at you. But of course he refuses to acknowledge it at all and keeps insisting he's a great teacher.
You end up leaving to pigsy’s shop and wukong leaves as well-because he's a drama queen -- and heads off to talk to mk and mei. Why? Well one he’s bored without you and too he feels like he may have been in the wrong. But he only really understands when mei practically screams at him for being an ass that he realizes that he's been very rude especially since you just wanted to help. He obviously rushed off to apologize but when he gets there and tries talking you don’t even look at him. He asks you if your upset with him and you stay silent then he jokingly asks if your leaving him….and your still quiet…oh he's’ having a heart attack
“You-you’re not leaving me are you peaches?.....please peaches…”
He’s gonna bug you all damn day until you finally tell him that you're not gonna leave him. He instantly relaxed and then he hears you say that you're not ready to forgive him though. And he’s right back to panicking, he is trying everything he knows to get you to forgive him. Hell, he even asked Pigsy for help! He even takes your advice which he realizes has helped a lot.
LEGO macaque
Oh no. this is gonna hurt. Arguments with him don’t happen often-shockingly- honestly he avoids arguments because he’s worried that you may hate him. But when you find out that he manipulated MK and physically hurt him? Oh your pissed. The moment he gets home he can see it in your face he knows he’s done something, and when you say what you know he instantly gets defensive. Now his revenge on wukong has always been a very tension filled subject for the both of you so the two of you . So when you start saying he went too far bringing MK into this when he has nothing to do with it, of course he fires back that he did what he had too you tell him he didn’t have too. He explodes and it catches you completely off guard, all of his anger and rage that he holds deep inside of him was now being pushed out onto you.and honestly it scared you- it scared you so much that you left! The moment he stopped to catch his breath you ran past him and left.
You left and after you left it literally took him only a few hours to realize what the hell he had just done. He's in shock at the fact that he could be so cruel to you, the only person that was in his side…the only one that loved him and put up with his shit. He instantly goes out looking for you immediately in his shadow for, he knows you're gonna leave him he just knows it. He doesn’t stop looking until he finds you, and when he does your in a gas station buying yourself enough snacks to last a month.he changes into his human form and walks over to you.
“Hey starlight…please let’s talk…please don’t leave me…”
You interpret him to tell him that you're not leaving him, and he stares at you in complete shock. You have every reason- every right to walk away from him et you stay…he’s thankful and completely understand why you say you don’t forgive him tho. And let me tell you he’s doing everything to get your forgiveness. You want something? Say no more he’ll get it! Cravings?? Hes got you! Anything to know that he still has your love.
Sorry this took so long!!

So my brain basically functions only because of angst so I made some kind of AU??? about what could happen with Nuwa if she appears and stuff
I've always liked body horror and all that dark stuff so there's gonna be some of it here! It's not very explicit though. Just some small things that might point to it happening
So. It starts with Nuwa finding MK!! Or MK finding Nuwa first idk. Nuwa starts to like MK (PLATONIC) and MK really loves hanging out with Nuwa! So everything is great. They're some kind of friends or at least allies
However, Nuwa is still, well, a god, and MK is a mortal (as far as she knows at least). She may like him, but she can't care for him the way a mother would care for a child. She doesn't even know she's technically his mother yet!
So shit happens, blablabla, and Nuwa finds out MK is the little stone monkey she carved all those years ago. She gets very excited to see that her attempt at creating such a powerful lifeform like SWK actually worked and immediately goes to tell MK, who has some very mixed feelings about this
Eventually MK starts to sort out his feelings on all this and wants to have some mom and son bonding time! Just to see what'd it be like. Nuwa of course accepts, saying that she'd love to run some tests on him to see how alive he is and how stone he is. Nothing bad yet! Things are great!
So Sun Wukong finds out while MK is gone w Nuwa. He freaks out because "ohh shit why why why not AGAIN--" and speeds off to her lab or whatever she has to find her and MK. Turns out they're not there, but what is there are some very disgusting attempts at creating some kind of Monkey King clones?
So of course, Sun Wukong is disgusted. And also mildly traumatizing because there is a lot of beings who look so much like him and are literally mutilated. They have blobs all over their bodies and what they are is clear: failed attempts at creating a being as powerful as he is
He goes to explore a bit (ignoring how disgusting the whole scene is, because nope he is not dealing with the emotions this brings right now, MK needs help and he's gonna get it!) and finds some other failed attempts at life! Except that this time, they're not him. They're MK
Now, they don't all look that much like MK. Some of them are just broken stones and unhatched eggs. But the similarities are very obvious and easy to see and SWK does not like that
So basically, to summarize, Nuwa was going crazy while trying to find a way to create a weapon as strong as the Sage himself. There were many failed attempts (she first started by trying to make actual clones, then continued by making stone eggs which melted very painfully when they were born) but eventually, she finds a way
Nuwa realices that cloning the Monkey King won't work, but that maybe, just maybe, if she made something similar to him, it'd come to life safely. So instead of trying to create a second Monkey King, she decided to make some kind of weird sibling for him
MK wasn't the perfect being she wanted (that was obvious because while the egg she made was stable, it wasn't radiating the power Monkey King has), but he was the closest she got to creating actual life, so even if she decided to let him live, he was thrown out and ended up in FFM. Nuwa doesn't check on him because he's not the one she wanted. Or maybe she accidentally threw him out by idk, kicking him or smth and straight up didn't know he exists
So now MK has to deal with knowing that he's just a failed experiment and that he has thousands of siblings who didn't make it and died in painful and horrible ways. Hooray!

Things I’m excited to see in s5
- Azure Lion finding out who was pulling the strings the whole time (his eyes glowed ink green when he achieved his goal and I think that that’s something)
- The reveal of who stole the scroll and presumably gave it to Jin & Yin or AL (I firmly believe it wasn’t Azure because the person in the cloak had human proportions)
- Azure getting stuck with leaderly responsibilities (this could very well be played for comedy)
- Everyone learns why exactly the Jade Emperor being absorbed(?) is such a bad thing for the universe
- Peng insulting more people down to their core (I am firmly on the side of the fandom that likes that bird and I think he’s got an interesting role in the group dynamic)
- Yellow Tusk being wise in a significant way (like maybe a line where he’s like “Hey Azure, something’s up with you, maybe calm down a little?”
- Nezha being taught that he has value beyond what post he can take up and maybe having a cute moment where he at least smiles
- More content regarding Princess Iron Fan’s days as a celestial (this one I’m fine with because that shot with her and DBK’s first meeting is everything to me)
- More DBK angst (dude clearly has an issue with being called “weak” and I want to see another adorable shot with him and his wife saving each other from the ink)
- Red Son confronting his own issues + maybe even his parental abuse (maybe we could get flashbacks if we’re lucky)
- MK OR MEI RESCUING RED SON (if the show ends up leaving the fam in the scroll because they’re villains and it gets them out of the way I will be PISSED)
- MK, Macaque and the audience finally seeing what mind games Wukong was being put through (because we didn’t actually get to see that in s4 and since he never got out I bet we’re being set up to finally see him and Mac’s fallout in s5)
- More monkey form MK (hopefully him eventually coming to “embrace it” without “accepting his destiny”)
- MK finding out what exactly Subodhi meant by the stone being remade to make another celestial / demon monkey, but MK not actually being born from the stone (maybe getting to meet that goddess in the artwork who potentially shaped him (Quanyin?))
- Finding out what happened to the Samadhi Fire (we haven’t seen Mei use it since LBD and the only time it was mentioned since was Subodhi talking about it in past tense, and honestly if the writers nerfed her simply because they had trouble write conflict while Mei had that universe-destroying power I’m kinda chill with that)
- Sandy’s being “too nice for [his] own good” becoming a character flaw that he has to get past in order to save his friends (someone on tumblr came up with the theory that Sandy’s hiding something and being super nice on purpose and I haven’t been able to stop thinking of it)
- Seeing WTF happened to the Mayor after LBD’s defeat (did he shrivel up and die because his source of immortal power was destroyed? did he actually get arrested by the Megapolis law enforcement that we’ve never seen because everyone saw their mayor hanging behind the demon freezing and destroying the city + he’s more closely connected to human society than any of the other villains so he deserves a human punishment? Or did he actually get away and is currently plotting revenge while having an identity crisis? (please writers even if he anticlimactically died off-screen I WANT TO KNOW))
#wow ok this was a lot of stuff#but I wanted to cover all of my thoughts#I might actually think of more later so I might ykow add part 2.5#lego monkie kid#lego monkie kid season 5#lmk#lmk s5#lmk season 5#longpost#I'm so invested in this 2 part season#they really left episodic format behind since season 3#Lily Orchard is gonna hate this#but Ink MK is right#now that they've experienced all that they have it's impossible to go back#the show is clearly disregarding that old rule of episodic superhero shows not developing their protagonists or acknowledging their trauma#LMK is becoming darker and I have mixed feelings about it#also I did not expect MK to actually be surprised that his name could also be an acronym for his title#I guess he really wasn't lying when he said his name was so long he went by MK#his mind was BLOWN#love that identity realization for him#at first I was sceptical of monkey mk being canonized#because I thought it was fine that mk was just a normal teenager who inexplicably had easy access to the monkey king's powers#it is a kid's show after all#but Tang pointing it out actually proved the show had more thought put into it than I'd realized#of course that's not to say that the show isn't clever or doesn't have meaning#I just thought lmk was going to be more like a thoughtless kid's show with a bit of heart#but honestly#considering my child self#I would've been so grateful for this plot twist#because I was a kid who analyzed the heck out of any show I watched

@peachshadows / @terrible-leviathan MK bumps into a familiar face and spirals.
Or: Little Dawn's Angst Tag finally has its time to shine.
“Prince MK! May I take some of your time? I would like to introduce you to a friend of mine!”
MK mentally sighed when he heard his name being called out. It wasn’t the first time an official approached him like this. The Celestial Bureaucracy learned quickly that MK was far more attentive and considerate compared to Wukong, so they usually came to him whenever he was alone. It was tedious, but MK at least heard them out for the first five minutes before making up some excuse to wiggle his way out of it. Peng’s lessons really did help when it came to these situations.
With a polite smile, MK turned to acknowledge the official whose name he didn’t remember only to freeze when he caught sight of the person standing beside the official.
No.
This wasn’t real, MK told himself, it couldn’t be.
She’s dead. MK and his friends defeated her years ago. She was just a bad nightmare that haunted MK’s dreams during his lowest moments. She wasn’t real. She wasn’t real.
But here the Lady Bone Demon stood. She wasn’t in the form of a little girl anymore, but MK recognized the feel of her chilling magic and the curve of her smile. She stood in the Celestial Court as if she belonged there. No one batted an eye at her presence, leaving MK all alone in his terror at the being in front of him.
“Your Highness, I present to you my friend and advisor, the Ivory Lady. She has been a dutiful mentor and advisor to many rulers and I hope that she can provide the same guidance to you.”
The sound of the official’s words were muffled, as if MK’s head was completely submerged in water. He stared in mute horror as LBD began to speak to him.
“Your Highness,” the Lady Bone Demon demurred with a bow. “I hope that I can be of help when it comes to the welfare of the three realms.” Then, she paused. “…Your highness? Are you well?”
MK felt sick. He wanted it all to be a horrible nightmare. He wanted to run. He wanted to fight. He wanted to call for help. But he couldn’t do any of that, not here where the rules of the world were so, so different.
Instead, MK mumbled out an excuse about not feeling good before turning and fleeing like a coward. He fled…but not to Wukong or Macaque. They wouldn’t understand. Even if MK tried to explain it - and he had tried, many times - neither would accept that he came from another world. So how would they understand MK’s terror towards the Lady Bone Demon? Would they even take him seriously?
He couldn’t risk that. So, instead, he fled to the Mortal Realm to a certain noodle restaurant.
MK made sure to transform into his human form before he entered the shop from the back. The kitchen was busy and bustling, but none of the staff didn’t even blink at his entrance. To them, he was the newly-hired delivery boy, Qi Xiaotian. He was mostly invisible here, which suited him just fine.
He weaved through the kitchen until he found the person he was looking for: Tang.
At the sight of him, Tang brightened and came over. “M - I mean, Xiaotian! Welcome back! Do you have any new scrolls you want me to look over? I think we’re getting close to finding a way to send you back!” When he got a closer look at MK’s face, his smile turned into a look of concern. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
MK struggled to speak. Why was it so hard to speak?
Tang didn’t share MK’s frustration in his inability to speak. Instead, he took him by the arm and led him over to the food storage room. He was patient and he didn’t push MK to talk. Instead, the scholar rambled about the discoveries he made with the scrolls MK brought over the last time he came around.
It was a great risk Tang was taking - reading texts that were only for demon and celestial eyes and trying to help MK and A-Dan back to their worlds. But after the scholar heard the truth of MK’s situation, he was determined to do what he could to get them back where they belonged.
“They all must be so scared for you two. It’s only right to bring you both back to your family safely,” Tang had said with compassion brimming in his eyes as he patted MK’s head.
MK remembered the relief he felt. That quickly turned into guilt when this world’s Pigsy loudly protested, bringing up the many ways Tang’s life could be put in danger. Of course, the soft-hearted pig demon was easily convinced to join in helping MK with the cajoling of his human. Still, even as Pigsy became one of MK’s greatest supporters, the guilt remained.
Even now, as MK trembled in the food storage room, he was guilty for coming here with all of his troubles and burdens that they didn’t deserve.
“MK, do you want to go see Sandy?” Tang asked gently. “If you feel more comfortable talking to him, Pigsy can set aside some time and take you to his boat. I know you and A-Dan adore playing with the cats.”
At the mention of Sandy, MK miserably shook his head. It was bad enough that he dragged Pigsy and Tang into this mess. It would be worse if he selfishly dragged this world’s Sandy into all of this just because he needed an impromptu therapy session.
“…MK, are you cold? You haven’t stopped shivering.”
He was shivering? He didn’t even notice.
“I’m going to get Pigsy,” MK heard Tang decide when he continued to shiver in silence. “He’ll know what to do. Just sit tight there, okay? Everything will be alright.”
But how many things would have to go wrong before everything becomes “alright?” How many people would have to get hurt because MK couldn’t do his job right?
So wrapped up in his guilt and self-deprecation, MK didn’t notice that his shadow started to warp and writhe under his feet. It wasn’t until his shadow knocked over a basket full of vegetables that MK became aware of what was going on under his feet. He jumped up with a frightened yelp. The shadows responded to his fear and became more agitated.
“Wait - shadows? Are these shadows…mine? Ah man, this really isn’t the time to get a new monkey magic skill.” He poked at the mass of shadows at his feet. “Um, stop? Turn off! Shadow powers deactivate!”
It didn’t help. The shadows only got worse.
“Kid?” He heard this world’s Pigsy ask as he came into the storage room, “Tang told me that you’re having a problem - what the heck is that?!”
MK batted the shadows down with his hands and tail. “I’m sorry, Pigsy! I don’t know what’s happening!” He grimaced. “It was a mistake coming here. I only made things worse. Again. Tell Tang I’m sorry for bothering him. I’m going to handle this on my own.”
The shadows seemed to latch onto MK’s desire to leave. Their movements abruptly stopped, making MK stumble mid-batting and fall onto his face.
Well. He would’ve fallen onto his face if the floor didn’t give way the moment he made contact with the floor. He fell through his shadows and continued to fall.
“Kid, wait-!”
Pigsy’s concerned cry was abruptly cut off after MK fell completely through the shadow portal. With a scream, he fell face-first onto the ground.
“Great,” he groaned as he rubbed his stinging face. “Just great.”
After righting himself, MK dusted himself off and looked around. The familiar scent of his surroundings made him blink in surprise. Flower Fruit Mountain? Why did his shadows decide to bring him here of all places? He looked around and realized he was at the top of one of the mountains. It wasn’t a place he’s ever been to before - in this world and his own.
Mountain rocks and a few fruit trees surrounded the area he was in like a protective embrace.  At the center of it all, near where he fell, was an outcrop of rocks cradling a single rock.
“What is this place?” MK wondered aloud, wandering closer to the rock. He felt drawn to it for some reason. He reached out and picked it up. It felt warm in his hand, probably because of the sun shining overhead. “…Why does it all feel so familiar?”
No, the better question was…why was he here? MK wanted to go to a safe place that was familiar but also away from Pigsy’s, so why did they lead him here? Was it a mistake?
So immersed in his thoughts, MK didn’t notice his hold on the stone slipping from his hand until it fell onto the ground with a crack. For some reason, MK was suddenly overcome with a feeling of dread and alarm at the sound. He immediately knelt down and picked up the rock, overshadowing it for a brief moment before bringing it back up into the light. With a wince, he saw that it had split into three pieces.
MK gingerly placed the stone back to its original place. The shadows at his feet finally calmed down, settling back into a normal shadow.
MK tried not to linger on the feeling that he just did something that would bite him in the tail later - like his hair, like the skeleton key. He failed.
“Stupid,” he hissed at himself. “Stupid. Stupid. Stupid shadow powers. Stupid hands. Stupid head. I can’t do anything right!”
MK hated how the Lady Bone Demon still had this effect on him years after her death. The mere memory of her messed with MK’s head. It stung to admit it, but he and his friends had won by chance and luck. If all the pieces hadn’t fell the way they did, LBD would have won, and wasn’t that a scary thought?
LBD was here, and unlike the last time, MK was alone. None of his friends and family were here. All MK had was A-Dan -
Oh. Oh no.
“A-Dan,” MK realized with horror, “she’s still up there.” Where she is.
MK traveled back up to the Celestial Realm in record time. He rushed through the palace halls, using his gold vision to look for A-Dan, desperately calling for her. To his mounting terror, he couldn’t find her - or the Lady Bone Demon.
MK nearly snarled when someone grabbed his arm. No, not nearly, he did.
“MK? Whoa, buddy! It’s just me!”
MK’s growling cut off abruptly when he heard Macaque’s voice. His frustrated anger shifted into distress, which the other monkey quickly picked up on.
“MK? What’s wrong? Don’t tell me that all that talk about you getting sick was true.” MK felt Macaque’s hand press against his forehead. “Hm, no fever. Do you feel dizzy? Did you eat anything strange?”
“A-Dan. Where is A-Dan?” MK asked, fear clogging up his throat. She wasn’t with Macaque.
“I just left her with your Baba. You know how she loves to sit on his lap during his meetings.” Macaque frowned. “MK, what is this about?”
“Is…is the Lady Bone Demon - I mean, the Ivory Lady still here?” MK asked shakily. His shadow started to act agitated again. It’s something that Macaque’s sharp eyes didn’t miss. “You need to keep her away from A-Dan. You need to keep her away from all of us. She’s dangerous. It’s hard to tell you why, but please, please believe me!”
Macaque looked MK in the eye. “I believe you, MK. It’s going to be alright.”
MK didn’t quite relax, but a part of him felt relieved at the unquestioning faith and protective rage simmering in Macaque’s eyes. He nodded slowly.
“Okay.” He breathed shakily. “Okay.”
Satisfied, Macaque pulled MK into a hug. Within a blink, they were both suddenly transported to…Lao Tzu’s workshop?!
“I’ll go fetch your Baba and your little sister.” MK felt Macaque place a kiss on his temple and brush back his hair comfortingly. “Sit tight and focus on calming down so your shadows can settle. I’ll teach you how to control them properly later.”
Easier said than done. The moment Macaque left, MK’s anxiety returned full-throttle. No matter how hard he tried to steady his breathing, his shadows whipped around him. No matter how many times MK hissed for them to stop, they banged against the tables and shattered papers.
“Seems like you have a problem there, bud. Wanna talk about it?”
MK froze at the sound of his own voice. Even his shadows stilled. Slowly, he turned and looked to his right. At first, he didn’t see anyone, then he caught sight of the Trigram Furnace. His reflection stared back at him with amusement.
“You? I mean - me?!”
“Hey. Long time no see. It’s been quite a bit since your last break-in, hasn’t it?” His reflection asked almost affectionately. “You’ve come a long way from the Monkie Kid who caused havoc left and right. You were pretty reckless back then!” Abruptly, his reflection shifted a little in its appearance. MK jumped when he saw a pair of red eyes stare back at him. “You were just like Monkey King before he went on his journey. Hey, did you know? He had a pretty nasty temper and he couldn’t control his strength, like, at all.”
“Yeah, I know,” MK said dryly, thinking back at this world’s Wukong. “Are the red eyes really necessary?”
His reflection grinned unrepentantly. “Sure it is! The Monkey King got these eyes after cooking for days in this furnace after getting captured by Heaven. And even after that, he challenged Buddha! He’s a walking cautionary tale, that one.”
“But Monkey King isn’t like that anymore,” MK argued, feeling defensive over his mentor. “He grew a lot - he’s still growing a lot.”
“Really? Then why are you so afraid of him?”
“…What?”
“No, that’s not right. You’re not quite afraid of him per se, but you are afraid of something about this image. Is it because it’s so similar to the Wukong you’re with right now? Are you afraid of him? No. That’s not right either. Then…are you afraid of becoming like him?”
Much to his reflection’s glee, MK twitched.
“That’s right! You’re afraid of your actions hurting everyone, aren’t you? You’re afraid of messing things up again…just like the Lady Bone Demon.”
“…you’re right.” MK slumped. “It’s always my fault. All I’m good at is starting messes and doing a bad job fixing them. I’m just worthless, no-good MK.”
“It’s good to consider how your actions influence everything around you, but isn’t that a bit too much?” MK blinked and startled when the reflection changed and shifted in front of him. The red eyes were gone, replaced by a familiar golden circlet on the reflection’s brow.
“You’re punishing yourself a bit too hard, bud. Give yourself some grace. You’re all alone without your mentors and friends. On top of that, you’re taking care of A-Dan all by yourself and you’re doing great. That has to count for something, right?”
MK hugged himself and looked away. “But it’d be better if I found a way back home. It’d be better if none of this happened in the first place. Everything was fine and normal. Why couldn’t it stay like that forever?”
“Normal? Ha! You can’t really believe that, MK. We’ve never really been normal even before getting that staff.”
“Whaaaa? Psh, you’re hilarious, other me! I was just a normal delivery boy! Still am!” MK laughed at the very idea of that. “Nothing special about me!”
“Are you still telling yourself that? C’mon!” MK jumped when his reflection raised his voice in frustration. “I mean, I know willful denial became our thing ever since the Lady Bone Demon, but this is ridiculous. Don’t you think it’s a little strange that we took to Monkey King’s powers? And now we have Macaque’s shadow powers. Isn’t it weird? And not to mention that connection we felt with that stone egg on that mountain -
“La la la la la! I’m not listening!” MK shouted immaturely, slapping his hands over his ears.
“Seriously?! Denial again? It might work for you right now, but it’s all going to explode onto your face eventually if you don’t face it on your own terms soon.” His reflection sighed. “Whatever. It’s your own choice. But don’t keep your struggles to yourself when it happens. Wukong did the same thing too and remember where that got him?”
MK’s heart went cold with his reflection’s eyes flashed a familiar blue, no longer wearing the circlet. He could almost hear her whispers crawling into his ear like centipedes. He shuddered.
“Yeah, possessed by the Lady Bone Demon. I know.” He closed his eyes and took a shaky breath. “Can you stop doing that? Please?”
“…Fine.” Much to MK’s relief, his reflection shifted back to normal. “I know that LBD is a sore point for us, but we can’t have her in our head forever.”
“Any other words of wisdom?” MK asked sarcastically.
“Yeah, actually. I know how to get us back home.”
“Wait, what?!” MK perked up, awe and hope overtaking his entire face. “Why didn’t you say that before?! This will fix everything!”
“Not everything,” his reflection muttered to himself. MK chose not to acknowledge the quip. He was too excited to let anything bring down his mood. After all this time, MK finally had a way back to his world. “As for how to get back home, you’re going to have to use this furnace to -
“Shut up. MK isn’t going anywhere.”
A fist slammed onto the surface of the furnace, shattering it. MK stared disbelievingly as it fell into pieces right in front of his eyes. Wukong crushed the remnants of the furnace under his feet for good measure.
“No.” MK fell onto his knees. He felt his eyes water as he felt his hope get shattered and crushed in front of his very eyes. “No.”
“MK.” He felt himself being held. It was Macaque. He could feel A-Dan there also, clinging onto him and chirping with concern. MK didn’t have the energy to assure her, too overcome with grief and despair to do much of anything. “Shh. MK, it’s all right, cub. The problem was taken care of. You and A-Dan are safe. Shh. Shh.”
“But we aren’t safe,” MK whimpered. “Not here. Not with the way things are. We don’t belong here. We need to go back. Please let us go back. We aren’t even your kids. You have to know that by now.”
MK heard Macaque’s breath stutter. “I don’t care if you aren’t from our time or our world. You and A-Dan are ours, blood or not. We love you. And I don’t care if we have to go against the natural laws of the Three Realms, but we’ll fight tooth and nail to keep you.”
MK struggled in Macaque’s grip. He fought, he yelled, and then, after he realized all of his efforts were in vain, he went limp in the other’s hold and bawled uncontrollably. All the while, Macaque held him and continued to shush and croon into his ear as if he were a distraught child.
“I wanna go home,” MK wailed into Macaque’s shoulder as the other refused to let him go. “I-I-I just wa-wanna go home!” “You are home, MK.” MK felt Wukong at his back. The Monkey King engulfed all three of them in a tight hug. “And we’re never going to let you go.”

Prompt: Secret Relationship au.
During one of their training sessions, MK notices a bite mark on the nip of SWK's neck.
MK asks his mentor about it to which Swk give the excuse of one of the baby monkeys playing a little too rough before quickly changing the subject.
MK isn't fully convinced as the bite mark looks to be bigger than that of a baby monkey, but decides to drop the subject...for now.
Later, he tells Mei and the rest about his findings. They have long since suspected that Swk was hiding some kind of secret relationship with a mystery person.
Mei is the one to suggest that the mark is a "gift" left by the monkey king's lover after a particularly steamy night together.
Meanwhile, Swk is yelling at Macaque for leaving such an obvious mark on him after he specifically warned him not to or at the very least, don't leave one in such an noticable area because he had a training session with MK the next day.
Oooh, shadowpeach secret relationship?? I love it 😍
There's quite the potential for some super sweet fluff but there could also be plenty of angst in there too since Sun Wukong doesn't want MK to find out that the shadow monkey who has caused them so much trouble is his lover too.. it's both embarrassing and he worries it will affect how MK sees him since Macaque was kind of a jerk to him.

The vote is now closed!!
So I’m wanting to make a lego monkie kid story but idk which idea to use and i was hoping y’all could possibly help me out.
The story will be on my Wattpad and on here.
The ideas are mostly going to be crossovers though so fair warning.
And idk who should be in the love interest, all i know is that sun wukong, macaque and the mayor is going to be in it with the added bonus of the mayor being a yandere for the reader.
The reader will be female, unless I change my mind or something (little more at the bottom of the post.) and the love interest will be male unless some of the stories, if not all be platonic.
Oh! And I’ll be adding more ideas in whenever I think of some more
The ideas are:
X pokemon trainer!reader (this will probably be different than the crossover i made a little while ago.)
X zoroark!reader
X arceus!reader
X genshin god!reader
X mha!reader
X technoblade!reader (i don’t watch dsmp but i like the fan art of technoblade and his character design so I’ll be referencing the reader after him; sorry if this doesn’t make sense 😅, also Rest In Peace technoblade, you’ll never be forgotten.)(also before i forget you’ll be the daughter of pigsy and tang.)
X jjk!reader
X ata!reader (the reader will at least be a bender or the avatar.)
X modern!reader
X mascot!reader (This is were your basically my mascot platinum.)
X mascot fusion!reader (like the last one this is a fusion of my mascot and my friend mascot fused together. Me and her mascot’s are twins and basically represent sun and moon with our backstory. If that makes any sense.)
X Steven universe!reader (this is a weird one and you’ll be a gem or half-gem at least.)
X dbz!reader (the reader will be the daughter of beerus. I need to watch this first, i havn’t in a very long while.)
X mk’s mother!reader (it be fun to be a milf don’t y’all think?)
X shadowpeach child!reader (AU were wukong and macaque aren’t brothers, i would like to work on my angst and if this one is chosen then i can.)
X Naruto!reader (this could probably go a good few different ways in the story approach tbh.)
That’s all i have right now and i wouldn’t mind having y’all share any of your ideas if y’all would want to share it
Also some of these may have a gender change. I might make gender neutral scenarios for this that doesn’t have to be apart of the actually story so others can read it . But on Wattpad I’ll be doing either female or male but on here I’ll do gender neutral sometimes, if this all makes sense.
I’m hoping with the scenarios that i can include everyone so hopefully i do at least alright with it.
Oh! Let me add one more idea
X mlp!reader (i just thought this would be weird and funny 😅😂)
Anyway hope y’all like my idea and like I said before if you yourself have a idea please don’t be shy to share it with me. 😁
Also sorry if all of this is so confusing for y’all, it’s kinda hard for me to explain things 😅 if you have any questions i would be happy to answer them!!😁
Anyway bye and have a nice day/evening/night!!!
(Edited: voting number for each idea:
Mk’s mother!reader: 3
Technoblade!reader: 3
Shadowpeach kid!reader: 1
Zoroark!reader: 1 1/2
Pokémon trainer!reader: 1 1/2
Arceus!reader: 1/2
(Someone said Pokémon!reader but sadly didn’t specify which Pokémon!reader and so I’m going to do a half for each until they notify me about it😅)
I’ll keep updating this as the votes come in. Thank you for commenting I really appreciate it and it helps a lot when I do something like this. Also if your suggestions don’t get picked don’t worry I’ll be creating scenarios on here for the others that didn’t get picked plus the one that did. (Hopefully that makes sense.)
The vote deadline will be when one of the idea reached 10, if two or more has 10 or more votes then there will be a tie breaker, if there is a tie breaker between 2 vote it will either have a tie breaker or be combined into a one story, it all depends
(Edited: also i I wished I could make a journey to the west x reader book but I sadly don’t have the book….. yet. The only way I can possibly actually make a story about it is if I go off by this: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDb22nlVXGgdg_NR_-GtTrMnbMVmtSSXa so I may or may not make a reader story in the near or far future. Just wanted to give you a heads up for this possibility.)

Me reading that post about Erlang Shen shooting down SWK feelings like and asshole and I'm just like
Bro are you just bitter that your little sibling who was labeled "the bad kid" growing up, has better, healthier, more meaningful relationships then you? Are you mad he's found genuine love and respect from others who despite his fuck ups still accept him and wholeheartedly believe he deserves all the love and support he never got from heaven or the JTTW crew.
I know it's probably me jumping to conclusions but I feel this bitter old bitch is just jealous of wukong, at least just a little
Holy shit you went off
I mean you’re not wrong..
But also… I guess a sliver of him would be proud.. and then the other half of him wouldn’t think about it too much
I mean.. man.. the angst that could come with that
Love these brothers thank you op

Hello! I was wondering if you could do a fic /w/ Ler! Wukong and Lee! Macaque? Maybe he kept having flashbacks to their past, and Wukong wants to cheer him up? If not, that's okay. Bye!
Okay I finally did it!!! I kinda went super heavy on the angst at the beginning bc my life has been a fucking dumpster fire recently but I'm seeing a therapist so none of you bitches can judge me lmao
Anyway yeah very angsty angst and then very fluffy fluffy lol.
Hope you enjoy!
We Can Be Okay.
___________________________________________
As Macaque scrounged around in the kitchen at what must have been an ungodly hour of the night, he decided that fixing broken relationships was really, really hard.
He also decided that nightmares suck.
Silently cursing himself for making hot chocolate being his only somewhat healthy coping mechanism, he couldnt help but wonder if moving in with Wukong was a bad idea. He thought he was ready. He knew Wukong wasnt going to hurt him anymore. He wasnt scared anymore.
Or at least he thought he wasn't.
He supposed, as he stirred the warm drink, he had placed himself in a place where he would constantly be reminded of his apparent traumatic past. How did Wukong return here, after he...did what he did?
Macaques eye tingled.
But he wanted to be here. He had finally gotten his sun, his peaches, his everything back and he couldnt stop fucking flinching at him.
He had been told over and over about how he shouldnt feel guilty, how it was a normal reaction to what he had been through, how he should be more kind to himself.
He felt pathetic. He was angry at himself and
he didnt feel like being particularly kind.
He threw his spoon into the sink with a little more force than necessary. When it loudly clanked, he considered throwing it out the window instead. Because fuck you, loud spoon.
He wanted to sleep so badly. He was exhausted to his very core and his bones felt so heavy. But he just couldnt.
Every time he closed his eyes he was back. In the fight. In his memories. The bad ones.
He was almost falling asleep standing up.
"Mm..Mango?" A sleepy grumble from the other side of the room.
Danger. Danger. Macaque felt like his nerves were screaming at him. He fumbled with his hot chocolate.
Crash.
And the mug was in pieces on the floor and he was covered in fucking hot chocolate.
Warm blood soaked through his shirt and covered his face. He couldnt move. His best friend was killing him. He was dying.
No! No. He was in the kitchen. He dropped hot chocolate.
He couldnt breathe.
He couldnt-
breathe. Rocks slippery with his blood. He was dying he was dying he was dying
"-aque? I need you to breathe for me, can you do that? Macaque?"
Wukong was here.
Wukong was here. The fucking awful glint of that crown bore into his mind like a hot iron. His everything buzzed with agony and white hot pain throttled his face. His eye. Oh gods his fucking eye.
Wukong hesitantly placed a hand on Macaques shoulder.
Panic.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" He heard himself shout but it was so far away. Was it even his voice?
Macaque scrambled backwards on the floor. He couldnt remember getting on the floor.
"I wont." Wukong said, firmly placing himself in the floor with a fair share of space between the two.
"Don't" Macaque said, and it was a garbled whimper of a sound.
"I wont."
He could hear Wukong take a breath.
"Macaque, you're on the floor of our kitchen right now. You spilled some hot chocolate and I think you're having a panic attack."
Right. Hot chocolate. Kitchen. He could feel the  coolness of the floor on his skin.
"Try to take deep, slow breaths. You can copy me if you want."
Macaque looked up. The glinting crown was gone. He looked at the ebb and flow of Wukongs chest and tried to copy it as best as he could, although his breath hitched a bit.
"Can you tell me five things you can see?"
Right. Grounding techniques. Wukong must've talked to Sandy.
"Uhm. You, th-the mug, cabinets, the sink, and the window.
The world around him started feeling a little more real.
"Awesome. Four things you can touch?"
"The floor, my shirt, my fur, and...the cabinet behind me.
His breathing was evening out.
"Good, now three things you can hear?"
"The cicadas, the fridge, and my voice."
"Two things you can smell?"
"Hot chocolate and...sweat."
Ew.
"One thing you can taste?"
"Blood." He must've bitten his tongue at some point. Hard.
But he felt here now. And calmer. Wukong exhaled somewhat shakily.
"Are you...with me? Now?" He must've been spooked. Macaque supposed anyone would be, finding their partner having flashbacks to dying because they dropped a cup.
Gods, he was a wreck.
"Yes. I'm... here now. I'm sorry."
"No! Dont be sorry! I was just...worried about you." Wukongs face looked solemn before flipping into a more positive expression. "I'm gonna grab you a change of clothes real quick I'll be right back!"
That man could not stay still for more than two seconds at a time. Macaque huffed out a laugh.
Wukong hurried back, and insisted on cleaning up while Macaque changed and showered, and soon they were sitting in the living room with the sun just about to start peeking out at them.
It was pretty clear neither of them were going back to sleep.
Macaque knew what he needed to do. He needed to talk. About what he was feeling.
Sandy better make him scones after this.
"We...need to talk." Okay so he was definitely going to give Wukong a heart attack with that phrasing. God damn it.
The other monkeys tail curled around his leg in anxiety. "I'm listening."
"Wukong I love you, so, so much. More than I've ever loved anything. Its honestly ridiculous how your dumb ass somehow managed to wrap me around your little finger." Macaque huffed out an embarrassed laugh, before hesitating.
"I trust you. I know you're not going to hurt me, not anymore. But I- I think I'm," he sucked in a breath through his teeth, "still...scared of you. And I dont know how to deal with it."
"Macaque..." Guilt was coming off Wukong in waves, and if you looked at his face the only thing you could glean if you tried was— '"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry.'"
"I know. You're okay, peaches."
An intake of breath. "Okay." Wukong was fidgeting in his lap.
"Also, I dont know if I should keep living here. You know I love being with you. But theres too many—"
"Reminders?"
"Yes. I've been having nightmares. Every night."
"I'm sorry."
"I know. You're okay."
"Okay. I guess we'll just be having more sleepovers at your apartment then?" A weak lopsided smile greeted Macaque. He wanted to kiss it.
"Yes. Honestly I should've realized it was foolish to ever think I could escape you uprooting my entire living room for your insufferable pillow forts."
"Hey! My pillow forts are not insufferable! Unless you mean insufferably romantic?" Wukong said, waggling his eyebrows like the dork he is and his smile grew.
He was tired and Wukong was liquid sunshine. Gods, that smile. He really was hopeless.
Macaque grabbed his Sun Wukong, and flopped down on the couch with him, shoving his face into the crook of the others neck.
"See? You've gone soft, mango! Probably because you cant resist my pillow fort-y charms." Macaque could feel that sunny smile against his skin and it was so nice. He really had gone soft, he supposed.
"I must be completely hopeless to fall for someone as annoying as you." He said, and it couldn't be more obvious how little he meant it.
Wukongs hands brushed against his skin to adjust themselves against his back, and it made his skin prickle pleasantly.
Of course he was going to get one of those moods now because apparently the Buddha himself had a vendetta against Macaque maintaining any sense of dignity.
Macaque let out a heavy sigh. Communication time. Yippee.
Those scones better be damn good.
"...Wukong?"
"Yes?" Macaque couldnt see Wukongs face, but he could feel his smirk. Had his tone already given him away?
Uggggh. He really had to ask for this right now? Normally he would just annoy it out of Wukong but he was too tired for all that. He felt heat steadily rising to his cheeks.
"Can you do...the thing?"
"The thing."
"You know what I'm talking about!" Macaque lamented, trying not to squirm. "You're just trying to be an asshole."
"You love it." Macaque was not pouting. And if he were, he definitely wouldn't be doing it because Wukong was right. Definitely not.
He just let out some strangled whining sound into Wukongs shoulder.
"Use your words, darling." Wukong purred, and Macaque wanted to throw him off a roof because when he used those stupid pet names it still gave Macaque butterflies even after all these years.
"I already did, you bastard." Macaque said this through gritted teeth, but it was all for show. He wanted Wukong to make him say it, and he knew it, and Wukong knew it, and that flustered and excited him at the same time.
"Ah yes, and I still dont know what 'the thing' means. So it looks like we're a little stuck."
What a dick.
Macaque felt anticipation tingle in his stomach as his face prickled with heat.
"...Tickle me." Macaque mumbled into Wukongs shoulder.
"What was that?" Wukong crooned and his mouth was so close to Macaques neck that the vibrations actually almost tickled and it was agonizing and he loved it.
"I said! Tickle me, you impossible prick!" Macaque burst out, and he felt like his face was a fucking tomato.
"How could I say no to a sweet talker like you?"
Fingers wormed their way through Macaques shirt and began to flutter over his sides, gentle and lovely, because of course Wukong knew exactly what Macaque needed right now. No wonder he was head over heels for this dweeb.
Macaques stomach did a flip as he felt a dorky smile pull at the corners of his mouth. He knew his face was growing darker as he struggled to keep his giggles down, even though he also knew it was pretty useless.
"Are you hiding your giggles from me right now? I cant believe you!" Wukong fussed in mock offense, "I'm being deprived. Taken advantage of. Abused, even."
"Shuhuhut uhuhup!" Macaque tittered, muffled into Wukongs shoulder.
"Didnt quite catch that, hun."
Macaque lifted his head to retort, only to be met with a squeeze to his hips, allowing an impossibly embarrassing squeaky sound to leave his lips before he broke down into giggles.
"Mhmhm nohoho! Peaheachehes! Hahahah!"
"No? I thought I remembered you wanting tickles like, really bad, just a sec ago."
Wukong let his mouth rest on Macaques neck and the vibrations left Macaque feeling squirmy and fluffy and soft and he loved it.
As Macaque giggled his heart out, Wukong let his fingers wander up, under the others shirt, to lightly scritch at his ribs.
As squeaky hiccupy laughter filled the room, Wukong felt his heart melt.
"Ahahaha! Youhou- youhouhoure naihaihails ohohoh myhyhy gohohohd whyhyhyy!?"
"Why what? Why does it tickle so bad? Why are you so cute?"
Macaque thought he might just die now.
"Whyhyhyhy arhahahhareha youhouhouhou suhuhuhuch ahaha—HMmeEEK! " Macaque interrupted himself with something between a whimper and a squeal.
Wukong, the devious little fucker, was biting him. Nibbling on his neck and ears.
It felt like fireworks running through his skin. It tickled so bad. Not in the way that it made him laugh really loud, but in the way that apparently turned his brain to mush.
He loved it.
In between little bites Wukong murmured into Macaques ear "Its adorable how much you like this~"
All he got in response was a jumbled series of squeaks and some little kicks. Macaque shoved his face Wukongs shoulder because oh my god did he really just say that?
"You taste good, by the way. Very ticklish." He said, before returning to Macaques neck with ridiculous 'nom nom nom!' noises.
Macaque only had one thought in his head right now. "Ah! Ihihit tihihickles! Ahahaha!"
Wukong rumbled with laughter of his own and it sent vibrations through his neck that made Macaque wriggle around even more like some kind of giddy worm.
"Does it?"
"Yehehehees! Tihihihicklhehes!"
Wukong cooed and fluttered his fingers at Macaques sides before stopping for a second. "You're getting sleepy now, Mango. We gotta go back to bed soon.." he said with a yawn.
The moment Wukong stopped, Macaque felt his eyes start to droop and had to struggle not to yawn as well.
"Mnohot sleepy."
Wukong snorted. "You totally are. You're just also a little tickle addict." He said, giving a quick squeeze to the others hips for emphasis.
Macaque squeaked in suprise before giggling out a "Nohoh!" He left it painfully undisclosed whether he was saying no to being called a tickle addict, or the loss of tickles.
"Fine. A little more, then bed okay? You need to rest."
Macaque wanted to tell Wukong that there was no way he was accepting self care advice from the person who drank the entire supply of godly wine because he wanted to.
But he was tired.
So instead he said, "M'kay."
"I'll probably have to tickle your stubborn ass out of bed tomorrow morning anyways," Wukong said and suddenly there were hands at Macaques sides again and a big intake of breath.
As Wukong tickled the shit out of Macaques ribs, he blew the biggest raspberry right behind his ear.
Macaque squealed before going limp with laughter. "AHAHAHA! MMMAHAHAHA AHAHA FUHUHCK!"
Tickles shot through his whole body like lightning.
He legitimately thought that he was being sent to his grave with tickles.
And then Wukong did it again and again and again.
"AHAHAHAH OOHOKAHAY IHIHIHI CAHAHNT! IHIHILL SLEEHEHEP WHAHAHATEVEHERR!"
Wukong stopped and ran a hand through Macaques hair.
"You happy now, tickle bug?"
Macaque just nodded sleepily.
"Okay, c'mon, we gotta—ohhhkay." Macaque was snuggling into him now, clearly making himself comfortable.
How could he say no to this? He supposed his lifelong prospects of being a pillow weren't that bad.
Wukong looked down at his now asleep Macaque, and let himself relish the soft sleepy smile, and lazily wagging tail, knowing he had caused those things.
Yeah. Sleeping on the couch definitely wasnt that bad.

Twilight being the Six Eared Macaque though would have some nice angst potential. In the OG alongside some versions of the story, the Six Ears was actually Sun Wukong's more malevolent during his Warlord.
Adventures From China: Monkey King had an interesting take where the Six Eared Macaque was more confused than evil. Like he came into existence with no idea what or who he really is. So instead of killing this darker side, Sun Wukong just remakes him into a baby monkey that would become Twilight. Giving Six Ears a chance to form his own path and identity.
And the himbo doesn't realize he isn't Hylian until some incident during childhood. Or Rusl and Uli just sees this strange monkey baby one night then deciding to take him in.
....Okay I've had three hours to think about this while I was in jail and like...what if..he becomes the Six Eared Macaque because of the twilight shard.
What if that's part of the changes he's forced to endure as the dark magic binds with him. Or at the very least what if it changes him into something similar to the Six Eared Macaque.
Maybe the Six Eared Macaque very much was more confused than evil and Sun managed to guide him onto a better path or tried and failed to do so during his journey? So later seeing his son being forcibly changed into something so similar he vows to make sure Twilight never has to go through what Macaque did?
My brain hurts a little but that's what came to mind.

Red Son - Sitcom AU
Finally able to think about someone other than Sun Wukong or Macaque in this au, props to me!
Humor aside- I've been thinking of nothing but Red boyo so y'all get spur of the moment things about him for sitcom, though I can't promise it to be angst free- enjoy!
Is either high honors or principal's list in terms of grades (somewhere between 85-95 is his average)
He is so stressed all the time, my guy needs to chill
Gives himself his more homework in hopes of becoming better
Puts most of his self worth into getting good grades similarly to how he does in the show with schemes
Rich boy/girl, not necessarily the spoiled kind but definitely was a little entitled at the beginning
Has a curfew
Parents are the type to blow up her phone when their even just a few minutes late to coming home
Mk and Mei add him instantly to a group chat when they first meet
Says it's to communicate about their project without needing to be in first but it's mostly used to send memes, much to Reds dismay
They grow to find comfort in the group chat when she's having trouble with his parents
Gender fluid because ofc
Has a lot of books comprising of many different genres
Textbooks through the years, books they got to use for projects, a lot of ones on mechanics and engineering as well as just general science stuff
Is a big science nerd!
Mostly a big fan of chemistry and physics
Swk is still his uncle like in jttw but the ties between the bull family and wukong are complicated (talk about it in another post since it isn't red related)
Pif and dbk are still not good parents in this(at least until what would s3 of the au), I don't want to completely rewrite them since I want this to be close to lmk canon
I'm just going to have them be a tiny bit different
They are very strict to red and belittles him when he gets even a bit lower grade than expected
Red is very uncomfortable being touched by them like in the show
Mac is also kinda his uncle but they only briefly met when she was really young
Sucks at most art things, when they have to do an art project they tend to do something with mechanics
After she started hanging out with Mei and mk more frequently, and not just for school projects, he would try to find ways to show they were worthy of being their friend
Doing a lot of favors whenever they needed help with something, asking if they needed something fixed, using his allowance to buy them gifts or food as a way to convince em to let her stay
Is a stickler for rules and regulations
Will call someone out if they cheat at monopoly, will have them restart an entire game because someone broke a rule
Comes over to mks house whenever they hang out, the trio rarely go to red's or meis house
Mei and him confide in each other about their strict parents
Is one of the few people in the group to have a fashion sense
They got the pretty genes your honor
Gets acne breakouts from being overly stressed
Has multiple pairs of glasses in her bag incase they forget their usual pair at home
Is the type to go to sleep at seven or eight at night and wake up at like five in the morning
Is solely a tea drinker and refuses to drink coffee
Believed for the longest time that coffee stunts your growth
Has a full skin care routine
Puts hot sauce or something spicy in pretty much everything
Hates most cold foods
Literally heater
High pain tolerance
Very picky and tends to stays to a lot of their safe foods
Has MK and Mei's favorite and least favorite food memorized
Has said foods ready at her house when they're planned to visit
Will comment on how childish a show is, watches ironically to make fun of it in more detail, them finds them self hyper fixating on the show
The one that brings the shopping list to the store
Once mac gets redeemed, is thankful to have another person with a brain cell to converse with
Tutors mk sometimes
Struggles with basic money math but is able to do complex calculus in her sleep
Has given their two friends a scare because they went on a book reading binge and was too hyperfocused to answer their texts for a week
Phone background and home screen remains whatever the default was when he got the phone, doesn't see the importance of changing it
Until Mei stole their phone and changed everything, it was something he liked but still
Has one thing from every hyper fixation she's had in a box in their closet
Even though he's a heater, puts on thicker/warmer clothes at the briefest sign of fall or winter
She needs to set an example for the rest
Sandy's pets love them in the colder months, especially the cats
Owns both the girl's and boy's uniform for his school
Somehow extremely hated and liked at the school
Is far sighted(can see things that are far away) and has astigmatism
Can only sleep when their body is a plank and doesn't move in her sleep
Can cook since he gets left alone at home quite a bit
Is oldest out of the trio
Tw for the next few///
Hits self when frustrated or really angry
Picks at skin until they bleed
Has forgotten to eat or sleep for days because they were trying to perfect a project

I always appreciate people who are willing to criticize LMK. Even if I don't agree with all your points. There's a vocal section of the fandom that do nothing but praise it and get upset when you find fault with it or any of their beloved characters. I like the show too but there are plenty of flaws and room for improvement. But many don't want to have that discussion. So it's just nice to see some watchers not mindlessly soak up everything the writers give us. Because despite what people say ad nauseum, the show isn't perfect.
Monkie Kid spoilers below:
Huh well anon firstly while I am aware that it can be hard to convey sincerity on the internet, genuinely thanks for messaging me with the approach that you can appreciate me complaining about a lego cartoon even while you don't agree with everything I'm saying. Too often I've seen even what started out as little disagreements in fandom circles explode into gigantic messes because of this all or nothing attitude that's engulfing more and more of fandom. I feel like that more than anything is the reason why I've adopted an perspective of "don't like don't read goes both ways" when it comes to fandom stuff; people should be free to praise or criticize a piece of media as much as they please as long as they're not harassing people over it, and one can follow, ignore, or block as one sees fit.
But hmmmm I know every fandom has its absolute admirers, but in terms of JTTW understandings in the west I feel like that's a liiiiiiitle bit worrisome here because of the way Monkie Kid--at least to me (haha yea subjective opinions ahoy)--seems to rapidly be falling victim to the storytelling detriments of "moar epic!," fandom character favoratism, and demand for angst. I mean, this show started out with the premise that it was going to be a fun adventure aimed at children where they'd get to by-proxy do cool things with one of the most beloved characters from Chinese mythology. But seasons 2, 3, and now 4 have been following this pattern of "Sun Wukong is largely absent--something really bad happens partially because of the big villain but also because the Monkey King made a massive miscalcuation that made everything 1000 times worse--Qi Xiaotian gets trauma upon trauma as a result--we all get together to blow something up at the end which magically fixes everything. FOR NOW."
So yea, in accordance with what seems to be general fandom tastes we get an increasingly traumatized Qi Xiaotian. We get a Six-Eared Macaque (the obvious fandom meow-meow) who now apparently used to be the main member of Sun Wukong's Best Friends Forever club and who obviously never did anything wrong evaaaaaar (what with the show forgetting about all the stuff he put Qi Xiaotian through & everything in the plot so far indicating the shadow monkey believed wholeheartedly in the Monkey King right before Sun Wukong the evil betraying bastard bonked him to death), and we get stakes that are literally about the fate of the entire world or even all of reality every season. But the cost of all of that was a plot structure that is increasingly failing to address many of its threads (hey remember how the Demon Bull family were the ones who released Lady Bone Demon? R we ever going to address that?), less and less and less genuine interactions between Sun Wukong and Qi Xiaotian, and, well, an increasing tendency in both fanon and canon to depict Sun Wukong as a careless screw-up at best and a selfish asshole at worst, or as a traumatized & miserable mess who needs to spend at least 100 years in therapy before he could even think about being anyone's mentor.
I mean hell, based on what I understand from the last twitter blow-up about all of this the response to the possibility that Sun Wukong was Qi Xiaotian's bio dad--you know, something that in a different context could have been a source of joy and excitement if it was about a father and son who had been torn apart through outside circumstances and were finally reunited--was first even MORE anger at the Monkey King for being a deadbeat dad on top of all his other screw-ups, and then relief when a lego show writer felt compelled to make it clear Sun Wukong was not the father. Because at this point if he was indeed Qi Xiaotian's bio dad, especially if Sun Wukong knew it the whole time, the implications would be really, really bad. Add all of that to every other character in Monkie Kid yelling at Sun Wukong for being a dumb idiot and/or terrible person, the absolute silence (except for some very brief flashbacks) on Sun Wukong's thoughts about any of this, and the "chaos monkey uwu" framework that Sun Wukong and his journey is already commonly understood through in the west (plus this weird reluctance and even refusal to consider what happened in the og classic that I've seen in some circles), and it feels like a lot of the Monkey King & co.'s nuance, complexity, and more fascinating aspects are being erased from common western perceptions of Journey to the West. And YEA obviously a silly lego show isn't going to get into the theological & moral complexities of a ~1,400 page novel, but given that Monkie Kid seems to have become one of THE primary ways that a western audience is being introduced to this story, I do wish that there was more of an effort to at least acknowledge what happened in the og classic.
IDK, in terms of Monkie Kid maybe future episodes will finally give us some answers for what happened to the og pilgrims that will be satisfying. Maybe they'll finally provide a decent aswer for why the Monkey King betrayed his sworn brotherhood and became a isolated failure who's hated by basically everyone who actually knows him. But as it currently stands I just think that if you've got a plot where the shifu and tudi pair now barely interact & a fan base where a significant portion is THAT quick to think the absolute worst of the Monkey King even though this is literally a silly lego show about having adventures with the Great Sage, then you really need to pause and think about why we're at this point :I
