I made it a challenge to myself to watch all the teen dramas, and I think I have finally watched them all (at least the classics). Since I have finished all the teen soaps, I think I shall rate them with my bias opinions (this is 2010s and later only)....
#1: Teen Wolf. I debated adding the supernatural ones to this list, but alas I had to. This show is #1 because it embodied everything teen drama with actually good acting, an iconic villain (Void!Stiles) and a ship I would die for (Stydia). this show had everything the teen dramas were hoping for, there is an actually lovable main character, an even more loved best friend, and an epic story of romance and saving the world every day while still in highscool. what more could you ask for?
#2: since supernatural teen soaps are in this, Buffy the Vampire Slayer will always have my heart. This show went beyond teen angst and became a much deeper, emotional show as it matured with the audience, but it will forever be a classic and would make #1 if it weren't for the whole deeply moving and painful season where Buffy grappled with wanting to be dead and trying not to hate her friends from tearing her away from heaven.
#3: Gossip Girl. This show had everything a teen drama could ask for. Rich people, more rich people who just acted like they were poor but they lived in a giant apartment in Brooklyn, love triangles, back and forth will they or won't they, and the best mystery of the 2000s: who is GG??? the best part about this show was I loved to hate every character on this show, and it made me even more invested every episode.
#4: The OC. This might come to a shocker to most, but this show (though was a little too serious sometimes) was the only teen drama I watched where they had almost as much humor as they did angst. Summer and Seth were the soul of this show, truthfully, and it was the only teen angst show that had me loving every character by the end. It embodied the essence of highschool teen drama shenanigans like any TV show would attempt and misrepresent and I forever will love it for it.
#5: The Vampire Diaries. This show gets #5 for iconic stats only, if I'm honest. However there's something about tvd that makes me want to rewatch just about every new month. With the most iconic couple, Damon and Elena as a plus, theres still the epically annoying love triangles, it's poor acting, and the never ending amount of necks these vampies snapped. this show will always baffle me for its pull on ppl (me included) with some of the most annoying main characters to exist leading most the show. The entire TVD franchise is attached to this, because I refuse to add any of the other spins offs in this list.
#6: One Tree Hill. This show, if being rated for this soap opera plots alone, would've been #1 on this list. One Tree Hill was the embodiment of pointless fighting, ridiculous plots, and epic love triangles. Nothing beats how this show idolized basketball, and how it demonized a dad that never had any real reason to be such a horrible dad. like seriously, why did he hate Lucas sm??? it was never really ever explained. For me personally, this show made #6 merely because I'm a girl who loves a good ship, and there was never a ship I was ever truly invested in for this show. Naley was lovely, but I never could get too invested in any of these characters. They were always very 2 dimensional and had very little growth (aside from Nathan and Brooke, obviously).
#7: Veronica Mars. This show honestly belongs up there with BTVS with its witty dialougue, interesting and dramatic myteries, love to hate characters, and the epic love story that is LoVe. however it gets knocked down to 7th place due to its lack of an ending and then the creator's absolutely ruining the entire show by giving us one more season with the worst ending to exist (and I've seen HIMYMs ending).
#8: Dawson's Creek. This show is a mix of hate and love for me, though it does hold a special place in my heart. It belongs higher up the list for its wordy dialogue, perpetual declarations of love and the meaning of life, and its never ending love triangle. I loved Pacey, Joey, Jen, and Jack very dearly in this show. They all were precious characters who all grew up tremendously (especially Jen and Pacey). and of course, Pacey and Joey's love story might just be one of the best ones in all of teen dramas. however, it gets demoted down to the lonely number 8 because I simply just did not like Dawson. Sadly, it being called Dawson's Creek, he was quite a regular in the show, too. even plots usually circulated around him most episodes. He was self righteous, selfish, narcissistic, a manipulator, and truly he never changed until the final episodes. I always thought I hated Elena in tvd, but at least with Elena she meant good. Dawson wanted nothing but his way, and most of his actions (like his hate for Pacey) were purely because he was a whiny baby that hated that he didn't get what he wanted. I mean, Pacey and Joey were literally fighting about telling him - on their way to tell him in that very moment. Joey was the one who didn't want to tell Dawson the most - and yet Dawson spent the rest of the show (until the final episodes) hating his best friend for simply loving someone Dawson decided he had dibs on. Joey and Pacey were the only thing that kept me watching, since Jack and Jens plots were few and far between the longer the show went on.
#9: This placement really is just for all the other teen dramas I left out, especially for the shows that were an odd mix of drama and comedy, or never really had any opportunity to fall into any of the classic teen drama trends. some honorable mentions would be Freaks and Geeks, Gilmore Girls, Degrassi (I just refuse to watch Degrassi, tbh), Charmed, and 90210.
#10: and last and most certianly least, Pretty Little Liars. I hated this show, and truthfully never finished the last seasons. I just skipped and watched the finale because I became so irritated with every aspect of this entire series. However, it's start was good, and I will always remember the thrill of watching the first season and trying to peice together just who A really was.

I'm so sorry if you've already been asked this (you can ignore me if you have) but what would you choose as your three favorite brucas scenes, three favorite naley scenes and three favorite jeyton scenes? I can't wait to read your answers!
You're fine! And I've definitely never been asked this. These probably won't be in any particular order. Also, I cheated because I couldn't narrow it down to three scenes per couple.
Brucas:
2x09 - The Trick Is to Keep Breathing
Tumblr media
It's the beginning of everything! While I still think the journey to Lucas realizing he has strong feelings for Brooke could have been set up better, I'll always love the clear tension in this moment. Even though Brooke and Lucas are now on good terms, Brooke has spent so long actively avoiding love directly because of Lucas's actions the previous season. She was on the verge of letting nasty Felix into her life only to realize he'd been lying to her. But of all people, Lucas is the one to comfort Brooke and take her home. This scene shows such promise for their future.
2x23 - The Leavers Dance
Tumblr media
I love a good love confession. After several episodes of Lucas keeping his feelings to himself, he could no longer fight them. No one had to talk him into making a move. No one had to explain why all of his actions and words indicated he was in love with Brooke. Lucas simply listened to his heart. And even though Brooke is so caught off guard and still understandably afraid to let him back in, she only barely manages it. Even though the scene leaves their romantic future in an uncertain place, it's a very significant scene.
3x13 - The Wind That Blew My Heart Away
Tumblr media
I'm a sucker for rain kisses in fiction. I almost didn't want to include it because it feels like Lucas does this same "No, really, I want to be with you" thing far too often, particularly whenever the possibility of his feelings for Peyton come up. But even though Brooke has understandable trust issues and still needs reassurance Lucas loves only her, Lucas keeps fighting for their relationship. And.. I don't know. I just love them. If only this had been the end of the triangle.
5x18 - What Comes After the Blues
Tumblr media
Brooke told Lucas not to come. But because Lucas realized Brooke needs someone even if she denies it, he still showed up. Because taking care of Angie meant something to him, too. There is only one impactful Lucas Scott scene taking place at an airport, and it's not his sad excuse for a proposal.
Naley:
2x01 - The Desperate Kingdom of Love
Tumblr media
This is so dumb, but the first Naley proposal honestly makes me feel like a kid again LOL. I thought this was the most romantic scene in the world the first time I watched this. Now that I'm older, there are so many things wrong with it and Nathan's codependency, but it's hard to deny the impact of the scene itself and the intensity of their love for each other. There are a million reasons why they shouldn't get married, but the simple fact is they love each other and want to be together. So why can't it start today? As naive as the whole thing was, it's very sweet knowing that after so many ups and downs and near breakups, the two came out of the series together, stronger than ever.
3x13 - The Wind That Blew My Heart Away
Tumblr media
Again, I love a good rain scene. Really, so many season 3 moments could take the place of this one. But this was the moment that solidified everything would be okay and that Nathan and Haley were going to get their marriage back on track.
6x24 - Remember Me as a Time of Day
Tumblr media
This was the pinnacle of everything Nathan had been working towards since the time jump. It's such an amazing, raw moment of the two celebrating and Haley just.. launching herself into Nathan's arms. She's so damn proud of him. He's so grateful that she always believed in them. They're the best.
9x13 - One Tree Hill
Tumblr media
Unlike the other three scenes, this isn't a super significant moment. It's just a nice little cap on Naley's love story. We get sweet callbacks and one, final kiss in the rain.
Jeyton:
2x16 - Somewhere a Clock Is Ticking
Tumblr media
Really, the entire love scene is my favorite. It's just so passionate and full of tremendous chemistry. Hilarie and Bryan's chemistry is rarely ever given its due, but they worked incredibly well together. Look how happy and content Peyton looks here.
2x18 - The Lonesome Road
Tumblr media
It's so bittersweet, but their first I love you is very sweet to witness. I hate that they were given so little time together.
2x22 - The Tide That Left and Never Came Back
Tumblr media
"I could have held you in my arms forever, and it still wouldn't have been long enough." Enough said. Jake loved Peyton more than Lucas did and it's not close.
3x19 - I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me
Tumblr media
No matter how things ended between them, I still cry and/or jump whenever I see this scene. It was so well executed. After an entire season of Peyton struggling, seeing her back with Jake felt right. I'll never be over the clear happiness radiating off both of them.

I've been rewatching One Tree Hill along with the Drama Queens podcast, and something just occurred to me at the end of 1x15.
I often forget that it's Haley who sets the ball rolling on Nathan getting emancipated. Deb tells Nathan the divorce will likely go to court, Nathan vents to Haley that he doesn't know what his rights are, and Haley responds that they should look them up and that "knowledge is power." (My soul leaves my body every time I have to remember how bare bones the Internet was at this point in time but whatever.) Because of their research, Nathan is later empowered to tell Dan and Deb that since he isn't sure he wants to live with either of them if they're going to continue viciously fighting, all he has to do is make his case to the judge. As we know from later on, he gets emancipated, and that decision shapes the rest of his future. (When you couple this with Haley also having been a factor in his briefly walking away from basketball, you really see how she was a strong advocate for him and always tried to help him make the best decisions possible, even when they were teens.)
But something else occurred to me just now, watching the coda where Haley sings "Elsewhere," the first time she sings on the show. She's already told Nathan that she doesn't sing around other people, and he expressed his interest in hearing her sing sometime. He follows it up by making that his request, since he's had enough talking, when she offers to help him get past the weirdness of the day by talking about it. So she sings, because he wants to hear her, because someone's interested in her that way. And that decision--to sing in front of someone when she never has before, to get comfortable with herself and their relationship that way--shapes the rest of her future. And another thing we know from later on is that that road isn't always easy for them--the first time she goes on tour nearly sinks them--but in the end, their marriage survives it all, and Haley gets her singing career.
Just... god. Rewatching has already shown me why Naley was, and is, so special to me, but realizing because of this episode how integral they each are to the direction the other's future takes is... so beautiful. It's sort of another facet to your art matters. Nathan and Haley care about what the other wants out of life and they help each other get there, to what they want for themselves and what they want out of their chosen passion. I literally almost started crying before thinking about it, so I'm gonna go cry some more. 😛

My Top TV Show Female Characters
I made a male version of this that some people actually read (thanks!!) So I thought it's time to make my female version! I'm sure there's more that I adore, but these are the ones that immediately came to mind. *In no particular order*
Haley James Scott (One Tree Hill)
Tumblr media
Bethany Joy Lenz was one of the best actors on this show, and she brought so much to this character that I'm sure was only initially supposed to be your typical best friend to the main character. Haley James Scott was more than that. She is a wonderful wife (Naley forever, my #1 otp and simply iconic) and mother. Not only that, but she's talented and funny af. Her humor is so underrated, especially during her pregnancies, lol. Not only that but never mess with her family cause she will quite literally fuck you up (*cough* see Rachel Gatina) 💀
Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl)
Tumblr media
1/2 the reason why I even bothered with Gossip Girl to begin with. Takeaway that God awful relationship with the wannabe Batman voiced man, she is a literal queen that deserved better!! Leighton Meester's acting so underrated it annoys me that her career didn't skyrocket after this (there's still time though 🙏). Blair had her flaws, but was shown to be quite the good person despite everything. She is not only intelligent, but she's witty af and I love every bit of her sass. If only she had ended up with someone on her level mentally and spiritually.
Manny Santos (Degrassi TNG)
Tumblr media
A whole ass trendsetting queen!!! Manuela Santos walked so that so many other bad ass tv women could run. The very first time I watched this show I instantly fell in love with her. She was honestly a good ass friend that dealt with so much shit that she didn't deserve. The abortion storyline was simply great because I'm almost positive girls watching the show felt safe knowing they had options when it comes to unplanned pregnancies. Her style? Immaculate. Her ability to change a once bad boy to an actual good guy? Iconic. Love her forever.
Stephanie Tanner (Full House)
Tumblr media
This show was the very first sitcom I fell in love with as a little girl. I remember loving Stephanie. To the point where I wanted to join dance classes to be like her lol. I always was more invested in her storylines and I thought she was extremely relatable. Her catchphrases >>>> and the episode where she drove the car into the kitchen? Forever iconic. I haven't seen enough of Fuller House to give an opinion, but I'm sure she was just as iconic on there.
Jen Lindley (Dawsons Creek)
Tumblr media
My sweet precious muffin. My cinnamon apple. Jen brought so much to this show. An iconic friendship (her and Jack 😭😍), amazing character development, and a lovable personality. I truly love her so much and I cannot believe the way her story ended. She deserved so much more. She was a beautiful person inside and out and Michelle Williams did such an amazing job. Especially when she was the youngest amongst the cast.
Lydia Martin (Teen Wolf)
Tumblr media
My favorite banshee ❤ I seem to love characters with amazing character developments because here's yet another character that had amazing development. Lydia literally went from typical mean girl to an actual badass superhero. She was so real and so complicated (in a good way). I loved the depth to her character and forever happy they didn't keep her as the mean girl with no personality. Lydia Martin is a powerful woman. Also, her and Stiles forever have my heart.
Lois Lane (Smallville)
Tumblr media
I love this show and the minute she came on I personally believe the show got better. Lois and Clark are legendary especially on Smallville. I know a lot of people preferred Lana and at first I was all Lana/Clark. But once Lois came on, I was like Lana who? Lois was more interesting and had better chemistry with Clark imo. I think my love for this character stems mainly from Erica Durance. She brought such a light and lovable vibe to this Lois.
April Kepner (Grey's Anatomy)
Tumblr media
A strong ass woman. She faced so much hardship, but never ever gave up. Like the amount of shit this woman had to deal with?? It's always the characters that I love that have to deal with a lot and quite often never get the happiness they deserve. I'm so happy they brought her back and gave her a better and more proper ending with Jackson aka who she deserved to be endgame with. April could be quite neurotic to the point where it got annoying. But I still loved her and her flaws. She was extremely relatable. Also let's take a second to recognize how amazing Sarah Drew is.....the shooting episode and scene with the shooter??? ICONIC.
Tia and Tamera (Sister Sister)
Tumblr media
Another sitcom I absolutely adore. Tia and Tamera are forever iconic queens in the show and in real life. I'll admit, Tia was favorite as a kid. I resonated with her more, but during my last rewatch as an adult I enjoyed the two of them and now I can't really choose a favorite. These two are my childhood ❤

I’m obsessed with this weeks episode:
We got to talk about Brooke’s empty feelings and how she feels alone and pressured almost to accept the affection that is being handed to her despite it not making her feel better
We got acknowledgement of Haley and her ownership over her Keller arc. How she’s willing to toe that line because even though she loves Nathan, Keller can give her something she wants too, and she feels like she can do that without being unworthy of Nathan and how that story line is so grown up and how realistic it is that Naley don’t know how to deal with it.
We got them calling out Lucas’ Saviour Complex, and how he’s just lurking around trying to fix peoples problems. And how he’s somehow involved in every discourse, and Peyton gets to call him the fuck out on forcing his way into hers when he sees her crying, but not caring enough before that. He wants to play hero.
The WHOLE ENTIRE unwrapping of Hilarie’s story line, and how much all of them care about it, and how some of it was seeded with the writers being manipulative and how well Hilarie handled that even though not feeling comfortable with taking her shirt off. But Joy and Sophia’s insightful look into who much it means to them and the viewers. How holding out for doing something like taking off her shirt to this moment made it more impactful that it was a spur of the moment protest.
Peyton’s art being used for protest getting a moment to SHINE!
The touch on storytelling about bisexual and queer women, and how that affected Hilarie, and her past with fluidity and experimenting being followed by rumours, and bringing things up like those topics almost “outing” her and affecting her career.
The POEM. I live and breathe for that poem. I had that album pirated before I saw the show and hearing it on this episode felt like... part of who I was as a kid.
Joy saying that she’d be proud if her daughter was like Peyton feels like a healing moment, especially after Peyton had such a distressing breakdown the last episode missing her mom, and hearing from Karen that her mom would be proud of her.
The squeals over Jake and how he’s a different kind of boy and they love him.

With your answer about wanting BH to scream and kiss I remember the episodes of One Tree Hill season 5 when they did a time jump. If you don’t know about this show, basically BAs think Peyton is Betty and Lucas is Archie even when they have nothing in common relationship wise, specially when we get to the time jump, but anyways. They project those delusions into endgame couples with remotely similar archetypes. Peyton and Lucas broke up when they were going to college (he proposed and she said no) and Lucas and Brooke (Peyton’s friend) dated but he cheated on her with Peyton (that’s the only thing BAs can draw from it even when both of their relationships were significantly different and actually well developed not just used as trauma value). So, time jump after 5 years. Lucas is a writer and he published a book about his love for Peyton and invited her to the book signing but she didn’t show up (except she did but then turned around but that was a plot twist) – sounds familiar? So Lucas is in a committed relationship and actually will get married but Peyton shows up to town and changes everything because he is obviously still in love with her and they gave them jealousy, pinning and this amazing scenes when they are yelling at each other and she confesses she brought ever single copy of his book when she saw it.
These are the scenes: https://youtu.be/xW6C9Ea37yY and https://youtu.be/W-KzCtiyB-M AND THIS https://youtu.be/72PAqwMOpQI (I recommend you watch the scenes).
Riverdale will never master this level of writing because the show is so boring now and they had all the material to make memorable and dramatic scenes for BH with the whole book, voicemail and just everything but refused to do it. On OTH, they even had Peyton finally read the book almost at the end of the season (it was Lucas ex fiancé that gave it to her) like the material was there for Riverdale and nothing… the characters are emotionless and drama free in the most unrealistic way. Nothing about them on season 5 was cathartic.
Oh anon, I was never an addict, but I've seen OTH. I am familiar with the Lucas/Peyton/Brooke triangle but I always though Lucas was kind of trash.
I hope in the future, Bughead will be the Naley of Riverdale. Right now they're skewing towards Lucas/Peyton/Brooke but before they were very Naley...the steady couple to their friends' drama and while they had issues, they were couple issues that they soon resolved.
Can we get back to that please? Because dragging this out is hella boring.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but I always thought hayley loved nathan more than he loved him. Although she made a mistake with Chris she never did it again. While nathan continues season after season to flirt with other girls (peyton, taylor, rachel, carrie) and I would even say he almost cheated on her without suffering the consequences (s5) and she forgives him every time.
I get what you mean and to an extent, I think I agree. I think part of why it seems like Haley loves Nate more is because we see her suffer the consequences of her actions towards him in a way we don't really see the other way around. She left in season 2 (because IRL Joy was on tour) and she spent the first part of season 3 proving herself to Nathan. He did not let her off easy and in episode after episode, we saw her gain his trust back. On top of that, Peyton was upset with her, Lucas had her back but also acknowledged Haley's behavior towards Nate as wrong, and Brooke was the same. Just in general, the hurt Haley has caused Nate is explored in seasons 2 and 3, and narratively, it's a big deal. Comparatively, Haley forgives Nathan quickly despite him making more mistakes. Now compare that to everything Nate has done. He gets involved with a bookie that leads to a situation with Haley in the hospital while pregnant, flirts with/leads on their live-in nanny JUST as he and Haley begin to rebuild their relationship after his few months as an angry, depressed alcoholic, flirting with Taylor, encouraging Rachel (whether he "meant to" or not), and more (there are "reasons" why he does all of these but that's not the point). He apologizes a TON but his actions never hold weight in the story. He isn't held accountable by anyone for his treatment of Haley after they are married except once by Lucas during Midnight Madness if I'm remembering right. If Jamie hadn't fallen in the pool during season 5, I wonder what would have happened after Naley's fight about Carrie. Haley gets upset and asks Nathan when he is going to stop jeopardizing everything they have built. Nathan doesn't retreat but instead, he gets angry with Haley and says that he's trying to be honest about everything but sometimes with her it's never enough...and to me, his attitude and statements in that fight just don't feel justified. Then, Jamie is kidnapped, and Haley takes Nathan back. If those situations with Jamie wouldn't have happened, I wonder what would have instead?? I would hope that Haley would have had room to be upset in a way that doesn't make people write her off for overreacting. I know the writer's strike also happened in season 5 so I'm not sure how much that impacted the way that whole story was told. It's hard because it's made clear that Haley is important to Nathan, and he knows it, but somehow he also seems to take her for granted. It's just weird.

Ranking every Teen Drama I have ever watched
(Updated)
The Secret Life of the American Teenager
+ young Shailene Woodley and Molly Ringwald I guess
- everything else. Even Shailene Woodley's and Molly Ringwald's performances weren't that great because the writing is just oh so bad. The background music is bland and repetative and it sounds like out of some teenager's YouTube chanel. The plotlines are ridiculous and convoluted, which isn't neccessarily such a bad thing, because it is a teen drama show after all, the problem is the show seems to take itself too seriously. Other entries on this list also have ridiculously convoluted plotlines, but I'm ranking them highed because they don't take themselves too seriously and don't claim to be realistic like this show does. Seriously, from the title it suggests like this was going to be a real, uncensored look into high school but it's the furthest thing from it. Not to mention how problematic it is- God forbid someone suggests that a 14-year-old pregnant girl gets an abortion or gives the baby up for adoption without being seen as a terrible and despicable person.
Otp: Marc Molina x a job somewhere far, far away from these kids
Notps: every single pairing on this show
Best moment: literally none
Weirdest moment: "I'm such a whore!" "Well, you're my whore." What were the writers thinking??? Was this supposed to be romantic??
We Children From Zoo Station
+the aesthetic, the casting of Christiane, Detlef and Axel
-this was such a letdown. Honestly I was so hyped for it after seeing the trailer since I've read the book and didn't particularly like the movie- I feel like it's hard to fit all of Christiane's story into 90 minutes. That's why I was so excited about this show. Christiane's story covers so much, so it's easier to make it into a TV show when you don't want to ommit anything and butcher the story. But they somehow managed to do it anyway. They changed so much for no reason and completely erased Christiane's childhood trauma, which was important in the book. Now, I know you can say that it's just a loose adaptation, so it doesn't have to follow the book word for word. But I feel like if you already decided to tell her- a real person's story- you should at least do it authentically. Imo they shouldn't have tried to make the setting vague. It worked with Sex Education because the story of Sex Education is timeless. However, Christiane's story is not timeless. It's a true story set in the 1970s. If they were making a new show from scratch, I would have liked it. But this is an already existing story and they’re supposed to be just retelling it. My last issue is a nit pick but I wish the actresses playing Stella and Babsi were reversed. It just would've fit better.
Otps: all those kids x sobriety
Notp: Christiane x Detlef
Best moment: Christiane's first time in Sound was pretty true to the book
Weirdest moment: when Detlef became a gigolo because he needed money for his dog. Who tf thought of that?
Pretty Little Liars
+ makeup, style, the theme song, the drama and mystery that always kept me guessing, the cliffhangers at the end of each episode that made it so addictive, Emily's coming out story, Hanna and Spencer had some good lines
- the mishandling of some serious issues (namely eating disorders), romantization of student-teacher relationship, the timeline not making much sense, these writers seem to put more thought into the characters' outfits than the storylines
Otps: Emily x Maya, Hanna x Caleb
Notp: Ezria
Best moment: Hanna and Caleb in the shower (the sexual tension was cuttable with a knife)
Weirdest moments: Aria asking Ezra out in the middle of a make-up test (it was supposed to be cute but it was just cringy), Spencer trying to block A's text messages on a laptop, in the middle of a park (what? Spencer, you were supposed to be the smart one!)
One Tree Hill
+ Brooke, the theme song, Chad Michael Murray
- the casual drinking and driving (I mean seriously these kids play a drinking game at a party and then casually hop into a car and drive home??), too much basketball and cheerleading (that's not a bad thing per se but I just don't really care about neither of these things), it just seems too stereotypical and kinda bland?? I couldn't really get into it
Otp: Naley
Notp: Peyton x Nathan
Best moment: Naley by the dock
Weirdest moment: "I guess I'm just a riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside a bitch." It's not really a bad moment but a cringy line. I guess the writers though they were being clever but it just sounded bad.
Dawson's Creek
+ the clothes, the 90s aesthetic, the 90s soundtrack, many movie references, Pacey is a sweetheart, Jen is a feminist icon, dealing with mental health issues through Andie (it's rare to see in shows as old as this)
- the slutshaming of Jen really hasn't aged well, the storyline of Pacey being statury raped by his much older teacher was mishandled (it was either treated as scandalous, cool or in Andie’s case somehow shameful), same goes for Jen’s backstory- it was mentioned she was raped at 12 by an older man and then never brought up again, Dawson is the most unlikable protagonist ever and his friendship/relationship with Joey is codependent and possessive, the dialogue is sometimes pretentious and unrealistic, the timeline doesn't really add up- I can never tell what time of the year it's supposed to be, because it looks like it's always fall for some reason. And how did they sophomore year have two homecomings?
Otps: Pacey x Andie, Pacey x Joey (yes, both at the same time)
Notp: Dawson x Joey
Best moments: Jen helping Joey when that jerk was spreading rumours about her and then Jen and Joey locking Abby in the closet together (I love it when they stick together instead of tearing each other down), Pacey and Joey bickering
Weirdest moments: when Joey was upset because Dawson didn’t want to tell her how often he “walks his dog”, when Jen was about to have a treesome at a party and Dawson walked into the room and carried her out despite her kicking and screaming
Glee
+ funny, Sue Sylvester's iconic, great covers and a way to find new songs, the performances are aesthetically pleasing, lgbtq+ representation, tackling of serious issues, coming out story, a father who’s accepting of his son’s sexuality right away despite not really understanding it (it’s so rare to see, that’s why it’s so refreshing), the plotlines are ridiculous but at least the show doesn't take itself too seriously
-as I already said the 1st season was great but after that it just seemed like the writers made up a checklist of hard issues they should tackle and tried to tackle every single one of them while covering every single song and it just fell flat. Prime example- Quinn ending up in a wheelchair getting into a car crash to warn us from drinking and driving, singing I’m Still Standing and then suddenly being able to walk normally after. a few episodes Rachel and Finn got almost all songs, while other characters were criminally underrated and underused (Tina, Quinn, Mercedes). The teachers are questionable to put it mildly. Cringy moments- Finn singing You're Having My Baby to Quinn in front of her parents when it wasn't even his baby! Also no one except of Kurt looks like they could be in high school. And why are these cheerleaders wearing their uniforms 24/7??
Otps: Brittana, Sam x Quinn, Tina x Artie (unpopular opinion, I know), Mr Schue x unemployment
Notp: Quinn x Finn
Best moments: Quinn giving birth to Bohemian Rhapsody
Weirdest moment: Rachel's gross and painfully awkward crush on Mr Schue, Mr Schue joining the Glee club on the stage for a performance of Toxic and girls in the audience cat calling him (Ewww)
Euphoria
+ Zendaya's and Jacob Elordi's performances, tackling of serious issues such as drug addiction and overdose, anxiety and depression, abusive relationships and abortion in a better manner than most (if not all) teen dramas, the aesthetics, makeup and wardrobe, the musical number in the finale, the special episodes giving us insight into the characters' psychology, toxic relationships not being romanticized (which is sadly rare), teenagers sounding like actual real life teens (no "I reject reality" crap)
- lack of comic relief (why so serious all the time), sexualization of teen characters (I know this is something many teen dramas are guilty of but it's the most evident here), too much nudity (I know some of you are going to come at me with: "But it's realistic!" So what? It is realitic that teenagers get naked when they go into shower but does it mean we have to see it?? It seems to me like this show is trying too hard to be "boundary pushing" at times and ends up being scandalous just for the sake of being scandalous), these characters just aren't believable as high school juniors to me (they sound like high schoolers but they certainly don’t act, look or dress that way). There's no reason this show couldn't have been set in college.
Otps: Rue x sobriety, Nate x prison
Notps: Nate x Maddy, Cassie x McKay
Best moments: "You did this to me!" and the musical number in the season 1 finale
Weirdest moment: the fact that Maddy lost her virginity at 14 to a 40-year-old man being mentioned so casually because apparently she was "totally in control". Excuse me what??
Skins
+ style and makeup- each character has a signature trademark (Sid and his beanie, Effy's eyeliner, Cassie's soft eyeshadow), their British accents, I'm pretty sure this is the only teen drama that follows multiple classes, teenage characters being played by actual teen actors, the characters looking like average people you meet in high school and not as if they just walked off the runway, dealing with serious issues such as drug abuse, eating disorder, parental abandonment etc (yes, some people claim the show romanticized it, but I disagree. It's not the show that romanticized it- it's the fans. The show tried to portray the dangers of drugs as well as possible. Think about it- every time characters used drugs it ended in a disaster. In the pilot they thought that Cassie overdosed and ended up crashing a car while rushing into the hospital. In later season Effy hit her friend in the head with a rock because she was having a bad trip. That's not romanticizing drugs.), Effy is iconic and honestly the first episode was enough to get me hooked
- every single teacher being a creep and having a thing for a student at some point, the show can get too dark and unncessarily dramatic at times. Did that many people have to die? Did Chris's death really have to be this graphic? Timeline doesn't really add up- are 8 episodes supposed to cover the whole year? It would've made more sense if there were more episodes in a season.
Otps: Chris x Jal, Emily x Naomi
Notps: Sid x Michelle
Best moment: ooh baby it's a wild world
Weirdest moment: Chris's graphic death
The OC
+ more grounded in reality than many others on this list, the theme song, the love stories, Seth and Summer are funny, the friendships are believable and the whole group has great chemistry
- too many unneccessary fights, Luke is the worst, everyone is way too casual about drunk driving, these parents are WAAAY too chill (I know this can be said about many teen dramas but it's the most obvious here. How did the Roberts and the Coopers let two 16-year-old girls go to Mexico alone?? With no supervision?? What?)
Otps: Seth x Summer, Ryan x Marissa
Notp: Luke x Marissa
Best moments: the “oh no, there’s only one bed” in the Mexico episode, Seth and Summer's first kiss and that kiss at the yacht, Ryan and Marissa's first date by the pool
Weirdest moment: these parents letting their teenage kids go to Mexico alone. It's irresponsible when they're 16 but apparently they let them go there and party every year. What?
Gossip Girl
+ every episode having a clever title, the style, the makeup, the 00s soundtrack, the glamour of it all (it feels like reading a very gossipy magazine!), all the scandals, this show never pretends to portray the realitic teenage experience so it can pretty much be as far-fetched as it wants to and you can’t question it, it gives you a chance to live the fantasy of being super rich, living with a penthouse, riding a limo to school and going to parties in New York City every night
- the final reveal doesn't make any sense, just like with PLL these writers seemed to have put more thought into the outfits and makeup than into the plotlines, romantization of a toxic relationship, having every two straight characters date or hook up at some point, which just felt forced, mishandling of serious issues (Blair's eating disorder, Eric's suicide attempt and Serena and Jenny's sexual assault from the pilot being brought up when it's convenient but not really dealt with and brushed off at other times), sexualization of teen characters
Otps: Dan x Blair, Serena x Nate
Notps: Chuck x Blair
Best moments: the Thanksgiving flashbacks, Blair and Serena running around New York and taking selfies in stolen dresses, Nate and Serena’s first time (although it was better in the books) and then their kiss at the white party, the sheer scandal of "I killed someone", Dan giving Blair a plastic tiara to make her feel like a princess
Weirdest moments: Chuck's father returning from the death and then dying again, by yeeting himself off the roof
Freaks and Geeks
+ probably the most realistic teen drama there is, the characters dress the way I can see actual teens dressing, funny, but also heatbreaking at times, probably the only teen show that included an intersex character, the characters being a little stereotypical but self-aware at least, young James Franco and Jason Segel
- the bullying being a bit too much at times and it's a bit unrealistic that the teachers would do literally nothing about it, too short- I will never understand why this got cancelled
Otps: Daniel x Kim, Lindsay x Nick, Amy x Ken
Notps: Sam x Cindy
Best moments: Sam breaking down at the end of Garage Door, Daniel and Kim getting back together in the rain
Weirdest moment: Cindy doing a 180 and becoming super mean when she started dating Sam.
Gilmore Girls
+ so many movie, literary and music references, the quotable lines (what a great way to learn about new movies, books and bands! It’s so unique for a TV show to make you smarter), the witty banter, the comfort of the first few seasons (it really feels like wrapping a warm blanket around yourself while holding a hot cup of coffee, I can’t explain why, but it’s such a comfort show), the quirky small town with many unique festivals, many entertaining and snappy fights where everyone has a point, characters dealing with real world problems (seriously, how often do you see a storyline about termites? Or a teenager with zit cream on a teen drama show?), this is also one of the few shows where teenagers are shown to have rules and restrictions and curfews (finally some kids growing up with strict parents representation) and doing homework and studying and not just partying and drinking and having sex all the time and that’s so refreshing
- but while it is refreshing to see teenagers waiting to have sex and not doing it behind every corner, the show is kind of sex negative. Every single time a (female) character loses her virginity it ends in a disaster. Even when she loses it after she’s married! It doesn’t make any sense, unless the writers just really hated women. Also slutshaming (”I got the good kid!”) ewww. The money and budget doesn’t make much sense on the show either and the girls seem immune to calories. I know some people might come at me for this with: “But it’s just a show!” but I think it’s harmful to show beautiful, thin women eat nothing but tons of junkfood all the time and never excersize and then fatshame people who do excersize but aren’t fortunate enough to be blessed with amazing Gilmore genes, and then throw around tactless references to eating disorders.
Otps: Lane x Dave, Jess x Rory
Notps: Lane x Zach, Rory x Dean, Lorelai x Christopher
Best moments: Then She Appeared, Rory’s valedictorian speech, Lorelai’s graduation
Weirdest moment: Lorelai and Christopher getting married in Paris at 4am. That’s not how it works in Europe. Do Americans think every single Europian country works like Las Vegas, where you can just get married whenever you decide??

I saw @clarkgriffon do this and I don’t care if I wasn’t tagged. Imma do it anyway.
my shows:
1. The 100
2. One Tree Hill
3. Friday Night Lights
4. Salvation
5. How to Get Away with Murder
questions:
1. who is your favorite character in 2?
— Probably Peyton. But honestly, I love all of the five main characters almost equally.
2. who is your least favorite character in 1?
— Ash. I don’t think I’ve ever despised a character as much as her. She has no purpose and is just whatever the writers need her to be in the moment.
3. what is your favorite episode of 4?
— I don’t really remember specific episodes, but the last episode of S1 was really good. Also the episode when Grace and Darius were in Russia was fun to watch.
4. what is your favorite season of 5?
— S1. They set up a murder in the pilot, and just the way they wove the story together with the flash-forwards up to the night of the murder was so well done. I still watch the pilot from time to time because it’s that good.
5. who is your favorite couple in 3?
— Eric and Tami Taylor! They’re one of the best, healthiest, most realistic relationships I’ve ever seen on tv.
6. who is your favorite couple in 2?
— Probably Leyton, but Naley is a verrrry close second.
7. what is your favorite episode in 1?
— Day Trip. Day Trip. Day Trip. Did I say Day Trip?
8. what is your favorite episode of 5?
— Surprisingly, I think it’s the pilot. Either that or the winter finale episode of S1 when we find out who killed Sam. Those two episodes went hand in hand.
9. what is your favorite season of 2?
— There’s honestly nothing better than S1, with the drama between Lucas and Nathan, the start of Naley, the Leyton tension, Brooke being Brooke. Although, I did love 3, 4, 6, and 9 as well.
10. how long have you watched 1?
— I got into it a week after S2 ended, which ended up being the WORST time due to the ship wars between BCs and CLs and the fact that they pushed it back to midseason. But some of the fanfic that came out during that time was *chef’s kiss*
11. how did you become interested in 3?
— It was a show about football set in Texas. I didn’t choose FNL. FNL chose me.
12. who is your favorite actor in 4?
— Jennifer Finnigan! I loved her as Grace.
13. which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
—It’s like asking me which of my children I like best. I can’t decide because they’re all such different shows and I like them for different reasons.
14. which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
— The 100, just because it has more seasons and episodes than FNL
15. if you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
— I really liked Grace the best, so probably her.
16. would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
— It probably could. Maybe the asteroid was targeted to hit Dillon, Texas, so Grace and Darius were sent there to warn Coach Taylor and co. and get them into action.
17. pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple
— After S3, I was pulling for Raven and Jasper, and I’m still sad that they basically dropped their entire friendship in S4.
18. overall, which story has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
— FNL. There’s only one storyline I didn’t care for, which is rare for a tv show.
19. which has the better theme music, 2 or 4?
—No question, One Tree Hill. They had some of the best music I’ve ever heard in a tv show, plus I’m not sure if Salvation even had theme music.
Tagging @goddess-clarke @semirama @dbundles42 @morley-taylor @grumpybell @nightbleeder and honestly anyone who wants to do it like I did haha

The tv meme with OTH.
Favorite male character: Nathan Scott owns me.
Favorite female character: I mean … obviously Brooke Davis is that even a question. I also really loved Rachel.
Least favorite character: LOL this is probably an unpopular opinion but Karen. Like I get she was sweet and all but she had absolutely no substance and development. Deb outsold.
Prettiest character: Brooke Davis because Sophia Bush is GORGEOUS.
Funniest character: Brooke, but also Rachel is funny as fuck. Jamie: “Nice to meet you Grandma Rachel.” Rachel: “Awe, I remember when you were a rumor in third period.” FUCSKALJFF BITCH. Chris Keller was also funny.
Favorite season: Seasons 3 and 4. I feel like the epitome of One Tree Hill were all packed in those seasons.
Favorite episode: The school shooting episode is unmatched. Naley and Brulian weddings.  Pictures Of You. That episode in Season 4 where Haley gets hit by a car and Lucas has a heart attack on the scene like SO DRAMATIC but I love it. Jamie’s birth and their graduation from high school. The episode where Brooke almost dies while trying to save Jamie. So many to choose from.
Favorite romantic ship: Nathan & Haley always and forever HOES. I feel like Nathan & Brooke should’ve been a thing at least for a little. I loved Brooke & Lucas too but “loved” as in past tense before he cheated on her for a SECOND MFING TIME. Some days I like Leyton and some days I don’t, it’s dicey. Brooke & Julian.
Favorite family ship: Nathan & Lucas, Haley & Quinn, Haley & Taylor.
Favorite friend ship: Brooke & Peyton, Brooke & Rachel, Brooke & Haley, Haley & Lucas, Nathan & Brooke, Skills & Lucas, Mouth & Brooke, Mouth & Rachel.
Worst ship: Rachel & Dan, Karen & Dan, Peyton & Nathan, Brooke & Felix.

I have so many thoughts in my head tonight that I feel that this will be a hard one to get down in writing cohesively.
I'm rewatching a Season 4 Naley scene and am reminded of a comment I saw on Tik Tok of someone who said that Nathan led Rachel on in season 4. That take is bullshit honestly. Nathan was suicidal and kind of had a one track mind about the accident. Nathan was only interested in Rachel to find out what she may know about the accident. The truth of the matter is that Rachel knew that. Rachel knew why Nathan was hanging out with her as much as he did (which I wouldn't say was an inordinate amount of time). When they go to the after game party in 4x03 Nathan has that conversation with Rachel where he gets a bit too close to her. From a director point of view they wanted to do that so that Haley could see them and be jealous but also Nathan is so unaware of his surroundings most of the time. He's just kind of in his own head and is very depressed at that time. So it's not a romantic thing or an attraction thing or really anything. He talks to Rachel trying to figure out if she saw anything during the accident and Rachel can tell that he's obsessed with something but is not quite sure what. The scene after that Nathan is talking to Peyton and he is talking about how he thought he saw Keith under the water. They make a point of showing Rachel spying in on this conversation/taking note of it. Then in the next episode Rachel lies as an excuse to get him alone and says to Nathan that she did see Keith under the water. This is manipulative behavior. It's also incredibly insensitive to use/bait this poor dude who depressed and lost his Uncle Keith. But also that's on Rachel. Nathan did not lead her on. She knew precisely why he was hanging around her and she knew that he was in love with his wife. BTW she knew he was married and tried to steal him. I hate that bitch and there are seriously some people who are so obsessed with her that will trash Haley for rightfully being upset with her and will try and make Nathan out to be a manipulative dude when he's just a suicidal and depressed guy who isn't completely aware of how obsessed and manipulative Rachel is. The scene where Haley bitch slaps Rachel... people will seriously act like Haley's the devil for doing that... I mean those people do realize that Rachel got her fired, body shamed her (called her fat and said she had a little head), sort of ruined her wedding by making a huge scene and making it about herself and then almost immediately after causes a car accident that nearly killed Nathan/one of his only remaining uncles on his wedding day, and tried to steal her husband right? It's unbelievable the Rachel blinders some people have.
BTW. She forced on a kiss on him even before the party. All he had done was save her and his Uncle Cooper from death and she forced a kiss on him. Rachel does not need to be led on to be a crazy bitch!! I'm sorry but screw Rachel. I have no patience for anyone who make a game out of trying to steal people from their significant others. And I have no patience for people who sexually assault others. Rachel only backed off when she found out that Haley was pregnant. That makes me so pissed off. So this dude is fair game when he's married but he's gonna be a father then she tries to act like she has a shred of morals. I love the line that Nathan says to Rachel
RACHEL: Nathan. If Haley wasn’t pregnant … did I have a shot?
NATHAN: Not for a second
The way he says it is the best part. With 0 hesitation and with all the conviction in the world lmao. Like seriously? She was so delusional that she thought the only reason he was remaining with Haley was cause she was pregnant?! BITCH this man is obsessed with his wife so stay in your fucking lane!!
-
Speaking of above board I love this conversation between Nathan and Haley in 4x03. I love how honest Nathan is and completely sincere and above board. He's not playing games. Nathan is so in his own head and depressed he really didn't understand how Haley's been internalizing his emotional distance. So in this moment when Haley is honest with him and tells him her feelings you can see the surprise in his reaction. He doesn't hesitate to make her feel better in the most honest and sincere way and it makes me so happy. To feel both of their relief. Nathan is relieved cause he got this off his chest and Haley is relieved because he opened up to her. The relief is palpable in the way James and Joy play this scene...
HALEY: You keep going to that bridge. I never thought I’d be jealous of a river
NATHAN: You know how much I like the water
HALEY: I’m really trying not to be jealous and I want to be understanding but, uh it’s really hard with you sneaking around
NATHAN: I’m sorry
HALEY: I don’t want you to be sorry, I want you to let me in … whatever it is, you know? … even if it has suh--something with Rachel … even if you like her. I just want you to tell me
NATHAN: Do you think I like Rachel? Haley, I was just, I was just talking to her about the accident
NATHAN: I just wanted to know if she saw him, too
HALEY: Saw who?
NATHAN: Keith. I think he’s the one that pulled me out of that car. I’m nobody’s hero
HALEY: Why didn’t you tell me?
NATHAN: Because I thought it would go away--I thought basketball would fix it, but it didn’t
HALEY: Nathan, your problems are my problems … I want us to figure this out together… and you’re wrong. You’re my hero
NATHAN: So you don’t think I’m crazy?
HALEY: No, I do not think you’re crazy
HALEY: … You think I’m fat?
NATHAN: What?! … Of course not
HALEY: Do I have a little head?
NATHAN: No … I love your head. Come here
(Nathan kisses Haley on the forehead and she smiles)
HALEY: … So that’s why you keep going down to that bridge?
NATHAN: For that and …
(NATHAN reaches into his pocket and pulls out the cracker jack bracelet he gave her in season 1)
NATHAN: … this. I love you, Haley
HALEY: I love you, too, Nathan Scott

(overly?) optimistic thoughts about bughead being riverdale’s naley
i see people saying it’s literally impossible for the CW to keep Bughead together for the whole show bc the CW never does that and needs romantic drama to keep the story going.
but personally, im just holding out hope that Bughead will be the Naley (Nathan/Haley on One Tree Hill) of Riverdale. One Tree Hill ran for LITERALLY NINE SEASONS and Naley were romantically entangled with one another almost. the. entire. time. (besides the first few episodes of season 1 when nathan was dating peyton, which quickly ended.) yes, they had a couple shorter break ups (including small infidelities akin to the Jug/Toni thing) and definitely had drama/bumps in the road throughout the show, but they were each other’s primary love interest for all nine seasons. and were considered the epic, perfect-for-each-other ship on the show. considering Bughead got together so early but have already proven to be an epic, popular ship, I could see them going down this road with Bughead, with them being not only endgame but a ship that is each other’s primary love interest throughout the show.
meanwhile, continuing with the One Tree Hill comparison, i could see Varchie potentially being more like Leyton (Lucas/Peyton on One Tree Hill), which ended up being endgame but was on/off throughout the six seasons the two characters were on the show, with both characters having other partners at times and eventually coming back together at the end. I feel like Varchie isn’t nearly as popular as Bughead (unless this is just my bias bc i see so much bughead validation on my dash lol) so if they are indeed gonna have Varchie/Bughead be endgame, i could see Varchie being the one they split up for longer periods of time and having date others before eventually coming back together.
im just saying, it’s been done on the CW before. considering how popular Bughead is, how amazing their chemistry is, the fact that b*rchie would blow up the core four, and the fact that romantic drama could be provided by the rest of the GIANT ensemble cast, i really hope this is the road they go down.
of course, anything could happen on riverdale and im also probably being selectively optimistic about the couple i love lol so i fully acknowledge a heartbreaking Bughead break-up could come at some point during the series, but, again, just saying...IT’S BEEN DONE BEFORE. so don’t give up hope on that point alone.

Always and Forever
Title: Always and Forever
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Word Count: 854
Warnings: FLUFF, One Tree Hill
Summary: Dean has a small birthday surprise for the reader.
A/N: The other day, I asked my dear best friend to chose between Dean and Jensen and she responded with Dean by like a tiny itty bitty amount. This fic is for my best friend’s 21st birthday! Happy Birthday @winchestdiaries! I love you B.Davis! <3
Tumblr media
x
You began to stir, your body waking comfortably for the first time in what felt like forever. Your body felt well rested, of course a little sore from hunt after hunt. It was finally time to rest, relax and finally catch up on the increasingly long list of tv shows you had listed on netflix.
You rolled over, expecting to bump into a warm, half naked body beside you, only to find it was empty. Your eyes opened widely, searching the room in hopes to find the man you were looking for.
Dean Winchester was nowhere to be found. Very unusual.
Dean Winchester was your best friend and your boyfriend all in one. After meeting on a witch hunt and helping the boys kill the woman to save Sam from becoming paralyzed, you grabbed a few beers and the two of you just clicked. Some flirty banter, a bit of whiskey, and a lot less clothes later, here you were. The man was all yours and you couldn’t help the smile that spread across your cheeks everything you thought of the man. He was the best part of you.
You slipped out of the bed you shared with him, your cold feet hitting the concrete floor as you moved to grab one of his flannel shirts off the chair by his desk. The material still smelled exactly like him, even after being through the wash. It swam on you, hanging off your body almost perfect as Dean would describe it.
The bunker was silent as you stepped out of the room. No sign of either of them as you made your way towards the library. Sam had to be awake, since he was up at the ass crack of dawn every single day.
The library was empty, but the smell of apples and cinnamon filled your nose. Someone was definitely in the kitchen, cooking up something delicious. You smiled as you made your way into the kitchen. You didn’t know what to expect, but it certainly wasn’t this.
Dean Winchester was standing in the middle of the kitchen with an apron covering his chest, oven mitts on his hands. He had a bit of flour on his cheeks and a bit.
“Mornin’ handsome, whatcha doin’?” you questioned with a smile spread wide across your cheeks.
“I was going to surprise my beautiful girlfriend with breakfast in bed, but since she’s awake,” he grinned, placing the oven mitts on the counter before making his way over to you. His hands cupped your cheeks, pulling you up slightly to meet him halfway in a kiss. “Good morning, gorgeous. Happy birthday!”
“Yeah, yeah. It’s just another day of the year, Dean,” you chuckled.
“Just another day my ass,” he scoffed. “This is your special day. This is the day you were born and if that never happened, I wouldn’t have you standing here with me.”
“I guess that is one good thing.”
“I promise, there is nothing big because I know you don’t want that. But, since it’s your birthday and I love you, I made you a homemade, Dean Winchester apple pie and I have cinnamon to go on top. Your favourite and you get it for breakfast, sweetheart,” he told you. Your heart fluttered in your chest. He remembered your favourite pie and made it for you on your birthday.
 “Dean.”
“Sam wants to do a dinner for you tonight, but I’m yours for the day. We will do whatever you want to do!” he added in. “But I did get you a little present.”
“You didn’t have to do that. I have you and that’s all I need.” Dean walked over to the counter and opened the cupboard door, pulling out a medium sized box from underneath it.
“You will always have me,” he let out a laugh. “But I know you’ve been wanting these for awhile and I saw them. Just here, open it.”
You furrowed your brows as Dean handed you the box with a pretty green bow on the top. You carefully ripped the paper off the box, only to find that he had bought you the entire series box set of One Tree Hill. You had mentioned it to him once,  a long, long time ago. You never thought he would have remembered that, let alone the name of the tv show.
You placed it on the table before jumping on him, wrapping your arms around his neck, crashing your lips to his, almost recreating the first Naley kiss, you thought. Dean was going to regret buying you the box set by the end of the day with the amount of episodes you planned on watching.
“You are the best boyfriend in the world, you know that?” you beamed, pecking his lips once more. You couldn’t contain just how excited you were. It was the best birthday yet. “Thank you so much for this, Dean.”
“I just want you to have something normal in your life, and I know how much you love the show,” he shrugged.
 “I love you.”
 “I love you, too sweetheart.”
 “Always,” you whispered.
 “And forever.”

I'm so excited WA is getting married right before the mid season finale. That means we'll have most of s4 and many more seasons to come of them as a married couple! My biggest pet peeves about my other ships is them getting married in series finales lol. Like no, I wanna see my otp as a married couple for more than one episode! WA keeps going against the norm w/ how endgame couples are usually written (will they/won't they & contrived drama) and I think thats why critics (and fans) love it!
I agree!! Though to be fair, even Candice referred to them as a will they/won't they relationship for the first two seasons. I've seen that w/ other fav ships of mine too. My second biggest ship (of all time, lol) had that s1-2 will they/won't they, then they were together for almost a full season & then they went back to their previous status for almost the whole rest of the series. The proposal, wedding & a five minute flash forward into their married (w/ kid!) life happened all in the series finale. So yeah, I like how they're breaking the mold that way. Reminds me of Naley on OTH. ❤️ And while the 315-316 WA drama can be argued as contrived, for the most part they're really solid & I love it. I agree it's what makes them so likable. They have insane chem, a great story, & their arc doesn't deteriorate over time. Like...bless.

I'm still not over what the writers did to WA. I know some wanted that angst and I wonder how the feel after last episode? Tbh I didn't see this coming. I thought the writers would at least protect WA from the unnecessary drama. I guess i played myself? I read on my TL that the main couple on OTH was together with child for 9 seasons? Wow! so writers can write healthy relationships for many seasons? who would have thought? I'm back on NOT trusting the writers of the Flash for sure now 👍
I mean, it’s a TV show though (on the CW no less), there was no way WA would stay happy the whole season. And like I said, I’d rather have this angst than anything involving an annoying 3rd person. Also, in no way does their issue right now call into question their love/feelings for each other and that is why I’m mostly okay and not worried.
As for Naley (the OTH couple), they broke up and had multiple fights/separations throughout those 9 seasons though. They got together in S1, then a 3rd party got involved in S2, she left him to pursue her music career with said person. In S3 they rekindled their RL but it took several episodes. S4 had the pregnancy SL + Haley almost dying because of Nathan’s involvement in shady stuff. S5 was rough as well  etc….
(Also their 1st child was born in S5)
My point is, it wasn’t all sunshine & rainbows for 9 seasons just like it won’t be for WA.
