Oh god I feel the exact same way. Strange has his head firmly inserted in his ass in regards to that he is disabled and it rubs me the wrong way. Like he thinks that he can't be himself if he isn't abled. Dude I get the gifted kid gotta-be-perfect attitude but when you crash and burn because you can't do what you used to, you have to find your resilience and refocus your pride or you're gonna spend your whole life wishing for a life that you couldn't possibly have.

Yeah I think that's definitely part of it. Stark's change from pre-kidnapping to post-kidnapping I feel was a mix of PTSD (even tho the movies don't ever call it that except to mock him pbbbbbt), him becoming physically disabled with a lifethreatening heart condition, and him accepting that this happening was absolutely at least partially his fault. In some deleted scenes from the first IM we see him struggle a bit with the fact that yeah now there's a giant piece of metal in his chest and he will Literally Die if the device gives out, it's even used against him in the final cut of the movie for plot. He panics when he first wakes up and finds it and his first action is to modify it to be more practical (after he's done grieving his past life and recoups from the torture, somewhat spurred on by Yinsen since he was doomspiralling a bit). He doesn't have it anymore by the time we get to CW but the way the scene is framed with Bucky driving the shield into his chestpiece is still meant to be shocking because the audience is used to that equalling certain death.

On the other hand Strange spends the majority of his intro movie spiralling so far out of control that he feels the need to travel to a different country to learn magic because he's convinced they'll heal him. And when he's even told by them, you are too egotistical and also we're not healing you like that, he still doesn't change. He spends his movie chasing away those close to him and having a tantrum that his hands shake and I get it! I do! I spent several months grappling with the frustration of having accidentally thrown something precious to me on the floor and it broke because I can't control my own hand tremors.

But even when he does learn magic it's because he had to be shown someone doing it who didn't even have hands, and then when he becomes proficient he doesn't change his outlook at all. He was a jerk going into this and his newfound disability, like Stark, is at least partially his fault. Instead of learning from that and growing as a person he just cannot accept that this is his life now and maybe he should be less of a prideful jerk and then he won't do stupid things like drive while looking at case files or entirely break the universe because he thought he had a handle on things 🤷‍♂️

Stark had his laundry list of character flaws but he still learned and grew as a person, the flaws made sense- I understand where he's coming from when he funds Shield's pre-terrorist AI assassin network. When he builds Ultron. When he signs the Accords. I think these are wrong actions but I understand his mindset. I get why he genuinely tries to kill Bucky. I don't think I could forgive my parents' killer easily either and certainly not if I've been hung up over their deaths for 30 years. Logically in Bucky's case it's not his fault, but since when are grief and trauma and emotion affected by logic?

But I don't feel like Strange has grown at all. He was an egotistical unlikeable jerk with some scathing one-liners before and he's still an egotistical unlikeable jerk with some scathing one-liners. Where is the charm, the charisma? Where is the 'okay yes he's kind of a dick BUT LOOK he's also nice to kids/puppies/his girlfriend'? Stark was always kind of an abrasive asshole but with enough charm and charisma and some genuine niceness peeking through that (general) you kind of forgave him for it. That's absent for Strange, so he's just not as likeable or fun to watch and thus I find myself uninterested in his entire contribution to these movies. Yeah he's kind of taken in a kid or two at this point- he's helped out Peter and now America- and maybe we'll see some of that start to change him. But as he is right now I just find him uninspiring and annoying to watch. He wasn't nice to anyone in his intro movie, he wasn't nice to anyone in Thor 3, he wasn't nice to anyone in Infinity War/Endgame... he was okay to Peter in NWH and nice enough I guess to America in this new movie but... I feel like it's not enough.

not 2 be a clown but i really Do in my heart of hearts believe that destiel was supposed to go canon more explicitly with, if not full reciprocation from dean, then at least very obvious subtextual reciprocation. and that’s why everything is so messy in the last two eps. like i think about LAMP and that whole dance sequence and the subtext was THERE. dean’s aborted confession in the trap. dean questioning what’s real and the answer being ‘we are.’ it was all THERE and building. the confession, as much as we love it, was choppy as FUCK. it was badly edited, the shots are all over the place, extreme close-ups jumping to wide shots. the goddamn shove to the wrong wall. not good cinematography. and we know a lot of dean’s reactions were cut. we pretty much figured out the ‘don’t do this cas’ was supposed to come before the ‘i love you.’ we know cas was supposed to be in the last two eps. we Know he was meant to be in the finale. and i have Never bought the “jimmy” explanation for that either. i’m sorry but that does not make sense at all and it’s 100% in my opinion a lie they told to keep fans from being even more enraged abt cas being cut from the finale. like if he was never meant to actually be there then ok fine, sucks but ok. but if cas WAS meant to be there and they CUT HIM ??? 1.) Charlie was a surprisingly good character considering she was a lesbian in a famously misogynistic & homophobic show (any woman from Supernatural could be a strong contender in this tournament). She was basically Dean's bestie, made out with a fairy, had an adventure with a grown-up Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, and saved the guys' asses in every episode she appeared in. Even when she appeared as a corpse. Yeah, she got randomly killed off-screen for shock value and manpain, but she sent an email right before she died so at least her death wasn't in vain, right? According to the wiki she later got replaced by an alternate reality version of herself but this was after I stopped watching Supernatural so idk how they treated her after that lmao

2.) She was a lesbian and a very beloved character and they murdered her brutally for no reason! Well, one reason, shock value. Boooooo!!!

3.) Literally she was such a strong supporting character and they just. Fucking killed her off for no goddamned reason. Like fuck you

Eileen Leahy

1.) She was a badass deaf hunter who all of the fans loved and they killed her off (also she's Irish and the people who killed her are British but that's a whole other issue). Then they brought her back and Eileen finally got to have her cute romance with Sam which all of the fans also loved and then she died when the rest of the world got killed by God (long story). But then everyone got brought back to life (including her) but she NEVER SHOWED UP AGAIN. And Sam got married and had a kid but NOT WITH HER. And they never mentioned her again. JUSTICE FOR MY QUEEN EILEEN LEAHY SHE DESERVED BETTER.

2.) She was the love interest to Sam in the last season and in the last few episodes she was removed off the planet along with alot of other people. When that problem was fixed she is litteraly never brought up again. In the last episode Sam gets a wife but we never see her, she could be Eileen but we have no idea. They basically kill her off in mass event and then when they bring everyone back they somehow never mention her again. How is there not a reunion between her and Sam and the others? She was their friend! At least Cas gets a mention! She doesn't get one at all!

Listen I love DCxDP crossovers as much as the next person, but every time I see people write John Constantine offer as a solution summoning something I cringe internally a little bit. John is all up for self-sacrificing and doing things you shouldn't but he does not fuck with other creatures he knows shit-all about.

On the other end, do you know who does fuck with creatures they know shit all about?? And keep summoning things and making deals with things they shouldn't be summoning or making deals with? And also doing this most of the times with the express intentions of dealing with the dead?

Ok now I'm actually thinking about it.

You can even make it adult Danny by simply following the Supernatural timeline. Danny gets his powers in 2004, when he's 14, the Winchesters start looking for their dad in 2005, and they're... 20 something. Castiel joins the brigade in 2009 (I thought he showed up in season 5 lmao it's been a while since I've watched it), Chuck starts writing the books- fuck I don't know. 2012? Was it season 7? **Looks it up** fuck nope he starts writing when they start, that's my mistake. I meant when does he show up. And that's together with Castiel. Wow. Give me Danny who is an in universe Supernatural fan. He's the prime target audience! Starts reading after he gets his powers because we'll they're ghost hunters but the ghosts are actually evil. So it's fine. And they're fictional anyway so no big deal.

But then Chuck stops writing (end of season 5) and Danny is extremely disappointed.

He doesn't learn the truth until 2018 (season 13) when Jack wakes up The Shadow and consequently shakes the Infinite Realms. Nocturne has to be somehow connected. Maybe they're not The Shadow themself, but a subordinate? Like Frostbite is the leader while the yetis are his citizens. And The Empty is the realm they live in.

Now Danny is slightly terrified because it means all the things that go bump in the night are real. Which is a scary as fuck thought. And also wonders why they've never had hunters in Amity, or why he and the other ghosts are different from the ones in the books.

But he can't really do anything. To help.

Hunters definitely have checked out the town. There's no way they'd fly under the radar. But either there are already hunters INSIDE Amity And they've staked their claim on the town, no outside hunters allowed. Or there's something wrong w the entire place that makes it so that people don't really realize anything is wrong with it. I til they're inside it. But when outside nothing :/ all normal.

I feel like it wouldn't be Dean who summons him though. As much as I love him, they are aware that pretty much only God could pull out Cas and Jack wasn't going to do it any time soon.

But Dean dying like that? No Sam is not going to let his story end like that. But they've pretty much exhausted all options. What's he gonna do? Make another deal w a demon that's going to ultimately make more of a mess? Who's gonna make a deal w a Winchester anyway?

I don't know how Sam would find a way to contact Danny. The Fentons were the first to make contact with the Zone, so the bunker's unlikely to have any resources. Bobby's gone, so that's a bust. He'd have to find something new. Something no other hunter has interacted with, ever.

Again.

Because let's be real. The Winchesters already did that plenty.

Maybe he stumbles upon Amity by accident and sees it as an opportunity, idk.

Sam's kinda more willing to give monsters the benefit of the doubt. They know angels are not all bad, they had werewolf friends, and so on and so forth.

So sure he might start off listening to the Fentons at first, but if he were to interact with Danny (as Phantom ofc) one on one he'd probably see that they're wrong.

Danny would freak out of course. On one hand, fuck man. He's a fan. That's so cool.

On the other, he knows nothing will stop the Winchesters. He's deader than dead if Sam was there to hunt him.

But alas, he'd do anything to help him get his brother (and Cas, as a treat) back. Who's gonna stop him? God? Jack? Idk man I feel like he'd let them have this one lmao. Or still Danny could definitely argue that he's the king of all afterlives, so what he does to his subjects is none of his business (since God (or at least Chuck couldn't) can't interfere w The Empty, only the afterlives he controls. So heaven and hell. Not even purgatory iirc)

I once saw a post headcanon that the spn finale was all just deans heaven, not sams. It was what dean wanted for sam, we don't even know if it was what sam wanted anymore. It would explain why we never got a clear picture of the wife or even saw her again after the blurry scene of her, dean would have only cared about sam and any children that came from him. In reality, maybe sam lead a very different life after deans death, and maybe that really was him on the heaven bridge to meet dean, or maybe it was just a projection of him that deans heaven conjured up

I do like this better than canon’s frankly very superficial and romanticized ending bc right, sam having a perfect “apple-pie life” with a perfect american wife and a perfect american kid he named after his dead brother is very much Dean Winchester Fantasy that of course could have never come to pass while he was alive - dean needed to die for that to happen, but it just… it simply couldn’t have been as rose-tinted as that montage made it seem, after everything sam had been through by the time dean died. early s8 was the last time sam tried fighting for a way out of the hunter life and he got punished for it over and over again. late-seasons sam is all “I realized how wrong I was every time I Ran Away” and “this life is Right for me but I can’t do it without my brother” - he stays tethered to it for dean and dean alone. once dean is dead for good (ultimately of his own volition might I add - it’s not even a question whether sam will try bringing him back against his will bc that treatment is reserved for sam whose body belongs to dean as long as he’s alive) it suddenly becomes acceptable for sam to live for himself as opposed to for their Heroic Mission.

ough the idea that the sam joining dean in heaven was just a mirage of him….. delicious. bc dean is happiest when sam fits neatly into the Baby Brother skin he mostly outgrew ages ago anyway!!!! however I also like the idea of actual sam joining him there but really not fitting into the whole bizarre tableau (john and mary are there too Jesus Christ) and reacting so badly that jack and/or cas have to step in. like, heaven is rejecting him bc he’s a foreign object type beat (cue sam’s old religious guilt)

There was a man staring at you.

Even through the foggy multicolored club you could feel his eyes, and when you find him you’re surprised that he ca see you through the deep, dark black glasses on his face. Slicked back blond hair, a deliciously sharp jaw and nose, and a smile that has you melting into the bar all fill your vision as you stare right back at him, seeing if he’d look away. Usually once you looked at your admirers, they acted like they’d been caught with their hand in the cookie jar and turn away, but not him.

He smiled again, tipping his head in an elegant nod, and you swallow thickly. He was interested, not even put off by the stare you fix him with. Hell, he seems even more interested as you continue to look in his direction. His gaze leaves when a little twink sidles up next to him and coos sweetness in his ear.

You have to fight the jealousy that runs through your blood, hot green replacing the normal red.

The feeling abates when you turn back to the bar and get a shot of something swet and fruity. It slides easy down your throat and warms you right up, just the way you like it. The feeling of your buzz settling in takes your attention, and the fuzziness of the room fogs your brain almost as much as the club. You almost miss the feeling of the man’s gaze on you, but a bitter reminder of the twink next to him has the sugary film on your tongue turn lemon sour.

“You mind if I get you a drink, handsome?”

The voice over your shoulder is deep and full of sin, curved in the vowels like any good Southern boy’s drawl, and it adds to the buzz under your skin. Your eyes meet themselves in the shine of his black glasses and your heart hammers when you recognize your admirer. The boy that had been glued to his side has vanished and one big hand rests on your lower back, his pinkie finger resting on your tailbone while the pointer flirts with the bottom curve of your rib cage. The thought of those fingers doing more than just resting on your back makes your head spin especially when he uses them to gently move you to the side so he can fit in between you and the bar.

“Saw you staring,” you manage to get out, tongue heavy from the alcohol and his closeness. Gods, he smells like a dream, all spicy and musky. He chuckles deep in his chest and it reminds you of dark chocolate.

“How could I not? Prettiest thing in this place is right here,” he purrs, smiling when you flush and reach out a hand to take the shot of vodka from him. It’s harsher than your sweet drink from before but helps you loosen up enough that you lean into him. Your forearm presses against his hip under his suit jacket and his hand is still on your lower back, but it’s slid to cup your hip as well.

Somehow, after another round of shots, you find yourself on the dancefloor, rolling your hips and holding your arms high in the air. The man, Corinthian he had whispered in your ear before he pulled you into the swarm of bodies, keeps you close against him. His lips are soft against your neck, one hand sliding up your chest. It rucks up your shirt but you don’t care if people see the scars on your chest before the fabric falls back down. The song’s climax builds as Corinthian’s hand finds the expanse of your neck, his fingers pressing soft against your thundering pulse. You tip your head back and he presses a kiss to your mouth.

His tongue flirts against your mouth, fingers adding pressure slowly until you open your mouth and let him taste the vodka on your tongue. He grunts softly when you roll your hips back into his, pulling away to growl in your ear, “We should go somewhere.”

Even though your head is spinning and you’re giggly, you nod and let him lead you to the exit, guiding you by the back of your neck like a stray kitten.

unfortunately my situation is a bit too complicated to simply cut this man off. he unwillingly became a part of my life due to his marriage to my mother, and though i'm an adult and have been living on my own for ages, if i cut him off i by extension cut my mother off and then loose access to my youngest brother, and i refuse to leave him in that house without support after everything he's done. i doubt he could hurt anyone anymore due to the cancer and everything but people have underestimated him before and that led to a bloody time in a bar so (: don't wanna risk it with my kid brother.

even then i'd still have to maintain a professional relationship with him because of the fact that he is sick he often comes into the clinic i work at. and due to the short staffing, me being the only ca and everything, it's not like i can have someone else work with him when he comes in. it's much easier and safer for everyone to just play the fawn until my brother is grown and is able to leave the house, or that man dies whichever comes first.

Roach is back and they give him a bunch of talking lines, removing any hope of a canon non-verbal character.

If Farah and Alex are back and seen together, they either make any chemistry between them nil or somehow work into the plot that Farah isnt/is no longer Muslim (I hate this idea but it's what I think they'd do if they put them in a relationship).

Laswell's wife is literally never mentioned again.
