Okay. I'm finished. Finally.

I have thoughts. Many.

First, holy shit it's a heckin good time to love Wesper.

And they've clearly set it up for the ice court heist. But, they've fucked up parts. Theyve fucked up the Wesper slowburn, the 'not just girls' scene (which is probably why Kit and Jack did it in the interview). Also kinda fucked up the Kanej slowburn but not as badly. Kinda fucked up the Jesper is a durast thing, but it'll be interesting to see the heist with a Jesper that is proud of his powers and knows how to use them. Interestingly they've still got the Helnik part of the plot pretty much on track.

They've fucked up hopes for Crooked Kingdom. They could still do it sort of. But Rollins position has changed, Inejs position has changed, and they've already used up like half the book.

Tho noticeably they did not say a thing about Wylans family. That is still completely under wraps. And that'll be very interesting to see on screen.

They've also fucked up any hope for King of Scars. Sure they've got the Nikolai part, but my hope for KoS died with David.

All in all, I know a lot of people probably aren't gonna like the last episode and how a lot of different things ended. And I definitely understand that. But more importantly we all want to see the Ice Court heist. So we need to ignore our feelings about how this season ended and stream this season as many times as we can this month to make sure we get the Ice Court heist.

We need to see Matthias and Nina's story play out.

With the changes we might actually eventually get to a healthy Kanej relationship (as healthy as it can be anyway

With the changes it'll mean we get to see many many amazing scenes of Jesper and Wylan, being absolutely adorable and also being absolute badasses and so incredibly proud of each other.

And we might even get to see Zoya and Nikolai.

Anyways, Seijoh had been thinking of getting a manager since FINALLY Oikawa would be retiring from the team 🙄

As much as an asset he was, he was the #1 reason they couldn’t have nice things

Needless to say, the second and first years were hard at work, scouring far and wide for a manager

Now, you knew of Seijoh’s infamous volleyball team

You also knew of loserkawa because all of your friends had crushes on him

Seriously… y tho?

But not you, you didn’t really find Oikawa to be your type

Instead you found interest in someone else 👀

A certain short haired, blue eyed angel

You were in a few classes with Shinji and knew he was on the volleyball team

But he honestly never seemed to notice you

He was pretty popular and he talked with everyone

But you ☹️

It honestly kind of hurt your feelings

But you see, the reason he wasn’t talking to you wasn’t because he didn’t like you

Oh no no no

In fact, it was the opposite

Man had the BIGGEST crush on you!

Literally, he watched you from afar way more times than he’d care to admit

You were so cute and fun

He adored your smile and how friendly you were to everyone

So when Seijoh found themselves in need of a manager…

Well let’s just say that a certain SOMEONE noticed your mutual pinning with Watari

A certain replacement setter 🙃 who was kind of annoying but like also way less annoying than Oikawa

Yahaba thought you would be the perfect addition to Seijoh’s team

You were smart, calm, fun and most importantly, cute 🥰

Which is why he asked you to be Seijohs’s manager, right in front of Watari

Man’s knew what he was doing

“Hey YN!” Yahaba shouted as Watari watched, confused as Yahaba ran up to you, “I was wondering if you’d be interested in being Seijoh’s manager?”

You looked at Yahaba and then your eyes drifted to Watari, who looked heckin mad that Yahaba was even talking to you

“Umm well I umm don’t know much about volleyball,” you shyly said

“Let me ask you, do you have a crush on Oikawa?” Yahaba asked as Watari glared at him from behind and you gasped

“WHAT NO!” You shouted

“Ok then you need no prior experience! Watari will walk you to practice tonight! See you there Yn!” Yahaba said running away quickly

Please he thinks he’s SO smooth 😅

After class, Watari nervously awaits you

You come out, smiling shyly as he greets you, walking you to the gym

“I’m glad you agreed to be our manager Yn,” he said, blushing

You practically die because he’s so freaking cute 😩

In the gym, you are greeted by Yahaba, Kyotani, Kindaichi and Kunimi

They are all extremely respectful and so happy your here

But then you hear it

The voice to break all sound barriers

Because guess who’s still on the team 🙄

“Oh my goodness is that Yn-Chan!” Oikawa screeches

The younger guys 👉🏻😐 please don’t leave us Yn we promise he’s leaving

“Hello annoying-kawa,” you responded

Please the rest of the guys are so freaking happy 😌

Despite the setback of having to deal with Oiks, you decide to take the manager position

Mostly because you get to be close to your crush 😻

You come to live and adore your team

Yahaba turns out to be a solid leader

Kyotani is quiet but super respectful

Kindaichi and Kunimi are both just happy you exist

And Watari, well he’s flustered like 98% of the time

You look so pretty in your managers uniform 🥹

You are super helpful to all the guys and always there when they need you

Watari has gotten more comfortable talking with you and vice versa

He helps you with water bottles and hanging nets

He helps you learn the game, rules and each position

Heck he even walks you home at night 🥰

Literally the sweetest boy

You’ve done well handling Oikawa

It’s the last few months before the third years finally leave so thankfully, only a little bit more time Yn 🙌🏻

Oikawa is always Oikawa meaning he loves attention

And Watari really gets annoying by this

He respects Oikawa but Oikawa is pushing it at this point

And both Yahaba and Kyotani notice his shift 👀

One night, when the second tears are tearing down the gym, Yahaba decides to bring it up

“When are you gonna confess to Yn?” He says as Watari stops and looks at him

Please his face turns bright red

“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Watari responds

Yahaba 👉🏻mmhmm 😐😑

“It’s pretty obvious you like Yn,” Kyotani adds

Jesus does everyone know?!?

“She’s not interested in me, why would she be?” Watari responds as he finishes gathering the balls

Apparently all boys are oblivious because you are definitely interested Yn

And thankfully, we have an embarrassing Oikawa moment to make that VERY clear

“Yoo-hoo YN Chan!” An agitating grating voice fills the gym

You 👉🏻😐🙄 yes Oikawa

The entire team is gearing up for a practice match

Watari is helping you set up chairs as well as fill water bottles

“You know, I’m retiring soon and I think it’s time you grant your setter a date,” Oikawa chimes

Oof Watari is PISSED 😅

But you, our calm queen, remain neutral

“But I don’t even like you Oikawa,” you say as everyone dies of laughter

“Shittykawa leave Yn alone!” Iwa shouts as Mattsun and Makki back him up

“YN come on! How often is it that you get to go on a date with someone like me?!?” Oikawa shouts

“Sorry Oikawa but I like someone else,” you say as Oikawa reels

Watari deflated a little because of course you like someone else, you are gorgeous and smart and funny

What guy wouldn’t want to date you?!?

“Someone better than me Yn?!?” Oikawa continues

“Miles better,” you respond

“Who?!” Oikawa asks

“Shittykawa I swear to god- if you don’t leave Yn alone!” Iwa says before you interrupt

“I like Shinji,” you say, smiling at him and walking away

what kind of names do you think Mantis would give to her new abilisk friends? though at the end of Vol. 3 she collectively calls them her "babies" as they evacuated the Arête and i think that's already heckin' adorable

i've been thinking about this since you sent it. i would love to know what you think, actually. i love mantis but i don't know enough of her canonical background to say anything with confidently, and i honestly cannot decide. so here are a number of things i considered:

i thought about tiny mantis, with baby fat still in her cheeks and eyes even wider than they are now, her antennae always glowing. she tells peter that ego swept her away from her home planet after she was left orphaned in her larval state - but a god like ego can't be bothered with raising a child. i thought maybe, after she'd help him fall asleep, baby mantis would sit and swing her legs, and dream herself up some imaginary friends. you've probably never seen a more sad or lonely thing than tiny mantis, wandering the lush and vibrant terrain of ego the living planet: bickering with the ghosts of her dreamed-up family, playing some self-taught variation on tag or hide-and-seek by herself.

i thought maybe she named her adopted abilisks after them.

and then i thought that - ego is not exactly a reliably storyteller. perhaps he told a young mantis the story of his charitable adoption of her so many times that she believed it - and since she was so young, she'd have no reason to question it. but maybe she was not simply orphaned. maybe he orphaned her the same way he orphaned pete, destroying a family who loved her so much, who had such hopes for her. maybe she had two older siblings who couldn't wait till she was big enough to play with, and they made up all her days and nights and joys and fights. they probably had nicknames. maybe the younger one was still enough of a baby to mispronounce everything, and mantis held onto that memory: the slightly tilted and childish pronunciations, wobbling with affection. maybe her conscious mind can't recall them, but when she reaches out to her abilisks, she finds those innocent, almost-meaningless names rising up in her lungs like flowers. she doesn't know why - she just knows they're there, right on the edge of her antennae.

then i thought maybe mantis would name them the most mundane names possible. very "human" or terran-esque: gladys and john, maybe. maybe she thinks they are very cool names. or she knows exactly what she's doing and thinks it's hilarious.

or - and here's the one i think i like best -

maybe she doesn't know what she's named them.

mantis is not a telepath, but she is an empath. at the end of vol3, she speaks to her babies with a little purring chirrup. she probably doesn't know what it means - not really - but she knows the associations. she knows the vibes.

the sense of come with me˚ ༘ ೀ⋆.˚

the sense of of go with me wherever i go༘*.ﾟ and of ༘ ⋆｡˚i will go wherever you go, too

did that little trill mean come along⋆.˚જ⁀➴ or did it mean * ੈ♡‧₊˚we are companions or did it mean ⋆-ˋˏlet's depart into the silvered sky together✩₊˖°˖⁺‧

mantis doesn't know, but she knows it feels like all of those things.

do the abilisks have names for themselves? maybe. maybe not. mantis will probably never really know. but she probably asks them, because that's who mantis is. i like to think she takes all the little chirps and purrs and clicks and rumbles that feel best to them, and that's what she uses to call and speak to them. words that mean something like ༘⋆✦⋆ ˚｡home and love♡✧˚ ༘ and embrace✲ﾟ｡⋆ and my child, my darling, my little one.ೃ࿔*:･₊⊹

you might think, how silly, that mantis has inadvertantly named the slightly smaller one something like ✧˚ ༘⋆｡Sweetie-Pie♡˚ in their language, and the even bigger one now goes by a series of warbles and churrs that are close to ༘⋆-ˋˏAdorable Baby. after all, they're four times her height and like a hundred times her body mass mass and they vomit interdimensional glitter and rainbow confetti whenever they get anxious, like very large and very nervous cats. but even if mantis knew what she was calling them, she wouldn't stop. and they wouldn't want her to.

all three of them, together, know that she would cuddle them up and tuck them into her heart, and keep them safe no matter what.

Some musings abt the soon to be Precure season

So i took a look at the new website and bruhhh

they're so tacky looking and cute I love them! I'd actually gotten spoiled for Cure Wonderful and Cure Nyami's designs thanks to fanart on pixiv, and at the time I thought the season was going to have an Alice and Wonderland motif thanks to Wonderful's crown [thought she was gonna be like the queen of hearts but nope]. After checking out the website and trailer tho, it seems like the theme is more of a zoo and or animal companion theme. When I first realized that I thought to myself "wait haven't we been here before?" but thinking about it further Healing Good's theme was more along the lines of veterinarians and the earth[?] and Kira Kira Precure's was moreso just animals as window dressing/attack inspo with sweets being the main theme so I suppose we're not technically retreading old ground here. Speaking of not retreading old ground- HOLY SHIT THE MAIN CURE IS A DOG??

Just like...a full on dog dog bruh, like dang man I never thought i'd see the day where we'd essentially get a fairy leading the team. It seems like the team's split into both humans and animals, with Cure Nyami definitely being that white cat

This is exciting! I love that Precure's held onto having fairies transform into humans, it's so heckin fun! Back to the designs- In order of my favorite to least favorite it's Cure Nyami [look at that hair bruh! she is beauty, she is grace]

Cure Friend [the poncho and hair are my fav]

Cure Wonderful [she looks like such a peppy kid awwww]

and lastly Cure Lillian [her arm thingies remind me of Futari Wa and I adore that ribbon]

Honestly, I think this may be the first time since Kira Kira Precure that I've been immediately on board with the designs. I ended up loving Hirogaru's over time but at first glance, I couldn't get over how weird they looked [never fully ended up liking Cure Wing's design but still love the character]. The only thing I dislike about them is Lillian's headband, and the big heart on Friend's shoes. I'm sort of a big sucker for poofy/frilly skirts, long straight hair, and ponchos so I feel well-fed. I'm especially looking forward to seeing them all in motion, especially Lillian since based on her turnaround she seems to have a bit of sass to her. Based on Nyami's turnarounds/previews she seems to be more of a kuudere[?] type which isn't something we've gotten for a main cure in a while. There's also all of these guys just hangin' out on the site too

Can't wait to see what these lil guys can do, hoping that they'll be connected to powerups and maybe even special outfits/attacks [really enjoyed it when Happiness Charge did that]. But maaaan this is so cool. It seems like ever since Hirogaru decided to play around with Precure conventions they're going all out with unique approaches to the formula. One thing I hope they continue doing this season tho, is keeping the fighting style as a literal fighting style like super sentai where they actually throw punches. I love Kira Kira, but there's only so many times [like 2] that I can watch someone fight by pointing a wand at something before I start skipping the battles. Really loved how Hirogaru frequently would have the characters strategize in battle, it really kept me engaged even if I always know how it'll end. All-in-all, it's sad to see Hirogaru go, but I'm excited with what new stories await in the new season! ^^

summer girl

warnings: tooth achingly sweet fluff, domestic!matty, them being heckin adorable. Enjoy!

“Matty, put down the camera for two seconds and look around you! We are in the most beautiful city in the world with some of the best art in the world. The land of Pablo Picasso, Antoni Tapies, Manolo Valdes and Joan Miro!” Nora, clearly, was elated to be on their honeymoon. Matty and her had thrown around ideas for the trip for a full 3 months before making a decision: Rome, Paris, Greece, Australia, Japan, Amalfi Coast, Ireland, Miami… until they landed on Spain. It then took another two weeks to narrow that down to Barcelona and come up with an itinerary and to-do list. La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, The Picasso Museum, La Boqueria all being Nora’s picks. Matty decided on a sunset walk on La Rambla, the aforementioned Fundacio Joan Miro, Parc de la Ciutadella, and going to see a FC Barcelona game at Camp Nou. At every art museum, Matty would make the comment that Nora’s art was leagues better while she wandered around in awe - it never failed to make her giggle and blush.

The pair had been running around for a week or so now, Matty taking every opportunity to photograph Nora at their various stops and compliment her outfits and hype her up a bit. His favorite of these photos was taken at a secluded quiet beach they had found one afternoon, and it was like something out of Baywatch. Nora, in all her bikini-clad glory coming out of the crystal blue water. He thought his heart stopped at that moment and almost dialed for an ambulance. How was he this lucky? Not even in his dreams did he imagine this perfect of a wife, of a vacation, of a life. He was brought back to reality by her waving a hand in front of his face and giggling at him. “Like the bathing suit, Handsome?”

“O-oh god yes, Honey. You look positively drool-worthy in it.” He stuttered.

They took another dip in the water, dried off and changed into their walking clothes. She had gotten the most beautiful white sundress for the trip, lacey and delicate. Matty was in his summer uniform of a tee shirt, some sort of dress pants or jeans and sneakers. He currently was wearing Nora’s favorite of his to steal: it was a white shirt that had “I’m a little devil from Niagara Falls, Canada” written across the chest with a little cartoon. It had been put through the wash so many times now that the collar was starting to get loose and holes dotted the hems. The comforting shirt also allowed for his arm tattoos to be out on display, Nora was going a bit insane ogling them as they walked holding hands. Deciding they both needed to cool down a bit after being in the blazing spanish sun all day, they stopped for some shaved ice and coconut water.

That night for dinner, they went to a tapas bar and drank red wine like it was water. They sat in a quiet corner of the restaurant and giggled away as they recalled the early days of the relationship and their trips to London and New York to visit each other - always greeting the other with a ridiculous sign and flowers at the arrivals gate. The band in the bar was playing some Pete Rodriguez and basa nova as the two spent what felt like an eternity talking.

“You know, I have that Mets hat framed somewhere in storage from your first trip to London… kept it all these years later.” He confesses bashfully, half drunk.

“Well, good thing I still buy that candle from the time you came to New York for my birthday.” She reciprocates. The idea of the other keeping mementos of each other and their early love is enough to make them cry.

“Okay, before we get too emotional here, wanna go back to the hotel, Handsome?”

“I’d love nothing more, Honey.”

When they stumble back into their room, Nora runs for the closet where she was keeping his surprise wedding present. Matty was fixing them both glasses of kalimochos - red wine and coke from when they met, still being their drink of choice.

She grabs the guitar case and walks back to the small suite’s living room. “My love, come here for a minute… got something for you!” Nora’s voice rings as she calls him over.

“One second, Darling… just gotta grab something as well.” A devious giggle follows. He walks to their bedroom and grabs a neatly folded printed receipt from the side table.

“Alright, buttercup… let’s see what you’ve got.” She unsuccessfully hides the guitar case behind her back and giggles when she pulls it from him as he makes a reach for it. “C’mon don’t tease, baby. Lemme see what you’ve got in that… I wonder what it could be.” His eyes glimmer in the light and a smirk falls on his stupidly perfect lips.

“Here you go, baby… Had the hotel people drop it off while we were at the beach earlier.” She holds out the case and he gives her a wink as he grabs it. Opening it quickly, his face drops. Within it is a beautiful black Spanish guitar with cowboys sitting around a fire carved into it and “Singin’ Cowboys” engraved and covered with red paint. Matty’s heart stops and his eyes mist over. It is the most stunning, well-crafted instrument he’s ever held in his own hands. He takes it out and begins to play the start of “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls and his stomach sinks - it sounds even prettier than he could’ve imagined.

“My love… this is the greatest gift anyones ever gotten me. I love it so much, gonna treasure it for the rest of my life. I love you, baby… so so much.” He tells her as he looks up at the angel before him. How could she possibly be real? He wipes some tears from his eyes and kisses her with such tenderness and warmth that it takes her back a bit and knocks the wind out of her. When they disconnect for air, she holds his face for a moment before kissing his forehead. “My sweet boy.” She whispers.

“My sweet girl.” He kisses her nose and taps it quickly. “Now, beloved, here is yours. I couldn’t physically get it here because it’s being shipped to New York currently, but I made sure to print out the order and a copy of it to give to you while we were here.” He nervously twists his rings around his finger… a habit he’s picked up since their New York wedding months ago.

“Oh, please Matty you didn’t have - oh holy shit… is- is this real?” She quickly asks, reading the paper over and over again to verify its real. An authentic Antoni Tàpies, one she’s always dreamt of since she learned about Spanish art in high school. She must’ve told Matty a hundred times about the art in Barcelona and all her favorite artists in Spain.

“Very real, baby… Hopefully you like that specific piece. I thought it had a cool energy to it and matched some of your work. What with the the hands and semi-heart above them.. Plus it’s from the 60s which I remember you always saying was one of your favorite decades in art!” He scratches the back of his neck as he rambles and tries to remember what she’s told him over the years and the information the seller gave him.

“Matty… Les Mains is one of my favorite pieces of art like ever… You’re insane oh my god! I love you and thank you thank you thank you, Handsome!!” She runs into his arms, still clutching the piece of paper in her hand. She knocks him back at first from the force of the hug, but quickly his arms wrap around her waist and he kisses her head.

“Love you too, baby. Can’t believe I am lucky enough to spoil you for the rest of my life and have you forever.”

“Me neither, Handsome.. and for the record, having you as my husband is the greatest gift I will ever receive.”

“Couldn’t agree more, Wife.” He kisses her again and in that moment it feels like time and the world ceases to exist. Just him and Nora in Barcelona… husband and wife.

He would be the absolute sweetest, and perhaps the second best person to care for you in this moment

As a wizard, he has access to an insane amount of knowledge and tools that will help in your recovery

Gale crafts different kinds of pain management potions, hoping that at least one of them will help

When the pain becomes too much, and no amount of medicine will help he tends to hesitate for a split second

He's unsure as to what to do in that moment except to hold you close and press the softest of kisses to your cheeks

Whatever it is you need in that moment, simply ask, write it down, or sign it to him and he is immediately on it

Gale is canonically the cook of the camp, which translates well to when you're stuck on a liquid diet.

Makes the absolute best soups known to man-kind

and tea, oh my gosh, his tea is amazing to help soothe your jaw from the inside

He makes it with special magic herbs that provide warmth to soothe the soreness

His real secret ingredient though? Chamomile, a floral tea bursting with flavor that lessens the swelling

Overall, 10/10 would be taken care of by Gale

Wyll

Sweet sweet boy

He's so damn proud of you for going through such a terrifying procedure

Wyll's aware of how nervous you were to go through with it, and the fact you did- Gods, he's so proud

He wouldn't know too much about how to handle the proper care, aside from the instructions given by the Doctors and Nurses

So he would definitely follow the papers to the T. No straying away from it

"Sweetheart, the paper said you-" is a constant statement in your household now

Tries his absolute hardest to make tasty liquid meals for you, some are amazing, others are downright horrid. Absolutely no in between

Wyll definitely has some sort of guilt regarding the liquid diet, feeling awful that you can only have liquids whereas he can have anything he wants

So he took it upon himself to join you on said liquid diet

You know that Simpsons meme, "It's "uter-us," not "uter-you."

That's Wyll when it comes to your recovery, you two are in this together, and he will do what is necessary to help you

If you want kisses at all from this man, you better prepare to convince him for 15 minutes that he wont hurt you

He's aware of how painful it is, and is worried he may hurt you in some way

which he wont. but still

Astarion

He understands the basics of healing as he himself has had to care for his own injuries by himself

but this is different, you're not alone in this, and he refuses to leave your side

Someone he adores, someone he loves with all his heart just went through a traumatic surgery, so yeah, he is not leaving your side once

Astarion insists on taking care of everything for you, announcing you as bedridden until you are healed

He ensures you take all your meds on time, fluffs the pillows, brushes your hair and cares for you 24/7

Too tired to read yourself? Don't worry, rest your pretty little eyes, He'll read it aloud

Astarion does everything nearly perfect, if not a little overbearing. All except one thing

The food

He is definitely not a cook, sure, he can make a solid omelet, but are you able to eat it currently? nope

Tried to make a soup for you on the first day you got home... he doesn't want to talk about it

And so he enlists Gale to help create meals for you to accommodate your liquid diet

Astarion is definitely the biggest lovebug in regards to your healing, constantly pressing kisses wherever he can

cuddling you as you sleep with you head against his chest

holding you so so close, you can almost hear a heartbeat in the vampires chest

Keyleth - she’s so flattered??? Like, yes pls she adores the random affection and tries to hide her face in your neck

Vax’ildan - loves it! Has that big smile plastered on his face when you do, and if you try to leave he pulls you back in like “oh no you don’t 💕”

Isaac - amused by your sudden affection and offers you smiles in return as he is flattered by the attention

Alucard - Heckin!! He unconsciously melts into it! Ohmygod he loves it so much and craves it even after you walk away!! Pls come back later for more kisses

Hector - shyly laughs about it but let’s you hold him (blissfully) as you just kiss his cheeks, forehead, face, etc.

Trevor - got that teasing, smug smile as he holds you close too, “you just couldn’t resist could you”

i think the only band i really am annoying hipster liked-it-before-it-was-famous about is mother mother. i've been into them for yeeaaaarrsssss and i know someone who knew them irl and apparently they were all really financially struggling before their tiktok fame and so i'm so happy for them i really am!!! but their early albums fuck so hard tbh and now all their stuff is just like unlistenable heckin doggo ted lasso music and they're associated with the most annoying people alive. alas kentucky, alas vanity. still fucking adore their old shit though

Kiibo x Mikan, please. Is there anything else to be said?

There is a lot to be said actually! Like how these two are heckin adorable but also prone to accidentally causing so much collateral damage in some form. They are trying their BEST. It would be an interesting dynamic though considering that Kiibo wouldn’t exactly need Mikan’s medical assistance given the fact that he’s a robot which I feel will distress Mikan because what now??? What can she do to help??? NURSING WAS HER ONLY TALENT!! But instead Kiibo seeks MIkan for a different sort of knowledge—knowledge on how to socialize with others. And now Mikan is distressing a lot because???? Why would anyone ask HER how to socialize?? Does he not see how bad Mikan is at simply having a conversation with someone???? Ah but…he’s still asking for her help isn’t he? And OF COURSE Mikan will give it. She’ll turn every stone for someone who needs her.

And so Mikan helps Kiibo learn how to socialize with others whist teacher herself at the same time too. And I feel like Kiibo will learn so much from her because Mikan actually isn’t that bad at socializing. In fact she’s quite in tune of what others are feeling and what boundaries they may need. But boy does her self-esteem need help. But if there’s anyone with confidence to spare it’s the best robot in existence. So Kiibo does his best to pay back all her help by bolstering her confidence and maybe he’s a little too loud but they get the hang of it eventually. Such a sweet lil ship this is since it’ll be nice to see Mikan realize she has a lot of offer outside of being a nurse that she probably isn’t even aware of.

Sentret line review

Sentret's one of those Pokemon that isn't talked about all that much, but is pretty cute. It's a completely abstract animal, kind of like a meerkat crossed with a flying squirrel/tanuki, with a series of rings being its primary visual focus.

Visually, I like how the central ring is paler, which helps it to stand out against the darker browns of the body. The little ^ mouth is pretty cute, and the tail helps get the idea of it being on watch across. Adorable!

Sentret's biggest issue is really just that it's not that memorable—the brown color looks nice but doesn't stand out that much, and the surveillance idea is fun but not really built upon. If it had a different evo that really doubled down on that theme, I think it might've stood out more in the long run.

Speaking of evos, I misremembered this line as Furret evolving into Sentret rather than the other way around, which goes to show you how much of a sense of progression is here (that being none). There are visual elements between the two—the stripes, the nose-less face, the colors—but they ultimately feel like two unrelated 'mons slapped together in the early beta. Alternatively, I could see them being a split evo to a single pre-evo of some kind.

But as a regular evo? Furret doesn't really build on any of Sentret's themes, so you just end up with a pretty mundane 'mon—especially as it's not even a fantasy animal anymore but very clearly a ferret.

Now don't get me wrong, I do still like Furret for one reason: it's heckin' cute. I do like the patterning of the stripes a lot, its little face and whisker-like markings are perfect, and it just looks very cuddly. I don't think the tips of the ears quite fit with everything else, but aside from that, there's nothing wrong with it visually aside from just being fairly plain and forgettable.

My suggested fix would probably be to do a regional form for these guys. The Zigagoon line (i.e., the other racoon-turned-elongated-creature-line-with-distinct-patterns line) did this with fantastic success, and I think it could work well here to spice things up.

I'm not entirely sure what you could do with these guys, but the rings almost remind me of a target, and Furret's shiny is this lovely pinkish-red that really pops nicely. Maybe a regional could be a poison-type that entices other Pokemon to hit them, poisoning their predators when they come into contact with them? Idk, just spitballing, but the point is these guys could use something. An evo's not out of the question either, though these two are already so disconnected that it's hard to figure out what direction you'd take another stage.

Anyway, overall: I love how cute these two are, and Sentret's a fun little mystery animal, but the two stages don't feel connected and they don't manage to stick out much. Here's hoping they get something in the future.

Hey, Z! This is such a good question! SO MANY. And since the numbers are high, I'm gonna stick to folks I've read that are easily found on AO3. I would be here all week otherwise. (I was a late bloomer and still am a slow reader.) We're so lucky here in SPNland. Back in the day, when YKINMKATO reigned and people knew how to scroll on, the field was verdant...

~I already mentioned paxlux in a previous post, who has made a recent return to the brothers, at least briefly. If you appreciate poetic prose, lots of atmosphere, give them a try.

~In a similar vein as paxlux: lovetincture. And part of what I really adore about both of these authors is that they don't feel the need to go into (porno)graphic detail. Sometimes, the relationship, the feeeeeelings, are enough. But if you do loves you some durty:

~dollylux, homo_pink (they're still floating around the fandom, pretty sure! They just haven't written in a while), riyku, leonidaslion (tho they don't always hit my id, they're good), nutkin and mollyamory. Gorgeously shameless!

~One of my fave authors, with or without the brotherlovin' is candlebeck, holy crow, are they GOOD. Same with kroki_refur. Masterful writers, period. They make it seem so easy but we know, it sure as heckin' is not.

~Road_rythm writes some beautifully complicated stuff! Complicated, in that it's thinky and twisty and unsettling in every way it really should be.

~And lastly, rei_c. Anything they wrote set in New Orleans is *chef's kiss*. And one of my old go-to 'verses is their Five Districts, Five Drugs series. Due for a re-read, actually!

There are more I'm forgetting, I'm sure! So we'll save them for another Wednesday. In the meantime...

Jeremy had been having a crappy day for no apparent reason and it was horrible.

It was a Saturday! He had all the time in the world to do whatever he wanted! But no, he was just sitting in his bed reading shitty fan fiction and feeling unbelievably stuck.

He was utterly numb, since he woke up he'd gone downstairs about once to eat breakfast and that was it. Now he was just sitting, music on full blast through his earbuds but still feeling absolutely nothing.

He checked the time, 1 pm. Three hours since he woke up and two since he'd eaten breakfast. Wasn't he supposed to meet up with Michael today?

Whatever, Jeremy thought, It's not like anyone notices when this happens.

The more rational part of his brain tells him, People do care! Michael does, Christine does, all of your friends do! But Jeremy wasn't in the mood to be rational. Instead, he shut his laptop and laid onto his bed, unable to sit up again.

After what felt like five minutes he checked the time on his phone 2:30, huh, longer than I thought. He noted, ignoring the multiple missed text and just laying there, music still on full blast.

A knock came from downstairs. Was his dad going to answer it? Wait, no. His dad was switching groups in his job and had to attend an orientation.

The door opened. At least Jeremy didn't have to get the door.

Wait! What if it's a robber! Jeremy panicked, What if I get murdered?!

"Jeremy!" Michael's familiar voice called.

So not a robber then. Just Michael.

Jeremy heard footsteps and soon enough Michael was standing at his doorway. Jeremy just stared at him, too stuck to say anything.

Michael's eyes scanned over Jeremy, assessing him for something. "It's one of those days?" He asked, worry clouding his eyes.

Jeremy nodded, not moving from his spot on his bed. Michael nodded.

"Be right back!" He said, rushing downstairs.

Oh well, guess I'll stay here, waiting.

Jeremy didn't know what he was waiting for. Was it Michael? The ability to feel? He didn't know.

In hours or seconds, Micheal reappeared at his doorway, holding something in his hand.

"Look what I got you!"

Jeremy looked at what was in Michael's outstretched hand. It was a little plush dragon. It was light blue and sparkly. Jeremy took it slowly. It was soft, and kinda heckin' adorable. He slowly nodded, still looking at the plush and not Michael.

Michael went to sit on the edge of Jeremy's bed, making sure not to crowd him. "Are you gonna name it something?"

Jeremy thought for a bit, "Francis," He croaked out, voice rough with disuse. He smiled, not because he was happy per say, but because he felt he could actually be happy, that he was a little unstuck.

Michael nodded in relief, "Francis the Dragon, a mighty name for a mighty stuffed animal,"

Jeremy nodded and turned his head to Michael, "Do you have a matching red one?"

Michael shook his head, "You up for coming with me to get one?" He asked.

Jeremy thought for a bit, "I can get in the car, not a store,"

"Okay then, you'll stay in the car with my phone for music while I get myself a dragon,"

Jeremy nodded, standing up to go downstairs, cradling Francis in his arms.

please know that this is all fluff,very minor angst!

Keep in mind you’ve been with Jenn since y’all met at a coffee shop when she was cramming for finals at law school. You just so happened to always be there when she needed caffeine. (I love a meet cute leave me be)

Angst?

The was only ever one bump in the road and that was when she went missing for 2 weeks. She didn’t tell you anything at all. You just knew she was with her cousin Bruce and they were on their way to her parent’s house for dinner. It drove you mad. You were so angry and frustrated with her when she came back home. “JENNIFER SUSAN WALTERS! WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU!?” She flinched at the sound of her full name. Ruh roh. At this point you were in tears and finished off with “I called your parents and you weren’t there. I thought you were missing or dead. I love you Jenn, but you need to tell me about these things. I don’t care where you go because my heart will always follow. I’d appreciate it if you just gave me a heads-up about a change of plans, okay?” You were both crying and there was a lot of hugging and kisses. Jennifer was still afraid to hurt you though.

The day you found out was the day she fought Titania while presenting a case. She didn’t know you were waiting outside of the courtroom for her. You had wanted to surprise her with lunch at her favorite cafe. When you heard the crash you ran in and tried to find her. When you didn’t, you felt your heart rate pick up. Where could she be? When your eyes met with green they slowly became the hazel you know and love. She slowly moved towards you only for you to step back. “So this is what you kept from me?” She didn’t know how to respond. She just wanted to protect you. “We’ll talk when you come home. I need to think for a minute. I love you.” And you walked out. She knew she was in the dog house the moment she saw you in your shared apartment with your hands on your hips. At least you weren’t upset for long after she explained everything.

Fluff!

Jennifer Walters loves you just as much as you love her. The thought of you literally keeps her from hulking out most of the time. If she’s already in hulk form and can’t go back to your Jenn you just need to hold her hand. She’s a puddle of love and adoration as she shrinks down to Jennifer size.

She loves waking up and seeing you next to her and having your arms around her. She feels so safe and comforted. Jennifer hates having to work so early in the morning because she misses you so much all the time. It may seem a little codependent, but she adores you and wants you all the freaking time.

You own a bar, so you’re your own boss. That must be heckin nice,huh? Since you have a bit of free time you make different dishes for Jenn to try when she comes home. She loves that you work, but the sight of you cooking for her makes her heart flutter. She loves you so fucking much. You care for her well being and remind her to eat and drink water. Sometimes you cook together because Jenn wants to learn, but doesn’t know where to start. So you’ll stand behind her and guide her while you wrap your arms around her waist and rest your chin on her shoulder. Every time she does something right without guidance earns her a kiss along her neck. Her knees buckle a bit whenever you do that.

WEEKEND CLEANING! I cannot stress this enough. She loves days like this. You don’t DEEP clean unless it’s a holiday, special event, or spring cleaning. Y’all just clean together. Wash dishes together, clean the windows, and mirrors. (Think of that scene from up where they’re fixing up their house) Just two humans in love and enjoying each other’s company.

Ace rescues a sea monster tangled up in a net, getting them to surface just enough for him to sit on top of them and saw at the net with a knife. They have humanoid traits, but they're different from mermaids and fishmen some how. Maybe they've got hair, but also short, dense fur and flat fins and paw-like hands like a seal. Or maybe you're some sort of giant seabird person. Big sharp teeth too, and weird eyes. They thank him, clearly struggling with the pronunciation just a little, and he laughs, reaching out to pet their head. You two say your goodbyes, and he takes off on Striker. A few days later, with the rest of the crew, an unusually rough storm hits, and someone falls overboard... and they're found unconscious, kept afloat by a familiar inhuman face. Turns out Ace's new buddy had followed him.

I'm getting strong Otter-monster vibes from this, and I like it. It's certainly still monster vibes, and the humanity is a little off from humans and fishmen and such, but also there's the occasional streak of just "heckin' adorable".

Otters also prefer pods and packs and such, so it would explain them following after Ace after being saved, and subsequent curiosity about the rest of the crew.

They stay clear of the fighting, even if they could fight, and instead either bring crew mates to the surface who end up in the water, or take enemies for a dive.
