On a warm summer night, between torments of slumber and insomnia, my eyes flew open as sweet sleep evaded me. That's when I caught the shadows unfurling on the wall. I let my gaze drift elsewhere yet I could feel its presence and not even the blanket could offer the false sense of safety it usually provided.

I could feel my throat closing and my muscles getting tense and the next thing I know I become a prisoner to my bed.

The shadows grew tall and I saw flashes of hellfire and ash mingling with a musical tinkle from a familiar wind-chime or was it a peal of laughter that I heard?

My heart beat fast and the shadows and flames danced and swirled in an infernal tune, closing in on me like a hurricane, swallowing my screams which never left my lips.

Suddenly I woke up gasping for air and in a distant land, a cursed nymph smiled as her fingers grazed a rusted wind-chime.
