pov: layla
"You doing anything after school?" Matt asked me as he stole some of Nick's fries, causing his brother to hit him on the arm and I shook my head.
"No, but you are," I pointed out and he furrowed his eyebrows for a moment, "Training, Matthew."
"How did you forget you have training when you have been playing hockey for the last 5 years but she remembered?" Nate chuckled in disbelief from across the table and Matt shrugged.
"Oh Layls!" Allie chirped up from beside me, interrupting her own conversation with Mia who was sitting on her right, "Do you have a dress for prom yet?"
"Uh, I'm probably not going," I told her honestly and her face dropped sadly.
"What? Why not?" she asked, disappointment clearly in her tone and I shrugged.
"It's just not my thing," I answered honestly and she pouted slightly.
"Come on, it will be so fun! I can help you pick out a dress and everything," she pleaded with me and I gave her an apologetic look.
"She doesn't wanna go, Allie. Drop it," Mia grumbled from beside her, making my face drop at the rudeness of her tone.
"I'll think about it, okay?" I said kindly and her face lit up again before nodding, "Are all of you going?"
"Yeah," Chris nodded, clearly seeming unimpressed but agreed to go nonetheless, "No thanks to Al."
"You could've said no," Allie shrugged, smiling at him widely and he smiled, shaking his head and I leaned over, placing my hand under Allie's chin.
"How can you say no to this adorable face?" I asked sarcastically and Allie tapped my hand away lightly, a snicker falling out of her mouth.
"Shut up," she rolled her eyes playfully and Matt nudged my thigh with the back of his hand, making me look at him.
"You wanna come over after training?" he asked and I pursed my lips, giving him an apologetic look.
"I can't. Maybe tomorrow though," I told him and he nodded before turning his attention back to the group, "Nick, we still need to get our suits."
"I can't get mine till Allie tells me her fucking dress colour because we have to be matching," Chris chimed in again and I looked at Allie with raised eyebrows.
"You are going together?" I asked and she nodded happily.
"He said the only way he'd go to prom is if I agreed to go as his date that way he isn't stuck with anyone he doesn't like," she laughed and I smiled, nodding my head before I glanced at Chris.
"Matt," Mia chimed in catching not only Matt's attention but mine, "Remember your tie has to be red because my dress is red."
I felt a wave of jealousy pulse through me and I looked at the table before me. I had no right to be jealous, Matt and I weren't together in any capacity and he and Mia had been friends for years. It was just the fact it was Mia he was going with that pissed me off.
Of fucking course he's going to prom with Mia.
"Right," Matt nodded, seemingly ignoring Mia for the majority of the day. My brain had been wracking what they could've talked about to make him give her the cold shoulder like he was, I wanted to know if I caused it.
I didn't care about Mia but I knew Matt didn't want to lose her as a friend. So instead of starting an argument or causing a fight, I remained silent and chewed at my lip.
"Nick," Nate spoke up again catching Nick's attention and I pushed my food away from me, suddenly losing my appetite completely, "Are we matching too or what?"
"I thought you were going with Gemma?" Nick asked, clear confusion on his face and Nate shook his head, taking a sip of his water.
"Decided not to. Would rather be with you guys," he shrugged and Nick nodded in response.
"Why don't one of you take Layla?" Allie spoke up and I turned my head to look at her with a frown, "That way she also has a date because we can always bring someone else."
"Allie, I don't even know if I'm going yet," I responded and she shrugged, looking at me as she sipped on her iced tea.
"Just as a backup plan," she answered and I chuckled with a shake of my head.
"I was planning on bringing Jake since Nate said he was already going with Gemma," Nick answered honestly and Allie raised her hands triumphantly.
"Great! Nate, you can take Layla that way we all have a date!" Allie cheered and I looked at Nate, studying his reaction and he shrugged.
"I'm cool with that. Layls?" he asked, seemingly unbothered about whether or not he had a date.
"If I'm going, then sure," I shrugged in response and he nodded, taking another sip of his water.
"What colour dress are you thinking?" Allie asked, whipping her phone out of her pocket and I gave her a deadpanned look before her gaze met mine again, "In case you want to come! Nate is buying a suit regardless so might as well match it to a colour you like if you do come."
"Probably black," I shrugged, not wanting to argue with her and she nodded, tapping away on her phone.
"Makes my life easier," Nate shrugged, an amused smile on his lips and I smiled at him, both of us finding humour in the situation.
"What about this?" Allie leaned over, shoving her phone in front of my face catching me off guard as my eyes adjusted to the screen. It was a sparkly black strapless dress and I shrugged. I looked at the price and my eyes widened.
"Allie, I can't afford that," I answered quietly and she dismissed me with a wave of her hand.
"Don't worry about the price. I'm looking for dress styles you like," she answered quickly before tapping away on her phone again. Matt tapped my thigh once again before leaning over.
"Are you really gonna go with Nate?" he asked and I turned my head to look at him, a small expression that showed he was displeased written on his face.
"I don't know if I'm going at all yet. This is Allie's doing," I shrugged and he hummed, looking down at the table again making me smile as I leaned up to whisper in his ear, "Now who's jealous?"
"What about this one?" Allie once again leaned over, showing me a photo of a black halter neck dress that seemed to be a silk material. I shook my head knowing the shape of the dress would look awful on me, "Okay we need to figure out what kinda dresses you like."
"I don't wear dresses Allie," I gave her a half smile as Matt wrapped his arm around my shoulders and she nodded.
"Even more of a reason to find a dress you actually like," she announced as she went back to her phone making me smile in amusement.
"You could just not wear anything," Matt whispered into my ear and I punched his thigh making him groan.
"Don't be such a guy," I rolled my eyes, a smile still on my lips as I looked up at him. He shook his head, a slight smirk on his lips. He placed a kiss on the side of my temple.
"What's going on here?" Nate asked causing us to turn our heads to look at him.
"Oh, Matt didn't tell you guys?" Chris asked, a malicious smirk on his face and I let my smile drop.
"Chris," Matt said in a warning tone but Chris, as per usual, didn't listen.
"They fucked last night," Chris said casually and I threw my hands to my face, my cheeks lighting up red.
"What?" Allie gasped next to me and I didn't dare take my hands away from my face.
"For fucks sake Chris, don't say that! We didn't!" Matt protested and I curled closer to him, the embarrassment making me hide like a child.
"So you didn't sleep there last night?" Chris retorted and Matt sighed, running a comforting thumb up and down my arm.
"Yes, I stayed there bu-"
"And you said that you did stuff," Chris taunted further and I sighed, not wanting to look at the judgment on their faces yet.
"Chris, shut the fuck up," Matt mumbled through gritted teeth and I finally pulled my hands away from my face. Nate's face just looked surprised and Allie looked somewhat happy but Mia had the biggest scowl on her face I'd ever seen.
"Are you fucking serious?" Mia screeched causing Matt to whip his head to look at her, "You had sex with her?"
"I didn't!" Matt said in the same tone and I closed my eyes, heads turning to look at us from all around the cafeteria.
"And I'm supposed to believe that? Look at you!" she replied loudly motioning between us and I looked at Allie who was frowning at Mia.
"Mia, calm down. It's not the end of the world," Nate raised his eyebrows at her and she scoffed, rolling her eyes dramatically.
"I guess whoever wrote that shit on your locker was right. You are a slut," Mia mumbled so quietly I almost didn't catch it but when I did, my blood ran cold with nothing but rage.
"Mia, what the fuck?" Allie said in disbelief of her best friend saying such a crude thing.
I took a moment to think whether or not it was worth it to fight her and get myself expelled. I had been trying so hard to keep up with school and I wasn't going to throw it away for her.
So instead, my mind travelled back to when I saw the locker and looked around the room. I never once saw Mia and I know Matt had gotten rid of it by the time I went back to get my things for English.
"Hey, Mia?" I said, grabbing her attention and she looked at me with annoyed eyes, "How do you know what was written on my locker?"
"I saw it," she squinted her eyes at me and I nodded, leaning forward so Matt's arm slid off of my shoulders, now wrapped around my lower back.
"When did you see it exactly? Because I didn't see you anywhere when I first walked into the school," I raised my eyebrows and she stilled for a moment, "Did you guys see her when I went to the bathroom?"
I looked around the table and everyone shook their heads before I looked back at Mia who grumbled, "I saw it before you guys got there."
"Why were you there before us? You never come to school early," I pointed out and she once again stilled, her pissed demeanour turning nervous as she glanced between everyone.
"I had to do some stuff for cheer," she shrugged, trying to play it off and before I could speak again, Allie interrupted me.
"Practice isn't till after school. No one ever comes to school early for cheer, Mia," Allie deadpanned, calling her own best friend out and Mia shook her head.
"What are you trying to say? That I did it?" she asked, placing a hurt hand on her heart.
"Nope. You made that connection on your own," I told her, not letting my rage shine through at her as the guys just looked between us like a tennis match with slack jaws, "It's a funny coincidence though, isn't it? The one time you were at school early there's shit written on my locker."
"I didn't do anything!" she huffed and I hummed, nodding my head once again as I smiled at her sweetly.
"For the record, Mia, Matt and I didn't sleep together. In fact, the people that I'm rumoured to sleep with I never have. I can't say the same about you," I shoved away from the table, picked my bag up from the floor and walked out of the cafeteria without another word.
"Mia, what the fuck is wrong with you?" I heard Matt's voice yell at her as I walked out of the cafeteria doors and towards the exit of the school. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, sending Matt a quick text to say I wouldn't be at school for the rest of the day before I exited the grounds, beginning my trek home.

After messaging Wes and telling him I was going to deliver for him earlier than originally planned, he agreed it was a good idea and invited me to stay for a bit.
"Why does it look like someone shit in your breakfast?" he asked as soon as he opened the old green apartment door, paint falling off at various places.
"Just had a shit day," I shook my head, stepping inside the small compound before I closed and locked the door behind me, "You wanted two ounces, right?"
"Yeah. You got the coke too?" he asked and I nodded, picking up the two ounces of weed out of my bag and throwing it on his kitchen counter before I pulled out the small bag of coke.
"He only had an 8-ball but I can get you more next week," I told him honestly and he nodded, counting up the cash before handing it to me and I placed it in my bag. I went to turn around and exit the building again but I was stopped.
"Where you goin'?" he asked and I spun around, looking at his long mop of blonde hair, "You look like you had a stressful day, babe. Chill with me for a bit."
"I don't know Wes," I trailed off, not knowing if I wanted to hang around here for too long.
"Come on. I got this new shit from Chase. It will make you see God," he said, holding up a small bag of weed and I chewed my lip, really needed some sort of a relief.
Unfortunately, I caved and said, "Fine. But I'm only staying till six."
"Fine by me," he nodded, taking the packet and throwing himself on the old leather couch. I sat beside him since it was a two-seater, not allowing much space between us but I was used to it at this point.
I'd been delivering to Wes for 2 years now and he never once made me uncomfortable, except for the time he smacked my ass 2 months ago because he was high off his ass and thought it would be funny. Since then, he'd apologised multiple times and I let it go.
"More shit at school?" he asked in regards to my tense demeanour and I nodded, falling back into the couch as he grabbed the rolling paper.
"Just some bitch saying stupid shit," I mumbled angrily and he hummed, quickly rolling a joint like I'd seen him to hundreds of times.
"Rich?" he questioned and I chuckled, nodding immediately and he rolled his eyes, sliding a filter into the joint, "Of course."
"There's this guy though," I told him honestly as he began sealing the joint with the moisture from his tongue as he looked at me with raised eyebrows, "He stayed over last night."
"Look at you! Finally getting some dick," he chuckled to himself and I shoved his shoulder with a roll of my eyes, "They grow up so fast."
"Shut up, dude. We didn't go the full mile," I rolled my eyes and he chuckled once again.
"It's a start. I don't remember the last time you told me about anyone," he pointed out and I shrugged as he picked up one of the many lighters littering the coffee table in front of us.
"Yeah well," I trailed off at he lit the end of the joint, "His friends are nice too. One of them wants to take me dress shopping for prom."
He took a hit of the joint, keeping the smoke in his lungs for a moment before he passed it to me, "I thought you hated that shit."
"I do," I replied as he handed me the joint and I took a hit before continuing, "But she really wants me to go for some reason and one of their friends said he would take me as his date if I do go."
"Why isn't Romeo taking you?" he asked as I took another hit before I handed it back to him and I let out a bitter laugh.
"The girl who's being a bitch is one of his friends and they've been planning on going together way before I came into the picture," I explained and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, taking a moment to inhale before he spoke again.
"I'm so glad I dropped out this shit sounds way too confusing," he mumbled and I took the joint from him again, taking two more hits in a row, "Alright chill out. You're gonna green out if you're not careful this shit is strong."
"I'm fine," I shrugged, handing him the joint again as I sunk back into the couch further, the effects of the drug already hitting me, "I needed something to take the edge off anyway."
"You already finished that bag I gave you?" he asked and I nodded, rolling my head to the side to look at him as he joined me in sinking back into the couch.
"Dad took half of it so yeah," I replied and he rolled his eyes, jumping off the couch and walking to the kitchen. He returned moments later with another small bag in hand and threw it into my lap, "Wes, I don't need it."
"Take the fucking bag, Layla," he smiled down at me and I pursed my lips before nodding, sliding the small plastic-wrapped weed into my bag.
"Thanks," I gave him a thankful smile as he took another hit, sitting back down on the couch beside me, handing me the joint once again. We continued handing the joint back and forth in silence until it was down to the filter before he threw it in the ashtray on the table.
"Ya know," he started, making me turn my head towards him lazily, "You're always one of my favourite people to smoke with. We should do it more."
"Because I'm just so charming," I smile at him dopily making him chuckle, the drug taking its full effects slowly on both of us.
"You're just chill," he shrugged, sliding further into the couch and I chuckled, laying my head back on the top of the couch as my eyes began blurring in and out of focus, the ceiling seeming so far away.
"You think I should go to prom out of spite?" I asked, my words mumbled from my dry mouth the drug had created and he hummed.
"Show up hot as fuck, make her mad and make him regret his decision of not taking you instead," he laughed to himself and I smiled, nodding my head in agreement even though I wasn't sure he could see me.
"Sounds like a plan," I answered and he hummed in response, my body going limp from the strong weed, "What is this shit?"
"Blue Dream," he responded and I lifted my head to look at him, "Isn't it sick?"
"Dude," I squinted my eyes at them as they now felt heavy, "You know this shit is supposed to make you mad horny, right?"
"Oh fuck," he began laughing to himself and I couldn't help but smile at his idiocy, shaking my head in disbelief, "I had no idea. Chase just said it's hella strong."
"On that note," I leaned forward and stood up lazily, "I'm gonna go."
"No come on," he whined and I looked down at him, my eyelids heavy and my breathing laboured.
"I'm not about to stay here and watch you get a fucking boner," I laughed as I picked up my bag, "I like you dude but not that much."
"Next time we'll smoke something else I swear," he leaned forward, holding out his hand for a fist bump which I quickly reciprocated, "You gonna be good to walk home?"
"Yeah, no worries. I'll see you next time," I waved as I unlocked the door, swinging it open before closing it behind me. I waddled down the steps of the apartment, making my way onto the road where the sun was starting to go down.
As I walked down the pavement, my legs wobbled and my vision became less focused. I was used to walking around high but I'd never had Blue Dream and I could tell its effects of horniness were hitting me. I could barely focus, the wind around me swaying me as I walked. I almost tripped onto the road and I sighed, deciding to sit down on the curb for a moment.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket, realising it was already 5:30 and Matt would be done with his training by now. Through my foggy thoughts and wanting to be with someone right now, I clicked on his contact and waited as it rang in my ear.
"Hey, Layls," he answered after two rings and my fave immediately lit up, the sound of his voice bringing joy to the chemicals in my brain.
"Hey baby," I mumbled, the words falling off my tongue like honey, "Whatcha doin'?"
"I just got out of the shower. Are you okay, pretty girl?" he asked, sounding confused by my tone and I nodded regardless of if he could see me.
"I'm great! I just miss you," I whined, throwing my head down onto my knees that were pulled to my chest. A car drove past me quickly and I lifted my head, the sound startling me.
"Where are you?" he asked, his voice laced with concern but all I could focus on was the rasp of his voice, heat travelling directly between my thighs.
"On the corner of Valine and West Street," I mumbled, throwing my head back down onto my knees and I heard shuffling on his end of the phone.
"What are you doing there?" he asked, his voice still laced with worry and I sighed dreamily.
"I just had to drop some stuff off to a friend but my legs are tired. I don't wanna walk home," I whined loudly and I heard him hum, doors closing before a click.
"I'm coming to get you, pretty girl. Can you stay on the phone?" he asked and I hummed in response, my stomach igniting at the thought of seeing him right now.
"I'll do anything for you," I responded, my voice filled with seduction and lust before I giggled at myself.
"What did you take?" he questioned and I rolled my head to the side, the cold breeze feeling nice on my skin.
"Just smoked a little bit," I answered honestly and he sighed before mumbling something I didn't catch, "Can you keep talking to me?"
"I'm almost there. I'm like three minutes away, okay?" he responded and I sensed a slight annoyance in his tone but I brushed it off as I hummed, squeezing my thighs together, "Are you alone?"
"Yeah," I sighed, lifting my head and looking around at the lifeless street around me.
"Okay, I'll be there in a sec. Just don't move," he answered hurriedly and I sighed dreamily once again.
"I like your voice," I mumbled, closing my eyes as I listened to the sound of the engine revving as he drove and I heard him chuckle, my heart filling with joy at the sound.
"Thanks, pretty girl," he answered and I could hear the smile in his voice making my smile widen.
"I just like you in general. You're really nice to me," I mumbled, a dopey smile on my lips as I let my eyes flutter open and I once again heard him chuckle.
"I like you too," he answered softly and my smile widened, "I'm a minute away."
"Thank god," I let out a breath of relief, making sure my bag was on my shoulder as I began standing up, losing my balance briefly, "Whoops."
"You okay?" he asked and I hummed, regaining my composure, sliding my bag further up my shoulder as I pressed the phone to my ear. I looked up to see headlights coming towards me before Matt said, "Hey, pretty girl."
I smiled at him, despite being blinded by the headlights before I waltzed over to the car, hanging up the phone as I pulled the passenger door open, "Heyyy."
"Oh my god," he shook his head with a smile as I jumped in the car, slamming the door behind me before I clicked my seatbelt in.
"You look good," I smiled at him as I leaned over, pressing a kiss to his cheek. My eyes scanned his body, noticing that he was wearing a white hoodie, blue plaid pyjama pants and not shoes, "You didn't even put shoes on."
"Shoes weren't exactly my concern when I left the house," he raised his eyebrows at me and I pursed my lips, holding back a giggle.
"Sorry," I bit my bottom lip and he shook his head, a soft smile on his lips, "Can I be honest?"
"Of course," he nodded and I smiled up at him dopily again.
"I'm really high," I giggled, tucking my messy hair behind my ear.
"Really? I didn't notice," he answered sarcastically and I hummed, leaning over the console as I placed my hand on his jaw, pulling his face towards mine. I pressed my lips against his, the feeling of his body so close to mine making heat travel directly between my thighs.
"I missed you," I mumbled against his lips and he took that as an opportunity to slide his tongue in my mouth dancing with my own. I got lost in the feeling of his mouth against mine, my heightened sense making it feel like I was in heaven.
"Okay," he pulled away from me before placing another quick peck on my lips, "I'm not about to get into this while you're high."
"No," I whined, pulling his face to mine once again and he snickered against my lips making me smile once again before he pulled away again.
"Baby," he whispered, placing his hand on my cheek to lift my head to look at him, the pet name making my heart swell, "I'm not doing anything unless you're sober."
"But I'm so horny," I whined, leaning my head on his shoulder and I felt his chest shake with a laugh.
"I'm aware," he said through a laugh before I lifted my head to look at him with a pout, "But that's because you're high."
"Why do you have to be such a morally right man?" I rolled my eyes, a smile still on my lips and he brushed my hair behind my ear as I melted into his touch.
"You want me to drop you home?" he asked and I shook my head, my face turning sour at the thought of having to face my father.
"Can I stay at yours? I don't wanna deal with my dad," I frowned and his face softened, "I don't wanna go home."
"You can come to mine, it's okay," he began stroking my cheek with his thumb and I let my head slump against his hand, the touch making me feel calm again, "You can lay your head on my shoulder, pretty girl. I gotta drive."
I nodded lazily, moving my hand off of his hand and placing it on his right shoulder. He took the car out of park and drove down the road. I hummed to the song playing on the radio and he used his right hand to reach over the console, placing it on my thigh and running his thumb up and down.
"Don't do that," I mumbled, moving his hand further down so it was closer to my knee, "You're just gonna make me wanna fuck you even more."
"Sorry," he said through a chuckle as I closed my eyes, adjusting my head on his shoulder, "You have no filter when you're high."
"Why do you think I made you put my hand up my hoodie the first time I was high around you?" I mumbled, smiling to myself and he hummed, "Wes didn't tell me the strain until after we had it and he didn't know it made you horny."
"Wes?" he asked and I forgot he didn't know who Wes was.
"Mhm. Been friends with him for two years," I explained and he hummed, sounding slightly annoyed, "I left after he told me though. He had no idea."
"I'm sure he didn't," he grumbled and I smiled, looking up to see a frown now covering his face as he drove with his left hand.
"Don't be jealous. He's like a brother to me," I leaned up, kissing his jaw lightly making him sigh.
"Mhm," he hummed and I trailed kisses down his neck, sucking the flesh under his ear making him let out a heavy breath, "Layls."
"Yeah?" I mumbled against his skin, getting lost in the way his body reacted to me.
"I'm driving," he mumbled, his grip on my thigh tightening slightly making me smile against him.
"Then focus on the road," I smirked into him and he let out another breath, tilting his head to the left to give me more access. I continued to suck and kiss all over his neck as his breathing got heavier.
Suddenly, the car turned a corner before coming to a halt and I looked up to see we were already at his house. I pursed my lips, hiding my smile as I looked at the purple dot I had created on his skin.
"Let's go," he said, pulling his hand off of my thigh as he turned the car off before jumping out of the car and I followed his actions as he walked inside quietly.

I have so much love in my heart for what Our Skyy 2 x My School President is doing with its story I can scarcely contain myself. The writing both as its own standalone and as a commentary on the OG show and also a commentary on writing and filmmaking itself?! I AM LOSING IT! I love how this universe's characters just being shifted into different places in the story completely changes how the story goes, how with Tinn's boldness and Tiw's competent support and Gun's unsureness and Por's emotional intelligence still existing just in different places in the story how, some of the big moments just don't happen. The club gets cancelled. The dance doesn't happen. But some other moments emerge. It looks like Tinn is also pining for Gun in this version, but Gun's fears are holding it all back. The songs are even being used differently, and there's been at least one rerecording that I caught on the first watch. I fucking LOVE this, way better than a simple body swap or character swap. This is a legit AU, it's a total rethinking of the story.
And then there's all the fun bits, like Lion, the Prom Night dance choreo, Por and Tiw secretly dating, the faces Fourth makes when imaginary Tinn blows in Gun's ear, the fact that they came up with new merch. It's just delightful! I can't wait for tomorrow's ep!

Pretty please I was thinking Xavier Thorpe x Reader sort of based off ‘You Belong With Me’ By Taylor Swift and it’s basically just Xavier’s best friend pinning to him their entire lives and has to suffer in the side lines of him and Bianca’s relationship while their friendship slowly dies only to be reignited after Xay and Bianca break up and maybe ‘prom’ could be the Rave’N dance?
think i know it's with me (oneshot)
resp : this trope be hitting like a brick. idk if i can write it as good as it's supposed to feel but here's my take on it!!
word count: 3, 169 (what the actual fuck)
angst, fluff, Bianca is only mentioned
(i forgot about the prom thing oh my god)
You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset She's going off about something that you said 'Cause she doesn't get your humor like I do
"Oh please, it wasn't even that bad. Your humor's not that great, Principal Weems could probably make me laugh faster than you ever could." you say in between bites of the pizza you were sharing with Xavier in the quad.
"I don't know, man. Principal Weems can't do the griddy as good as I can." he supplied, trying to sound present but you know from the slight scrunch of his eyebrows that he's thinking of something else.
Xavier Thorpe has been your friend ever since you were both still in your diapers. You could say best friend and it wouldn't be wrong but he'd probably disagree and call you his glorified armrest (given the fact that he could very easily rest his arm on the top of your head) to annoy you.
Right as you were about to do another dig at his (not-really-dry) sense of humor, his phone started ringing.
You rolled your eyes and looked away after Xavier gave you a look that spelled out i'm sorry i have to take this call and also help me i think i'm fucked.
He was right, he was incredibly fucked. That one annoying ringtone has served as an omen of an impending argument with his oh so perfect siren goddess girlfriend, Bianca Barclay.
Looking back at him and finding him still looking at you, you raise your brows in question, "Go ahead, Xavier. Answer the call of the hell-bringer."
Breathing in and doing a heavy sigh, Xavier answered the call. The phone wasn't even on speaker but Bianca's voice sounded like it came out of a megaphone.
"That was way out of line, Xavier! You may be my boyfriend but it doesn't give you the right to make fun of my appearance."
"Bianca, I literally only said that your eyes looked like that one Miley Cyrus meme. It's not that deep." You had to hold in a laugh as you heard the incredibly shallow reason that sparked the argument.
"But if it made you feel bad, then I'm sorry. I..." you turn to him with a look of confusion, after all why is he apologizing when he did nothing wrong? But Xavier just met your gaze and then looked away. "I apologize."
"This is the second time this week that you've made me feel bad, Xavier."
Getting frustrated you stand up and fix your uniform, getting ready to leave your best friend to talk with Bianca. Xavier notices, looks up at you and grabs you by the wrist. He mouths, 'please stay.'
Taken back by the sudden touch of his hand on yours, you froze where you stood.
"I know, I'm really sorry. Let's meet at the Weathervane tomorrow? Grab some coffee and talk about it."
You harshly forced your hand out of his and walk away, heading to your room. Upon reaching the doors to the dormitories, you hear footsteps behind you. Turning around, you were faced with Xavier.
Panting and standing right in front of you closely (too fucking close), he opens his mouth to speak. Before he could, though, you turned back around and made your way up the stairs.
"Hey, hey." He calls after you but you just continued to go up the stairs.
He calls your name and grabs your hand, and that made you stop. "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong? What's wrong is you forgetting about our plans for tomorrow, Xavier. We were gonna celebrate my debate win, remember?" You wince, realizing how bad your words sound. They sound so desperate, so trivial.
"I promise I'll make it up to you. I just.. I really need to fix this stuff with Bianca."
You hummed in response, but nodded anyway. After all, you didn't have the right to be mad.
Xavier lets you go, sensing that you need some time alone to process your emotions. You make your way to your room, thankful that Yoko wasn't there to witness the emotions you let out.
The friend can't compete with the lover after all.
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday night I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like And she'll never know your story like I do
The day after, Xavier got back from the Weathervane exhausted. The remnants of his date making their presence known with the way he speaks during your phone call.
Not wanting to tire him further, you settled for a Spotify session instead. You two take turns showing each other songs that the other might like and adding them to a collab playlist. It's become a habit of yours to sketch while on Spotify sessions with Xavier, so along with the music came the faint scratching of your pencil on paper.
You had to listen with your headphones though, as Yoko was also doing something on her side of the room and you don't want to disturb her.
"Okay, okay but listen to this one by Matt Maltese." You say as you changed the song from Fallen Star by The NBHD to Everyone Adores You.
Everybody thinks of you when they sleep at night
When I say 'everybody', I'm actually referring to me
As you hum along, a faint echo of the song plays from the room in front of yours. Across your window, Xavier was listening along.
"That was another good one. I have one that I think you'll like up next but don't look at the queue."
"Hmm? Okay, if you say so."
The song you played comes to an end and a song by Cigarettes After Sex starts to play. Your sketching stopped, seemingly in sync with the increase of your heartbeat.
Opera House was playing as you placed you pencil down and closed you eyes.
"So, do you like it or...?" Xavier asks after the obnoxious loss of your rambling.
He calls your name out again, and you notice how it sounds so different coming from him. How it sounded so divine, like it was a sound made just for him to speak.
"Ah, um. Yeah, I love it, actually. I didn't know you listened to Cigarettes After Sex?" you ask, trying to fill in the silence on your part.
"I've just started listening to them. Noticed you liked them a lot so I decided to give them a try."
You hum in response, unable to focus as you process the lyrics of the song.
I was meant to love you and always keep you in my life I was meant to love you, I knew I loved you at first sight
Did he listen to the lyrics before? Or did he just send you this because he liked the way it sounds? So many questions popping up, one after another. You snapped out of it when you heard him calling your name again.
"Bianca's calling me.." He says reluctantly, waiting for your reply.
"Oh, okay. Um, it's fine. It's getting late anyway. Have a good talk. Good night, Xavier."
"Thanks for tonight. Bye." The end-tone plays momentarily. You take off your headphones and tidy up your table.
"Are you sure you two are not dating?" "HOLY FUCK!" "Cause like, that's definitely not just-friends behavior." Yoko blurted out of nowhere, startling you.
"NO! No, definitely not. He's dating Bianca." You say as you make your way to your bed.
"Oh, shame. You two would've made a better couple."
We would've. We could've. But I just didn't have the guts to tell him how I feel.
"Hmm." You hummed in reply. "Good night, Yoko."
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
Walk in the streets with you in your worn-out jeans I can't help thinking this is how it ought to be Laughing on a park bench thinking to myself Hey, isn't this easy?
"Anyways, I just feel like Miss Thornhill's too stressed about the RaveN. She's been dropping things a lot during class right?" You say as you kick the poor lonesome pebble you found on the pavement along with you as you walk on the campus paths.
"Dude, I got startled when she dropped that pot with the black dahlia. Heard she was taking good care of it too." Xavier replies, to which you chuckled because to say he was startled is an understatement.
"Startled? You literally kissed the table when it happened, that's what you get for dozing off."
"The table was lucky that day then."
"Oh please, you think too highly of yourself."
"The truth is the truth."
"And all you've been saying are lies. Anyway, we're here. Let's sit down before we miss it!" You say as you approach the bench facing away from the main building. The sky was clear and there were no obstructions blocking your view of it. You both sat on the bench and looked up, waiting for the meteor shower.
You take your earphones and plug it in your phone. You look to your side and see Xavier holding out his hand, asking for the other earbud.
"Oh my fucking god. The Xavier Thorpe asking to share earphones with a girl that's not his girlfriend? I can imagine Sinclair's face if she finds out. And Bianca's too." You exclaim jokingly as you hand him an earbud.
"Everyone knows we're close friends, so it doesn't really matter."
friends. doesn't really matter.
"Oh, yeah." You hope you didn't sound disappointed. " Of course."
You put your playlist on shuffle and look up at the sky as Affection by Cigarettes After Sex plays.
It's affection always, You're gonna see it someday My attention's on you Even if it's not what you need
I think of you, I want you too, I'd fall for you
The universe is cruel, you concluded. Why would this song play, out of all the songs in your playlist, right now? At this very moment, when you're alone with your best friend whom you've liked for years now. it's like a forceful confession brewed by the universe.
"Look! It's so pretty." You exclaim, pointing to the first glimmer of light from the sky.
"I know, it really is pretty."
You look at Xavier, finding him not looking up at the sky but at you. He quickly looks up though, but you still caught the way his eyes lingered just a bit too long on yours.
Maybe the universe isn't that cruel after all.
"By the way..." "Hmm?" "I know I promised you that we'd go to the RaveN together this year, but.."
And there it is, but. You didn't have to guess to know why.
"Bianca wanted to be my date for this year. I hope you understand."
You look away, trying to make the sting from your eyes go away. It was expected, how could you be so dumb to even think that he'd go with you?
"Yeah, it's fine. I figured you'd go with her. Have fun at the party then." You looked back at him after wiping your eyes, hoping that the tears weren't obvious.
"Tha- wait. What do you mean 'have fun at the party'? Your'e not going?" He asks, his face and voice laced with confusion (and disappointment, but maybe you'd imagined it).
"No, I'd look so miserable going alone. Plus, I have to finish my book." You give him a smile, hoping that it looks genuine.
"Are you sure? I can ask Ajax to take you-"
"God no, Enid would claw my eyes out." You laugh, but it sounded dry. "I promise, it's fine."
"Nothing I can do to change your mind? I can ask Bianca if I can go with you."
"No, Xavier. You have to go with her, she's your girlfriend after all. I'm just your friend, you should go together."
You tried not to take notice of the way your own words stung. (And how it seems to have hurt Xavier too, the way his brow scrunched when you said just friends was not exactly subtle)
"Oh, okay. Yeah, you're probably right." He sighs and looks up at the sky. You look up too.
"Fuck, clouds covered our view."
"We should probably get inside, it's 3am. And it's starting to drizzle." You say, standing up. The drizzle was staring to get heavier and your clothes were getting wet. you were pretty sure you were gonna get a cold.
You noticed Xavier taking off his coat and before you could protest, he's already put it over your head to shield you form the rain.
"But what about you?" You ask him, worried.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." He assured you. You then made your way back to the dormitories.
Xavier insisted on dropping you off right at your door, so that's what he ended up doing.
"Thanks for the botched meteor shower observation, idiot. And thanks for letting me borrow your coat."
"Wow, some actual kind words from you? The world must be in trouble." He says sarcastically.
"Oh, shut up Thorpe. You should get going now, we have a 7am period tomorrow."
"Oh fuck you're right! Bye."
"Night." You say as he turns to leave. You close the door gently, so as not to wake Yoko.
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
And you've got a smile That can light up this whole town I haven't seen it in a while Since she brought you down You say you're fine, I know you better than that Hey, what you doing with a girl like that?
"Hey, you okay?" You ask Xavier. You're getting worried, he' s been in a sour mood all day. Not even bothering to talk to you, or to anyone at all. You knew it had something to do with Bianca, as you heard them screaming at each other in his room.
"Yeah, 'm fine."
"You sure?"
"Yes."
"Like, really sure?"
"Damn it, I said I'm fine okay?! Why can't you understand that? You're getting so annoying, it's so infuriating. Why can't you understand that not everyone wants your sunshine personality all the time? You are so irritating."
Frozen in your seat, you look at him with wide eyes. Xavier has never lashed out on anyone, especially at you. So this caught you by surprise.
You didn't even notice you were crying until he looked at you. His face was a mixture of shock and disbelief (you hope it was aimed at himself).
He says your name, but it didn't sound nice anymore. It sounded like a bad omen, like a dark cloud that promises a storm and you were a girl with a body made of paper.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to-"
"I didn't mean to annoy you. I'm sorry, I'll leave." You say, frantically walking to your own room. You were walking too fast, your eyes blurred by your tears that you tripped on the stairs. You had a cut on your forehead, but the physical pain couldn't combat the pain you felt inside you.
As you curled up in your bed, missing your classes for the rest of the day, you hoped that Xavier would show up at your door. Knowing him, he'd probably apologize a thousand times.
You waited hours, the mid-afternoon light fading into the bluish glow that 6pm brings but Xavier still hasn't knocked.
Maybe you never really knew him after all.
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
You were looking at the sky from the rooftop of the academy, watching the sunset paint the sky with different shades of love.
Purple. Blue. Red. Orange. Pink
You feel the presence of another coming up from behind you, making you turn around and whip your arm out as a defense mechanism.
Xavier catches your hand, lowers it but never letting you go. His hold loosening but his touch never leaving.
You look at him properly, his eyes heavy with tiredness. It's been a week after he lashed out on you. A week of no contact. A week of pure torture. Within a week, the cut on your forehead has now turned from red to a dark brown. The cut on your heart hasn't healed as fast the the one on your forehead.
"Let go." You ask him but he doesn't budge.
"Xavier, let go. Please." And then he did. Your arms now hung uselessly beside your body, and you hate the way they crave the warmth of his hands.
He says your name, it feels like a trigger as been pulled and the gun was pointed at your chest.
"Please-"
"I heard about what happened. If you're here to blame me for your breakup with Bianca, then leave. She's already done that, I don't need you to repeat the shit she said."
"Listen, I'm sorry. Yes, we broke up but this is not about that."
"Then what is this about?"
"Us. About me and you. I'm sorry I said all those hurtful things to you. I didn't mean to hurt you, I wouldn't dare to hurt you. I was just so stressed, with Bianca and the truth."
"What do you mean, Xavier? Stop speaking in riddles."
"Bianca. I think she used her abilities on me. I saw her siren song one of her friends to do what she wants and I realized that what if she did it to me? It all makes sense, when I'm with her it's like my body is on autopilot. Like, I can't control the things I do. But when I'm with you it's like I'm myself, you know? I was so fucking confused, but now I see the truth."
You couldn't speak. Couldn't even utter a single word. To say you were speechless is an understatement.
Xavier steps closer to you, the tips of your shoes touching. He holds your arm with one hand gently and tips your head up to meet his gaze with the other.
"It's you. It's always been you. Whenever I wanted to draw or paint, I'd find myself making portraits of you. I started listening to the songs you liked. I turn around when I hear your name. God, it was so fucking obvious. It's you."
His hand slides down from your arm to your hand, intertwining your fingers with his.
"I think I know where I belong, now." He says, smiling. The most genuine smile you've even seen him give. And as you stare into his eyes, they seemed to pull you in.
You never learned how to swim but you wouldn't mind drowning in his eyes. You never liked to drink but you wouldn't mind getting intoxicated by his presence.
Xavier Thorpe, the man you've pined for. The man you've watched from the sidelines. The man you love, now finally yours.
You stared at his eyes, then at his lips. Before you could move, his lips meet yours and it's like an explosion of colors and all things nice. You bring your hands up to his hair, burying your fingers in the softness of them.
Breathless and lovesick, you break away from him and smile. Blissfully, you say:
"Think I know it's with me."

Катя
Питомцы требовали много внимания, из-за чего их воспитанием приходилось заниматься не только Сашке, но и Кате.
(The pets required a lot of attention, which is why not only Sasha, but also Katya had to raise them)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(It would be better if they devoted more time to their daughter, who would be threatened with expulsion from school for terrible academic performance, but tomorrow is the prom. But Karina tried hard in class, even prepared a report on history, which her classmates were delighted with. Who knew that the game "Assassin's Creed", the plot from which Karina used, was not based on historical facts. The harmful teacher gave her a bad grade and left her after school because of her talking)
Tumblr media
(Seeing her sad daughter return from school, Katya told her several jokes and left with a feeling of fulfilled maternal duty. But the girl’s mood did not improve. She still didn't feel needed or loved)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Несколько часов спустя, когда Сузи опять начала громить квартиру, Карина обнаружила, что осталась с собаками одна.
(A few hours later, when Susie began trashing the apartment again, Karina saw that she was left alone with the dogs)
Tumblr media
Родители решили развлечься в городе и отправились в подпольное казино, где много лет назад Сашка проиграл почти состояние Пиковой Даме, но в этот раз с ним была его верная супруга.
(The parents decided to have fun in the city and went to an underground casino, where many years ago Sasha lost almost a fortune to the Queen of Spades, but this time his faithful wife was with him)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Кто опять проиграл? Сашка! По крайней мере, проиграл он Кате, и пострадала только его гордость. Долго обижаться на жену он не мог, ведь они сильно любили друг друга.
(Who lost again? Sasha! At least he lost to Katya, and only his pride suffered. He could not be offended by his wife for a long time, because they loved each other very much)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Отыграться Сашка решил в танцевальном конкурсе, но проиграл более молодому Филе. Да, Сашка, мы знаем, что мешает хорошему танцору!
(Sasha decided to win back in a dance competition, but lost to the younger Filya. Yes, Sasha, we know what hinders a good dancer!)
Tumblr media
А вот Катя снова была на высоте и выиграла этот конкурс. Хоть конкурировать пришлось не с мужем, а то он бы опять обиделся.
(But Katya again rose to the occasion and won this competition. At least she didn’t have to compete with her husband, otherwise he would have been offended again)
Tumblr media
В это время Карина проклинала дурацких собак, свою жизнь и непутевых родителей, убирая за питомцами.
(At this time, Karina, cleaning up after her pets, cursed the stupid dogs, her life and her unlucky parents)
Tumblr media
Зато на следующее утро она шла в школу с отличным настроением. Прощай, глупая учеба и злые учителя! Кстати, сегодня выпускной и у Ады.
(But the next morning she went to school in a great mood. Goodbye, stupid studies and evil teachers! By the way, today is Ada’s graduation)
Tumblr media
Карина договорилась с подружкой пойти на бал вместе. Ну их, этих тупых мальчишек. Они отлично повеселятся и без них.
(Karina and her friend agreed to go to the ball together. They don't need these stupid boys. They will have great fun without them)
Tumblr media
Сашка вновь предпринял попытки воспитать собак, но те только делали вид, что очень сожалеют.
(Sasha again made attempts to punish the dogs, but they only pretended to be very sorry)
Tumblr media
Бросив это гиблое дело, он уделил внимание жене. Дочка вернется домой поздно. Так почему бы им не развлечься?!
(Having abandoned this disastrous business, he paid attention to his wife. Their daughter will return home late. So why shouldn't they have fun?!)
Tumblr media
Супруги отправились в недавно построенный Игровой центр.
(The couple went to the newly built Game Center)
Tumblr media
С первого взгляда было понятно, что Центр облюбовали дети и старики. Супруги так сильно увлеклись настольными играми, что время пролетело для них незаметно, и вернуться к приезду дочери они не успели.
(At first glance, it was clear that the Center was chosen by children and old people. The couple became so engrossed in board games that time flew by unnoticed for them, and they did not have time to return in time for their daughter’s arrival)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Карина получило огромное удовольствие от бала. Они с подругой даже выиграли главный приз за парный танец. Омрачило вечер только вручение аттестатов в конце.
(Karina really enjoyed the school ball. She and her friend even won the main prize for a couples dance. The only thing that marred the evening was the presentation of certificates at the end)
Tumblr media
Не видать Карине стипендии в университете. Еще и заплатить придется, чтобы приняли на первый курс. А вот Ада была вполне всем довольна.
(Karina will not receive a scholarship at the university. She will also have to pay to be accepted into the first year. But Ada was quite happy with everything)

Like I said already, I graduated high school this year. So naturally, because I'm somehow both lazy and busy at the same time, I don't draw anything for the occasion like I wanted to until the literal DAY before I start college. (Yeah, I'm not joking- my first day of college is tomorrow.)
Just because I've come this far since I joined Wattpad as a 7th grader doesn't mean I know how I did it. Oh, wait- yes I do. I do know. I guess I don't know my own brain. Anyway, it's because I had, and still do, a burning desire to reach out to you and tell you about all the silly little stuff I had on my mind. I also wanted to get to know people all around the cyber world who liked the same stuff I liked. (I hope I can find someone who does in my art college.) I wanted y'all to know that Unikitty and Minecraft: Story Mode were (and still are) my two most favorite things ever. For months, I begged my parents for it, and I eventually got it for Christmas. Over the years, I've come to like more shows, games and movies. I even realized that I liked doing musical theater, too. Since I joined Wattpad, I've expanded my posting to DeviantArt, this site, YouTube, and more.  I've probably told you all of this many times before, but I say it for a reason.
As I also said already, high school was as fun of an experience as it was... interesting. I couldn't finish my freshman year, and I missed my entire sophomore year, and if you survived 2020, you probably know why. I still passed, though. I think that junior and senior year made up for that. I was in the school musical both of those years, I got to attend my first prom junior year, and I went to Thespian Fest senior year.
Maybe the real high school experience was the friends we made along the way, as I've joked. But I wanted to surround myself with people I could get together with. As SpongeBob said, "I only want to hang out with my friends." And I did, 'cause we made every day the best day ever, especially the night we graduated. (The trampoline park we went to afterwards had some killer chicken tenders!) I took one of my friends to see Elemental before she went out of state for her college. I still keep in touch with a lot of them. Still, I'm really gonna miss everyone, and I wish them luck in their future endeavors.
As soon as school let out, my family took me on a trip to celebrate the fact that I graduated, and I made a video about it. You can watch it on my channel if you'd like.
But, I digress! There are a bunch of people here who I've just gotta show my gratitude for. You guys are part of why I keep going in life.
For @joyseer24, @agent-egg, @sundove88, and @pinkiemeowstic89, some of the earliest people I remember interacting with me.
For @erin-the-epic and @clg-artisa, who never fail to put a smile on my face.
(Also, special thanks to all the Unikitty fans here and on YouTube who called me out on my BS back in 2021.)
To @nevaehjwilliamsvaeh, a fan of Mao Mao and Six. I always love seeing you in my notifications!
@pocketlad, thank you for being my lad.
For @federthenotsogreat. It's nice to have a fellow Mario & Luigi fan to chat with.
@generalfoxy21, thanks for liking my posts and tagging me in your picrews.
To my fellow lovers of WALL-E: @cosmo-naute, @ohthewhomanity, and @defineshitposting. Computer, define friendship- the love that we shared.
For folks like @hazed-miner, @tailsofairies, and @milliemakesmistakes. Thanks to all of you cube kids for liking my Minecraft: Story Mode stuff.
To @choupiee. Anybody who likes both Unikitty and MC:SM stuff is a friend in my book.
There are also more Unikitty fans I have to thank, including @glitzycatart, @passionatepinkkittynew, @lizatheeddsworldaddict, @theunikingdom, and @doomlordsbutfunni.
@keith-neil, thank you for your Unitober challenge! I had a great time participating!
@askthechronoverse, I've got you to thank for liking my posts, reblogging them, and asking questions on the Big Bright World blog. And, thanks for keeping the Unikitty and Lego Movie fandoms alive. It's come to the point where I consider you a true friend, Fabri.
And to all my other watchers who weren't mentioned here, thank you for watching me and sticking by me. I don't know how to end this, so I'm gonna say that life is weird.

I've been following your D20 recaps for a while (they are so much fun!), but Junior Year episode 9 compelled me to create an account for this ask.
Are Jace and Porter both baddies?
Spot got eaten by an owl right before finding Yolanda's body. Yolanda was presumably killed after reporting Kristen's concerns to Jace, and it was established in freshman year that he summons owls. And now the intrepid heroes are digging through the possible path of succession. Maybe he's just bored of doing nothing as the sorcery teacher?
Porter might be a normal shitty teacher, but I'm getting all kinds of bad vibes from his "rage as devotion to doubt" lesson. Maybe doubly so since Brennan brought up the divine taboo of siphoning off worship from one god to empower another? And of course, no word on who his paladin deity is! There may be another connection with Porter being an earth genasi, since Lucy was also a genasi but with giant ancestry.
Plus these were the two teachers talking to Arianwen post-prom, and Porter (knowingly?) infected Ragh with the Kalina plague.
This has gotten away from me. I think I need more yarn for my cork board.
Unrelated, but last thought: Since there's been all the questions about Aguefort by-laws and the literal vs. intended interpretation of the rules, I think it would be funny if Kipperlilly "found" the rogue teacher just by requesting a teacher conference.
First of all, making a Tumblr account just to send this ask? I'm flattered! Thanks for following my recaps!
Now, to your actual question let's talk teachers.
I forgot to put this in my recap but despite the fact that I don't actually have any read on what a motive might be, I did wonder if Jace might worth putting on the suspect list. I mean, he is the last person Yolanda said she was going to talk to before they found her body. And Brennan technically didn't say she wasn't killed by magic, he said there was no magical residue. Sorcerers do metamagic which can change spells and I wonder if Brennan would let something like subtle spell be flavored to not leave magical residue. Absolutely circumstantial and speculative, especially since, as I said before, there's no motive. But it's worth noting and he's def worth looking into/talking to as Yolanda's last mission before she ended up a corpse (RIP). And he did presumably become Principal with Grix gone so movement is happening around him.
(I don't remember the owl thing but that would be a deep pull from Brennan, haha. I got the sense that that was more about just Fig's bad luck but who knows?)
Porter I just talked about in another ask but the genasi thing is an interesting connection. Good spot. My read is that Brennan is playing Porter sincerely but, again, I can def see Brennan leaning into Emily/Fig's last two years of suspicion and making him an integral part of the plot just to pay that off--this is a season of payoffs after all. Either way, just like Jace, he likely has at least some useful info.
Re: Kipperlilly, That would be such a weasel-y way for her to have done that…which makes it entire in character. This is def a loose end I'm very interesting in the Intrepid Heroes following up on so I'm glad Murph/Riz is remembering to roll for it.
Anyway, all good notes! All of it is officially on the board! Can't wait to see what new info we get tomorrow and, now that you have a tumblr count, feel free to stop by my inbox any time :)

Fantasy Time: I’m still presenting male when we out shopping. Under my jeans are my thong, garter belt and stockings. Under my shirt is a bra no pads or forms today. I’m still paranoid someone will see the strap outlines from under my shirt so I have a light jacket too. You said I didn’t need to worry but I can’t help it, I trust you. You grab my hand as we walk inside, up the escalator sweetie we’re going to get you some new clothes. I nervously glance around hoping nobody overheard you. I see your smirk as you gently squeeze my hand and we head up.
Prom is coming up so the dresses are on full display at the top of the escalator. I don’t want you to see that I’m interested but you know I am. Don’t worry babe we’ll swing by later. We head over to intimates and you start poking around while I try to look as uninterested and scope out other customers. I breathe a slight sigh of relief and move closer to your position.
You already have a handful of various panties. Hold these I need to check the other tables and hand me your collection. I’m blushing a bit, excited and a bit embarrassed as we move between tables or various colors and styles. Grab a basket and meet me in the bras. As I turn to leave a woman walks up surprising me with a finding everything ok? Yep, yes just need a basket I guess. Let me help you honey. I follow her to the checkout and place the items in the basket she gives. Let me know if you need any help dear. Oh my god, does she know? She can’t know? Uh, thanks I reply adjusting my jacket she can see my bra. I just know she knows these are for me!
As I return to you in the bra section you already have various colors of pullovers bras you dump into the basket. Now for something to enhance your chest…. You grab at my chest to squeeze my non existent cup size. You already have Bs at home it’s time to bump you up to Ds. Beige, flowery, black it feels like too many. There’s four or five I try to look disinterested. Oh there not all for you, I think we need to match when we start going out. I swallow the lump in my throat, when… when’s this? Don’t worry I’ll take care of everything and nobody will really care or know.
What else did we need up here? Let’s get you a shorter skit and then a dress so you can look pretty for the Prom. Most of the skirts are long and not short enough for me you say. You always seem to find whatever you’re looking for and show me too very short skirts. Which one would you pick? The black one? I respond. Silly sissy you get both! Pink and black, you should be so happy. You’ll look amazing, trust me. I do, You toss them at me and I stuff them in the basket. It’s getting heavier but I don’t mention that I think it’s too much at once. I’m getting overstimulated thinking about what you have me wear tomorrow or even when we get home.
Another employee walks up to you this time. Looking for something special dear? Yes, in fact, a fancy dress. She responds, you seem too old for Prom. We’re going to have our own Prom with some friends that never made it back when we were all in high school. That’s a fun idea come to the back section that’s where most of the full size dresses that may work for you are. Thank you so much you replied. I followed feeling my skin start to warm at my neck. I’ll leave you two to it and men’s wear is down stairs if the gentleman needs to refresh his wardrobe too. I gave her a polite nod back as you thank her, we already have something planned for you to wear don’t we dear? All I can muster is an embarrassed nod.
She wanders off as you start hunting the racks, you always know what I need and I let you work. We both know we want you to dress me. It makes me feel warm when you pick out my clothes each day and you like the power that you retain over me. Flowery? Black? Off the shoulder? We bounce around the department and setting off a deep purple off the shoulder piece that I fee is too short for outside the house. How about this? Regardless of my answer I already know you’ve decided but I respond, I think my bulge will show? Then you need to learn to keep your legs together slut! I avert my eyes and nod. I can feel your gaze on me, yes mistress. You lay it over my hands carrying the basket, I think we’re done, your fishnets at home will look great with these.
We don’t go to the register up on this floor to my dismay. We head back down to the first level and head right up to the counter. Only a couple people in front of us waiting nobody behind. You size the opportunity and take ahold of my crotch. Ok baby momma’s got you a whole new wardrobe for you to try on when we get home. You’re going to model everything for me and if you dance well enough for me you can eat at your favorite place. You take one of my hands and place it in your crotch now be a good girl and pay. You give my behind a quick swat as i set the basket on the counter on our turn and make chit chat with the cashier the whole time. I’m expecting to assume she’ll assume they’re all mine but she doesn’t. I pay, say thank you and I grab the bags to move quickly to the exit. As we walk out the door you praise me, You did good in there honey but next time you are going to pick out the clothes and I’ll assist you in specifics, now let’s go get you redressed in something we’ll both enjoy!

Some Madeline gets super sappy on main below the cut 🥹
Tomorrow, I turn 28.
It's safe to say that 27 has been one of the best and biggest years of my life. I got married, I traveled, I started writing and posting on here, I got off birth control and turned into an uncontrollably horny mess OOPS met new friends, and most importantly, for the first time in a very long time, finally really felt like myself.
One of my favorite artists released this song yesterday (I'll put it down at the bottom), and the whole theme of the song is reflecting back on the way life used to be, and not taking the little things for granted as you grow up.
Mentally, I'm pretty sure that most of the time, I still think of myself as being 14 years old. It's hard to believe that I'm an actual adult, doing real adult things.
Fun fact about me, I've been dating my husband since I was that ripe age of 14. This year marks the first year I'll have spent half my life with my best friend, and thinking of all of the stages of life that we've been through together to get to this point really has me feeling a way. We've gone from being literal kids, going to prom together, going to college together, graduating, getting real jobs, buying a house, getting a dog, getting married and now thinking about having kids of our own. Having someone who's been by my side to watch how we've grown individually and together and has been there to cheer me on through it all is something that I'll never take for granted.
While I think there's a little part of me that will always still be that goofy 14 year old, the other part of me is so grateful that I have so much to look forward to in this next stage of life I have ahead of me. Most importantly, I think that little 14 year old version of me would be really proud of how the 28 year old version of herself turned out to be 🥺
Here's to all the things ahead in year 28, and all the things from 27 that have made me even more excited for whats to come 💛
Also if you've made it this far, you get to laugh at the little weirdos my husband were (and still are)

jungprom | jungwon
This post was inspired by that one tumblr user whose bff forgot to ask her to prom. Since Jungwon is a literal baby this is just cute and fluffy. There is a kiss at the end but it reads like a Disney channel original movie. Also I know nothing about prom or dress shopping except for what I’ve seen in movies so sorry for any inaccuracies. Jungwon, as always, is the most precious lil bean. Jake and Sunoo feature and Sunoo goes full Tan France. Hope u enjoy!!
Tumblr media
You are staring at your phone, trying to decipher the text you just got from Jungwon.
“Hi! What color is your prom dress?”
As far as you know, you are not going to prom. You never have been going to prom. You never even got asked to prom, you think to yourself, amused.
“I don’t have a prom dress,” you reply back. “Why do you ask?”
His reply is prompt. “Prom is this weekend, right? Why don’t you have a dress yet?”
“Because I’m not going?” you reply back, more confused than ever. “I didn’t get asked to prom.”
The typing signal appears -- Jungwon is texting back. “Did I forget to ask you” is all it says.
You gape at your phone. Pressing the call button, you hold it up to your ear, and Jungwon answers almost instantly.
“Uh, hi,” he says, his voice sheepish.
“Hi,” you say, trying to hold back a laugh. “You have some explaining to do.”
“So, I thought I had told you that I was planning on taking you to prom,” he says hesitantly. “But then I realized about thirty seconds ago I never asked you. I literally told everyone but you,” he adds, exasperated.
“Well, that sounds fun. I don’t have a dress, though,” you say.
“You’ve still got a couple days!” he pleads. “Please, I think it would be really fun if we went together.”
You try to ignore the butterflies that erupt in your stomach as he says this. As a distraction, you pretend to deliberate for a moment before agreeing. “Okay, I’ll be ready to go. What time are you picking me up?”
“Six!” he says. “Don’t forget to ask your dad.”
You roll your eyes, knowing full well that if your dad could trade you for Jungwon as a kid, he’d gladly do so. “Okay, I will. I’ll see you in class tomorrow.”
“Bye,” he says cheerily. “And sorry again!”
The call ends and you run downstairs to talk to your dad. “Hey,” you say as you enter his office, and he looks up and smiles at you.
“Hey, stranger,” he teases. “What’s up?”
“Jungwon called,” you say. “Apparently he forgot to ask me to prom, but I’m gonna go with him on Saturday if you’re okay with it.”
His jaw drops. “I absolutely love that idea. In fact, I think you should date him, go to college with him, and then marry him. Actually, I think I’m gonna tell him he can only take you to prom if he’s gonna marry you later.”
“Dad!” you shriek, blushing.
Your dad laughs at your discomfort. “So, do you have a dress?” he asks.
“No,” you admit, your cheeks still hot.
“Well, give me ten minutes and then we can go. Are you going to bring Jungwon with you to go dress shopping?” he asks hopefully.
“That might not be a bad idea,” you say. “Isn’t that bad luck, though?”
Your dad rolls his eyes. “No, that’s for when you get married. Jungwon shouldn’t see you in a wedding dress before then.”
You glare at your dad. “You keep making jokes, and I’m not even going to invite Jungwon to come.”
Your dad immediately sobers up. “Okay, okay,” he says, his tone placating. “I won’t do anything bad. Just call him.”
You do, and he answers promptly. “What’s up?”
“My dad wants to go dress shopping in like ten minutes,” you explain. “You could come and get your matching tie at the same time.”
“Great idea,” Jungwon says, “except I have Jake and Sunoo here right now.”
“Dress shopping?” you hear Sunoo say in the background. “We’re coming. She’s going to be the best-dressed person at prom or I’m not the person I say I am.”
There is a long pause. “Apparently Sunoo wants to come. Is that okay?”
“Bring them both,” you agree, smiling. “It’ll be way less weird than hanging out with just you and my dad.”
“I love your dad!” Jungwon says defensively.
“You love my dad, and my dad loves you, a little too much,” you sigh. “See you in ten.”
After collecting everyone, you head to the mall, and into a store that boasts a large selection of dresses that you had to look up on the internet to find. Jake’s eyes get wide as he takes in all the options, organized by color on seemingly endless rows of racks. “It’s so much harder for girls,” he realizes.
“Not if you do it right,” Sunoo instructs. “Now, darling, stay away from anything beige,” he tells you. “Or cheugy.”
You salute him, heading for the light blue rack. Jungwon follows you while your dad hangs back, talking with Sunoo and Jake. “I think you should look for something vintage-inspired,” he says, helping you look through the racks.
You look at him, impressed. “I didn’t think you’d have an opinion,” you tell him.
“Well, you’ll look pretty in anything,” he says, and he blushes a bit. “I just think that the vintage things you wear suit you really well.”
You can feel your face contorting into a shy smile against your will, so you pretend to concentrate on finding a dress. A shop worker comes to help, and within minutes you have a queue of dresses to try.
Sunoo is by far the most vocal critic, and as you step out in the first dress, a yellow number with daisies and tulle, he vetoes it almost immediately. “This is prom, not a garden party,” he insists.
He does the same with a green dress that hugs you tightly pretty much everywhere. “How are you expecting to dance in that?” he asks scathingly.
“I liked both of those,” Jake says, bewildered. “You looked really pretty in them.”
“You did,” Jungwon says, grinning. “There’s still a lot to try on, though. And I think Sunoo’s right that that dress will be hard to move in.
You roll your eyes and continue trying on dress after dress. You have it narrowed down to an emerald green dress with intricate pearl embroidery and a lavender dress with rosettes along the neckline before Jungwon sticks his hand underneath the changing stall with a frothy, floaty, light blue gown with a full skirt and puff sleeves. It is light, delicate, and poofy, and it has a slight shimmer to it. As you slip it on, you know -- this is the one.
You step out, and Jake starts clapping almost immediately. Your dad’s eyes are getting teary, and you almost start laughing. Sunoo is nodding in approval, but Jungwon is looking at you, and his eyes are wide and his mouth is slightly open and he is smiling in apparent awe.
He is the first to speak. “Wow,” he says simply.
“Wow is right,” Jake says. “This dress was made for you! You look incredible!”
Sunoo stands up. “An easy winner,” he declares. “I think we deserve ice cream after all this.”
“Thank you, guys,” you say. “I love it.”
You keep stealing glances at Jungwon. He cannot keep his eyes off you.
* * *
Prom night has finally arrived. You are a tiny bit nervous, but mostly excited -- but your dad is pacing around the kitchen, full of anxiety. Jungwon is two minutes later than he said.
“I told you, Dad,” you say. “He texted me five minutes ago that he was on his way, and he lives across town. He’ll be here.”
“What if something happens to him?” your dad whispers in horror.
“Dad, please,” you say, shaking your head. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
It’s less than five minutes later that the doorbell rings. Jungwon stands there, holding a bouquet of flowers, in a suit with a tie that matches your dress perfectly. His eyes go wide again as he takes in the sight of you -- hair done, makeup on, smiling at him. He impulsively takes your hand and twirls you right there on the doorstep. “Wow,” he says again, shaking his head. “You look...magical.”
“Magical?” you laugh.
“Beautiful,” he breathes. “Absolutely gorgeous.”
“Doesn’t she?” your dad interrupts. “I did her hair myself.”
“You did?” Jungwon asks, turning his wide eyes on your dad. “You did amazing! This is for you, by the way,” he remembers, handing the flowers to your dad. “You really earned them.”
“Thank you,” he says, proudly taking the flowers. “It took me three hours.”
“I’ll be back by midnight,” you tell him. “Have fun at home!”
“Have fun at prom! But not too much fun,” he says sternly.
As you leave the house, Jungwon takes your hand. “I’m really excited,” he says, his smile contagious.
“Me too,” you say. “You look amazing, too.”
He looks down at his black suit, complete with pearl cufflinks and white gloves. “Sunoo helped.”
“I figured. Where are we headed?” you ask.
Jungwon nods at the corner of the street. A limo is parked there. You look at him, aghast. “That’s for us?”
“Yes,” he says, and starts to jog with you over to it. He opens your door and makes sure your dress is all inside before climbing in next to you and sitting beside you.
There is a bouquet of small white flowers in the limo. Jungwon hands them to you. “I wanted to bring you flowers too, and I actually think they’d look kind of nice in your hair.”
“Really?” you say, touched.
He nods. “May I?”
You nod back. Jungwon plucks a couple, and places them carefully in your hair, giving you goosebumps. He turns you back around when he’s done. “They look pretty,” he says, folding his hand in yours again.
The limo ride is full of easy conversation between you and Jungwon, although you are trying to be normal about the fact that your best friend since childhood has grown to be so handsome, and here you are sitting beside him looking like this, and he is holding your hand. After about half an hour, the car stops.
“Where are we?” you ask, looking around. Unbeknownst to you, you’ve driven to the top of a small mountain, and have stopped at a restaurant.
Jungwon helps you out, places your hand in the crook of his elbow, and you walk into the restaurant, where he says, to your shock, “I have a reservation.”
You are seated on an outdoor terrace, overlooking the valley. The food is amazing, and as you eat, you enjoy the view -- although you’re much happier just because you’re with Jungwon. You talk and laugh and compliment the chef, and Jungwon pays for everything, making your eyes wide.
Then, it’s finally time for the dance. It’s loud and fun, and you see plenty of friends there. But your favorite part is when during a slow song, Jungwon takes you outside, to a quieter spot where you can just barely hear the music, and pulls you in close for a dance.
You rest your head on his shoulder, but you’re near enough that you can feel his heart beating. He has long since ditched his jacket and gloves, and the feeling of his bare hand in yours has the butterflies in your stomach going crazy. How did you end up feeling like this with someone you’d known so long?
The dance ends, and you load back into the limo, exhausted. Feeling brave, you lean your head against Jungwon’s shoulder again and close your eyes. To your surprise, he wraps his arms around your waist and leans against the side of the limo, closing his eyes, too. You drift in and out of sleep together on the ride home from prom.
When you finally arrive back home, Jungwon nudges you gently. “Wake up, sleepyhead,” he teases softly. “It’s time.”
You get out slowly, walking hand-in-hand, and he spins you one last time before you arrive at the porch. “I had a great time,” he says shyly, looking down at you.
“So did I,” you say, your smile so big your face hurts.
The silence that falls between you is heavy and fraught with unsaid words. Finally, Jungwon blurts out, “I have to tell you something.”
“Me, too,” you say in a rush. “You first.”
“No, wait, you first,” he says, confused.
“You first,” you insist, shoving his shoulder playfully.
“Okay, well, um,” he says, nervously playing with his cufflinks. “I don’t really know how to say it. I’m not great with words. But I guess I just wanted to let you know that I like you. A lot. Like, I like like you.”
You just look at him. He continues, looking a bit distressed. “I know we’ve been friends forever, and I know this might make things weird, but it’s almost our last year of high school, and I don’t think I could live with myself if I never told you.” He finally meets your eyes again, taking your hand. “I really like you, and I’d like to see if we could possibly work as something more than just friends.”
You touch his cheek. “You took the words right out of my mouth,” you say seriously. And he beams.
Taking a step closer, he leans in slightly. “Would it be okay if I kissed you?” he asks softly.
“Please do,” you say. He laughs quietly before closing the distance between you.
The kiss is sweet, soft, and perfect. When he pulls away, you cover your mouth with your hands. “I can’t believe we did that!” you squeal.
He laughs, full-bellied this time. He puts his hand on the other side of your face and kisses you again, deeper this time. “I can,” he says happily, brushing your noses together and kissing your forehead before putting his hands in his pockets.
Turning to leave, he stops at the bottom step and looks up at you on the porch. “Goodnight, my princess,” he calls to you, his voice just reaching you like the music of the slow song you’d danced to with him.
You go inside, watching him surreptitiously from the window. Before he makes it down your driveway, he does a fist pump. You laugh, and go to tell your dad what you’re sure he’s dying to hear -- that you and Jungwon are officially together.

Here again
Five Hargreeves x reader
Power: shapeshifter
Not really any warnings.
Thank you for anyone who read this. I’m not that good at writing, sometimes I am
————————
I hit the ground really hard and groaned. I saw I was in an ally way and it was night time. I saw a flash and tried to focus my eyes after that. I stood up and ran to the side of the road and look for anyone really
“Oh honey where are your parents?” I heard a woman’s voice say.
I turned to look were is was from and I saw a younger woman, maybe about late 20’s. She had cat eye glasses with a chain that wrapped around from the back to the other side.
“What year is it, and and where am i?” I asked as I walked over to me and she grabbed my by my biceps. she looked me up and down with wide eyes.
“It’s 1961 in Houston, Texas. Here let me take you home honey.”she started pulling me to walk with her. I was so in shock I just went along with it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I learned that her name was Cindy Russell and she was a high school teacher. She told me she was going to put an add in the paper to see if anyone was going to get you. After that she told me to take a shower and she would talk to me after that.
When I came out she was sitting in the living room smoking a cigarette and reading the news paper. After she saw me she put her cigarette out and asked me to follow her.
“Honey, we are going to put this add in the paper and if no one says anything in a week. I think I’m going to keep you here. We need to enroll you into school though. We will do that tomorrow. I’ve got clothes from my nieces and she looks about your size. For now just get some rest.” After that she walked out of the bedroom. It was a nice bedroom for the time. Was orange themed.
I started looking around to room and figure out what was going on and what day it was. I needed to find the others. I was flipping through anything I could find in the room. Not one thing about anyone. I looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it read 11:37 pm.
It was no hope. I cleaned up everything and went into bed. I turned off the light next to me and that’s when reality hit. I was alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No one answered for a week. You could have guessed. I’m now enrolled into school. We got some clothes that fit me. They really looked cute. I have met some new friends and I learned they live down the road from me.
After school we walk home together and laugh about whatever happened.
“Y/N, I heard that Steve was going to ask you out for Prom are you wanting to go? Stacy asked holding her books to her stomach.
I looked at the ground and smiled. I don’t really know if I want this our not. What about Five. I haven’t heard anything about him, or anyone matter of fact.
“I guess I am.” I smiled at her.
I walked up to the front door and waved her goodbye. I locked the door and sighed.
“Cindy I’m home!” I yelled but didn’t hear anything back. I walked into the kitchen and saw a note with some money.
I walked into the kitchen and saw a note on the counter. Cindy comes home early because she doesn’t have classes the last two blocks.
Dear Y/N,
There was a last minute meeting at the school. I have no idea when I will be back so I left some money for dinner and you can go buy something for yourself. My old bike in in the garage I called Larry to fix for you. Have fun!
Cindy.
Nice. I know where I’m going. The diner downtown. I walked into the garage and grabbed the bike. I had to money in a bag placed in the basket in the front and opened the door.
When I pulled up to the diner I saw a bunch of people yelling and throwing things. I wanted to know what was going on. I saw some people throwing food and stuff at the colored people sitting at the counter. I made my way through to see what was happening a little better. Wait… wait is that…..
“Allison?” I said next to her and she turned to look at me. Her eyes widen and I could tell she really want to hug me but she couldn’t.
“Meet me at Odessa at 8” she told me as she looked forward. I nodded my head and went to a different Diner around here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After I ate and looked around I headed home to see if Cindy was there yet.
“Cindy I’m back! How was the meeting?” I asked as I walked into the house.
I didn’t hear anything. That’s weird. I never heard of a meeting going till 7. I turned into my cat form and left the house for the night.
I was walking along the sidewalk when I heard footsteps right next to me.
I looked up and saw Klaus talking to who I think was Ben. He looked down and saw me and picked me up.
“Y/N, how have you been. Have you been living like this cat the whole time?” He asked holding me up.
I turned back and then he was holding like a baby.
“No Klaus, I haven’t.” I said annoyed that he was still holding me.
“You look good, like a real 60’s babe. Wait till Five sees you dresses like this. Thats beside the point, where- where are you headed?” He said putting me down.
I dusted myself off and looked back at him.
“To see Allison. What have you been doing all this time? When did you get here?” I asked him.
He put his hand to his head and groaned.
“Well now I’m running from the cult I made. I got here in like… when did we get here? I asked the air next to him.
“1960 is when we got here.” I nodded. “Got here about 1961. I live with a teacher and am about to be asked out for prom.” After I said the word Prom Klaus went crazy.
“FIVE IS GOING TO FILP SHIT Y/N!!!” He yelled. The second he said Five my eyes widened.
“You saw five!?” I asked.
After that we both heard a bell ring and saw Allison step out of her store. I grabbed his hand and dragged him inside.
Once we were inside I hugged Allison and looked around at everyone else in the room. I coughed and looked at that ground.
“Everyone this is my brother and sister Klaus and Y/N” Allison said to them.
I smiled and waved.
“We need to find the others. And figure out what is happening and how to fix it.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After talking for a while I looked at the time and saw that it was 11:30.
“I got to get home, I have school tomorrow and Cindy will worry. See you all around.” I said then walked out and turned to a cat and ran home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up to start another day in school. Stacy said today was the day. Steve is going to ask me. I wanted to look good when he did it so I put on a orange flower button up and a yellow pencil skirt. I put on some of the makeup Cindy had and was off to school.
“You look nice today. Are you excited for Steve to ask you?” She said as we walked through the doors and to our lockers.
“Why wouldn’t I be excited isn’t he like the most popular guy in school. I hope this isn’t some Carrie moment.” I said pull out some books I need.
She looked at me like I was crazy. “You’ll get it in like 20 years. I told her as I closed my locker and walked to class.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was lunch time and I was walking to my table with Stacy and Linda and we passed Steve’s table with all his friends. After we sat down I smiled at them and started eating.
After a while of talking and eating we saw Steve stand on the table.
“Can I please have everyone’s attention please!” He yelled with his hands cupping his mouth.
“I would like Y/N Y/L/N to come over here please.” I stood up and walked over to him very slowly not trying to look too excited.
“Will you go to prom with me?” He asked as he had his hand out. I took it and he pulled me up on the table.
Everyone clapped. Some girls rolled there eyes. His friends yelled and High fived him.
After that we all went to our next class and I waved Steve goodbye and walked with Stacy as we both jumped in joy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was the end of the day and we all were going home. I saw Steve outside leaning against a tree waiting for me. I told Stacy to wait and I walked over to Steve.
“What color are we going with babe?” I asked Miss. Russell for the house phone so we can talk more later.” He put his arm around my neck and pulled me into a hug.
I waved goodbye and started walked with Stacy.
As we walked I saw a car parked in front for my house and looked at Stacy.
“Go through the back door. Stay safe girl” then she walked away. I opened the gate to our backyard and walked inside.
I walked to my room and put my stuff down.
“Long time no see. Who was that boy you were talking to at school today?” I heard a familiar voice say behind me.
I turned around and saw Five leaning against the door frame. My eyes widened.
“Five I’m so happy you are back!” I yelled as I ran into his arms.
“You didn’t answer my question love, who was that.”
I looked up at him and smiled.
“He just wanted to know the answers for the homework. He is weird like that. I’m just glad you are here now.”
Want to know a fun fact about Ambrose? He learned to drive because Guidry took the time out of his busy schedule to teach him. Ambrose didn't want to ask his parents; he didn't want to spend time with them in a car because the boy knew he'll drive them off a cliff if he got angry enough. So, Guidry offered to teach him, and it was a fun experience with the man. Sometimes, Connie would take over whenever her husband was busy with work; it made Ambrose nervous. Yes, the woman's a foot smaller than him and looks extremely sweet when bonding with her children, but Ambrose made sure he didn't piss her off. Now, it's his turn to sit in the passenger seat and teach his girlfriend. Connie and Guidry are the main ones instructing her, but on busy days like these, Ambrose takes over for them. So far, Perry's doing a good job, but she's not paying attention to the road, and they almost hit a squirrel. They stop the car for a bit, Perry trying to get herself together after almost killing a squirrel, and Ambrose wondering what the hell's going on.
Tumblr media
Ambrose: *sighs* Okay, before we get into an accident, you need to tell me what's going on with you, doll.
Perry: *pouts* I was doing good!
Ambrose: *slight smile* Yeah, you're doing good, but I can tell you're not concentrating. What's wrong?
Perry: *sighs* I got in a stupid fight with Millie because I talked to Kurt. She thinks I meddled too much into the situation, but I only did it because I wanted to find out what was happening between them.
Ambrose: *nods* I understand. I know you weren't doing it because you wanted to be noisy or anything, but sometimes people want to do things themselves.
Perry: I get it, Rosie. I feel like crap, and we're all supposed to go prom dress shopping tomorrow, but I don't know what's going to happen.
Tumblr media
Ambrose: You're worried she's going to be mad at you forever, right?
Perry: *nods* Yeah, and I don't want that because we're all gonna go our separate ways soon, and I just don't want this stupid fight to end our relationship.
Ambrose: Meet up with her before you three go dress shopping and talk to her one on one about this. Besides, I think she's feeling the same way about this situation; it just got blown out of proportion for no reason.
Our teachers from the big city are still soo confused with the fact that we have prom
We were discussing about what everyone is gonna wear and of course some people are a little extra and the teachers are shocked like wow you'll wear what and the whole event is such a big thing and they're like 👁👄👁say what now
And someone was like "how do you do proms in Athens?"🤨
"We don't kids. The first time I saw this happening was last year when I came here."
Like, proms aren't a thing in Greece ajajsjs
I always knew that, but when I went to high school and saw proms happening I just accepted the fact, but we're really out of the norm here😭😂
The whole country: yeah we do normal school activities like reading boo-
My school in the middle of nowhere: hey yall free for a rehearsal of waltz tomorrow?
Also to clarify-cause this sounds expensive, it's not- I'm not going to a private school or something, and we do proms in order to save money for the school trip (πενταήμερη) our parents will pay the ticket in order to get in and sit around in the tables and watch all of us dance on stage while they eat while we also have a lottery thing going on and all of is will have fun at the event I guess
Also, the waltz/bachata/traditional(λαϊκά) dances aren't like provided by the school, we found teachers who supposedly were willing to teach us for free(but ended up asking for money anyway, but it's 5€ per kid so whatever...)And we do this in our free times in weekends or during breaks at school by ourselves, (the freshmen were kinda like the fuck? When we started dancing next to the volley field, But I think they got used to it by now)
#also the problem with the dance teacher is that she she doesn't do enough rehearsals with us#shes always canceling us#and kids are mad at her cause she said she didn't want any money from us but after we arranged everything she wanted payment#and we only picked her cause she said she would do it for free#but now shes both canceling us and wanting money so like?#the dance is in 22 days and we still dont have a choreography?#btw- forget whatever proms you're seeing on tv#'will you go to prom with me?' dramatic shit and then kings and queens... yeah no#yeah sure some of the couples are dating#some are going with random people#some (me) are going with their best friend cause they were also dancing together when they were kids and want to recreate the photo#some dudes have girlfriends in younger classes or different schools and dance with someone just bc they're close in height#some *cough* are doing it for the money while calling the rest of us poor *cough have some fun bitch*cough*#im dancing waltz btw💁‍♀️#i always thought it was like a rich thing but its pretty easy actually- well so far...#also not everyone is dancing. i think there are like 20? couples and some kids dancing traditional but a lot of people will just be there#enjoying the view i guess.we also dont have enough boys. i think girls are 10 more than them and as i said not even everyone is dancing so~#sugarenia prom#sugarenia school stuff#sugarenia teachers#sugarenia talks#sugarenia diary#sugarenia has family#sugarenia has friends#sugarenia#sugaroto
I've been in a storytelling/reading mood the last couple of days, and then I saw Goodreads also did one of those year in review things.
So. My 2022 list and some comments cause I feel like it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In horizontal and left to right order.
~
The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett
My first book of his and what a nice introduction it was. The world feels so alive and in constant motion, and even though there are characters and factions that have been introduced in other Discworld books, I never felt lost, just intrigued to learn more. Other than that, it's a book that felt like a love letter to storytelling and the human spirit.
Tomorrow Will Be Different by Sarah McBride
Keeping in mind that this written by a politician, with her own agenda and political alliances, I still found it a sincere tale of her transition, treatment and life. Her awareness of her privilege also feels sincere and the feelings with her body hit fairly close to home. As long as you remember her status, it's a good book.
On Being Different by Merle Miller
I treated this one as a history read, but to be honest, it didn't really advance my understanding of the period and then treatment.
Black On Both Sides by C. Riley Snorton
Not an easy book by any means. The writing can be tiresome and the subject is as heavy as can be. Still, I would definitely recommend it as a look on racism, sexism, US slavery and some stories of "early" (trans people have always existed, using early as in early-modern western world) trans people in the US. Good information.
Snuff by Terry Prachett
There's always this glorification of the harden policeman/detective, and being from a country where cops are... almost American, it's kinda hard to look past it and just enjoy the admittedly really good story. Still enjoyable, it is written wonderfully after all, just the underling message is not for me.
The Complete Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi (Kenji Tokitsu translation)
Read more due to curiosity than genuine interest in the philosophy/art, and it was... fine? I paused it many times, and only continued to see if it was worth it in the end. It... wasn't, not for me at least. Overhyped imo.
Dreadnought by April Daniels
Pretty good superhero book. The heroine is... alright, for a kid. And the fact and troubles that her being trans brings are used fairly well. A fun read.
Sovereign by April Daniels
No. Just... No. Possibly the worst sequel I've read in any story. Also not at all a fan of making the transfem heroine give in to anger and rage. It doesn't help that the prompt that helps the heroine realize she's being a grade A asshole is her loss of power and status, not an actual realization of the damage she has done. The worst book in this list, for both in universe and meta reasons.
She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen
Immediately shot to be one of my favourite books of all time, what with how fun and enjoyable it was. I might be a bit biased cause it was my first read of wlw romance, but it genuinely hit all the right spots for me.
An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris
Really interesting world and environments. The adventure was also pretty good. The romance was... bad. Not at all what I expected from a story like that, and it actually made me kinda annoyed.
Run Like Hell by Elliott Kay
DnD told from the "monsters" perspective. Very refreshing fantasy take with lovable characters and pretty good worldbuilding too. One of my non-5 stars favourites.
Loveless by Alice Oseman
What a damn good way to write an aroace character and show the pressure and thoughts someone a-spec can go through. Very, very good book. Hit really close to my heart, despite not being aro.
Nowhere To Run by Elliott Kay
Sequel to Run Like Hell, it comes with even more world building, more fun characters, a more holistic cause and just a damn good story.
You Should See Me In A Crown by Leah Johnson
Prom dance theme with gay. Good book, with lovely moments, just not amazing. Can't remember much from it to be honest, only that I enjoyed it.
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Never before had I read such a good depiction of grief and pain. One of the most powerful books I read, and one that had me regularly in tearing up and full on bawling at the end. Damn good work.
Her Name In The Sky by Kelly Quindlen
While drama is not my thing, this book is just the best. It's sweet, it's messy, it's scary, it's satisfying. It's the terror of understanding yourself and coming out. It's a damn good story.
~
This year was also the first one I managed to reach my yearly goal of 10 books (and broke over it with a total of 16). Which isn't a lot, but given that I read none in 2021 and 3 in 2020, I consider it pretty good.
So... yeah. That's that. 👍
