who smokes the biggest, fattest, nastiest blunts in homestuck?
john: he is from the suburbs. if earth b wasn't destroyed he would've smoked not only weed, but would've probably done shrooms as well. maybe even crack
rose: has definitely done weed but is now staying sober. not just to help with her alcoholism, but also because she gets extremely paranoid when she does and starts lighting candles everywhere to get rid of the smell and it's a literal fire hazard.
dave: talks the most shit but gets nervous and clammy when he's first handed a bong and it slips out of his shaking, sweaty hands and shatters into pieces all over the floor and no one offers him weed ever again
jane: doesn't touch the stuff because she "doesn't have the time for it" but the one time she decides to take a hit it has no effect on her at all and she gets extremely frustrated and takes a couple more, lies down, and then immediately enters the deepest, longest sleep of her life to the point that everyone else around her gets very concerned
jake: says he's never really been into drugs until someone informs him that the mushrooms he dug up behind meemaw's garden shed as a kid and ate to see funny movies in his head were, in fact, a form of drug
roxy: has actually never done weed and the one time she was given a bong has also dropped it with her sweaty gamer hands and had it shatter all over the floor
dirk: knows that weed could potentially help calm him down, let go of his hyper-vigilance, give relief from his constant self-inflicted anxiety, and help him achieve a state of inner peace. which is why he stays stone cold sober
all the trolls: they literally sleep in cbd slime
jade: snoop dogg

Proviso, the MVP of every Trading Post around, actually fills an interesting niche in Arknights worldbuilding.
Tumblr media
She has a unique position in the context of the overall Kazimierz narrative, a playable character that's neither a knight nor knight-adjacent but rather purely in the business side of things as a lawyer. Her introduction to the story gives another perspective to life in capitalist Kazimierz, particularly the dynamics of its industries.
In my reading, Proviso has always been an idealistic sort of person, but the capitalist ethos of Kazimierz and the way it treats justice had effectively shackled her from acting on her ideals. She's not really a "bad guy" if only rendered morally gray, because the system of justice and capitalism in Kazimierz puts much value to winning regardless of ethical cost. Her character struggle has been her being complicit to this system while trying to do right for the wrongs that she enables, ultimately being someone who works as a lawyer to make a living and, after which, to make amends.
This idealism is particularly represented in her OpRec, in the parts of the narrative regarding her thesis, which was recommended revisions in-universe:
But when the topic of "justice" is brought up, as well as when seeking any kind of deontological ethical foothold in Kazimierz's current legal system, we must consider the ever-encroaching, foundational influence that capitalism has on the values of the general public... —Excerpts from Deszcz's graduation thesis, "The Conflict, Reconciliation, and Imagined Future of Kazimierz's Present Legislature with Regards to Trade Capital"
Throughout her OpRec, her Vignette story, and character files, Proviso is frequently shown trying to do right for the people(s) that she essentially wrongs as the opposing counsel. Regardless, she willingly participates in the charade of due process because, of course, it's her job. Perhaps one can say that a particular effect of the Kazamierzan capitalist ethos is an emphasis on the value of winning and profit; and to make a living, Proviso is forced to comply to this system. This, of course, leaves her ultimately jaded in her life and in her beliefs.
The courtroom is a place of victory and defeat. Both sides submit their evidence, and their disputes are arbitrated within the confines of the law. I never expected to find any justice in that process, but when the law can be freely trampled on by capitalism, being a lawyer gets real boring, don't you think? —Proviso, Talk after Promotion 2
It can be said the Proviso herself is a victim of the capitalist structure of Kazimierz, as she effectively feels forced to compromise on her ideals. As she represents and pursues victory for perhaps less-than-noble entities, what she can only do is find her own ways to make up for it after the fact as seen in her files and stories, where she donates her earnings (Archive File 2) and she gives a tip to the opposition through means that could get her disbarred (Vignette). Nevertheless, she is not blind to her own nature and how what she enables is ultimately not a noble, "proper" justice. Here are two separate conversations in her vignette that show this self-awareness:
Młynar: I don't need to hear yet another story of a lawyer seeking to right the world's wrongs. Deszcz: Righting the world's wrongs? I certainly wouldn't say that... This is just my job.
and
Deszcz: And here I was thinking a well-intentioned lawyer representing these poor villagers would look down on a firm that specializes in corporate clients. Hamm: No, I've never thought like that... A lawyer's job is to fight for their clients, no matter who they are. There's nothing I can say to that. Deszcz: Even if it's to help large corporations squeeze out innocent and helpless civilians? There's no justice in that, is there?
Her joining Rhodes Island was a significant development to her character—it reflects a change within her from being resigned and complicit to the status quo, to instead desiring to be part of something bigger that has more tangible power to affect systemic change, being in a better position to act on the justice she holds. Her character doesn't actually develop much beyond this due to her latest appearance in the chronology being her vignette, which should be prior to her joining RI, and that's fine. Her still being a meticulous, rules-lawyering victory-at-all-costs woman stays true to her character within the context of the narrative—she was a lawyer within the ruthless, capitalist Kazimierzian justice system, and her position as a lawyer within the concept of due process meant her duty was to represent the legal rights of a person or entity, regardless guilt and morality. This time, though, she is working for a company that, in her eyes, is trying to do good and would be a better platform for her to act on her ideals.
Another interesting tidbit: stars were a particularly consistent symbol used in stories and writeups related to Proviso's character. To enumerate:
In her character files, she mentions giving up her old job in Longrein because "she saw the stars"
In her Vignette story (which is literally named Only the Stars), she wonders where the stars of Libra are. This is likely the actual point in time for the previous bullet.
In her OpRec, she says, "No one can see the stars above until all the neon lights are turned off."
There's a strong argument to say that the stars are representative to the sense of justice and ideals that she had lost. This symbolism also works with her line in her OpRec, as the very neon lights of the Kazimierz skyline had polluted the skies and leave no stars to be seen, which is a clear metaphor for how the capitalist nature of Kazimierz had devoured the justice she had once stood for. It is only after the events of the Kazmierz Major (throughout Maria Nearl and Near Light) that she finally saw the stars again, gaining an interest in RI and inspired to live her life anew.

ASTRO NOTES (LINDA GOODMAN)
My favorite quotes from linda goodman about the signs taken from her book SUN SIGNS (PART 1)
ARIES: Actually, Aries kids can learn anything in no time, never forget it, and zip through school like the wind, if they apply themselves. But not all parents know how to achieve it. It is possible that they spend years wondering why Miguelito and Margarita get such a high IQ on tests, and yet they have been in third grade for four years now. They don't need to worry too much, however, because Miguelito and Margarita will make up for lost time with the speed of a bullet, as soon as they get out into the world and realize that people are more alive than they are. A couple of humiliations, and the ego of a Martian will drive them to such an effort that they will jump several rungs in one jump.
GEMINI: his true character, despite his superficial cordiality, is lukewarm, withdrawn and ultimately lonely; Although he often seeks company, what he is really after is something that is inside him. However, he is not surly. His way of being can be warm and compassionate, but at the same time he offers his sympathy and understanding in the same way that he offers love and friendship: from a distance.
VIRGO: The fresh, green jade and the purity of platinum are the complement of him and what brings him luck. But Virgo's good luck is always followed by five kinds of loneliness, and the call of duty is never quite silent in his heart.
LIBRA: Not even Solomon in all his wisdom could overcome the final balance of a typical Libra decision. What he has no inclination to consider the personal nuances or emotional tangles that may lie below the surface. He is enough with the facts and he does not need more. In his judgment, the deep insight into character that a Pisces, Scorpio, or Aquarius might display would cloud the clarity of the picture he sees. He instinctively feels that those psychological depths are not his line, and it is true.
AQUARIUS:She Every once in a while she'll come off the hook with a surprisingly moving line. If you ask her what he thinks of space travel, she will answer: "When I was little, I believed that the stars were holes in the sky, through which light passed." But if she's in a different mood, when you tell her you're sad to see that melting snowman, she'll reply, "That's just sentimental nonsense, Charlie." First romantic, then practical; first shy, cheeky later. The Aquarius woman will ruthlessly mock flying saucers, only to later tell you that she has seen a gnome dressed in red dancing on the windowsill.
TAURUS: don't be fooled by the good disposition of Taurus or his compliance with his superiors: it is not easy to take him ahead. The Bull has a kind of Machiavellian detachment towards those who believe they are manipulating him, which allows him to deal with them with tact and subtle diplomacy. But if he looks closely, you'll see that he has a sly expression on his face and a sideways glance as he humors these aggressive people who try to lead him where they want. Ultimately, the Bull will get his way, and his success is further ensured by his ability to wait as long as it takes to win over the hasty. However, when his personal emotions are trampled on or his deep pride is hurt, his calm may disappear, and be replaced by childish stubbornness.
CANCER: They're not the kind of limelight people like extroverted Leos or clowning Sagittarius, but Cancerians have a terrifying sense of publicity, when it comes to being noticed. Don't be fooled by that apparent modesty. They secretly like attention, and will be intoxicated by whatever headlines they can get. You won't find Cancer pursuing fame with a passion (there's nothing he pursues with true passion), but rest assured, he won't run from it either. It will be easier to see him warming up to the heat of the applause than running away from them. There may be things that Cancer hides from, but recognition is not one of them.
LEO: Leo is extremely cunning, in many ways. It will be rare to see him waste energy trying to extract water from a depleted well, as Aries often does; he is therefore an excellent organizer and wise distributor of obligations. His commands are surprisingly effective when he controls the dramatic effects, for the Lion can be a master of the art of simple and direct speech, even if he sometimes smacks of theatrics. He freely and openly expresses his approval, and his flattery can be so exaggerated as to confuse one.
CAPRICORN: one day, your little Capricorn will comment like who doesn't want the thing that he wants to go to school early to call roll. "And why do you have to call the roll?", you ask. The answer will astound you. "Oh, I'm just class president." When you want to know why he didn't tell you, he'll reply with careless modesty, "Wow, it's not such a big deal." However, he will be flushed and satisfied: it will be his adult life style of behavior.
PISCES he is a mystic at heart, and secretly believes in the invisible and the supernatural, although he may be a little ashamed of it. He will not practice any voodoo rites at his desk or meditate in the lotus position next to the refrigerator, because he fears ridicule if people discover the undercurrent of his psychic vibrations. But they'll find out anyway, even if he tries hard to play the hardcore royalist.
SAGITTARIUS Most of the time, the typical Sagittarius is happy and gregarious, but his temper can go off like a rocket if he feels hassled by people who abuse his naturally friendly ways or get too close to him. Rebellions against authority and against an oppressive society are also common. Sagittarius will never dodge the bulge in the face of a fight or a request for help. Women are capable of losing their normally agreeable disposition to attack with the barrage of an unexpectedly serious speech that puts the impertinent in their place. Men will use their fists, disdaining weapons. It is not uncommon for the rude and insulting person who has played on Jupiter's good nature to find himself sprawled on the sidewalk, wondering where that change came from.
SCORPIO It is impossible to surprise them. Or rather, it is possible to surprise them, but it is not possible to detect it in the Scorpio's tone of voice, words or change of expression. There are two reasons for this; a) They are precognitive enough to guess anything ahead of us; b) When you catch them unawares, their factions are alerted, even though they are not. Scorpios take the fun out of everything. They make very unsatisfactory guests of honor at surprise birthday parties. Somehow the spark of spontaneity will be missing.

I swear to God, every time they switch to Jing’s narrative, it becomes some sort of cross between Gaskell and Bronte and I am here for it!
I loved the Frightful Fiancee showing up and life draining out of Jing’s eyes (because he’s terrified every time will be too much for XY and she will end it) but also XY is jealous, awwwww! The thing is, she is only truly in any measure a young woman around and because of Jing and this includes being jealous and vulnerable. I kinda love it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oblivious friend toasts to the “happy couple” and I love that he refuses to drink and when evil fiancee says she will drink for him, fights her for the cup. I think he’s gonna embroider a banner, “I don’t want you” and carry it around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s so fed up he gets up to leave and she’s clutching. Good Lord, lady, come on!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Afterwards:
Tumblr media
He literally shoves her off. At Jing level of niceness and manners, it’s equivalent of punching her in the face while calling her a dozen filthy words. Heh.
Tumblr media
The more it goes on, the clearer the female-coding on his character becomes. Not just that all his issues are family rivalry related inner house stuff or that he’s the nice one winning the jaded/damaged OTP through devotion and niceness but even here with the fiancee. The narrative of someone who does not want the arranged partner who keeps chasing them is usually given to women; who also cannot directly tell the other party to fuck off and have to politely navigate while giving public hints and perhaps in private being clearer, but still bound to be polite and not go beyond certain boundaries set by arbitrary society however dumb they may be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His lines are 100% what a FL would say and navigate.
This said, I continue to be impressed how he doesn’t come across as in the least feminine. It’s quite a balancing act. But so much of this narrative is so well done. Just like her three suitors are reflections of parts of XY’s self and future potential paths. They all went through varieties of trauma and if Cang Xuan is a reflection of her potential darkest path and the damage of her damage, the Vamp Boy is her mirror - he is very much where she is now or at least in the beginning of the story, if it makes sense, and 17 is embodiment of hope that you can go through horror and emerge into hope - choosing him is ultimately choosing the possibility of her best self. I love that so much.

Flanderization is the process in which a complex, fleshed out character gradually gets reduced to one or two traits through oversimplification. While present in varying degrees across certain Choices series, Flanderization is most present and potent in The Royal Romance/Heir/Finale.
Pre-Flanderization
MC: A newcomer to court who’s hella oblivious but incredibly resilient and willing to go out of her comfort zone for her friends. She is fiercely independent and free-spirited, something that each character she meets in Cordonia comes to respect her for. She has her silly and ditzy moments, but she's usually good at behaving in a relatively civilized manner when she needs to be. She is no stranger to hard work, and this greatly helps her adjust to courtly life.
Liam: A crown prince and eventual king as of book two who longs for freedom while also grappling with his role in the monarchy. He CONSTANTLY struggles with his desire for freedom and levity versus the leaden weight of the crown, though his sense of duty usually wins out in these internal battles. More than anything, even his own longing for freedom and independence, he wishes for the safety of his people and the prosperity of Cordonia.
Hana: A prodigy who has been forced into rigorous classes on etiquette and courtly skills since young childhood. She is remarkably talented, though incredibly humble, and is always happy to help teach others when they need assistance. She is very meek and doesn't like confrontation, and often struggles to stand up for herself, but ultimately grows stronger and more confident as the story progresses, eventually even standing up to her demanding parents. Ultimately, she wishes for the agency to choose her own path, whatever that may be.
Drake: A commoner who has long struggled with his place in the Cordonian court, regardless of his friendship with the prince and his father's service as a Guardian of the Realm. He is gruff and jaded from his negative experiences and poor treatment by nobles and royals, which only worsens when his sister disappears. He fears the prince will eventually forget about him, or worse, will be embarrassed by him, because he is merely a commoner. He is teased by his friends for his lack of courtly knowledge but does eventually take time to learn courtly customs for the sake of the prince's image. Regardless of these fears and his bitterness, he is a loyal friend with a heart of gold and a healthy dose of humility.
Maxwell: A younger brother to the Duke of Ramsford who feels he is a screw-up and believes he is rightfully overshadowed by his much more responsible brother. He is carefree and fun-loving and sometimes a little absent-minded, but he has moments of wisdom and true helpfulness sprinkled throughout. He is goofy when the occasion calls for it and is always happy to indulge in a wild party, but can just as easily embody seriousness and solemnity when need be.
Olivia: A catty duchess who clings to the prince as a result of his kindness to her during the most traumatic time of her life as a small child. She is devious, two-faced, and extremely petty, often starting arguments or going for low blows just because she can. She is not used to people standing up to her, which ultimately mellows her out, though she is still aggressive at times. Particularly pressing situations let her fierce loyalty to king and country as well as her competency in combat shine through despite her initial struggle with her identity as a Nevrakis, who are known for their betrayals and scheming.
Post-Flanderization
MC: Constantly flies by the seat of her pants and somehow makes it through the most dire situations unscathed. Her silly side stops being silly and starts being unapologetically idiotic. Of course, despite her bumbling nature, she's still seen as a dangerous threat by the Via Imperii, a top-secret society that has ruled parts of the world for over two millennia. (Flanderization began in TRR book 3)
Liam: Primary trait is his sense of duty to his kingdom and his people, yet his ability to rule and prevent chaos and upheaval is terrible. He has no competence to match his promises to his kingdom. (Flanderization began in TRH book 2)
Hana: She is still remarkably talented, but the extent of her talents grow to be utterly unrealistic. She also occasionally has instances of incredibly dark or violent dialogue that in no way fit with her character ("I'm sorry Olivia, I only kill when absolutely necessary") that really throw the reader and sometimes even the other characters off. (Flanderization began in TRH book 1)
Drake: Still gruff and jaded and grumpy but to a slightly higher degree. He is also clowned on and made into a meme by his friends and the Cordonian public. (Flanderization began in TRH book 1)
Maxwell: Loud, annoying, obsessed with parties and dancing, clumsy as hell, and almost comically self-absorbed. (Flanderization began in TRR book 2)
Olivia: Much more frequently aggressive, constantly goes on about knives, hidden blades, and spy missions. She is still loyal to king and country, but her personality has been reduced to that of a human weapon. (Flanderization began in TRH book 1)

One idea that seems to be spreading amongst Homestuck fans for the newest upd8 and for why Rose has devolved into this jaded nihilistic and surrendered personality is because she never really grew as a character from the retcon.
It’s a nice idea and way better for Rose’s character than just “Vriska fixed everything.” Rose was incapable of learning how to fight an addiction or control her impulses. As a seer of light she can now see the best possible outcome and can use it to manipulate people to get what she thinks is the inevitable event! She can’t fully understand or regulate her ability and has submitted to it, doing what she sees with no ability to change the causes for the effect.
Same with Jade, she never got to socialize with John or learn human interaction or social skills with Davesprite and Nannasprite. She just stayed on a ship alone for 3 years and just met all her friends after their Sburb session after [S] Collide! On earth C she never thought about training herself to understand when someone does or does not consent to her advances and allows herself to be this eternally teenage girl in an adult body.
Dave and Karkat also don’t rectify their feelings and just watch romcoms and argue with each other. All the beta kids and beta trolls had their changes undone for a sweeter and simpler hiatus before executing the perfect plan and winning the game, skipping over character growth.
This was the results of the retcon, this was John’s ultimate sacrifice. Win the game and defeat the ultimate evil only for all his friends to degredate and relapse into their worst behaviors. John gave the universe cancer, not because he rushed the frog breeding oh no, it’s because he destroyed the time loops needed to create Lord English and replaced them with his own stable time loops, which still create Lord English on Earth C, because Lord English is the cancer.
And John did such by saving Vriska, making her the hero to defeat LE, make Dave fight Lord Jack and let Davepeta defeat LE, when it was a hero of hope and time destined to defeat him, not a sprite that’s half time half heart, and a page who knocks him out. Vriska broke the destiny, she also gave Earth C cancer.
There is only one way to solve this.
John and Vriska go on a HUMAN DATE and SMACK THOSE LIPS TOGETHER IN TRUE MATESPIRITSHIP
Wouldn't it technically be TEREZI'S FAULT since she was the one who instructed John to do all this. So technically, the blame is also on her. I can't believe that blind bitch made things worse just because she wanted spider pussy. She really was perfect for Karkat because they both infected the universes and fucked them up. To be a bit serious, I'm not sure if it would be because of John's Post Retcon actions. How will Meat be any better if this shit is happening to Candy? How will John get brought back for Meat by Terezi? Will John in Candy fuse his mind with Meat Trans June once she's brought back? I'm not sure what copium some people are on to think the update was the result of that, cause I'm still on the side of no hopium for Beyond Canon.

Okie, I just finished the show. Maybe a hot take, but I thought it was solid. The ending being good is debatable (I definitely wanted more than what we got) but the characterization of everyone was absolutely solid. Nine was a fantastic antagonist. He's intelligent, troubled, selfish, clingy, lonely and self destructive, just as much of a danger to others as he is to himself, but very much sympathetic and understandable of a character. He feels like such a younger version of Shadow who is still so angry at the world, willing to tear them all to pieces to achieve his goals because they've never ones shown him kindness at any point in his life, leaving him with no kindness to give to others as a consequence. But he has a love for technology, self esteem issues, remorseless sass and a genuine attachment to Sonic, however dysfunctional it was. He's fundamentally Tails, but so warped and jaded that he feels like a refreshingly new character. Same goes for everyone else. No version of each character felt the same. Their personalities all felt unique to them and their character growth felt rewarding. And I have very unexpected attachment to Black Rose. I love every Rose here, but she out of them all felt so much like the old Amy with her unfiltered insanity, chaotic energy, readiness for violence and disrespect, overwhelming passion and leadership and compassion for those who look to her for strength that I utterly adore her. And she's a PIRATE for God's sake! Let her be free! Let her go wild! Let her go absolutely batshit and unhinged the way only Amy can!
Prime Shadow is absolutely one of the best versions (and my personal favourite) of Shadow we have-- his voice acting, his personality perfectly hitting the middle between being too cold and being too caring, not too edgy but not too soft, still a snobbish and harsh motherfucker who preferably acts alone and sucks at getting his point across without sounding callous but ultimately well-intentioned and trying his best to protect the people and world he cares for while not being prideful enough to reject the help of others to achieve that (and actually willing to run when he knows he can't win for now.) Something I missed about Shadow was his empathy and care for others while acting like he doesn't mean anything, and it really shined during his time with Sonic. He was pissed to hell about what Sonic did, and rightfully so, but he knows when his anger contributes nothing of worth to their situation and is able to stay rational and logical for both their sakes. And even in his anger, Sonic's remorse about everything was enough for him to calm down, taking a softer approach with him than he normally would've. He's--UGH. HE'S SO GOOD. I LOVE SO HIM MUCH. Like, I really like IDW Shadow, but Prime Shadow is just built different.
I really appreciate what the show did with all of them and even tho I would've liked a bit more for the finale I do like how Sonic's arc came full circle with him learning to listen and be more appreciative of his friends. While there were definitely some glaring issues with s3, and there are some things where I'm like ''WHY??'' (more on that later), but the story was great, the characterisation was incredible, the animation felt very bouncy and energetic, and overall it was a very fun show and exciting journey I loved every step of the way. Not just the show, but all the incredible fan works that was made along the way are absolutely priceless. I'm really glad this show was made.

So I have some thoughts about Sorsha.
Her actions as both a queen and a mother make a lot of sense to me based on her past.
It was not okay that she kidnapped Jade (and presumably other Bone Reaver children) from their families. She didn't understand that the Bone Reavers were slaves of Galladoorn who were working for Bavmorda because she said she'd free them afterward. She didn't realize the Bone Reavers were now a peaceful people living freely in the woods. I think she possibly thought she was rescuing children from the very people she had to fight against. This doesn't excuse her actions, but I do understand her (false) reasoning.
The way she spoke to Willow also isn't okay. I think she was trying to protect Elora from danger, especially considering how her mother would thrust her into it, forcing Sorsha to do her bidding. I think that to Sorsha, raising Elora to train and risk her life for the world felt too similar to what she had endured at the hand of her own mother, so she fought to protect Elora. Snapping at Willow and telling him he'd never be a great sorcerer, I think, was the only way she knew how to keep Elora safe from her destiny. And that sort of verbal attack was probably a watered-down version of how her mother talked to people. Again, not an excuse, but understandable reasoning.
Her treatment of Airk and Kit was also not okay. Verbally attacking Airk the way she does, forcing Kit into a marriage, and telling Jade to let Kit win rather than allowing Kit to actually be trained in combat were all not great Mom Moments. But I ultimately think she was trying to keep her kids safe and the future of Tir Asleen in good hands. She just didn't know the best way to do that.
Ultimately, Sorhsa is abused and manipulated by her mother until she finally joins the good side. Within like 48 hours of joining the good side, she is made both Queen of Tir Asleen and Adoptive Mother of Elora Danan, arguably the most important person in the world. I'm sure that as happy as she was, she was also just as, if not more so, terrified. She now has to be both a mother and a queen, two things her mother did horribly. And then, five years later, Madmartigan disappears, the person who is perhaps her only confidant and advisor, let alone her lover and partner. So she is left to rule a kingdom, raise her heirs, and protect Elora all on her own, with the only blueprint she ever had in her life on how to do any of that being the Evil Queen Bavmorda.
No wonder Sorsha makes the terrible mistakes she did. But she's not a bad guy. She's trying her best. And I think she realizes it when she sends Kit to go rescue Airk. She realizes that the way she'd been doing things wasn't the best way to do them. So even though she still tries to keep Elora safe within palace walls, and she tries to order Jade to keep Kit safe and under control, I think she also tries to give Kit that adventure that her daughter has always wanted, even though the idea of sending the future queen of Tir Asleen and her beloved daughter terrifies her.
Sorsha always tries. Even when she has no idea what to do and she makes very grave mistakes. She always tries. Just like Willow, Boorman, Kit, Airk, Elora, Graydon, and Jade. They all make mistakes, but they continue to try. And I think that's one of the beautiful themes of the show.

Thoughts on Ankka and Mai Trin aaaand Ivan for Qirri ' v ' @jaded-cactus
Ask My OCs Opinions on NPC
Qirri and Ankka have a fascinatingly tumultuous relationship. They don't hate each other, but there's a sort of healthy amount of unease, and Ankka makes it clear she doesn't think Qirri really has what it takes to survive on her own out there. Ultimately, though, what Qirri saw was someone who felt stifled, like she couldn't go anywhere, and sought more and bigger things to scratch that itch. Someone just like her. In the end, she sacrificed JUICE's functionality and was unable to join Garrus in the final fight against Soo Won because in the fight with Ankka, she refused to let her die, saving her life in exchange for her own freedom of movement, however temporarily. They've started becoming something like friends.
Mai Trin is an odd case. Qirri wasn't present during season one, since she had returned to Rata Sum to finish college and compete in the Snaff Savant competition (ultimately winning that year's challenge). Her first encounter with her is during the events of End of Dragons, and at first it's clear she's distrustful. The more they talk, however, and the more Mai clearly shows she's not really as rough as everyone insisted, they started to bond. Mai was clearly very smart, and if it hadn't been for what happened in the reactor, Qirri was fully intending to offer her a place in the Dragonwatch Krewe once everything was said and done. She was devastated by what happened... it wasn't like watching Sieran die again, but it still hurt.
Ivan is one hundred percent Qirri's favorite guy outside her circle. He's funny, dedicated, loyal... and most importantly, from the minute he meets her and the rest of the Dragonwatch Krewe, he doesn't talk down to any of them. Instead, he readily treats them as superiors in a way, and while Qirri doesn't take advantage of that, she thinks it's interesting how he'll help out whenever he's not working with the remnants of the Aetherblades loyal to Mai. He's been very wary/suspicious of Ankka's survival, feeling like she doesn't deserve it if Mai is dead, but Qirri's charm (and some other events regarding Mai Trin) have helped him come around.

Lonely Sami
Tumblr media
The opening segment featured Sami Zayn as he talks about being on his own now that Kevin Owens has been traded to Smackdown for Jey Uso. The Judgement Day came out to beat up Sami, until Jey makes the save. The main takeaway is that Sami is frustrated because Jey has a friend, a tag team partner, and the tag team belts; all that Sami once had.
Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura fought in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Wade Barrett stated on commentary that this will be Ricochet’s playground and it was exactly that. There was an INSANE spot where Ricochet did a shooting star press off a balcony and onto Nakamura. Ultimately Ricochet lost, but for some time I thought, maybe, just maybe he may pick up a victory.
Natalya took on Piper Niven in a short and awkward match. Piper won and Tegan Knox came to the save in post-match beatdown.
The story between Seth Rollins and Drew Mcintyre advances as Seth tells Drew to get over his past defeats and move forward. Drew can’t, but wants to prove he can beat Rollins without getting screwed over. Later Drew crosses paths with Sami and tells him he shouldn’t be forgiving Jey so easily and with that happy-go-lucky attitude he won’t ever become World Heavyweight Champion. Sami reenforces what Seth told Drew; that he needs to get over the Bloodline. This ends in a challenge for next week as Sami will take on Drew.
Ludwig and Gargano had a good match but ended due to shenanigans. More followed during the Rhea Ripley and Shayna Baszler match, which was quite good with some hard-hitting strikes until Nia Jax, Zoey Stark, Raquel Rodriguez all got involved in an outside brawl. This eventually ended the bout in a DQ. New Raw GM, Adam Pearce made a five-way at Crown Jewel. I have a feeling it will be a short match full of finishers with Rhea winning.
Jade Cargill made another appearance as she was about to challenge Becky for the NXT title, but Lynch told her to get in line. Cargill still has no destination, but I like what is being done here by having her turn up and mix it a little with different talent. This gives us – the audience – a barometer to measure chemistry.
I hate ‘’yeet’’.
Gunther – to no surprise – retained his Intercontinental Championship. The matched had a lot of chopping with a very impressive powerbomb delivered from Gunter on Bronson Reed to end the match.
The main event was an interesting one as Jimmy Uso interfered, costing Jey and Cody Rhodes the belts. Prior to this, Damien Priest put Cody through the announce table and Dominik Mysterio was getting involved quite a bit. It seemed like our champs didn’t have a chance here. I guess Drew was right about not leaving the Bloodline in the rearview mirror.
This was a better show than Smackdown, but we need more clean matches with a winner. I didn’t mind the tag team titles being dropped. I think Cody needs to go back to being solo and we need to see what main event Jey can do outside of being a tag team, although he has Sami if they don’t have anything for him to do.

*sips tea* WHY, HELLO THERE
I am here to inquire about your writing! (I just want to give you an excuse to make a tumblr post about it because you're an amazing writer)
Who's your favorite oc and why?
What two characters do you think have the most interesting dynamic together out of the ones youve written?
What tropes do you use the most?
Do you have any ocs you think youd get along with irl? Any you think you'd hate irl?
ALSO...CAN I MARRY ORPHEUS??? (and eule i love them both)
WHY, HELLO TO YOU AS WELL
thank you for inquiring about my writing!! it means a lot seriously
i am so so sorry i didn’t answer this sooner i literally did not know that there was a inbox until today sobs
well anyhoo questions
1) who’s your favorite oc and why?
my favorite oc at the moment is levine. mostly cause depressed doctor with a missing inventor childhood friend, who disappeared after a morally wrong experiment, but then the subject of that experiment appears at his doorstep and what tf is he supposed to do now.
plus i just like his personality (me saying he’s quiet and hates interacting with people just like me frfr)
ok but on the legitimate side of things
levine tends to portray himself as a misanthrope who dislikes spending time with others, but in reality he uses it as a mask to cover up the fact that he doesn’t actually hate people, rather he ends up caring too much, so he just withdraws.
he pretends to be the first option, but ultimately he’s a bleeding heart disguised as a cynic. yes, he’s bitter and somewhat jaded by certain events, but that doesn’t stop him from feeding the scrawny cat on the side of the road or taking in a child? automaton? person? that was left to him.
plus his relationship with childhood friend aka local crazy woman camille who is his exact opposite is fun to write
2) what two characters do you think have the most interesting dynamic together out of the ones you’ve written?
hmmm out of the characters that i’ve written so far the relationship between yuna and neva is probably the most interesting to me, seconded by marion and cinna.
in yuna/neva’s case it’s the mixture of childhood-friends-turned-reluctant-enemies-but-not-really, and the thing about their vibe that i like is that they just keep making each other worse. they love each other, they adore each other, but they also hate and despise each other, and whenever one falls it’s inevitable that the other follows.
yuna is usually the one to take the first downward plunge, without any hesitation, and she always looks back at neva like “are you coming?” —and neva always looks at her, and something inside her whispers that this is wrong, she shouldn’t be doing this, but another part says yes this feels good, and enjoys the thrill, and it’s that side that wins over like all of the time.
because when it comes down to it yuna just does what she wants in the moment, without much regard for the future or the people around her. maybe a different person could reel her in, or clean up her messes, or tell her hey this is wrong, but that person will never be neva. neva is kinda apathetic to both life and people, she’s just plodding through life. yes, she has a better moral compass than yuna, but she’s not pressed enough to follow through on that bit of conscience within her and stop what they’re doing, so everything usually just spirals and spirals until it explodes.
that was basically them in their teenage years, and when the story starts as reuniting adults, the pattern just. happens again but on a larger scale. i told you they’re my toxic lesbians and i love themmmm
3) what tropes do you use the most?
erm i would say that i use “childhood friends” AKA “knew each other in youth” wayyyy too frequently. also a sucker for the parental figure and traumatized child relationship
4) do you have any ocs you think you’d get along with irl? any you think you’d hate?
i think that i’d get along with eurydice (wow i should probably rename her) mostly because she’s a chill lady, runs a tea shop. i’d like to get a drink from her and just relax. i also think i’d get along with doll but let’s be real, doll gets along with like 99% of the people they meet. they are my sunshine porcelain automaton child. (i coparent with levine.)
erm i would probably dislike hanging around yuna, enough said about that. i kinda want to say marion but i wrote him to be fairly charismatic and i don’t think that i would be immune haha
5) can i you marry orpheus (also eule)
STOP MARRYING PEOPLE’S OCS ASHER >:(((((
you have permission to marry eule. but marion comes as a side piece. this is non-negotiable.
as for orpheus, ask anil lmao
suddenly occurs to me that nobody knows who these people are. oH well maybe i’ll post more later TwT
i wrote this at 2AM coughing so if this is incoherent i sincerely apologize

AEW All Access Ep 5 Thoughts
So we're done with Chicago as the story wages on and Adam Cole's road to recovery reaches its latest hurdle. Here's my thoughts on the fifth episode of AEW All Access
Continuing from last episode, I do feel like Ruby is blurring her definitions of 'apprehensive' with holding a grudge, I mean this isn't Bret Hart and Goldberg, it was a broken nose
Prayers answered with more Willow prominence in the episode
I really hope we make her a major champion soon too, we did miss the chance to have her beat Jade - but I get it, Statlander is the ideal choice - but maybe Willow can be the one to take the world title from whoever takes it from Hayter? Just go with the most scummy, bitter, heely heel you can get so Willow can pull off the ultimate babyface win off of her
Kip is always a joy to see too, I'm sad Dark/Elevation has been cut too (thanks WBD -_- ) because all we really needed to do was set up an undercard division of sorts, maybe accolades that can be cashed in to challenge for midcard titles on a tv show and we could've been golden. That way also we could've still had the indy talents with some of the underused talents like Kip, Emi, Serpentico, Angelico, Lee Johnson, Nick Comoroto, Abadon etc.
Kenny's doubts are well-founded, especially given how he worked through bouts of vertigo when he was world champion
Sammy's mother's cool, like when I was a kid my parents banned wrestling out of fear we'd get hurt (I mean they were half right but in hindsight I would've just showed my hypothetical kids how it's mostly worked and they're not dropping people on their heads) but she is really into it all
For anyone who's wondering Vertvixen's actually doing quite well in Tokyo Joshi Pro, she's also DEFY Women's Champion. Sawyer Wreck is also having a good time in TJPW it seems
Seeing Adam Cole happy makes me happy
I know not everyone in the locker room has the same kinda dynamic with Tony, but his interaction with Sammy shows that he's more than what dirt sheets, memes and haters say. People paint him as some thoughtless, oblivious, out of depth billionaire but he has a plan and he does care about the wrestlers as well as the wrestling

DC League Of Super-Pets
“DC League Of Super-Pets” is a decently watchable film for a corporate cash-grab.
Krypto is Superman’s dog who’s starting to feel like he’s being replaced by Lois Lane. When Superman is kidnapped by an evil, psychic guinea pig, Krypto tries to save him. The only problem is that he’s ingested some kryptonite, essentially depowering him. Now Krypto must team up with a group of newly superpowered shelter animals to save the Justice League.
I thought this movie was exactly what I expected it to be. It was watchable and had a few funny moments, but was ultimately a licensed movie of a recognizable brand made to try and make kids laugh. The few creative people inject their comedy and love for DC into this movie, only for out-of-touch corporate-mandated cringe to take up significant screen time. The cast is full of celebrity voice actors that they can afford because they’ll recoup the loss through the inevitable toy sales. But, that’s just business which I can respect. Then how did the movie turn out? As I said, it was watchable. These types of movies usually are for the most part. I’m not completely cynical and jaded to the point I can’t enjoy the movie for what it’s trying to be. I still feel the need to call it out though. What makes this movie watchable? Well, I’d say a few great jokes and surprisingly strongly written main characters. The classroom guinea pigs were probably the funniest part of the movie for me. I feel like if the tone of the entire rest of the movie was more akin to those guinea pigs, this movie would’ve been a gut-buster. Instead, you have those out-of-touch scenes like I mentioned before like Krypto eating ice cream and listening to Taylor Swift. With all the celebrity voice actors, I thought this movie would at least have some talented performances, but I was wrong. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart really phone in their performances for this one. This was probably a paycheck for them because their line deliveries felt like a table read. The only two actors that were notable were Keanu Reeves and Kate McKinnon. Keanu Reeves is always a win, but his voice lends perfectly to the more obliviously humorous Batman in this film. Kate McKinnon was actually the MVP of this movie. Her voice work for Lulu felt like the only one having fun. I was actually surprised when I looked her up after I finished the movie. I thought she wasn’t that great in either “Yesterday” or that god-awful 2016 “Ghostbusters” reboot. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she is a really talented voice actress. I thought the characterization and motivations for Krypto and Ace were good, especially for Ace. He had a surprisingly compelling backstory that caught me off guard. It’s too bad that literally everyone else feels uninspired and flat. Like, they try to give an arc to the pig, but it’s all just verbal. The turtle annoyed me a bit too. It felt like the character was just banking on shock humor for kids. Her jokes all boil down to her being crude and having a potty mouth. I also don’t understand why her cursing was censored. It took me out of the movie pretty hard. Either have her almost say curse words or just don’t have her cursing at all. Adding bleep sound effects feels out of place in a theatrically released movie and more at home with reality television or YouTube. I was contemplating whether or not I liked the character designs because they’re clean, but ended up deciding I didn’t after remembering what Cyborg and Aquaman look like in this movie. I think at the end of the day, the most important thing about this movie is if the kids liked it. My theater had a bunch of kids, and even some of the adults, laughing which is okay in my book.

The Blacklist, Season 9 Conclusion
“You can’t judge a book by its cover, but you can by its first few chapters, and certainly by its last.”
We have Elizabeth Keen’s final chapter with the conclusion of Season 9.  Sure, we may get a mention, memory, or motivation in Season 10 that extends her story a bit further.  But it will likely be more epilogue than chapter.  We have all learned the hard way that television stories are not grown organically, but with business in mind.  Budgets and availability sometimes the driving force.  The end, not yet written.
Next season, the Task Force will look different.  It will feel different.  This season it felt like someone was missing, because she was – the giant character that drove the stories along, Elizabeth Keen.  Will next season feel even more so, with the loss of Aram (and to a lesser extent Park)?  Will they bring in fresh, new cast members we immediately gel with as an audience?  It could happen, but if the casting in Season 9 is any indication, the odds aren’t good.  Coming into a series in its tenth season is hard enough, but winning over a jaded fan base? Even harder. The Blacklist has enjoyed returning to familiar characters of seasons’ past.  But how much longer can they go to that well?
So here we are, back on that empty street in front of the restaurant.  Reddington strolling out.  Elizabeth confronting him, slowly raising her arm with a gun in her hand. Remember the feeling of those final episodes?  The anticipation and weight of every scene, word, note.  Where was any of that in Season 9? (The closest they came to it was “Between Sleep and Awake,” which was my favorite episode of the season).  We were made to believe that Van Dyke found Keen and killed her in front of Reddington for revenge against Townsend. The retcon was that Reddington’s loyal lawyer, Marvin Gerard, jealous of Elizbeth’s status, led her killer to her. He signed her death warrant.  Is that story line any better or more believable? Does it change anything?  Nope, she is still dead for less than noble reasons. We went all around the world in Season 9 just to end up right back where we started, feeling less that great about it.
Season 10, perhaps the last chapter, will take a different track.  Reddington has been outed by Marvin in his final hours to, you guessed it, an old character, Wujing.  Now Wujing, along with other criminals Reddington put on the blacklist, will be after him.  It will be a game of cat and mouse.  With many cats, and just one mouse – Reddington.  Reddington is far more fun to watch when he is cat and not mouse, though.  Will the task force sell us on their desire to help Reddington avoid his cats?  Not sure, especially if they have new task force members.  New FBI agents ready to help Reddington?  Unlikely.
They have to cast a female. And she’s going to have to be amazing. Do they have a budget for such talent? Probably not.  It’s an incredibly difficult task and I hope there is a formidable actress out there ready to rise to the occasion.  Save the show.  Save this final chapter.  Spader is Spader, but he can only do so much to make the final chapter epic.  We have a long hiatus to sit through, with only behind the scenes photos and casting news to live off of and wildly speculate about in the meantime.  How will the potential final chapter end and will it be the ultimate capstone needed to judge the whole series by?

I can't totally articulate why beyond just 'it's not worth it', but just wanted to rant here instead of fighting people on the internet lol overstimulated reading a million different posts every day about all the awful things going on in the world so sometimes you really just have to pick your battles
So I am not into F1 at all so please forgive my imperfect retelling, but I was reading about the Qatar Grand Prix that happened last month and how driver Logan Sargeant withdrew from the competition after feeling ill - which it's apparently pretty rare to voluntarily withdraw mid-race like that. Extremely commendable decision by this driver, probably was an impossible call to make with all the sponsors and fans and all the other factors that depend on him to complete the race. What was even more amazing was the overall support from the community - literally every article, comment section, and Reddit thread I went through were praising Sargeant for putting himself, as he should, first. The thought of a driver potentially passing out from being ill behind a F1 car going full speed is horrifying. His life is worth more than winning a race.
And want to know what this made me think about? Simone Biles.
Although a different circumstance, Biles had the exact same situation where she felt ill and unsafe competing and removed herself, as she should, from the competition. And everyone absolutely DRAGGED her through the dirt. Literally it's been two years and to this day people still label her a "quitter" and loudly bring their doubt in to everything she does - mind you she has earned both record-setting World and Olympic medals since the infamous team event. Would they have felt any better if she went for that second vault and instead landed on her neck and got seriously injured? Why was the response to Biles so disgustingly different than the response to Sargeant? (You know why.)
If I hear a single "she owes it to her team" - no she doesn't. Sargeant's team Williams Racing and Biles' Olympic team were both vocal in their support for their respective teammates decisions and expressed their gratitude that each athlete had the mental awareness to make that call and withdraw to prevent something worse from happening. If the only people directly impacted by a teammate withdrawing from a competition are not upset then why the fuck would you be?
Ultimately, huge shocker here, the difference in response comes down to all sorts of intersectionality of issues due to Biles being a woman and POC. It's exhausting just reading the vitriol and hate plastered all over the internet so I can only imagine how frustrating it is for Biles. She's literally set every conceivable record in her discipline and is STILL reaching new milestones to this day, yet people want to make her decision to preserve her own safety in Tokyo her career-defining moment. It's because of that decision that she continues to break records to this day so I guess maybe it was.
Social media is pretty much used for people to complain and criticize and try to make comments to virtue signal or whatever to seem better than the other person, so maybe that's why is so frustrating seeing one athlete hailed a hero for making the same decision that caused another athlete to get effectively cancelled. Like being on the internet so long I'm jaded enough to not read into hate comments too much, just disagree with them and let them bounce off you. But sometimes coming across these hypocritical responses makes me want to grab their collective shoulders and shake some sense into them (ง'̀-'́)ง

On the next one Wardlow vs Christian Cage in a ladder match for the TNT title. Wardlow in control but Cage takes over bringing a ladder and table into play he has took over completely stopping Wardlow sending him crashing into the ladder. Wardlow is back up as both men climb ,out comes Luchasaurs,Christian hits a killswitch off the ladder and then goes for a spear. Wardlow goes for a senton but misses,Luchasaurs tries to take out Arn Anderson. Wardlow then puts Luchasaurs on a table,he climbs a ladder and hits a senton off it. Arn is busted open,Wardlow then powerbombs Christian, climbs the ladder and takes down the title. Im a little shocked here because its a hot potato title.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up is House of Black vs Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed in an open house match for the trios tag titles. This was definitely a unique match, certainly different. My 1st look at a match like this, back and forth they go with multiple tags, this was an OK match with in and out tags. Billy Gunn tags in giving out fame-ass-ers. House of Black claim victory with a win ovet Billy, they walk out still champions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next Jade Cargill vs Taya Valkyrie for the TBS title. Taya stays on Jade and goes right after her but Jade came back in it looking for the pin and then submission. Taya hits her finisher to no avail but Jade hits her and takes the dub to retain. Smart Mark Sterling grabs the mic and says no one is left, out comes Kris Statlander she's back and goes on to beat Jade ending the 500 days 60-0 streak.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another match and its Jamie Hayter vs Toni Storm for the AEW women's title. Rumours are Jamie is injured and it looks like uts true as Ruby Soho and Saraya attack Jamie beating her down. The match starts and Jamie tries to stay in it,out comes Britt Baker again and then Hikaru Shida but ultimately it was Toni becoming a 2 time champion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And next it shall be MJF vs Darby vs Jungle Boy vs Sammy Guevara in a fatal four way match for the AEW title. Sammy and his wife are having a baby ok then. All 4 men looking good and all going at it. MJF asks Sammy to lay down but instead Sammy rolls up MJF to no avail they then fight. All 4 men in now with a submission. Canadian destroyer from all men,Darby and Sammy up to the top rope, MJF looked to use the title and tgen brass knux as a weapon,Darby then uses his skateboard followed by the coffin drop. All 4 men are in and MJF with a hip toss on Darby the pinfall and MJF walks out still as champion.
