i just watched this video on youtube about a $12 million dollar house and while it was in fact stunning, the thing i couldn't get past was the fact that every single bedroom had their own washer and dryer. and i'm like, if i spend $12 million on an enormous house, i ain't doing laundry in my own fucking room. no way. there will be an entire room dedicated to that thank you very much. like what the fuck. you spent 11 years building this stunning chateau-like house and you give each bedroom that?! i don't know man, rich people are weird.

still want the house tho. hahahahaha. where's my rich sugar daddy when i need him.

#the kitchen – while impressive – also really stressed me out #i mean i suppose at that price you'd probably have staff so it wouldn't matter much #but like the kitchen was so incredibly spread out and didn't seem to have much cohesion or sense #in terms of like if you were actually going to use it to cook meals #and i guess the basement and attic were both unfinished which was INSANE #you spend however many years designing and building this monstrosity and then don't finish it???????#the 'master' bath was certainly a sight to behold and i loved EVERYTHING about it *except* where it was placed #so like it was ALL windows and that was fine cuz they were up in the mountains on like 40 acres and zero neighbors and of course #but one side of the bathroom (i think the shower maybe?) faced part of a driveway #and like if i had $12 million those windows would be those mirrored windows hahahahaha but on this house i don't think they were 😬😬😬😬😬#but my favourite part of the whole house was ironically what could be considered its own apartment wing because it had its own kitchen #and it's the only part where the individual washer/dryer makes sense #but i suppose that might be where staff could live? who knows. ahahahhhahaa #ANYWAY apparently the family only lived in it for *three* months and it's sat vacant for like 7 years (tho not abandoned)#i mean what the fuck rich people #hahahahahahahahq #where's my sugar daddy when i need him #i will 1000% take care of this place #could have some cool parties at this place too

some guy bought a lot of the abandoned buildings downtown and is supposedly gonna do something with them

#apparently including airbnb apartments. which is eh i dont really care about that #id really love to see some life come back into the downtown area in my lifetime #ive lived in this town my whole life and for most of my life all those buildings have been abandoned and run down #theres nothing to do on my side of town. tyeres a coffee shop and some thrift stores but thats it #we dont even have a grocery store. youd have to go Into Town for walmart and harps and the dollar stores n shit #i miss when harps was downtown. i know theyre not gonna do anything with the vacant building now #thats all this town is. vacant buildings once with promises of something new. promises made sometimes close to 20 years ago #i think the freds building was or is to be turned into a storage place. like we need another #oh well

it's 10.23pm, the kids were let out of the house again at 10.05pm, they are STILL in the process of leaving, that one kid is screaming/shouting because they don't know how to talk at a normal volume, there is something wrong with him; someone is honking their car--and these are the people who honk their car when one of their kids are slow in coming out of the house (this is way back in the 00s-10s; now those kids are grown up with their own screaming kids, aaah i wonder where they get it from)

anyway, i tried to check the noise restrictions, and it's either 8pm or after midnight, but there's nothing specifically for children, so i can't call the police on them... rip

anyway i'm using this to drown them out. hope they fucking leave soon, i have some sad/devastated/anxious!anthony to write

are you jokinggggg an iconic piece of architecture in my city (not good but iconic anyways) was bought up and slated for demo to build condos and now the project is on hold because the housing market is bad. yayyyy more abandoned buildings downtown yayyyyy trying to build luxury condos when there’s a tent city in every park in the city yayyyy closing local businesses instead of trying economic reinvigoration strategies only for the former site of those local businesses to sit vacant for probably years yayyyy no consequences for developers

#there’s the SAME THING going on at a church just up the street from it too. it was supposed to be turned into condos YEARS ago #like 2010s #and now it’s almost 2024 and the scaffolding is still there disrupting a whole block #and there are no plans for construction or anything like girl wtf. at this point the city should be allowed to repossess and build #social housing #but all of our social housing is disappearing anyways in favour of redevelopment models that include more market units than social housing #units anyways <3 #also huge shoutout to the massive social housing complex that was supposed to become a mixed income housing development but is also sitting #vacant while private companies try to appeal the development. all while there’s a huge encampment RIGHT across from it #but those same private companies aren’t appealing luxury condo plans that would be negatively impacted by said private companies MORE #i hate it here so much… all housing should be free and iconic identity-forming pieces of architecture should be left alone #and all vacant lots (and parking lots tbh) should be repossessed to make something nice #and all condo developers should throw up forever and die #yay <3 i love urban planning <3
