Alternatives to Squishmallow

So as many of you have probably already heard, Jazwares, the company that produces Squishmallows, is donating to charities that support Israeli soldiers and the IDF. They’re also supporting Canary Mission, which has been doxxing people who speak out against Israel. BDS hasn’t called for a boycott against them, but I can’t in good faith spend my money on their products, and I would strongly encourage everyone who enjoys plushies to really think long and hard about if you want to give your money to a company that’s helping support genocide!

But the holidays are coming up, and lots of us enjoy plushies and were fans of Squishmallow, and were planning to give Squishmallows to friends and family this year.

Fortunately, there are a number of great plushie companies out there, and I want to promote some of my favorites in the hopes that folks will get their plushie fix from a source that doesn’t side with Israel. So without further ado:

Fluffnest

Fluffnest got their start on Kickstarter a few years ago, and I adore the round shapes of their PuffPal plushies! My favorite is Pete the Possum, which is probably the best possum plush I’ve ever seen. I’ve also got a beautiful moth from their Kickstarter and I’ve been wanting their bats for ages. They also recently had a Kickstarter for an Animal Crossing-esque video game featuring their plushie characters and it looks fantastic.

Squishables

I can’t get over the plague doctor plushies. They’re so perfect and cute, and they’ve released other variations of them called Alter Egos, like a ghostly version, an alien, or a really sweet cottagecore one! They’ve got a ton of variety, but what I like the most are the fantasy plushies. There’s a lich! There are dragons and demons! Cryptids! Biblically accurate angels! A lot of really fun stuff!

Also they do a lot of great charity work! Right now they’re doing an auction for the Food Bank of New York City.

AfternoonFika

AfternoonFika is a very small business of only three people, but their plushies are extremely cute. They tend to sell out fast, so I recommend following them on social media to stay on top of any restocks! They recently released a line of dinosaurs that are precious, and of course I love their iconic cactus cat and cinnamon bun bunny.

Jellycat

Jellycat has been around since 1999, so they’re the oldest of these companies. They’ve got great designs, a ton of variety, and a lot of their plushies are made to be cuddled on and not just displayed. All three of my tiny nephews sleep with a different stuffed dog from Jellycat. My mom has a sun and several succulents that she uses as decorations. There’s a little something for everyone who enjoys plushies!

If you have any other favorite companies I haven’t mentioned, feel free to add on! I’ve enjoyed Squishmallows for a while now and I’m sad to see their leadership coming out on the side that’s committing war crimes on a daily basis, but this is a good time to discover new favorite plushie companies! And remember, money speaks loudly. Even if BDS hasn’t called for a boycott of Jazwares, it sends a message when sales start dropping for companies that support genocide. It’s a small thing, but the little things we do can add up!

Ya’ll don’t know how much I love de-aged Danny prompts and fics.

It’s supposed to be in there… right?

But it’s not staying. Why won’t it stay?

He sniffles, frustration, exhaustion, hurt, and childish confusion mixing itself so spectacularly that he begins to cry.

And then something big and heavy plops itself on the ground with him.

It was so startling that he hiccups into a stop.

He stares, hands wet and his spilling tummy very heavy, but he doesn’t mind it as the very big cat person blinks slowly back at him. Or maybe a bat?

It’s crouching very slowly, even speaking in soft words. It must be friendly! He didn’t know bat-cat people existed, but he liked it very much.

A/N: Honestly the thing I really love about my body are my thighs. They're very squishable, I love thighs.

Kaeya likes to lay his cheek against your thigh when he's laying on his stomach and between your legs. It's not that he's doing anything lewd he just think your thighs are really warm and soft, he likes the way they feel. Plus he can use the opportunity to tickle you since his hair is usually untied when he's resting.

Diluc genuinely falls asleep when he's resting on your thighs. You know this. It's also your secret weapon when you want him to catch a few more hours of sleep. It's cute, the way he mumbles in his sleep and turns his head, one hand resting on your knee for support while you run your hand against his cheek.

Itto likes to cuddle with your thighs but he's careful when he does because of his horns. Will take the opportunity to mark his territory however. How can he resist when your thigh look so munchable to him. They're very sensitive too so his bite marks stay there for a few days if he bites a little harder. You let him because you know he'll kiss them better later.

Thoma will rest his chin on your thighs as he hugs them close to each other and just spend the time in silence enjoying your touch as you run your hand through his hair. Kisses them if he feels like teasing you a little but most of the time he likes to use your thighs as his personal head resting place.

Childe always stares at your thighs when you're training. He never hides his appreciation of them, running his hands across them when you're in his lap, making you sigh and melt against him. Loves to kiss them, climbing upwards little by little and then back down to your knee. Watches you with hooded eyes all the while, wondering if you'll ask for more or if you have the self-control to resist.

Pantalone never thought much about thighs until one night when he was reading papers until late at night and fell asleep. He woke up with his head resting in your lap. He was tired, they felt nice, he just couldn't find it in him to get up and ask you how long he was asleep. From then on he takes little power naps in the exact same way.

Al-Haitham gets flustered whenever you offer him your thighs to cuddle with. They're very close to a certain other place where he could spend hours but he doesn't want to risk you getting any ideas. Is always respectable when he has his head in your lap, unless you explicitly ask him not to be.

Zhongli hugs you close to him while he rests his head in your lap. His hands are on your hips or wrapped around you. Kisses you a whole lot when he's like that, you even feel a few teasing, strategically placed licks in a few places he knows drive you absolutely wild. He always huffs out a warm, soft laugh when he knows his mannerisms are getting to you. You're too cute not to tease.
