"Jessica and Miguel groomed Gwen and kept her from her family for months. Oh, and also (insert Mr. Fantastic levels of reach to somehow say that Jessica and Miguel are transphobic/homophobic)."
😬😬😬😬😬
Also, wouldn't it make far more sense if Gwen was avoiding her father for all this time because she's afraid to come out to him? She was afraid to tell him she's a spider person, after all. But no, I'm sure it's because the scary brown man and black woman are manipulating this precious uwu white girl to keep her there.
This movie really brought the racism out in so many people.
Never speak again, thanks!

I ended a phone call with a friend and the last thing he heard me say was
“I’ll keep hitting on nurses in-“
Honestly what a way to hit the end call button too soon

Um Duolingo, what the hell is this:
Tumblr media
As if it wasn't bad enough that the new pathway removed a bunch of my progress (AND takes ages to move onto the next topic so I'm not improving), and that they removed the wordlist so I can no longer keep on top of vocabulary, now I have no idea whether I'm meeting my own daily target or not?S

My mother used to fight me tooth-n-nail to wear "girl" clothes. She liked dressing my sister and I so we'd match. She finally gave up after my father yelled at her about her screaming at me and about me crying before every family event/holiday. (“Stop fucking screaming at her, [Karen]. Let her wear whatever. And you— stop fucking crying.”)
After that, it seemed like she lost a lot of the motivation to raise me to be like her. I liked soccer and fencing rather than gymnastics. I preferred swimming in board shorts and swim tops rather than the gingham print ruffle sleeve one-piece she bought my sister (she wanted us to match). I could finally wear jeans to our family reunions rather than something fancy with tights (never understood the fancy clothes as I was going to get muddy running about with all my cousins anyway). Hell, she even began to let me explore my terrible fashion sense.
That doesn't mean, however, there was no more conflict. There were still tense moments, like any time we had to shop for clothing, especially formalwear. I hated how dresses fit me, but couldn’t find the words to voice why. “No, mom, I don’t hate my body.” “No, I’m not insecure about my [insert body part].” “I dunno. It just doesn’t *feel* right, ma. It *feels* off.” “No. I don’t *feel* ugly! I look quite nice. I just don’t like the dress.”
When I went prom-dress shopping, for example, I disliked every dress I tried on, much to my mother’s frustration. Nothing seemed to fit "right," which confused my mother because the dresses- technically- fit me. She couldn’t figure it out and kept asking me the same questions I’d heard a million times before while shopping with her. But, at some point, I finally told her that I felt like, and felt like I looked like, a "man in a dress." Her response was, "No, you don’t, honey. You look beautiful." And, duh??? I knew that. That's not what I said. I didn't say, "I feel ugly." I said that I felt like, and felt like I looked like, a man (in a dress).
It went right over her head and mine. It continued to go over our heads even when I told her later that same day that whenever I put on a dress, it “felt like” drag, but without the performance art.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland
song by Felix Bernard and Richard B. Smith, as sung by Peggy Lee; Book illustrated by Tim Hopgood.
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? The popular Christmas carol is beautifully illustrated by Tim Hopgood in this book.
Tumblr media
Sing the song aloud with your kids while you flip through the book. Each page is a winter wonderland!
After singing the song together, ask your child to tell you a story based on the images. The illustrations offer lots of details that your kids can point out.
Ask your child questions like, 'where are the people going?' and 'what are they looking at?' to help them narrate a story.
Reading in this way will help your child practice singing, talking, and playing, which will help them get ready to read on their own. They'll build phonological awareness, narrative skills, vocabulary, and background knowledge.
Extend the Book: Winter Wonderland Calm Down Jar
You will need:
Bottle with cap or mason jar
Permanent marker
Clear school glue
Glitter
Food coloring
Beads, rhinestones, styrophoam balls, or other small items to float in your jar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Draw a winter scene on the outside of your jar with permanent marker.
Add a large scoop of glitter to your jar along with a handful of beads, rhinestones, Styrofoam balls, or other objects you have gathered.
Pour about 2oz of clear school glue into the jar. The glue will help make the jar settle more slowly after shaking it up.
Fill the rest of the container with water, pouring slowly so you don't create too many bubbles. Stir to dissolve the glue.
Add one drop of food coloring (more than one drop will make it difficult to see the objects inside.)
Put the top back on and seal tightly. Have an adult hot glue around the lid to prevent leaks.
Shake the jar to create a winter wonderland. Then watch as the particles settle slowly to the bottom.
Check out Walking in a Winter Wonderland!

It's really interesting how people perceive blame differently in the fandom. Like we have people yelling until they're blue in the face about how Sam can't be held responsible for s4 and raising Lucifer because Ruby was manipulating him and demons and angels were manipulating him, which, fair enough. But then those same people also say that Dean is personally responsible for every single fallout from the Gadreel incident even though his only real action was agreeing to let Gadreel try to make Sam say yes out of desperation. Especially since a) he agreed thinking that Gadreel was Ezekiel who Castiel vouched for and b) he originally intended to tell Sam the truth but then Gadreel essentially held Sam hostage to force him not to. Like, yeah, it was shitty, but I find it really strange that if Sam isn't to be blamed because he was desperate and hurting and outside forces tricked him, why doesn't that apply to Dean?
