another ship breakdown by yours truly !

After watching this relationship develop, I've come to realize that they're really fucking special (and stupid.) Though the two of them seem universes apart at first, that isn't entirely true. Wei Ying, on one hand, is very open and free spirited. Lan Zhan, on the other hand, is reserved and very stiff.

Most of Wei Ying's character can be inferred through his internal dialogue, as he's the protagonist. Lan Zhan's character is unfortunately up for us to decipher. The only way we can infer anything about him is through his words and his actions, as we don't have access to his thoughts.

Through his actions, we can definitely see his character (and his feelings!!) grow.

Jiang Cheng: Dare because it’s what Wei Ying always picks

Jiang Yanli: Truth. She’s an open book! And people picking dares don’t always take her health into account :(

Nie Huaisang: Secretly way overthinks which one he picks based on the person asking and the general tenor of truths and dares so far that evening but almost always picks dare anyway

Nie Mingjue: Dare. Obviously. Cmon.

Lan Zhan: No thank you. If Wei Ying was invited then Lan Zhan was also invited, but he stayed home.

Luo Qingyang: Dare because picking truth is boring

Mo Xuanyu: Truth because he wants to talk about his feelings

Wen Qing: Dare because these people do NOT need to know about her fucking feelings

Wen Ning: Truth :) People usually go pretty easy on him because he is after all the nicest person ever and also if he gets upset then Wen Qing will be mad at them and that’s not a good place to be

Su She: Dare, the blessed little try-hard.

Xue Yang: Picks according to his whims but usually picks truth and then gives the most insane answer possible. Occasionally someone will try to call him out for lying and then he whips out concrete proof that it really happened. Sometimes he is just straight up lying though >:)
