The state animal of #Chhattisgarh - the #WildBuffalo has seen a decline in numbers, so much that there were only 10 individuals remaining in Udanti- Sitanadi Tiger Reserve. WTI has been working with Chhattisgarh Forest Department and supported by Oracle, to recover the population of this iconic species and bring back the pride in Chhattisgarh. A multi-pronged project involving ecology, veterinary science, policy and campaigns is implemented in the state.
Meanwhile, in an unprecedented feat, a pair of wild buffaloes were moved from Assam to Chhattisgarh through West Bengal and Odisha, during the #lockdown period with #quarantine and relevant permissions from the state governments. A team from Chhattisgarh had camped in Manas for more than a month, until they managed to complete all necessary documentation to effect this historic move. In a bid to augment the population and save the state animal of Chhattisgarh, a pair of wild buffaloes were transported to the #conservation breeding centre in Barnawapara from Manas.
Meanwhile the campaign has left its mark on the population and policy makers in the state capital #Raipur and the message is on the most prominent walls. Save the Wild Buffalo - the state animal of Chhattisgarh!

After 3 days of struggle I found a group of Red Giant flying squirrels 🐿️in the dark forest at 10 o'clock in the night. There were 7 to 8 squirrels Together. And this is my first record of finding squirrels😊🙏🐿️🐿️ The Red Giant Flying Squirrel or common giant flying squirrel (Petaurista petaurista) is a species of rodent in the family Sciuridae (squirrels). It is found in a wide variety of forest–types, plantations and more open habitats with scattered trees in Southeast Asia, ranging north to the Himalayas and southern and central China. One of the largest arboreal squirrels, all populations have at least some reddish-brown above and pale underparts, but otherwise there are significant geographic variations in the colours. The taxonomic position of those in the Sundaic region is generally agreed upon, but there is considerable uncertainty about the others, which variously have been included in this or other species, or recognized as their own species Like other flying squirrels, the red giant flying squirrel is mostly nocturnal and able to glide (not actually fly like a bat) long distances between trees by spreading out its patagium, skin between its limbs. It is a herbivore and the female has one, infrequently two, young per litter.] Although declining locally due to habitat loss and to a lesser degree hunting, it remains overall common and it is not a threatened species. 😊🔥❣🕉 Canon 700d 55- 250mm Lens 💝 Follow ⤵& Use Tag #himachalwildlifepicture 🌉 ❣🔥 #canonindia_official #flyingsquirrel #squirrel #canonshots #canonphotos #redgiantflyingsquirrel #Animals #Wild #bigcats #squirrels #wildanimals #catoftheday #canon #nightphotography #photography 🐺🐱#nocturnal #flyingsquirrels #bigcatphotography #wildanimals #forest #savebigcat 🏕🗻 #worldwild #sanctuaryasia #himachalwildlife #Animalslover #love #naturelover #jungles 💝 #photooftheday #capturedoncanon "Save Wildlife & Save World." @natgeo @natgeoindia @canonindia_official @bbcearth @wildlifeindia @natgeochannel @natgeowild @natgeoasia @discovery @wild.planet @sanctuaryasia @indianwildlifeofficial @bbcwildlifemagazine @wctindia @wildlifetrustofindia (at Chamba, Himachal Pradesh) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMFCj25p5O_/?igshid=1p11nnna4ztvc
Male Barasingha got protective of his mate the moment we arrived. I wonder what he was thinking. The male can be easily be identified with 12 antlers. December 2018. Although Kanha National Park has a viable population of tigers, however, we especially take our guests to sight Barasingha, the handsome amongst the Cervidae family. Even a predator has to think twice before attacking this robust creature. _____________________________ http://www.ryasktourism.com E: [email protected] _____________________________ #kanhanationalpark #tigertouring #wildlifesafari #barasingha #cervidae #jeepsafari #naturetrail #ecolodge #wildlifephotography #earthcapture #discover_india #incredibleindia #liveyounglivefree #deerfamily #indianwildlife #wildgeography #picoftheday #candidshots #incredibleindia #madhyapradesh #marvelshots @bbcearth @natgeo @animalplanet @outlooktraveller @natgeowild @lonelyplanet @sanctuaryasia @vivek4wild @diamirzaofficial @leonardodicaprio @wildlifetrustofindia #ryasktourism #bbcworld (at Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/BscHdU3gQB7/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gd37sudhgzhk
