Black Parade Mask
* Handmade Papier Mache Mask sourced from Mexico by Colleen Atwood and worn in the filming of My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” music video
Gerard Quote: “I got to keep some of the masks used in Sam Bayer’s music video for ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’, which was awesome. One of the things Sam was able to do was introduce me to Colleen Atwood, one of the most celebrated costume designers in Hollywood, after I expressed a great interest in working with her on the band’s Black Parade uniforms, which I had been making doodles of for a couple months. The first thing to know about Colleen is that she’s not only insanely talented, she is one of the kindest, sweetest human beings I have met in my life, and I am very grateful we became friends through working together. I also learned a ton from her, and after the shoot and the working experience, I desperately wanted to become an apprentice of hers– just to hang out and make stuff and keep learning. A little background on Colleen is that she has been working on films for many years. She has received several Academy Awards for costume design, and she is the woman responsible for dressing the characters in everything from Memoirs of A Geisha to Edward Scissorhands, creating his iconic look for the film, along with the rest of the cast and many others. Colleen had discovered a group of mask-makers in Mexico that she loved, of which she asked to make her hundreds of masks for the shoot. I remember her explaining all the reasons she was drawn to their work, what she thought was special about them in their simplicity. I thought they were great, and it was truly a sight to see the scores of extras wearing them during the shoot, making up the bulk of the ‘black parade’. Over the years I have given one or two of these away, and I brought the remaining masks to the video shoot, ‘A Summoning’ as props or set-dressing easter-eggs. The Summoning video was used to accompany the announcement for MCR’s 2020 Reunion Tour, which would have been a very different experience had it occurred. After this finds a new home, I believe I will have three left.” - G (x)

You know what, season 2 broke a lot of our hearts, didn't it? Well, here's some moments I thought were funny, heartwarming and just off the wall to lighten things up!
Starting with the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc and if y'all want, I'll do a part 2 for the Shibuya Incident!
NOTE: I may have talked about some of these moments before in other posts.
Utahime, just all of Utahime in the first episode. She's awesome, I adore her. "SHOOOOKOOOO!!"
Chibi Satoru and Suguru. Especially the part of Suguru walking up the stairs as the others were talking. "Urusei."
"SENSEI, I SAY WE STOP THIS HUNT FOR THE CULPRIT!"
"SO IT WAS YOU!"
"Blegh!"
Shoko dipping out.
Suguru was really about to jump Satoru with a curse!!!
The fact that Suguru even went from wearing regular-waist pants to high-waist ones from manga to anime is glorious. Whoever decided that knew Suguru was meant to be a fashion icon.
Digimon
That WALK!!! Y'all, those are Special Grade sorcerers!
Suguru scowling Satoru on his behavior, also... "Satorrruuu~" Did he have to purr? That was a purr!
I love Satoru Gojo, I do. But with those glasses, he really do be looking like one of the Three Blind Mice from Shrek.
I don't know how but Toji somehow made saying he took his wife's last name scary. Like, he was very intimidating that it bypass me the first time of how cute it is that he loved Mamaguro a lot.
They actually added Suguru fixing himself a cup of tea in the anime!! This teenager really had that man captured by some Kissing Curse, told him he couldn't be a rice farmer and had himself some tea. Iconic.
Ooh, Satoru didn't have to do Bayer like that. But I applaud him for taking such a selfie!
Shoko trying to explain how RCT works actually irritated Satoru... which is rare!
Riko actually was the first to defeat Satoru. Did him dirty!! Suguru actually laughs at Satoru getting slapped while in the anime he looks shocked. Either way, his reaction is funny as hell.
"You look like a liar! And what's up with those bangs?" Then Riko got jumped for that!
Suguru's bangs ain't that bad, come on!
Knowing how Suguru turns out, it's something he's the one to tell Kuroi that she's Riko's family. Years later, he had his own "family". It's actually heartwarming he tells her that.
That old man didn't even get touched yet and he was already seeing his dead dog from 50 years ago!! Man's life flashed right before his eyes and he even says that! The whooping Suguru put on him was so bad that he was having visions!!
The one time Satoru is shown to have some sort of charm is with a bunch of school girls. The teacher should be locked up though.
Baghead man really had on the All Might cosplay.
Toji didn't have to say a word to that man and he still scared him shitless. Alright, Toji, I see you being all scary!
Satoru really be carrying kids like they're bags of groceries. Did it with Yuji, he did it with Riko.
"I failed!"
Kuroi being rescued! Satoru really stomped on those guys!
The plane scene. Satoru checking each passenger all with a glare. Meanwhile, Suguru was just chilling with a book, sitting there all pretty.
The whole beach scene!! "IT'S A SEA CUCUMBER!!"
Teen Kento having that hairstyle and his dynamic with Yu is just too adorable. He looks like he has Wii music playing in his head all day. Such a good kid!!
I cannot believe that DIO's VA is also Toji's. It's funnier when Toji has had beef with Satoru as a kid and DIO has had generational beef with the Joestars.
I just know that Worm Curse was having the time of its life on Toji's back while he was jumping around and being tossed about. Also, Toji smiling the whole time while fighting.
Suguru actually has mad hops! Did y'all not see that long ass jump?!
Squid gun. Speaking of, where in the hell did all those squids come from?! I need a story on that one!
Toji talking about how he fights for a while before Suguru tells him to shut up and due.
"Am I pretty?" "Sorry, you're not my type." Okay, well, damn.
The Worm Curse pretty much "NOPE" at Suguru.
That kick was fucking personal, I just know it! Also, the fact that Toji actually thought about the curses inhabiting Suguru's body is something. Especially, given later. I actually question that when Suguru dies in JJK 0, did Satoru have to deal with any curses?
Toji remembering Megumi.
Also, if you pay attention to the Worm, that thing sometimes matches Toji's expressions. It's like Reki and his headband (SK8 the Infinity).
Satoru standing all menacingly outside for Toji.
"Is he high?" Well, given that a few moments later he'll be floating in the air.
The fact that people have described Toji's death as "turned into the Apple logo" to "the Rengoku treatment". Y'all are out of pocket! And he looked so disappointed, too.
"Mommy... hug me..." That scene is just...
"I like girls with healthy appetites!" Yu, never change!!
Yuki's reaction to what Suguru tells her about what he has heard about her. "She's pouting."
"I heard you the first time. That's why I said 'huh'!" Bro was just that mad.
Shoko. Just Shoko when she and Suguru meet in Shinjuku.
Heartbreaking as the scene is, you had one lanky ass teenager looking deranged on one end and the other with the "I'm going to the store real quick" fit on having this fight in front of KFC. Becomes even funnier when you remember the slogan "finger lickin' good". What does this have to do with anything? Think about Yuji.
One, where did Suguru get the robes from? Two, given he was born the following year in February after Satoru, if I did my calculations right... Suguru really started a cult at 17. No wonder there were objections. After he killed that guy, I'm sure everyone was like "oh, he's unhinged".
Okay, but the head rubs he gave the twins were so cute!! Look, they may been raised as killers, but it's sweet that they were Suguru's family. He adored those girls and they adored him!
The first meeting between Megumi and Satoru!!
Satoru waking up and seeing his students was just so heartwarming!!!

2025 will mark the 40th anniversary of Dionne Warwick’s cultural milestone single, “That’s What Friends Are For.” The one-off single, featuring the equally iconic Gladys Knight, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder, “That’s What Friends Are For,” was released as a charity single in October 1985 to support AIDS research. The song achieved monumental success and cemented Warwick’s legacy as not just a music icon but a significant figure in the history of AIDS advocacy.
Dionne Warwick emerged as a groundbreaking performer in the 1960s, her voice becoming the medium for the poignant lyrics of the songwriting duo Burt Bacharach and Hal David. With hits like “Walk On By” and “Say a Little Prayer,” she became synonymous with a refined pop and R&B style. As musical styles changed in the 1970s and 1980s, Warwick adapted to the changing musical landscape, dominated by Disco and the advent of MTV-oriented superstars.
youtube
The genesis of “That’s What Friends Are For” lies in its initial recording by Rod Stewart for the 1982 comedy movie “Night Shift.” Stewart’s version was in concert with the schmaltzy ballad sound that dominated pop radio at the time and went relatively unnoticed. Written by Burt Bacharach & Carole Bayer Sager, Warwick’s 1985 version was a rallying cry in the fight against AIDS and catapulted the song into music and AIDS history.
Featuring Gladys Knight, Elton John and Stevie Wonder and billed as Dionne & Friends, “That’s What Friends Are For” was released in October 1985, just a few weeks after the AIDS-related death of Rock Hudson, a beloved American Hollywood Legend. Hudson’s death marked a significant shift in America’s understanding of AIDS and song’s poignant message of friendship and unconditional love resonated with music listeners during a pivotal time.
Tumblr media
The proceeds of the platinum-selling “That’s What Friends Are For” were donated to the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR). Co-founded by Elizabeth Taylor in September 1985, one of AmFar’s first donations was a gift of $250,000 from Rock Hudson shortly before his death a month later. This gift, along with the amplification and monetary support by “That’s What Friends Are For,” AmFar has contributed to numerous breakthroughs that have extended and saved lives worldwide.
Dionne Warwick’s AIDS advocacy was not limited to this song. She became a vocal and visible advocate for AIDS research, education, and compassion. In March 1990 “That’s What Friends Are For” was performed by Warwick and her cousin Whitney Houston as the finale at the AIDS benefit That’s What Friends Are For: Arista Records 15th Anniversary Concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The historic event, later televised on CBS, raised Over $2.5 million for various AIDS organizations.
youtube
Dionne Warwick’s dedication to AIDS advocacy continued for years, making her a significant figure not only in music history but also in the history of social activism. Her efforts helped shift public perception of AIDS and brought greater awareness and resources to combat the crisis. Her career is a testament to the power of music not just to reflect the times but to shape them.
Tumblr media
Dionne Warwick is an enduring icon in both music and social activism. Praise her!

Loved the RM to Bayern story! It's tough to support two teams but I for one am glad to hear you'd root for a Bayer victory if they faced each other.
I used to be an RM supporter too until I moved to Barcelona. Quelled and squashed, my love for RM I had to keep under wraps and it eventually faded away. And though I never supported BCN Idk why I somehow just quit football as a whole and when I got back it was only because Bayern or I should really say Leon with his heart against the homophobes v Hungary in the Euros, sparked my love for the humanness and beauty of this sport.
I'll forever be grateful for that moment as I remember thinking... hmm who this, brave man, whom does he play for and the rest is history.
Aww thank you bestie!! It definitely can be hard to juggle multiple teams, but I’m pretty sure I’d be lying if I said Bayern wasn’t my favorite of the bunch 😂
I didn’t know you used to be a madridista; the more ya know :) sometimes that happens…for one reason or another, you fall out of love with a club. But love works in mysterious ways; sometimes their rival captures your heart. Football is funny that way, isn’t it? I can understand the appeal of Barça for sure, especially when Messi was still there and they were at the peak of their powers. Even as a Madridista, I have to admit there was a true beauty in their football then. There’s also nothing wrong with quitting on football, even if it’s just for a little while; there’s some days where I wonder if it’s good for my mental health to love a sport so much lol.
That’s the thing about Bayern, right? They simply won’t be ignored. You gravitate to them whether you want to or not. That’s how it was with me, and it sounds like it was the same way for you too :) at their best, they’re all that we’ve ever loved about football.
And what an iconic moment that was, not just during that particular euros but for Leon as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the way he responded after the match too:
Tumblr media
There’s just something about his outspokenness, his willingness to stand his ground and fight homophobia like he did, that makes him special. He showed us in that moment what football is at its best. It’s about love—it’s this beautiful game that brings us together week in and week out to experience the whole spectrum of human emotion. And everyone should be allowed to experience that. Not only that, but he’s shown throughout his career that he meant that heart gesture with his entire being. He’s constantly speaking out against any form of discrimination and positioning himself clearly. He’s a class act; how could you not love him? He really is a brave man 🥹

The Mosley Review: DC League of Super-Pets
Tumblr media
I have asked this question so many times over the years and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Why are DC's animated films and tv shows so much better than their live action films?! There are some amazing gems in the DCEU and films not connected to them like The Batman, but consistently the DC Animated Universe and other ventures like The Lego Batman Movie have been knocking it out of the park. I just don't understand it. What I do understand is that the animated films take big swings on characters that aren't as highlighted or forgotten and they've given them new life. That's what has happened here and I was truly blown away by how much love was poured into this story. Sure it could've been a mindless fluff film for children, but instead it carries that perfect balance between child humor and adult humor that kept it engaging. I grew up with the knowledge of Superman's dog Krypto and I remember the comics and animated specials. This was a delightful reimagining of his origin and I loved every bit of the Easter eggs of the DC universe spread across the film.
Tumblr media
Dwayne Johnson was fun and light hearted as Krypto. He captured the loyal companion that is almost a carbon copy of his owner. John Krasinski was excellent as Superman and he nailed the boy scout nature of the character. The two of them together were wonderful and I loved their adorable scenes together. Kevin Hart was so good as Ace and I loved that he was more level headed. He had some hilarious moments in the film, but his backstory was where the heart of the film really comes out as it is truly heartbreaking. Vanessa Bayer was cute and bubbly as PB and I liked her moments of self discovery and confidence. Diego Luna was a lunatic in the best way as Chip. He was all over the place and fun as he tries to control his powers. Natasha Lyonne was perfect as Merton McSnurtle. I loved her geriatric one liners and well placed curses. She nearly stole every scene in the film. Keanu Reeves was perfect as Batman and every time he spoke, it was gold. Marc Maron was truly having fun being evil as the iconic villain Lex Luthor and I was totally there for it. Kate McKinnon was excellent, perfectly sarcastic and sometimes sadistic as Lulu. This entire cast had excellent chemistry and that is rare in voice acting in massive animated films like these.
Tumblr media
The score by Steve Jablonsky was great and of course sprinkles the iconic John Williams and Danny Elfman themes for Superman and Batman. The animation was smooth and I loved how epic some of the shots were during the action scenes and even some of the gorgeous views of Metropolis. This was truly a fun superhero film about the super pets that I didn't know I actually needed. Now if only DC could transfer this amount of good storytelling to their DCEU films. Do stick around for both fun end credit scenes. Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

One of the great honors of my life was when OG invited me to meet her Urgroßmutter. You see, Margarethe was not only a beloved great-grandma to OG, but as a young girl she created a magazine that became a much-copied icon. That magazine was called The Bayer. It’s studied in many journalism courses as the forerunner of the New Yorker magazine. 🏄‍♀️ Meeting OG’s great-grandmother involved a bit of an adventure. She lived alone in a beautiful Alpenhaus on a Bavarian lake that was named for her. Only problem was, we had to paddle across that lake to get to her. OG said we had to get dressed up to visit Margarethe, so OG wore a dirndl and I pulled on some too-tight lederhosen (too many sausages that summer), and we made our way to the edge of Margarethezee. It was then that OG told me we’d have to paddle board. Now, between my snug leather pants and lack of balance, there was no way that was happening. So OG pulled out pocket knife and cut down a tree so I could be a bump on a log while she paddled us across to meet her Urgroßmutter. I was nervous. But OG stuck a feather in my cap and paddled smoothly. We arrived in a couple hours. I was waterlogged. 🍺 Margarethe met us at the dock. She teased @original.gitti about her new hairstyle, then broke into a laugh about my tiny lederhosen and cane. Then she suggested we take a refreshing 10km hike in the Alps to stimulate our appetite. It was at that moment when I realized where OG got all her fortitude from. Margarethe was old, but she outwalked me by a long shot. Plus, my pants were squeaking. I will say I was happy when we got back to her cabin and she brought out the bier steins and showed us old issues of The Bayer magazine. Prosit! 🍻 In the morning, Margarethe decided to go for a swim across the lake. She towed me behind while OG almost fell off her paddle board laughing at me. #adventureswithog @original.gitti https://www.instagram.com/p/CqQflGRADy5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Ballon d'Or recipient cautions Alonso against transferring to Liverpool.
Alonso’s remarkable performance this season has Bayer Leverkusen comfortably leading the Bundesliga, ten points ahead of Bayern Munich, and eyeing their maiden German title with eight matches left in the campaign. German football icon Lothar Matthäus opines that a potential summer transition to Liverpool wouldn’t be the most suitable move for the impressive Bayer Leverkusen coach, Xabi…
