𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑 𝐌𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄
summary: in which you need to wrestle your boyfriend, michael kaiser, out of his bed to fulfil a promise- re dye his hair.
notes: it's meant to be a continuation of this fic but you can read it as a standalone too! 2.1k words for my favorite german pomeranian <3
Tumblr media
germany is beautiful. in all seasons and weather, even with rain and snow pelting down the windows. the bread and sausages make amazing breakfast items, the beer is pleasantly warm, and the sight of castles and palaces all around the country make you feel like a princess. your favorite though, is when spring comes around.
spring blows away the last dregs of winter. there are puddles from melted snow all over the station, sweaters are still needed because of the chilly air, and christmas decorations still litter around town square, ready to be replaced by the eggs of easter. it's when mother nature reappears, pushing winter away for another half year.
coincidentally, it's michael kaiser's least favorite time of the year.
"you don't love me anymore, do you?" he dramatically sobs into your neck, his hands holding onto your body for dear life. "you're moving away to break up with me, aren't you?"
his duvets feel like clouds. made out of the softest material, you find it hard to haul yourself out of the room every day. his sheets are made of silk, a beautiful rose gold in hue, and his bed is enormous, framed by mahogany wood on all sides. kaiser's bedroom is heaven on earth, and you've got your personal angel lying in the middle of it all.
"you've finally found someone better, haven't you?" he asks once more, his eyes peeking from your chest. his hair is a mess, the blue streaks already fading out to match the rest of his hair, there are dark circles surrounding his eyes, and he's got patches of drool in the corner of his lips. but you don't think he's ever looked more ethereal than this.
"who is it?" there's a pout on his lips, his eyes still drowsy from sleep. you watch with a smile of your own, taking in his fluttering eyelashes, your faces close enough to count every last one. "is it a guy from china that you met in hawaii? is he prettier than me? richer? is that why you're leaving me for him?"
"what are you even talking about, silly?" even when you roll your eyes, the smile stays, and you look at him with every bit of fondness in your body. "you're the only pretty boy for me. you know that."
his lips stretch out into a dopey smile, an uncontained giggle spilling from his lips. there's a certain giddiness in his motions, as if he couldn't contain his feelings inside his body. you watch with amusement as he kicks his feet, accidentally pushing pillows out of the bed.
"mhm. i know. just wanted to hear you say it," he hums, going back to nuzzling your tummy. he mumbles incoherently against your shirt before yanking the fabric up, burrowing his face onto your bare skin. "love you, pretty."
"were you out drinking last night?" you shake your head, squealing when he blows against your bare skin. "i thought i could trust ness to keep you out of trouble."
"i wasn't drinking." he's back to his whiny state, both of his hands tightening on your waist. there's a glare this time, his lips twisting back into a pout. "you shouldn't trust ness. trust me instead."
sunlight bleeds into the room, soft and serene as they bypass the curtains. a ray bounces off the mirror on kaiser's vanity, one he specifically added just for you, and makes its way to his face, bathing him in a dreamy glow. the reflection of light turns his eye into an icy blue, stealing your breath. he looks divine.
you take him in, as much as he does you. there's a muted sound from traffic, and the chatter of birds but in the moment, nothing else matters except you and him. his frown deepens after a moment of silence and you chuckle, relenting as you thread your hands into his hair.
"love you too, baby."
if there's anything you've learned from dating him through years, it's that your boyfriend absolutely loathes it when you fail to respond to his declarations of love. another thing, is that he becomes clingier and far more possessive when spring comes, dreading every moment he has to be away from you for matches.
it's seen in the way he's holding your body tighter, preventing you from moving an inch off the bed. he's pouty, lips twisted downward because it's the last day he has you to himself before he's called back to the field. it's on days like this that you smother him until he can't shake away the ghost of your lips around his body, even in the middle of a match.
"gonna let me move anytime soon?" the hand on his head moves to glide down his neck, stroking the sensitive skin around the back of his ear. you watch as he moans, his eyes snapping shut at the touch. "mein kaiser?"
"wenn du so weitermachst." his voice is low, his heart beating faster as he moves from his previous position to hover above you with half lidded eyes. "du wirst dich überhaupt nicht bewegen können, liebling."
translation: if you continue to be like this, you won't be able to move at all, darling.
you suppose there's a reason he's down on earth rather than above. michael kaiser may have the looks of an angel but he acts like the devil.
he's looking down at you with a dangerous glint in his eyes, as if ready to eat you alive. you gulp, eyes roaming down the expanse of his chest before they land on the necklace dangling by his neck. the ring it holds is 24 carats, gold, with roman numerals of your anniversary date engraved on the inside. it matches with the diamond encrusted promise ring on your finger, gleaming in the shade of his eyes.
you tug the necklace, pulling him until you're nose-to-nose. you shiver at the way his eyes darken even more, his lips quirking into a smirk. "who knew you were so naughty, liebling," he hums, pushing your knees apart to slot himself between your legs. "who taught you, hm?"
"you did," you say before lifting the ring to your lips, kissing it with a small smile. he shudders at the intimacy of the action. "you also taught me not to break my promises, right?"
kaiser raises an eyebrow at the direction you're taking this. he's got you on the bed, flushed, under him. to him, the only promise worth thinking about right now is the promise of intimacy and pleasure.
"i promised to dye your hair, remember?" you lean forward, this time pressing a kiss onto your beloved. "you can do whatever you want to me after we're done."
he groans, letting himself drop on your body. he giggles when you groan at his weight, his face flushing at your words. "whatever i want. that's a promise too, right?" the whisper of his voice against your ear is delightful, and you nod where you're pressed against his shoulder. "i hope you intend to keep that one too, liebling~"
he waits for a moment, savoring your warmth until you start to squirm. laughing, he hovers over you once more to press a kiss on your forehead before scooting over to make room for you to move. "gonna let me use your mask?" he grins widely when you nod, rushing over to the bathroom.
but not before stripping off his night tee and chucking it straight at your head, laughing like a mad man when you throw his beloved stuffed panda at his back in retaliation.
Tumblr media
your boyfriend has always been restless. he's never shown much patience, and you should've known that re-dyeing his hair was going to be a hassle. "hold still, mikka." your tone is scolding but not stern, your eyebrows furrowed in concentration to make sure the dye doesn't spill. "i need to make sure you look pretty."
he stops squirming at the nickname, a mischievous smile spreading on his lips as he places a hand on your hip. "you should call me mikka more often, it's cute." he looks up from his position, seated on a chair and facing your front, and wiggles his eyebrows at you. "not only when you want something."
"yeah?" you hum, distracted by the strands of his hair in your hand. you grasp at it with gloves, sectioning to thinner pieces before using a brush to smear the color in. it comes out decently and you grin in satisfaction before moving onto another strand. "glad you like it. it suits you."
kaiser stays unmoving, not even answering back like he's supposed to. concerned with the sudden silence, you look down only to be greeted by a blinding his smile. you quirk an eyebrow, smiling at him in question. "what?"
"you're so cute." he tries to shake his head, stopping when you send him a glare. the hand on your hip squeezes at the fat in affection, his eyes shining even against the brightly lit bathroom. "ich liebe dich, liebling."
"very romantic of you," you say with a roll of your eyes. you store away the bowl of blue hair dye in your hand, leaning down to press a kiss. you feel him hum against your lips, his smile widening from the kiss as he pulls you closer. "i love you too, mikka. even when you won't sit still."
"are you done yet?" he asks with wide eyes, the sight of his puppy eyes looking at you from below sending butterflies to your stomach. "can i look?"
"mhm. go ahead." you step back, making room for him to face the mirror. you watch over his shoulder as he examines his newly re dyed hair, the blue strands at the bottom a contrast to his pale blond. you were getting used to the full head of blond, getting used to having mikka all to yourself. now you've got to share him with the world again as michael kaiser makes his comeback on the field.
"you like it?"
"i love it and i love you."
"maybe we should try another color next time. like purple or pink," you say before giggling at the way his face lights up at the suggestion. you eye him in curiosity when he turns to look at you with a proud grin.
he moves quicker than you expect, grabbing your waist and setting you on the bathroom vanity. he pushes you against the mirror, planting a searing kiss on your lips. you feel him smirk against your lips as his hands move to trail down your waist, settling on your thighs.
"there. a thank you kiss for my little genius," he says, breathless from the exchange, a wicked gleam in his eyes that you're wary of. he leans his forehead against yours, pressing a kiss to your nose. "one 'i'm sorry' kiss too."
"what for-" you're about to question him but a sigh interrupts your words, one that comes from the feeling of wet hair dye trickling down your neck and clothes.
you glare as he presses another kiss in apology. "i'm sorry."
"no, you're not," you snort at the teasing smile on his face. "now i have to go bathe."
he perks up, "want me to join-"
"no."
Tumblr media
bonus:
"you really are pretty, mikka." glancing at the mirror from behind him, you watch with fascination as kaiser pushes a hello kitty hairband onto his head. it's yours, one you bought as a pair with his pink panther one. surprisingly, he likes this one more. "the prettiest."
you watch him nod to his own reflection, seemingly agreeing with your words. his newly dried hair bobs along with the motion, the strands fluffy and smooth. you'd run your hands through if you hadn't just spent the last half hour styling it.
"your prettiest-"
"-like a german pomeranian."
"...what?"
"nothing!" you laugh at the disgruntled expression he wears, shaking your head. hoping to appease him before the whining ensues, you hand him a small container filled with matcha facemask. his favorite to wear because it does wonders for his skin.
he looks at the thing as if it's offended his entire lineage. "you're seriously going to bribe me with this?" he pouts, crossing his hands against his chest.
such a big baby. your big baby, though.
"what's wrong? pomeranians are cute!"
"yeah but i'd be more of a husky," he grumbles as he pushes the pink panther hairband onto your head, clearing any hair away from your face. he uses a brush to smear the mask across, stopping every so often to peck your lips. "they're handsome, strong, and expensive."
"high maintenance, too," you mumble under your breath before shrugging. "i just like pomeranians better," you grin, scrunching your nose when he finishes with a kiss on it.
"...fine. german pomeranian it is then."

Lifting the Veil on the Bentley
Because I’ve been talking about the Bentley being Crowley’s black horse of late, I’ve had a nudge to talk about the number plate. I know it’s explained as an easter egg in relation to Monty Python, but I think we can explore it a bit further than that.
Tumblr media
It’s worth having a quick look at this older post from @fuckyeahgoodomens where they explain the inspiration was from an animated scene from Monty Python's Meaning of Life .
youtube
The following is from the linked article.
As a nod to Terry Gilliam, who once tried to do a movie version of Good Omens, Gaiman and Mackinnon threw in a little reference to Gilliam’s origins doing animation for Monty Python. “The license plate of Crowley’s Bentley is ‘Curtain’ backwards,” Gaiman said, because of the writing on the mausoleum in the suicidal leaves section of Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life. “Curtain backwards, like it’s the final curtain,” Mackinnon explained.
Tumblr media
Before I get into all the connotations of “curtains,” there should be two things you notice about the “CURTIN” written on the mausoleum. The first is the spelling itself. It’s shortened to look like the Irish surname Curtin, so the mausoleum appears to belong to a real person. Curtin is an anglicized version of Mac Curtain, which means Son of the Crooked, or Son of the Harp, as the ‘crooked’ refers the hunchback shape of the Irish harp. I wouldn’t read too much into that, its probably more just a way of getting an actual curtain reference into that scene.
The other thing is that is not just backwards, it is mirror-image, as if you are looking at it from the other side of the mirror. So we should ask ourselves – which side are we looking from? And why does this matter?
While director Mackinnon mentions it referring to the “final curtain,” we need to start even further back than that to understand what the final curtain is, because even that has two meanings, even if only in a general sense. But because this is the GOmens AU, you can guarantee we’re going to find out there is more to it than that.
We need to go beyond the veil.
To go “beyond the veil” has become a euphemism for passing into death, or that unknowable place people go once they die. It was originally a figurative reference to the area in a Jewish Temple that was separated from the main body of the Temple by decorative curtains, called veils. The veils were specially woven, often with the image of a Cherubim woven in by a skilled worker; it was not allowed to be sewed on or added later. Each panel of the veil would display a different face of the Cherubim, such as the lion on one side, an eagle on the other, and so on. Only the priests could go past the veil into the most holiest of places. The veil was symbolic of separating men and their sins from the glory of God.
The word ‘veil’ can be translated into English as ‘curtain,’ so the two words are almost interchangeable in respect of this discussion. I was interested to see that the word veil comes from the Latin word velum, which also means ‘sail,’ as in “to move, to drive a vessel or vehicle forward.” I have previously commented that the Bentley should probably be a “she,” as traditionally all ships were female, and that’s a tradition we still see carried into the modern day, thousands of years after its origin. I’ve even seen modern day space probes – little ships sailing the solar system – referred to as she! But I’ll not be pedantic about it, don’t worry.
Tumblr media
Keep your hands off my bitch, bitch.
So the curtain, or veil, is the boundary between life and death. Only – we are seeing it from the other side. And in the GOmens AU this “other side” is very real, and one Aziraphale and Crowley walk through with both ease and without much thought. They are agents of those on the other side of the veil, yet they walk with Humanity in a solid reality on the surface of the Earth. They know the other side is real. When wee Morag complains about Elspeth’s body-snatching activity that the ones she digs up and sell won’t be able to go to Heaven because they will be cut up, Aziraphale tries to tell her it’s not like that, but she's not listening:
WEE MORAG: Aye. Tell that to the poor souls who will not get into heaven 'cause their bodies are all chopped into wee pieces. AZIRAPHALE: Well, that isn't how it actually… CROWLEY: Heaven isn't all it's cracked up to be, you know. WEE MORAG: It's no right. I'm telling you. CROWLEY: Yeah.
For humans, though, there is supposed to be no return once you cross that threshold.
When we, the viewer, see the two worlds meet, it's usually signaled by the presence of fog, mist or smoke. When Lesley the delivery driver meets Death, the fog arrives, as he is no longer in the living world. When Aziraphale and Crowley leave Tadfield Manor, we have smoke telling us we are seeing two different times and places at once - the past and the present are overlaid on one another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Bentley must exist in both the Human and subliminal worlds at the same time - how else can it drive like it does? It doesn't really need Crowley's hands on the wheel to guide it. It couldn't have started out like that - it was made by humans, but we all know the Bentley is more than just a car now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It chooses the music to play on its radio, it refuses to speed when taking Aziraphale to Edinburgh until Crowley yells at it, it tries to follow the angel after he gets out at the end of the journey. How it got like this we will probably never find out, but we figure its become an extension of Crowley by close association, much like Aziraphale tends to influence the world around him without effort as well.
Tumblr media
In terms of it being a black horse - well, now we get into some interesting stuff!
Horses have been companions to humans for longer than cars have been around, so there is lots of lore and symbology associated with them. Previous metas around S2 have focused on "dark horses," as they were specifically mentioned twice in the script. But a dark horse is not necessarily a black horse, and vice versa, so lets look at some of the aspects of black horse symbology in particular that could be relevant to the Bentley and it role in traveling between worlds.
Horses were the original vehicle of the ancient world. While Famine was supposed to ride a black horse (the others were white, red and pale green for pestilence,) the black horses could also be messengers of death, a demon bringing death or a guide to the afterlife. In the Illiad, Achilles sacrifices four horses on the funeral pyre to accompany Patroclus to Hades.
[Edit: I've just put myself through the pain of watching S2E6 again, for reasons, and realised why the ethereal lift is in the entrance to the Dirty Donkey - because a black horse is a guide between worlds! Of course!]
They became associated with the Devil during the Middle Ages as the church tried to break the link to old pagan rites. The broomsticks witches ride are supposed to represent horses. And then there is the sexual connection to horses...which leads in a round-about way to the practice of nailing horseshoes up for luck and protection. Although perhaps the burning horseshoe on Jasmine Cottage is more directly linked to the story of St Dunstan tricking the Devil and making him promise he would never cross the threshold of a house that had a horseshoe nailed to the door.
Tumblr media
Our favourite Bentley has been beyond veil and returned. Though it was kept valiantly alive through the sheer will of Crowley to escape the unnatural flames of the Sigil of Odegra, it expired at the Tadfield airbase once Crowley arrived and finally released it. It was only appropriate that Crowley took a moment to acknowledge its service.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Adam restored it the next day. Resurrected it, one could say.
Time for the "final curtain" to wrap this meta up.
To "face the final curtain" is another euphemism for facing death, or at least an ending. It's the final curtain of a theatre show, after the encores are done. Its the final fall of the curtain at the end of a run. Sometimes we might say its just "curtains" for something or someone, meaning it will be ending, as a shortened form. But both Aziraphale and Crowley knows death isn't the end; its a beginning as well. Its just matter of perspective to them.
I've seen other writers associate this final curtain with the first Armagedon't, and now we appear to maybe be facing the "big one" in S3 - the Second Coming. I think that is too simplistic an association, especially for GO. The reversed side of the veil could be so many things: the final battle, the ability of our ethereal heroes to move between worlds, it could even be Crowley returning from the "death" of being one of the Fallen. As always, the meaning will be need to be considered within the context of the scene, and which side of the curtain we are looking from.

byler crumbs from the cast & crew masterpost w/ sources
I’ve freaked out as these moments have happened over the months but I thought I’d track down and compile it all with the sources to give my fellow Bylers a daily dose of optimism.
About Will
David Harbour & Finn Wolfhard - “He’s interested in someone else in the group.” “Yeah, you’ll see soon who he’s interested in.” “Very interested.” (x)
Noah Schnapp - “I don’t think it just came to be, they’re very smart, the Duffers, they outline everything from the beginning. ... They definitely know where they want to go with Will.” (x)
Duffer Brothers - And Will’s sexuality will be [addressed in vol. 2]...? “--Yes!” (x)
Noah Schnapp - “It was always kind of there, but you never really knew, is it just him growing up slower than his friends? Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike.” (x)
About Mike
Finn Wolfhard - “I think Mike’s just trying to be as normal as possible, and try to keep on a normal path. He might be into some new things, he might be a little more rebellious this year.” (x)
Finn Wolfhard - “There’s a lot of things they both have to learn about themselves, Eleven and Mike, especially for Mike, in order to have proper, like, the love Eleven wants him to give, and in all his relationships in general. It’s kind of a coming of age story within this crazy horror thing.” (x)
Finn Wolfhard - “I think Mike, like, learns a lot about himself, and a lot about how he sees his relationships with people, and yeah… a lot of understanding and growth.” (x)
Finn Wolfhard - “This season is about personal self growth when it comes to Mike and Eleven’s relationship. I think they’re finding out a lot about themselves that they wouldn’t normally know.” (x)
About Mike & Will
Finn Wolfhard - “Yeah. I think you find out slowly through the season, Will’s kind of love towards Mike and I think it’s a really beautiful thing.” How will Mike handle that? “I don’t think he really knows, I think he’s pretty clueless, but I think there’s a mu- probably a mutual understanding and acceptance.” (x)
Finn Wolfhard - *gets super flustered and keeps looking off screen when asked about Byler* “I don’t know, I’m not sure, I wouldn’t know, I, um, I don’t know really, ‘cause, um, we’re pretty early and. I’m not sure, yeah.” (x)
Charlie Heaton - “There’s definitely moments this season where they [Will & Mike] have been closer, and obviously the poster, he [Jonathan] notices he [Will] doesn’t give it to him [Mike].” (x)
Noah Schnapp - “Obviously Byler is just at its peak right now, they’re building that up, so definitely ship that.” (x)
Noah Schnapp - “They have to keep going, they can’t just end it there. In episode 8 you see Mike and him talk, it’s pretty sad. Then in episode 9 there’s an amazing scene…. you’ll have to see.” (x)
Noah Schnapp - Describes season 4 as “unexpected” and “romantic.” (x)
Noah Schnapp - “I mean, I think he wants his friend, obviously. They kind of lost that, they’re obviously super distant. But I think they’re hinting at something a little more, so I guess we’ll have to sit and see.” (x)
Little Details Matter in Stranger Things
Shawn Levy, Executive Producer - “I’ll just say that there aren’t many accidents on ‘Stranger Things,' ... There is clear intention and strategy and real thought given to each and every character. So, if you came away from Volume 1 feeling those bread crumbs of plot and character, it’s probably no accident.” (x)
Dean Zimmerman, Editor - “Like anything, it’s all those invisible decisions, those millions of decisions we make every day. Should I hang on this this long, should I cut to something, you know?” (x)
Amy Parris, Costume Designer - “So, even if you don’t see a detail, it’s there!” (x)
Amy Parris, Costume Designer - [About Robin,] “I added some triangles and equality symbols to kind of have an easter egg that there’s some LGBTQ+ imagery.” (x)
Jeff T, Subtitles Author - [About “tender emotional music” subtitle] “But going back to the leitmotifs, I really liked using ‘tender emotional music plays.’ Because it’s like, ‘Oh, it’s Joyce and Hopper,’ and it connects these moments of intimacy between characters. Our captions don’t have to be flashy, but they have to speak to the truth of the moment, and I really enjoyed using that consistently.” (x)
Leading toward Season 5
Duffer Brothers - "Going back to the original group of boys plus Eleven, the OG group. And again that's kind of setting up us coming full circle back to season 1 and you'll see that with a couple of the character arcs, not just with Will. Things are not fully resolved. The characters have maybe made steps but the journey isn't over yet and all of that is gonna play a huge role as we wrap this thing up.” (x)

Waking up on a late sunday morning was never quite as pleasant and relaxing as it had been in the summer. Even if one didn’t have a very strict work schedule at the moment. The sky outside their large bay window, though still heavily overcast with dark grey clouds, was already beginning to lighten into soft pinks and oranges.
There were two things that could make waking up so much more tolerable than this. One would be a fresh cup of coffee and the other would probably be the smell of freshly brewed pancakes and bacon frying. As you turned around and stretched your arms above your head you noticed something missing from the bed besides the empty space. You sat up and looked around. It took you a moment or two, but eventually your eyes landed on a sticky note that was on the table reading.
`I went to get groceries, but I might be back and now cooking breakfast for you, love. <3 ` After you read the note you headed. out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen, which your boyfriend smiled at you, looking up from his spot in front of the stove. “Morning. Hope you slept well, my love.” You kissed him softly and nodded. “Mmm...it was good.” You replied. “Did you have any trouble?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.
You shook your head and smiled warmly at him. He was an excellent cook who loved to learn new recipes, especially ones that seemed to appeal to his creative side. But, most importantly, he was always extremely kind and considerate even when cooking, just like everything else about him was. You loved that about him. “It was perfect actually.” you said. “Thank you, honey.” He added and gave you another quick kiss, then continued making breakfast. Your job was simply to keep him company while he cooked. Then he checked his phone and got a reminder that today was easter, which he had knew and also forgotten.
He cursed under his breath and looked up at you apologetically. You just chuckled at his silly expression. His face broke into a grin as soon as he saw the look on your face. “What is it?” You asked. “No, nothing…” he said with a smile. “Well then….what is it?” you asked again. This time he let out a sigh before answering. “I forgot that today is the day that we celebrate…” ‘’What do you mean by celebrate?” You asked. “Easter….you know….the holiday that everyone celebrates?” he responded with a hint of amusement in his voice and a small shrug. You couldn’t help laughing.
This wasn’t the first time someone forgot that Easter celebrated this day too, but it certainly hadn’t happened often before.
“Oh….yeah..I kinda forgot about it. What did you plan on doing?” He shrugged again. “I don’t know...maybe we could go to town square? Just to take a break and relax before the next long week of work.” He finished with a smirk on his lips, which you returned with a fond shake of your head and a sigh.
“Sounds great…” you said and leaned in to kiss him again. “Now eat up, baby, or it will be crowded by the time we get there.” You told him with a wink. That made him chuckle. He nodded and began cutting up his food.
After both of you had eaten and cleaned up the dishes from breakfast, they got ready to leave for town square, where people were already gathering. As the two of you walked hand in hand towards town center, they talked about what they planned to do during the week and whether or not they would do anything special with each other.
You found yourself thinking about how much you loved the feeling of your hand being held by his, intwined by a bond that cannot be broken. The two of you walking in the park, waiting for the egg hunt to start you were watching the children play and enjoying themselves immensely.
There were many different games and activities going on everywhere: there were games and games, and people running through the park chasing each other around, trying to catch them as they ran away from you.
At one point, one girl tried to throw one of her eggs into the air and catch it with the net attached to the end of a stick. She succeeded, but only after she fell down and scraped her knee. Her mother rushed over to her and helped her up. You laughed at the sight of the little girl’s mother fussing over her daughter, who was clearly embarrassed. You thought to yourself that it would be a blesssing to have a child of your own someday. Your partner must have sensed you thinking these thoughts because he squeezed your hand gently, letting you know he was listening.
A smile grew on your face at the thought of having a kid one day. When the egg hunt started a group of kids came sprinting past you on their way to their next target: a basket full of eggs. It reminded you of when you were little, yet you could still make memories similar.
The speakers propped around town went off `Egg hunt will begin in two minutes`, followed by a countdown of three.
All of the children ran back to where their family was standing and started playing. You and Leon joined meeting up at the plaza to begin, not having pay attention to the fact that Leon had been talking to the mayor.
After saying hi and taking pictures, you were on your way to the eggs when a little girl had gotten lost from her group and ended up behind you and beside Leon, who happened to be standing right in front of you. The little girl was holding a large stuffed rabbit, with its ears drooping sadly and its big sad eyes peering up at you. You felt like you needed to say something to comfort the child. “Oh...poor thing.” You said softly as you crouched down to her level and picked her up in your arms. The girl looked up at you with huge doe eyes and sniffled, “Thank you.” you smiled at her and put her back on the ground.
“Do you need anything else while you wait, sweetheart?” She grabbed both Leon’s and your hand leading you to the golden egg in the middle of the square. “Here, take this!” She offered Leon the egg. He took it in surprise and looked at it for some time. “Um…is this what you want?” you asked, looking back at the girl, nodding vigorously. “Okay…” Leon replied with a smile, tucking the egg inside his basket, as he went to do something.
You reached out to the child, but stopped short when you heard another voice behind you. You turned around quickly, expecting another little kid to collect her. It wasn’t, but Instead it was Leon taking the golden egg out of his basket lowering himself down on one knee as he faced the you. Opening the golden egg to a beautiful silver ring, looking into your eyes, “My heart, my soul, and all of my treasures towards the one girl I love. Would you marry me, Y/N?” He asked softly. You looked up at him, tears filling up the corners of your eyes.
“Yes!” you cried. You dropped to your knees in front of him and took his hands in yours, smiling up at him brightly. “Yes, of course I will, my love. Of course I will.” You answered. He smiled at you, his eyes filled with happiness. You wrapped both of your arms around his neck and stood up. As soon as you did he pulled you close and placed his soft lips on yours. Kissing him deeply and passionately.
You could hear the crowd cheering around the square, but all you could concentrate on was Leon.
You didn't care about anything else, you could have been kissing anyone, but you knew that it was him and only him that mattered.
He pulled you closer and you rested your forehead against his, smiling into his skin. Your hands moved up to his face and stroked his cheeks lightly. Your thumbs brushing across his slightly chubby cheeks before resting against the corners of his lips. He opened his mouth to speak when you heard someone clear their throat behind you.
Both of you separated abruptly, turning around, surprised that someone was there. The little girl from earlier had taken the basket of eggs from his arms and was looking at them with wide eyes as well as a shy and confused smile on her lips. You knelt down and smiled at her. “Hello, dear….do you need anything?” you asked. “Uh….no….” She mumbled, but still looking up at you with big round eyes and said, “Could you braid my hair?” You grinned widely and looked back at Leon who had a loving look on his face.
“Of course, why didn't you ask sooner!?” You exclaimed excitedly,Leon took the basket from you and you kneeled down in front of the girl. You carefully brushed her messy blonde hair, which reached her shoulders, to either side of her face. The little girl giggled at your actions and you couldn’t help but smile as well as you braided her hair.
Once done you let her sit on your lap as you tied the last knot with a blue ribbon you had brought with you earlier in case your hair was in your face. You stood up with the girl in your arms. “You have such pretty hair, missy.” You commented as you admired her braid. She nodded and then looked up at you with a grin.
As the three of you continued to walk down the street together, the little girl began talking, telling you about how fun it was to be here, and also explaining to you how much fun Easter was to everyone. You and Leon had listened carefully to every word she said, even though it was a bit hard for you to understand because most of the words seemed to come out of left field sometimes.
Yet, it somehow didn't matter because you didn't need to understand everything she was saying, just enough to listen to what she had to say until you saw her mom walking towards the two of you. “Thank you for watching my daughter, I was worried sick where she could have went!” the woman said as she gave you a hug. You patted her on the back and replied, “It’s no trouble, really, any parent would have been scared if their child disappeared.” She smiled at you and kissed her daughter on the cheek, causing you and Leon to smile too.
“So…where should we go now?” Leon said, grabbing your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours, and giving it a small squeeze. You shrugged “We should be heading home and spending the rest of the day together.”
“Sounds nice.” Leon agreed and began making his way slowly backwards toward your house. Before you got too far ahead of him, Leon turned towards you and asked with a mischievous look on his face “How about we have a little getaway party?” You chuckled, raising an eyebrow at him “A little getaway party? That sounds like a lot of work…”
“Come on, you know you want to~” Leon smirked at you seductively. You stared at him for a moment longer before rolling your eyes playfully and walking faster so you could pull away from him. Leon laughed aloud and ran after you, trying to keep up with your speed, which you knew you could easily overtake. By the time you had caught up to him again, you both doubled over with laughter, and then you began walking back home.

Soooo…. I have been inspired and I drew a thing! As you guys know, I love Barnaby and I’ve been obsessed with him for a while and even made a ask blog where you can ask him questions and I’d draw a picture, responding to the question as Barnaby! So, I was reading facts about him the other day and it said….
Tumblr media
I was wondering how or what Barnaby does to handle these types of situations where people want to die of old age, since he doesn’t have any time related powers. That’s when I realized: Barnaby needs a little assistant to help him murder his party guests!
So, I’d like to introduce you all to my first BBU OC, Bartholomew the bat!
(Psssst! If you turn him upside down and look at his face, ignore the ears, you’ll see a little Easter egg in the outline of the head! Could that be the outline of Barnaby’s head?!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would’ve liked to choose a time related name for him, but Bartholomew was his WIP name and…. I think his name fits him quite well!
Now, Bartho here has Time magic. I had to come up with all of this from scratch, since the game isn’t out yet and no time related characters have been revealed, but basically, Bartho can manipulate time on himself and on others. He can make himself and others look and feel any age he wants, using his magic, he has technically found a way to make himself immortal by rewinding time on himself, as a result, he has lived countless lives, so his backstory can be anything you want! If you can think it, he’s probably lived it!
(This makes him kinda OP, i know, but I honestly can’t think of any drawbacks to this power, so if you have a suggestion, feel free to leave a comment!)
When Bartho went to go join Barnaby’s party, Bartho surprised Barnaby by saying that he wanted all the deaths that Barnaby could possibly think of. Barnaby questioned it of course, but when Bartho explained what he could do, I’d like to imagine that Barnaby probably had a heart attack out of joy! XD
Compared to Barnaby, Bartho is extremely tiny! About the size of a mouse! Barnaby can definitely eat him, if he wanted to!
I’d like to think that he is a clockmaker who loves clocks and watches and loves to fix them!
One of my favorite ideas I’ve come up for Bartho is that when he sleeps, he sways from side to side like a pendulum on a clock!
Concept art tiiime!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These were Bartho’s concepts, and they’re not pretty. I was going to post these the other day, but after looking at them some more, I decided that I wasn’t happy with either of them, and needed to go back to the drawing board and make something that I’m actually happy with! And yes, Bartho did have a tail at one point, but I quickly scrapped that idea, created a inspirational board on Pinterest, and tried to get inspired. The things that inspired Bartho’s design is Steampunk, clocks, other bat OCs, actual bats, furries, Halloween, autumn, and Of course, Barnaby!
Tumblr media
I would have loved to have this somewhere on Bartho’s ghost design, but alas, I wanted it to be as easy to draw as Barnaby is, adding this would complicate things a lot. So I opted for a finished hourglass, signaling that his time alive is finished and that he has no need to keep track of time anymore. Because he can’t keep track of time in his ghost form, Bartho prefers to stay alive, but isn’t afraid of death, since he can just rewind time on himself. (Yay!!! My version of time magic is broken and OP! LOL!)
Before you guys ask, yes, you may make art of Bartho, just credit me as the creator of Bartho and show me if you do decide to draw them! I’d love to see! Oh! And tag it with #Bartho bat, that way I could find it easier!

Went into FNAF with low expectations and I'm glad I did. Any movie that looks THAT GOOD with legendary puppeteers creating characters that seem to have just been pulled directly from the games will have some huge drawback to it and that was the writing.
Also, when I hear "it's for the fans" coming from Hollywood of all places, I know something's up. Something got Disney-fied in order to have it appeal to a larger crowd that may water down the content.
The actors were great, LOVED Matthew Lillard and his Scream reference, the atmosphere is creepy when it needs to be and the animatronics were just perfect. The cameos and easter eggs made it so nice.
The storytelling sucks. BAD. Bad to the point that I'm going to have to sit down with my mother later after she watches it and SHOW her (because the movie has a problem with telling, not showing) what her granddaughter, my niece is actually in love with that the movie skips out on, that being the horror itself. This is a HORROR franchise and it's gotten soft over its continuation.
The script should have been given to someone who was a fan of the series, particularly the first three games (can't say the books as they seem to have their own premise), AND a horror movie buff. The movie forgets it's a horror movie and doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.
There are a lot of key pieces I would have changed to make it enjoyable for newcomers while simultaneously being for the fans:
-Make this a series and not a movie. Mike should be in jail by the end of the movie with all the stuff they glossed over. Cop gets gravely injured and he and his sister are the only witnesses? With Afton "dead" and locked away, who else could have done it? The woman he's in a custody battle with is lying dead on his floor AND he has a history of violence and drug use? Yeah. No. This needed more time to deal with its issues or be rewritten entirely which I am all for.
-Garrett's disappearance needed to have a DIRECT line to the pizzeria instead of happening in the middle of BFE Nebraska.
-Nix the dream crap. Mike should have been killed the first time he ever fell asleep in that place. Next security guard, please. Though, I will say, if he falls asleep or he loses consciousness, they could have Garrett communicate with him to give a couple of clues on what he needs to do next and warn him to stay away from the animatronics.
-Speaking of animatronics, they're vengeful spirits that should go after anything with a pulse. Or at least any adult with a blindness for faces. While I can excuse how they acted around Abby, I can't excuse it around Mike or Vanessa. They should get the same treatment the idiots who broke into the place did regardless of who they are.
-Utilize the cameras more to keep an air of mystery and horror going. Maybe have Mike chase some kid through the place like Max did only to go look back at the cameras to see that he wasn't chasing anything or if he sees a kid on the cameras, he goes to find them only to find the respective animatronic standing there instead. Lean harder into the paranormal aspect.
-Have Afton's motives actually explained. WHY was he doing this? What was his end goal of killing kids and putting them in suits? Yeah, it can be a simple answer, but not one given in the movie. Also, have him more involved in the plot. Have him physically haunting the place as Springtrap. Having Mike ask him "Why" and him answering "Why not?" would be fucked up as hell and mirror real-life child kidnappings/murders. Grieving families do ask the killers of their loved ones "Why?"
-Nix Vanessa. OG fans remember when we had to piece things together through visuals. Not exposition. Mike should find out about the other disappearances through articles and such, even Garrett's disappearance which he could be trying to solve, and stumbled upon a golden opportunity when he found a Craigslist ad for a Night Guard for the very place his brother went missing. Besides, Vanessa has her own lore that wouldn't be in play until later additions to the franchise. Nothing like finding out the body of a dead child is hiding in one of the animatronics by "injuring" the animatronic to keep up the horror aspect.
-I would have kept the family angle with Mike knowing Afton was his father, he just used "Mike Schmit" to get a job at the place his father is protective over to investigate instead of "Michael Afton", given how common "Schmit" is. Afton himself probably wouldn't recognize him unless face to face.
-Bring in Henry Emily. Give a red herring that maybe HE'S the one behind all of it. Have him investigate at the same time Mike is and neither trust each other with that information, causing them to suspect one another.
You see, this movie would have been ten times better if they used what was already there instead of using an entirely different story with the same characters. They could have used old cliches and made them work.

Mr Brown's "Dick Turpin"
A mega tribute to Mr Brown, meant for Valentine's Day, (belated... Deadlines? What are they? A Very Merry Un-Valentine's Day To You) In a giggly mood and might just have a tiny weeny pash on Mr Brown,
The local heart-throb of Whickber Street
Oh no! Did you hear that to the melody of "The demon barber of fleet street," as I did just now?
Tumblr media
[above image: original final phrase of The Ballad of Sweeney Todd, transcribed in the key of G minor and slightly modified for alternate lyrics.]
No no no no no, I cannot have that and must fix it immediately. Mr Brown is to have an easy-listening, jazz-hands version. A fun and cheesy theme tune, but for added silliness, I'll keep the melody, arrange it for four-part closed harmony and change the key from G minor to B flat Major...
Stay tuned, but for now, time to be getting on with it.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Tumblr media
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
In Good Omens Season 2, episode 2, we are introduced to the delightful Mr Brown (portrayed by Tim Downie), of Brown's World of Carpets, Whickber Street, Soho, London. He is also the current president (?) of The Whickber Street Traders and Shopkeepers Association and seems to have been so for several years.
On first impression, Mr Brown is cheerful, energetic and highly social as he zips about the pub. He claims not to be a superstitious man, unassuming (with no hint of passive-aggression) when it comes to appearing to be avoided by others.
However he does have a particular skill in coercion (and coercion might be too strong a word): "Mr Fell has just been telling me how much he's looking forward to hosting our monthly street association get-together." I don't know how to describe what kind of a statement this is, for it's not a lie, it's definitely truth and fits perfectly to cover any and every possible version, no matter what Aziraphale did, or in this case didn't say. It's masterful. Also, there's something about Mr Brown's tone, is it...
Firm, but maybe in a good way? Does he himself have an intuition about people who need a little more than a gentle push toward civic obligation, or bringing someone else out of their hermit shell, to participate in social situations?
But underneath all that, is he himself a lonely person? When he's not trying to find someone to host the next month's meeting, does he really have a hard time keeping a conversation going and needs to carry with him, a lifeline of sorts?
Book quote in the X-Ray trivia for episode two: "Daily Mail. 'Letter from America'. Um, August the third," said Newt. "Just after the story about the woman in Worms, Nebraska, who taught her duck to play the accordion."
If this isn't only an Easter egg from the Good Omens book, then it seems to have been given a purpose that may or may not have a follow-through in season three:
The front-page headline of the newspaper attached to Mr Brown's clipboard is his conversation piece! It is to him, as the "Dick Turpin" was, to Newton Pulsifer.
He so wants for someone to ask him - everyone's eyes dart to it, but they have a feeling, that they know better than to ask!
Still, Mr Brown makes every effort to keep the sensational headline in full view of anyone he hopes to have this conversation with, while somehow avoiding permanent injury to his left elbow!!
Does he not have any friends (making friends as an adult is hard) and has difficulty engaging in small talk?
Is it just an article Mr Brown loves and desperately wants to talk about it with anyone? Someone he could also vavoom with? Awww.
He's just a person, in front of another person, silently asking them to please mention the newspaper headline. (Thank you Richard Curtis.)
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Episode Two:
Tumblr media
Aziraphale and Crowley enter the Dirty Donkey. Mr Brown is standing at a table and talking with the people seated there. Is he only really at the pub trying to find someone to host the next Whickber Street Traders and Shopkeepers Association monthly meeting? If so, he's not having any luck, especially talking to three people at once - they have the advantage of strength in numbers, and can all turn him down, supporting each other if need be.
Then, seeing Mr. Fell sitting alone, he POUNCES!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Startling Aziraphale, who, while typically recognising and helping a human in distress (he did want to help Maggie that morning, he was just literally "a bit out of miracles" and wasn't being mean), he's also "just enough of a bastard" and is not going to indulge Mr Brown's subtle cry for attention. Mr Brown isn't in great distress in this moment anyway, though behind his smile, I don't know, he might be a tad desperate by this point?
Aziraphale has no memory of saying that he would "be delighted to host one of [the] monthly get-together's" - it's either a straight-up lie on Mr Brown's part, a lie that Aziraphale doesn't even remember making himself, or, it never happened but IS part of Adam's history reboot and his cheeky contribution to The Ineffable Plan.
If Mr Brown was ever previously in the habit of asking nicely, I can imagine that over time, unfortunately, being nice just became less effective. People being people. He's assertive here, well in control of this one-way conversation, his decision to have Mr Fell host the meeting already made.
I wonder how different his carpet sales technique might be? I'd love to see him comfortable in the sanctuary of his domain.
Tumblr media
As Aziraphale and Crowley are leaving the pub, Mr Brown can be seen holding his clipboard high and close to his face, while speaking with a person wearing a tiger striped outfit at the bar. Earlier in the scene she is happily conversing with another, directly behind Crowley as he ordered drinks for himself and Aziraphale at the bar.
Tumblr media
Her now non-smiling expression while briefly glancing down to the newspaper says that she has no intention of falling for it either!
Tumblr media
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
It's going to take someone truly kind to give Mr Brown's "Dick Turpin" the time of day. And even then, will that person suffer instant regret?
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Episode Five:
Tumblr media
As he is entering the bookshop, does Mrs. Sandwich instantly recognise and turns away to avoid Mr Brown, as his reputation proceeds him? Could it be that the two ladies in the pub were Mrs. Sandwich's Girls / Mrs. Sandwich's Fine Stable of Ladies on break, or on the prowl for customers, introducing the "new model (with, or known as) friendly hands" to the community? Maybe that's why Mr Brown was speaking with the lady wearing the tiger stripes, because she's a new face in town and was just introducing himself as "The President of the Whickber Street Traders and Shopkeepers Association." Had they given Mrs Sandwich fair warning about him after that?
Mr Brown opens the bookshop door with his right hand and not even the teeniest hint of the clipboard or newspaper is seen in frame, as he has both arms held at length by his sides. Though he must have been holding that blasted clipboard in his left hand, because sure enough, even with his conversation under the influence of the Jane Austen Ball-spirit-miracle, there he is, hoping Nina will take the bait.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Ah, the one time he is clipboard-less, not just because of the Jane Austen miracle in effect but also likely because everyone is being musically queued to grab a partner and hit the dance-floor.
Tumblr media
I love how he ends up dancing with the lady wearing leopard spots - we don't see him giving anything in return for her polite encouraging smiles (How can he have such a poker face while also looking gorgeously tender? Just look at him turning with Maggie, above. Is it more to do with the overwhelming situation of experiencing human touch after everyone going so long without such closeness?).
He could be incredibly intimidated by such a confident-looking woman with excellent posture (oops, I think I'm jealous and want to be her, hopeful to vavoom with Mr Brown, or just to tease him with smiles, daring him to smile back) and in awe of her wearing an animal [faux] skin pattern - the original carpet!!! Well, the man does have an eye for carpets.
Did he marvel at Mr Fell's carpets earlier in the day when delivering the seats for the meeting? (There's also the carpet on Aziraphale's chair, which may be similar in design for Nanny Crowley/Astoreth's carpet bag?)
Tumblr media
If everything is to happen in three's, then will Mr Brown vavoom with the next person to wear the spots or stripes of a large wild cat?
Then, finally (my favourite reaction) *cough cough* "Madam" Shax - the last to see the newspaper fully intact, slowly turns and looks him down and up.
Tumblr media
It happens to be the second reference to ducks Shax has been exposed to within a week aaannd in addition to Mr Brown being nothing but a "poultry human," maybe this is enough to really p*** her off?
Ducks again! What about storks, huh?!?
Tumblr media
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Episode Six:
Crowley escorts Nina and Maggie back to the coffee shop. As an afterthought, he gently returns Mr Brown to Earth and kindly so, without the memory of detainment and likely taunting by his demon captors.
Tumblr media
(I'm having too much fun right now, imagining a missing scene, right after Justine asks, "Is he alright?" and Crowley answers, "not likely." Cut to a scared Mr Brown somewhere in the basements of Hell, being circled by demons. No no, wait, there's no choice but to take the stairs back down first, bahaha!!! So, a couple of demons are each carrying Mr Brown by his elbows. A third demon, tasked with carrying the clipboard, makes the mistake of asking about the newspaper - maybe trying to read what's left of it - and then Mr Brown easily manages to switch from his frightened state, to story-telling mode. Do the demons become the tortured? Or are they ... impressed? They snap out of their demon facade and suddenly they're all having a grand time, all the way down to Mr Brown's cell, where they continue to have the best chat of their lives and there are no hard feelings. A gazillion points for team humanity and a win-win.)
Even now that hungry hungry demons have taken a couple good chomps out of it, Mr Brown shows no sign of wanting to get rid of his clipboard and newspaper, for it has added interest now!
Tumblr media
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Will it be revealed that he is somehow related to the woman in the newspaper article, Janelle Keene, whether as close as a family member, a very distant relative, or someone completely unrelated, via 6 degrees of separation?
Here I'm reminded of Mel Brooks' 1987 film, Spaceballs (predominantly a Star Wars parody) -
Tumblr media
Dark Helmet(portrayed by Rick Moranis): I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. Lone Starr(portrayed by Bill Pullman): What's that make us? Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing!
Though I can imagine it would involve a much longer explanation on who's who, if he wants to, a-hem, witter on (Is "6 degrees of separation" basically, "I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows..."? Remember "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon?" seems much easier to do with film actors..) but Mr Brown seems like the "get in, get the job done, get out" efficient kind and I can hear him delivering a concise and likely well-rehearsed-in-front-of-the-bathroom-mirror-every-morning one-liner like above.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
(Am I entering fan-fiction territory now?)
Season Three Speculation
So who would be likely to take the bait, or better yet, have the ability to recognise someone in need of connection and taking the time to listen, really making their day?
I can think of one person kind* enough, who may have already met Mr Brown sometime during the unseen portion of episode 1, perhaps in a lonely moment where, say, Mr Brown was considering throwing away the newspaper, for his shy attempt to connect with people wasn't working.
He may have even considered giving up on asking others to host the monthly meetings and it may have been for a while, that he was hosting most all of them himself, with barely any attendees, though Maggie was always there. If Maggie has any vices at all, let it be that while she claims to never miss a meeting, she actually just dawdles around in the record shop taking her time to lock up, then sneaks into meetings late, in time for the end! Maybe that's why she was the last to arrive at The Ball perhaps?
This kind person shows up in Soho and has some free time to himself before needing to catch a plane, so he wanders about, ending up in Brown's World of Carpets. Coincidentally, his home (might it be in Tadfield? No.6, Hogback Lane?? phone no. ending in "668"??? Might he go by "Mr Johnson"????) may be in need of some new carpeting too …
Then, seeing the lonely shop owner, he kindly reaches out, having a lovely conversation about the article in the newspaper that seems to be on its way to the recycling bin, and is genuinely interested in Bridget, the accordion-playing duck.
With Mr Brown feeling warm'n'fuzzy and valued, a renewed sense of hope and a spring in his step, results in the version of him we see the next afternoon at the pub, in episode two.
His "Dick Turpin" had finally worked - surely it can work again?
The ineffability of it all! He finally sees Mr Fell in person again after several years!
Mr Fell, who that very morning was concerned about being "a bit out of miracles" and has just used a miracle to free up a table (were "those 3 nice people" angel doctors? Does Heaven have an excellent health plan, even for former angels?) he may currently "not have enough spoons" for the kind of miracle necessary to keep Mr Brown away this time.
Meanwhile, the kind person arrives in America, but then chooses to abandon his original plans: "What the hellaven, I have GOT to see this accordion-playing duck. Worms, Nebraska, here I come!"
*a.k.a, "hand-on-face-guy."
♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪
When you go will you send back a Letter From America?
♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪
Now, that was me having a great old time letting my imagination run wild and I hope that it was an entertaining read :)
But wait, there's more! After asking the internet, "Does Route 66 run through Nebraska?" I've learned the following tid-bits:
In Nebraska there is a State Highway 66, not the same as THE U.S Route 66. (Might this be how he gets lost, or where he will be while an American decoy is on route 66?);
Worms is found about half-way down the very long 2nd Road;
Places in Nebraska aside from the small village of Worms, include: Archer, Bee, La Vista and Wahoo. (imagine Crowley turning up and asking the town-folk, "Can I get a Wahoo?" and finally getting the feel-good moment of a decent enthusiastic response; Hastur having some kind of moment in La Vista.)
And the more time spent on google maps, there are bound to be more Good Omens-related places to discover!

Tumblr media
I was today years old (sometime during late Feb 2024) when browsing photos in X-ray, to find that this image (hidden in episode 3's x-ray, which makes no sense... swapped, for episode 2 newspaper clippings I suppose) is the FULL front page, and not just the photo with headline. The portion that was always folded under, out of sight (and therefore out of mind), it includes a legible story. A story expanded from a single line in a book written over thirty years ago and modified slightly to be relevant to near-present day events. How amazing!

THE challenges of having to stay indoors over the course of this past year have caused a multitude of unique and strange occurrences the world over. From social media challenges to the rise in popularity of rare indoor plants, we've come to expect the next big trending topic to arrive in the form of something entirely baffling.
Most recently, a Nebraskan woman used her time during the lockdown order in the United States to do the unthinkable. Janelle Keene, twelve-time Beaver County Accordion Association Champion and owner of Bridget, a domesticated duck, decided to take on an impossible challenge. Janelle decided to teach her duck, Bridget, to play.
"She took to it like a duck to water," said Janelle, who claims to have invented an intricate system of pulleys and levers to allow Bridget to press on the keys of the accordion. "She hasn't quite got the hang of reading sheet music yet but she's practicing her scales and it's starting to sound more like music."
Janelle's been uploading footage of her teaching journey with Bridget to a video sharing site and the response has been very supportive. One commenter wrote, "I had no idea ducks could be so emotive and create such poetry with their feet. Bridget's cover of 'Don't Stop Me Now' by Queen brought a tear to my eye. Freddy Mercury would be proud."

Well, I gotta know what's on page 4 now!
And wow, what's the likelihood of Crowley being the one taking to social media and making that particular comment? Sitting in the Bentley, watching on his smartphone, a little sniffle, sobbing-singing along to the speed of Bridget's playing, "Don't... Stop... Me... Knah-ah-ah-ah-ah-oo-oo-hoo". Later in the bookshop, sharing with Aziraphale, keen to see his reaction… And if Crowley were to know that Freddy Mercury would be proud!?!!
Of course Mr Brown is just as likely to be following Bridget's progress on socials - the quoted comment may be his and all the more to share, with fellow humans, hopefully with Crowley...
... and possible demon pals???

As always, please no asking or tagging Mr Gaiman as this blog post contains theory, wishful thinking/fan-fiction(?) and speculation, thank you.

Netflix Avatar the Last Airbender S1E5: Spirited Away Review [SPOILERS]
Overall, a strong and creepy episode. With its titular callback to Miyazaki, this one had a very different sensibility from the prior episodes, but I liked it. I wasn't so sure about bringing Katara and Sokka into the spirit world, but we got some really important scenes there.
THE GOOD
Katara and Sokka flashbacks in the Spirit World: I was initially skeptical when Katara and Sokka went along with the spirit world journey. But there was a strong emotional character-building payoff with seeing both of those painful flashbacks. The trauma of Katara witnessing her mother's death, and the emotional pain of Sokka's barely passed ice dodging trials -- a new memory of Hakoda that added something to Sokka's character.
Koh the Face Stealer/Fog of Lost Souls: Man, Koh was creepy. The Fog was creepy.
Better placed fan service: The callbacks to the cartoon in this episode were much more organically placed than "my cabbages" and the minstrels from earlier episodes. Sokka referencing Pippin Paddleopsicopolis. The men in the tavern talking about the canyon crawlers ("Great Divide") or battling the volcano ("Fortuneteller"). They were little easter eggs that didn't draw too much attention to themselves. Even the Knowledge Owl ("The Library") had a story-driven purpose, more or less.
THE I-APPRECIATED-WHAT-THEY-WERE-DOING-BUT-NOT-SURE-THEY-PULLED-IT-OFF
Gyatso in the Spirit World: I wanted to like the concept of Aang finding Gyatso in the Spirit World. I liked Gyatso "cheating" at Pai Sho and the warmth that showed. I even kind of liked Gyatso's slightly awful "we do it for the ones you love" exposition speech at the end of the episode, corny as it was. But I felt cheated out of that warmth in the Episode One, when that would have made a difference in emotional heft when Aang discovered his body. Now it just seems... cheap? Because he's back? And it undercuts the weight of the Aang's loss of his entire nation and people.
The thinness of the spirit world barrier: Ultimately, the show had to get these characters into the spirit world, so I don't fault the show for pulling a little "oh I can just feel it" Jedi Knight/Avatar once-over on the audience. On the one hand, this show keeps telling us (not showing us) that Aang 'doesn't know what he's doing.' And then on the other hand, it dumps spirit world mumbo jumbo exposition on us through Aang clearly kind of knowing what he's doing by referencing what "the monks told me." It's kind of jarring. It at once makes him seem wise while undercutting the message they're trying to convey about him not knowing what he's doing.
THE BAD
Clunky dialogue continues: "I also need to help these people..." "The avatar has to do the impossible..." Every time Aang talks about how he should have been there, should have protected the forest, needing to help people, it just feels so forced. Just show him helping people. You don't need to have him announce that he wants to help people.
Talking exposition fox: What the heck?
THE UNKNOWN
Narratively tying Aang, Zuko, and Azula together/Azula: The close of this episode, narrated by Gyatso in corny fashion, drew explicit parallels between the stories of Aang, Zuko, and, surprisingly, Azula. I am not sure whether this is going to pay off yet, as Azula's arc in this show has yet to be fully realized, but it does seem they are taking her in a different direction from the prodigal, "born lucky" daughter from the show. It shows her vulnerable, desperate for her father's approval. I am interested in this take -- and in how Ozai masterfully plays his children against one another -- and want to see more of where it goes.

Easter eggs
Or a dirty joke leads to a something only Eva could come up with
(Based on the easter egg butt poll)
No smut, just pretty nsfw
Tumblr media
It had been a dumb joke she’d made.
A dumb joke brought on when she groped his ass while he was distracted earlier when he was in the garage.
Joked about finding two perfect Easter eggs and hoping to find two more so he’d stop trying to fix up his car and pay attention to her.
Now Jack’s naked on the bed trying to stay as still as he can while Eva paints his ass cheeks as Easter eggs.
Two wonderfully firm Easter eggs she’d photograph and keep for herself while he keeps the matching one of the tits he hopes to paint.
“Once it’s done, you can do the same to me.” The witch says when he flinched away from the brush.
“You’re fucking nuts, Evie.” Jack was ticklish, not very ticklish, but sensitive enough to buck against the bed from the sensation of the paint and brush against his backside.
If the paint had been dry, she'd smacked her masterpiece for saying that.
“You knew that from the moment I sucked your dick in a confessional, baby.” She reminds him as she added the finishing touches to his left ass cheek.

Shadow and Veil-Chapter Twenty Six
Tumblr media
Summary: Eva Moore’s life was a carefully constructed fiction.  Every day, she did exactly what her mother in law, her husband, and his  best friend expected of her. No mistakes. And, that was going pretty  well for Eva right up until a huge complication literally tried to run  her over. Now, she’s faced with trying to keep the pieces of her life  from falling apart while attempting (and failing) to keep her feelings  for her husband’s new business partner at bay.
A/N: This fic is a sister-fic to A Need So Great and A Need Unleashed.  You do not need to have read ANSG or ANU to read this fic, but there  are Easter eggs from those fics in Shadow and Veil for readers with keen  eyes.  This fic is explicit for canon-compliant blood, gore, violence,  and sex. As such, it is intended for an adult audience, only. A/B/O  dynamics come with their own warning. Anyone under the age of 18 should  not interact with this work. I do not consent to reposting this work to  other platforms. Reblog only to Tumblr.

She stole away in the dead of night. There was no other time to escape the notice of her husband and Eva definitely did not want to be caught.
Something wasn’t right when he got back to the house. Eva did her best to do everything exactly the same as she always did—meetings, spreadsheets, a cup of coffee too late in the day. But, the heaviness that fell over the both of them refused to lift no matter how many mundane activities she forced herself through.
Josh was becoming more manic by the day. Alexei was almost never around. And, Horacio was uncharacteristically silent.
The pressure made her skittish. It forced her to make a phone call to rearrange a previously scheduled appointment.
Eva slipped out the terrace doors and around the side of the house. She carefully put the car in neutral and rolled it out of her driveway, letting the decline of the street carry her half a block in the wrong direction before she felt safe enough to put it in drive.
The night was cold. Frost was dusting the edges of the windshield and the heater was taking too long to catch up. Eva grit her teeth against the shivers and kept driving. There wasn’t much traffic, but she kept her speed under the limit. She stopped fully at every stop sign and monitored her mirrors. It wasn’t until she hit a red light that she realized her hands were shaking.
She was afraid.
A suspicion that nagged at the back of her mind was slowly moving forward to overtake other thoughts. Eva couldn’t be sure, but it felt like Josh knew. Knew that she was planning on leaving him. Knew where she spent the last weekend. Knew who she spent that weekend with.
It was like a fever dream, so fragile that the lightest application of rational thinking might shatter the whole thing. They didn’t leave the apartment for two days. He cooked meals for her, dishes that she’d never had. Introduced her to spices and flavors she couldn’t find at the local grocer. He paid attention to the things she liked, added more to the next meal.
It was much the same way in bed.
Eva’s body warmed as she recalled waking on the second day. She was laying on her side and she could feel Horacio curled around her. His palm was rubbing a slow path from her waist down to her hip and further down to her thigh. When he noticed she was awake, his hand took a new path at the top to cup her breast.
His thumb circled her nipple lazily before rolling the sensitive tip between two fingers. Eva sighed and leaned back into his chest. She could feel him half hard against the small of her back. How long had he been awake? Eva couldn’t see the clock, but the light in the room was a pale gray.
Horacio’s mouth touched her shoulder. She arched her neck, releasing another sigh when he rested his forehead into the curve and inhaled deeply. His hand smoothed down her stomach and teased the skin in the crease of her hip. She lifted her leg and rested it on the thigh he pressed forward.
Warm fingers skimmed her slit, spreading the folds. He massaged the hidden nerves on either side with a touch that was enough to bring her fully into waking but not enough to go beyond the first hint of arousal.
Up. Down. Slow, slow, slow.
Eva whined and pushed her hips into his hand, earning a sleep roughed laugh from Horacio. He just kept going at the slow pace until she was warm and wet and swollen. It didn’t matter if she begged. A ‘please’ or ‘more’ wasn’t going to deter him.
When she thought she might cry from the need blooming from her center, Horacio leaned over and spoke low and sweet into her ear, “You know what I’m thinking?”
Her ‘what?’ was lost in the constant sighs and moans pouring out of her throat.
He pulled his hand from between her legs and rolled her to her back. Looking directly into her eyes, he said, “I’m thinking that its time for breakfast.”
Eva was confused right up until he dropped down under the covers.
The light turned green.
Breaths coming faster, Eva dug her foot into the accelerator and made the merge onto the highway. The headlights rolled over asphalt, each mile taking her closer and closer to downtown. She didn’t bother trying to hide her car this time. There was no one out and about to notice.
Eva hurried into the building and up the stairs to Bobbi Lynn’s door. She knocked quietly and took a step back to wait. Movement on the other side of the door. It opened and Bobbi Lynn waived her inside. She looked both ways down the hall before closing the door.
Bobbi Lynn looked stressed. Her normally meticulously styled hair was pulled into a messy braid and there were dark circles under her eyes.
“What’s wrong?”
Her mouth pursed, “I think you need to go tonight.”
Eva blinked at her, “Why?”
Moving past Eva, Bobbi Lynn sat on the couch and patted the cushion next to her, “My husband was at the country club, too.”
With wooden steps, Eva went to the couch and sat down. She folded her hands in her lap and waited for Bobbi Lynn to explain.
“Eva,” she began, “I am so sorry. I didn’t know what was going on.”
Her mind whirred with the many interpretations to that sentence. Was it Josh beating the shit out of her? Was it the illegal drug ring? Was it the investigations? Was it Horacio? There were just too many things that were ‘going on’ for her to know how to react.
“Josh had a fight with his friend—the blond one. They were trying to be discreet, but he went to have a cigar in the garden and overheard part of it.” Bobbi Lynn paused with an audible swallow, “Eva, honey, Josh is gonna throw you to the wolves.”
Its the investigation, then.
Eva looked away and pretended she was processing a new fact.
Bobbi Lynn touched her hand, “His friend was very angry with him, said that you didn’t deserve to go to prison for the rest of your life. Josh...well, I knew he didn’t care much for you, but I didn’t know he could be so cruel.”
I knew, Eva thought. I’ve known for a long time.
“There’s more,” she continued, “Josh said that he was planning on using you as ‘leverage’ against someone named Diego. Does that make any sense to you?”
Eva nodded, “He’s a business partner. Josh has been trying to get one over on him for months. He thinks that because the man is an alpha and I’m an omega that I can, I don’t know, wear him down or something.” She took a breath, “So far, he hasn’t been successful.”
“Ah.”
“I’m afraid if Josh keeps pushing it, Diego will do something rash.”
Bobbi Lynn’s brows drew together, “Rash?”
“Yeah,” Eva sighed, “He seemed pretty mad last time.”
I’ll make you regret it.
Her friend was silent for a few seconds, “I still think you should go tonight. I can make a call, get you on a boat down the Mississippi.”
As grateful as Eva was for that offer, she still had to go back to the house, “Thank you. Really. But, I think we need to stick to the plan.”
Rising, Bobbi Lynn went to her sewing box and retrieve a small package. Inside it, Eva would find a passport, bank account, id, and plane ticket. In five days, she would fly to Mexico and disappear.
The plan was an abstraction until Eva held that envelope in her hand. She ran her fingers over the plain paper, felt its weight. A sense of guilt wormed its way into her chest. Not for leaving Josh, but for holding all of this back from Horacio. Especially after the nights they spent together.
“This, too,” she said as she pressed a bottle into Eva’s palm.
“Thank you, Bobbi Lynn,” Eva managed around a tight throat. She pushed the bottle into the center of her bra for safe keepng.
“Don’t thank me yet,” she replied, “I have more to tell you.”
Eva glanced up at the women with raised brows.
Sitting next to Eva, Bobbi Lynn once more touched her hand, “The feds closing in is hitting too close to home for us. We can’t be seen as a player in Josh’s game. Do you understand what I’m saying to you?”
She did understand. The senator and his wife couldn’t have the bad press of being associated with the downfall of a local doctor and pharmacologist. Especially if it meant unapproved pills being shipped across state lines. Josh would get no protection from the charges that would be leveled at him in the coming weeks.
“I’m sorry, Eva,” Bobbi Lynn, “I know that we’re friends, but its an election year and we can’t have a federal investigation hurting the campaign.”
“I know,” Eva replied, “I’m not offended.”
Bobbi Lynn nodded, “And, because we’re friends, I have to tell you that the warrant will be served in two weeks. They’ve got enough to raid your factories and your house. If you have anything you need to get rid of, do it now.”
Its time.
Eva stood, “Thank you. For everything. I mean it.”
“You’re welcome, honey.”
“I don’t want to be rude, but I need to get back.”
Bobbi Lynn waved her off, “That’s okay. I completely understand.”
They stalled near the door, looking at eat other. Years of luncheons, parties, galas, and secret meetings were suddenly at an end. Eva knew that she might never see Bobbi Lynn again, certainly not after Josh’s dealings became public knowledge. She felt a pang of bittersweet melancholy twist in her chest.
A quick hug and a discreetly wiped away tear, and Bobbi Lynn was opening the door. Her smiled dropped and a look of fear overtook her expression. Curious, Eva peered around the door to find Alexei standing on the far side of the hallway, leaning causally against the wall.
“Hello, Birdie.”
God. Fucking. Damn it.
With one hand, Eva guided Bobbi Lynn to the side. With the other, she slipped the envelope into Bobbi Lynn’s hand and held it there until the other woman’s fingers wrapped around it. She didn’t know how much Alexei knew and she didn’t want to risk her future by allowing him to discover just how far she was willing to go to get away.
More than that, she would never get over the guilt if he thought Bobbi Lynn was interfering. She would not sacrifice her friend like she did Dr. Martin.
“Alexei,” Eva bit out, “Or, am I dealing with Zero now?”
He flinched at the use of his nickname, but recovered only a moment later, “It just Alexei, Birdie.”
How long would he be Alexei to her once the warrant was served?
Eva could feel Bobbi Lynn shaking next to her, “I’m gonna go.” Then, “Goodbye, Bobbi Lynn.”
Stepping out in the hall, Eva waited for Bobbi Lynn to close the door behind her before she turned and walked down the steps to the lobby. Her pace was almost leisurely despite the hammering of her heart. She had a little too much pride to show Alexei just how scared she was.
A part of her wondered if she could scream loud enough to wake Horacio. As she exited the building, she turned to look up over her shoulder towards the top floor. It was a risk.  A big one. And, she didn’t know if there was much he could do without destroying his cover.
No.
Better to handle this herself.
Eva stopped next to the driver’s side door of her car, “Now what?”
Alexei ran a hand through his hair, “You know I’m not going to be able to keep this from Josh.”
“Just what do you think this is?”
He pushed his hands into his pocket, “It looks like you’re trying to find a way out.”
Eva deflated on the inside. She didn’t know what she hoped would come out of Alexei’s mouth, but it definitely wasn’t the truth.
“Alright,” she muttered, “what are you going to do about it?”
The ice blue of Alexei’s eyes swayed to the side. She let him think about it, knowing that his answer would determine everything that would happen in the near future.
“I think,” he began, “that we need to get you home. I can handle Josh.”
Her eyes narrowed, “I disagree. From what Bobbi Lynn told me, you guys had a falling out in Texas.”
Alexei’s weight shifted. He seemed to grow taller, more fearsome, “Is that what she told you? Did she tell you anything else, or is local gossip the reason you drove all the way out here in the middle of the night?”
She could lie to him, but something told her he would catch it, “The warrant will be served in two weeks.”
His chin lifted and his shoulders straightened, “How does she know?”
“Oh, please,” she sneered, “remember who her husband is.”
Nodding, Alexei lapsed once more into thought. Then, “That doesn’t change anything. I’m taking you home. We’ll talk with Josh in the morning. Give me the keys.”
Eva pulled the keys from her pocket and slung them at him. Then, she went to the passenger’s side door and got in the car. She slammed the door closed to drive home the point that she was upset. Alexei ignored it.
The trip to the house was spent in tense, angry silence. Eva sulked with her arms crossed, watching the road go from concrete dividers to manicured lawns. Alexei sped along, uncaring that they were going fifteen above the limit. Occasionally, he tapped the radio, looking for a new station that wasn’t playing commercials.

Okay I did it, lol. I spent way too much time on this, don't let it flop. Here's the evidence I could find both for against the Will's Birthday theory. Apologies for the length.
Simplest Explanation first.
THE DUFFERS AND EVERY SINGLE WRITER, CREW, AND CAST MEMBER FORGOT WILL'S BIRTHDAY:
The evidence for this point of view is pretty straightforward. First, the Duffers themselves, in two separate interviews, one in a article and another that was a sit-down video interview, said they simply forgot. They apologized profusely to fans, and to the character of Will Byers himself. In the second interview, they mentioned that they had received a master document of all important dates from a super-fan, so this wouldn't happen again. They confirmed they were likely going to go back and change the birthday to May 22nd, though...they haven't done so as of yet.
Secondly, it's pretty farfetched that every in-universe character completely and totally forgot Will's birthday. Even if they did have other shit they were dealing with. But really. You think Joyce is forgetting Will's birthday? Or Jonathan? Mike, maybe, for reasons I'll get into later. But still probably not. There's just not an explanation that makes sense to me, which is why I still kind of believe it was the Duffers mistake. However...
THE DUFFERS ARE LYING AND HAVE DROPPED EASTER EGGS THROUGHOUT THE SHOW AND OTHER PLACES TO HINT AT THIS:
Okay, so there's more in terms of sheer number of evidence for this, but it's not all compelling. There's not a definitive smoking gun. Just a bunch of small things, that might add up into something bigger.
So first under this is...what are the chances this was an accident? Like that's extremely bad luck for this day to be chosen by happenstance. 1 out of 365 days? That's 0.27%. Not even a full percentage point.
Next is...there's not a lot of dates to keep track of in Stranger Things. You're telling me that a whole room of writers, both of the Duffers, Shawn Levy, and the entire cast didn't remember this particular one? Possible I guess, but man. For a show that stresses the details like this one, it would be very disappointing.
So, I mentioned the interviews up top. This was from the first interview they did, when they were initially asked about it back on June 2nd:
Tumblr media
RD and MD stand for Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer, and EXCUSE ME? "How do you want to respond to this?" I found this really curious, because if you forgot the birthday as the creators, isn't there only really one way to respond to this? That's a little suspicious. Was he asking Matt if they should reveal it is a plot point or not?
Next, we have two instances where forgetting Will's birthday has apparently already been a problem in the past, so would they really forget it again?
First we have this tweet from 2020, where someone on Twitter called out the Stranger Things Writers account for not acknowledging Will's birthday which had just passed in the real world:
Tumblr media
You can see this is dated March 24, two days after Will's birthday. The D&D line was obviously related to Season 3 where Will wanted to play and no one else did. But the fact that they acknowledged a birthday being forgotten, and it just happened to be Will's, well...
Next instance is from the in-show universe. Creds to @beaulesbian for this post. Below we can see what looks to be some sort of card hung up in Will's room saying "forgot your birthday". It is present in S1 (first pic) and S2 (second pic):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The card appears to be cartoonish/juvenile, maybe coming from another member of the Party. As you can see, this is adding up to a lot of coincidences around Will's birthday being forgotten, both in and outside of the show. But wait, there's more!
We have two examples of dialogue from Season 4 having to do with forgotten birthdays in general. First is Murray, trying to get Joyce out of the motel so they're not late to meet the Russian smuggler:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we have Mike's convo with Suzie, trying to convince her they're trying to win a video game system for Dustin's birthday:
Tumblr media
The interesting thing here is that you can see the puzzled look on Mike's face as he trails off, clearly not knowing what Dustin's birthday is off the top of his head. This correlates with the "I forgot your birthday" card referenced above. Maybe Mike is really bad with birthdays?
So that's it. If you believe the second set of evidence, you just have to convince yourself that Joyce was so shook about Hopper being alive, Jonathan was perma-stoned/so worried about his relationship with Nancy/college decisions, and Mike was so busy pretending to be straight being caught up with El, that they all forgot about Will's birthday.
If you made it this far, thanks, and let me know what side you're coming down on.

I'm watching Monk now that it's added to Netflix in my country, and it's ironic how I sometimes find it difficult to focus on the plot when:
On the 4th episode, Monk is trying to hide his OCD and other symptoms as well as possible in order to be accepted to officially help the detectives. The amount of continuity errors in this is insane, tho:
Someone threw a trash on the floor which is seriously bothering Monk. In close-up images the trash is right next to the bin, but in the bigger, different angle the trash is like 1 meter away from the bin. And it keeps jumping between these cameras -> the trash's placement changes the whole time.
In a scene where Monk starts cleaning up as he's having a conversation with someone, the placement of those plates do not add-up. He's holding a plate, but in the next close-up he puts a frying pan into the sink. The frying pan, which he already put into the sink earlier, but in the previous scene it was again on the stove. Finally, when the scene ends and he leaves, the frying pan is back on the stove.
I'm pretty sure the flowers look a bit different too.
And I'm just 15 minutes in. I'm really pondering here if these are just normal continuity errors that happen in film industry all the time, OR if these were made on purpose as some sort of easter eggs to the viewer, to contrast Monk's attempt of controlling his OCD.
Whatever it is, I just notice these things more easily than ever before, because I'm a media student and I've trained to notice such errors in my own work when I'm filming and editing stuff. So it's kinda funny how much there are these minor errors in films. I've always been very fascinated by them, but this episode has been so loud about those that I'm actually wondering if they're on purpose and easter eggs.
Oh and another technical thing that annoyed me a bit: The audio and video are not 100% in sync sometimes, especially with the first two episodes. I think in this 4th episode they got their shit together and it's fine now. Audio and video not being in sync is one of my biggest pet peeves in everything, and I'm super passionate about that when I'm editing stuff myself!

OPLA thoughts
I decided I wanted to sit down and pour out my thoughts on Netflix’s Live Action One Piece. I’m going to start by saying this: It was a beautiful adaptation. You could feel the love from everyone involved in every single scene.
Before we fully dive into this, I want to make a mini disclaimer that, yes, there will most likely be spoilers.
Let’s start with an easy one, the soundtrack. One of the things I love about the anime is the music and I can say the same about the live action as well. Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli knocked it straight out of the park with every track. The sound that left me when I heard Bink’s Brew in the background could only be described as a surprised squeak. And then, in episode 4, when our crew gets the Going Merry…I teared up. We Are?! In the live action?? Absolutely brilliant. But let’s talk a bit about some of the original tracks. “Chop Chop Cannon” might be my favorite. I can’t explain why, I just love the circus music. Arlong’s theme went so hard I don’t even know where to start. Belousova herself stated that “Wealth, Fame, Power” is a combination of Luffy and Roger’s themes, and that Roger’s theme is Luffy’s in reverse. If that doesn’t clue you in on how fantastic this soundtrack is, I’m not sure what will. So, if you get a chance, I highly recommend simply listening to the soundtrack. I can’t lie, that’s what I’m doing as I type this out.
Another easy bit to talk about: the cast. Everyone, from our main crew to the villains and even the side characters were perfectly cast.
The Strawhats especially had me smiling from ear to ear. Iñaki Godoy’s performance as Luffy has a special place in my heart. He embodies the purehearted energy that Luffy is full of so well. I’ve seen little complaints here and there about certain scenes of him “refusing food” but you need to see the context of when he does and why. For example, one of those scenes happens when Zoro is hurt. Luffy wouldn’t sit there and have a feast when his friend is hurt. That’s not our captain. I could probably write a paragraph on each actor and their performance…But that would turn this into an essay and I don’t think anyone wants that.
Initially, when the trailer first dropped, I was unsure of Arlong and the Fishmen. But after seeing the episodes, they were so well done. Arlong was just as threatening and scary as he was supposed to be. The use of prosthetics instead of CGI was a wonderful choice and only added to the beauty of the show. It gives me a lot of hope for how they could handle Chopper in the future as well.
I said this before, but I love the fact that things are different in the live action. You get to experience these characters and story beats again in a way that feels so new it’s almost like you’re seeing it for the first time again. I constantly wish I could go into One Piece blind again, and this adaptation sort of allows me to do just that. Things I thought wouldn’t make me cry again, definitely did. Two of the biggest examples being Sanji's goodbye to Zeff and the Baratie, and Nami asking for help.
There are also SO many Easter Eggs for fans to find. I won’t point them all out, that would turn this into a longer thing than necessary, but it adds so much to the series. Things as small as known characters wanted posters to things as obvious as Nami reading the story of Nolan to Zoro.
Now, this isn’t to say that this adaptation is without faults. Nothing is perfect. One of the bigger complaints I’ve seen and have to agree with, is that Usopp and Sanji should have been more present in their respective arcs. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we get a season 2 and we get to flesh out their characters more. It’s what they/we deserve. I don’t fully get why we introduced Garp so early either, or kept Koby and Helmeppo around for so long. I don’t think it was a bad choice per se, just an odd one. It does have me wondering about the next meeting, if the live action gets there that is. Hopefully it does, the War arc would be fantastic in the live action.
It has been an absolute joy to see people who have never given One Piece a chance before, watch it now. Oda created something special and it’s amazing to see new fans of all ages come out of this adaptation. These new fans are in for a wild ride, especially if we get more. With Loguetown and Alabasta set up as our next arcs, the future of this series is looking bright. If they thought the reception of these 8 episodes was great, just wait until they introduce us to Chopper and Robin. Crocodile remains one of my favorite One Piece villains and seeing him in live action would be a dream come true.

It was a cold, starry night when Jay parked the car in front of Incheon Airport. _____ felt a mixture of anxiety and joy as she prepared to be reunited with her friends, Jake and Lily, who she had spent time with in Australia.
A few years ago, when she was 16, she decided to go on an exchange to Brisbane, in celebration of her birthday. It was a new adventure in an unfamiliar place, but she was looking forward to exploring and meeting new people.
It was during this journey that he met Jake, a charming and funny boy who studied at the same exchange school. From their first meeting, they forged a special connection, sharing laughs, stories and unforgettable moments together.
As their friendship grew, she began to feel something deeper for him. His captivating smile, his sense of humor and his kindness won her heart. However, there was a hitch: Jake was dating Lily, another Australian student from Marysville, who was also spending her holidays in Brisbane.
Though she felt a small twinge of sadness knowing this, she knew that Jake's happiness was important to her. She decided that she would do her best to support her friend and help him find happiness with Lily.
With that in mind, ______ started planning a cute and romantic date for the couple. She carefully chose the location, a quiet beach with a stunning view of the sunset, and prepared a picnic basket filled with the lovebirds' favorite treats on the sand.
On the day of the date, she was nervous, but her determination to see her friends happy was stronger. She took Jake down to the beach he excited but disappointed to see her friend leave so early she asked:
"Leaving so soon? Stay here with me for a bit"
"Sorry, Jake, I gotta… she stuttered. "Work in some things at the dorm. Have fun, okay?
As the couple enjoyed their romantic picnic, she watched from afar, feeling mixed emotions. She saw them laughing, talking and sharing special moments. Although her heart yearned to be in Lily's shoes, she was grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of their happiness, even if it was in a different way.
At the end of the date, she joined them, her eyes were teary but overflowing with genuine joy.
"I hope you enjoyed my little surprise!" _______ smiled
"Are you kidding?! This is beautiful! Thank you! But how do you…?
"I know you Jake! The connection you share with each other is unique and special. This is what I feel iny heart."
Lily also expressed her gratitude and hugged her.
"You're a wonderful girl. Thanks for helping us create such special memories."
Despite the unrequited feelings, she felt a deep joy at having contributed to her friends' happiness. The friendship between them strengthened even more that day, but unfortunately, it did not last as _____ imagined. On the last day of their exchange, Jake passed by her room in the dorm and saw her packing her bags and was in shock.
"What… what's all this?!?!"
"Unfortunately my time here is over. In a little while I'll be heading back home."
"Oh no, you won't! Not now, not like this! Come here!"
⊹⊱•••《 💗 》•••⊰⊹
The long-awaited farewell day in Brisbane arrived. Jake and Lily wanted to make sure their friend had a memorable send-off before catching the flight back home. They decided to take her to an amusement park, where they could enjoy an afternoon filled with emotions and laughter.
________ felt nostalgic as she walked through the streets of Brisbane towards the park. She was grateful to have met Jake and Lily, who had made her exchange experience even more special.
At the amusement park, the trio of friends boarded roller coasters, spun on Ferris wheels and challenged their nerves on thrilling rides. Laughter and squeals of joy echoed through the air as they enjoyed themselves like there was no tomorrow.
In the midst of the fun, they stopped at a game stand, where Jake got her a stuffed dolphin. It was an affectionate gesture that represented the friendship they shared.
"Jake… no need!" ______ smiled putting her hand in front of her mouth
"But you deserve it! A special little gift for our very special friend!"
She hugged the dolphin tenderly, feeling the emotion overflow in her heart.
"Thanks. I will keep this little creature with a lot of love. It'll always remind me of the amazing times we had here.!
The afternoon at the amusement park was filled with joy and fellowship. As the sun began to set, they walked back to the car, sharing smiles and memories of their time together.
The time has come to say goodbye. Jake and Lily accompanied her to Brisbane Airport, where warm hugs and words of gratitude were exchanged.
"Jake, Lily, thank you for everything. You guys made my experience here unforgettable. Gonna miss you guys a lot."
"We'll miss you too, _____" Jake hugged stroking his long, straight auburn strands
"But we promise to never forget everything you've done for us." Now it was Lily's turn to hug her friend and then she released her, watching her go down the departure corridor. "Have a safe trip home, friend!"
"Take care!" Jake yelled waving at her
As she walked away, she looked back to see Jake and Lily waving with smiles full of affection and longing.
At Brisbane Airport, she _____ boarded the plane, taking with her not only the memories of her stay in Brisbane, but also the knowledge that true friendship transcends borders and miles. She knew they would always hold a special place in her heart, wherever she wanted them to be.
But what she didn't know was that it wouldn't be the last time they would see them. Long before they met, he was famous for his travel vlogs with Lily, among his loyal followers was Park Jongseong, who he kept in touch with on Twitter, Instagram, KakaoTalk and other platforms.
When mentioning his friend in one of his videos, Jay was surprised by the fact that both share the same friendship and have similar tastes, even if they are distant, the two enjoyed each other's company and imagined the day when they would meet in person. Now, 5 years later, this dream is about to come true.
As they waited in the arrivals area, anticipation rose in her. She imagined all the stories and experiences Jake and Lily would have to share. The longing was palpable, and her heart beat faster as the moment neared.
Finally, the doors opened, revealing Jake and Lily, who emerged with beaming smiles on their faces. _______ rushed towards them, their arms wrapping around each other in a tight, warm hug.
"Jake-ah! Lily-ah! I miss you guys!"
"Noona, how good it is to see you again! I already missed those warm hugs!"
"You guys are so dramatic!" she rolled her eyes and smirked "But it feels great to be here!"
As they walked towards the car, the conversation began to flow. There, Jake and Lily share their adventures, telling funny and heartwarming stories about their time on their travels.
"So Jake, tell me, what's the big news?"
Jake smiled, showing a glint of excitement in his eyes.
"I enrolled at HU! Starting tomorrow I'll be your Engineering classmate!"
______ was surprised and overjoyed at the news. She could barely contain the joy that spread throughout her body.
"Really?! This is amazing! I can't wait for us to be classmates. We're going to spend such great time together!"
As they celebrated the news, Lily became a little quieter beside them. She knew her path would take them in different directions.
"Unfortunately, I enrolled at the JYP Institute. My Marine Biology course will be there."
"So it looks like that's the end of our Alberta Beef and Ginger Beer trio, does it?" he scratched the back of his head
"Yeah, it is, but I promise I'll support you both no matter where we go in the future." the Canadian wistfully stated
"Pinky swear, noona?"
"Is this serious, unnie?" protested Lily
"C'mon! Do it with us!" the oldest asked
Then the three crossed their pinkies and sealed the promise to never forget the friendship they cultivated 5 years ago.
And a while later, they arrived at HYBE Uni's dorm. With the lights in the university parking lot still on, Jay could see through the window of his car some students leaving, others returning.
"Are you coming, noona?" questioned Jay
"Not yet. Me and Lily need some time alone, so, Jake, mind going ahead?"
"Of course not. Hyung, can you help me with the bags?"
"No problem!"
From the moment the Australian set foot in Seoul, the Canadian noticed that she was distant and quiet. Lily was never the type of woman to pretend to be shy or stay silent for no reason, she knew there was something wrong with her friend and as soon as the two got out of the car, she set out to find out, asking:
"Lily-ah, are you okay?"
"Unnie, do you have some time for some love advice?"
"I always have, so go ahead, pour your heart out to me."
"You see, Jake and I broke up before we moved here and…"
"Really?! But you were so happy together!"
"I know! But lately I didn't feel that euphoria anymore. And it seems that Jake feels the same way."
"Was it because of me?"
"No! You were an angel bringing us together! It's my fault that my feelings are changing and I don't know how to deal with it."
"When you live with someone for a long time, you learn about yourself and your feelings towards them, I don't understand what you fear so much."
"Regret. I'm afraid my feelings for him will grow back over time and I'll take drastic action when it's too late and he'll hate me for it. What do you suggest I do?"
"Did you guys talk about this before the move?"
"We do."
"So, there's nothing to fear! As this was a recent breakup, it's normal for you to miss the moments shared together, besides, it's not because you're not in love with Jake anymore that you don't love him! If he makes you happy and he feels the same, you can still be friends."
The Australian was trying her best not to break down in front of her friend, but when the Canadian woman smiled and placed her hand on her shoulder, she couldn't contain the lump in her throat and the tears streaming down her face, so she pulled it closer for a hug.
"I don't deserve a friend like you, unnie!"
"You're so pretty and wonderful, Lily. You certainly deserve to be treated like a princess, which I know you are."
"Thanks." _______ wiped Lily's tears with her thumb "Promise not to tell my story on your podcast? I don't want people hustling about my love life."
"Promise. Want Jay to give you a ride to your dorm?"
"Won't he mind?"
"I don't know, but I'll ask him anyway."
"Thanks."
As she wandered through the halls, she pulled out her cell phone and found a photo of the trio in her gallery, in one of the most chaotic moments in Australia.
On a Friday night, Lily and Jake decided to take ________ out for a fun night out at a local bar in Brisbane. It was a perfect opportunity to relax, unwind and create more memories together.
Sitting at a table, _______ was excited to try something new. As the waiter approached, she glanced at the menu and, intrigued, decided to order a bottle of ginger beer.
"Come on, guys! I want to see what it feels like to drink ginger beer. It should be interesting!"
Jake and Lily exchanged amused glances and agreed to try it too. Soon, the bottles were poured, and they toasted, ready to enjoy the night.
As the night wore on and she drank her third glass of ginger ale, she began to feel the brew's effect.
"Ahn, guys. I think I'm starting to get a little dizzy. I didn't know this beer was this strong!"
"Careful, _____, this drink can be tricky." Jake mocked
"But look on the bright side! You're starting to have fun!" Lily added
Suddenly music started playing in the bar, _______ recognized it immediately and started jumping up and down laughing out of nowhere.
"Is it Seventeen's Adore U? Man, I love this song!"
Why are you keeping a front?
I don’t know, I don’t know what will happen
Without hesitation, she got up from the table and started dancing and singing excitedly in the middle of the bar, attracting the attention of everyone around her.
So what I mean is, I want to know all of you
I’ll sing you, you-hoo, I’ll sing you, you-hoo
Even if my lips are dry, I need to say this baby
I adore you, I adore you, enough to get dizzy
Adore you!
Jake and Lily joined in on the fun, laughing and cheering as she let loose on the makeshift dance floor.
The funny and adorable scene continued as she expressed her joy and excitement through music. People around were amused by their spontaneous performance, and soon the whole bar was clapping and singing along.
After a while, _______ came down to the table, out of breath, but with a huge smile on his face.
"Who knew that innocent little face of yours guarded a k-pop star, huh?" Lily teased
"Oh, don't say that! That was humiliating!" _____ covered her red face with her hands
"What do you mean? It was fun! But take it easy next time we go out, okay?"
"Alright Jake!"
It was then that he had a brilliant idea. He spotted a man sitting at a nearby table with a cell phone in hand. He approached the men and asked kindly:
"Sorry to bother you sir, but could you take a picture of the three of us?"
The man smiled and readily accepted. The trio stood together, grimacing and laughing as the old man captured the image.
With a smile on their faces, they huged each other, making funny poses and enjoying the moment of true friendship.
After the photo, they thanked the lord and returned to the table, still laughing at the situation.
The night continued with more laughs, stories and unforgettable moments shared among the friends. She learned that some unusual choices can lead to moments of pure fun and special memories.
That night in that bar in Brisbane will remain in her memories as a moment when friendship strengthened and joy overflowed.
A/N: So the first couple our little angel got a together, was with her best friend who she had a crush on, and her first love advice was about their breakup...

My Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth review:
Spoilers ahead, you've been warned!
So here are pros and cons of what I thought about Rebirth.
Overall I really liked it, can't wait for the next installment. I still have a few items to wrap-up with side quests, but I did beat the game with a large portion of items done in 94 hours.
Pros:
Character development is on par. Lots of 'getting to know' not only your teammates but characters they introduced from the Remake version as well. This kind of feels like an Easter Egg moment sometimes, and gives the game consistency and charm.
Gameplay during battle is smooth, consistent, and the added synergy attacks are interesting. Playing as a larger group of people with their own assets can be a little overwhelming, but fun to find your favorite playing style. Using different characters feels absolutely necessary for differing battle mechanics, and I think they did a great job in providing the opportunity to keep all characters relevant rather than 'backseating' someone. The side quests and even main storyline ensure this.
Storyline. The intense amount of speculation people have been doing has been a little blown out of proportion and I kind of like that. I mean we weren't wrong about differing timelines, the game does have that, but the way it is incorporated was done beautifully. They followed the original story very well, and moments that were changed only seemed to enhance the clarity that was occurring in those scenarios. Moments that I had thought of prior were now in different tones, giving different meanings. I enjoyed that.
Voice acting. Using new voices can be a bit of a dealbreaker for those of us who enjoyed the original VAs, but I think they did a great job in continuing with VAs that fit the tone of this 'newer' version of the FF7 world. I do still miss some of the originals, but with the storytelling in this format I think it's done very well.
Music. I really don't know what else to say other than the blends and tones and meshing of songs and the moments they're in is just. It's everything. It really makes every. Single. Scene. If you played the demo you know exactly what I mean.
Scenery. Everything is so gorgeous. Ugh. I just want to paint every little scene into a pretty landscape.
The comedic value is gold. Random characters will bring up points from Remake that will make you die of laughter. Side quests can be beyond hilarious (looking at you, Johnnys).
The intense amount of flirting and goofy moments of people hitting on Cloud is beyond amazing and very fitting. The dating scene I ended up with was with Tifa, and it played out beautifully. I am totes excited to try out the others, too.
Cons:
Too many minigames? It might just be me, but it felt like every mechanic had an unnecessary 'challenge' to it that robbed the enjoyment of the side quests. Each mini game has its own rules, mechanics, and is oftentimes poorly instructed to the point you will be redoing them in multitudes. Precision is key to every single one of them, but getting there seems too difficult at times. It's probably just me lol, but the piano keys with a PS5 controller can be incredibly difficult to get accurate notes. The march portion of the game was increasingly difficult, too, borrowing from the dance mechanics of Remake and yet somehow making it more motion-sickness-y. Granted, it was still funny, but the practice rounds they allow you do not compare to the actual hell hole that is the 3 march portion. It felt like when a teacher tells you '1+1=2' but on the math test they give you 'If Jimmy sells 83 portions of apple purple, who is the sun representing in the third movie of cryptocurrency?' Fort Condor makes a comeback from Yuffie's DLC, which is fun and kind of annoying. I am terrible at timed things so don't mind my venting here. And don't get me started on MOG HOUSE. The weird slide mechanics of trying to 'push' things around in this minigame while trying to avoid haphazard death feels a little too much like reality for me and I cannot deal, yo. The 'Run Wild' or whatever Red XIII game has a similar mechanic, which only makes it frustrating for the harder challenges they throw at you in making goals. Also, every minigame seems to incorporate an insane amount of R2/L2 button mechanics. Being left-handed feels like a bit of a disadvantage in some of these games, and it sometimes feels like the PS5 controller has too much of a 'soft push' on it that doing full trigger clicks is like a whole hand exercise. These games crippled me hahaha. I would love a Story Mode for us cripple-y old fucks that makes it so I don't have to do minigames. To add to that, Queen's Blood ended up being a relief for me after the hell that I faced in all the other minigames, but only later in the game once you get better card decks. However, I am currently stuck on Dale in Nibelheim. Yes. Dale. Don't laugh at me.
Not all characters fit the aesthetic of the original game. I'm mostly thinking of Kyrie and Regina. It's such a dumb nitpick on my part, but I kind of wish they had toned down their looks to match the game a little better that way it isn't such a 'sore thumb' kind of vibe. The moogles are also a bit terrifying to look at. Why did they give them such horrifying teeth?
And speaking of sore thumb, Chadley and MAI. I like the banter but oof what an annoying duo, hahaha. The 'fun' mechanics they're trying to implement with having these two talk to you through the PS5 controller was a bit of a fun and novel concept in the first 2 seconds, but MAI's voice is a bit too grating for me that I had to turn off that feature.
Speaking of voices, Red XIII's splits back and forth at times between his 'pretending to be sophisticated' and 'teen' voice. I prefer his sophisticated voice, and it's a pity they don't have an option to choose what you want to hear. I think I just hate the sound of children's voices, so anything that is too high pitched sounds a bit like nails on a chalkboard for me. I am guessing no one else cares about this, hahaha.
Chocobo mechanics. I like sweeping onto a chocobo smoothly without button pressing, but sometimes Cloud gets off the bird in a direction that accidentally makes it possible to get back on the bird. Also, the open world trekking is only fun in the Grasslands area, after that it is a bit of a nightmare that continuously gets worse the hillier things get. I spend a lot of time staring at the map trying to figure out where I'm supposed to go because you can't actually 'go' wherever. This is a bit unfortunate because it can make simple tasks of 'I need to go here' turn to 'I need to make 70 different turns to get there.' And the traversing for specific regions can also feel like hell, mostly in Gongaga and Cosmo Canyon.
Controller mechanics. Kind of already talked about this, but because the PS5 is supposed to be a 'new, novel console' with things like speakers in the controller, touch sensitivity, motion sensors, etc, they go at it hardcore here. Tilt mechanics, sliding things, and all that garbage is just annoying. I turn it off as soon as I can. It is especially annoying during Cait Sith's time in the Shinra Manor. Boxgate. That is all, lol. If you like silly things like this then more power to you.
I am sure I am forgetting things, but to wrap-up: the storyline is what I'm in it for, and the story was beautiful and therefore I enjoyed it even with my stupid gripes. Please remember this is just my ridiculous opinion. I am merely a purple dinosaur on the internet and should not be held as gospel.
