Benoit Blanc's similarities to other fictional detectives
Specifically Holmes, Poirot and Columbo because I'm most familiar with them and saw many of their characteristics in Blanc.
Impeccable clothes - Poirot
Cigar - Columbo
Post-case slump - Holmes
Eccentric - Holmes, Poirot, Columbo
Detection as a means of helping people, not just for the sake of solving crimes - Holmes (and Poirot and Columbo to a slightly lesser extent)
Fun name – Holmes, Columbo, Poirot
Referred to by surname (almost) all of the time, even by close friends/partners – Columbo, Holmes, Poirot
Kindness to and deep respect for vulnerable women – Holmes, Columbo, Poirot
Said to be the best detective in the world – Holmes, Poirot
Fun American accent – Columbo
Hates rich people who abuse their financial influence – Holmes, Columbo, Poirot
Polite – Columbo (of course Holmes and Poirot can also be very polite but I don't feel like it's a defining characteristic for them the way it is for Columbo)
Rude to mean rich people in a way that is so polite the horrible rich people don’t realise they’re being made fun of/talked to rudely – Holmes, Poirot
Politeness and diplomacy that is often pushed too far and they explode into explicit anger – Holmes, Columbo, Poirot
Drama in resolution – all three to varying degrees, but especially Poirot
Understated and affable – Columbo
Involved in self-contained stories – Columbo, Poirot, Holmes (though a couple of Holmes stories do link closely to previous stories)
Uses the word 'afoot' – Holmes
Gay – Holmes, Poirot (I'll let you decide if this applies to Columbo)

I love your GG Rivals au so much!!! I love learning about all the characters backstories and how much depth they have to them;
Also, when Etho first left to become a knight, did he want to/think it was the honourable/noble thing to do, or was it forced upon him or expected from him by his family/ the village? Feel free not to answer if it’s spoilers or anything, but I’m super curious!! ^-^
Thank you very much!! I'm super glad to hear that 💚
As the war with Coral Crest was just beginning and uncertainty was settling over the land, Wintertide offered the village protection on the condition that they fought in the war alongside them. He was the only one actually of age to join the army, so responsibility for the village's safety fell on his shoulders. No one forced him to do it, and most of them even believed he was too young to be fighting in a war so there were actually many people trying to dissuade him from leaving. However, they said it was his choice whatever he decided to do, and they would support him no matter what.
Etho was tied. He didn't want to leave; this tight knit community was all he had ever known and the thought of going away was terrifying to him. But he could tell that there was a lot of fear within the village about what would happen to them without that protection, since their population was mainly consist of children and elders. In the end he put on a brave face and decided to take the deal and join the Wintertide army. He did it out of obligation and a desire to protect his loved ones.
He kept in contact with them via letters for the first two years, but after a while the letters stopped coming and soon, they never heard from him again. They miss him every day.

Just thinking about how Qrow and Winter's introductions in the show and how they left vol 8 like.
Vol3 Qrow baited Winter over and over until she was mad enough to use a "finisher" that we didn't end up seeing (Qrow going to use his scythe that we didn't end up seeing until the end of the volume) because Ironwood ordered her stop, probably sparing Qrow's aura (if not serious injury lmao get fucked) AND proving she's not ready for the (fall) maiden powers
Go to five years later when vol 8 Qrow is the one mad enough to kill ironwood but was stopped on his way by Winter (And robyn but Winter physically redirected him to stop the bomb) Only for Winter to turn around and use her finisher on Ironwood thus proving she IS READY FOR THE MAIDEN POWERS
SOMETHING SOMETHING PARALLELS QROW SAVED HER FROM BEING A MAIDEN TOO SOON AND THUS UNDER IRONWOOD'S CONTROL

saw your tag-- Ethan's hands are without question his best feature <3 thank goodness the game puts them in the spotlight for us ;)
Oh absolutely. Those hands are made to suffer, and I’m glad we get a front row seat.
Especially when he’s missing two fingers and his hand is in bandages. It’s… a good look.

Paul Yellowjack is a character who has gone through many changes. He started as Silva's first real father figure, a teacher who raised her on morals to live by, protected her from Adam when the poor-excuse of a man wanted her back, and lead his people in a revolution against their violent oppressors on the Archipelagos. Ultimately, after the massacre though, he ended up as a tragic fallen hero whose core morals corrupted when put through tragedy after tragedy, leaving bitterness to take his heart and (regrettably) lash out at the world, before Silva could restore his hope again. Left down a dark path for so long he can no longer return as the man Silva once knew (even if there are shades of him deep inside the villain he has become), and sadly neither wishes him to, Paul because of his self-loathing, Silva because of the pain he inflicted on her. There is a longing between them, but both have gone down two different paths, with no way to return to one another (or at least, that's what both believe). I believe this song reflects his turmoil perfectly. I'll probably explain in the tags.
"I want you by my side
So that I never feel alone again
They've always been so kind
But now they've brought you away from me
I hope they didn't get your mind
Your heart is too strong anyway
We need to fetch back the time
They have stolen from us
And I want you
We can bring it on the floor
You've never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancin' on, doing the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
Shouldn't talk about it
And I want you
We can bring it on the floor
You've never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancin' on, doing the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
Shouldn't talk about it
Shouldn't talk about it
Coldest winter for me
No sun is shining anymore
The only thing I feel is pain
Caused by absence of you
Suspense controlling my mind
I cannot find the way out of here
I want you by my side
So that I never feel alone again
And I want you
We can bring it on the floor
You've never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancin' on, doing the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
Shouldn't talk about it
And I want you
We can bring it on the floor
You've never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancin' on, doing the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
Shouldn't talk about it
Shouldn't talk about it
And I want you
We can bring it on the floor
You've never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancin' on, doing the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
Shouldn't talk about it
And I want you
We can bring it on the floor
You've never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancin' on, doing the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
Shouldn't talk about it
Shouldn't talk about it
And last line for The Years In Hope County, which is getting pushed for possibly next week.
"We've come a long way. You've come a long way," Elsa tells [Sylvester], downing the latte in her hands like shots at the Fairgrave's bar, "You may not see it but... we're already honouring them, just by being alive."

hhhhhhhhhhhh saboace royalty au. ace was crown prince but can’t use magic which is necessary to become king, so he renounces his title and becomes infamous for his eccentric tendencies to play up the illusion that he’s truly not meant for the throne and that his younger sibling has full rights to the title of heir.
sabo is born to a family serving in the royal court, has been a genius magician since he was a child, and is the perfect example of a young man fully educated to serve at the king’s side. which is why he’s allowed himself to be tied down into a loveless political engagement with the king’s heir, putting the whims of his family before his own and resigning himself to become the future ruler’s consort/spouse to legitimize his role as an advisory right-hand man.
but then the heir grows rebellious and denounces the engagement with sabo in public and ace swoops in to save the day (and sabo’s reputation), demanding his father give sabo to him instead. he steals sabo away and challenges his sibling’s right to the throne, intent on earning back the title not for himself, but so he can make sabo (who is heavily qualified to rule) the king - and since they’ll be wed, no one will be able to undermine sabo’s position as he will technically be part of the monarchy that governs the kingdom.
