Cody and Anakin’s relationship is one that continues to make me absolutely insane.

they have exactly one thing in common and that is that they both love and care about Obi-Wan Kenobi and Captain Rex. that’s it. otherwise, they’re functionally opposites. they have different ideas on fixing problems, different life perspectives, different personalities, ect. but they are both deeply, personally loyal to the people they both love.

they even love Rex and Obi-Wan in completely different ways. but they both still love them. and that means something. in a way i don’t have words for. it’s not respect. it’s not love for each other. but it is something. an understanding, maybe. (before Anakin falls, anyway. after that it’s all ‘i told you i didn’t like him’ from Cody, because he really didn’t care for Anakin’s methods at all and i guarantee it made him wary of Anakin)

when you're the only person who keeps living through the time loop, the people around you cease to be people and become mere characters. your treatment of them doesn't matter because they're not real and they won't remember. the only way to give anything meaning is to end the loop; their actions don't affect the loop and therefore are meaningless. you're the only one who has the ability to change the future, so anything you do in service of that goal is justified.

but. kim dojka looks at yoo joonghyuk and says no, actually, these characters are people. whether they remember or not is beside the point because they are real right now. and you don't give your life meaning by achieving some accomplishment that retroactively makes everything that came before worth it - you give your life meaning in the living of it.

Some of the roughest patches of my life have always given way to some of the most joyful periods of creation. I feel myself on the verge of one such breakthrough which is great! But also means I may need to turn down a store manager position to get there which is a bitter pill to swallow

#realistically I’ll probably end up working three days a week at the cafe #but it kind of sucks to accept that the promotion I’ve been working toward doesn’t work with my writing goals #I want to run my own store #but the current 40 hr week at my position is creating havoc #on my feet 40 hours a week #cleaning and customer facing #is also pretty hard #I hardly go to the gym anymore #the tags are just me having the same debate over and over again #I want my own store but my other goals would be sacrificed for it #if I have to choose I choose writing #scary stuff

every time i see a post that is like "ughh why cant we have aspec characters who aren't aroace for once" I have to do a double take like "is the aroace rep in the room with us right now?" because genuinely....where is all this aroace rep y'all are complaining about? Why cant i find it yet it's apparently the only aspec rep we get?? You admit that TV never says the word aromantic so where is the aroace rep. So far I've pretty much only seen canonically asexual characters and not much else buddy.

Cooking serves as a perfect stress-relieving activity, as it not only helps release pressure but also allows one to enjoy the delightful dishes they prepare.

Victor hums a tune softly as he tastes the chicken soup he has prepared. Ignoring the subtle shimmer of oil on the surface, the clear broth emits an alluring aroma that tickles his nostrils. The seasoning is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of saltiness and freshness, making every mouthful filled with a burst of umami.

Perfect.

After having his meal, he plans to spend the entire afternoon completing all the weekend school assignments.

one thing that especially irks me about cullen's so-called redemption is the attempts to redeem him through cole's words.

templars' abuses affected cole so badly it damaged his connection to the fade and his own nature. he was a spirit of compassion and witnessing what was happening in white spire turned him into a killer. he murdered lord seeker lambert in cold blood for what he did and most of the time he doesn't regret it — and then he just. drops the "he's not like the other girls" lines about cullen.

and this is such a lazy and annoying move. another thing that is established about cole is that you particularly can't lie to him — about your real feelings and intentions at least. whatever he states about other characters must be true and it is often used as a tool to deepen the characterizations of the main cast and in cullen's case it is just. blatant apologism. there's literally a banter where cole talks about atrocities commited by the templars and then he adds "oh no but cassandra and cullen aren't like that" and never elaborates. the game itself doesn't elaborate either.

like please don't tell me that the spirit who was shaken by knowledge that an innocent boy can die from starving because his jailors simply forgot about him would look in the eyes of a person who used to be meredith fucking stannard's right hand and still thinks that her methods were just a little too harsh but necessary and justified and say yeah. this guy is such a friend of mages. if only there were more templars like him

#this is such an overt bullshit like i don't even know where to start #and my main problem is that. i don't care about cullen. his redemption arc sucks because it's non-existent. but i do care about cole #and i love his cryptic comments so much because they really give you a look into character's head in a weird but interesting manner #and then. this happens. and you can say that “oh but it means that cullen's REAL attitude is compassionate towards mages!” #but the thing about cole's comments is. he does expose characters' thoughts #but you've already had an opportunity to catch whatever cole makes clear in these banters #like. vivienne is afraid and it is shown in the game. dorian struggles with attachment and it is shown in the game #cullen struggles with whatever he's done to mages and ?????? ah yes #and i'm just. so mad. because i love what cole adds to the storytelling. and there's so much potential but he's used for apologism #because whoever wrote cullen was too lazy and/or preoccupied with making a knight in shining armor out of him #you can also point out that cole is used for solas apologism as well. but in solas' case you can catch that he feels conflicted #about his actions and goals. so yeah. it works. at least partially. so my point stays. #cullen's case is like. by the book example of horrendous breaking of 'show don't tell' rule #practically cole breaks this rule constantly. but as i said it doesn't feel off with other characters because of what has been shown alread #cullen critical #dragon age

it's such a shame that sophia as a character is so reliant on keeping everything about her a mystery until.... literally the last chapter, because it makes her a lot weaker as.... one of the main characters. she's intended to have the same level of importance as geppetto in the narrative, however, in execution..... you can't really get invested in her because she doesn't really offer anything meaningful to you until the very end, and by then it feels a little too little too late. (and so much of it is wrapped around simon's plotline, which i have already expressed i don't really care for.)

i think it's why i try to make a bigger deal of things like the hermit's cave, or the thing about being a listener being "the devil's power", according to sophia's mother. these bits show her as an existing part of the setting she's in, and not as the walking Big Reveal set-up she... kind of is, honestly.

sophia is meant to be p's guide through his growing humanity, a counterpoint to geppetto, and i wish more was done with it!!!

I find it kind of silly that so many of those "time based life rule" sayings are like ~deep serious guidelines~ of some sort, but then there's that one other Well Known Rule that's just like "hrmm can I eat something off of the ground or not"

#the duality of human condition.. two biggest concerns in the modern era are attempts at self fulfilling productivity #and also 'if i drop my sandwich can i still eat it :(' #Also while capitalism is often linked with/the source of hyper productivity culture - note that I do not mean the images in that context #'meaningful to you' does not have to mean 'productive within a capitalist system'. The point is not 'every waking hour of every day #must be spent in the most societally productive grinding mindset hyper efficency mode possible' but more like #if you've always wanted to learn french ever since you were a kid and you think it would be fulfilling to you (just because you like it #absent of any larger purpose like using it for a job/monetizing it somehow/etc.). and you've just spent like 5 hours straight on tiktok #or something mindlessly scrolling the internet. maybe someimtes it'd help for your own personal fulfillment in the long #run to try to - the next time you have 5 spare hours - work on learning french or something that is actually significant to you #as a person and that you'll be glad you worked towards. instead of weeks and weeks passing by and feeling you have nothing to show for it #or etc. AAANYWAY. The images/rules themselves are also NOT the main point of this post. More just the juxtaposition of them together #and the fact that 3 of them are serious seeming while one is so mundane it seems silly in comparison. #BUT even though they're not the main point . I still didn't want it to come across as if I was like promoting or buying into capitalist #productivity culture propaganda or etc. I don't find productivity tips like this inherently bad as long as they're kind of divorced from #those ideas. I think it's still important in life to have goals even if those goals exist outside of the typical expected framework. #I mean that's actually part of why a culture of chronically exhausted overworked deprived people is damaging because if you #'re forced to spend 85% of your waking time working at some job that is perosnally meaningless to you that brings you nothing that #youre only doing under threat of starvation and houselesness and etc. then of course you don't have much time for hobbies or things you car #about and of course you'll feel more aimless and personally unsatisfied and like life is not fulfilling or interesting. #Productivity and efficiency is GOOD actually. as long as it's able to be directed in ways that are actually meaingful to the community or #individual and bring some sort of feeling of fulfillment or progress or accomplishment and working towards a person's personal ideas #of happiness whatever those are. rather than just working away aimlessly so some guy you don't know can buy a 20th house or etc. etc. #ANYWAY.. lol.. Me overthinking things perhaps.. probably not as likely #that people see the silly little cat images and go 'WOW EVIL you must be a capitalist grind culture lover' like its pretty clear #thats not the point... but... just in case... lol..
