MOON WARD

Handbuilt stoneware, with hand pained slip, glaze, palladium + gold luster, and underglaze accents. Post-fire details of paint on limbs/lower body.

This piece is a part of my 4-piece Celestial Wards series! The smallest of the set, Moon Ward is both smaller than the two wardens with a simpler design and expression to reflect its lesser maturity, and smaller than the Sun Ward to reflect (albeit disproportionately) the size difference of the moon and the sun.

The Moon Ward is one of my favorite pieces in the whole set! While simpler than the wardens, I feel the design is very effective and balanced well. I’m very happy with the stylized feather texture on his head, and the overall shape of the limbs!

My thing with Astarion is, yes he's beautiful, handsome, sexy, all of those things and more. But above all he is * adorable * to me.

He literally does the same thing to my brain that cats do, it's wild.

In much the same way that I can get an instant serotonin/oxytocin hit from looking at pictures of cute cats all day, despite being surrounded by cats at home that also trigger these feelings, Astarion also seems to be a bottomless well of happy chemicals for my brain.

You know that feeling when something is just sooooo cute you just have to start babbling nonsense babytalk about wanting to squeeze it and love it and nurture it and protect it forever and ever and maybe put it in a silly little hat and boop its nose and spin around with it under a rainbow

I headcannon Apollo/Lester as trans- hear me out-

So you know how twins of opposite genders are usually pretty hard to find in mythology?

What if Apollo was born as female, but 1 second in he decided "ew no" and changed into the form he felt most comfortable in? In the beginning, he enjoyed taking more effeminate and androgynous forms (see old statues of him), but then maybe someone made a comment about it and he became self conscious of it and dysphoric, hence the change to performative masculinity (see book decriptions of him, his obsession with having abs, his fashion style).

But then Zeus makes him mortal. And this time around, he decides to toy with him some more.

So he assigns Apollo to an afab body, to truthly torture him mentally and to make every second of his mortality nightmarish.

At first, he tries really hard to pass, because he's terrified of the validity of his gender being questioned. And he succeeds for a while. Maintaining a low voice hurts. And he knows running around, fighting, and even sleeping in a binder 24/7 will wreck his mortal body. He doesn't care. He keeps doing it. He runs behind everyone, he struggles to breathe, he has to deal with horrid pain. But he considers it worth it. He loathes his body. He loathes the extra fat that gives him feminine curves. He wants it all to end. He desperately wishes to get his godly form back as soon as possible.

Eventually, he collapses. His ribs are badly bruised, and he can no longer pretend to be cis. As terrifed as he was of his peers' reactions, most of them don't really care. Meg calls him a dummy, punches him, and proceeds to tackle him in a hug and punch him again. Leo tries to crack a joke to lighten the mood. Calypso reminds Apollo back in their days nobody would have given a crap.

Lester tears up. Weirdly, he feels loved. He feels accepted, he feels understood for the first time in millenia.

Maybe being a mortal isn't so bad

it's so wild how body hair in art & media in general is seen as something "disgusting" or "weird", at first i thought that maybe the way i drew it made it look confusing but no way in hell you couldn't zoom in or just... think logically to know that is natural hair? some people are hairy like that! the way i draw it is more fluffy yes because i love floof and i dont give a shit tbh lol

i knew about the "issue" of jevil being fat so the body hair one threw me for a loop like wow. idk why jevil specifically gets this type of treatment, maybe other fat characters in utdr do too but i always see toriel, asgore, alphys, lancer, king, catti, sans who is a skeleton (and i really can't see him any other way, the fandom is doing a great job in keeping him chubby-like i love that) drawn with mostly correct proportions to in game/official art, yet jevil seems to get this mixed reaction. idk why i still see skinny jevil, or why some people insist his clown clothes are just "baggy". the jester is circular, look at his torso please for the love of god. sorry but i just want more fat rep as a fat person myself. i want jevil to remain short (his sprite is shorter than kris and slightly taller than spamton) and fat like he is in game!

drawing him helped me understand a lot about plus size anatomy, and honestly i couldn't be more happy about that because i'm also dealing a lot better with my body image issues and finally bringing more diversity to my art. him being hairy too is yet another thing that makes me happy as someone with pcos, and portraying him as a fat, hairy trans man as someone who is nonbinary and for months has been wanting to experiment with different pronouns/wondering how it would be like to transition is something really special. it's messy and silly but spamton and jevil are the ultimate comfort characters/ship to me, their stories and how they were written speak volumes and resonate with me a lot + headcanoning them as t4t has been beyond freeing and making me get a lot of gender euphoria/dysphoria/envy all at the same time lmfao what the fuck.

i'm honestly glad for these characters because they're what helped me articulate my recent feelings about my gender to my mother, who has grown a lot and is making an effort to understand all of this. the reaction i sometimes get from people who talk to me, come into my inbox or just pour their feelings out in the tags about how they love my portrayal of spamton and jevil's gender identity + their relationship and how important it is to them is so so cool. yeah :)

speaking of chest hair, here's how spamton looks without the shirt. the left side of his chest has a panel for his heart (a smaller version of neo's) and of course top surgery scars, a different type. he's also hairy! not that much since he's a puppet but he still has the addison floof, it's cute

I love being T4T. My gf has been on estrogen for a couple weeks now and she's been having a rough time with her mood so I'm teaching her about the ancient art of soaking in a bubble bath with a little drink to sip while watching shows on your laptop

#pro-tip for any girls newly on E. this is The Cure for PMS #(which accurately describes what youre going through btw) #other great cures include putting on nice smelling lotion and fuzzy socks and wrapping yourself in a blanket burrito/nest #also eating lots of chocolate or other sweets and drinking your favorite caffeinated beverages #my mom used to always put on lotion and fuzzy socks and drink dr pepper and eat chocolate #my cousin likes to watch netflix in the bath with wine and then get in a blanket burrito with her favorite lemonade tea #if youve got someone to take care of you then you dont even have to come out of the burrito. you can just ask them to bring you things #all of these methods help a lot. we're experts on this you can trust me (family of people with endometriosis) #also if youre having headaches and bloating and stomach pain you might try midol (generic works fine) #it has acetaminophen for pain + caffeine for headaches (like excedrin) + antihistamine for bloating #also to clarify: i said girls newly on E only bc i figured girls who have been on it for a while might have already figured this stuff out #but PMS is by no means exclusive to transfems who have newly started on E #many transfems have reported getting PMS symptoms and even cramps on a monthly basis after being on estrogen for a while #this is bc after a while on E your body can start naturally making more estrogen and this can come with its own hormone cycle #and as a result you can essentially get all of the symptoms of a period just without the actual bleeding #(this can include cramps bc even in cis women the signals for the muscle spasms can sometimes get misdirected to nearby organs— #unfortunately causing stomach issues as well) #so if anyone out there happens to not already know this information and youve been feeling like shit periodically for seemingly no reason #now you know 😅 #its your period #rambling

i keep seeing talk of frustration re sand not being firmer in his pushback against boeing, so i want to touch on one thing, as a lifelong doormat myself

throughout the series, sand does his best to set boundaries with ray, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's always been able to do this

we know he's a giver, a caretaker, a mom-friend to his friends and his mom (which: same, fucking hate it here). boundary setting is hard when you are those things, and you get better at it relationship by relationship

it's entirely likely that he was either less able to directly communicate boundaries, or not able to at all, with boeing. and it's incredibly difficult to get out of the patterns you've established with someone. this is why (one reason, at any rate) i don't think it's out of character for him to not flat out tell boeing to go get fucked. i honestly think he is being clear enough about where boeing stands with him, it's just that boeing keeps steamrollering on ahead. interesting that we found it cute and romantic when ray did that

with the rest of the characters, i'm pretty sure we're seeing them in baby's first relationship-with-some-weight-to-it. but sand's already done this dance, which is so fascinating! because for the rest of the characters, their relationships and mistakes have changed them since ep 1. but we've only known sand after these kinds of changes happened to him. maybe taking less shit from people is something he started doing after boeing

i'm dying to know what he was like before! hoping for a flashback to flesh out how things went south, and i'm really hoping the baseball bat scene was him trashing something after finding out about the cheating! preferably something of boeing's, but given how sand is, i'd imagine it's probably something of top's
