Best Book(s) in the Zodiac series by Romina Russell
So I finished this series pretty recently and I took my time reflecting upon the series and I wanted to share with you all which book is the best in this series. And without any further ado, this is the best book(s) in the Zodiac series.
Zodiac Series
1. Zodiac
2. Wandering Star
3. Black Moon
4. Thirteen Rising
The best book(s) in the entire series:
Zodiac
This is the first book and the start of this beautiful world and that’s exactly what I love about it; the world building. As a fan of astronomy and astrology, a universe with planets for the zodiac signs is something I needed in my life and I’m so glad this author gave it to me. This is also free off most of the complications that occur later on, which is a given, considering this book is the where the problem starts.
Thirteen Rising
This is the conclusion to the series and this book was incredibly bittersweet for me. So many of my favorite people died and there was just so much pain and heartache even though the victory was incredibly sweet at the end. There was just a lot of emotion packed in this book and it made me realize just how invested I was in the characters and the storyline. The villain who is not so much as evil as misunderstood stole my heart. I mean he had my heart since the beginning of the series, oddly enough, but in this book I cried for him and he deserved better. He deserved so much better.
And that’s it. These are the books I think are the best in the Zodiac series by Romina Russell. Though I loved the entire series, these two books definitely stood out. Have you read this series, and if not then are you planning to? Let me know if you agree with my opinion or not. I would love to know.

When a violent blast strikes the moons of Cancer, sending its ocean planet off-kilter and killing thousands of citizens - including its beloved Guardian - Rho is more surprised than anyone when she is named the House’s new leader. A true Cancerian who loves her home fiercely and will protect her people no matter what, Rho accepts. When more Houses fall victim to freak weather catastrophes, Rho starts seeing a pattern in the stars. Now Rho - along with Hysan Dax, a young envoy from House Libra, and Mathias, her guide and a member of her Royal Guard - must travel through the Zodiac to warn the other Guardians...but who will believe anything this young novice says? Note
my zodiac sign characters all have neckbands with their planetary sign! their eye color matches their element and they have natural born tattoos of their sign on their represented body part! :]
just little ideas for character designs!
okay so i've been trying to decide how heavily i want to lean into astrology with the worldbuilding - like whether your zodiac sign is an Important part of society (like in zodiac by romina russell) or if i want to go in a different direction.
i think i'm leaning more towards a fantasy setting rather than sci-fi (but like, winx club type fantasy where they have more modern tech/amenities), with each sign being a deity that allegedly founded 12 different countries. and those who are gifted with magic have some kind of mark on them.

July media recap
so, I was kind of stressed about the new semester coming up therefor I distracted myself with media.
I read 13 books, 6,025 pages.
The dream of perpetual motion by Dexter Palmer 5/5. this was a reread it is very strange book but that's why I love it.
zodiac by Romina Russell 3/5. this was also a reread I wanted to see if I want to read the rest of the series, and while I gave it 3 stars, I do kind of want to read the rest of the books.
Tuck by Stephen R. Lawhead 4/5. this was a great end to the series you could really tell the love and research that went into the series.
The golden bough by James George Frazer 5/5. while a lot of the things Frazer put in his book is outdated at best, the book still remains as one the best of thing to read if you are interest in magic and science. the books took my a few months to read.
The dark secret by Tui T. Sutherland 4/4. after such a heavy book I needed a little middle grade about dragons.
Mister impossible by Maggie Stiefvater 5/5. THE ENDING WHAT THE FUCK
Flashback by Shannon Messenger 4/7.5. the was my least favorite book in series so far, however the fact that still gave it almost 5 stars should tell you a lot about the quality of the series.
The secret adversary by Agatha Christie 3/5. this was pretty forgettable.
The Norse myths by Kevin Crossley-Holland na/5. this was a cute little about Norse book I don't always rate books about mythology [ I do the same for science books]
Loot: Britain and the Benin bronzes 5/5. okay so the fact that Britain has all this stuff from other counties is already bad but when the counties want it back, they " work with them" like no Britain if they want SHIT THAT YOU STOLE YOU GIVE IT TO THEM.
My hero academia: Vigilantes idk how many volumes i read lol 5/5. i love this series i think it make the whole world of MHA better, at the end it said that the story goes into the main MHA manga so I can't wait to see them again.
Five nights at freaddy's bind up 1 4/5. my little sister loves the games so, told me to read the books, some of them were very creepy.
This is your brain on music by Daniel J. Levitin na/5. i love psychology and one of my favorites branches is music psychology, I think this was a good book to read it talks about some of the basic.
There were two song that came out this month that I listen too.
Do it like that by TXT X Joans brothers. this was kind of like my two worlds coming together, cus when I was little I watch camp rock a lot and when became older I got into kpop. I really like the song it is prefect for the summer.
Seven by Jungkook. when the title first came out, I thought it was going to be about the other members but oh was I wrong, but i am not mad about it the song is good i had it on repeat along with do it like that for weeks.

I ended up going to the mall today to go to Buckle for some new jeans and I thought what the heck, why not spend some time at Barnes & Noble while I'm there. And this has probably been the first time in years I've been to an actual bookstore. I'd forgotten the smell of books and how nice it is to hold an actual book in my hand. So I decided to splurge and buy a few books instead of using my kindle. I didnt spend a lot of time there but I picked 4 books that caught my eye.
Air Awakens by Elisa Kova -- I actually have already read this book via Kindle Unlimited, but sadly I had to return it in order to borrow more books. So I decided why not, just buy a physical copy of the book. Excited to re-read as it's been a couple of years.
Loki by Mackenzie Lee -- this is about Marvel Loki, it's supposed to go into the earlier years of his time with his asgard family when he's trying to find his place in the family and learning his magic and I thought that sounded interesting.
Court of the Vampire Queen by Katee Robert -- seems like a typical vampire romance story, not expecting too much out of it, but what can I say, I was kind of in the mood for a vampire romance
Zodiac by Romina Russell -- I find the art of zodiac fascinating even if I dont really believe in it. This I'm thinking is a space odyssey type of story featuring zodiac as a premise and the main character falls under the cancer sign which is my sign. So I had to pick this one up out of principle alone.
This is honestly the first time in a while I've actually bought books kind of blind (exception being the first book), i didnt spend a lot of time reading a couple chapters seeing if I'd be into it. Just chose a few books that seemed like they would be up my alley. So let's see how they are, hopefully I didnt waste $50.

A Favorite Book by My Favorite Authors
Okay, so it took a long time for me to finally decide and write this post because I really want to bring a variety of posts to this blog. Though I have a lot of favorite authors, I’ve selected my top few and my favorite book from their works. So here’s a list of my favorite book from my favorite authors.
Insanity by Cameron Jace
This is book 1 in the series of the same name and follows Alice Wonder who is stationed in an asylum after killing her classmates. Little does Alice know that there’s a world beyond hers where fantasies become a reality and monsters lurk, ready to invade and kill the people of her world. Monsters, only she can slay.
Though I’m obsessed with the entire series, since I’m only supposed to talk about one book, I chose this one because this is where it all started and I love the setting of Oxford University.
Zodiac by Romina Russell
This is book 1 in the series of the same name and follows Roma who’s trying to save her planet Cancer from being destroyed. The entire zodiac constellation is in danger and if Roma doesn’t step up and confronts the monster then the entire Zodiac will be on the verge of extinction.
This is another series I’m obsessed with because of the world that the author created. I love the setting of this book as I’m an astrology and astronomy fan and this series fulfills that need of mine.
Escape by Nenia Campbell
This is book 4 in the Horrorscape series and follows Gavin and Valerian as they embark on one final game and decide who will be the winner. Who will be the one in control. Rules are broken and people are killed and in the end it’s the prey with the predator.
Obsession is a small word for what I feel for this series but this is my favorite book in the entire series because I’m in love with the characters and Gavin’s family is just insane. I love how it all ends and I just wish I could read this book for the first time all the time.
Scorpia Rising by Anthony Horowitz
This is book 9 in the Alex Rider series and revolves around the life of Alex who is on the lookout for the greatest criminal organization Scorpia for the sole motive of revenge. But when old friends reach out and death threatens to take hold, Alex Rider must do whatever he can to protect the ones he love even if he has to sacrifice himself in the process.
Though these books are meant for younger readers I personally think these books are timeless and can be enjoyed by any age group. And this is my favorite book in the entire series and so this book is on this list.
All’s Well by Mona Awad
This is a standalone and revolves around the life of Miranda Fitch who is a drama professor in a college but is envious of practically everyone around her due to all the difficulties she’s facing in terms of her health. When the time comes for the annual play her students want to perform Macbeth while she wants them to perform All’s Well. And when she comes across three generous men who make her an offer she can’t refuse, Miranda’s life takes a turn for the better. She thought her life couldn’t get any better until she realizes that there’s always a price to pay.
I have yet to read the author’s latest works but of the books I’ve read so far this has been my favorite and I loved the ending and the climax within the story.
Babel by R. F. Kuang
This is a standalone book and follows the life of Robin and his friends who get admission in the prestigious Oxford University in the translation department. However, they soon encounter problems in terms of racism and competition and Robin needs to figure out what’s important to him and what he’s willing to do to get it.
This book is so intelligently written that I can’t help but fall in love with it. I loved the writing style and the whole academia setting and I really want everybody to read this book.
Digital Fortress by Dan Brown
This is a standalone book and revolves around Susan Fletcher who is a mathematician working with the National Security Agency. But when the Agency comes across a code they cannot break, it is up to Susan to solve the problem. However, when she discovers the danger that threatens to destroy the agency, Susan is caught up in a roller coaster of secrets and betrayal and getting out of it might just kill her and the man she loves.
I read this book a really long time ago but I remember it to this day. And most importantly, I remember the emotions it invoked within me and I absolutely love a book that can do that.
Phantom Heart by Kelly Creagh
This is book 1 in the series of the same name and follows the life of Stephanie Armond who has just moved into a new house with her family. She soon comes across rumors regarding the house and she soon realizes that the rumors carry a heavy dose of truth in them. But when she meets Lucas who holds a lot of interest in her house, she has no choice but to accept that the house is haunted, and the man haunting her house is the same one who takes her breath away in her dreams.
I love this author and all the books by them. And I was having a tough time deciding between this book and Enshadowed, which is book 2 of the Nevermore series. But in the end Erik and his many beautiful masks won my heart and I ended up putting this book on this list.
And that’s it. These are my favorite books from some of my favorite authors. Let me know if you’ve read any of these books and what you think of them. Do you love them as much as I do or not?
