Eddie Munson Goes Viral
Eddie Munson had gone viral.
And not in a fun way he could brag about, like Corroded Coffin finally getting their big break or one of his D&D campaigns reaching Critical Role–level attention.
No, Eddie had gone viral because of Chrissy Fucking Cunningham.
Don’t get Eddie wrong; he liked Chrissy, really. He’d even had a little baby crush on her once upon a time, before he realized boys were probably more his thing in the long-run. And despite being in drastically different social circles, they still hung out every couple of months, when Chrissy wanted to get high and talk shit about the cheerleaders and jocks she spent most of her time with.
That’s exactly what they had been doing when The Incident occurred: smoking in Eddie’s trailer and making fun of Jason Carver.
“The squad and I had been practicing that dance for hours, and he just kicked us out of the gym before we could even finish recording the video!”
“Why are you even with that clown?” Eddie asked, taking another hit of the joint they had been passing back and forth.
Chrissy sighed and shrugged. “Because not all of us have the confidence to not give a fuck what’s expected of us,” she finally answered, not unkindly. “I just wish we had gotten to finish the video, you know? That dance is trending everywhere right now, and I think we could have gotten some serious likes with the whole squad doing it.”
“Why don’t you just post it on your own?” Eddie asked.
“It won’t be the same!”
“Come on, Chrissy,” Eddie said with that grin—the one he knew fluttered the heartstrings of anyone he shot it at. “Show me the dance, won’t you?”
Chrissy protested for a minute, but she was relaxed and loose—she must have taken something else before she got to Eddie’s trailer, because his stash wasn’t that good—and Eddie knew she really did want to show him the dance. She had a pipe dream of becoming a “content creator” just like every other hot teenager at Hawkins High. And doing her dumb little TikTok dance in Eddie “The Freak” Munson’s living room had viral potential.
(Oh poor, Eddie. Hindsight is a bitch.)
“Fine, fine!” Chrissy finally shouted with a giggle. “Go get your guitar? You can accompany me!”
Eddie chuckled and pulled himself to his feet, stubbing the joint out in the nearest ashtray before heading back to his bedroom. He heard Chrissy setting up her ring light in the front of the trailer—because of course she carried a ring light with her—while he grabbed his guitar and poked around his cramped bedroom for a spare pick.
“All right, Chrissy,” Eddie said as he strode back into the living room. “Show me this…”
But Eddie didn’t get a chance to finish his thought, because something was wrong with Chrissy. She had gotten her camera set up near the door, and it was pointing straight to where she was standing stock-still in the center of the room. Her limbs and neck were stretched taut, giving the illusion that she was being drawn into the air. Her eyes were wide and practically rolled back into her head, the whites nearly all Eddie could see.
“Chrissy…” Eddie said softly, wondering, praying that this was somehow part of the dance. A spin on “Thriller” or something. But he’d known Chrissy a long time, and she wasn’t that good of an actress. “Hey, hello, Chrissy?”
Eddie stood right in front of her, waving and clapping his hands in front of her blank eyes. Nothing.
“Hey Chrissy, time to wake up. Can you hear me?”
Eddie took a shallow breath, willing himself not to panic.
“Chrissy, wake up!” Eddie shouted, his voice strangled. “I don’t like this, Chrissy! Wake up!”
Eddie threaded his hands into his long curls and tugged, eyes flicking across the room, as if the answer of what to do was going to be sitting in the middle of Uncle Wayne’s mug collection.
It was like time was standing still and they were in some kind of trance. Eddie could see exactly what would happen if Chrissy died right now, almost as if he were watching it play out on screen. Chrissy, Hawkins’ perkiest blonde cheerleader, winds up dead in the local super-senior drug dealer’s trailer. No one would believe him when he said all they did was smoke a joint. Everyone would think he did this—killed Chrissy. A mob led by Jason Carver would come crashing into the trailer park, hellbent on Eddie’s demise. Eddie’s life would be over before he even got to graduate high school.
Eddie took a deep breath, put his hands on Chrissy’s shoulders, and shook. “CHRISSY, WAKE UP!”
She gasped.
Chrissy took a deep, shuddering breath, and collapsed into Eddie’s arms, her eyes their normal blue again, but bloodshot and watery now.
“Eddie?”
“Jesus Christ, sweetheart, what did you take?”
Eddie helped Chrissy down from her bad trip—she refused to let him call an ambulance; she must have known what it would look like, too. He cautioned her about mixing drugs and made her drink about a gallon of water, and finally allowed her to leave when her pupils were a normal size again.
Eddie went to bed that night, still shaking, but relieved that he could put the traumatic incident behind him.
He was wrong.
That weekend, Eddie was scrolling online when he suddenly heard his own voice emanating from the tiny speakers. He scrolled back to the video that had autoplayed and nearly dropped his phone when he saw it. The video showed Chrissy’s bad trip in his living room, Eddie screaming and shaking her, and Chrissy finally slumping into his arms. Eddie had completely forgotten her phone had been recording the whole time, rolling and ready for her TikTok dance.
Only in this version of the video, someone had autotuned his screams into a macabre little song. His panicked clapping, intended to break Chrissy out of her drug-induced trance, became a backbeat and his shouts the chorus. If Eddie hadn’t remembered how fucking terrified he’d been, it might have been halfway catchy.
When Eddie saw how many views the video had, he almost dropped his phone again. Close to one million and counting—and it was posted by none other than Chrissy Cunningham.
“Chrissy, what the ACTUAL fuck?” Eddie said Monday morning, slamming his hand against her locker door, rings clanging, metal on metal.
“Eddie, Jesus, you scared me,” Chrissy said with a nervous chuckle.
“Chrissy,” Eddie said softly. “Why the hell am I a trending sound on fucking TikTok?”
“I’m sorry, okay!” Chrissy cried, pulling Eddie into the stairwell. God forbid someone see them talking in public. It’s not like Chrissy posted a viral video of them hanging out or anything. “I was still kind of freaked out when I got home, and then I saw the video, and, I don’t know, I thought it was sweet, how you tried to help me. And I thought maybe if I posted it, people would see you aren’t as scary as you seem. That you’re not a freak; you’re just a nice guy.”
Eddie bit the inside of his cheek. “I like being the freak.”
Chrissy rolled her eyes and continued. “Anyway, my brother was walking by my room and he heard the video, and he thought it sounded kind of cool. And he’s studying music in college, so he copied it and made the little autotuned version, and, I don’t know. I thought it was fun. And it made the whole thing seem not so scary, you know? I didn’t realize it would go viral, but isn’t it kind of cool?”
Eddie crossed his arms across his chest, the leather of his jacket creaking ominously. “No, Chrissy, it’s not ‘cool.’ It was fucking terrifying and now I gotta hear it every time I open my phone. My dad emailed me from prison to tell me he’d seen it. He didn’t even email me on my birthday.”
Chrissy’s eyes fell to her sneakered feet, pink creeping up her neck. “I’m sorry, Eddie. I—I didn’t think about it from your perspective.”
“Can you just take it down?”
Chrissy’s eyes shot back up. “Oh, definitely not.”
Eddie blinked. “What?”
“Do you know how many followers I’ve gotten in the last two days? How many people have made their own edits and versions of the video? One of the girls on the squad is already choreographing a new cheer to the song for Friday’s game.”
Eddie was speechless, standing in the stairwell gaping like a fish.
“I’m sorry I didn’t ask you first, but this video has been kind of awesome for me, so no, Eddie. I won’t delete it. But let me know if you want to do a duet or anything. We could recreate it—imagine the views!”
Chrissy quickly turned around, walking down the hallway with a bounce in her step. Eddie sunk to the floor.
Eddie spent the next two weeks impatiently waiting for some new viral video to shove “Chrissy, Wake Up!” back into the recesses of the internet where it belonged. A heartwarming sports moment, a new Beyoncé song, a cat snuggling a bear, a kid waxing poetic about fucking corn—Eddie would have taken anything. But his autotuned hellhole could not be escaped.
Every day, there was a new variation, with Eddie’s screams edited into another song or overlapping another unexpected video. Chrissy was fully embracing her fifteen minutes of internet fame (she’d been pissed when Eddie had refused to do a live Q&A with her), and Eddie had all but stopped going to school. If he had to pass one more kid humming the song in the hallways or shouting his own words back at him in the cafeteria, he was absolutely going to lose it.
Which is how Eddie ended up at the local Family Video on a random Monday afternoon, figuring if he couldn’t use the internet, at least he could go old school and watch a DVD or something.
The bell jingled as Eddie opened the door and he looked up only to lock eyes with—
“Steve Harrington?”
“Munson? What the hell are you doing here?”
“I could ask you the same question,” Eddie sidled up to the counter where Steve was scanning in returns. He dropped his chin into his hands and grinned up at “King Steve.” He was delighted to see a blush creep into Steve’s cheeks.
(Yeah, that baby crush on Chrissy had evaporated the second Eddie spotted Steve Harrington in the Hawkins Middle School hallway as a youth. Sue him; the guy was hot.)
“I work here. That’s typically what folks do when they graduate—they get jobs.”
“Ah, you see, that explains my confusion. Haven’t quite jumped that hurdle yet! But don’t worry; I think this is going to be my year.” Eddie winked and Steve dropped the DVD case he was holding.
“Anyway,” Eddie continued, once Steve had picked up the movie and returned to his scanning, “I’m looking for something to fill my time, as I’m off the internet for a while. Any suggestions?”
“Oh yeah, I heard about that video, man. That really sucks.”
Eddie stood up straight. “It does?”
“Yeah, I’m sure that wasn’t a fun experience to go through the first time, and to keep getting bombarded by it all the time? I can’t imagine. I’ve gone through some shit, believe me. The idea of somebody making it a joke? Dick move, seriously.”
Eddie felt as if the world had turned upside down. Sure, Eddie had been fantasizing about Steve Harrington for years. He wondered what his hair felt like, what cologne he used, and if there was room for Eddie’s hands in the back pockets of Steve’s tight-ass jeans. But Steve had honestly been a Grade-A asshole in school. He didn’t always dish out the abuse personally, but he certainly didn’t stop it from happening either. He was captain of the swim team and the basketball team and dated soon-to-be valedictorian Nancy Wheeler for, like, two years. So Eddie had ogled from afar, but he definitely never thought that Steve was capable of empathy, especially not toward him.
And now? Yeah, Eddie was definitely crushing on him.
Realizing that he’d been staring at Steve for far too long, Eddie cleared his throat. “Uh, yeah, thanks man. It’s not been the best month, to say the least.”
“Dustin told me Chrissy refused to take the video down, too? Not cool.”
Eddie’s brain short-circuited again. “Wait, Dustin? How do you know Henderson?”
“I’m the little jerk’s babysitter. We practically grew up together; he’s like the little brother I never wanted.” Steve rolled his eyes, but his smile was fond.
It was official: Eddie was a goner.
“I love that kid,” Eddie said softly. Dustin was the first freshman to sign up for Hellfire Club this year, and he’d dragged all his little friends with him. He could be a little shit, sure, but he was loyal to a fault and he reminded Eddie why he spent months writing campaigns and researching monsters. Why he didn’t mind being a third-year senior sometimes, because if he had graduated, he never would have gotten to take the latest group of outcasts under his tattooed, leather-clad wings.
“It’s, uh, kind of slow today,” Steve said, gesturing at the empty video store. “You’re welcome to hang out here for a bit. We can throw on a movie, pretend it’s the 80s and we don’t all have computers in our pockets.” This time Steve was the one grinning, and Eddie swooned.
“Sure, Harrington. That sounds fun.”
And that’s how they spent the day. They bickered over the movie—Steve refused to put on the extended edition of Lord of the Rings, even though it was the only way to watch them. Eddie begged, Steve flushed, and suddenly they were watching Fellowship of the Ring.
The next day went much the same way. But this time, Steve flirted them into watching a movie of his choosing.
By the third day of Eddie loitering at Family Video, Steve and Eddie were practically sharing a chair and steadfastly not talking about it. Until the bell over the door chimed late that afternoon and Robin Buckley stormed in with Dustin Henderson in tow.
“Dingus!” She shouted, and Steve jumped, practically falling out of Eddie’s lap. “You were supposed to be our ride from school. What are you still doing here?”
Steve rushed over to Robin—Eddie completely forgot they were friends—mumbling apologies.
“Eddie?” Dustin spotted him from the doorway and shoved past Robin to get to him. “Where have you been, man? Hellfire has been worried. You haven’t been answering anyone’s texts.”
“I’m taking a social media break, young Padawan,” Eddie said as he stretched. He ruffled Dustin’s hair over his hat, and the kid grinned practically ear to ear. “I’ve been taking the opportunity to educate your dear babysitter here on the importance of Peter Jackson’s original trilogy.”
Dustin’s head shot to Steve. “What the hell, Steve! You NEVER want to watch Lord of the Rings with me! I’ve asked you like a million times!”
“Well, kid, I’m not trying to woo you.”
Now it was Eddie’s turn to whip his head to Steve. Steve smirked when they locked eyes, Robin rolled her eyes, and Eddie did not blush to his ears.
Dustin scoffed. “Oh my god, you two? Gross!” He paused. “Or maybe not. This could actually be really good for me…”
Eddie punched Dustin softly in the shoulder. “Leave the wooing to grown-ups, yeah?”
“Wait, so, Eddie, you’ve been at Family Video all week? Chrissy’s been telling everyone you’re on the run or something,” Robin said. “Which didn’t make a lot of sense, now that I think about it. But you’ve been radio silent and basically dropped off the face of the earth, and you have this whole mysterious bad boy vibe, which apparently works for some people”—she shot Steve a baffled look—“so I guess people bought into it. But whatever, why have you been with Steve? I didn’t even know you knew each other. How long has this been a thing?”
“Breathe, Rob,” Steve said, placing a hand on her arm. “Eddie came in Monday to get a break from the stupid viral video, and we’ve just been…hanging out.” He smiled and Eddie told his heart firmly to cool it.
“Oh! Have you heard the new Taylor Swift version?” Robin asked excitedly before reading the room. “Never mind, it’s not that good.”
“So, it’s still everywhere, huh?” Eddie said with a sigh, slumping back into the chair behind the counter.
“What we really need is a new meme to replace it,” Dustin says. “Rather than a new variation of ‘Chrissy, Wake Up!’”
“I’m open to ideas, kid.” Eddie sighed. “I really don’t want this dumb video to be my legacy, you know? I just want to graduate and move on. Maybe take Corroded Coffin on a tour of the Midwest. Road trip to a music festival with the guy I’m crushing on. Be normal.”
Steve shrugged. “I think we can make that road trip happen either way,” he said casually. Eddie bit back a smile. “But totally on board for dethroning Chrissy. Robin, you still have that white board?”
After hours of brainstorming at the video store, Dustin’s genius plan had been…create a better viral video. Easier said than done, Eddie presumed.
Dustin volunteered himself and the other nerds from Hellfire—along with Lucas’s and Mike’s girlfriends—to come up with something. And that weekend, Dustin posted a short film they wrote and starred in.
Chief Hopper’s daughter, El, played some sort of superhero, alongside Will Byers. There were giant spider monsters, evil scientists, shady government figures, and a bizarrely touching montage to some old Kate Bush song. Eddie had to give it to them—their special effects were pretty convincing. And the fact that these six kids spent their whole weekend trying to help him would probably have made Eddie cry if he dwelled on it for too long.
The video went up, and Eddie, Steve, and Robin wasted hours at Family Video the next week trying not to check their phones. The kids’ movie actually ended up getting some decent traction in Hawkins—the local news even did a segment on the kids—but it wasn’t enough to push “Chrissy, Wake Up!” out of the top slot. Their video petered out after about 100,000 views—and then someone added Eddie’s voice to a clip of Max Mayfield from the video, where she did some sort of stunt with a wire. And suddenly a new wave of remixes flooded the internet.
“Ugh!” Eddie shouted one night while he and Robin were having pizza at Steve’s. “I’m just so sick of this. How am I supposed to escape being Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson if every time I open my phone it’s shoved in my face?”
Steve wiped his hands on a napkin and laid a comforting hand on Eddie’s back, dragging it slowly back-and-forth across his denim vest. “It’s just the internet, Eds. It’ll die out eventually, I promise.”
“But when?” Eddie whined, thumping his head onto the table.
“Maybe you should lean into it,” Robin suggested, reaching for another slice of pizza.
Eddie raised his head slightly. “What do you mean?”
“You’re a musician. I’ve heard you in band, and Steve listens to your Corroded Coffin stuff all the time.”
Eddie looked up to find Steve’s cheeks pink as he scowled at his best friend.
“You been listening to my music, Stevie?” Eddie raised an eyebrow at the man next to him.
“Yeah, yeah. I’ve got it bad for you, Munson. Don’t let it go to your head.” Steve nudged Eddie’s shoulder with his own, picked up his ringed hand, and kissed it softly, like Eddie was a Victorian maiden. Eddie thought he might simply pass away.
“I can’t believe you’re in gay love before me. This is disgusting,” Robin scoffed. “Anyway, what I was saying is you should just, like, cover the song or something. Make it your own. Maybe once people see you’re in the on the joke, it won’t be so funny anymore.”
Eddie’s jaw dropped. The more he thought about it, the more he loved it.
He leapt from the table, planting a wet kiss on Robin’s cheek on his way to the door. “I love you, Buckley.”
“Hey!” Steve pouted.
Eddie blew Steve his own kiss in return from the doorway. “Rain check, big boy. I’ve got band rehearsal.”
It had been over a month since Chrissy Cunningham had nearly died in Eddie’s trailer, and Eddie was finally ready to get his revenge.
"Hey everybody, I’m Eddie Munson, and we’re Corroded Coffin!”
The crowd cheered. Steve had somehow managed to get the band a gig at a decent-sized bar the next town over. Uncle Wayne was seated at the bar, turned on his stool to face the stage. And Steve was standing right in front of the tiny stage, along with Robin, Nancy Wheeler, and Jonathan Byers. Jonathan was holding a professional-grade camera, and he was ready to capture the whole performance. Dustin had begged Steve to let the kids tag along, too, but seeing as they were fifteen and it was a school night, Steve told him no. They were back in the Wheelers’ basement planning to watch the livestream.
“Some of you lovely people might recognize me—or at least my voice—from a certain viral video that’s been going around lately.”
“Chrissy, wake up!” someone shouted from the crowd, and the room filled with laughter. Steve gave Eddie a tight smile and a nod of encouragement.
“Yeah, yeah, that’s me. But, see, that moment actually kind of sucked. I thought this friend of mine was literally dying in front of me, and I was really fucking scared, you know? And now it’s this meme I can’t get away from.” The room was still and Eddie let out an awkward laugh.
“Way to bring down the mood, Munson,” he joked into his mic, and the tension noticeably lifted. “So, since this song is stuck in everyone’s heads anyway, I thought I might as well play you a superior version—the metal version.”
The crowd cheered again, louder this time, and Eddie looked to his bandmates. The drummer kicked things off, and they played. Eddie shouted the words into his microphone—the same words he’d choked out that night a month ago in his trailer—but now, he wasn’t scared.
Before The Incident, Eddie had his uncle, the guys in Hellfire Club, and a few casual friends he’d get high with, like Chrissy. His life had been small, and that had been fine by him. But now, he had people. Dustin and his party, who spent a whole weekend making a seriously impressive little movie just to try to help him. He had Robin, and Nancy, and Jonathan, who drove an hour on a Wednesday night to watch his metal band perform TikTok songs without him having to ask. And he had Steve.
Beautiful, kind, smart Steve Harrington. Steve Harrington who realized he was a dick in high school and did the work to become a better person. Steve Harrington who spent a large percentage of his free time with a bunch of fifteen-year-olds because he genuinely enjoyed their company. Steve Harrington who watched twelve hours of Lord of the Rings movies without understanding anything that was happening just so he could listen to Eddie tell him about his favorite parts. (Eddie was a little bit in love with Steve Harrington.)
“I don’t like this, Chrissy.
"Jesus H. Christy.
“I don’t like this. Chrissy, wake up!”
Eddie ended the song with a scream and the whole bar roared their approval. Eddie looked down into the cheering crowd and locked eyes with Steve, and Steve was just smiling this big dumb smile that suggested maybe Steve was a little in love with Eddie, too.
Eddie slung his guitar behind his back. He jumped off the stage, grabbed the lapels of Steve’s horrible jacket, and kissed him. Jonathan swung the camera around, capturing the moment, and Eddie realized he and Steve just had their first kiss on a livestream and Dustin was watching. But he also realized that he didn’t care.
If any part of Eddie’s life ended up going viral, he was okay with it being this one.

Warriors:
Senior Leader, Ski Patrol & Part-Time Assistant Coach w/Time
Skier - Speciality: Slalom Ski
Has the best drip on the mountain. Colour matched outfit and gear.
Technique snob. But he looks elegant af so it’s hard to turn your nose up at his advice.
Mostly teaches novice teen-adult ski classes. Tends to be the designated instructor for private lessons.
Knows the students in his class are crushing on him and taking sly snapchats, but he’s cool with it. Legend makes sure to body check him into a now drift if it gets to his head.
Lead coordinator for Search & Rescue.
Schedules all safety and team briefings for first thing in the morning (much to the annoyance of LITERALLY EVERYONE).
Is a stickler for rules and will enforce them if people are being unsafe on piste.
Will stop snow spray other members of the ski patrol (makes sure to have a swift exit strategy when he targets Legend & Four).
Wears those old school ski sunglasses.
Sky:
Ski Patrol Member
Snowboarder - Specialty: Big Air
Is so often late to morning briefing sessions, he is immune to Wars’ glare.
Rides goofy.
Tends to be a very laidback and confident rider and isn’t one to race down the mountain at mach speed.
HOWEVER, he will absolutely send it over huge jumps whenever he feels he needs to remind everyone how much of a badass he is.
Dude has no fear of heights.
Will occasionally assist in lessons, but is not a primary instructor and would prefer not to be.
Gives one of the smoothest rescue toboggan rides down the mountain.
Will stop and offer encouragement to new snowboarders.
Twilight and Sky have a long standing skier/snowboarder rivalry going and do not miss an opportunity to be little shits to each other.
Will give ONE free pass for rule breaking.
Wolfie:
MVP Ski Patrol Member
Best digger on the Search & Rescue Team.
Often found riding the lift with Twilight.
Will catch a ride across Twilight or Wars shoulders when too tired to run back down the mountain.
Barks encouragingly at the kiddos learning to pizza.
Sits beside the t-bar so he can get extra pats from riders heading up the mountain.
On his off duty days, he is more often than not, dog-napped by Wild & Hyrule to go skijoring.
Best boy on on the mountain, no debate.
Four:
Pro Shop Technician & Part-Time Ski Patrol Member
Skier - Blade Skis (that he CNC machined himself).
Has no end of patience helping fit the excitable kiddos with rentals. But can and will get sassy with entitled tourists who think they know more than him.
Prefers quick carving to really test the limits of his equipment.
Has fixed more equipment of Wild’s than he cares to think about. Four: “HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO BEND YOUR SKI IN THIS DIRECTION?!?”
More often than not can be found at the terrain park.
Backpack, sunglasses, hands in pockets. He’s a whole vibe and knows it.
Runs a small artisan shop selling CNC’d speciality ski blades.
Fills in on Ski Patrol if someone is away/sick.
Much to his dismay, is usually designated as the ‘patient’ for practice rescue scenarios. But, admittedly, enjoys riding in the rescue toboggan especially if Hyrule is driving as he full sends it down the mountain.
Um this is getting a tad long. I’ll have to put the other boys full description in another post at a later date. But here’s the overview (mostly so I don’t forget!)

I’ve Neglected To Post This
I feel like one of the reasons I’ve neglected to write this part is not wanting to admit to myself or anyone that I knew all alone, and also not wanting to admit that I googled Andrew years after we broke up and found some crazy evidence that I needed to find but I didn’t want to find……
it’s like I knew the signs, and my gut knew all along that something was wrong with my relationship with Andrew but I feel like I was such in a mentally unstable place and desperate for his attention and the romance he gave me was so great, but it was so fake and I just didn’t want to accept that. I wanted to believe the lies he was feeding me.
Before we actually started a “relationship” we had been spending a summer together off and on obviously he was feeding me breadcrumbs but I never heard of such a thing. I knew nothing about “breadcrumbing” I just felt like he was busy working and when he wasn’t working, he sometimes was flirting with me 😝 So I wouldn’t ever text him unless he texted me first!! (But also sometimes he would read my text and not respond for hours 😒) there was days I felt he really had a crush on me and other days I wondered was he just looking for booty 😳😳😳
one night I remember I had a dream and in the dream we are on this playground that I’ve never been to before never saw it and we’re on this playground hanging out talking obviously the feelings for me are getting strong at this point and I’m just really feeling like I like him A LOT and I want to pursue him but as I look on the playground equipment there was a nasty tarantula and although that part bothered me, it also to me, felt like it represented my female sexual side and the fact that Andrew and I had done so much flirting…… When I woke up of course he was there wishing me good morning and I told him I dreamt about him and how nice it was (I left out the spider part obviously) and I remember us flirting so much that morning 😆 he said he liked that I had dreamed about him … blah
so years later after we’re broken up and I moved on and I’m married then Covid happened and I wondered how my exes were doing if they were OK did they get sick? Did they get the shot? There were so many questions I had and I still felt like I cared about them even though I knew that they hurt me ! I had already googled Cody off and on but I never googled Andrew just because I was scared to and too upset BUT eventually I took the deep breath and the risk and I googled him… cuz I had too strong of feelings still good and bad! A lot of confusion too!!!!!!!
I first googled his phone number to see what’s going on there and I found out he had a new address and I thought “oh ok he moved” and I looked up his new area that he moved to , and there was a picture for that area and oh wow it was the same exact playground I had seen in that dream!!!!!! I recognized it immediately and has chills all over me!! NOW this really weirded me out and it actually made me wonder if it meant I would be back in his life again. Like, was it a dream that was going to come to pass still??? And I started questioning my whole life (cuz I was married ya know)
So I really thought a lot about what it means and realize it probably means that my gut was even telling me in my dream back then that he wasn’t a good guy for me. The fact I saw a spider near him AND the fact he’s moved to the same area I saw in that dream, he clearly wasn’t meant to stay in my life… unless I’m wrong 😳
It just all makes me look so stupid like “how did you not see that, girl?? How were you really that blind??” Truth is, we always believe what we want to!! I wanted to believe Andrew was becoming the love of my life because of the multiple intimate conversations we had and the way he promised me marriage and kids some day. I was planning a baby with him… I would use those apps where you combine your photos and it shows what your kid would look like and ugh 😩 I thought I wanted it so bad. We would send Snapchat’s to each other just smiling all goofy and I thought it was so real!! It wasn’t though and my instincts about him were always 💯 true!! Just had to accept that…. And catch up my head and close off my heart and feelings. 🥺I’ve been trying to use this dream as another reason and reminder for closure. Whenever I want to relapse and unblock his #, I say “oh but he’ll only use you more and cheat and you’ll lose you’re amazing husband and hurt his family” ugh 😣

hoa! hoa! hoa!, so the coma sequence was a reference of novel Xiao ge walking to death with Wu xie? cause boooi that scene gets a whole new dimension of feels xD u can see ZYL going thru a whole range of emotions before settling on resignation, at first I thought it was because they were gonna separate but the implication that he knew in that moment that his lover-not-lover was gonna follow anyways is... and it ties up with the 4 ep when Wu Xie tells him if he gonna die it will be on the road and Xiaoge is all 'baby I'll follow u'... man... THE BAR IS HIGH
Yeah!!! I for real am saying, this is hands down THE BEST pingxie scene in all the series to me!! because it's literally both hella important things about the two (and maybe even more meanings behind as @eirenical said in her post), bc they played it ohhh sooo damn well). 1st its for sure that he stopped him from "going into the light" and it's partially SOP (or NYs??) scene when he had a nightmare of dead PanZi (Ah Ning wasn't there in the book if I remember correctly?) and then he was standing near that monument thinking how he must live cause Xiaoge will come back soon.
But its not only this, cause that doesn't quite explain all of it and his nod as in "its okay". There was also another post here (I cannot find it T_T), that said this too. That brings us to the 2nd part where he dreamt about himself dying and how Xiaoge being there the moment he dies made him feel tanquil: "I think I was seriously sick and felt as if I chose the end of my life myself. But for some reason with him there next to me I was surprisingly content and felt no regrets. So what if I can't live forever with him, at least for a bit I found a way to coexist with him in the same place at the same time... I didn't think it would be so romantic. No one else in this world could turn death into a spice that brings out the taste of dreamy romance. No one else could make it so effortless." Bc in SOP book he was very scared of a dream of dead PanZi and it's seen in this scene in Reboot too, he clearly doesn't want to go with them and he's scared too. But in his notes he says that if Xiaoge is with him, he's surpringly fine with it and feels safe, content and unafraid. I will fucking not cry no.
But also 3rd one.. lets not forget his (and Qiling's too) fetish of I quote "we either go on together or we die together" (and we all remember the mountain walk of "You're going there to die, aren't you? If so, I'm going with you.") So we know canonically they both admitted that one won't exist without the other, but in the books it's in Wu Xie's thoughts and Xiaoge's "you're the only thing that ties me to this world" still doesn't reach his brain, so there he constantly thinks that "if Xiaoge dies, I also don't wanna live, but if I die, Xiaoge will keep living" BUT in Reboot the changed it (to make it as a happy end) bc there like they both clearly know that if Wu Xie dies they both die and don't hide it in any way (that's why I made this post xD). So I don't exclude the fact that what stopped him was also the fact that Xiaoge was like "its okay" and after that Wu Xie was like "hell to the no" lol
The bar is sooo high I can't even, I mean how do I live with these two and their love, idk, they ruined everything for me and they keep going T_T

NOTE: I had a little conversation with @ssa-m-187 about a post which discussed that trope where Person A caresses Person B’s cheek, and then Person A leans into their touch and holds their arm to keep them there for comfort.. I mentioned that I might add it into one of my requests, and this is where it ended up! 😂❤
I also decided to add an alternate/additional smut ending in case anyone wanted only the fluff. It will be clearly marked when the smut starts if you choose not to read it!
MASTERLIST | 1K MASTERLIST
***
Nothing bad ever happened to her. Spencer wished that was an exaggeration but it wasn't. In all the years he'd known Y/N, she was never kidnapped, no one she loved ever got kidnapped, and she never even got sick. Her moods were always visibly happy, no one had ever seen her with so much as a sprained ankle, and even bad hair days always seemed to escape her grasp.
So naturally, when she got taken by Ben's Believers, it came as no shock that Spencer was losing his mind.
Everyone kept telling him that they'd get her back, and that they all knew what to do, but it didn't stop the sinking feeling that weighed his heart down, far away from the surface where she was safe and waiting for him.
Guess it's safe to say, this whole situation stirred up some feelings he hadn't even known existed.
The first thing that came to his mind, aside from the initial shock of her being gone, was the first moment they met.
Y/N and Ashley Seaver had both been added to the team around the same time, and after losing Emily, the three of them had practically become inseparable. But that first meeting, the very second he laid eyes on her, it was something purely magical.
She was trying to open a jar of pickles in the break room, breathy and aggravated curses spilling from her mouth as if she were a sailor.
"Do you need any help?" Spencer asked, not intending to scare her.
But alas, she jumped, dropping the jar of pickles and causing it to shatter everywhere. "Shit!"
He offered to help clean it up, and she accepted, sighing about how everything she had was going to smell like pickles for at least a week. And once everything was picked up, she grabbed a pickle that had landed on the counter and took a bite, promptly saying, "Well, at least I got it open," with a mouth-full of pickle. "Thanks for scaring me, bud."
It was amusing to say the least.
And every time they'd gone out for food since then, Spencer made sure to order something with a pickle every time, just so he could offer it to her and hear her laugh about that day. Every time, she mirrored that moment, taking a bite and saying, "Thanks, bud."
Of course, back then he hadn't realized he did it because he liked her. He just thought it was nice to see her smile, to hear her laugh. That's what friends did, right? Made each other laugh?
That's what kept him going as they searched high and low for answers to get her back. Her laugh. It was there, replaying on a loop in his brain as if he could ever forget it.
And when he got her back, he vowed to make sure he made her laugh for the rest of time.
When they knew where to find Y/N, Spencer made it his mission to be the one who got her out of there. He wanted to be the one she saw when she was being rescued. He wanted to be the one who made sure she was finally safe again and out of harm's way.
And most importantly he wanted to tell her that he loved her. And he didn't want to spend another day without being next to her.
But first he had to get her out of there.
The second he saw her, it was like everything moved in slow motion. She was strapped to some type of mechanism that kept her hands at her sides and her head facing forward. And despite the fact that she'd never been held hostage, she looked very calm. She looked like exactly what the cult wanted her to be: a sacrifice.
It made Spencer's stomach churn. And it felt even worse when they moved in. Because everyone was getting down, and the cult leader jumped for Y/N, striking to kill.
The gunshot stunned him. He stopped in his tracks, hoping and praying that she wouldn't be hurt, and for one final time before he actually moved, he replayed her laugh in his mind. He briefly held on to the image of Y/N smiling at him without a care in the world before he inevitably saw her face to face for the first time in days, most likely without said smile.
But of course, the second it was safe and he ran to her side, she looked up at him and smiled anyway.
As Emily got the final restraints off of her, Spencer took a huge sigh of relief and welcomed Y/N into his embrace.
"Hey, bud," she breathed into his neck, letting him squeeze her tightly. He could practically feel her smile burning into his skin, tattooing itself there for all the world to see, and he squeezed her tighter, thinking of how he wouldn't have it any other way.
They clung to one another the whole plane ride home, curled up into each other and falling asleep after all the stress they'd been under. And it was no surprise to anyone that they even held hands while they did.
Y/N dreamt of him the entire time.
Specifically, she was remembering the day she almost quit. It would have surprised anyone to know she'd felt that way considering she never let her bad days show. But in those particular few months, she had really missed her family—and Ashley,—the cases were getting more and more stressful, and it all seemed to really take a toll on her emotionally.
But that one fateful day, she walked into the round table room, expecting to find no one since she always showed up early, and instead she found Spencer with a large wicker basket.
"What are you doing here so early?" Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow.
He smiled shyly. "Oh, um... I know your birthday was last week, and I feel bad I missed it since I was visiting my mom, so... I wanted to celebrate with you when we had a little bit of time."
He handed her the basket, and she marveled at all its contents, ranging from a few of her favorite books in different copies she hadn't owned, an array of her favorite candies, and most exciting, a jar of pickles.
"Oh, before you break the jar, I have something else for you," he said with a small laugh, pulling something out of his jacket pocket. "I've read that these are good for helping you open jars, and I even got myself one because we all know you're way stronger than me, so if you can't open a jar of pickles, I probably couldn't either..."
She would never know this, but in that moment he was kicking himself for being so awkward, even though the two of them had been friends for years. And he'd never know, but she hadn't even recognized it as awkward. She was incredibly thankful and endeared by his thinking of her, and it was the one thing that made her realize she could never quit her job.
She loved him too much too leave.
So she didn't. That morning she'd been planning on telling everyone her plans to find another job somewhere else, maybe closer to her family, and that night she walked out of the office feeling loved and thankful for her friends, and one friend in particular.
Currently, said friend was sitting quietly in the parking lot of her apartment while she dug up the courage to ask him inside for the night. Her plans consisted of sleeping in for as long as she needed thanks to a well-deserved few days off of work, and though Spencer would most likely return earlier, she desperately hoped she could convince him to stay.
It was quiet for a while and the lights in the car had long since turned off, leaving them in darkness as well as silence. Despite that fact, it wasn't eerie in the slightest... It was comfortable.
Even more so when Y/N reached over and grabbed his hand.
And then she spoke.
"Can... Can you stay? I'm fine, I promise, I just... I could really use some company, you know?"
"Of course," he answered almost too quickly. It made her laugh, and though it was small, he felt a weight lift off his chest at the sound.
The two of them walked up to her apartment in more of that comfortable, dark silence. The only light source to be found was within the dim lights of the hallway, though they'd made the walk so many times it was like second nature.
That familiarity followed them through her doorway, Y/N taking off her jacket and instinctively handing it over with her to-go bag, where Spencer's arms were already outstretched. He took them and removed his shoes, then transported their belongings to the chair in the corner of her living room, maybe five or six steps ahead from the entryway.
Y/N took a large breath and smiled as she flipped on the lights.
Spencer noticed, turning to her with a smile of his own. "Good to be home?"
"Mhm," she responded with a nod. "But you know what would make it even better?"
The knowing smile they shared brought warmth to her chest as he made his way to the kitchen, saying, "Peppermint hot chocolate, coming right up."
As her best friend made noise in the kitchen, Y/N padded over to her couch, flipping on the table lamp next to it and sitting down with an over-exaggerated humph. Her legs curled off to the side as she leaned against the armrest, taking a deep breath and breathing in the warm comfort of home, only amplified a little while later by the aroma of soft peppermint.
She could hear Spencer humming quietly to himself in the kitchen, the sound bringing a smile to her face. He always absentmindedly hummed her favorite song when he was making them food or something to drink, or even when they were just hanging out together in comfortable silence. She wondered often if he ever sang it to himself when he was alone.
And she was going to ask, but before she got the chance, he came up behind her with two mugs of hot chocolate. She took hers gladly with a smile that perfectly matched the warmth of the mug. And while she took the first sip as he walked around the couch and took his regular spot on the cushion next to hers, that warmth spread to her chest. She sunk into the couch as her eyes fluttered closed.
Beside her she could hear Spencer laugh. "That good, huh?"
"You're an expert hot chocolate maker, don't let anyone tell you any different."
Another laugh came from him, and the sound bought warmth to other places.
They sipped their hot chocolate together, once again basked in silence that was only disrupted by the distinct ticking of Y/N's cuckoo clock, a Christmas gift from Spencer one year after she'd mentioned how much she was oddly fascinated by them. It sat on the wall across from them, next to the TV and right above a DVD rack with her favorite movies. She stared at the clock fondly as she drank her way through the hot chocolate, and Spencer did the same.
Eventually they were out, and once their mugs were placed on either side table, they found themselves turning to each other with more of that second nature pulling them together like the moon pulling the ocean. Once their knees touched it was like the ocean dragged them under, only rather than suffocating, they found themselves breathing easier, like they were finally at peace.
The clock rung out, and only after it finished echoing did Spencer initiate conversation. He examined the bruise right under her eye, and once again the gravitational pull was too much, his hand reaching out to touch it with curiosity as well as concern. "Are you feeling alright? Do you need some ice or anything?" he asked softly.
Y/N felt her heart stutter at the featherlight touch of his fingertips, and despite herself, she blushed. "No, I'm okay. Better now that I'm home. With you."
His eyes flicked up to meet hers at her words, and the softness and genuine relief he found in them made him melt.
He moved to take his hand away, but Y/N reached up and gently grabbed his wrist, bringing it back to her face pacing his palm firmly against the whole surface of her cheek. He watched lovingly as she closed her eyes and leaned into his hand further, bringing her hand to wrap around his forearm and hold him there. And in that moment, he had to wonder if she could hear the loud, intense beating of his heart as it drowned out the clock's ticking.
"I... I was so scared," Y/N whispered, keeping her eyes closed. "I mean... In the back of my mind I knew you guys would come for me, but... That was... my first time ever being in a hostage situation by myself, let alone at all, and I..." She paused, stumbling on her words before exhaling a breathy laugh. "Those people were creepy."
Spencer laughed with her, his hand still resting on her face. When she finally did open her eyes again, she looked up at him through her eyelashes, and in that moment she looked so soft and vulnerable that he couldn't help but finally tell the truth.
In a whisper so soft she almost didn't hear it, he confessed, "I was so afraid that I lost you..."
"Yeah, but... You found me," she returned with a smile as she nuzzled into his hand further. "You always do."
Something in the way she said it made him bolder, and he realized then that that's what she always did.
She strengthened him, made him more bold and determined... And she gave him something to hold onto when he was lost. When things felt impossible, Y/N always said the one thing that put him back together and made him feel whole again, whether it was a few sentences, or in this case three little words: "You always do."
Completing him was her second nature, something he wasn't even sure she was aware of.
But now that he knew, he had to tell her.
"Y/n..." Spencer traced his thumb along the underside of her bottom lip, and he could have swore he felt her sigh out. He stayed paused, reveling in the way he seemed to have an effect on her, his thumb longing to slide further and trace her entire mouth.
Nevertheless, he continued. "You are... Everything to me. And I don't tell you very often how much your friendship means to me, but I... I can't keep going forward without you knowing just how much I care about you. Really, it..." He huffed a laugh, hoping he wasn't making an utter fool of himself and that she wouldn't push him away at this confession that was dying to escape. "It's embarrassing how much I love you."
He couldn't tell if it was exhaustion taking hold of him, or the relief he felt at finally getting that off his chest, but he held his breath as he studied her eyes, which were glassy like she was on the verge of tears. Her grip around his forearm tightened and she turned, kissing the inside of his palm and keeping her lips pressed there for what felt like forever, until he started to feel his skin go numb. Realistically he knew it was only a trick on the brain, how such a simple affectionate gesture like that had the most heart-swelling and mind-numbing effects on him because of how much he loved her.
But damn it, he didn't care.
She murmured his name into his palm, and her eyes flicked up to meet his again. That's when he noticed a tear fall from her eye and down her cheek, right into the side of his thumb.
Finally, she responded, "I love you, too, Spencer. I... I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to tell you, but... After what just happened, I don't know if I could ever spend another day without loving you."
His heart absolutely burst at the seams, warmer than before, and most certainly not from the hot chocolate. That warmth only spread, turning into a raging wildfire when she let go of his hand and moved forward, practically tackling him and wrapping her arms around his neck, hugging him and pressing her face to the crook of his neck. His arms wrapped around her back, hugging her close as she straddled him and continued to nuzzle into his skin, his presence...
They held each other like that for a good minute before Y/N finally gained the courage to pull back and look into his eyes. They were just as glassy as hers, just as filled with love and comfort and home as she could ever have dreamed. Her hands slid down to rest on his shoulders for a moment before one of them cradled his face.
And then she kissed him.
She knew he loved her, he told her as much, but in case this was already going too far, Y/N kept it light and hesitant, desperately hoping it wouldn't make things weird.
But of course, there was nothing to worry about. And Spencer showed her that as his lips pressed deeper into hers, his hands on her back pushing her closer to him and seeking as much contact as possible.
She brought both of her hands to gently run through his hair, and at the sigh he let out against her mouth, Y/N tugged harder, pulling herself up so she could get into a better, more comfortable position on his lap.
They shared peppermint hot chocolate kisses until the clock rung out again, both of them pulling away with a little surprise.
"Has it really been an hour since it last went off?" Y/N mused in a whisper, taking in the swollen state of Spencer's mouth. The sight sent a course of butterflies through her stomach.
"I guess it has... It's um... It's late, maybe we should get some sleep."
"Only if you come with me," Y/N offered, running her fingers through his hair once more.
Spencer nodded with a small smile, his thumb tracing the bottom of her chin. "Of course."
They pulled themselves off the couch and, hand-in-hand, navigated their way to her bedroom. And even though they'd never actually done it before, sleeping in her bedroom together, the whole journey was so familiar it was like they'd done it a million times over.
SMUT ENDING BELOW
Y/N didn't know what time it was, only that the sun was brightly peeking through her sheer curtains, basking her bedroom in a warm glow that made it almost impossible to be comfortable under the covers. When she moved to take them off of her, she felt a hand snake around her waist, pressing firmly against her lower stomach and holding her in place.
"Are you awake?" she asked aloud to the air, softly in case Spencer was, in fact, still asleep.
"Mhm," he mumbled behind her, his breath softly fanning out across her shoulder. "Have been for about an hour."
"You could have woke me up," she said, turning around to face him. His hand lifted and then settled on her shoulder when she was in position.
"You deserved the rest," is all he offered in explanation as his hand gently brushed the hair from her shoulder. It tickled as it fell behind her, dropping off her body and across the back of her neck. Spencer trailed his fingers lightly up her neck until they reached her ear, and then he trailed them back down and over the curve of her shoulder, and then down her arm. He continued this and smiled as he took notice of the goosebumps that formed all over her skin. The thin tank top she'd changed into before bed left most of her exposed, each little freckle and hair that adorned her skin on display in the warm sunlight.
Meanwhile she smiled, heat slowly rising to her cheeks as she recalled their kisses on the couch. Needless to say, her dreams that night were rather scandalous, something she wasn't unfamiliar with, though given these new circumstances she was more than a little hot right now.
Spencer noticed, his hand halting its movement on her skin and resting itself on her waist over the blanket. "You're thinking about it, too? Last night?"
Y/N looked him in the eye and swore she saw them dilate when she responded. "Yeah. Among other things..."
"What... kind of other things?"
She would have told him, but since it was obvious they were both feeling the heat she bit her lip instead, a teasing look in her eye. "You're a smart man. You tell me."
"What if I... show you instead?" he whispered, his voice broken and obviously a little shocked that this was finally going to happen.
"Take it away, Doc."
His first kiss was sweet, reminiscent of the first one they shared on the couch, and his second was a little deeper. Y/N gave her stamp of approval by sighing, bringing a hand up to play with his hair again, and it was the trigger that shot him forward, his lips working hers with more passionate, methodical precision. Meanwhile his hand dipped under the covers and pressed firmly at her back, slipping under her shirt and bringing her closer.
She wrapped her leg over his waist, pulling herself forward to get as much contact as she could while he swiped over her bottom lip with his tongue. The small whimper she let out at his kisses made his hips buck forward involuntarily, to which Y/N clenched her leg tighter around his waist and tugged a little harder at his hair.
He tipped them over then, rolling so that he was hovering over her while their kisses only grew needier. His hand slipped under her shirt, feeling the expanse of her stomach and her sides. The low hum that came from her throat at his touches drove him half wild, so he boldened them, slowly sliding up and up until he reached her bare breasts. Her legs came out immediately and hooked themselves around the back of his thighs as she whined at his touch.
With curious kneads of her chest and even more exploratory kisses that were reciprocated with an equal hunger and passion, it didn't take long for Spencer to feel his insides churn with a desire that could possibly never be satiated. Even if Y/N was the one who kept him whole, he also knew she would be the one to completely wreck him to pieces. He'd rarely ever felt this type of desire before, especially not towards someone who took up every crack and crevice of his mind at any given moment. And now that he had it, he never wanted to let it go. She was going to utterly ruin him, and he'd never been more welcoming to that type of damnation—the type that was also his salvation.
Because she was everything all at once, devastatingly beautiful in every imaginable way.
Her hands tugged at his tee shirt, punctuating her urgency with a needy little whine into his mouth. He pulled back then, tugging off his shirt at the expense of taking his hands away from her. But from his higher position now, he took her in in all her wild glory, lips swollen and a little red, hair splayed out across the pillows, and her breathing visibly heavy. Even with the bruise under her eyes, she was the most breathtaking person he'd ever seen. She marveled up at him, willing her gaze to trail down his chest and stomach, her bottom lip tucking itself gently between her teeth as she stared at where his sweatpants hung low on his hips.
Y/N reached out and grazed her middle finger across the waistband of his pants, gently feeling the fabric and his skin at the same time. He was still, continuing to watch her explore his body the way he'd done hers, always amazed at the curious look in her eye— the one that was now swimming in a pool of lust. Her hand trailed upwards, feeling the soft planes of his torso until she couldn't reach any higher.
"Having fun?" Spencer mused with a smile as she rested both her hands on either side of his waist.
She sat up then, pressing a kiss to his neck while her hands travelled south, under the waistband of his pants. He sucked in a breath as she palmed him through his underwear, gently nipping his shoulder before she answered. "Oh, I'm having so much fun."
He was going to say something, but words escaped him as she sat up on her knees and continued tracing the outline of his dick through his underwear. He was painfully hard in an instant, a fact at which Y/N gave a low, amused laugh. Once she found the underside of his tip, she gently rubbed it through the fabric with her thumb, and the broken whine that he let out delighted her in every way. Her tongue traced his collarbone and the contours of his shoulders and neck until she reached his jawline. She licked him there too, humming as her thumb worked faster at his dick.
"Mmm, I've wanted this for so long," she told him softly, bringing her lips up to his ear. "Do you know how many times I've thought about us? Dreamed about us?"
"Not as many as me, probably," he choked out with a small laugh, audibly trying to keep it together as his stomach burned with every languid stroke of her thumb over his most sensitive point.
Y/N returned his laugh and sensually kissed his jaw before saying, "I doubt that." Then she dragged her mouth up to his lips and brought her hand out of his pants so she could thread all her fingers through his hair. Though they were kneeling, he was still taller than her, so his hard erection pressed firmly against her stomach as he brought her closer, gripping her hips and melting into her.
When his right hand slipped into her sleep shorts, she whined out and pressed herself harder against him, reveling in the way the heat from his hand practically burned into her ass. He kneaded her there as well, groaning into her mouth when she tugged on his hair and turned her head to deepen their kiss.
It was obvious that she was trying to feel some type of friction— her knees were willing her to get up higher, to feel him hard against her, but alas she wasn't able to reach. She showed her frustration by whining into his mouth and trying to pull herself up, the pressure of her arms around his neck getting stronger with every passing second.
"Spencer pulled away laughing a little, removing his hand from her shorts and bringing it to the front, dragging along the inside of her thigh. "Is there something you want from me, pretty girl?"
The nickname sent a fire through her veins that set off every smoke detector in her brain, the alarm coming out in the form of a whimper. "I want to feel you inside me," she whispered, nuzzling her nose to his and reaching down to guide his hand farther up. When his middle finger breached the fabric of her shorts, she whimpered again, willing herself closer to him. "Please, Spencer."
He hummed lowly, drawing circles into her skin. "Are you prepared? Like, do you... have condoms or anything, do we need one?"
"I have some in my top drawer if you want me to get it," she said quickly with a nod.
He laughed a little, amused at her eagerness, before pulling away from her and helping her off the bed. Once she was feet-first on the ground, she strode over to the dresser where she opened a small drawer on the top left and rummaged through it. Meanwhile Spencer followed her and came up behind her, pressing his front to her backside and making her tense. He brushed her hair aside and brought his lips to her neck, his hands resting at her waist.
She slowly rolled her hips against him, sighing out when his hands gripped her tighter. One of them slipped down into her shorts again, this time coming around front and resting over her clothed pussy. His fingers explored her like hers had explored him, teasing her in the same way that made her want to burst into flames.
"So wet already, pretty girl..." he mused, sighing and attacking her neck with more kisses. "I bet I'll be able to just slide right in..."
She outwardly moaned this time, clutching a condom in her hand and then slamming the drawer shut. "Alright then, Mr. PhD, why don't you put that theory to the test?"
He loved how eager she was, and a little impatient. Something told him that if he teased her enough, she might have just begged him for anything. But he didn't want to do that right now. No, right now he was planning on showing the love of his life just how much she meant to him. He was going to give her everything he had, and then some.
So he turned her around and kissed her, walking them backwards until his legs hit the foot of the bed. He almost went down, but before he could, he turned them around again. Y/N's body hit the bed, her legs immediately opening for him to stand between them. Rather than leaning down to kiss her again though, Spencer ran his hands tugged lightly at her shorts, to which Y/N gladly lifted her hips and allowed him to pull them off. Her underwear weren't too far behind, and then she lifted her shirt over her head, tossing it aside and leaning back on her elbows.
Seeing her fully bare like this was enough to drive him mad, but he held on, spreading her knees apart and sliding his hands along the insides of her thighs. "Y/N, you're perfect..." As he marveled at her and showered her with love and praise, he slid his hands further and further up her body until they reached her arms.
She helped him remove his pants and underwear, and once they were off, Y/N tore open the condom and handed it to him. He rolled it on and then leaned forward to kiss her on the forehead. Then her temple, then her cheek... Then he pressed the softest kiss to her lips and looked her in the eyes. "You really want to?"
She smiled at him and nodded, bringing one of his hands to her entrance and pressing his fingers to the wetness that pooled there. "You feel how bad I want it?"
He groaned and kissed her then, circling his middle finger over her clit and making her cry out against him. After a few more seconds of this, Spencer positioned them at the head of the bed and angled his hips forward, the head of his dick coming in contact with her pussy.
He slid in slowly, reveling in every pure, blissful second that went by as he gradually became completely enveloped in her. Once he was buried to the hilt, Y/N threw her head back and bit her lip, her hands reaching out to play with his hair again. He ground himself into her for a few seconds before pulling back and then starting a slow, steady rhythm.
"God, Y/N, you feel so good... So... perfect for me."
"Funny, I was just going to say the same thing about you," she breathed. Her eyes trained themselves on his, and though there was a lot of love there, she saw something else that she recognized, something hesitant. It was close to the same look he gave her last night, after she'd explained to him that she was fine after he examined her injury.
He was going easy on her. But she wanted more.
Y/N reached up to tug his hair gently, biting her lip and batting her eyes. "I'm not made of glass you know... You can fuck me harder if you want to."
Everything from the look on her face to the way she said it to the way she clenched around him as she did made him half feral. He smirked at her without thinking, a natural reaction to her challenge. "Oh, you like it a little rough, huh?"
She smirked back at him and nodded, tugging his hair harder. "Uh huh."
Though he started fucking into her harder, his pace remained slow,  accentuating each rough thrust with a huff through his nose. Y/N's mouth opened involuntarily, the power of his movements rendering her almost speechless. Eventually though, she let out one large moan as her fingers even further tightened their grip in Spencer's hair.
Taking note of her reactions, he felt pleased with himself. "You like that, don't you, pretty girl? You like it hard and deep..."
Her hands dropped from his head and rested at the sheets, gripping them instead as he worked his hips a little faster. "Y—yes, baby, I fucking love how hard you fuck me."
The words tumbled out of their mouths so easily, each syllable spoken with the right amount of lust and truth, it was like their conversation was a dance. Their bodies and their words melded together in a perfect number that brought them further towards the climax.
But, as every dance does, their needed a little flourish.
Spencer reached out and caressed her cheek again, his thumb going straight to her lips. Y/N opened her mouth and sucked it in, swirling her tongue around it and groaning at the way he bit his lip when she did so.
"Fuck, pretty girl, you're gonna ruin me if you keep that up."
She smiled at his words, which allowed him to press his thumb flat down onto her tongue. Her mouth remained open as he held it there, her pants and moans coming out clear as day. And as if that wasn't hot enough, she batted her eyelashes up at him, and he fucked her even faster, both of them starting to feel the signs of impending orgasm.
He could have kept his thumb in her mouth forever, but to aid her in pleasure, he removed it, dragging it down her chin before bringing it to her clit and rubbing in tight circles.
"Fuck, Spence, that's it," Y/N moaned, looking down between their bodies and almost losing it at the sight that beheld her. "Don't stop, don't fucking stop!"
He leaned forward to kiss her then, the new angle finally bringing her over the edge. She cried out into his mouth as it explored her own, soaking up all the sounds she made and using them to fuel his own release.
They came together, and it felt  like years of tension and anticipation and love finally culminated into one giant explosion that enveloped them whole. It felt like, for a moment, nothing else in the world existed, only Spencer, Y/N, and their palpable connection that felt very much like a home in and of itself.
Even as they came down, their breathing slowing down and their touches becoming gentler, that explosion quieted right alongside them, an echo of love and warmth lingering in its wake.
Spencer pulled out and laid beside her, reaching out and gently touching the bruise under her eye. "You okay?"
She couldn't help but laugh. "Yes. I'm more than okay... I'm perfect."
He smiled at her, pure, true comfort settling in his bones. It was a rare feeling, but he was glad that it came with her presence. "Me, too. And I... I meant what I said last night, Y/N, I... I love you. More than words could accurately describe."
Her heart swelled at his words. "I love you, too, bud. More than anything in the world."
He contemplated for a minute, a smile forming as he said his next words. "More than pickles?"
Y/N threw her head back in a boisterous laugh that made Spencer's heart beat a little faster, before playfully hitting his harm and snuggling up next to him. "Yes, definitely more than pickles."
"Good. That would have been embarrassing."
"I don't love you more than peppermint hot chocolate, though. Or that cuckoo clock."
Spencer pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Yeah, but I got you those things, so technically that means you have to love me at least as much as them..."
"Okay. That's fair, I'll give you that one."
With an over-exaggerated, "Phew," Spencer smiled and pulled her closer, the warm sunlight from the windows giving him the most clear view of their legs tangled together over her lavender-colored comforter. It was so domestic, so perfect and loving and real that he never wanted to forget it.
He was thankful that he never would.

I like your posts, it's always cool. May i ask a yandere concept between an innocent, protected princess and a prince who obsessed with her from the first time they met, and force against her will. Thanks so much, love your writing :3
Thanks, anon, that means a lot <3 If you haven't noticed, I am oBseSSed with royalty stuff so I rlly enjoyed writing this. It's slightly different tho, but the idea is there.
Title: We all fall down
tw: female reader, non - consensual touching, obsessive behavior, coercion, implied forced marriage, war mention, abuse of power
It was cold when you woke up, terribly so. The room was spacious enough, there was bright sunlight coming from all four windows on each wall and you were sure that your sheets were warm and puffy even without looking down at them, yet it still felt freezing. You soon realized the place wasn’t simply cold, it was different too. It looked nothing like your own room back at the Southern Palace with its countless colourful pictures, books shattered all over the ground and a fireplace just across the queen – sized bed. Before you had a chance to sigh in annoyance, a quick glance to the other side reminded you of the bigger problem. Him.
“Good morning, princess.” The man greeted you cheerfully, his voice still deep and husky from the early hour. He was laying against the wooden doorframe, the sly smirk you had grown to hate over the years once again adorning his red lips. You stared at him for a moment, then rubbed your eyes to chase the fatigue away, fruitlessly so. You were too tired and sleep – deprived to play – pretend, which of course didn’t go unnoticed by the nobleman.
“You don’t look too well, princess.” He teased with a cheeky grin and walked towards the bed, stopping just before his legs hit the edge of the frame. You puffed softly, but remained quiet just so you wouldn’t have to answer him just yet. “And look at your state, darling…” The heir continued, clicking his tongue in a mocking “tsk, tsk, tsk”. “Your nightgown is a mess, I can see all of your beautiful curves.” The heir paused to lick his lips in a disgusting, suggestive way, and you had to repress the need to vomit all over the beautiful yellow sheets. “In our kingdom such appearance counts as an invitation, did you know that?” He added, smiling sharply, like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, satisfied at the way his words made you embarrassed, flustered and jumpy so early in the morning.
“Your Highness, I would like to properly remind you that it was you who forced me to drink and dance all night.” You responded heatedly, all while fixing the straps of your silky dress to at least cover your cleavage. “You wouldn’t let go of my hand for a second. It’s your fault that I look like this.” You remarked, slightly offended by the man’s jokes, despite being used to his terrible humor after all those long years of shared parties and celebrations.
“If that is really so, my lady, please let me make it up to you.” The prince replied in the same smooth, carefree voice of his, the one he used before while talking to the maids and the peasant girls he wanted to bed. It made you sick to think of yourself as just another of his conquests, even though it couldn’t be further from the truth – you couldn’t stand the dark – haired male, his arrogance and absolute ignorance. “Join me for breakfast and I shall have our best cook serve your favorite meal.” The heir announced and winked at you before turning on his heels and finally leaving the room without hearing whether you agreed to his offer or not. You didn’t even have the chance to ask him how he knew what your favorite dish was or why he entered your room without permission, such a lack of manners was unsuited for a soon-to-be king. Perhaps you could use his inconsiderate behavior as an excuse to stay in bed until lunch but deep down you knew it was pointless. The egotistic little bastard knew you had no choice since you two had a lot to discuss.
---
The breakfast, if not anything else, was rich and delicious, each bite tasty and mouth – watering. The sweet aroma of cinnamon tea, vanilla and powdered sugar filled your senses with ease and a little bit of nostalgia for your childhood. The hardest part was yet to come, you wanted to deal with it fast and go home as soon as possible. As for Arthur, it was the first time you saw him serious with his brows arched and his thoughts all over the place. The uneasiness came back with full force.
“I think you know what we want, princess.” The male declared sternly after looking at the map for a while. His eyes were blue and clear, piercing in the way they were focused on you and you alone with no one else in the hall to act as a barrier between you and the monster. You understood why it had to be only you two, but these deals were always an open secret in both kingdoms, so there weren’t many reasons to keep the tradition going. “We want our territory back. We want you to surrender.” The heir hissed eerily under his breath, his pupils fixed on your frame, burning the skin underneath the thick layer of rough fabric.
You didn’t know how to respond to this – the dynasty’s requests had always been ridiculous and far – fetched, but never as impossible as this one. Yes, your land used to belong to the East centuries ago, but after several long, bloody, sacrificial wars where many of your men lost their lives, it was won fair and square. Now all your subjects lived there happily and freely, rightfully so.
“Your Majesty, please don’t dwell on the past. It will never come back.” You responded shortly after, laughing nervously at the end, hoping that would be enough for Arthur to drop the subject. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case.
“Is that so, dearest? You have two weeks then.” The prince said coldly, narrowing his eyes like a fox. You opened your mouth to speak but quickly got cut off. “Prepare your troops, train the soldiers, announce the incoming war to your people.” The man chuckled darkly and threw the map all the way across the room. “You better get ready for a thunderstorm.” He added just to mess with you some more, just to see your face turn white from the shock and the panic.
“You can’t do that!” You shouted out suddenly and stood up from your chair, feeling cornered and suffocated. You hated the prince’s constant teasing and flirty remarks but you would have never guess him to be a cold-blooded conqueror. “This is too cruel even for you!” You screamed, the tears already blooming down your cheeks, hot and wet. Arthur spared you one condescending look before moving closer and trapping your body against the table, towering over you both physically and metaphorically, as if saying “Let’s see who has the stronger mind.”
“I will get what I want no matter the cost and there is little you can do to stop me, princess.” The heir pronounced slowly, tilting your chin up so you had no choice but to meet his hard gaze, full of intense yet unreadable emotion. There was nothing left of the sly cheerful boy standing against your doorframe, teasing you about meaningless little things, and you almost missed him now. “But what you can do is stop the needless violence and bloodshed, Y/N.” You despised the way your eyes lit up at his words, but, as always, your duty was above your comfort and happiness. “What can I do?” You uttered quietly, a part of you too scared to hear the answer, the other anticipating it.
“Marry me.” The prince stated in a deep patronizing voice. His eyes were dark and sharp, just like before, and there wasn’t a trace of his usual gleeful smile. He grabbed your wrists in a painful grip and pulled them up, holding them against his broad shoulders. “We can unite the kingdoms and live our Happily Ever After. No one has to die.” The man whispered surprisingly softly, his chest heaving with each passing breath. “I can make you happy, dearest.”
You gasped in shock as soon as the proposal left his lips. Every fiber in your body was frozen still, your whole being shaken up by the unexpected offer.
“Why do you want to marry me?” You asked frantically, squirming to loosen up his grasp on your hands just to feel it tighten up even more. This was going to bruise for sure. “Isn’t it obvious?” The noble exhaled slowly, staring at you, trying desperately to find the compassion and affection he hoped you had grown to hold for him over the years. His heart broke once he realized there wasn’t any, but it didn’t matter. Feelings could change in a matter of minutes.
“I’ve loved you since day one, my princess.” His attention drifted to your open mouth, especially your soft full lips. Oh, how much he dreamt of taking you and relishing in the whines and moans you would surely let out once he decided to claim you as his own. “All I’ve ever wanted is you.” The heir confessed, his face moving closer and closer to your own, forcing you to arch your back more and more until it hit the table. Before you knew it, he was pinning you to the hard wooden surface, caging you in, kissing you violently, furiously. You couldn’t breathe.
You couldn’t say no.

DAD BTS A⇴Z HEADCANON ⇴  Kim Namjoon
Tumblr media
A ⇴ AFFECTION
Throughout your pregnancy, Namjoon was always incredibly cuddly with you. He wanted to be as close to you and the bump as possible, be there for you whenever you needed to hold his hand or feel his arms wrapped around you.
B ⇴ BUMP
Just as he was with you, he was also very handsy with your bump too. Depending on how you were feeling, he’d either hold on tightly to it, or massage against all the points that were sore. He was very observant to how you were feeling throughout your pregnancy, usually being able to pick up on your mood quite quickly to understand what it was that you wanted from him.
.C ⇴ CRAVINGS
Whatever you were craving, at whatever time, Namjoon would get it for you in a heartbeat. He never judged you for the sometimes random combinations that you were craving, instead he’d get it with a smile, knowing it made you happier too. Although, when he was dieting, he definitely got jealous of some of the foods you were eating every now and then.
D ⇴ DUE DATE
With each date that passed closer to your due date, Namjoon got more and more excited. He couldn’t deny that he’d been counting down the years to when he could become a father, so now he was only counting down the days, he couldn’t quite believe it. You were often having to remind him not to get too excited, as the due date was only a rough guide to when you’d give birth, and not necessarily the day when your baby would arrive.
E ⇴ EXCITEMENT
It wasn’t just with your due date where Namjoon’s excitement often got the better of him, pretty much the whole way through your pregnancy he was excited. There were so many little moments that he’d dreamed of, like the first sign of your bump, and going shopping for your baby that each day felt like a reason to be excited, with it all building up to whenever your little one would decide to make an appearance.
F ⇴ FAMILY
He loved having your families as involved in your pregnancy as possible too, he felt like your baby was the perfect way to bring your families together as they were yet to spend much time with each other. Although you were a little worried that your new-born would lead to some competition between the two families, they ended up bonding greatly, finally getting to know each other properly thanks to your new arrival.
G ⇴ GETTING READY
Almost every pregnancy book available had been read by Namjoon in order to make sure that the two of you were as prepared as possible. The last thing he wanted was for the two of you to forget anything, so plenty of lists were made, with bags being checked several times before he could relax and declare yourselves as prepared.
H ⇴ HEARTBEAT
You could never forget the first time Namjoon heard your baby’s heartbeat, and how quickly his tears fell. It was an overwhelming experience for you both, but the small thuds particularly touched his heart. You knew how long he’d dreamt of the moment, and to finally see it come true was everything that he’d ever wanted.
I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU”
He’d often remind you that he loved you the most whenever you were resting. It was a huge relief to him whenever he spotted you being able to rest your eyes for a few moments, and so in those peaceful moments he’d often whisper to you that he loved you, even if most of the time you were far too gone to pay attention to him.
J ⇴ JEALOUSY
More than anything, he was jealous of you throughout your pregnancy, he hated having to leave you and the bump with his busy schedule so often. He was jealous that your bump was always with you, how you’d never have to miss a kick or a wriggle because you were carrying, whilst he missed out on so many of the moments that he didn’t want to because he was the one having to spend time away from you and your baby.
K ⇴ KICKS
After feeling kicks for some time, Namjoon knows all of the spots that your baby loves to attack, and so he’ll often lay down right over those spots of your bump at night when he wants a sign of life from your baby. The left side, just at the bottom is your child’s favourite spot, and often where Namjoon will end up lying too.
L ⇴ LABOUR
You couldn’t have asked for a more supportive person than Namjoon with you during your labour. Perhaps it was the years he’d spent as a leader, caring for everyone else, but he just seemed to know exactly what to do when you needed him. When you reached the final stages of labour, the tears that fell during that first heartbeat fell again, completely overwhelmed that at last one of his biggest dreams was coming true.
M ⇴ MORNING SICKNESS
Whenever you experienced morning sickness, was another time when Namjoon was very much on the ball. He ended up carrying a hairband around his wrist so that he could run straight to you every morning and tie your hair back. All of his schedules were always pushed back so that he could be there for you during morning sickness, and only when he was sure that you were absolutely fine, would he make the journey into work.
N ⇴ NURSERY
As much as you loved Namjoon, his clumsy self was the last person that you trusted to build a nursery, and so the two of you ended up getting many of your friends and family to help you out in order to make it perfect.
O ⇴ OBSESSION
Namjoon was obsessed with your bump, whenever the two of you were together, there was very rarely a time when he wouldn’t be holding onto it or at least staring at it in complete awe of what was going on.
P ⇴ POST BIRTH
You were barely allowed to move in the first few days after your labour, Namjoon had read up especially on all of the things a husband could do in order to help his wife out. There was no way he was going to risk you hurting yourself after all that you’d gone through, much preferring to take things easy at the start.
Q ⇴ QUESTIONS
Whenever the two of you had appointment, Namjoon always made sure to show up with plenty of questions, he couldn’t help but be inquisitive, and desperate to sometimes triple check that everything really was alright.
R ⇴ RANDOM FACTS
You were aware that he’d bought a few baby items in the past before you even found out that you were pregnant, but you could never imagine just how many items you would end up finding that he kept. Namjoon had a whole box of things that he’d bought over the years, knowing that they’d be used when the time was right.
S ⇴ SCANS
In the back of his phone, Namjoon always made sure to carry your most recent scan photo with him. It was always there for him to look at, especially when he was writing a song and needing inspiration, or just missing being around the two of you because he was busy with work, he always made sure to treasure it.
T ⇴ TEST
The two of you had been planning to fall pregnant for quite some time, and so when you finally got the positive test that the two of you had been waiting for, neither of you could hide your excitement, and relief that it was finally happening for you both.
U ⇴ ULTRASOUND
Namjoon never forgot the time at one of your scans when he was given the chance to move the monitor over your bump and follow the movements of your little one on the screen.
V ⇴ VISITS
For the first few days, Namjoon was very private, he didn’t want too many visitors just in case anyone was watching. However, once you were nearing the end of your recovery, he opened up more to the idea of having people round.
W ⇴ WAITING
His patience varied day by day, if very little happened, he’d be calm, but if something significant happened, he just wouldn’t be able to keep still.
X ⇴ XXXX
When the nights got particularly difficult for you, Namjoon would always be there with a kiss to comfort you and remind you that he was right there supporting you, although there was often little he could do, he’d still make sure to stay right by your side.
Y ⇴ YOU
You were his teammate, together as a team you’d made both of your dreams come true.
Z ⇴ ZZZ
He’d always be at his most attentive at night, especially when you couldn’t sleep. He knew of the many things that would keep you up at night, so he’d do his best to eliminate as many of those as possible to help you sleep.

The entirety of your introduction and exposure to wolves has been at the hands of Jimin and Taehyung, who over the course of your study have arguably become your best friends. It isn't until they drag you to a party held at their packhouse that you meet the rest of their pack, though-- and once you do, thing's already aren't the same as they were before;...
Wolves mate for life, and wolves are almost exclusively monogamous. It's rare for a wolf to have a human mate, and even more unheard of for a wolf to have more than one mate. Unfortunately for you, an incident at this party lands you in the middle of every exception there could possibly be.

Tumblr media
The air is crisp and the plants coloured cool around you, but you're not cold.
You recognise this clearing you're in, but not from the waking world. No, you recognise it because just as it is right now, it has been the set of your dreamscape before. So it's familiar, as you gaze upon it, but at the same time something tingles under your skin in anticipation of the unknown that the shadows hold just beyond the treeline.
It must be early morning, you think to yourself, as you allow your gaze to slip to the sky. It's just fading out of the darkened caress of the night as you look upon it, tinting lighter with each breath you take. You love mornings, you recall with familiarity-- you especially love mornings like this.
There's a slight mist in the air. You don't notice it until you direct you gaze back down to the dewy earth, eyes captured by each patch of wildflowers and blotch of colour. It feels almost magical, really, but for some reason... that isn't the tone of this moment.
You don't know what it is, but something curls in your stomach a little like anticipation. What are you waiting for? You know you've seen this place before, but you can't remember when, or why...
At some point you've taken a seat in the meadow, and while a part of you expects dampness to seep into your skin, you remain safe and dry. It's comfortable. This is the nicest dream you've ever dreamt, a distant part of you surmises. You're just running your hands through the silky blades of grass and watching the dewdrops collect on your skin when a soft snap sounds far to your left.
You probably should be alarmed, but when you look up it's only in curiosity. What you see, again, should be cause for alarm-- but for some reason, the sight of the great, hulking wolf lingering at the edge of the treeline doesn't cause you anything but a flutter in your stomach.
It's not alone, you notice a moment later as something emerges from the shadows beyond it. There are two of them, both massive but one of them a little bigger than the other-- it is leaner and its limbs are longer, though, while the shorter one is thicker in its form, each limb corded with muscle.
For a moment they stare at you, and when you catch the golden hue of their eyes that gleams a little too bright to be natural, you realise they're not normal. Of course, within the walls of this dream you take it in stride.
The way they hover all the way over the other side of the meadow is almost... hesitant. You tilt your head, watching as they stay calmly in place. When you speak it's without even thinking, but you're not bothered by what comes out.
"You can come over here, you know?" you say, offering them a smile. How cool will it be if you can manage to make friends with two wolves! Regardless of their unnatural size and stature, and, now that you think about it, their colouring...
The first to move is the bigger one, its coat a gorgeous mix of sand and caramel, with streaks of white marking around its eyes and ears, as well as fitting around its front paws like boots. You'd noticed that he was a little leaner than the other earlier, but you're realising now as you watch him advance slowly that that doesn't mean he's any weaker. Each stride he takes makes dense muscle shift beneath his skin and fur, and you're slightly in awe of the power contained in his limbs as he moves.
The other wolf is no less magnificent to behold-- its fur is a curious blend of charcoal and ink, speckled with streaks and patches of dark chestnut that gleam rosy in the sunlight. Its eyes are the same unnatural amber as the other wolf's, but the way that they bore into you are oddly akin to that of a puppy.
You don't move when they come close enough that they're within reach, allowing them to move at their own pace. You're not left waiting long, though, before the smaller one trots closer, hesitation forgotten.
"Oh!" You're taken aback when it leans forward suddenly, shoving its massive, inky head against your shoulder with such strength you almost fall back, were it not for the other wolf flopping down behind you and supporting you with its massive form. Ordinarily you'd be worried you're about to be torn to pieces, especially when faced with its massive maw and large teeth, but when it rubs its head against you with a soft whine sounding from the back of its throat, you know it doesn't mean you any harm.
"Oh, you're a cute one," you murmur distractedly, allowing your hands to rise and sink into its fur. It brushes like silk against your skin, and the wolf is so pleased that it simply flops down against you, resting it's head in your lap and pushing it against your stomach.
Something lights up in you, something warm like you've settled close to the glow of a campfire and the heat is sinking into your bones. You're content, so content, and you don't even know why? But oddly enough, in this moment you're not really bothered by that.
Right as you begin to settle back into the warmth and the rhythmic lull of their breathing as they rest against you, something niggles in the back of your brain-- a shard of familiarity, do you know these wolves? How would you know these wolves?
"Who are you?" you find yourself mumbling tiredly, the world around you beginning to shrink back until your brain is only aware of you and the warmth pressed against you.
The wolf in your lap turns its head so that its large eyes are boring into your own. It's still, tail thumping once against the ground, but something stirs in the back of your brain at his gaze. Recognition that filters like sunlight onto little pieces of information in your brain until they merge into something coherent.
It dawns on you with a soft gasp-- you know them, you do. They're--
x - x - x
"Rise and shine, buttercup! I'm sick of having to silence your alarms for you! If you don't get up this time I can and will take photos of your sleeping face! You know, with your mouth all open and drool on your pillow--"
A groan escapes you that you don't quite recognise as a sound you can make, your eyes cracking open to the sight of your roommate's bright, grinning face very close to your own. The first conscious thought to cross your brain is that she does, in fact, look very punchable right now, bending over just so she can hover her face in front of your own with that shit-eating grin.
"Jihyo go away," you slur, sleep still having a very firm grasp on your brain and vocal cords. You slam your face into the pillow, yanking the duvet over your head. Your peace lasts all of 0.03 seconds before your demon of a roommate yanks the cover almost entirely off your bed, revealing your curled form to the cool air and making you whine.
"Why?" you whine, clutching the dinosaur pillow in your hold closer to your chest. "L'me sleep..."
"Nope, nuh-uh," Jihyo moves over to give you a firm smack on the ass, making you yelp and jerk out of your sleepy haze so harshly that you almost fall off the bed. Ow! "I snoozed your alarm for you five times this morning, buttercup. No more! Get up."
"Jihyo," you whine, giving her an accusing look over your shoulder as you rub your stinging behind. "You didn't even hit me where my skin was covered, you cow."
The girl simply shrugs, hands on her hips as she decides that her work here is done and begins to make her way to the door. "That's on you for wearing shorts to bed in autumn, bub. Anyway, you really do have to get up because it's like, what, nine-thirty? And you have a class at ten, so..."
At first you simply blink, her words ringing in your ears but not really sinking in, until they suddenly do and you're leaping from your bed with a yelp.
"Jihyo!"
She cackles, the absolute madwoman, and promptly exits your room. "Better hurry, buttercup!"
At her departure you fly into a panicked rush to get ready, darting around your room and grabbing things at the speed of light. You don't have time to dwell on the contents of the dream you'd been having before you were so rudely awoken, and as you fling yourself around your apartment the remaining slivers you remember of it slip from your brain and out of your grasp until the next time.
x - x - x
Regrettably, all your rushing didn't help you earlier; you still arrived late to class. Your only saving grace is that it was a lecture instead of an actual class, and the professor had been playing a video for the cohort when you arrived and so the lights had been conveniently dimmed for you to slip right in to the back unnoticed.
It actually ended only a few minutes ago, and now you find yourself walking distractedly on the way to your next class, mind lost in all the thoughts you didn't have time to entertain this morning. Fleetingly, the dream flicks through your mind-- what's left in your memory of it, anyway. You can barely conjure any of the details, or even what the two wolves looked like in whole, but the feeling it left behind lingers still in the pit of your abdomen.
You don't understand it. You've been having this dream almost every night for the past week, aside from the nights where you got too little sleep to remember your dreams. Ever since that night when Taehyung and Jimin dragged you to their packhouse, each night has greeted you with the same dream of two wolves in some meadow and you don't know why. Were they that impressionable? Were you so wowed by the sight of the wolves racing that you committed it to your memory subconsciously? Maybe… it’s a possible reason, but it doesn't feel like the reason.
It started as something small, but as the week progressed there was something, a feeling, a sensation, that grew inside you until it stirred restlessly beneath your skin, like now. You're not sure what it is. You feel like you need to be on the move, like there's somewhere you need to be, or you're forgetting something. But you've checked, and you haven't forgotten something, there's nowhere else you're meant to be. So this feeling stirring around your navel... you don't know what to do about it.
Then again, you ponder as you approach the building that holds your next class, perhaps it's just the weird feeling the dreams have been leaving you with that has been making you feel so odd and on edge.
When you enter, your attention is surprisingly not immediately captured by two particular loud men as it usually is the second you step foot in the room. Thanks to their annoyingly sharp senses, the two of them can usually smell you coming before you even reach the door. Admittedly, you're not sure if you're ever going to get used to being told that you have a smell, even if it's not in the usual insulting way. Something you're just going to have to get used to, though, considering you attend a university alongside many supernaturals, two of which are some of your closest friends.
Despite the fact that you weren't accosted upon entry this time, unlike how you usually are, the two boys you begrudgingly call friends are here, seated towards the back of the room. You wonder what stopped them from performing their usual ritual of behaviour as you approach them, but the answer comes to you when you see the light frowns on their faces and the slight bags under their eyes.
"Woah," you remark, taking a seat at the rounded table next to Jimin-- they start slightly at your appearance, ringing some alarm bells in the back of your mind. "You two look like shit. Are you okay?"
Taehyung makes a face, and Jimin gives you a smile that comes out more like a wince.
"We're fine," he says, reaching up to scrub his face with a hand. "Just... a little tired."
You tilt you head, wondering if they're going to tell you why of their own accord or if you're going to have to dig and drag it out of them. Taehyung must recognise the look on your face, because he's letting out a little huff of a laugh and enlightening you in the next moment.
"It's just... some of the members of our pack," he says, yawning. Your mouth falls open in realisation; ah, so it's a wolf thing. You're even more curious now, though. You love learning more about the creatures that walk among the population— plus, they're your friends so you feel like you should learn as much as you can about them.
"Are they causing trouble?" you ask, remembering the events of the other night with an odd shiver that isn't quite anything you can name.
Both males let out a laugh, quietening only as the tutor enters the room and lets out a greeting. Today's class isn't too interactive though, and for the majority of it you're left to your own devices to complete work at your own pace. As soon as the tutor is done telling you all the agenda, Jimin is speaking quietly from next to you.
"It's not that they're causing trouble," he says, tone soft and airy. You like his voice a lot, Taehyung's too— actually, from what you can remember, every single member of the pack had a nice voice. Is it a werewolf requirement or something? Jimin's dark eyes flit from the teacher to you, mouth twisting as though he's trying to figure out how to word what he wants to say next. "It's just that..."
"You know a little bit about wolves, and the hierarchy that runs in packs, right?" Taehyung continues in Jimin's place, blinking at you. You nod, holding your hand up to gesture that your knowledge is so-so at best. "Well, within a pack there are the usual ones you've probably heard-- the alpha, the betas, omegas."
"Ah, yeah, I've heard about that," you say, unable to help the way you lean forward in interest. Taehyung smiles wryly.
"Well, there's a little more to it than that. In our pack, Jiminie and I are deltas," he hums gaze flicking upwards as he ponders how to proceed. "So our role, when we fall back into our dynamics, is largely watching territory, but it also includes taking care of ill and wounded members of the pack."
"Two of the members are sick," Jimin says, turning to you a split second later. "The two that bowled you over, actually."
"Oh," you say, recalling the handsome faces of the two wolves that had inadvertently caused your drink to end up on you and you on the ground that night. "So, they're sick and you've been looking after them? So you're tired? They should be okay though, right? I mean, you're wolves. You bounce back quickly."
The two males share a look before turning back to you, voices still hushed so that you don't draw your tutor over to where the three of you are, most definitely not doing the work assigned.
"That's just the thing, though," Jimin says, a troubled expression crossing his features. "We're wolves, we don't really get sick. The only kind of sickness that gets us is a flu that has mutated from another supernatural creature, but even so... they should have been better by now."
"It's like they just keep slowly getting worse," Taehyung says, frowning. "Jiminie and I are running ourselves into the ground trying to keep up and monitor them. We just can't figure out what's wrong to get on top of it."
"Oh," you say, an unknown feeling welling up inside you. It's something like longing, with a certain twist of urgency. You don't know what drives you to say what you did next. "Well, uh... is there anything I can do to help? You guys look exhausted."
"You wouldn't mind?" Jimin asks, sounding surprised. "Even after the other night? I know it must have been scary."
"Well, I mean, a little bit," you admit, scratching the back of your neck. "But it was also cool as hell. Your wolf forms are so awesome, I kind of wish I got to see it sooner."
"You haven't even seen ours!" Taehyung says, a little louder than intended. When the three of you look up to catch the tutor giving you the stink-eye, you bow your heads and remain silent for a while to get him off your backs.
"For real though," Jimin says a while later, hand still scribbling answers to the activity even as he talks softly. "If you're serious about wanting to help, we'd really appreciate it. The others are all caught up with either schoolwork or other obligations so it's been a little exhausting."
"I don't mind," you say, offering the two a brief smile before going back to pretending to work. "I'm happy to help. Plus... I feel a little bad that I didn't get introduced to them properly, you know?"
Taehyung snorts softly, grinning down at the table. "Yeah, that's true. Thanks, y/n."
You offer him another smile, hoping that they can't sense the way your gut flutters and churns with an unnamed feeling. "Of course."
x - x - x
When you offered to give Taehyung and Jimin a hand with looking after their sick packmates, you were expecting to be making soup or something for them to take over. You weren’t, as it happens, expecting for the two of them to rock up at 6PM while you’re in the middle of a belated cardio workout (which was only happening because you have schoolwork that you were procrastinating at the time) to grab you and drag you back over to their pack dorm to actually, physically help out.
“Why is it every time I come here, I’m always being dragged?” you question, hints of a whine to your voice. They hadn’t even let you change! You’re still in your workout gear, which, granted, consists of just a singlet and tight, ankle-length exercise pants, and isn’t that risqué—but still! The weather is getting colder these days and so are you, right now! If it weren’t for the absolute furnace that is their body temperature and the heat of their hands on your arms, you think you’d be shivering.
“You’ve only been here twice, and this is the second time,” Jimin says dismissively, hand gripping your arm as he leads you up the stairs to their front door. You have a funny feeling in your gut that you can’t quite pin, similar to the last time you were here, but now you don’t even have time to dwell on it before you’re thrown into the pack dorm once more.
It’s much tidier than it was last time.
You’re taken aback by how clean and, well…spacious it is, now that there’s not drunk adolescent bodies crammed everywhere. It’s a very modern layout, as you noticed last time, and tastefully decorated. From what Jimin and Taehyung told you, most of the bedrooms are upstairs and the lowest floor contains most amenities like the kitchen, gym room, etcetera…
The door closes with a resounding thud behind you, and there is a call from beyond the hallway, where you recall the kitchen to be. You don’t think you recognise the voice, though.
“Tae, Jiminie, you’re back!” There is a pause, and something that sounds suspiciously like a sniff. Suddenly, you’re mortified to be the only human here again. “…Who do you have with you?”
Before you’re anywhere near composed enough to be meeting another member of their pack, the two devious bastards are pushing you forwards and around the corner, into the kitchen once more. You have a very sudden, terrible flashback to the last time you were in this kitchen and on instinct you’re scanning the room for a familiar raven-haired male.
To your relief, Yoongi isn’t anywhere to be seen—there is someone at the kitchen counter though, someone that you don’t recognise at all. You freeze, offering a sheepish grin as the two wolves you somehow call your friends hold you in place. Like you could even attempt to get away anyway.
The new figure is taller than Jimin, but not taller than Taehyung. His hair is dark, cherry red, but you can spy some regrowth coming through at the roots, and before you even see the rest of his face you can tell from his eyes and the creases at their ends that this man smiles a lot. You’re proven right when he easily returns the smile you’d flashed him earlier, shooting it at you like a sunbeam. It almost, honest to god, disorients you where you stand.
“Hey Hobi,” Taehyung greets, grinning brightly. “This is y/n, we brought her around at the last party but you were, ah… previously occupied.”
The man before you has the decency to flush slightly, a sheepish grin tugging his lips. You’ve never seen a heart-shaped smile before now, but you’re glad this attractive man was the first one to show you the light.
“Ah… right.” He chuckles, before placing the bowl in his arms onto the counter and offering you a hand. “Sorry to have missed introductions, especially when Tae and Jiminie talk so much about you! I’m Hoseok, but you can call me Hobi, or Hope if you’d like.”
Hope. It clicks together in your head and your own face flushes as you recall last time when they said he, Hope, was off practicing the karma sutra with someone. Mortified that you recalled that tidbit now of all times, you push it from your brain and try to focus on the other things he said.
“It’s nice to meet you,” you say, shaking his hand. You can’t help the way you grumble after though, giving Jimin and Taehyung a glare. “And I hope they haven’t talked too much. Every time I’ve heard them tell one of you about me, it’s always something humiliating.”
“Oh, like being caught watching Ouran Host Club in your lecture?” Hoseok asks, head tilting slightly as he picks the bowl back up. You wince instinctively, and he laughs. It doesn’t get any less humiliating every time you hear it.
“Yup,” you say, feeling very much like you wished you hadn’t agreed to help at all. “Something like that.”
He smiles, but thankfully doesn’t tease you further. Instead, he turns his attention to the two boys beside you.
“What did you bring her for?” he asks, curiosity the only thing you can identify in his tone. Jimin wastes no time in sealing your fate.
“She offered to help when we told her Kookie and Jin were sick!” he says, smacking your shoulder like a proud parent. It was almost a little too hard, and you cough slightly from the impact. Taehyung rubs a soothing hand over the place of impact, giving his brother a look. “So we brought her over, since the others can’t stay and you’re the only one that can run classes at the studio right now.”
Hoseok’s mouth forms an ‘o’, dark eyes flicking to you in surprise. “Oh, that’s very kind of you,” he remarks, flashing you another billion-watt smile. “Thank you, for that. We’re not usually this hopeless at caring for ourselves but one of the ones that’s sick is the one that usually cares for us so… we’ve kind of been running around like headless chickens, heh.”
You shrug, finally feeling a little more settled and a little less like you’d like to flee at the first available opportunity. You’re still very keenly aware of the fact that this is only the second—and first, in Hoseok’s case—time meeting these people, and it’s therefore a little awkward for you. But, to their credit, the way they’re just taking it in stride is really helping you feel less out of place.
Even though technically you hadn’t even planned on coming anywhere near here….
“It’s no problem,” you say, unsure how else to receive his words. He’s still smiling, though, so you’re guessing that he wouldn’t have been too bothered however you answered.
“How are they?” Taehyung asks, soft baritone brushing the air. There’s palpable concern in his voice, and when you glance his way his expression confirms it.
“Well,” Hoseok says, placing the bowl down on the counter again, except with a little more oomph this time. You’re beginning to grow curious as to what exactly is in there. “They’re not any better, but they’re not exactly any worse, either, so… I’m not sure how to answer. Although—”
He smacks his hand onto the counter, a wooden clatter following from the spoon in his grasp, and your eyes widen at the light gashes on the back of his hand. They’re open but not bleeding, as though they’re in the midst of healing, but they look like they were deep at some point. “—Jin has been getting a bit of an attitude, so it’s probably for the best that you brought her. The two of you are going to have to deal with him; she can deal with Kookie, if she needs to. He’s just been sulky.”
“Jin got an attitude?!” Jimin sounds incredulous, and you figure that whichever one is Jin mustn’t normally kick up much of a fuss if he’s reacting like that to the information. “What, why? Did one of you step on his paw again?”
For a moment, you think it’s just a figure of speech, like a wolf thing, but then Hoseok huffs and grumbles, rolling his eyes. “No! That was only once! No one went near his stupid paws this time. He’s been shifted ever since he started feeling sick but he’s only just started getting snappy. He’s a little testy right now… it’s why I was down here, making him stupid treats because he can’t eat human desserts in this form.”
Wait, so both of them… are wolves right now? You’re suddenly a little nervous, but do your best not to show it—somehow, despite the fact their senses are so much more advanced than yours and usually you’d be instantly found out, they’re a little too distracted with the issue currently on their hands to notice.
As though he can hear the slander being thrown around on the floors below him, there is a sudden long, muffled howl that pierces the air—the sound is weaker than you’d expect but still startles you, making you jump. As it ends, it’s followed by a thump and a series of thunks and rattles, like something had been knocked off a shelf. Hoseok rolls his eyes, and you put the pieces together and realise that must have been the wolf in question.
Jimin is wincing, reaching to take the bowl and spoon into his hands. “Uh, okay—we’ll keep an eye on him, and I’ll finish making his, uh… his scooby snacks. You can get going, I know you have a class ready to start in, like, ten minutes.”
Hoseok shoots his packmate a thankful look, more being said with his eyes than you’re privy to as a complete stranger. Now he’s relieved of his duties for the night,
“Thank you,” he says, passing Jimin the whisk that lay discarded at the other end of the bench. You then watch as he moves around the counter to grab what you quickly realise is a gym bag from its perch on the table. You half expect him to wave and then be on his way, but he halts partway towards the door, something on the tip of his tongue.
“If they don’t get better…” he trails off, brows furrowed. It’s in this moment that it really sinks in for you that their packmates must be quite sick for them to be so concerned, and you feel bad that you regretted being dragged here earlier. Jimin and Taehyung are your friends and they need help caring for their pack, their family. You feel crummy for opposing it even a little bit.
Hoseok shakes his head, brows furrowing further. “No, even if they do start to get better—I think we should call the Head Healer. This isn’t normal, and whether its some supernatural flu or something else I think they should know. I’ll tell Yoongi to call his dad, but be prepared to tell him in case he forgets.”
The two males beside you nod, Jimin’s orange locks bouncing from the fervour with which he did so.
“Will do,” Taehyung affirms, nodding towards the redhead. “We’ll take care of them in the meantime.”
Hoseok nods, expression lightening for a fraction of a second. His gaze is soon flitting back to you, a smile that makes your heart skip a beat on his lips. “It was a pleasure to meet you, despite the circumstances,” he declares politely, even if the gleam in his eye is anything but. It takes all of your willpower to keep a straight face. “I’d love to get to know you a little more sometime—”
“YAH get out of here you slimy—” Jimin is huffing suddenly, red-faced and outraged, waving his arms before darting forward to chase his packmate out. “Don’t speak to her like that! She’s off-limits! Do not put your dirty whore hands anywhere near—”
The two of them disappear around the corner, but the sound of Hoseok’s cackling and Jimin’s indignant yells reach you loud and clear anyway. As Jimin sees his packmate off at the door, Taehyung picks up the bowl and resumes where Hoseok left off, and you’re left wondering just how this night is going to go with two massive wolves upstairs needing to be cared for.

“Okay, so… here’s the plan.”
You listen attentively, fidgeting on the spot and wishing not for the first time that these two idiots had let you change before dragging you here to help out. The sweat has made your head itchy, and you’re trying so hard not to scratch it that you feel your hands trembling. Thankfully, the two wolves beside you remain none the wiser to your inner turmoil and the occasional stink-eye you throw their way.
“Me and Jiminie are gonna go deal with Jin-hyung,” Taehyung says, pausing as a loud thump echoes from the floor above. The three of you are standing at the foot of the stairs, and had been about to go up before the taller man halted you all to make a game-plan. “It… seems like it’s gonna be a two person job. I don’t know what his problem is…?”
He looks to the side to Jimin as he trails off, but his friend merely shrugs, no closer to knowing the source of his packmate’s behaviour than he is. Taehyung huffs, turning to you. “And you can handle Kookie. Just take his food up for him, apparently he’s just been sulky and he’s not aggressive in wolf or human form so you shouldn’t have anything to be worried about.”
You nod as he hands you a bowl of cooked and seasoned meat that makes even your mouth water from the aroma wafting with steam into the air. “Great. That really comforts me, thank you.”
Taehyung grins and Jimin rolls his eyes. “If he allows it, could you check his temperature when you go up there? I know we usually run hot, but we’ve noticed that with whatever sickness this is their temperatures fluctuate a lot. It’ll be really helpful if you can just tell us whether he’s warm or cold.”
You nod again, Jimin appearing satisfied with his instruction. Taehyung throws his hand in the air, almost dislodging the bowl in his hold as he does so. “Alright! Autobots, roll out!”
You simply turn to go up the stairs first, already hearing Jimin deliver his packmate with a firm whack for being an idiot. You reach the top of the stairs and pause, eyes sweeping across the hallway and the abundance of closed doors with little or no distinguishing characteristics. Well, shit.
“Last door on the right, y/n!”
Perfect. Off you go.
As you approach the end of the hallway, another door opposite the one you’re heading towards, the feeling that has been sitting dormant in your abdomen suddenly stirs to life. The tugging around your navel is more persistent than ever, leaving you confused and a little disoriented as you finally reach the last door on the right. To your surprise, there is a shuffling sound from the door opposite, on the left side of the hall, and a low, baleful whine that reaches you through the wood and makes your heart drop and clench. You don’t think you’ve ever reacted so strongly to, well, anything before.
Shaking your head and hearing the other two follow behind you in the hall, you grasp the doorknob of the door you’ve been directed to and ease it open, slipping inside as quietly as possible before closing it behind you. Taking a deep breath to calm yourself and attempt to smother the quickened pace of your heart before it’s beating gets too loud, you slowly look up from the door handle and survey the rest of the room.
It’s chic, a stylish combination of white and various cool greys across the room. The window is open but the dark curtains drawn, the breeze ruffling them ever so slightly and making you shiver as it reaches you from across the room. It’s nice, you admit to yourself, momentarily forgetting why you’re there. You’re quickly reminded once more, however, at the sight of the massive furry lump sprawled across the queen-sized bed. The main overhead light isn’t on, but the bedside lamps are and it’s enough to illuminate the wolf left in your care for the time being. There’s something about him that tickles familiarity in the back of your mind as you survey his form; his coat is a sleek mixture of ink and charcoal, fur illuminated dark chestnut where it falls beneath the light. You can’t quite put your finger on why you feel something stir inside you at the sight of him, this massive wolf sprawled across the bed, and for the time being you decide to give up on attempting to understand it.
Adjusting your hold on the bowl in your hands, you move closer to the bed, unable to help the way you keep admiring this wolf’s majestic form even as he faces away from you. You know this one is the member called Jungkook, but you can’t quite put a human face to the name to recall which wolf it was that bowled you over a week ago.
Initially, you thought that he might have been asleep, but as you grow closer to the bed you hear the softest whimper enter the air, followed by a thin whine. You freeze, looking up just in time to see a large, heavy-lidded, amber eye watching you move. Distantly, you realise that this is the sort of sight that should be making you freeze in fear. Instead, the only thing you feel is something odd and foreign, curling warmly in the pit of your abdomen. You’re not sure what to do with it, and to be honest it gives you pause.
“Uh, hey,” you say softly, feeling a little awkward. The wolf gives a huff, blinking his large eye somewhat owlishly—while he didn’t seem to really see you earlier, he appears to be registering your appearance now. “We’ve met before… I’m Taehyung and Jimin’s friend. They said that you guys were sick so I offered to help out…”
The wolf shuffles in place, looking a little more alert. Thankfully, as Taehyung had promised, he doesn’t seem aggressive or anything like that. Actually, he seems about the opposite—as he rises to a slightly more elevated position on the bed, now facing you, he lets out another long, low whine. It makes your insides clench with something like sympathy. You place the bowl where he can reach it and immediately the wolf starts devouring his meal.
There is a sudden yowl that pierces through the walls and makes you jump, but the wolf before you couldn’t be more unbothered. In the blink of an eye the bowl is emptied and licked clean, the wolf’s massive head lifting to pin you with a look that seems to say ‘what next?’. You move the bowl so it isn’t tipped, placing it on the bedside table next to a black Nintendo Switch console there. Before you can flounder too much, you recall Jimin’s instructions from earlier.
“Oh, I need to check your temperature, as well…” you inform him, still speaking softly. There is a bit of a commotion from beyond the bedroom door and you think you hear Taehyung holler something stupid, but can’t be sure. You decide to ignore it.
Tentatively, you reach your hand up, simply going for the wolf’s forehead or the closest thing to it. To your surprise, despite the minute nod that the wolf had offered you just before, now he seems to be moving his head just out of reach every time you come close. There’s a peculiar gleam in his big puppy eyes that you can’t quite decipher, almost something sly as you continue attempting to place the back of your hand against his head. His relentless shifting ends up with you leaning over the bed to reach him, and you realise a little too late just how unstable you are. Finally, he allows you to place your hand against his head, but it lasts for barely a second before the bed is shifting suddenly and then you’re falling onto the mattress with an ‘oof!’.
The wolf huffs, a massive arm laying over your hips and his head flopped down on your chest just below your breasts. You can feel your face heat in a combination of embarrassment, confusion, and fluster. For a moment, you’re too stunned to even move.
“What are you—” you can’t even finish a full sentence, you’re so flustered. “I only need to take your temperature! Let me up, please—”
You attempt to move, or even prop yourself on your elbows, and the wolf whimpers, pitifully, more of his weight bearing down on you. You pause before trying again and receiving the same reaction, this time with a mournful whine tacked onto the end.
“You’re a big baby,” you find yourself saying, tone much closer to exasperated scolding than you might have expected. “Are you really not gonna let me up?”
In response, you receive a huff and an adjustment of the wolf’s hold on you that makes it even more difficult for you to get up from the bed, his massive paw pressing into the mattress on the other side of you. When you let out a heavy sigh, he whimpers and butts his head against you, the action oddly affectionate.
“I can’t believe this,” you mutter, staring at the ceiling and wondering what on earth has just happened in the past few minutes. Since you can do nothing else, you take the opportunity to finally touch his forehead and take his temperature. He’s a little cool, but oddly doesn’t stay that way; it’s like you can feel him warming beneath your hand.
Really, you’re pretty much trapped right now. You’re not as scared as one might think you would be, and you don’t really know what you’re feeling in response to the situation. You do know that something flips and flutters inside you every time you move and you hear him whimper, or whine and snuggle closer. This wolf is almost the size of a bear and is snuggling all over you like a teacup puppy.
You’re not sure how long you lay in spot before your two idiot friends finally realise you’ve been gone a little too long for the menial tasks you were given and come knocking. The creak of the door easing open makes you jump slightly in surprise and the hackles on the wolf to raise ever so slightly.
“y/n, what is taking you so l—oh. Oh my gosh.”
Your head whips in the direction of the door, and a pleading look is already on your face before you can even think to muster it. Taehyung and Jimin stand stock still in the doorway, faces portraying an almost comical amount of shock. Jimin squints, rubbing his eyes as though he’s making sure he’s really seeing what he’s seeing. “Uh… what happened here?”
“He won’t let me up,” you grumble, face on fire. This is humiliating. The wolf huffs, like he’s talking back to you, and both Taehyung and Jimin’s eyebrows shoot up. “He’s sneaky. I just tried to take his temperature and….”
“Oh, right,” Jimin says, blinking rapidly. “How is it?”
“A little cold, but each time I check he gets warmer,” you inform him, the distant hilarity of the situation not lost on you as you calmly discuss the health and wellbeing of the wolf that currently has you pinned to his bed as a makeshift teddy bear. Jimin goes to take a step forward and a soft growl halts him mid-movement, the sound something you can feel rumbling from deep within the wolf’s chest.
“Jungkookie,” he scolds, gasping in affront. “Don’t be nasty.”
“Oh my god,” Taehyung mumbles to himself, something cheeky and mischievous that spells absolute trouble glimmering in his eyes. “This is fantastic—just wait until you’re human again, Koo. You’re not gonna live this down.”
Unimpressed, you send them a glare—some of your limbs are starting to fall asleep, maybe they could try and help you get out? Catching the look you send them, the two men share their own, and you can safely say you don’t quite like the tone of it.
They better not leave you here.
x – x – x
The next day finds you sprawled on your bed, feeling dead to the world.
True to their historically goblin nature, your two best friends had indeed left you there.
You’d found out later that it was because they knew they’d only be able to slip you out from under the wolf when he fell asleep (because apparently once he’s out, he sleeps like the dead, no matter the form). But until such a time as they actually came and retrieved you from beneath their sick, clingy packmate, you were incredibly annoyed with them. It had taken about an hour or so for the wolf, Jungkook, to fall asleep—about halfway through that you’d subconsciously keyed into the same plan as them and had begun carding your hands through his fur in an attempt to lull him to sleep faster. It had worked, and you don’t want to think about how dead your limbs would be if the wolf had taken any longer to fall asleep.
In all, the ordeal was incredibly embarrassing and your only saving grace is that Taehyung and Jimin were too busy planning how to tease their youngest packmate to tease you. Which is lucky because, wolf or not, if they’d teased you then you might have killed them.
You didn’t get back until around midnight, since you’d stayed a bit longer to help Taehyung and Jimin cook and prepare some stuff in case the two wolves woke up worse. As soon as your head hat hit the pillow, you’d knocked right out. Shamefully, you slept so deep and long that you missed your alarm for your morning class and woke up closer to lunch, which is where you are now.
Laying in bed with aching eyes and wishing that you didn’t have another class in another two hours.
Jihyo hadn’t even questioned where you went for so long last night, but also hadn’t made a joke about you finally getting some so you figure she’s waiting to pounce on you later. You find she’s already left for the day, when you finally wrangle yourself from bed and attempt to resume life as a functioning human being. So you’re safe until at least this afternoon, when she finishes her shift at the university second-hand bookstore. You can probably remain safe for longer if you study at the library and come home when she goes to her pilates class.
You’re shamefully good at evading her, at this point. You’d feel bad if it wasn’t a skill you’d learnt for survival.
You took your time a little too much while getting ready for your class, and it made you run so late that for the time being even you completely forgot about the events of last night. Well, you did until you enter your classroom and are greeted by two loud hollers of your name. Honestly, do they have no shame? Do attractive people even feel shame?
“Shut up,” you grumble half-heartedly as you take your seat between them, resisting the urge to rub your eyes since you’d put on mascara earlier. One of many things that had almost made you late. “You’re so loud.”
You complain, but secretly you’re glad for the noise—it means they’re feeling better, and things must also be improving at the pack dorm. When you finally raise your eyes to survey their faces, you find them displaying an odd mix of emotions. Like they’re glad, relieved, but at the same time still concerned about something.
“So… how are things at the dorm?” you inquire tentatively, making the most of the time you have before your tutor arrives and begins the class; it seems you aren’t the only one running behind today.
Taehyung lets out a huff, resting his cheek in his hand with a wry smile. “Well, Jungkookie is much better. You must have a magic touch because he was up and back into his human form this morning. He wanted to go to his classes but Namjoon made him stay back because he’s still not completely better.”
“On the other hand,” Jimin continues, without the need of prompting. “Seokjin… well, it’s almost like he’s the same as before, slowly getting worse. We can’t figure out what is wrong with him and why his condition isn’t turning around like Jungkook’s is.”
Ah, now you understand their expressions. They look about as confused as you feel, too. It doesn’t leave you with a very good feeling, if they’re the experts in this area and even they’re stumped for an explanation.
“We got Yoongi to call his dad, though. I heard them on the phone before we left so I suppose we’ll hear what he recommends when we get back.”
You hum to acknowledge what he said, opening your mouth to respond but deciding against it when you see the tutor hurtle into the room, out of breath and frantic.
“Sorry I’m late, everyone! If you could please all open your books to this week’s chapter, I will begin with the slides in just a moment!”
x – x – x
Considering that what you’d heard from your two wolf friends was that one of their packmates was on the mend and the other less so, you hadn’t really expected to hear anything else from them. That proves to be the exact opposite of what happens, though.
At quarter to three in the morning, you’re woken to sharp, persistent banging on your front door—the kind that makes you scared that the door is actually going to break beneath the force of the blows raining down on it. You tear out of your bed and stumble down the hall to answer it, knowing that if Jihyo has to get up to do it she’s going to tear you a new asshole.
“WHAT?!” You snap, not even seeing properly through the bleariness in your eyes but knowing in your heart there’s only two people ballsy enough to come bust your door down at this hour in the morning. “Are you trying to get me killed?! Jihyo still hasn’t forgotten about the last time you came over and ruined her sleep!”
Jimin has the decency to look somewhat sheepish, but Taehyung simply looks distressed. “Look, I’m not gonna say I’m sorry because I’m not, but we really need you to come with us right now.”
You blink, reaching to rub your eyes and feeling a strand of your hair flop into your face in response. You just know it looks like something made at the hands of Jackson Pollock right now. “What? The hell? Do you mean?”
It’s Jimin’s airy tone that reaches you this time, lowering your hackles ever so slightly. “No, he’s lying, we are sorry, it’s just—it’s an emergency. Something happened and we need your help to test a… a theory, if you will.”
You stare at him, willing his words to make sense in your sleepy brain. “I don’t understand.”
“That’s fine,” Taehyung says; and then in the next second he reaches and grabs you around the waist, slinging you over his shoulder. “We just need you to come. Can you lock up so she doesn’t kill us, Jiminie?”
You’re too stunned to even say anything as you hear Jimin lock your front door behind you, Taehyung already beginning to move post-haste down the apartment building hallway with you over his shoulder. When you finally catch-up to the events of the current moment, you instantly curse the blonde man out. “Hey, what the fuck—I can walk! Put me down! Put me down or I’ll go straight back home!”
“No way,” Taehyung argues, already exiting the building with you in tow. “You’re just gonna go back no matter what, if I put you down. I saw that look in your eyes, the one you get when you’re about to slam the door in our faces. We really need you to come, y/n.”
You blink, trying to remember if you planned on closing the door in their faces. It was only a few moments ago, but you’re still half-asleep and can’t remember for the life of you. A part of you wishes to speak up and deny his words, but for however outraged you are right now you’re still attuned to the words he’s saying and the vocal cues that accompany his speech. It gives you pause, because he seems really, genuinely distressed right now.
“What happened? What’s going on?”
Jimin has since caught up to the two of you and is opening the car door, preparing the back seat for your entry—you haven’t seen this one before, so you presume it must belong to one of the older pack members. “It’s Jin-hyung and Kookie.”
“What?” Confusion combines with sleepiness to make you sound like the stupidest person on earth. “I thought they were getting better? Or at least Jungkook was—”
“We thought so too,” Taehyung says, finally putting you down and patting your head in a makeshift apology. You decide that killing him can wait for later.
“And then… tonight happened.”
As the two of them climb hurriedly into the car and buckle up to send you all on your way to the pack dorm, they fill you in on the events of the evening. While Jungkook had shown a marked improvement over the day, it was like a switch had flipped as soon as night fell and the moon emerged from below the horizon. He relapsed to a worse state than he was in last night, and Seokjin’s condition apparently worsened as well. Alarmed and not having a single idea what to do, they’d called in Yoongi’s father who had spent a large majority of the night attempting to diagnose them and prevent their condition from worsening. Only around half an hour ago had he put together a theory as to what was wrong with them, after all the pack members filled him in on everything they could.
“Wait so—Yoongi’s dad? The healer…?” you wait for their nods of confirmation before continuing. “He thinks it has something to do with me? Wait, if that’s the case should you even be bringing me back?! What if I make them worse again! God, I knew I shouldn’t have rocked up to the party last week…”
“No, well—I mean—” Jimin flounders for what to say, cutting himself off when he comes close to saying something and giving you the sense that there is another element to this that they’re not telling you. You have half a mind to demand to know, but you also recognise it could also be a wolf thing that you have no business knowing. “Don’t worry, if the head healer of our pack is calling you back, it’s not because he thinks you’re the thing making them sick.”
That does ease you, admittedly. Just a bit. You yawn, catching movement outside your window and realising with a startle that you’re already at the pack dorm. Instantly, for reasons barely known to you, your stomach erupts into a live bundle of nerves. You’re so baffled by it that you don’t even notice as the car pulls to a stop and your door is being opened in the next second by a perplexed Jimin.
“Are you alright?”
You give him a stinky look to save face as you climb out of the car, pretending your legs aren’t wobbly. “You’re asking that now?”
At the attitude in your voice the expression of concern slips right off his face and he snorts, looping his arm through yours and dragging you up the path to the pack dorm for the third time in a week. “Oh good, you’re alright. Hurry up now, I can hear them howling like pups from here.”
You go to bite back with a response but pause, because the second you tune into your ears you can hear it too. It’s mournful, the way the howls pierce the air. Baleful, especially when paired with the scenery of the almost-full moon hanging above the trees. Again, you’re not scared, just oddly… nervous. As in, full of nerves. It’s as though there are a thousand bees buzzing in your abdomen, and the network of nerves and synapses in your body have turned to live wires beneath your skin, thrumming and prickling with energy.
What does your subconscious seem to know that you don’t?
The howls are amplified the second you enter the house and there is no longer several inches of thick wall muffling their piercing resonance. They seem to be upstairs once more, on the side of the house that you didn’t venture into last time. Now that you’re close enough, you can distinguish that it’s not only pitiful howls breaking the air, but soft whimpers and whines, as well. Something about it, the quality of the sounds brushing your ears, makes your eyes prick with tears. It’s almost like…. Grieving. Like they’re calling out for something or someone that isn’t coming.
“Wow, they’re somehow even louder than when we left,” Jimin remarks, already dragging you towards the stairs and beginning on the climb up. “For wolves that are so sick they sure do still have a pair of lungs on them.”
You’re too busy remembering the fact that you’re currently dressed in the same shorts and singlet combo you’ve been in all week, and that you’re in a house full of men (and wolves, but you digress) to offer a response. Your arrival at the top of the stairs brings you to the sight of a number of men at the end of the hall, gathered together and muttering amongst themselves. You recognise all but one, and figure that the unfamiliar older gentleman must be Yoongi’s father as you’d heard of him.
“We brought her,” Jimin announces, though you doubt it was very necessary since they could probably smell you coming from the driveway. “Are they doing any better?”
Yoongi leans around Namjoon to deliver the younger with a deadpan look. “Listen for yourself.”
Right on cue, there is another round of pitiful howling, the noise tugging at something deep inside you. Why did it make you want to go to them? Are your instincts broken? That seems like a crazy reaction to have. Perhaps you should go get yourself checked out after this ordeal, though you’re unsure which professional you should be seeking out.
Jimin winces. “Alright. So they’re not doing much better at all.”
The new character, Yoongi’s dad, steps forward and reaches out to shake your hand. “Hello, you must be y/n. I’m Yunho, the Head Healer of this pack. I’m so sorry to have brought you out here at such a late hour.”
Now that everyone’s attention is on you, and Yunho looks so genuinely apologetic (you see the relation to Yoongi in the kind set of his features) you find your earlier anger at being awoken and dragged here fizzling out for good. Somewhat meekly, you manage to respond, “It’s fine. If I can help then I don’t mind at all.”
The older man smiles at your words, appreciation in his tone as he thanks you. “We’re really grateful, for that. Now, if you don’t mind, all I want you to do is just… go into the room with them.”
You blink, Taehyung and Jimin already having begun guiding (read: dragging) you to the room in question. “Pardon?”
Yunho seems slightly amused and sheepish. “I… have a theory, as to what is wrong with these two. I will inform you of everything after we test it out, but would you be able to go in, for now? Please?”
You’re not exactly in a position to refuse, not that you really want to anyway. As silly as it is, if going into the room where the wolves are is something that will somehow actually help them, then you’ll do it. Especially because you don’t think you can handle much more of their baleful howling—they seem miserable.
“Yeah, okay. Of course.” You shake your limbs out, shrugging your arms out of your friends’ grips and shooting them a glare for manhandling your again. They have the decency to appear slighty apologetic.
The entire pack in the hallway parts to let you through, like a sea of wolves. The room they direct you to is the one opposite of the one you went into last night, the one where the rowdy wolf that Jimin and Taehyung took care of had been. Taking a deep breath, you push the slightly ajar door open, biting your lip in anticipation of what you will see on the other side.
It’s a room similar in shape to Jungkook’s, but with blues and yellows mixed into the scheme of whites and greys. It is, put simply and as objectively as possible, a mess. You can see where things have been knocked off of shelves and desks, and some items (namely one of the bed posts) have been chewed up and left disfigured. It looks like a house with remnants of a temper tantrum from a puppy left alone too soon. They aren’t on the bed, which is oddly bare, and you see why a moment later when you catch sight of them huddled together on the floor, the size of small bears but shaking and whimpering so pathetically that you don’t feel even a shred of fear as you gaze upon them. A rumpled mixture of fluffy blankets and duvets are beneath them in a makeshift nest, some of them still attached to the bed and tucked underneath the end of the mattress.
You’re not sure what you expected when you stepped into the room, but it wasn’t for the two wolves to fall dead silent upon your arrival. You freeze, unsure how to proceed until there is a nudge at your back, and you turn over your shoulder to see Yunho giving you an encouraging look.
“Just go over to them, it will be okay. They won’t hurt you.”
You didn’t realise that was a fear you had until his words soothed it, and you take another deep breath to steel yourself before following his directions. You can’t tell whether the wolves are awake, or in that feverish place between sleep and waking, but the closer you get the less restless they seem and the less noises tumble from their jaws. Unsure what they want you to do when you reach the wolves, you turn back with a questioning look. Already, at the silence in the room, Yunho has a relieved look on his face. He makes a hand movement, gesturing for you to take a seat, and you see several heads pop around the doorframe to watch as you do so.
Blushing madly and pretending that you’re not as embarrassed as you are, you sink to your knees in front of the two wolves, eyes scanning over the one you hadn’t seen before today.
Seokjin, if you recall correctly; the eldest in the pack (well… this little subgroup of the larger pack, anyway), and the other wolf that bowled you over that day. A sense of familiarity washes over you as you view him, too, despite the fact you don’t think you’ve ever seen him in his wolf form before. His coat is sandy and light, caramel-hued in some places with accents of white around his eyes and front paws. Again, you can’t quite place where you’ve seen him before, but you know deep down that you have. The same goes for Jungkook, who appears extra dark next to his lighter packmate. Each of their heads is larger, broader than one of your thighs, something you become acutely aware of as you shuffle closer on your knees. Two barely-seeing sets of amber eyes watch your every movement.
Just when you go to look back and see what they want you to do next, there is shuffling from in front of you that captures your attention instead; a whimper escapes Jungkook, but Seokjin is the one that is moving, lifting his head and craning it forward until his moist nose skims your knee, sniffing tentatively. Whatever you smell like must confirm something for him, because in the next moment he’s letting out a low whine from the back of his throat and struggling forward, butting his head against you before rubbing the side of it along your thigh. You don’t have words to describe how hot your face is right now. Just when you think it can’t get any more embarrassing, the darker wolf gains a sudden burst of energy and lurches forward, snapping his teeth around the edge of your shorts leg and tugging lightly.
“Wh—” you don’t even have the brain space to finish whatever you were going to say, too busy shuffling forward and trying to make sure this wolf doesn’t pants you in front of the rest of the pack who are—as you confirm with an alarmed look over your shoulder—still watching everything unfold. The wolf, Jungkook, doesn’t stop tugging until you’re nestled deep between their two bodies, their temperatures rising each second you spend there, and as soon as he releases his teeth from the material of your shorts, Seokjin’s body is tilting and his head is coming to press against you and trap you in.
This is ridiculous. Is this actually happening? Are you not still at home, dreaming?
Your alarmed look is directed at the rest of the pack mates and Yunho once more, the older man letting out a sigh and wincing lightly. The rest of the members seem an odd mix of relieved and baffled. It does not soothe you one bit.
“Okay… y/n, there’s something we need to talk to you about.”

Just a little list of my soft Draco obsession
For  @vemodalensx
Theres a few here but I’ve left some out since the list was getting a bit long. I might make another list with more.
The list separated between cute Draco and vulnerable Draco just so you can choose whether or not you want a bit of sadness with your softness ^3^
Oh and ofc it goes without saying that the whole list is Bottom Draco hehe
Cute Soft Draco
Flower Crowns (2.4k words)
It started with a single flower 🥀 Draco makes flower crowns for Harry and that is how the whole school finds out about them. A happy dose of Harry with flowers in his hair, and a smitten Draco.
Dreaming of you (21k words)
Harry has nightmares, he wishes for a night when he can sleep without nightmares. What happens when he starts dreaming of Draco Malfoy? Draco left the wizarding world after the war, he's a librarian and lives peacefully in muggle London, what happens when Harry fucking Potter shows up at his work place?
Honey (
Harry is sick of Draco's oh-so-adorable endearments.
The Care and Management of Volatile Veelas
Harry adopts a Veela. He really didn’t mean to.
Quidditch Wife (Part 2)
Theres no real summary for this except for  It's got all my favourite guilty pleasures, like protective!Harry and vulnerable!Draco, with a side of jealous!Harry and SportyQuidditch!Harry (and I think the top!Harry rather goes without saying).
All our pieces....fall right into places series
The first story:  Draco had had a crush for a while and now that he had Harry in his bed...He was everything that Draco needed.
Trick or Treat
Harry had no idea that he was such a fetishist - a fact which he discovers on Halloween.
Pretty
Harry finds a pair of stockings in the back of their dresser.
The Sweater
After being forced to room together in 8th year, Draco and Harry become friends and decide to continue their living arrangements post Hogwarts. The only problem is, Draco can't seem to stop stealing Harry's clothes.
1095 Roses for a life time
Being woken up by the lips of your boyfriend is always a nice surprise, especially on the morning of yours third anniversary of dating, which leads to hot and passionate morning activity. But all this is just to indulge in themselves, Harry's surprise includes roses and a promise for a lifetime. Will they be the right choice?
Get your kinks out
Harry plays seeker for the Magpies, and he discovers that one of his teammates secretly wears lace panties. What begins as a sexual relationship becomes increasingly complicated by Harry’s fame, Draco’s family, and Harry’s ambivalent feelings about dominating Draco.
Can’t say no
Draco really has the worst friends. When they put a spell on him that he has to say no to everything Harry says.....things don't turn out well.
OR
That time when Harry proposes and gets turned down because of his horrible friends.
What Draco wants
Out of anything a petty fight with Harry Potter could have led to, Draco Malfoy least expected it to end with him bent over a table, questioning his relationship and feelings for Potter, and having the best sex of his life.
Criminal
Things were going just fine for Draco Malfoy. He successfully conned and counted cards across Europe and America, amassing a small fortune, along with a lengthy rap sheet. That was until he made the grave mistake of returning to England for a high stakes card game and got himself caught – by Harry Potter no less. Now, Draco is stuck in England under Auror Potter’s guard with no friends, no distractions, and no escape. How the hell will he pass the time? And since when did Potter get so bloody fit?
Things Change
Harry and Draco's friends notice something different about them when they fight. See what they find out when they walk down an empty hallway.
Whats a little veritasium between two sworn enemies?
Draco Malfoy has a nasty habit of always coming across such bad luck no matter where circumstance presents itself and unfortunately that doesn't seem to change when his bloody nemesis Harry Potter over hears him talking about Veritaserum potions in the hallways past curfew. ( It was Pansy fault really)
Harry wants to know what the Slytherin boy is up to, especially with how nervous Malfoy is, but is that ALL Harry wants to know?
Mr Right Now - side note: Cedric/Draco
What do you do when you're feeling down about your ex? Make him jealous! Story features Cedric Diggory and Draco Malfoy trying to win back their loves, but somehow end up falling into each other's arms
For the love a kitten
With Voldemort Dead, life is not easy for Harry as Old friends become enemies and old enemies become friend. With the return of three Slytherins, Harry life is turned upside down.
How to prepare for a wedding night
I have a neighbour. He is stuck in a loveless relationship and an arranged marriage. He has zero experience in bed. He needs my help so that his love life won't suck for the next few decades. He needs a sex teacher. Oh... and the neighbour happens to be Draco freaking Malfoy. And I might be a little tiny bit in love with the git...
Draco's Scent
In which Harry can't be around Draco for long without the boy's stupid smell messing with his mind, and he really, really hates that.
Turn The Heat Up
Wonky Cooling Charms result in interesting revelations
Flirt
Draco and Hermione make a devastating duo at the Ministry as the respective Department Heads of Wizarding Culture Preservation and Muggle Relations. When Harry Potter gets involved in their latest joint project, Draco can’t seem to stop himself from constantly flirting with him even when it doesn’t seem to affect the golden boy at all. He’s wrong. Harry is most definitely affected. Includes Slytherin shenanigans, Draco sucking at quidditch, and Harry trying not to be charmed. Draco POV.
Angsty/Vulnerable Soft Draco
The Draco Malfoy incident - side note: I cried big time
Draco Malfoy is best friends with a Hufflepuff. A HUFFLEPUFF! He's also partnered with a redhead git, trying to hide from an obsessive green-eyed saviour and has become overly fond with sunrises. It's exhausting. Can't a man plan an assassination in peace around here?
I’m not in your dreams
Draco has dreamt with Harry's voice since he was fourteen, so there's no doubt for him about who his soulmate is. Now, in their Eighth Year, Harry has finally dreamt with his soulmate's voice too. The problem is that Draco was born mute.
Yours for the taking
Draco was raised to be the perfect Omega, but there are things even he cannot endure. When he discovers just what Tom Riddle's plans for him are once he's claimed him he is confronted with an impossible decision. Only one thing remains clear: he will never be able to go back home.
Luckily, Harry Potter is there to save the day
Rough on you - side note: Dark Harry. This is more vulnerable Draco than soft Draco so please read the tags before you start the story :) I was unsure whether I wanted to add this here but hey-ho
"I'm the only one that can give you want you really want." Harry spun Draco around and held his arms at his side and he pressed against his back, whispering against his throat. "That can force you, that can humiliate you… that can hurt you, and you want it. You want me."
Harry is having a bad day. Draco just cannot learn to keep his mouth shut. Neither of them would have predicted it would lead to this.
But who guards the dragon?
This is an expansion of my one-shot, It'll be Okay. You don't have to read it first, it will be in the story. Requested. DMHP Sub/Dom relationship. Slash. Don't like, don't read. Harry thinks a few thinks through, then comes into his creature inheritance. He finds out that he is the dominant mate to one Draco Malfoy. But things are never easy for the boy who lived
Taken For Granted
Having pined for Harry for long enough, Draco decided that it was time to give up and move on. What happens when Harry realizes too late what he's lost?
Mourning
Harry returns to school to complete his NEWTs. There he finds a much changed Draco Malfoy and surprisingly subdued Professor Snape.
In your arms, rests my world
Harry presses his mouth to Malfoy's forehead; he wants to tell him that he’ll never leave, that he wouldn’t dream of it.
“You make me feel safe, Potter” Malfoy whispers. “You keep me safe.”
Inside your mind
Goyle's taken it upon himself to act as Malfoy's personal, one-man guard and Harry can't help but feel like it's only making the bullying worse.
"I'll Protect You," and you can seal that with an Unbreakable Vow
His friends may tease but Harry doesn't feel bad for keeping a close eye on the Slytherin boy of one Draco Malfoy, after all someone has to do it. So when Harry secretly follows the pure-blood boy out past the courtyard, there's nothing strange or unusual about it; nor is it wrong.
Unfortunately the same can not be said for the scenario Harry accidentally stumbles upon as he can't help but stare in horror. It's not just wrong. It's absolutely despicable and Harry, well, Harry just has to do something about it.
A Big Black Sky
Draco shifts his head as he turns to look at Scorpius, his cheek touching the pillow. "Did you know that…" He pauses, his throat convulsing, and it sounds audible in the silence, besides Michael's steady, even breathing from the other bedroom.
Scorpius is staring back at him, in wait of something new to learn, a beautiful and intelligent child. He has Draco's mind. He has Draco's eyes and nose and mouth and hair. He is his. All his. All he has of Michael are his wild curls and the green of his eyes, and sometimes he looks into them and imagines that they aren't Michael's, but someone else's.
Draco leans his head closer, biting the quiver out of his lips before he breathes a laden and shuddering exhale, and he whispers, "You are my star in a big black sky."
Song To Say Goodbye
Draco should have remembered that life doesn’t always turn out the way you want it to. Somewhere along the way he forgot to always be careful and was left with nothing. It was hard enough getting himself together the first time, can he do it again?
Small spoiler for Song to Say Goodbye below
Its not Drarry Endgame: he ends up with a OMC cuz Harrys a big dickhead

Headcanons for Deep as the Sea(Shine Your Eyes) au? I love that au!
Oh, my horror experiment. I'm not quite sure how to continue this one, so I haven't posted a new chapter in a while.
But let's see about those headcanons.
1) In the beginning there were three Gods.
Etro, who was death, and who created the world and all living things in it. (For where there is death, there must be life, for it to be known.)
Eos, who was the light, and who gave the gift of her light to Etro's creation to a great cost to herself. (For what greater sacrifice can there be but to deny oneself to see what wonders you brought?)
Chaos, who has always been more concept than being. The Nothing and the Something, the Unexpected and the Chance.
Both Etro and Eos, through their powers, created beings that were... different. Humanity gave them the name Astrals.
But Chaos, they, following their sisters, also created something. The Unknowing, the Incomprehensible. The Madness. Great things that know neither life nor death, luking in the edges of creation.
It's one of these beings Galahd formed a pact with.
2) To most of the world Galahd is nothing more than a barely remembered cautionary tale. A story told during dark nights to scare the listeners with.
It was a great nation once, the story starts, but it fell to greed and social decay. It fell so far that the Astrals themselves had to step in and put an end to things. The great stone spire in the Galahdian Sea is there as a waarning to all future generations. That no society shall fall this far again.
Galahd, of course, tells the story differently.
There was a scourge after Solheim fell. It ate the lands, and was licking att Galahd's borders. They knew it was only a matter of time before they, too, would fall victim to the scourge, but then something happened.
Dreams. Voices from the Deep that drove many to madness. A temple was build in the until then untouched stone spire. Things started growing. Strange plants along the walls and within stone. Trees started to weep salt water. Scales grew along human askin.
A curse?
Whatever it was, it kept away the scourge. And when that fact became known and people started to flock to the islands in desperation, a war was fought.
It ended with the Thing that now called Galahd its own, sinking the whole nation into the ocean. All but the temple, for it may yet lure more people into its depths.
3) The Crystal is intrinsically tied to the Lucis Caelum line. The reason for that is that the Lucis Caelums are blood descendents of the Goddess Eos and the Crystal is her heart.
It connects to all the Lucis Caelum rule over and after over 100 generations, the Crystal is deeply tied to the land as well. They are a triumvirate: The Crystal, the Lucis Caelums and the Land.
Noctis is young and as the only living Lucis Caelum, bearing one third of the triumvirate falls upon his shoulders. It makes him sick. And leaving the borders of the Lucian Kingdom only makes it worse.
4) Nyx is one of the few people tasked with looking after the temple in the stone spire. It makes him more connected to the Thing lurking in the Deep.
It has changed him more than it has the others who changed by virtue of simply being Galahkari. He is what they call a Temple Guard.
Nyx is old. He remembers a time when Galahd was not beneath the waves. He is one of the few remaining people who remember the feeling of being human and slowly becoming something different. Something else. Manifestations of a dream dreamt by a Thing that was once naught but a Thought of Chaos.
5) Nyx does not quite know why he saved the human man and the young one. (That's a lie. He knows exactly why. He can still feel the beat of a crystal heart pressing against his very being. Pleading, hopeful. Dying.)
He watches the man try to take care of the slowly dying crystal-child and feels pity. But he can't bring himself to do something. Not until the man comes back, a well known aura of dreams-unknowing-deep breath-pressure-madness clingin to him and shards of burning magic and pulsing crystal in his veins.
The man has taken the first step in becoming something else. Something more. Something not quite dream-thought or crystal-light-heartbeat.
It makes Nyx curious. So he steps forward.

I saw the post you reblogged that was about the one specific detail that shows up in your writing and it has lived in my head rent free since then but I decided what I think yours is! This is mostly re: Blake fic but having also read hov I think it's true of that too. Anyway in a lot of fics you write there's this idea of a character (usually Jean, also liv) who had big dreams a long time ago but learned to put them to bed because the universe taught her that they weren't realistic. But then someone (Lucien, or Elliot) comes along and, slowly and kindly, rekindles those dreams. Then, usually, something bad happens and throws the dream into peril again, begging the question, was she wrong to bring it to light again? Was the universe right to teach her, all those years ago, that these dreams were not hers to reach for?? But then!! The dream comes true. It always does. And she learns that the things she wants will sometimes be the things she gets. She learns that it's safe, not reckless, to have dreams, that it's human, not sinful, to have wants. I see this in all things bright and beautiful (which I just finished I LOVE IT SM) where Halcyon is like, the physical manifestation of the part of Jean that wants to dream, the part she's been trying to subdue her whole life. Also in A Messy Kind of Love, Lucien and Jean have both dreamed of their soulmate and all but given up hope by the time they find each other. And in Shelter, my girl has this dream of going out and buying herself a little cottage and having freedom and independence and then she gets sick and loses those things but then she gets something even better! And again in hov, Liv has ALWAYS wanted children, wanted family, wanted a home, dreamt of belonging to somewhere and someone. And piece by piece she gets all of those things too. And SALVATION SONG it's so clear in that! You even wrote iirc something to the effect of "it was a beautiful dream, but it was only a dream" when Jean leaves the castle and resigns herself to never seeing Lucien again. I think that one actually might be the best example of it bc the idea of the castle housekeeper marrying the king is so far out of reach for her that it is far too easy for her to accept it as a beautiful little dream that is never going to come true. But then it does 😭😭😭
Anyway this ask has turned out so very long and I could basically write a dissertation on your writing (this was all just off the top of my head) but I think that if there is a grand message to much of what you write it is this. We can, and should, and must have dreams. They are beautiful, and exciting, and they keep us going. And sometimes, they even come true.
It's a lovely message and it shines beautifully in so many of the things that you write and i think it's a big part of what makes your fic such a joy to read.
Macy I 😳
this is so much?? i am so moved that you took the time to really dig into this, and sort of peeled back these layers and made this really profound connection bc you're right. it's not something i ever articulated to myself - bc we often do not see ourselves as clearly as other people do, do we? - but it is a major theme in like. just about everything i write, isn't it?
and there are reasons for that and like i don't wanna turn this into a therapy session but i read this and i had to like take a walk bc ooooof you just reached into my psyche and pulled out something i don't like to look at 🤣🤣🤣
sometimes, we tell ourselves it's safer not to dream. sometimes we try to protect ourselves from heartbreak by putting dreams aside. but what is a life without dreams? sometimes it hurts to dream, but god doesn't it hurt worse to bury the dream yourself? and sometimes, those dreams do come true. hope is something worth living for.
thank you for this, friend. this is just lovely and you really did about make me cry lmao

Draco Malfoy x reader
Year 1-part 1
word count- 1326
You have always been ready to go to Hogwarts, but you started to worry that maybe you won't get a letter even though you're part of a pure-blood family. You were sitting on the couch when your mom came in from getting the mail. “Ron!! Y/n!!” she yelled for you guys. You both look at each other curiously. You got up and slowly walked to her. “Yes?” you both questioned. “Your letters came in,” she said happily. You smiled brightly at her words.
The day had come for your first day at Hogwarts. You put your hair up in a ponytail, and put your hand down robes. You smiled at your older brothers Fred and George. They were identical twins, both with red hair that was cut short, they both had brown eyes that were so pretty, and they both were big pranksters. “I hope I make Gryffindor” you said worried that you won't. “You will, we promise” they both said together. You smiled at your brothers and hugged them tightly.
You were at the train station. You were waiting to go through the 9 and 3/4 platform. Fred, George, Percy, Ron, and some other boy you all met at the train station had already gone through the platform. “So all I have to do is run through it?” you asked your mom. “Yes, Y/n that's all you have to do” she said with a soft tone. You smiled at her and grabbed your trolley. You ran through the wall with your eyes glued shut, you were scared that it wouldn't work. When you didn’t feel anything happen you opened your eyes. You were mesmerized by what this meant. You were actually going to Hogwarts, what you have waited to do for years, what you have dreamt about for years. Your eyes welled up with tears, because of how happy you were. You hugged your mom goodbye before getting on the train.
You sat next to Fred and George since they're your favorite out of the family. You sat in between the two. Fred wrapped his arm around you. You looked up at him smiling. “Are you excited to get sorted into your house?” He asked you. “Well not really I’m kinda worried that I might not get sorted into Gryffindor.”  you explain to him. “Well that's fine, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are both good houses.” George said to you. “Yeah but what happens if I get Slytherin?” you asked worriedly. “You won't” “Get Slytherin” Fred said the first part and George said the second part seamlessly. “Your promise?” you said holding out your pinky. “We Promise” the both said together and interlocked their pinkies with yours.
It was time for the sorting ceremony, the sorting ceremony is where you get the sorting hat placed on your head and get sorted into your house, that will be your house for the remainder of your time at Hogwarts. There are four houses that you can be sorted in, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and the one that everyone who isn't in that house hates Slytherin. Fred had once told you that people who were in Slytherin were evil people so you always hoped that you wouldn’t get Slytherin. Your whole family are Gryfinndors, so you had always thought that if you get anything else they will be disappointed in you and especially if you get Slytherin, so you were scared to get sorted. All the first years including you were in the middle of the great hall. Mcgonagall had said that the ceremony was about to start and everyone started clapping. “Hermione Granger” She called up someone. A girl walked up to the chair. She had brown eyes, long curly brown messy hair that went down to her shoulders and she had bangs that sat just above her eyebrows. “Gryffiondor!” you hear the sorting hat yell. Everyone from the Gryffiondor table starts clapping and cheering for a few seconds. “Ronald Weasley” you saw your twin brother go up, He has red hair that is cut short, and bright blue eyes, and had pale skin.  His eyes or one of the things that don’t match you, you have forest green eyes. You and him have a few differences like he's a boy and you're a girl/whatever you prefer, he has short hair and yours goes to your shoulders, he has blue eyes and you have green eyes. “Gryffindor” the sorting hat says loudly, you hadn’t even realized the hat was on his head yet. Yet again the Gryffindor started cheering again. “Harry Potter” you saw the same guy you met at the train station, he had short black hair, and green eyes just like yours, he was really tan. A few minutes pass and you hear and another yell from the hat “Gryffindor!” Again they cheered.”Draco Malfoy” He had almost white hair that was gelled back, Grey blue eyes, and very pale skin he looked almost as if he was sick.. “Let me guess Gryffindor?” you thought to yourself. “Slytherin” You hear the hat yell. You hear the Slytherin house cheer for the first time. “Y/n Weasley” You walked up to the chair, you were so scared. The hat gets placed on your head, he talks for a few minutes before yelling “Slytherin” you feel your heart drop down to your stomach. You get up and slowly walk to the table while they're cheering, you look at Fred and George, they are looking straight at you. You know they are disappointed in you, at least you think they are.
“Hey over here” you hear someone say. You look and it’s the kid you saw Draco Malfoy. You sit next to him. “So a Weasley Slytherin, huh? Interesting” He says to you. You look down at your feet  in disappointment. “Yeah, I wonder what my parents are going to think” You respond to him. “I mean I’m sure they’ll understand you in the most respected house,” he explained. “Not really, all my family told me was that Slytherins were evil” your eyes welled with tears. “We're not evil I promise” he said to you. You slightly smile at him. The rest of the people got sorted into their houses, while you talked to Draco about random things. After the Sorting ceremony we all and the feast they had prepared, didn't eat that much cause you were still worried about what your family might think. When everyone was done eating you went to Fred with tears in your eyes. Fred took one look at you and immediately pulled you into a tight hug. “Fred w-what's mom going to think?” You asked crying while gripping onto his shirt tightly. George walked up and saw you and immediately felt so bad for you. “Everything is going to be ok I promise” Fred whispers to you. You let go of Fred slowly. “I should go to my dorm now” You say softly. “Yes you should” Fred says as you walk off.
You got to the common room with the rest of the Slytherins. You decided to sit on the couch before going to the common room. Draco sits next to you, and smiles at you. “So I guess this is what we get to come back to after are classes for the rest of the year” He says softly to you “Yeah.. i guess” you said back to his words. “I'm going to go to my dorm room” you said to him while walking off. You got to your dorm and sat on your bed, you were really tired after everything that had happened. You slowly lay down, the bed felt like a big cozy blanket even though you didn’t use the blankets yet. You got under the blanket and slowly drifted off to sleep. The first day at Hogwarts couldn’t have been any more stressful for you. Especially learning that you are a Slytherin in an all Gryffindor family.
this will also be posted on wattpad- lucablack23, it will be pretty long each year all the way up to 7th year will have 3 parts or more.

Bokuto, Kenma and Nishinoya getting prank ignored for a day
requested: HC of Bokuto Kenma and Nishinoya to getting ignored by their s/o like their s/o avoiding them for the whole day as a prank and they’re just sad :((
Honestly I think I’d probably cry if someone ever did this to me, prank or not lol
Also I’m glad to announce that my requests are open again! I finished writing the last one today! There’s about 10 posts waiting in my drafts that I finished and I’ll be posting them over the span of next week and hopefully finish some new requests, but my exams are approaching so please bare with me lol
Bokuto Koutarou:
Tumblr media
Lately, your boyfriend has been very busy with volleyball. The national tournament was near and therefore he spent more time practicing than doing anything else. He barely even had time for you and though you understood this was important to him, you still found yourself sulking over the lack of attention and love.
So you decide to pull a uno reverse card on him and ignore him as a prank for the whole day. Seeing his reaction would maybe make up for everything.
It started off in the morning. Normally you would send him a sweet good morning text, but today you skipped it and found yourself smiling when you see he’s typing, but you don’t bother to look at his message.
During school it’s quite easy to avoid him, since you two are not in the same class. Still, he peeks into your classroom before class starts and when he sees you his face lights up, but you don’t even look in his direction, so he leaves again with a big pout on his face.
During lunch you ask your friends if you could eat somewhere else and not in the hall where everybody, including your boyfriend, would be. While sitting outside and eating you receive a bunch of messages from him, some of them just pouting emojis and some hearts. It is hard for you to ignore them but you do, continuing your evil plan.
Only after school does it get really bad. When you step out of the building he immediately pulls you aside and wraps his arms around you. “Y/NNNNNN, why are you ignoring me?” he whines. “What did I doooo?”
You chuckle and give in, since he crossed your plans and you couldn’t get out of this now. “Well, it felt like you were ignoring me because of volleyball.” you say quietly and you feel Bokuto stiffen against you.
He pulls away and looks at you. “I know.” he sighs. “I’m sorry, but nationals are soon.” When he sees your expression he pouts again. “But don’t ignore me again, I thought you were really mad at me.” And then he hugs you tightly again, pressing you against the wall.
Kenma Kozume:
Tumblr media
There’s been a new game that he has been playing non stop lately and it kinda got on your nerves. Normally he would always let your rest your head on his chest while he’s gaming, but now he claims the he has to concentrate on the game, so you can just sit next to him and sulk as he’s gaming.
So you plan a little revenge on him and ignore him for a day. No texts, no calls, no conversations. You wouldn’t even visit his practice like you usually would.
Honestly it was not a big act to avoid Kenma for a day. Your schedules didn’t overlap and since he was always playing games you barely saw him anywhere. Normally you would send him small texts during the day, complaining about teachers or classes, but it was easy to not do that for a day.
Kenma noticed your absence at practice, too. Normally he would wait for you outside of the gym, but no matter how long he waited, you didn’t come and he grew suspicious. You never acted like that. Was something wrong? Were you sick?
He got worried, so after practice he came over to your house and you were surprised to see him standing there, his eyes slowly scanning your body for any sign of sickness. When he didn’t find any, he tilted his head. “Are you sick, Y/N?”
You sigh and cross your arms in front of your chest. “I am sick of you playing that game and not paying attention to me, yes.”
Kenmas expression barely shifts, but he’s obviosuly irritated. “You normally don’t care about me playing games...”
“Yes, but that was before you didn’t let me touch you when you were playing. It’s like you’re dating that game and not me.” When he hears your frustrated tone Kenma just steps closer to you and presses a soft kiss to your lips.
“My game can’t do that. My game doesn’t cuddle me the way you do. I’m sorry, Y/N.”
Nishinoya Yuu:
Tumblr media
Sometimes Nishinoya can be a little too enthusiastic when it came to youzr relationship. He was so happy he had you by his side and if he could he would spend 24/7 with you. He was always jumping around you, texting you, calling you. But sometimes you needed time for yourself and you didn’t know how to tell him and that’s how the idea came up in your mind.
Ignoring him for a day would be torture for the both of you, since he could be so cute you could barely resist him. But you wanted to try, anyway.
You already woke up to 10 messages from him, wishing you a good day, saying how he dreamt of you and that he couldn’t wait to see you today. You had to smile when you got the notification, but ignored them.
You received 20 more texts on your way to school. In school he was already waiting, leaned against the wall as he was typing something into his phone, probably another message to you. He looked up and greeted you with a bright smile as soon as you appeared in front of his eyes, but you casually walked past him and literally ran into your classroom. Unfortunately he was in the same class as you and during class he kept on whispering to you or throwing things your way. You almost lost your patience and temper.
At lunch it was over for you. Before you could even get there Nishinoya came up running behind you and literally pushed you into the next corner where you two were alone. Without any more words he smashed his lips to yours before you could react to it. You just magically melted under his touch, before he pulled away and looked at you in confusion.
“Why are you ignoring me, Y/N? Did I do something?”
His big eyes and pouty mouth make you sigh in defeat as you link your hands behind his neck. “I’m sorry Noya, I think I just needed some time to myself for a while.”
He softly caresses your waist with his fingers. “And you couldn’t just tell me? I felt like air to you the whole day, it was really not nice.”
You breathe out and press him to your chest again. “It won’t happen again, Noya.” And then you press another kiss to his cheek.

Todoroki with a kindhearted s/o
I really think that Todoroki is not the type of person who can fall in love at first sight. There could be a moment when he suddenly realizes that he is IN LOVE with you, but I feel like it would happen sometime after you met him, and got friends with him.
Let's just make things clear first, I think he would take things really slow. He needs to know you before he can say that he is IN LOVE with you. He would admit to himself (or even to Midoriya or Tenya) that he is attracted to you, but the deeper feelings would come after he gets to know you better.
Therefore, every time he will witness your acts of kindness, these soft feeling inside of him will melt his heart more and more.
Kindness and generally being kindhearted is the way to win him over. If you are a good person and you are friendly with him, he will consider you as a friend already, maybe not in a way like Izuku does, but he will look at you as an ally at least.
He is a traditional guy, so after some time being friends with you, he will just ask you out for a simple date. Maybe it would be a little bit blunt, but honest in all aspects. At this point, both of you would know each other enough to be sure about your feelings.
And even after you are in a relationship, he will fall for you, again and again, every time you do something genuinely kind. He is just a sucker for these soft feelings you awake in him with these acts, and it doesn't even have to be about him. He will watch in awe if you help an elderly person cross the street, carrying their grocery bag.
And if it's about him. O. M. G. He is not used to these kinds of acts, the whole concept of someone being kind to him is such a big thing for him, even after befriending Izuku and the others. And because of this, he will feel so honored and grateful that you do all these things for him. Although he knows that you are not kind just for HIM, you are kind and trustworthy with everyone, and that means so much more for him.
He sees you like an angel or even a goddess, and you bet that he will treat you like one.
He is very protective of you. Like not being jealous and possessive, just protective. He sees you as a pure, perfect being, and whether you are a fragile or a strong personality, he would be the same. Shoto would be like a guard dog, protecting you from all the things that are wrong in this world.
If you are a hero student like him, he would never, ever doubt that you will be a spectacular pro hero when you finally get your license and start to work as one. He would be so proud that you are his s/o. If you would ever feel like you are not good enough, he would get even a little offended. Like, how dare you think that when you are the first to help someone out when they are in need?
It wouldn't be any different if you are just a civilian. He thinks that being a hero is not just about getting a license and kick ass. It could be so much more than that, you don't have to use your quirk to make a difference.
You can help homeless people with some warm food on a cold evening, make children smile in a hospital when they are sick, give something to those who never dreamt of having anything in the first place.
Todoroki sees these acts as saving people in a way, and if you are that kind of person, he would honor you just as he thinks of pro heroes.
And if you don't even have a quirk? I said already that he would be protective, but if you are quirkless, he will be so much more concerned about you. First of all, he would think that it is extremely amazing that you do everything you can, even when you are not like a stereotypical hero type, and if you would ever feel bad about yourself because of that, he would reassure you that you are SO MUCH MORE than just someone without a quirk. Your ways of being a hero are not that different than his, if you do your absolute best every day to make the world a better place, then you walk the same path as he does. Plus Ultra and all.
But here's a thing, without a quirk, the chance is lower you would stand a chance if you would have to protect yourself from a villain. Of course, you can learn such things as a martial art, but even with that, you would be pretty much vulnerable.
So Shoto would try his best not to be annoying, but he couldn't help but checking on you whenever he can. Call you on the phone, text you, or anything: just to know that you're doing fine.
Quirkless, civilian, hero in the making: if you are someone who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand up for the things you believe in? He would be head over heels. He values your courage and the whole 'being true to yourself' attitude so much.
(and if you are shy, don't worry, he would love to take care of you just as much you do with other people or animals <3 he's such a softie)
In a nutshell, being kindhearted is a key to win his heart, and if you are a kind and caring person, you are already a hero in his eyes.

Fic: The whirlwind is in the thorn tree
wincest | about 3000 words | R for language and adult themes | characters: sam winchester, dean winchester
synopsis: My first and probably last stab at Wincest. No actual sex, just post-coital angst.
Flowers in the Attic is a cheesy gothic novel featuring four children who are locked in an attic by their scheming mother who hopes to hide their existence; the oldest son and daughter eventually begin an incestuous relationship.
The title is from "The Man Comes Around" by Johnny Cash, which I never heard until recently but am now obsessed with.
. . .
Part 1: Dean
It doesn't start with romance or lust. It doesn't start with that little flash of bare skin visible above his jeans when he raises his arms (it makes you crazy and you don't know why; you see him shirtless all the time but for some reason that little strip of skin that isn't meant to be showing just brings you to your knees). It doesn't start with you staring at that perfectly sculpted spot at the base of his throat and finally setting your mouth to it and marking him up the way you've dreamt about for years (you've bruised him when you were sparring, and you've battered him in anger, but you've never left a mark for the purpose of saying hands off, he's mine and oh, what you would do just for the chance). It doesn't start with you too drunk to keep holding it all in and Sam too drunk to say no (you would never, you would never).
It starts with terror. Pure balls-to-the-wall terror that you're about to lose him. A horribly fucked-up hunt where you almost die, but more importantly, you almost watch Sam die, and you stumble into your motel room, both still out of breath, still not quite sure what happened out there, and you're checking him for injuries and every breath is a silent mantra, I almost lost you, I almost lost you, and nothing is enough, you want to crawl under his skin, you want to open him up and cradle his heart in your hands to make sure it's still beating, you're holding him tighter and tighter and he's clutching you just as tight, looking into your soul with those big wet eyes and saying “Dean, Dean," like your name itself is a prayer, a request. A plea. Whatever he is pleading for, you will give it to him. And it turns out the only thing he wants is all of you.
Which is convenient. Because the only thing you want is all of him.
. . .
But then comes After, and you have to face what you've done.
When you wake up (his arm is still flung over you, it's so wrong, it's so wrong), you quietly crawl out of bed and hurry into the shower. There is no water hot enough to scrub you clean, no soap strong enough to wash away your sins (watch out for your brother, it's your most important job). When you give up and turn off the water, you realize you didn't bring any clothes to change into, and you sure as hell weren't wearing any when you fled into the bathroom. There's nothing you can do but wrap a towel around your waist and hope he's still asleep.
He's not. He's sitting up in the bed you shared. His hair is a tousled mess, a silky brown cloud, and your fingers twitch with the craving to be tangled in it again. He doesn't look disgusted, or repulsed. He looks… hopeful. Like he hasn't caught on yet that you are a monster.
(He will be the death of you.)
(He is your reason for living.)
You sit on the other bed and try not to stare at that hickey that you finally managed to put at the base of his throat. (There are other marks. Don't look at them either.)
He speaks first. "Look, I know this is some crazy Flowers in the Attic kind of shit—"
"Oh, this is so much worse than Flowers in the Attic."
"Why?" His brow furrows. "Because it's gay?"
Which stops you in your tracks, because of course that's not the problem. But also because you haven't even thought of this as gay. It's not that you're interested in guys. You're not thinking about random guys when you jack off in the shower, or when you can't fall asleep, or when your life sucks and your heart hurts and you need an escape. It's not guys. It's not anyone else. You've chased a lot of tail over the years, trying to convince yourself otherwise, but it's just Sam. Only, always and forever, Sam.
But now he's looking at you like you're some kind of monster, like being a homophobe is somehow worse than being a sick bastard who wants to fuck his little brother. So you quickly say "No, dammit, you know that's not it."
"Then what? Why is it worse?"
And it's not fair that Sam is both your victim and the priest who will hear your confession; it's not fair that you're going to have to say the thing that will make him hate you, make him walk away from you again, but, well. Life stopped being fair when you were four years old. He would have figured it out anyway. He's too damn smart not to eventually realize whose fault it all is.
"It's worse because I raised you, Sam. I did this to you. I made you want this."
"What?" Sam's voice goes up an octave, incredulous. "You're saying you groomed me?"
"Not on purpose! But yeah, subconsciously, I must have done something! I must have screwed you up somehow. Otherwise, you wouldn't… there's no way you would have…"
"Slept with my brother? So there's no way I would have wanted to have sex with my brother unless someone snuck into my brain and planted the idea there? Someone must have made me want it? Is that what happened?"
Oh, Jesus, Sam just needs to stop talking, because he's making it worse. Yes, obviously you planted that idea in his sweet, trusting little head. Who knows when or where or how, but obviously you did that. Obviously you took him, the brother you were supposed to watch out for, you took his innocent love for you and twisted it into something awful and self-serving.
But he's not looking at you like he just realized what a monster you are, like he finally saw the darkness you've managed to hide all this time. He's smiling.
"You're an idiot," he says. "But okay, let's say you're right. Let's say the only reason I would want to have sex with my brother is because someone raised me wrong. Someone screwed with my head when I was little and made me want this. Then who did it to you?"
No, wait. That's not. You stare at him, mute.
"If you raised me to want this," he continues, "who did it to you? Dad? Is that what was going on, all those times you guys went off on a hunt and left me at a hotel? Dad spent the whole time convincing you that at some point you were going to have to throw me on the bed and have your way with me?"
"Dammit, Sam, that's not funny."
"I'm not trying to be funny, Dean. I'm just trying to show you how ridiculous it is to blame yourself. No one made you want it, and no one made me want it. It's just a product of our fucked-up lives. There are no victims here."
Is that possible? You want (so much, so much) to believe it. But even if he's not your victim, he still has to see how wrong it is. You've ripped your heart wide open and he's staring right at its dark, festering core. Surely he sees that.
"It may be a victimless kind of fucked up," you say cautiously, afraid to break whatever spell has been cast. "But it's still pretty fucked up."
"I'm not saying it's normal," he says. "You and me, this is definitely not normal. But we left normal behind a long time ago. We were never gonna have that. And this is something we do get to have."
Oh, okay. Sam can't have normal, so he's settling for Dean Winchester, the world's shittiest consolation prize. Well, that's the only part of this that makes sense. And you're not too proud to accept that role. You look at the carpet (you can't look at him) and nod. He will leave you again someday, when he does find normal, but for now? This is enough. This is still more than you ever thought you'd have. More than you deserve.
Sam throws back the covers. He is still very, very naked. Bruised from the hunt, and bruised from what happened after the hunt. (And so goddamn beautiful. He doesn't even know.) He gets out of bed and sits next to you. Not touching, but close enough that you can feel the warmth radiating off him. When you do finally force yourself to look at him, he smiles at you again, that fond smile that stabs you right through the heart. You would give anything to have him sitting next to you, smiling that smile at you, for the rest of your life.
"You know," he says, "all those years I spent chasing normal, it was because I didn't think I could have what I really wanted. This, Dean. You and me. This is what I want. I wouldn't trade it for normal. I wouldn't trade it for anything."
If that's true. Oh God, if that's true.
"So," he continues, "maybe we just appreciate it. Maybe we hold onto it. I mean. Only if you want to."
Only if you want to. Like there's anything you want more. Sam is offering you all you've ever wanted, and all you have to do is reach out and take it.
You've lost the ability to speak, but whatever words you came up with would surely fuck it all up anyway. You take his hand and entwine his fingers in your own. He squeezes. You squeeze back. It's just one more in an endless history of wordless conversations, but it's the most important one you've ever had. You both sit there quietly for a minute, and you are very aware that you are wrapped in a towel and he is naked and you're holding hands and… it's not weird. It's okay. It's better than okay.
"You know," he says, "the most disturbing thing about all of this is that you just admitted you read Flowers in the Attic."
You have to clear your throat before you can answer. "It was a book? I saw the movie on TV once, when I couldn't sleep."
It's a lie. He knows it's a lie. He was there with you, that awful winter in Nebraska, when Dad dumped you at that weird old house for a couple of weeks and the only thing to do was pick through the pile of ragged paperbacks some teenage girl left behind. He knows you read it. He doesn't know you got to the incest scene and tossed the book away, no, no, I would never do that to him. I would never. He doesn't know you picked it up again, later, hoping it had a happy ending.
He knows you're a liar. He knows you're twisted and wrong. He loves you anyway. And maybe you don't deserve it, but you'll take it anyway, and hold onto it for as long as you can.
Part 2: Sam
Something about almost losing Dean puts everything into perspective. And yes, you almost died too, but it's hard to see your own death as comparable. Dean's near-death is what matters, the thing that paints everything in stark black and white.
There's no time to talk, no time to wonder, no time to check each other for injuries and try to figure out how you escaped this time. He shoves you into the Impala and speeds away from the scene, and you stare at his (beautiful) profile and think I can't do this any more, I can't die and not tell you how I feel, I can't let you die without knowing what you mean to me, I can't do it, I won't.
But it's not the first time you've told yourself that, or the second or third. And you know you'll fail, in the end, as you always have. Except. Except that when you finally make it into the room you're both still a little panicky, still having a hard time catching your breath, hearts pounding, and he says are you hurt, are you hurt as he paws at you, and then holds you tight and won't let go (you don't want him to, oh God you don't want him to) and you grab him, hold him just as tight and this is it, this is the moment, use your words, dammit, but all you can do is keep repeating his name like an idiot and you finally just kiss him and it turns out neither of you needs words after all.
. . .
Dean's hasty exit wakes you, and your heart leaps panicky into your throat for a minute. You fucked it up, he's running; all those years you held your feelings in check and now you've fucked it up and he's running. But he simply rushes into the bathroom and turns on the shower. He showers for a long time, which gives you time to think about what to say. Because you know he's going to be freaked out. You know he's going to say this is wrong, this is bad, we can't do this again. But there is no going back now; you can only go forward. You salted and burned just brothers last night. The only option now is brothers plus whatever this is. You'll have to make your way through whatever objections he has.
When he finally comes back into the room, every speck of his normal bravado is gone. He looks frightened and guilty (and beautiful, so damn beautiful, with the morning sun peeping through the flimsy curtains highlighting him in gold, picking out each eyelash as if God himself were directing it) and your heart melts like it always does. You are so fucked.
He clutches the towel wrapped around his hips tightly, and you're pretty sure the only reason he hasn't already put three layers of clothing between you and him is because in his hurry to get into the the shower he didn't take time to grab his armor. So, yeah. He's freaked out. It's okay. You'll talk him down (there is no choice, there is no other option) and it will be okay.
But it turns out you are not at all prepared for what his real objection is. Not at all.
You could tell him the truth. Yes, you made me want you. Just by being you. By being beautiful and brave and smart and funny and strong and exasperating. You made me love you in a way you are not supposed to love a brother, just by being you.
Or another truth is this. You think you were grooming me? When I was thirteen? When I was a gangly, clumsy, morose little barely-a-teenager? Because that's when it started, Dean. It wasn't anything you did. You weren't grooming me, you were busy chasing anything in a skirt. I had just turned thirteen years old and all I wanted was you.
But there is another very important truth, which is that you're both kind of irreparably fucked up. And this is possibly a silver lining to that. The fact that you're fucked up the same way, together.
"I'm not saying it's normal," you tell him. “You and me, this is definitely not normal. But we left normal behind a long time ago. We were never gonna have that. And this is something we do get to have." He has to see that, right? He has to understand that you two cannot measure yourselves by other peoples' yardsticks.
His reaction is to withdraw a little bit. Does he not believe you? Can he not tell, even now, that you love him so much it burns? You have no choice. There is no going back. You get out of bed and sit next to him. "You know, all those years I spent chasing normal, it was because I didn't think I could have what I really wanted. This, Dean. You and me. This is what I want. I wouldn't trade it for normal. I wouldn't trade it for anything. So, maybe we just appreciate it. Maybe we hold onto it. I mean. Only if you want to."
You gave him an out. You pray he doesn't take it. He doesn't. Thank God (or no, probably not God), he doesn't. You sit next to him, naked as the day you were born, and he doesn't flinch, doesn't lean away, doesn't say no, Sam, this is weird, this is bad, this is wrong. He just looks up at you like he's dumbfounded, but in a good way. And then he takes your hand. He's clasped your hand thousands of times, shepherding you across busy streets as a child, hauling you out of freshly dug graves as an adult. But this is the first time he's actually held your hand, and it feels like something greater; like a vow.
You need to change the subject pretty quickly, before you make a goddamn fool of yourself.
"You know, the most disturbing thing about all of this is that you just admitted you read Flowers in the Attic."
Dean's voice is hoarse. "It was a book? I saw the movie on TV once, when I couldn't sleep."
It's a lie. You know it's a lie. You made sure he saw you reading it, and you watched him pick it up after you were done. You had a thousand imaginary conversations where he said what did you think about that book and you said siblings locked in an attic for years, all they had was each other, it makes sense that their relationship would transform into something else, it wasn't hurting anybody, and after all, incest is only taboo because of the risk of birth defects, and many civilizations actually encouraged marriage between siblings, it's not really a big deal, and he said exactly, especially in a situation like that where they're literally in their own little world, and I've been thinking, and then and then and then.
None of that happened. What happened was he turned 18 and then 19 and then 20 and grew more and more maddeningly insane and reckless and beautiful and you realized that either he was going to die, or he was going to keep breathing but remain forever out of your reach, and either way you couldn't live like this any more.
But now he's sitting on the bed next to you, almost as naked as you are, holding your hand.
"You want to get some breakfast?" he says.
"I would love some breakfast. Let me shower first."
He gently swats you on the back of the head. "Go on then, Princess. Wash your pretty pretty hair."
The knot of fear that's been squirming in your stomach since you woke up quietly unclenches. And for the first time in a very long time, you think everything might be okay after all.
