Ahhhh im FINALLY finished with this!!! (Click for better quality!!)
I actually started drawing this for @phmonth2021’s vnc countdown, day 1: Vanitas.
But uhhh…I neglected to remember that I take actual weeks to finish art and should not have started it mere days before 😅
Here’s the image it’s a redraw from (from ch 51):

(Ummm so apparently I never posted this?!!?! I meant to post it forever ago…)
Well, anywho, here is the word version of my Ray drawing!! (And a couple extra shots to show the drippy silver gasoline).
The words are “Goodbye Emma.”
I ultimately chose this scene to redraw because I loved how striking the orange in his eyes was. I like and am proud of my colored pencil version, but I didn’t think it quite captured what I was going for. I’m uhh, honestly not sure this does either but I like it much more in that regard. I think the contrast is much more striking, and I’m proud of it, at least.

Ray: colored pencil version!! 🥳 I took some shots at different angles to show the silver for the drippy gasoline too!!
I’m honestly super proud of what I accomplished here!! Doing all this freehand and then playing with the shading anc colors was a bit outside my comfort zone...but I really like how it turned out!!
I also did a version with words that I’ll post later!!

It’s a Ray!!
I really liked the way they played with color in this scene and really want to see if I can do something cool with the blues and oranges when I color it!!
It’s all freehand!!
I hope you guys like it too!! Color versions to come!!
Here’s the original:

Agreed!!! Yes, very much so!!!
Thanks so much for your kind response!!! 🥺😘💜💜💜
Heya! I just wanted to just say thank you so much for reblogging my Lore Olympus fanart!! (My art blog is antihero-art) I don’t usually get very many notes, and I really appreciate it!! 😘💕 (you don’t have to answer this if you don’t want, I just wanted to share my thanks, and, well, you don’t have dms open, haha!)
Good art should be more appreciated tbh. So likes and follows are important to artists. Why not? ❤️

Here’s my attempt at redrawing the “hello Apollo” scene from Lore Olympus! (Original picture below the cut!)
For someone who has only just started drawing people, I think I did alright!!
I used prismacolor colored pencils, and some pens for details.
Pros: I was really happy with the gold in her hair!! (I tried to change the angle a few times to capture it!)
Cons: I thought I’d be able to draw the brick on the light blue part in white gel pen like I usually do...apparently not. So I’m a bit disappointed there, I think it looks a bit incomplete without it.
I think I might color in more of the white space around her, I thought it’d look better cropped than it does XD But currently I’ve spent too much time on it so I wanted to post for now!
I really hope you enjoy it! I’d love a reblog and/or a comment if you did!!

Zentangle bag! Made it along with the apron for my young friend’s birthday!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What do you think?
Once again, if I started an etsy shop and sold stuff like this, would you be interested in buying?
More info and my own pros and cons below the cut!
I wanted to try my normal “make a string and fill it” on one side, and then just do patterns without a string on the other.
I both love it and hate it.
I think for the most part it turned out really amazing!! Especially the pattern at the top of both, and the right of pic 2 (I’ve tried it before but finally got it right this time!) as well as the bottom. I really like the way it allows you to do borders and make them look nice.
...But I also feel like I ruined the side in pic 2 with a couple of the patterns (the almost bottom right and almost top left, both the patterns with a lot of black in them). I feel like it just made it look busy and disjointed.
And the bottom’s terrible...hence why I didn’t include pictures of it XD

More shoes!! Zentangle this time!!
I made these for my grandma last Christmas!! She loves zentangle and comfy shoes so it was a win win!!
I had so much fun with these, and they were much easier and faster than I thought they’d be!!
I’m actually thinking of setting up an Etsy shop where I sell stuff like this...would anyone be interested in buying stuff like this from me?

Fullmetal Alchemist!!! Hell yeah!!!
I was SO excited to post this one!!! (I’m actually rewatching FMAB right now, so this was perfect!!)
This is a screencap redraw of a certain shot from the episode 22 of Brotherhood: “Backs in the Distance”. It’s when Ed’s trying to get the gun from Winry, and telling her her hands weren’t meant to kill. I absolutely LOVED that episode, scene, dialogue, and shot, so I ended up drawing something for it!
More backstory behind this piece, and earlier drafts below the cut!!

Believe it or not, I did this for art class!!
The last project of our senior art class was just a fun throw-away project. Our teacher didn’t have time for a full unit before the seniors had to leave to do our senior projects, so she just had us make whatever we wanted, and as long as we were truly working on an art project, we got full marks!
At the time I was super obsessed with FMA(B) so of course that’s straight where my mind went XD I don’t know how I landed on this shot specifically, other than that I really liked the scene and the message behind it, as well as Ed and Winry’s relationship and it doesn’t show their faces so it’s easier to draw.
I’d never used prismacolor colored pencils before, so they were super fun, and I was astounded at how solid/cool the colors looked! I’m super glad I did this project in art class so my teacher could teach me how to use them, as well as just give me advice on how to make it better in general!
The only drawback from using the prismacolors, is I remember there was a problem with the grey. Either there was no grey, or it was tiny XD So either I had to demolish her grey, or use a different brand and try to make it look good...I can’t remember which, I think it was the former, haha!
I had a much bigger plan for this piece overall, but I ran out of time and ended up just finishing the colored pencil part. But here’s what I laid out in terms of plans:
Tumblr media
I wanted to surround the colored pencil piece in the middle with shots of Ed and Winry throughout the manga, like homage to their relationship. (in the center is an earlier colored pencil version that didn’t quite work out...I’m thinking i might have been trying to decide if I wanted to add the background to center piece or not.)
I don’t know why I didn’t end up finishing exactly. All I know is Senior Project consumed my life for the next couple weeks...and I guess I just kinda forgot, or lost momentum? It could also be that I realized the current, full colored pencil one is lopsided/oddly curved too. Currently I can’t find the manga clippings to finish now...I don’t know if I threw away the manga clippings I printed out...if I did I was either a complete idiot, or VERY stressed when I did it, because it took so much work to print those out and cut them.
There’s not a lot of cons with this one, mainly the fact that overall its lopsided/oddly curved, and Ed’s other hand is missing. But I think both can be overlooked??
I like this piece more than most of the works I’ve done. I think this was probably the moment I was like “Oh! I actually can draw people, at least to some extent!” so it was a really great confidence booster.
Let me know if you like it too!! And hey, if there’s another particular shot from FMAB you’d like me to redraw, let me know, and I’ll try my best!!

Shoe art!! Yes, you heard it hear first, folks!! It’s Mama’s Fish House on Maui...on a shoe!!
Backstory below the cut!!
This was another unit from senior year art class. I always saw these displayed outside the art room over the years and was very excited to do my own!!
I can’t remember what the prompt was exactly...I think you specifically had to do a place, and I think it had to be a place important to you, or that you had a fond memory of? It had something to do with shoes and traveling XD
So this is Mama’s Fish House in Hawaii, on a shoe!! My parents and I used to go to Maui every year around my mom’s birthday, and we would always go to mamas fish house to celebrate!! It’s expensive, but worth every penny!! Probably the best food I’ve ever had!! Splendid atmosphere and service too!!
I’m really proud of this one!! I do think it looks accurate, (I’ll add a photo of mamas fish house if I can find one XD), and it gives me fond memories to look at!! I was surprised it turned out so well considering what the canvas was XD I especially like the building and rocks in the sea!!
The only thing I’m a little disappointed with are the branches and greenery...I think they look kinda sloppy and underwhelming...but not too bad!
This was a very fun one!!

Hawaii kitty!! This was what I did for our impressionism unit in art class!!
(More backstory and pictures below the cut!)
Definitely one of my favorite pieces, both in looks and process!!
As far as I remember, this was completely done with the palette knife (I think I had a couple of different sizes), and I loved using it. It’s been a while since I did it so I can’t explain what i liked about it, other than that it was easy and smooth to use, and most importantly, it was easy to clean XD I just remember I was pretty much ready to exclusively use it after that unit, haha!
Pros: I’m more proud of that gradient in the water + the palm trees than I am of most things in life XD I don’t think you can truly see the way the water fades from more of a green to a darker blue in a picture, but it does!
Cons: I remember I had some trouble with the clouds around the moon, that I had to keep redoing it because the paint was drying before I could adequately get the blend I wanted. I also had some trouble with the window itself too...which I think is somewhat obvious XD I just couldn’t get the shading right.
I don’t think this is a really a pro or a con, but I wanted to do one of each plumeria variant around the kitty, (white, pink-white, and pink). But the bright pink just drew your eye too much, so I had to make them all white. But I liked how it looked so I took a picture before I fixed it!!:

Owl painting! This was from our bird painting unit in art class. Owls are my favorite birds so of course that’s what I chose!
I remember really enjoying all the little details on the face, and I still love how he looks!!
I loved the ombré so much on my apple painting I wanted to do it again for the sky here...not nearly as good results XD Not terrible though. I can’t remember if this is the one I had to keep redoing because I wasn’t moving on to the next color fast enough...
Only part of this I really don’t like is the branches. I remember I tried my hardest but just kept making them look worse, so I kinda had to give up on them. I rarely want to touch up old art but each time I look at it I want fix them XD Not that I necessarily could do a better job now...
Tumblr media
Earlier version of the face ^^ I think I just liked the way it looked so I wanted to capture it before I added more colors to it.

(Click for better quality! Also I find a picture of this that’s better quality in general I’ll edit it in XD)
Another early piece from art class. I think we were learning about shapes and shadows?
The assignment was to find cups/drinkware in our house that we thought represented the members of our family. The teacup is my mom, left one is my dad (it’s one of those Starbucks places mugs...I couldn’t find a great one for him), and the middle one is me XD
Still pretty proud of that teacup!!

This was the first painting I did in my high school art class. (She had us start simple to teach us shading and stuff.)
It probably doesn’t look that impressive, but I remember how happy I was at how it turned out, and that it actually looked like an apple XD. I was in love with the red-to-black background, and so proud I actually pulled it off...kinda still am!

My cards for the Jacksepticeye Card Exchange (@jsecardexchange) for 2018 and 2019 respectively.
(More backstory below the cut!)
I did the first one in like a day; I remember watching a christmas movie with my parents and vigorously working on it...Then I did the second one in like...a month and sent it out at an embarrassingly late date XD
As I did the second one I remembered the first one didn’t seem christmassy enough, and then I found it again and I was like “...Why would I ever use black in a christmas card?” XD I think it just didn’t cross my mind not to really. Plus, I was rushed, as mentioned so I wasn’t thinking super clearly.
I really like the second one though!! Of all the times I’ve used that pattern on the sides, I think this it’s my favorite. It’s interesting to see the subtle ways my art changes between the years.
The jsecardexchange has been such a source of light in my life these past few years. I was mentally in one of the worst places in my life during November/December 2018, and not being able to see any of my relatives for Christmas added greatly to that. Being able to receive cards and little nice messages from people on the internet was more helpful than I’ll ever be able to express. I really needed a little something to brighten my days during that time and it definitely accomplished that. I’m so grateful for it.
