Dense Greenery

I made this design for the Textured & Tonal Wallpaper contest by simply playing around with textures. I created several designs, but ultimately went with Dense Greenery because it reminded me of light filtering through the leaves of a tree. In an abstract style, of course.

I wanted to do something fun and simple for my first steam after being gone for almost a month, so I combined two of my favorite things: books and cats! I loved the resulting sketches so much that I turned them into full pieces. Thank you to my Twitch viewers for helping me come up with cat puns for the books!

Redwoods Revisited

So, this design was not made for the Forest Biome challenge, but I thought it was a good fit. Originally, I just wanted to update my redwood fabric- and I think I did a damn good job- but the timing worked out and I got a contest entry as well.

Sooo I totally forgot to post my Christmas tree for my annual tree decorating stream before I went on break. But better late than never!

Candy Woodcut Cats

I made this for the Block-Print Inspired challenge! The cats were my second attempt at a block print style- the first didn't really sell the look. I made four custom cat brushes and used them for several designs, but the simple cat stack here won out. In these colors, they kinda remind me of jellybeans!

Kaleidoscope Flowers

I wasn't planning on entering this challenge, but I was playing around with geometric patterns in Illustrator and decided to slap the color scheme on one of the designs. I liked it so much that I decided to enter anyways. Sometimes just mucking about with shapes will get you something cool.

Ghostly Love

So we had to design tea towels with a Pantone-approved palette. I was kind of at a loss for ideas, but I decided to do something spooky-themed since it is October.

After a lot of meandering, spooky-ish doodles, I drew a little ghost couple. And then another ghost couple. And another. And suddenly I had a FULL PAGE of ghost couples! I cleaned them up, put them in a proper pattern, and this design is the result!

Bats & Pomegranates

The theme for this week is Whimsigothic Wallpaper, and like. There was no way I wasn't going to enter. Whimsigoth is my THING. So after a lot of brainstorming, I decided to combine the ultimate Spooky Animal with the ultimate Spooky Fruit. And this is the result.

I really like how it turned out! I did have to restart the pomegranates a couple of times- I couldn't quite get the style right. It was frustrating, but the time spent redoing them was well spent- I think they look lovely now.
