Imagine you have a coworker who likes to bake. Every week, they bring in a batch of delicious, homemade cookies and leave them in the break room. Next to the plate of cookies is a sign, “If you like my cookies, could you please just leave me a note and tell me what you like about them? The more feedback you leave about what you like, the more incentive I have to bake.” A hundred coworkers walk by and take a cookie. One person leaves a note. “Great cookies! Bake some more soon!”

The next week, once again there are cookies in the break room with the same sign. Once again a hundred people take a cookie and only one person leaves a note. “Nice! More soon!”

Week Three- Once again, a hundred people take a cookie. No one leaves a note.

Week Four- One hundred people take a cookie. No note.

Week Five- There are no cookies. Someone leaves a note. “Where are the cookies? I loved them. Please, please bake some cookies.”

Week Six- There are no cookies. Ten people leave notes. “I miss your cookies. They were my favorites. I loved the chocolate chips. My friend really liked the way you had almonds in the cranberry ones.”

Week Seven- Motivated by the wonderful notes, the baking coworker stays up late to bake the best batch of cookies they have ever made. That week, a hundred people take a cookie. No one leaves a note. 

The co-worker gives up baking for their colleagues.

BTS reacting to their s/o staying the night for the first time

Here it is! I hope it’s what you wanted! Requested by anon

Jin would be the very picture of a gentleman. He would make sure you had everything you need, made sure the boys are on their best behaviour (and not walking around the dorm naked), making sure everything is just right. He would take the couch without a second thought, forcing his roommates to do the same so his s/o had the privacy of a room to themselves for the night. He wouldn’t try anything out of respect and a little out of wanting to put a good example out for the other guys and would be excited to think that your relationship has grown this much already.

Yoongi would be pretty calm about his s/o coming over for the night, even being the one to suggest it. He would warn everyone not to spook them but would be pretty lax about the entire thing. He would be excited to have them there, knowing that it was a big trust thing and that the relationship was evolving in all the good ways. He would kick out his roommates and have his s/o sleep in his bed with him which may lead to a lack of actually sleeping. He would enjoy the idea that one day this could be a daily occurrence (minus the other guys) and would sleep deeply with his s/o in his arms.

Another member to be absolutely stoked would be Hoseok. Just the idea that his s/o would be able to come to stay the night would be a dream come true. He would be one of the naughtier members, however, with wandering hands. He would get a kick out of having dinner with his s/o and group members at the table, his fingers climbing steadily higher on his s/o’s thigh. The night would definitely not be an innocent one with him.

While rather quiet about his excitement, Namjoon would really love the idea of his s/o staying the night with him. He would do everything in his power to make it a memorable experience, one that they will want to repeat, and will probably make a mess out of himself while doing so. Broken dishes, Jin yelling and a band-aid later, Namjoon would decide to make his s/o dinner was out of the question. He would make up for it later with his kisses and cuddles but would be worried that he messed up until his s/o told them that they were having a great time.

Cuddles. All of the cuddles. Taehyung would absolutely insist, arguing with Jin that they weren’t going to do anything nasty if his s/o was allowed to sleep in the same bed as him. He would be attached to their hip the entire evening; during a movie and video games, all the way into the morning. He would be one to laugh and play games, wanting to keep the atmosphere happy and light-hearted, that way his s/o would feel more than comfortable to come back and spend the night again anytime they wanted to.

Jimin would be pretty normal when his s/o came over for the night. He would be the right amount of gentlemanly mixed with flirty, throwing out his smile and touching a little low on his s/o’s back for it to be entirely innocent at the same time. He would also be one to sleep in the same bed as his s/o, but only after he offers to sleep on the couch for their comfort. He would sneak his s/o away every once in a while, around corners and behind bookshelves for a kiss here and there, but nothing too scandalous. After being caught by Hoseok the last time who walks by with a knowing smile and wink as he eats some food, that would stop before news spread to Jin.

Having his s/o would be the most difficult thing Jungkook has ever gone through in his life. He would be downright terrified to make the wrong move or say something that offended his s/o or have his underwear lying around somewhere. He would be fully aware of his group members watching him panic fondly, knowing what it feels like to be in love for the first time. He would not try anything weird and would be adamant about sleeping on the couch, but would calm down halfway through the night only for his anxiety to spike the closer to bedtime it gets. He wouldn’t be able to sleep well and would not want to do it again; he would, but not for a while yet, his poor heart can’t take it.
