Hello lovely!
I just saw your post and wanted to reach out with a little advice about publication if that's your intention. Nothing major, of course. I've barely gotten my own writing out there and it isn't exactly fabulous work. But I would just advise you not to go through Amazon KDP when you're ready to publish.
Self-publishing (if that's your route) isn't a bad idea, but Amazon specifically gave me a lot of pretty words and very little outcome, not to mention I put in way more money than I'm getting back. They're also being sketchy about royalties, specifically on audible (which thankfully I have not invested in). Obviously, this may not apply to your plans at all. You can ignore this entirely. I just wanted to give you a word of warning as a kindred new/young author.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. That’s likely the route I’ll go down (unless I get incredibly lucky with traditional but that seems next to impossible!) so that’s really good to know. Amazon seems like it’s the easiest route for self publishing, from what I’ve read so far, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised there’s a catch! There always is. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that! I’ll have to research some other routes out there. What’s the name of your book? I’m always on the look out for new books! And if I can help support independent authors all the better!😘😘

Finally started my own original novel, and I’m extremely excited about it! After writing fanfiction and getting so much amazing encouragement from my lovely commenters including a few who even said they’d love me to write my own story, I’m finally taking that plunge!
I’ve got a detailed character list (and meaning behind every name, backstory, etc), a rough map (not my strong suit! Haha) but I’ve got the kingdoms, cities, and the royal families and lords and ladies of every kingdom, the entire plot outlined, twists and turns and prophecies and mates set up.
What I need now is A. To keep writing it and B. I need an artist to create the characters pictures so I can stop using art from elsewhere as placeholders for my idea of what the main characters look like. I’m hoping the artist I want opens commissions again soon!🤞🏻
I’ll also need to find someone who can do art of dragons, if anyone knows someone!
For anyone interested, my novel is going to have the following:
Fae world with humans and other mythological creatures included
Magic
Royal families and court drama
Fated mates
Soulmarks
Human slavery
Rebellion
Enemies to allies to lovers
Lovers to enemies
Secret parentage
Infiltration
Wings
Shapeshifting
Celestial Kingdoms
Prophecy
Female lead
Male love interests (Kings and Princes and Humans, oh my!)
I honestly have no idea what to do once I’ve finished this as far as trying to get it out there. I’ll look into it more once it’s done. But I’ll update as I go!
