kageyama lived alone since some time in middle school and when the karasuno team found out he was practically alone All The Time, they started doing everything at his house- first years studying, team meetings where they have to watch videos of gameplay, team hangouts, sleepovers, and for hinata he just goes over literally Whenever. he just drops into kags’ house so much that at some point kags just has to hand him a key cuz hes tired of having to open the door for him Every Time

I HAVE SO MANY

jimmy and his wife got divorced when andy & ollie were 2 and jimmy jr was 7, doing the awkward ‘stay with dad for 4 days and mom for 3 days a week’ custody arrangement. the kids prefer their mom more but they like staying with their dad because they like wagstaff.

as self-involved as jimmy jr can be, he’s very protective of his brothers when no one’s around.

jimmy jr will read stories to the twins and cuddle them when their dad can’t (or doesn’t want to).

jimmy pesto and jimmy jr both suck at cooking. the kids end up eating prepared meals from their mom (who CAN cook) most days or snacking. trev sometimes cooks for them too.

andy and ollie also suck at cooking too, once nearly burning their kitchen down.

jimmy does truly love his kids, he just has a ‘tough love’ approach to his kids.

jimmy jr is ragingly insecure about himself due to how he believes he needs to live up to his fathers expectations.

jimmy jr hates his name because of this.

jimmy pesto is kind of a bigot but in an uneducated, internalized, mean spirited way. like he’ll be homophobic to get the upper hand but then fight off demons (bisexuality) in his sleep.

he also refuses to celebrate pride month until he sees that the belcher’s are getting more customers than him in june (and only june).

all of them go by nicknames. jimmy (and jimmy jr) are both james (and james jr) but they find that name more condescending and unwelcoming to customers. andy and ollie are andrew and oliver on their birth certificates, but have never really been referred to as such.

every year jimmy pesto’s like “ehh okay sure, love ya, now go away” to his kids on father’s day when the kids give him cards, yet he tears up when looking at the cards later.

andy and ollie look identical when they’re older but they both have wildly different aesthetics— like one gets into punk rock while the other gets into indie guitar.

jimmy jr has such an intense rebellious phase against his father which causes the biggest strain on their relationship for years.

jimmy jr is afraid of turning out like his father (he’s exactly like him unfortunately).

jimmy tucks the twins into bed every night, which turns in a whole 30 minute ordeal of him having to make up bad stories to tell them so they can let him go to bed. the twins know their fathers stories are awful yet they act interested because they want to spend time with him.

once a month the kids and jimmy spend a day doing whatever the kids wants— even if it’s a dance yoga class for jimmy jr. they also go golfing for jimmy. after the day, the kids run off with their new toys or whatever they bought and jimmy drinks himself to sleep.

jimmy jr’s birthday is the only day that jimmy doesn’t complain about his sons love of dancing.

jimmy’s hatred of his son’s dancing originates from his hatred of men ��emasculating’ themselves (misogyny and homophobia go hand in hand) and also because his son isn’t becoming a direct carbon copy of himself.

just realized these are at more angsty and not cute family headcanons like you probably wanted. my bad. i tried to make some of them cute but apparently i only think of angst for them 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.

every single person in bobs burgers is autistic.

-bob: anthropomorphizing utensils and food, not understanding social cues or jokes, savant syndrome, monotone voice, aversion to change (sweet potato fries)

-linda: singing everything (vocal stim), comfort objects (porcelain babies)

-gene: not understanding social cues, getting easily overstimulated (laser light show), musical stims (keyboard), rejection sensitive dysphoria

-tina: OBVIOUSLY autistic. vocal stims (“uuuuhhhhh” and “HA, HA, HA” when nervous), special interests (zombies, equestranauts, horses, jimmy jr), doesn’t get jokes unless they’re explained to her, hyperlexia

-louise: pathological demand avoidance, comfort object (ears), hangs around adults more than kids, doesn’t have many friends (idk if that’s an actual trait it’s just what i do and i am autistic)

-teddy: storytelling all the time even when others find it boring, doesn’t understand cues, has a strict routine (always eating at bob’s), hard time understanding relationship dynamics (thought he was bob’s best friend, bob thought otherwise), freaks out at small changes (no burger of the day, restaurant closed, etc)

camp camp fandom, i know we all think ered’s a lesbian— which is great, we love lesbian ered— but can I raise you this; aroace ered. everyone thinks she’s this super badass cool girl and they ask her for dating advice because she’s the oldest and probably has dated loads of people. she’s just like “yeah… just be chill and they’ll date you” while internally thinking ‘oh my god do you think they can tell that idk how to romance?’

alternatively (and im suggesting this entirely as a joke), consider straight ered but everyone thinks she’s some form of queer. she rants about a shitty ex boyfriend to nerris and nerris internally thinks ‘oh ered’s bisexual? or pan? good for her’ without much thought. or preston talks about throwing a camp camp pride pride parade during june and asks ered to participate in it, and she’s just like “okay…?? i guess i can be the straight ally flag??”

i dont actually headcanon ered as straight (i think she’s either aroace or lesbian) but i think it’s a funny concept.

random karasuno headcanons

daichi has never once had a break because of his four siblings, which is why he is so uptight and stressed. volleyball is the only place he can really relax (specifically w the other third years) and even then kageyama, hinata, noya, and tanaka are constantly testing him. he brought this up to ukai and takeda once and they both were like “have you ever went to therapy kid?" before they gave him info for a local therapist.

sugawara knows every kpop dance imaginable and forces his teammates to do them during their breaks. the only people who humor him and dance with him are hinata, noya, and tanaka sometimes. during a team sleepover, he convinced kageyama to do a dance with him, but kageyama is badly coordinated when dancing so it was horrible.

asahi knits when he’s anxious— which is all the time. he’s made a blanket for each teammate with their names on it and his bedroom is just piles of blankets at varying levels of complete. his dog appreciates the nest he can sleep in. he jokes that this is where his parents college fund has gone to. also knitting is what gets him into fashion because he jokingly knitted a bucket hat for noya and immediately wanted to make more— his room ended up having 30 bucket hats all over it and he had to give them away to his classmates and teammates.

kiyoko likes reading intense smutty romance books with a blank face. her expectations for romance are through the roof and she’s unashamed. suga has tried reading it over her shoulder and he’s walked away flustered. she reads a wide variety of books but specifically chooses the horniest and/or creepiest to read in front of the team. yachi’s shocked when she learns that kiyoko’s favorite genre isn’t dark romance and that it’s actually fluffy romance.

nishinoya made a fake tinder account of tsukishima with the worst photos imaginable (like tsukki mid-trip or him giving a disgusted face to kageyama). the bio says something like ‘i’m 6’1 if that matters and i think red heads should be killed.’ noya matches with the most amount of people and also updates with the worst opinions ever. people still get interested in ‘tsukki’ even when the bio has ridiculous takes and standards. noya is pissed that it is doing so well.

tanaka’s strangely good at dancing but horrific at singing. he tried to serenade kiyoko one day but his voice cracked so badly that he stopped mid-song and left the room. kiyoko laughed but patted his back in reassurance afterwards. the team never lets him live it down ever— the wedding speeches he received all mentioned the event somewhere. he has an excellent moonwalk and can occasionally successfully breakdance.

ennoshita writes fanfic (“story scripts”) about the team and changes the names. he gets the team to act as the characters in his films, which raises some questions when he writes a tragic story about ‘kai’ (a sarcastic asshole) being killed by his rivals ‘tora’ (a dumb asshole) and ‘shouto’ (a dumbass). he once posted a fanfic shipping two teammates (with name changes) and it got really popular.

kageyama uses 3-in-1 body wash/shampoo/conditioner. he says it’s because it’s efficient, and he gets no acne or sweat stench— this makes everyone hate him. he only changes when miwa comes back into his life after college and is horrified. he tells this story as a little joke whenever he wants people to be shocked and/or disgusted at him, even when he’s a pro.

hinata can cook but only because he has a sister and an overworked single mother. he cooks for himself and natsu often, but it’s really simple and uncreative meals because he would rather practice volleyball than work on making interesting dishes. after the time skip, his cooking skills have vastly improved and every meal he makes is some form of brazillian-japanese blend.

tsukishima had a major my little pony phase and is deeply secretive of it. he listens to the soundtrack often and has a drawer full of little collectibles. yamaguchi is the only one who knows about it, and tsukki compares himself to twilight and yamaguchi to fluttershy. he once almost said ‘everypony’ but yamaguchi screamed to cut him off. it went like: ‘stfu everyp-‘ ‘PISS’ ‘…what?’ ‘WE GOTTA PISS. both of us. right now.’

yamaguchi had a musical theater phase and forced tsukishima to sing along with him. he forced tsukki to dress up as michael to his jeremy one halloween. yamaguchi can only workout or study to musicals, which is deeply unfortunate. his favorite songs were helpless from hamilton and michael in the bathroom from be more chill. he tried to audition for school musicals multiple times but would end up having panic attacks and leaving before his audition.

yachi’s notes are the aesthetically color coordinated ones, even though her teachers talk rapidly fast. she’s always humble about it but she spends hours on them. she never has to study because she spends so much time rewriting them that the notes just stick in her brain. she’s had to recently laminate her completed notes because hinata once’s spilled broth onto her notes, which made her cry.

linda belcher headcanons

she has at least a dozen different pairs of fluffy colorful slippers. they’re all different animals— like purple elephants and green cats— and bob buys them for her every time he goes out of town to some small business. he bought the first pair for their anniversary one year and now he buys them whenever he can.

linda gets genuinely upset every time bob makes a comment about her being out of his league (i hc that bob is or at least was incredibly insecure about relationship stuff) because she genuinely doesn’t see it that way. she dated hugo after all. like, yes she recognizes that she’s more social, has more friends, and has dated more people than bob— but she considers that having to do more with their social energy levels and personalities than any fault or flaw of bobs. that’s why everyone is so unfazed when she says “genes my favorite!” cuz they know it’s only temporary in a sense.

i know she canonically calls gene her favorite in gene it on, but i think she genuinely doesn’t have favorites. or that one day tina will be her favorite than another day it’s gene and then louise. it’s always changing because she’ll remember details about her kids that makes her remember what she loves about them.

between the birth of gene and louise, linda had to get a night job as cleaning duty or something to maintain their living style. linda would get home two hours before bob would wake up, so they would barely ever see each other awake, so bob started leaving cute sticky notes around the house for her to find. that’s how they communicated for four months before linda had enough money to quit.

linda’s camera (albeit low quality due to being a flip phone) is filled with photos of the kids, bob, her friends (ginger, gretchen, etc.), and also pretty flowers and food items she wants to someday try. she also has one really ugly photo of jimmy pesto in there somewhere.

- when bob was irritated at linda and the kids for not taking their rent issue seriously, yet immediately standing up for his kids and fighting jimmy pesto when he calls their kids freaky (s1e10).

- when louise, who was trying to do voodoo earlier, bites off the head of the jimmy pesto voodoo potato to support her dad in his fight (s1e10).

- when bob pretended to rob his own restaurant and made up a shitty song to sing with linda because he knew the plot line to her horror show was important to her (s1e5).

- when bob, drunkenly and without pants on, goes back to jimmy pesto’s restaurant to live out linda’s jamaican honeymoon fantasy (s1e11).

- when bob shaved his mustache for tina to have jimmy jr. at her birthday even though it meant humiliation to jimmy pesto. also just bob working an extra job to give tina a good birthday party (s1e6).

- when gene and louise came up with that plan to switch backpacks so tammy didn’t read tina’s friend-fiction to the whole school (s2e8).

- gene and tina covering for louise when she went to follow logan until he gave her ears back (s3e1).

- bob firing the kids because he wants them to have the good childhood that he never got. (s3e3).

the belcher family headcanons

(i just started rewatching the show. i haven’t seen past s6 so don’t spoil too important things. but i’ve also seen lots of clips from later episodes, some full later episodes, and the movie).

they are all autistic; with tina, gene, and linda being the most obvious while bob and louise being less obvious. linda’s diagnosed while bob isn’t (he’s in denial of even being autistic), and they’re working on getting their kids diagnosed (though they cannot afford it, so it’s not a priority for them).

bob doesn’t believe he’s autistic (internalized ableism) but he is acutely aware that there is something ‘wrong’/‘off’/different about himself from others. both bob and tina share that same insecurity that everyone else can tell that they don’t quite belong.

this is based off of one line from an episode, but while gene loves doing filthy things (eating tacos on toilet, eating mold, etc.), he cannot stand the sweatiness of hands or the feel of his bare feet on the floor. he washes his hands consistently and he always wears socks. linda carries baby wipes, hand sanitizer, and extra socks for gene in her purse because of one really bad experience.

one of the belcher parents is hispanic. i’m saying bob because gayle gives off eccentric white woman energy. but gene learns all the spanish inappropriate words and bobs like “gene i don’t even know spanish what-”

tina ends up starting an elaborate friend-fiction and fan fiction business in her school. she makes a lot of money writing romantic hypotheticals for her classmates. louise becomes her sales manager (and gets andy and ollie to make fanart for the fics) and gene makes little jingles for them as well.

gene gets dizzy when he watches fireworks for too long due to his sensitivity towards bright, flashing lights. the forth of july and new years eve are difficult for him because he loves the celebration aspect, but has to go inside to prevent himself from panicking. usually bob goes inside afterwards to talk to him and calm him down since bob used to act similar as a kid.

tina and linda both do the dinosaur arms, and linda, gene, and louise do the hand flaps and happy claps. louise and bob both chew on their shirts when they’re stressed (and then immediately changing their shirts because wrinkly, wet t-shirt is an uncomfortable feeling/texture).

this one is based off of a convention panel, but louise is really good at math but doesn’t apply herself at all because she thinks school is pointless. either that or she is really good at learning languages and that she can speak spanish, french, russian, german, swedish, portugeuse, and japanese— all at varying levels of fluency and all learned during different time periods of her life.

^^also based on that same convention, but tina learns taichi martial arts because she thinks it’s cool. she originally does it because of the cute instructor, but then she realizes how nice of an outlet it is.

linda’s the only straight, non-LGBT+ belcher (or is she??) and she is very much like “aww my little babies going to their first pride! love is love, alright!” like the lovable, just cringy, supportive parents are. when the kids come out, none of them know the proper terminology. it’s like: “i’m not a boy! or a girl! i am everything! i’m collecting all of the pronouns like pokemon” or “i would very much like to date multiple people, that way i can admire all the butts.”

during pride month, bob puts up a little bisexual flag as a partial coming out, a partial way to create a safe space, and a partial rainbow capitalist move (something something mr. fischoeder threatens to raise their rent, and the belchers need a break financially), and he tells the kids to get business for the restaurant— the kids interpret that as: gene makes a really bad song like “boys are hot, i like them. gay people. love is love. buy our burgers cuz the gays are great and we support them very much” (or basically that one tiktok audio that goes “fortnite, balls, i’m gay, i like boys, i kidnap autistic kids”), tina puts posters up around school that say “buy one bob’s burger dish, get homosexual validation from an adult who supports gay youth” (which confuses bob when a bunch of children buy burgers and then rub their snotty noses into his apron and suffocate him while muttering “i haven’t had a parental hug in years”), and louise guilt trips and gaslights the elderly into buying from the restaurant or else they’re homophobic assholes (some of them openly are homophobic, to which louise purposely shoves/trips them in response).

^^bob ends up scolding the kids but they make a huge profit. the kids also didn’t technically say anything that wasn’t really true (except for louise but yk). bob pawns the comforting children to linda, who hugs and validates the children while bob grills.

tina definitely watches those magical girl animes like sailor moon. gene watches cartoons and slice of life anime. louise watches studio ghibli movies religiously and her favorite is my neighbor totoro (that green night light thing (kuchi kopi) is def based off of totoro). she also loves death note and definitely supports light and/or L to an uncomfortable degree.

tina is a massive taylor swift fan. her favorite album is fearless and her favorite songs are fifteen, hey stephen, love story, and white horse. she knows all of the lore and will make random references like “this is why you don’t miss someone’s birthday. have you even heard all too well? the moment I knew?” she compares jimmy jr. to romeo in love story and stephen in hey stephen even though she has no competition for him. she’s definitely dramatically slid down her door screaming the lyrics to enchanted before. (jimmy jr. would probably like john mayers music b/c of his dad, and that is tina’s biggest ick about him).

gene vaguely likes red and 1989 (specially sparks fly, new romantics, bejeweled, and starlight) and louise says her favorite album is reputation but it’s actually folklore (specially i did something bad, the last great american dynasty, karma, and peace).

they used to have a christmas tradition for the kids where they can get whatever they can carry in their arms. they stopped doing this after one year where all the kids got the most expensive items ever for no reason.

gene is a zodiac kid who definitely says “venus is in retrograde” and “you’re such a gemini.” louise always makes comments like “of course you’re one of those star losers.” he’s also like “tina, you’re a libra and jimmy jr. is a leo— that’s completely incompatible. the stars don’t lie!”

in a comic it mentions that tina has blue eyes, and the show mentions gene and bob having brown eyes, so i think linda has blue eyes and louise has brown eyes.

gene had a horrific musical theater phase. he learned burn and candy store on his keyboard. in high school he signs up for the theater program. he was one of the few amab people who signed up, so he got a fair amount of leading roles.

the kids full names are: tina ruth belcher, eugene nicholas belcher, and louise ann belcher.

gene doesn’t go to college, instead he pulls a bo burnham (minus the bigotry) and performs musical comedy.

louise takes online college courses to become a business major with a minor in culinary arts so she could run the restaurant.

tina goes to college to become an author. she writes both smutty romance books (pen name is dina capulet maybe?) and childrens pony books (real name of tina belcher) but by different names.

not belcher specific, but their town is the most neurodivergent town in existence: all five of the belchers, teddy, gayle, courtney, jimmy jr, zeke, andy and ollie, just to name a few.

belcher birthday headcanons

this was going to go in my general belcher headcanon post that im making but it was far too specific and long so here’s a separate one.

okay, so the first episode of the show is on september 3rd because it’s bob & linda’s wedding anniversary, and tina’s birthday is 5ish episodes later, so it’s easy to assume that tina was born in fall (somewhere between september and november).

so tina’s either: a virgo, or libra, scorpio, or sagittarius. due to how the first thanksgiving episode in the show is the beginning of s3, my assumption is that tina was born at the beginning or middle of september, making her a virgo (or perhaps she’s a september libra).

virgo’s are typically rational, practical, logical, and systematic in their attitudes. they are consistent and diligent, but have issues regarding their standards. they are gentle, kind, loving, and have a habit of fixing what’s broken due to their hardworking and committed nature— this describes tina. she tends to be the voice of reason in situations disregarding her love life, where she uses her determination and commitment to achieve her romantic dreams (albeit unrealistic). although, when looking at the libra definition (see linda’s section), a lot of the traits could also define her.

linda’s birthday episode is 6ish episodes before a halloween episode, so linda is definitely a libra with either a late september or an early/mid-october birthday.

taurus bob and libra linda works well because taurus and libra are highly compatible with one another. in relationships, both signs avoid conflict and work together. these signs are also both good at parenting.

neither gene or louise have birthday episodes indicating what month they were born in, so now these ones are purely based on vibes and zodiac descriptions.

norma’s family -> her father is dead, her mother is the most supportive mother alive, and her older sister (in graphic novel she has a sister) has a general distaste for her. her sister makes passive aggressive comments about norma’s (autistic) behavior— not noticeable enough to be considered bigotry but not unnoticeable. her mother, ever the one to avoid conflict, says that her sisters just angry at xyz factors. norma never really sees her sister due to working at phoenix parks, school, and her sister being in college.

log’s family -> his mother is unaware that she’s homophobic. like she’ll say something like “who’s the man in the relationship” without realizing the response will be “both of us.” that’s the main reason he hasn’t come out to her yet. his sister is 100% an ally who squealed when she learned. she was like “oh my god that makes so much sense. that’s why you seemed bored whenever I tried to set you up on a date with a girl!” his parents are divorced so he hasn’t seen his father in years.

badyah’s family -> her family in general just doesn’t really care for lgbt+ things because it’s never really affected them until now. badyah has to make a whole slideshow presentation for her family describing what aro ace is and what that means for her future. her family is like “okay…? just say ur going to be single forever w no kids?” to her, which isn’t entirely accurate for some aroace people, but badyah’s like “… close enough!”

zagan and norma in fact don’t end up dating because norma doesn’t jump from crush to crush easily, and she doesn’t get romantic feelings (at most zagan is a rejection rebound). they do become friends though who shit talk the angels.

aoba johsai pet headcanons

oikawa literally begged his parents for a pet bird when he was in middle school, even though he’s rarely home to take care of it (his parents take care of it). the bird is called tweety and oikawa’s private snapchat story (tooru’s hoes; has all of aoba johsei’s team and many of his volleyball rivals) has tons of videos of him making fake retro/beatboxing/2016 youtube channel intro noises while spinning his phone around his bird. the birds like “…🧍🐥🐦🦜 what is this giant creature doing.”

iwaizumi had a bulldog who he defends with the world. the dog will literally try to eat oikawa, forcing that poor man to climb a tree while screaming, and iwaizumi will be like “oh he don’t bite. he’s chill don’t worry.” the worst part is that the bulldog loves everyone else on the team but hates oikawa. oikawa uses it as a sign that either he’s too sexy for every being on the planet that the universe sent him a mere pet in spite of him or that aliens are real and sent this demon dog as a way to lure him away.

matsukawa has three pet fish; one for himself and the other two for his siblings. their names are, respectively; titty, princess sparkles, and sharknado. he’s disappointed that his siblings didn’t get the memo. he often spends his time wrestling with iwaizumi’s dog because of this. whenever the others brag about their adorable pets, he says ‘well at least i have a clean car that I can drive’ to shut them up. iwaizumi and hanamaki always respond with ‘well fair enough’ while oikawa glitches out of existence like ‘we- you can’t just- that’s not fai- i have volleyball!’

hanamaki has an orange cat that never gives him a break. the cat will hide inside the couch until hanamaki’s mid-breakdown searching for it while thinking it died or ran away. the cat has purposely shat on his laptop multiple times. his teachers are tired of the excuse ‘my cat destroyed my homework/laptop, so I didn’t finish the work’ but it’s always true. the cat has also clawed up $200 shoes before. hanamaki’s private snapchat story (‘satan’s furry little shitbag’) where it’s just him recording what his cat has done with the caption of ‘orange cat tings’ or ‘bruh ur scaring da hoes’ or something similar.

kyoutani has two dogs (as previously mentioned), and they’re both the sweetest pets in the world. he unexpectedly gets hit on a lot because he looks less threatening with two happy dogs dragging him along, and he has to awkwardly reject people while trying to play fetch with his dogs. multiples times he’s sat down in front of his dogs like ‘listen here guys. you are actively destroying my reputation. i need you to be mean, cold hearted, and ruthless from now on, okay?” and the dogs will just have these dumb, happy looks on their face while panting, and then lick his face. he responds by sighing and then cuddle/wrestling his dogs because they are the most important thing to him.

watari has an elaborate hamster set up for his four hamsters. it takes up a whole wall of his bedroom and there’s this whole wheel and upwards maze for them. he’s incredibly precise when he cleans the cage and feeds them. he brags about it often, and makes sure he has a hamster on his head or in his lap whenever he video calls someone. their names are turbo, milk, porkchop, and sticky. he let a random english word generator name them and then didn’t put any extra thought into it.

yahaba has that crusty white dog that’s prim and proper. he regularly washes it and feeds it, even though he’s upset that his dog started to hate him after he dyed his hair. he’s been like ‘even though my hair isn’t white, i’m still me! don’t hate me now!’ whenever he has to wash his dog. his dog also has separation anxiety so yahaba wakes up most mornings with his dogs ass in his face became the dog refuses to sleep anywhere that isn’t touching her owner (even after yahaba spent the money and put the effort into making a literally royalty passage/mini bedroom for his dog to sleep comfortably (yahaba now just throws his shoes onto it because he’s accepted that his dog will never sleep on it)).

kindaichi has no pets so he often visits this giant aquarium near his house. he’s gone so often that, more often than not, they let him in for free because they know all he’s going to do is stare at the dolphins for an hour and then try to over compensation financially for it. he’s gone so frequently that he’s been allowed to meet the dolphins in person and pet them. the dolphins adore him because his hairstyle reminds them of their fin. the employees see how sad he gets when he sits by the dolphins, so they started actively tutoring him on how to take care of them, in hopes that he’ll work a part time job there.

kunimi also has no pets, but he’s fine with that because he hates doing any form of work and also hates messes. though he does appreciate sitting in parks and watching squirrels run around because it brings him peace. he started internally naming all of them after his teammates after a while. out of the team, he favors yahabas crusty white dog the most because the dog loves attention and is fluffy, though he would never admit that out loud.

dipper and mabel: piedmont life

also this is borderline a fanfic but i have no motivation or peer pressure to actually write one. also warning there are OC’s in this post. this is potentially part 1 of a series?

both of them are autistic but in different ways. dipper is a “i am so insecure of my place in the world that I can immediately notice when there’s a dip in a conversation because of me” who would rather be alone then face social rejection. mabel is a “i think im really good with people because i am so unaware of social cues that i think everyone is being nice to me” who learned how to tell fake vs true niceness.

neither of them were diagnosed as kids, and how they both figured out was due to mabel helping the disabled classroom at her school and noticing similar habits and thought process from them. then dipper did research and they were like “oh okay that makes sense.”

in their sophomore year of high school, they both had identity crisis’ but in different ways: dipper became an overly cocky ‘too cool for anyone’ loner while mabel had a raging emo phase. both of them became deeply embarrassed of those phases the second they got out of them.

in their 8th grade english class, they did a duo project where they explained their entire summer (the prompt was to tell a fantasy three act story). dipper did the reading while mabel did the visuals (aka one of those pop up books but bigger and with her sound effects). their teacher asked them where their vivid imaginations came from and they told some excuse about being bored all summer.

their parents (who i am naming ingrid and robert) are (rightfully) pissed and confused when their kids start showing major symptoms of ptsd and depression. stan has literally no excuse for it and the twins keep dodging the questions.

ingrid is a anxious, stuck up mother who prioritizes education while robert is the relaxed father who expects the world but refuses to give help or support. let’s just say the twins don’t stay home as much. especially after the disaster the first week at home was when the twins brought waddles home.

after the summer, mabel gets into the trivia club and also tries out the science/engineering/robotics club (she also plays soccer, golf, and volleyball). her arts and crafts skills become incredibly useful when making a wooden structure with the purpose of finding the exact angle and falling distance for a marble. meanwhile dipper decides to try out for both track and football (he’s also in photography club and the school newspaper). dipper is the weakest member on the football team, but he’s the quickest runningback they’ve ever had, so the team doesn’t bully him too much for it. he’s consistently in the top 5 for his school during track.

mabel’s first high school friend is a black girl in her robotics club named aubrey. aubrey has adhd and has basically the same hobbies as mabel (i.e: karaoke, shopping, dancing, art). her second friend she meets at theater auditions (for the school musical, into the woods) where mabel watches her do a 10/10 audition performance and compliments her. she is south asian and named kamini, and her interests consist of theater, soccer, and english. her third friend ends up being the emo loner boy that she talks to on the first day. he’s latino and his name is dante. his hobbies consist of skateboarding, karaoke, and video games.

dipper’s first friend ends up being the younger brother of the football team captain, which is what makes the team stop bullying him. his friend is this kind of egotistical, yet himbo nerd of a dude named ethan— who’s a white boy with blond hair and freckles. ethan is interested in soccer and track as well as trivia, and they met during orientation week when they were the only two kids being ignored for the track club. dipper’s second friend comes from his ap english class, where he watched them cuss out someone for trying to harass a girl in the class. they’re asian and non binary and they go by paine. they like chess, english, and dnd, which is why dipper gets along with them so well.

dipper is able to convince ethan and paine to start a dnd session together, with dipper as dungeon master.

mabel eventually forces dipper into joining the program and dipper agrees to be backstage crew. it works out fine until they realize that their play has an unusually low tryout for men so mabel begs him to tryout for a lead role. he gets it because the programs desperate. he ends up playing either percy or grover in the lightning thief, and mabel gets casted as clarisse/katie/etc.

mabel loves taylor swift (specifically red, 1989, and lover) and also doja cat. she dabbles in ariana grande and marina from time to time as well. dipper has nightmares when he hears mabel, aubrey, and dante singing karaoke for first time.

dipper listens to cavetown and mitski mainly before paine and ethan lightly bully him into listening to the arctic monkeys and gorillaz. he creates aesthetic playlists for when he’s monster/creature hunting. neither of his friends believe him when he describes super natural things until (on two separate occasions) he shows them videos of gravity falls shenanigans and when they run into anomalies in piedmont.

mabel ends up getting a crush on ethan and then dipper has that tragic disaster to deal with.

dipper gets a minor crush on kamini before he learns that she views him as this cute little thing to watch but not dateable.

due to dipper’s boost in confidence, girls notice him and try to ask him out. he gets really flustered and confused, especially when girls who bullied him suddenly want to be with him. he rejects them all.

mabel realizes she’s bisexual when she gets a crush on aubrey and has a mental breakdown about it. she confesses, aubrey says that she doesn’t like the concept of dating at all, mabel takes the rejection decently, and they continue being the best of friends.

mabel gets jokingly asked out by a football boy and then dipper gets so pissed off he punches the dude in the face (mabel had no time to react, because if she did, she would’ve also joined the fight). a fist fight ensues, they both get suspended, and no one messes with mabel ever again.

mabel ends up befriending nearly everyone due to how kind and considerate she is. even girls who hated her from middle school soften because of her. she is a god.

most people are neutral towards dipper due to how he doesn’t really initiate social interactions, but that’s how he likes it.

dipper is an avid buzzfeed unsolved fan while mabel watches danny gonzales, drew goodman, etc.

dipper is trans. he realized he was trans when he was like 8, and he’s been a boy since. he was mainly bullied for being trans, but ever since he got confident, learned how to kick ass, and started taking testosterone, people have left him alone. also his name ‘mason,’ he specifically chose to appease his parents (who wanted two twins with ‘m’ starting names that had 5 letters each), but he goes by dipper because that’s the name he would’ve actually chosen.

the twins have separate rooms at their parents house, but they keep accidentally passing out on each other’s floors (or on mabel’s beanbag, or at dipper’s desk). their parents ask why all of a sudden and the twins say they just got closer over the summer. they would never admit it’s because sleeping in the same room as someone who experienced the same trauma is relieving.

mabel constantly calls grenda and candy, reassuring them that while she also loves aubrey and kamini, that her gravity falls friends will always be her favorites.

robert’s favorite child is mabel because, although he has unfair expectations of them, he gives mabel excuses because she’s more art and people focused, while he’s overly harsh on dipper. ingrid’s favorite is dipper because he also likes puzzles, board games, and higher education, while she looks down upon mabel for being childish and irresponsible.

dipper refuses to give any explanation for having wendy’s hat instead of a normal cap. theories range from ‘he has a girlfriend’ to ‘he murdered a man for it.’ he also cried when a bully threw it in the trash once.

the twins have a bet for whoever becomes the tallest by the time they enter the mystery shack the next summer: whoever’s taller gets to pawn their summer chores off onto the other one for the whole summer. mabel gets at least 8 hours of sleep a night to help herself (though her diet is wack) while dipper eats a lot of height-growing food items to help himself (though he’s never had a consistent sleep schedule in his life).

he likes collecting broken pieces of gaming equipment and buttons. he has boxes in the closet full of them and kuroo’s like “this is hoarding?”

he’s unfortunately a socks and sandals person. yamamoto gives him massive shit for it and kuroo defends kenma (only out of obligation and not out of agreeing with his choices).

kenma has a brown cat that spends 90% of the day sleeping and 10% of the day destroying his shit. kenma makes fake replicants of his gaming equipment so his cat can copy him.

when kuroo and bokuto introduced kenma and akaashi to one another, kuroo and bokuto were like “hey! ur lil guy is cool!” “so is yours!” the whole time kenma and akaashi had an in-depth conversation using just facial expressions.

although he knows that kuroo is his best friend and favorite person, whenever someone asks him, he’s like “shoyo obviously” for the purpose of making kuroo dramatically respond with “kennnmmmaaa you wound me >:(.” he’s a menace and finds it funny.

kuroo convinced him to join band in middle school. kuroo played the saxophone and kenma played the cello. it wasn’t great for either of them.

he is an only child with parents who weren’t emotionally or physically available. they are never home.

he often knits and crochets as a form of stress relief. daichi and suga used to jokingly make fun of him their first year before they realized how bad his anxiety is.

he hates watching movies because he hates how unpredictable they are. it makes him anxious watching horror movies and romance movies, and he typically likes watching nature documentaries.

osamu is the younger sibling and atsumu is the older sibling.

they’ve shared a room their whole life. atsumu has top bunk and osamu has bottom bunk.
