Dragon Hall hc please ?
Tumblr media
Harry Hook got kicked out of their shortly after Uma switched schools. Gil shortly followed. Dr. Facilier has never been more relieved because he HATED having to deal with all of Hooks kids at once (Harriet and Harry attended the school. CJ was enrolled but only showed up half the time. The other half, she's at the witch school with Zevon).
They have a dragon statue (because it's cool and also, they're terrified of Maleficent).
The graveyard is not as fake as some of the isle claims. Because, as other people have pointed out, the isle doesn't have a lot of free land and you bury the dead where you can.
Unfortunately, this does mean that some of Dragon Hall's former students and teachers have ended up buried there.
Many tombstones now have sayings on them rather than the names of the deceased. Because there has been some people trying to hide just how real the graveyard is.
The school colors are forest green and a purpleish-grey.
They follow the A-F grading system.
Very few of the students care about their grades at all. Yen Sid became a teacher there partially to help encourage students to get better grades.
If Dr. Facilier catches students skipping at his arcade or shop, they are temporarily banned and basically used as free labor to clean the school. This has reduced the kids skipping somewhat (but not completely. Some just got smarter at it).
The food isn't very great. Obviously.
It is VERY easy to get lost in the catacombs and dungeons.
As stated in the books, it is for all ages. Because of this, the other two schools were actually made (because no one is willing to teach all of the kids and they don't have the room for it).
The first of these schools was Serprent Prep. Hence the rivalry between them and Dragon Hall. Even though there wasn't nearly as many students then as there are now.
It was formed in year zero of the isle because contrary to popular belief, there WERE a few children already born/at school age when the isle formed).
The school is mostly made of stone.
All of the furniture is worn out.
The school is very filthy and covered in moss/plants/bits of mold.
You will DEFINITELY be getting jumped at this school but to be fair, you will get jumped on the isle in general so...
Furniture has been broken during fights.
Captain Hook has been mentioned to have kept Harry's best report card.
Learning disabilities and just, most disabilities, are not really acknowledged much because the staff aren't very well versed in it. So there are no aids/help for this.
Tutors are barely a thing there.
The classes aren't the best.
No one is sure the faculty chambers actually exist.
As stated in canon: 1. Dragon Hall is actually an old tomb re-purposed to act as a school. It's unknown how far it actually goes downward, but there is a statue of Maleficent's dragon form on the landing between the 2nd and 3rd basements.
2. There is barely any light and the lockers are haphazardly lined against the walls.
3. There is a forbidden library referred to as the Athenaeum of Evil which serves as storage for now-defunct information; Dr. Facilier is the only one with the key, and he has a spider the size of a cauldron guarding it.
Because of this, it sucks to be a student with arachnophobia there.
There are clubs at the school. Most are student founded.
There is graffiti everywhere.
Dragon Hall has the best school nurse on the isle. Probably because Dr. Facilier's kidd go there and he actually cares about them for the most part. Unlike other schools.
People have argued about whether the spider is the mascot or if a dragon is. Out of Mal and Maleficent's earshot, of course.
Dr. Facilier's shop and Arcade aren't located too far from the school.
Rumors say, Dr. Facilier can IN FACT be in three places at once (other rumors say, that it's because of secret passages but that cannot be confirmed nor denied).
The plumbing often breaks but it gets fixed somewhat quickly because, again, Dr. Facilier is the headmaster and his kids go there.
All of the de Vils have attended Dragon Hall. Some have had better times than others.
Diego and his band keep breaking into the school to practice: Dr. Facilier is not amused by this.
Frollo has tried to burn it down numerous times but he's done that with every school.
The bell tower is nearby.
If there is someone on the isle Dr. Facilier hates more than Maleficent, it's Frollo. But is that really a surprise?

Lesbian Rand AU?
[Send me a potential AU and I'll answer with five things from that story!]
Oh boy, here we go-
A lot depends on the setup. A big part of Rand's character is reckoning with the failures of his past life and the foundation of a lot the interesting ways Jordan interrogates the gender binary is built on the idea that those mistakes are a remix of Paradise Lost/The Fall. LTT is at both at once Eve and Lucifer. Eve in that he acts without the consent or permission of his other half (Latra Posae Decume- the Adam of this version) and runs of on his own in defiance of her will. Lucifier in that in his pride, he believes he can match or surpass the Creator, by attempting to Seal the Bore with only saidin. As a result, paradise is lost- the AoL is destroyed in the breaking by LTT's sin, an entire Age results where all men take the blame to a greater or lesser extent, for the original sin of one man. Of course, Jordan isn't just running with this premise as simple fact- he's interrogating the idea of original sin, salvation, and redemption and raising inherent and complicating questions. Does it make a difference that LTT's intentions where pure and genuine? That he didn't know and couldn't have predicted the consequences of his actions? How does Rand suffering for LTT's do any justice to those who suffered and died in the Breaking? Is chasing the splendor of an Age that could shatter so even a worthwhile endeavor, or should the focus be on building letting go of the past and building something new? Does that mean forgetting and forgiving and is that fair?
All this to say is that, I think for a Lesbian Rand AU to work the story would probably need a reversed gender dynamic to the one that is present in the books- which I don't know that I could ever write both because it would veer very uncomfortably close to the most misogynistic elements of our own historical societies, and probably have to exceed them in brutality to work (something I'm not very good at, since a lot of my world building energy is usually directed at reshaping and re interpenetrating those historical societies through more queer and equitable lenses), and because a lot of what I connect to in Rand's story has a lot to do with the specifically queer male reading of it. That said if I could or would do that, I think it could also work very effectively as a queer female reading in the same thematic ways.
Rand and male channelers in general in the WoT verse already full fill a lot of the tropes commonly associated with medieval witches- individuals tainted by otherworldly power that is poorly understood and inherently transgressive to the gender roles of their society, as well as threat to the established social order (to put it mildly). It's not hard to translate that to a theoretically tainted saidar and the feelings of a resulting broken world onto a theoretical female Dragon. Rand in this context fulfills a pretty familiar role- Joan of Arc, Himiko of Yamatai, Elizabeth Woodvile, etc- savior and hero to some, witch and monster to others.
My brain of course goes to female Mat to be Rand's love interest in this AU- trickster and guile heroine. Mat's specific brand is easy to imagine transcending into a female character in a strict patriarchy, both because Mat's role in the series is already pretty gender transgressive (as befits a trickster shapeshifting archetype), and because it's easy to imagine again that simmering homoerotic temptation Mat and Rand's relationship inherently invokes, but gender flipped: Mat representing a liberation a refusal of the traditional gender roles that Rand can't quite decide if she truly wants or only wants because she was raised to want them. Rand specifically being homosexual rather then my bisexual head canon means that, I would probably air on the side of it being compulsory heterosexuality/heteronormativity- and genuinely wanting the life of adventure and liberty offered by Mat's promises of running away together.
I could also see Min (again as her Gender Weird makes her surprisingly easy to translate into a traditional patriarchy without loosing core elements of her character) as Rand's love interest- again in largely the same role as the series. Someone who Rand could just be....herself around, who couldn't overawed or terrified or brow beaten into seeing a monster, but rather just a person- a woman sacred and overwhelmed and being crushed by the expectations of a savior, and all the fears of being a monster. Conversely I don't know that either Avihenda or Elayne's relationships would still function the same- not without flipping their genders as well which defeats the idea of the premise. A few extra thoughts (since 1 and 2 are basically just big disclaimers)-
While I find the idea of Lesbian Rand having to learn from Short Gay Ball of Anger Uncle Moiraine very funny conceptually (Moiraine is already a pretty strong riff of mentor characters like Obi Wan and Gandfalf, but genderflipped, and I find the idea flipping that back but keeping the more unique aspects of Moiraine's character to be interesting), I also can't help but find the idea of Moiraine as an older, slightly rattled/mad, female wilder Moiraine with the same motivation as in the series just as intriguing as a mentor figure to Lesbian Rand. It would give the entire series a very different vibe, but that's just a natural outcome of the premise as well. I once said Moiraine is a woman who, if she had be born into a patriarchy would have easily been burned as a witch- but the truth is, the idea of Moiraine as a witch to clever to burn, a witch who is surviving the curse of her power, and struggling to see the savior who may yet be able to reverse that curse and save their world...their is an Appeal There.
It's scary conversely, how easy it is to fit the Aes Sedai in general into a gender flipped Randland, and I think speaks to how effectively Jordan wrote them and their institutionally flaws. Mired in traditions, secure in their power, comfortable in ordering the world to their will- a mix between the Catholic Church and an order of magi, angry and resistant to reform and change that alters the base of their power, presided over by ancient and yet ageless cabals of entrenched elders. The scene, easily one of my favorites, in the series, in Fal Dara, is almost sickeningly easy to imagine with the genders flipped- a young woman still bright eye and scarred of what she is and what she is capable of, with three thousand years of tales of women going mad from power, declaring themselves the Dragon falsely in greed and lust for power and leaving the world to suffer for it, walking into a a room with three ancient wizards who tell her that this is her fate, to be this messiah and destroyer both, it hits sharply and exactly the right way.
Again, I don't know that I would do it, and I find what Jordan is doing with gender and sexuality already int he Wot Books inherently more interesting and....less....I don't know sticky? But it's a fun thought exercise.

I'm very dragonpilled right now and 3 Houses/Hopes refuses to scratch the itch despite arguably having one of the best takes on manaketes in series history(used loosely here ofc since not all dragons are made equal in FE). God, the Nabateans are right up my alley and yet we get crumbs. It got me thinking about Laguz vs Nabateans, seeing the dragon fam drama in Tellius be touched on, TONS more than Rhea, Seteth, Flayn, Macuil, Indech, the Relics siblings, and even Sothis.
I know this is about to sound like I'm asking "lol what's the difference between night and day" here, but I genuinely would like to know just how much better IntSys did with the dragon shifters in Tellius from a person more knowledgeable about it, and how they could've done the Nabateans much better in hindsight, especially since both games do a very interesting twist on dragons for the series. I'm thinking of watching a playthrough of Tellius to literally just FINALLY get my dragon fam/race fill instead of asking the Fodlan series to give me anything (I'M STARVING DAMMIT), and would like to hear your thoughts on what you think of the Laguz overall and how their race enhances the plot. Spoilers welcome btw.
Oh.
(ugh i forgot this in my drafts i’m so sorry!)
Let's say Tellius starts and breathes with the racial angle/card - we have two kinds of humans, beorcs who are random humans and laguz, humans who can shapeshift.
Through the course of the saga, we see Laguz. Not just here as mere place holder and infodumps, but we see the various leaders of the different tribes, we go to Castle Gallia, Ike talks and learns from all kind of Laguz around.
For the dragon Laguz living in Goldoa, their first appearance, iirc, is when Ike's boat crashes on their shores, dragons are isolationists and ask him to get the fuck out, we can't because no boat, and the situation is dire until the dragon prince, Kurthnaga, pops up and defuses the situation.
Afterwards we see Deghinsea talk to the other Laguz Kings about the plot.
But for the dragon laguz? The most important about them isn’t their scale or anything, but the familial drama associated to Goldoa’s royal line. They are not only dragons and here to give a backstory to someone - nope, they are characters with arcs.
It ultimately touches the greater plot and one of Tellius’s most destestable themes - but such is their verse, and they are fundamentally a family screwed by their world.
Sister goes to hold the hand of the worst human alive, worst human alive use the kid they got as a barganing chip, older brother goes to rescue her and ends up as a drugged and tortured being, younger brother is sheltered but lost about what is happening, and their father is enduring the loss of his two children and also the fate of the world on his moustache, until he cannot anymore. Older brother’s wife sides with worst human alive just to get a chance to see her beloved, and her own grandpa has to betray his country for her sake and her unborn kid.
Meanwhile? Rhea is a lizard in hiding because her siblings became toothpicks, but Seteth ? Doesn’t have anything to do and or reaction when the truth is revealed, or when people are trying to turn them in toothpicks again. He won’t talk to Nemesis, and player pandering forces him not to give more fucks than needed about his sister.
Like, gosh, Rajaion only appears in a cutscene (bar his, uh, alternate form) and I get more about his relationship with his siblings, dad and lover from Tellius than Seteth’s 10 supports and 2 games where he could be interacting with his siblings, but, uh, never does in a meaningful way.
And that’s not to say Seteth BaD or anything like this, really !
Just to say the lizard family from Fodlan didn’t receive even a tenth of what the Goldoan royals received, even if they have much more screentime.
Quality > Quantity.
What they could have done with Fodlan to make the dragon family act more like a family rather than the clusterfuck we had?
Well, for starters, the Nabatean AG paralogue is a step in the right direction, because they interact without using Billy as the “center of universe” prop everything must tend to.
Maybe Fodlan could have started by at least naming one (maybe not all 12) dragon who was turned in a relic.
Maybe we could have had a confirmation about Flayn’s status, as a pure blooded Nabatean or as a hybrid.
They could have given us more breadcrumbs about what it means to share “blood” with humans, and if it was something that is supposed to be common, or reserved to “very special humans”. They could have developped more about what Nabateans felt seeing their current “allies” use relics, or even their enemies engineer fake “hearts” to turn humans in grotesque abominations supposed to mirror them.
I’m not saying we should had playable Indech’n’Macuil, but at least see and interact with them more, or give more info about them, why did they escape after the WoH, did they even meet Rhea once in 1k years, etc etc. Do we know if Nabateans are still surviving outside of Fodlan (it’s implied by Petra iirc) ?
That’s why I would have wanted more War of Heroes content, I know the Nabatean civilisation is already razed but we could have had the content I wanted and expected since day 1, about Nabateans, their place in the world and how they are supposed to work/live/coexist in peace with humans (and agarthans?) - we could have had some Nabateans who thought they were superiors to humans and were tyrants, and Nabateans who wanted and worked with them on an “equal” basis or some who were just consulted as oracles or seers...
Can they still live with humans ? Did they disagree on what to do next, after the Red Canyon, did some wanted to hide until the end of the times, or some wanted to rule over humans, or some only wanted to guide them?
All those things, and we will never know.
Bear in mind, we don’t know Deghinsea’s tax policy (still his country is isolationist to an extreme degree so...), but we know he loved all of his children, we know Almedha feels like dirt because she feels like she is the catalyst for the destruction of her family and expects Ena, her sister in law, to despise her, we know Nasir’s love for his granddaughter is stronger than in loyalty to his King and his own morals...
And we see Kurthnaga trying to do the “right thing”, only to realise the “right thing” isn’t the thing we always want to do, and how he ultimately has to walk in his father’s shoes.
It’s a tight group, take one of them, and you would find bonds and links to another member of the group.
In Fodlan, if I look at Rhea’s bonds (even if I take Nopes because remember, player pandering means “alone b4 u since zanado”) I still don’t know how she feels about Indech, how he feels about her, or what is going on in the state of the world.
Fodlan really tries to sell us a story where the Nabateans aren’t that close to each other, where Indech will not give a fuck about his sister being turned in a pair of daggers and where Cichol doesn’t think it is important to warn his brothers that Supreme Leader and her friends want to erase every Nabatean from Fodlan -
Hell, again with Fodlan’s main issue (or one of its main issues) - the Nabateans cannot collectively react to an event like a second attempt at ousting them from Fodlan, or in Supreme Leader’s words, create a “Nabatean blood-less world!” because Hresvelg Tea needs to be sold.
Almedha might have hold Ashnard’s hand, Kurthnaga, Deghinsea, Nasir and Ena are quick and fast to call him an asshole. I’m sure Rajaion did too. And there’s no need to have some “maybe we could have walked with him” or some “maybe he had his reasons??” when a member of their family is/was being tortured under his care.
Compare this to Seteth’s “well i know you don’t want to kill Supreme Leader but we have to put an end to the war!” when Rhea has been in her dungeons for 5 years, when he knows she’s in Enbarr and when he knows what happened to Flayn in the span of 1 month.
Fodlan cannot develop Nabateans without making Supreme Leader look like a fool, and Supreme Leader is Fodlan’s cash cow.
That’s, I think, the main difference between Fodlan’s Nabateans and Tellius’s dragon laguz.
#androblob#i'm so sorry i sometimes start to type a reply but then I put it on hold#because i have something else to do and here we are 3 months later#laguz in general were characters not nods or background exposition#never to be touched upon as to not make someone look bad#or just nods and being around because hey look we brought back beasts you loved them before right?#That's what they did in FE13 and I hated it#The FE14 beasts were apparently living in villages and no thought or care is given about a race of shapeshifters leaving in a world with hum#humans damn#they're just like people from a random village who just happen to have fur that's all#after coming from Tellius it's a bit light#but the game didn't want to shed light on them so at least that's that#to make nabateans better in hindsight talk about them#make them interact with each other#give them that familly or close group vibe the dragons from Tellius had#i think shifters and manaketes are used to lampshade an existing situation to depict racism or the struggle to live with people who are#different#if it's just to have a unit with fur then bar the gameplay what's the point?#at least that's what bamco does and it often works#Fodlan is an exception because the one who is arguing against coexistence is the cashcow of the saga#so she can't be wrong nor be right else the game wouldn't be released#so we're left with that milquetoast piece of jelly#'tell me is it bad that i do not want to die because my ears are pointy?'

The Future Force & The Millenium Items: How Would They Clash?
Note: In canon, Gao can harness the Future Force as well, but he cannot do it on command like Tasuku can and has only used it for the most part during Buddyfights (because plot). Though, I am unsure if I will have him get this power in his Yu-Gi-Oh! DM verse or not, since I am still deciding what 'canon' Buddyfight events can reasonably happen for this verse. So, we'll just focus on it in the context of Tasuku for now.
Tumblr media
The Future Force, as I've described before such as on this post, is a power Tasuku possesses that allows him to manifest the power of Buddyfight cards into physical reality. The cards can be any cards he has access to, not just the ones in his own deck. It can be accessed through any 'Core Gadget', aka a Buddyfight Deck case / Duel Disk Equivalent that he is holding, but of course, he channels it the majority of the time through his own, the Star Pulsar. It manifests in his hair growing out long, a visual presentation of the power coming from another time flowing through him. He does not physically age using this power, however.
This power comes from his Future Self in the most literal sense. While we do not know the specifics of the power's origins or how Tasuku acquired it, we do know that according to Buddyfight Lore, if there is not a Tasuku alive in the future of the time period he is present in, he cannot use the power whatsoever (Buddyfight 100 shows this plainly when they travel to the future.). I like to think it comes from the power /potential his own future itself has/ a strong belief for the future, and the fact he is the 'Boy of Destiny' fated to save and protect the world and its future.
(Side Note Before We Continue: We know the power isn't exclusive, as I said at the top with Gao. That means there could be other potential candidates out there who could harness the power from their future selves. This could lead to interesting interactions perhaps. Like TBH, I feel like Kaiba might be an actual candidate for Future Force specifically because of his own potential future strength, belief in the future, and his own fate as a reincarnation of Priest Seto. But that's food for thought for another day. I just thought I'd mention it before moving on)
Now, with this power being at play, it brings into question how this power would interact with the main supernatural power in Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Millenium Items.
The 7 Millenium Items are ancient Egyptian artifacts harassing dark and shadow magic to do all sorts of powerful things dependent on the item. While they have a dark origin, these items as seen in the series, can be used for good or for evil. This is already a sharp contrast to the Future Force, which is specifically portrayed as a 'good' or 'heroic' power that is contrasted by its dark counterpart, the Disaster Force.
So, how would these powers interact? I do think it depends on the item. For items like the Necklace, Puzzle, Scale, that do not directly do anything to another individual for the most part, the powers would not interact. For every other item, I do think they'd clash in the sense they'd either cancel each other out or their ability has no effect on the other. Let me illustrate with some examples.
Rod: We know from the manga, if I recall, the Rod needs to physically touch someone in order to have it's mind control power used on them. Since one can manifest barrier-related cards into reality (Example: Green Dragon Shield or Earth Barrier), I think those would protect Tasuku from being affected/controlled. Though, his powers would not be able to break the Rod or its mind control on someone else, just like the Rod wouldn't be able to seal any cards he's brought to life back in their original form (like how it could with monsters in Ancient Egypt). Key/Ring: Tasuku could protect himself from his mind being entered or his soul being manipulated or sealed. However, he could not stop the item's user from going into someone's mind or manipulating their soul. He could still be tracked by the Ring as well, but I imagine if he is using his power, the tracking stops. Eye: Tasuku would be protected from having his mind or soul read in addition to his soul sealed in a Soul Prison, but he cannot prevent someone else's mind from being read or sealed away, or using his power to free someone from a Soul Prison. Shadow Game: If he was brought into a Shadow Game space, I imagine the powers of that space would not affect him as much (similar to how Atem could handle it during the game with Pegasus while Yugi could not). However, he also wouldn't be able to fully dispel it either if he was not involved. Object or Power Clash: I do not think any cards manifested by the Future Force (Example: Dragonblade, Dragobrave) or Millennium Items could break each other in a physical clash. I think they'd just have a collision and be sent flying back.
Tumblr media
In short, the powers basically either cancel each other out or just do not effect the other directly when clashing. The biggest exception to this rule, and Tasuku's advantage if facing a Millenium Item User, is that Tasuku could bring physical harm if he uses his powers to manifest cards and have them physically attack the user (like swinging his Dragonblade, Dragobrave for example, or having one of his monsters or spells restrain the other).
Keep in mind though, Tasuku doesn't use his powers unless he HAS to and wouldn't go fighting someone using it willy-nilly. Usually, they are either used to save another or to defend themselves or innocents or friends against someone who also has a similar power (Like the Disaster Force). His view is that this power is meant to help people first and foremost. He also would not use it to kill because despite wanting to bring justice to people who deserve it like criminals, he is not a killer.
Any instances in which Tasuku would use the Future Force in general for an offensive or defensive purpose against any non-NPC, for this verse or otherwise, are typically ones that I discuss with a mun prior due to its overpowered nature and the fact it's used in extreme circumstances.
Anyway, thank you for reading this food for thought of mine and I hope it brings clarity to anyone who may have been wondering how this would go from my POV. Of course, all of this stuff could be debated depending on the interaction. This is just my two cents on it. I'm flexible.

Miscellaneous Headcanons #1
Just gonna go ahead and hash out some headcanons for Maleficent's default verse, her Twisted Wonderland verse, and her Kingdom Hearts verse. Because why not?
Default
The fact that Maleficent has such fondness and trust in Diablo is very important because it demonstrates she is capable of feeling fondness and trust for another. Maleficent may not understand empathy beyond an intellectual level (enough to understand that hurting those your targets care for hurts them more than just killing them would), but it seems she is capable of feeling it. However, since she sees herself as "beyond" such "weakness," she is incapable of seeing her affection for Diablo for what it is.
Maleficent doesn't hate Aurora. She doesn't actually have any grudge against the princess herself; Aurora's just a useful instrument in causing pain to those who've slighted her.
Technically speaking, when Maleficent said "She will indeed grow in grace and beauty, beloved by all who know her", that was also a part of Maleficent's "gift." The curse, therefore, ensures that Aurora's beauty and grace are never tarnished, and that any who get to know her stumble into situations where she becomes beloved by them. They still love Aurora for who she is, of course; the curse just forces them to learn who she is.
Relatedly, Maleficent is technically one of Aurora's fairy godmothers. Sure, nobody in their right mind would ever peg her as such (and she certainly doesn't act like it), but she is a fairy who provided a magical "gift" upon the princess on the day of her christening. The fact that the gift came bundled with a death curse aside, this means that Maleficent technically has the same role that the three good fairies do, even if she chooses to act directly against that role for the sake of her revenge.
Maleficent is stronger physically than she looks. Being a fae who is also a dragon, she is possessing of superhuman strength even in her humanoid form. However, this is only very rarely demonstrated; she believes herself to be the pinnacle of feminine regality and stature, and a regal lady of stature is above throwing hands like common street trash.
Twisted Wonderland
Let's get one thing straight right out of the gate: Maleficent does care about Malleus. She might not show it in the most healthy or moral of ways, but she does legitimately have his best interests at heart. A part of this is narcissism, of course. The fact that he is her grandson marks him as one of the very special few who are worthy of almost as much respect and reverence as she is.
She has been keeping tabs on Malleus pretty much his entire life, even if he never quite realized it. The only people that remained in Malleus' life while living in Briar Valley were those that Maleficent approved of; those she did not approve of quickly disappeared, never to be seen again. This, naturally, extends to Lilia as well; Vanrouge's presence is something that is tolerated because he is beneficial to Malleus.
Everything I've been able to find on the subject seems to suggest that Headmaster Crowley is based off of Diablo. Until or unless the game/person I'm rping with disagrees, I will be running with this assumption and saying that Maleficent is Crowley's fairy godmother. Like, a proper one, not the one-by-technicality thing I mentioned above. She's not as peppy or forgiving as fairy godmothers tend to be, but she does deign to aid him at her leisure so long as Crowley behaves in her presence. If he doesn't behave in her presence...well, spare the rod, spoil the child, as they say.
Maleficent is convinced she knows what is behind the blotting phenomenon. She refers to it as an "archaic" or "obsolete" phantom from an age long irrelevant. She is also fully convinced that she is immune to overblotting, despite how petty, wrathful, and just generally emotional she can be.
Maleficent learns of the MC from both Crowley and Malleus, and she comes to have a detached interest in them. Their ability to wrangle all the disparate personalities and egos of the college towards a common goal is intriguing to her as a ruler, wish-granter, and curse-maker. They have her attention, which may or may not make their lives harder as time goes on...
Kingdom Hearts
Maleficent is about as Dark as one can get before becoming a Heartless. The fact that her Heart goes to the Realm of Darkness when she "dies" without turning her into a Heartless is proof of that. Just as she cannot understand goodness and Light, she understands Darkness on a fundamental level to an extent that no other does. This is why she never underestimates it, despite her own not-inconsiderable arrogance.
Maleficent's losses to the protagonists were collectively something of a wakeup call for her, and she's dedicated herself to becoming more mighty than ever before while also continuing her dastardly book-based schemes. To that end, she has completely mastered the Squeenix magic system, with all the -za and Zeta that implies. The only exceptions to this are Cure and Holy; these spells require an amount of Light within one's Heart that Maleficent simply isn't capable of.
Maleficent's ultimate goal is dominion over everyone and everything everywhere. The ultimate power that she seeks is simply the tool she requires to achieve her ambitions; it alone is not enough to satisfy her. To that end, she opposes anyone who espouses oblivion; if everything is consumed by the void, she will have nothing to rule, after all.
Maleficent is shown having gone up against keyblade wielders before in both Union X and Dark Road, winning both times. Hell, she killed four of them at once in Dark Road. This blog takes this as the norm; most keyblade wielders cannot stand against the Mistress of All Evil, with the protagonists who demonstrably can defeat her being the exceptions instead of the rule. This is also why she was so complacent until Sora kicked her teeth in one too many times.
Relatedly, Maleficent is old enough to have been around during the Keyblade War. She is not responsible for its start, but she did do her part in escalating things beyond the breaking point by stoking the Darkness within select individuals. She remembers that terrible time with great fondness.

have 💍⚖️🍵 for two folks of your choice, if you’d like! :D @kerra-and-company
Wiiiiii! Went with Anwen and Galaëd here, I hope that's okay for you ^^ By the Mists, I wish these two verses could meet somehow 😄 the sheer amounts of nonsense they'd plunge the world into would be magnificent! 🤣
Soooo! *cracks fingers*
💍 Does your OC have a specific item that is priceless to them but may (or may not) be completely worthless to someone else? Is there a story behind this item or is it just because they like it so much?
Galaëd has a bud of Caladbolg, that he had encased in a bead of glass and mounted as a pendant. He has held onto it since the fight against Mazdak, where he briefly carried the Thorn and keeps it even more preciously since Trahearne's death and resurrection.
Tumblr media
Anwen has a strong attachment to her armour - the pauldrons Faren gifted her during her recovery from the battle against the Earth Elemental that owed her the title of Heroine of Shaemoor particularly. But practicality must prevail and when her breastplate and spaulder are damaged, sunken and torn by Faolain's attacks, she doesn't hesitate to abandon them to carry on the fight against Mordremoth and save Trahearne. Her brother will make sure to replace them with identical pieces during her year of recovery! As for an irreplaceable item she would never in a thousand years part with, it will be her wedding ring.
Tumblr media
⚖️ What is the biggest crime your OC has committed? Are they a theif, a cheat, a liar? What is the smallest, most petty crime they’ve committed? Or do they not do crime at all?
Galaëd is a little trouble maker, but the pranks he pulls are always harmless and generally good spirited (confuse, don't abuse) , so if they might be borderline illegal, he would probably never face any serious repercussion for them.
As for Anwen, I'm quite sure some amongst the Pact would call her a deserter for her sudden and irrevocable resignation, following Trahearne's demotion. She's also a deicide, which might be considered a crime depending on how severely religion is enforced in Ascalonian, Krytian and Elonian society, and will either way probably lead to a huge schism in the cult of Balthazar... If you defeat the God of War in fair combat, do you de-facto ascend to godhood ?
🍵 Are there any rumours about your OC hanging around? Nasty ones or just good humoured? Got any gossip to share about them?
Galaëd has for most maintained his image of white-knight Valiant, if touches of colours and a reputation of jester ended up completing the picture. He's mainly known as the Commander's best friend and battle brother. But having a certain someone in his life might entice more... prickly rumours. After all, if Canach and him are indeed partners, then perhaps the secondborn's not as mean as he seems... or the valiant not as nice. 😏
Tumblr media
Anwen has been the talk of Divinity's Reach sheltered nobility since her entrance in society. Spurning rounds of suitors -- one of them, too insistent in his attentions, ending up flying through a window of her parents ballroom. Embracing the path of the Guardian, and devoting herself to Kormir. Joining the Seraph in the battle to protect Shaemoor. Joining the Priory when she could easily have a life of leisure in the capital. Dancing around her feelings for Trahearne for almost three years before these two idiots finally took the leap. (even if, to be absolutely fair, these particular rumours merely seeped through the Pact to the rest of the world...) And of course there are talks about her humanity or lack-there-of. After all, she's a dragon's champion and a deicide... and in the years to come people might start noticing... she hasn't aged a day since her return from Elona.

Ninjago movie verse headcanons Pt. 3 (Maybe a bit chaotic, might be my last one, who knows?)
- Zane obviously knows how to cook. He cooks very well, barely gets anything burnt or undercooked. He accidentally acts like a mom to the rest of The Skittle Squad (yes I’m calling them The Skittle Squad from now on) he also gets cooked food straight out the oven with no oven mitts. It was a jumpscare for Cole
- On the other hand, Kai is permanently banned anywhere in the kitchen. Get a glass of water? He has to beg someone else to get it for him. Getting an apple? He has to walk very slowly to get it off the bowl. Why? Because he unintentionally blows up the kitchen. Nobody knows exactly why he’s like this
- Since Jay knows how to invent stuff, he mainly did most of the blueprints for each mech, and had Zane to do it in the holidays non-stop. It wasn’t such a big deal, since Zane is a robot and has stamina. But Jay felt a bit too bad for making Zane do the work so he just forced Zane to make a plain water flavoured popsicle in his free time whilst Jay did his fair share of tinkering
- The Skittle Squad does karaoke nights. Lloyd sings pretty fine, he’s the most decent singer. Cole would most likely beat box or dance instead (they had to drag him away from the stage). You cannot not convince me that Kai forced Jay to do a Spin The Wheel and got Barbie Girl as his song and absolutely cried whilst trying his best. Zane sings like he’s speaking. It makes Cole cry. Nya does a whole K-pop performance (+ Kai because he was supposed to mock Nya behind her on the stage but they synced their moves and they look pretty good). Kai just shows up in those inflatable suits and sings a seductive song whilst pole-dancing. (He’s banned from the stage as well)
- Bonus when Kai sings but makes a commentary in the middle of the song he’s singing like, “I left all the doors unlocked when you- Okay, whose holding my dinosaur tail, let it go-”
- They all do bets. They exchange money so much that it’s a tradition (Right now Jay’s got the most money but he’s acting as if he’s broke so the others won’t turn bets towards him)
- If SnapChat was real in Ninjago, Kai would most likely take a selfie of Cole spitting out his drink with Jay’s hair on fire and the text would be like ‘Damn new hair style on 🔥🔥🔥’ (Then there’s another selfie all blurred of him on the foreground and Nya behind him chasing him to grab the phone and the text would be an unfinished message like ‘Hold on brb my sister-’
- Nya and Lloyd (obviously) do hair routines together. They would exchange shampoos, conditioner, hair tips and practise on wigs as well, the rest of the Squad thinks it’s so cute
- Meanwhile Cole suggests Jay should cut his hair by burning it (Zane almost had an urge to get a marshmallow and roast it over Jay’s head)
- Jay and Kai love (really) social media. They both type very fast and have quick comebacks. When someone posts a hate post about Lloyd, you’ll bet Kai would tell him off about how Lloyd is better than them and Jay would go over their profile and shame them for whatever they are interested in (even if it’s actually something that he thinks is decent)
- Cole did that one trend where you fake looking through the internet and find out that your friend’s celebrity has ‘died’ at the age of whatever, he did it on Nya using her hero ‘The Lady Iron Dragon’. Nya couldn’t stop crying for days
- Jay keeps his room pretty tidy. When the others (Lloyd mostly) got invited to stay at his place, they try to attempt to make everything a huge mess just to spite him (It was Kai’s idea, of course)
- They all own a group chat and spite eachother by changing their display names. Lloyd’s phone got taken from Cole and the message notification just notified Kai that his display name was changed to ‘K-Baby’ and that made him change Lloyd’s name to ‘Child Booster Seat’

Ellana Lavellan - elf mage inquisitor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
iconless but her fc is Sarah Michelle Gellar (I had the strongest Buffy vibe when in Haven, believing she was about to die, she still took the time to sass Denam) Wanted interactions: Dragon Age Only. Doesn't have a follower verse.
Canon divergences:
-she's 25 at the time of the Inquisition -canon divergence: she's the clan Keeper's NIECE, not her First. Her aunt gave her the mission to go to the conclave to spy for their clan as a last chance, because she loves Ellana. -why a 'last chance'? Because before DAI Ellana was a MESS. Banished twice, her aunt spoke in her defense and had her brought back, but her general disastrous behavior had her sent away again. Rebellious, aggressive, mocking everyone and everything, started softening up after 3 years among humans/alone, which taught her that she should have been more appreciative of her clan's rules and harmony. -Humans branded her face, and unable to fully remove it she turned it into a flowery tattoo ; she was often arrested; fighting in taverns, stealing, mostly vandalizing or breaking things, but then, that was nothing new to her.
-after the conclave happens, Ellana suddenly finds herself with the power to save the world or doom it, and suddenly she has Responsibilities. She has people waiting for her to lead. And so Ellana out of nowhere is acting reasonably, responsibly; she's friendly and nice, she's calm, she has no idea of what she's doing but she's doing it, she knows she's not been sent by Andraste but she'll say what she needs to say to make people feel better. She's organized, merciful and a bit hopeful. This is the Inquisitor they all get to know, the good old dependable Ellana. (but I'm here for them learning the truth as time goes by) -After the war is over and she goes after Solas, her dear friend, who saves her life by cutting her arm off but also intends to bring the end of the world as they know it, she dismantles the Inquisition and intends to stop him no matter what. She'd rather talk him out of it, but if she can't, he dies. And suddenly she doesn't have to keep it together as much.
some choices (that of course can be changed if they involve someone you write) so that you can also jump straight into interacting with her without having to write an introduction: -sides with mages -her clan is wiped out -forgives Blackwall almost immediately (she gets it) -gets along with Iron Bull, often has drinks with him, same for Varric though she doesn't know how to face him after she leaves Hawke in the Fade -Dorian is her best friend (and apparently she hadn't heard of 'gay' before given her confused response when he told her he was attracted to men, but didn't need any more time than that to accept it as a concept and move past it. They still flirt with each other occasionally, given that she gave him the okay to keep it up) (she goes to him when she's pining over Cullen so he can keep her distracted. Doesn't say it but he knows. Everybody knows.) -she's immediately into Cullen, but really didn't mean to fall in love (she does because he's adorable when she flirts, but also because they grow very close after Haven). He learns more about her after they start sleeping together. She encourages him to keep going without Lyrium. They marry later on. -Loves to go tease Cassandra about everything because she's so serious -Josephine and Solas are also close friends and she asks them all sorts of questions -Leliana is Divine, Cole is human. -Doesn't get as close with Vivienne nor Sera (she does prank people with the latter, but as much as she's a rebel against her clan, Ellana doesn't appreciate elf on elf hate) -if Cullen isn't romanced, she's straight and open to humans and elves. In this case she will always have that first moment of 'you have my Interest' towards Cullen at the beginning but nothing will come out of it.

Kind of confused re: your response to green-tea-in-a-flask's post: what other "troubling parallels drawn to real life" are present in the TBS-verse? Most of the allegories I've seen are very clearly intentional and well-handled so I'm a bit confused. (Also for the record, Lauren Shippen did not write the miniseries in question, Meghan Fitzmartin did)
WHaT?! Shippen didn't write the AM archives?? wasn't that the first series to come out post TBS ending? before TCT where Fitsmartin was a cowriter? and the wiki says they're cowriters on both series
anywho, this has actually been a gripe i've had w the writing of the series since S2. Shippen's good at writing characters who feel real and coming up with interesting concepts, but definitely struggles when it comes to coherent plots and characters arcs, and struggles a super bunch when it comes to themes.
first and foremost is the setting. Atypicals are clearly a real life parallel for neurodivergent folk, they're on the fringes of society, and harassed by super secret organizations who either want them gone or want to use them for their own gain- at of course the atypicals expense. that's all fine and dandy, Dragon Age even has a very similar premise with it's mages! but Shippen fails where Dragon Age succeeds at conveying that people are all morally grey, mages can be destructive, they could be absolutely devastating(see: Tevinter, the Evanuris), but ultimately it falls on both the individual and the greater society to not only cultivate a certain predisposition towards care and compassion for others, but also ensure an environment where those properties can flourish and inspire attachment and not resentment. Bioware does an excellent job at showing this(see: pretty much any and all characters from the DA series, but especially Anders lol) Shippen on the other hand has Good Characters and Bad Characters. Chloe? Good! Damien(*i'll get back to this guy)? Bad! Agent Green? Good! Director Wadsworth? Bad! i think she really tried with Dr. Bright and Samantha to make them more "grey" characters, but they end up just being Good People who did a Bad Thing, but don't worry! They had a Good Intent and felt Bad about it cause they're Good! even the so called repercussions they face are laughable, so-and-so will find out and admonish them, they'll apologize but maybe insist they felt like they had no alternative but will grow from this. so-and-so will says they won't forget about this and will be watching very closely for said growth, and then next episode is Caleb/Adam centric and suddenly the issue is just a minor character flaw.
that's not to say the characters are flat, i said before Shippen writes very nuanced and realistic characters......but as for how the Narrative treats them, well, there's a clear way you're meant to see these characters. Let's take one for example, oh idk let's say..... Damien! Damien can been seen so many ways, ranging from vitriolic hate to my own poor little meow meow. Can he control his ability? Can he form healthy attachments? Will he ever find redemption? Who knows! Shippen only allows him to be written in flashbacks now! Never mind TBS's theme, in entire premise hinging on therapy, is that people can grow and become better than what they were, Damien is Bad so he goes to writing purgatory. Narratively, this means that he just......went away? So, on one hand, we have this theme of growth, but then here, we suddenly have a character allegedly So Bad he can't become Good(interestingly like the rest of the pre-ordained Bad Characters), and is written conveniently out of the plot so we don't have to think about how 'the AM's treatment of atypicals is slightly justified' too much, so then, why have him at all if he doesn't fit the theme of the story you're trying to write? i'm guessing it's because having an undeniable villain is fun, and fits most storylines. just not here.
a more personal allegorical scene is the last scene between him and Mark. it's meant to be an allegorical representative of abusive relationships and cutting abusive people out of your life, this is a very important thing to do because irl abusive people will almost always continue to abuse. The issue herein lies that Damien DID CHANGE. And the reason Mark gave Damien for why he couldn't be around Mark anymore is because HE COULD NOT CHANGE. so now the abuse victim is.....canonically wrong? awesome, next allegory.
Chloe's a mind reader, she can peer into the depths of a person's thought and have a reasonably well understanding of what they're thinking, this is an allegory for violating people's boundaries(i.e. reading they're diary, going through they're phone, checking they're browsing history), something people do when they're searching for trust, which has been shown to be an issue for her when she can't read they're thoughts and make sure they're Good(tm). i personally think, and ymmv here, but(as someone who loves Chloe and she's my #2 TBS chara) i personally think Chloe should have permanently lost her ability when when Damien knocked it out of her. how satisfying would it be that someone who continuously violates people's boundaries(to various extents) would only stop doing that thing when she herself is the victim of how far it can go. this would've been perfect because Damien and Chloe's abilities are said in iirc S1 to be complementary, to the point they cancel each other out. instead we get a Chloe who can now actively shut her ability off.......but also still chooses to use it a lot of the time. cool display of growth bro, next allegory.
it's mentioned when they were little, Joan and Mark were quite close. as they grew, they slowly drifted apart, for the most part because of Joan's involvement with the AM. this is actually a good allegory for predatory organization's isolating people from their loved ones before introducing them into the more insidious elements of their organization. i'm sure with covid and whatnot, seeing our loved one fall for qan0n rhetoric makes this now an especially relevant storyline. i actually really like this allegory because it not only shows how even really smart people like Joan can be targeted by cults that end up hurting their loved ones. i also like the attention to the fallout of having to regain the trust of someone you didn't even mean to hurt, and how many "i'm sorry"s and "please forgive me"s they'll have to say and mean for the rest of the foreseeable future. my issue with this one is......how does this fit into the story of TBS? the allegory by itself is solid, plotwise it's been hinted at since S1, but thematically, where exactly is the growth? is it when they were growing apart? well, no, that happened in the years before TBS. the growing Joan did when she found out about Mark? well, maybe? iirc we never really know how deep Joan was in the organization, in fact to my best recollection, Mark was her premature introduction to the more graphic elements of the AM, and she immediately recoiled and cut ties so, the journey she had then was more in her personal knowledge of the situation than any change or growth to her character. thematically, this plot beat is more relevant to the idea of cults than anything close to growth. i couldn't put my finger on why this plot point bugged me when i was first listening, but now i think i understand a bit better. it feels like the story is trying to tell use Joan needs to grow and be a better person than when she was working for the AM(and certainly she has her issues), but then the reason they give is actually quite flimsy. Joan was almost indoctrinated into a weird anti super power cult and now she needs to grow and show she's sorry? for almost being indoctrinated into a cult she immediately cut herself off from when she found out about it's insidious elements?? okay....
maybe your mileage may vary, and certainly if you still enjoy TBS kudos to you, i don't want to take away from that, but allegories that are held together with string and gum, and that's gets really distracting for me.
anyway, i apologize of this is rambly and all over the place, it's been a while since i've relistened to TBS(an usually when i do it's just Damien's episodes), but yeah i have a lot of beef with TBS lmao

OC Interview: Fane Lavellan
Thank you for the tag @dungeons-and-dragon-age! I’ve been eyeing up this meme for a while actually, so this was perfect timing! X3
This takes place Post-Trespasser, about a month or two after, in fact. Solas brought the idea forward, and of course, Fane refused. But after some coaxing, some explanation as to why, and the promise of a whole cake, Fane agreed to humor the request.
*THERE BE BIG THINGS REGARDING FANE HERE*
I got carried awaaaaaay! XD
Introduction
Can you introduce yourself?
“I can, but it’s a lengthy list,” He sighs, “...Those who are close to me, who see as but an elf, call me Fane. Those who wish to meet cobble, call me Lavellan or Herald. Those who are blinded by reverence call me ‘He Who Flew Above’. Denizens of the Fade refer to me as, ‘Devotion’ or ‘Tenacity’. However, my true name is..” He sighs again, “...Aterian. I rarely go by it, but the truth won’t be ignored. It never can be.”
What is your gender identity, orientation and relationship status?
“Male. Elvhen. Dragon.” He huffs through his nose, shifting his gaze off to the side, “That’s all I’ll say on that. As for orientation, I’m...emotionally driven. If you asked me to look at another and tell you what’s attractive about them I would say, ‘Nothing.’ I don’t know them, so I feel nothing for them.“ He shrugs, turning his gaze back, but brandishes a glare, “There’s only one person who defies that response, and that’s because he knows me, without and within. More than that, is none of your business.”
Where and when were you born?
He lifts a hand, massaging a temple, “The ‘where’ is simple; Elvhenan. Specifics are lost to me, however, so you’ll have to be content with that response.” He shifts his gaze downwards, slowly crossing his arms, “As to when?” He sighs heavily, “...I have no answer for that other than: I’m roughly the same age, if not older, as Solas. Does it matter, honestly? Numbers fall through the cracks after a specific threshold is crossed.” What is your weapon of choice and fighting style?
He unravels a crossed arm and guides his hand downwards, tapping the pommel of a sword he has fastened to his waist, “Sword. I use either long swords, short swords, or great swords.” He raises an eyebrow as a question is forwarded, “Shields?” He sneers a bit. “I don’t use shields. They get in the way, and anyways,” He raises his hand once more, the expanse steadily beginning to glow blue and silver before a spectral coating of scales cover the entirety, “this is better than any shield. I prefer the front lines, the place I can make sure no one breaches, and the lingering memory of what I once was makes sure I can do just that.” He dispels the scales and shakes out his hand before returning it to his crossed counterpart, “It takes energy to maintain, but I’m getting better at holding it for longer.”  Lastly, are you happy?
He blinks before his entire expression softens, two toned eyes shining with primary gold as they shift downwards, “...If you had asked that of me over twelve years ago I would have spat in your face and said, ‘Happiness doesn’t exist in this world’. But now..” He trails off, casting a sidelong glance towards one of the fortress’s entryways; a familiar voice sounding, firm, but soft, as if reprimanding a child, “...I understand what happiness is, and it’s in every corner if you allow yourself to see it.” His eyes shift back, holding a far away look and voice coming forward in a murmur, “I only wish we all could be happy; together.”
Family and Friends
What’s your family like? What is your relationship with them?
His face holds a conflicted look, as if the memory is painful before speaking, “Complicated,” he says before beginning to tap a finger against his bicep, “I had a mother. She died when I was fifteen from a wasting disease, but she was the picture of serenity. Calm, guiding, measured. Hair like moonlight. Eyes like a clear autumn day. She was--” Unbranded features twist with a look of grief, eyes going dark as his voice drops, “...I’d rather not speak of her. It still hurts to. It hurts to speak of any of them,” His eyes narrow, grief stricken expression turning somewhat bitter, “...Especially those who throw all you did for them back into your face because they refused to listen when you needed them to most. Even so, I still wish for her happiness. Cullen better be treating her right,” That bitter turns outright malicious, dark eyes going darker as another question is meekly asked, “Father? I have no father. I only had a monster that haunted my childhood, tore my token of devotion apart, and then stalked me in my dreams. So, no. I have nothing to say about that concept.”
Have you ever ran away from home?
He chuckles, “Many, many times,” He throws most of his weight into one side, tilting his head back as if thinking, counting, “I can’t even remember the amount of times I fled into the forests, to be honest. All I know is that it happened weekly, maybe even daily,” He brings his head back, snowy hair moving with the action to brush the tops of his cheekbones, “Why do you look so surprised?” he asks, snorting a bit at the meek response of, ‘Why so often?’, “Because I refused to endure being treated like a beast every hour of the day merely because I believed differently, or rather, not at all.” He sighs within the next moment, “...I wasn’t any better than the Dalish, though. I lashed out, I spat in their face, dragged their heritage through the dirt, inflicted harm from the smallest of things...” He squeezes his arms, eyes narrowing into a glare, but seeming to see through everything, “...The past repeats. An infernal spiral that will never slow.” Would you consider marriage or having children?
“Marriage? Children?” He blinks, pale visage suddenly going flush before he snarls, “Why do I need to answer those questions?!” The blush deepens and he responds despite his displeased expression, muttering and biting the inside of his cheek, “...Damned keen eyed elves. They know, don’t they? I swear if Abelas fucking ran that mouth of his, I’ll--” He sighs heavily, letting his head fall limp a bit in defeat, “...Yes. To both. The latter is already taken care of, as everyone situated in the Crossroads knows, but...” Pointed ears are now a deep shade of red, “...marriage is...on hold. War time isn’t an ideal summer wedding.” His voice drops, eyes shimmering as if he was before the person his heart yearned for, “...The sky deserves a venue better than a garden of death and deceit.” Do you secretly hate one of your friends?
“There were those in the Inquisition who I didn’t exactly see eye to eye with,” he started before shaking his head, “but I didn’t hate anyone. Everyone is entitled to their own views and what they find important.” He scowls a bit, tapping his bicep once again with a finger, “...Even if they didn’t extend the same kindness to me in the beginning. ‘Do you believe in the Maker?’ ‘Do you believe you’re chosen?’ ‘You need to use the people’s faith. It gives them hope.’” He mocks before snorting harshly, “No. No, I don’t. Oh, that suddenly makes me trash? Ohhh. How terrible.” He scoffs. “Disgusting.” Which friend knows everything about you?
“Solas,” He says within a heart beat before clearing his throat, shifting his gaze away sheepishly, “He knows me without and within.” Emerald and gold blaze as the orbs go wide, the blush of roses coming back in full force, “Wait, wait, wait! I didn’t mean--! Fuck! You better wipe that shit eating grin off your face, elf, or I swear I’ll do it for you!” He growls in frustation, throwing his hands in the air, “Why did I agree to this? What fucking dragon entertains an interview!? This is worst than the courts in Arlathan used to be! And that’s saying something!”
Asked by Fans
Are you literate? Have you been to school?
”I am literate. Sometimes to a fault, in fact,” He smiles a bit, “Poetry is my niche; a lingering memory of my mother. So, I speak cryptically at times,” He snorts, amused, “Although, I guess that isn’t much of a surprise since the Elvhen language is riddled in verse rather than practical application. Still, even some of the ancients left have a hard time deciphering my words,” He shrugs, smile turning into a smirk, “They never expected a dragon to be able to talk, I guess. Well, ta-dah.”  The eeriest prediction you made that later came true?
A somber expression flits across his visage and eyes, “...That, eventually, I would hurt the one person I never wanted to.” The corner of his mouth twitches, holding both bitterness and grief; a painful duo, “...And retribution came just as swiftly, but it--” He sighs, shaking his head in defeat before muttering under his breath, “Observe and accept. Observe that what came to pass was uncontrollable, and accept that it had to happen for your path to continue, for your soul to be complete.” What is something you were embarrassingly late to realize?
His face blanks, mouth going into a hard line before a sigh exits through his nose slowly, “...That I don’t have tail.” He snarls, blank expression twisting in warning, “Laugh, elf. Do it.” He nods in the next second when no sounds of amusement come forth, expression going stoic once more, “That’s what I thought. You try living centuries in one form and then transitioning. See what happens.” Do you have mental health or physical issues?
He nods, sighing tiredly. “Like my names, I have a lot.” A hand motions to his body lazily, “My entire body is littered in scars, inflicted through crude experiments by an abomination that sought power like so many others,” He expression sours, jaw working back a forth, “They’ve calmed over the years, but the memories are not so kind.” He sighs, trying to calm himself and lifts his left hand; the Anchor glowing faintly and his eyes watch it, “I have an illness, or rather, sensitivity to any Fade born essence. That, too, has calmed and I’m grateful for that. As for my mind..” He trails off, grimacing a bit as if suddenly in pain, “...Visualize the Void, and there’s your answer. Black walls with crimson torches, seats empty, but somehow wanting for memories to take their seats. However, those occupants never come, burnt to ash by fury’s flame. That’s my mind in a nutshell.” What is your current main goal?
He raises his eyebrows, pursing his lips, “Mm, as of right now, I’m busy helping Solas unlock the eluvians that he couldn’t while I was away,” He flexes his marked hand, watching it with a look of determination in his eyes, “That’ll take time, but after, my people, my kin will have their skies back. I won’t let this power be squandered, and I won’t let the key that I’ve been entrusted with fall into the wrong hands.” His face hardens further, “For if that key rusts, the locks break and the sky will blacken as surely as the earth will redden.”
Choices
Drink or food?
“Drinks.” He says with ease, shrugging, “Food is comforting, especially sweets, but a glass of rum or ale, or a cup of chamomile tea really pounds the word ‘relaxation’ into my head.” Cats or dogs?
He smiles, warmth caressing its edges, “You’ve seen Nislean wandering about the halls, laying on the window sills and curling up in front of the fire,” He hums suddenly, crossing his arms again, “Which reminds me, I need to go out of the Crossroads for milk. I’ll be getting more than five bottles this time.” Optimist or pessimist?
“Depends on who you ask,” He shrugs, seeming unbothered, “I’m neither from a personal standpoint. I try to see the bright spots, but shadows can be very persistent.”   Sassy or sarcastic?
He snorts, “Ask Fen’harel,” his voice is light upon the title, playfully mocking in its deepness, “He knows all about that side. Although, he would label it, ‘insufferable’. I would call myself dryly sarcastic, though.”
Have You Ever
Been caught sneaking out?
He purses his lips, “Hmm. Not that I can recall,” he says slowly before his brows jumped and his eyes lit up with memory, “Oh! Wait. There was that one time where I was with Solas and Mythal in a...courtyard, I think?” He shrugs before shrugging, “Doesn’t matter. But, I tried to slip away, tail and all, and I...may have shattered one or two or three eluvians trying to get to the balcony.” He somewhat wistfully, smirking, “Elgar’nan got fucking stuck in a far off settlement for a week, though. Completely worth getting my horn chewed off by a wolf.” Broken a bone?
“Surprisingly, no.” He huffs in amusement, “Wonder of wonders, truthfully.” Received flowers?
“I have,” He scowls, rolling his eyes and shaking his head in disgust, “but I always throw them into the fire. Most are from suitors, those who don’t know what the fuck ‘taken’ means.” Ghosted someone?
His face tightens, completely deadpan, “...No?”, he says, voice raising in question a bit, “At least I don’t believe so. But, then again...oh.” He blanks further, “...Oh. I understand the term now. You mortals are forever twisting the languages, aren’t you? I can’t keep up, but the answer is still no.” Pretended to laugh at a joke you didn’t get?
“Maybe once or twice, but I don’t ‘laugh’ per say.” He huffs through his nose deliberately, “I do that; a puff of air. Some habits are never truly able to be broken. No matter the form.”

How to Build a World?
Some time ago, I answered a writing question as Quoth the Raven that dealt with how to go about Worldbuilding for your story (Found Here). I’ve now rewritten the piece because I was struck with inspiration for a much more poetic form. I rather like it this way... ______________________________________________________________ Every story has to start somewhere. Some start with an endless void, a dark abyss where spirits drift over the waters, an egg which has not yet hatched to reveal the universe contained within. But in my opinion the best beginnings are found on a blank page.
Sing an ode to the whiteness of a screen, to the sterile form of an unfilled notebook amidst a pile of notebooks you keep buying but never write in. I call upon thee, oh Muses, let the divine speak into the shadows and let there be light. Fountains may spring up from the deeps and the oceans pay homage to the moon above. I am but a humble supplicant to the gods of paper and ink, where multiverses of verse and prose are crafted from words alone.
A world must be made through the number seven. Seven days, seven dwarfs, seven epochs, seven sins, seven virtues, seven founding principles of building a world.
The First is of Magic. All worlds begin with magic in a way. You can call it by any name you desire; Nature, physics, deity. First a word is spoken, a rule, a way of being. Whether the universe is filled with blinding empty light and shaded to sight by suns of shadow and fires that burn black enough to repel the light of night, or if the endless skies are oceans where planets drift in bubbles of air and stars keep the endless ice of the galactic abyss at bay with their warmth.
It is a question of how your world works, a list of rules that cannot be broken by even you as the rest of the pieces fall into place. A willing suspension of disbelief is a fragile thing. If it breaks, you are dashed to pieces beneath the weight of fallen expectations. A reader betrayed is rarely forgiving to those who have broken their own laws.
So write, write of the shifting of stars and the fundamental forces of love and duty. In your canon proclaim the laws of wind and gravity, atoms of justice, and the blessed radiation of whimsy and wonder.
But once you have finished, and the last law carved upon the last stone atop your own Sinai, you must heed them always. From gods to grains of sand on a distant shore, none can break these commandments.
When you speak a second time, it is of Place. Of mountains and mayhem, of vast oceans where secrets lie forgotten far beneath the waves.
Reach out your hand to carve canyons from the paragraphs on the page, riverbeds that flow swift and pure into great lakes and down into silent aquifers below the very earth itself. Whether one sun, or seven, or none at all, this world must be made known through careful descriptions and prose.
And as long as it does not contradict your rules, you can have islands that fly through the skies, glass rain, giant geodic structures that have never seen the light of a single day. What of glaciers that chill the whole land into an ice age? Or a supervolcano that belches molten glass from its summit?
Then, as your world is forming, think on the third principle of building a world. Life.
Deep down in the depths of the darkest seas you might form creatures so alien they defy the very mind, drifting on currents and living without sun or sky, only in eternal shadow and crushing pressure. Or you may begin on land instead, with green skinned goblin-like folk who live among the trees and speak in song and melody as they hunt the fire breathing dragonflies. Perhaps even the sky might be your dominion. Pods of whales that swim among the clouds, blowing geysers of wind high into the abyss of blue and white that turns to stars at the highest heights.
Each living thing lies in connection with one another. Eating, growing, changing, moving. Flowers make bioluminescence in forever darkened woods and caverns. Gas filled balloon-like pods could carry creatures high into the sky with them, letting them escape from predators.
Here and now your pen is the fountain that begets creation, your mind is the tree from which all life springs. This world is your garden to cultivate, your Eden cradled between life giving rivers.
Wherever you touch there will be life. In the most scorching of deserts, in the deepest caves and wells, in the furthest canyons, upon the coldest glaciers. And as long as you remain true to your rules of reality, your world can take even the most whimsical of forms. Trees whose roots tangle among the clouds and whose boughs hang down towards the distant earth below, people who can see colors that neither you nor I have ever heard of. Each new thing makes your world more complex, more real, more connected.
Perhaps you know what comes next? In truth it has already begun, for your fourth is of Cognition.
It may be that somewhere in your world there is a creature or plant, perhaps many, or even all, who have tasted that forbidden fruit and became more than they were, became aware that their eyes had been closed and for the first time knew that they could open them and look.
What might it be like? To look out at the world and for the first time see it anew? Before there was survival and safety, food and mating. There was no time for beauty, no time for dreaming, no time for such things when every moment was needed. Yet at some point, there was time, and someone stopped to look. And everything changed.
Most creators prefer the humanoid form when building cognizant peoples, though not all, some few might choose different shapes. Plant, reptile, insect, or even stranger forms the likes of which might not be found here in our world, but only in that world of their making.
But the shape isn’t the important thing. No, what is vitally important is the manner of cognizance. How is it that your people understand the world? What are they aware of? What things can they hear? Or touch? Taste? See? Smell? Or perhaps they have senses that can only be described in roundabout ways to readers who will never entirely understand what it is to perceive in such ways, like blind men who try to know what it is like to see.
Now it is time at last for your fifth. This is the culmination of all things thus far, the laws of reality, the geography, the life, the cognizant peoples… Your fifth is Culture.
Peoples gather together. They make laws to protect or to divide, to ensure and ensnare. They farm or hunt for food, creating new ways with new generations. And best of all they tell stories. Oh those stories. These are the things of which culture is made. Stories that are woven into tapestries or painted into murals, songs are composed to evoke the emotions of such stories, even food is cooked to be eaten as the stories are told.
But there are other things which can affect your peoples and persons. Where do they get their clothing? Animal hides or plant fibers? Perhaps wool or cotton? And how is it obtained? Technology? Magic? Labor? Do the people even wear clothing at all? For some might not find it necessary if they are perfect for the place they dwell in their world.
What foods can they eat? Would you or I even recognize it? Let alone be able to digest it without agonizing pains in our stomachs? A fruit that glows might transfer its glow to those who eat it, giving them light to see in the dark and energy to live another day. Certain beasts are only slaughtered on certain days of the star calendars, for festivals and holy feast days, for ceremonial reasons and never secular ones.
Here is the most dangerous part in your journey, for the building of culture can become a mire or a maze, a labyrinthine pit from whence you can never escape no matter how much you build. Every detail begets another, and cultures are more than any one person can make. World Builder though you are, you still have limitations of your own.
So you look to the sixth, which is history. From whence did they come? And where do their journeys go? And of course, what happened at every step in between? Kings and emperors to the feuds of petty farmers. Did the dragons lay claim to the seven clawed mountains in the forty ninth century or did the Arch Astronomer falsely claim they did so that he might turn his people’s thoughts to southern trade?
Culture takes time to move and once it begins it will not stop. From the grand world point of view to the shortsightedness of individuals, each and every step will be important. Religions and wars, cataclysmic events, heroes, and even plagues. Everything that arises when you add time to the world you have created is history. The world is a living breathing thing that will move on its own if you let it.
The seventh day arrives. Some deities might rest, seeing that all is good. But not you, for your world is made in slavish worship to the Story. A world built so that it might contain, for good or ill, a tale of your telling.
So write, prideful one. Your hubris has driven you to follow in the footsteps of the gods themselves, building a world where before was nothing. It is time to look closer, to follow a single strand of thread in this tapestry you have woven from dreams and shadows.
Now that you have crafted for us an entire world, tell us your tale. We are listening.

Monsters in the Closet
Title: Monsters in the Closet
Summary: “You’re so much nicer when you’re bigger.”
Roman knows he can’t change the past. He can’t change the way he treated Virgil horribly, driving him to feel the only way he could be accepted was to be the villain of the story. But he can sit there and feel guilty knowing he is not worthy of any of the trust this young Virgil has placed in him.
(Part of the Tiny Virgil verse, takes place after An Itsy Bitsy Nightmare)
Word-Count: 2.7k
Pairing: Brotherly Prinixety
Warnings: Guilt, Panic/Anxiety, Treating Someone Wrongfully in the Past, Deaging, Hurt/Comfort
This part of a very late birthday present for @theeternalspace! I’m so sorry this took so long, please forgive me and I hope you enjoy! :)
-
Roman lets out a sigh and opens his eyes. Virgil is still snuggled close to his chest, asleep again after waking up what appeared to be a horrible nightmare. Roman can’t find himself to fall back asleep. His mind refuses to settle, refuses to let go of what Virgil said to him moments ago.
“You’re so much nicer when you’re bigger.”
The words rumble in Roman’s mind like that of a great and fearsome thunderstorm. How could it not? All the more confirmation that regardless of the unfounded trust young Virgil placed in him, he’d still expected to inevitably be treated terribly.
And that? The guilt of that stings deeper than any sting of the blade or a bandersnatch’s ferocious bite.
It also makes him wonder what exactly the Ankle-Terror thought was going on. Kids aren’t stupid. Naïve, yes, but that’s different from being stupid. They’re creative and innovative in ways adults couldn’t dream to be. Plus, they tended to love engaging in-depth conversations about Disney.
Sometimes, Roman misses the days when Thomas was a kid. Back when they were free to run around in the backyard and reimagine the swings as a spaceship or the underneath of the trampoline as the lair of an evil sorcerer. Back when they weren’t bound by inane things such as time constraints and the logistics of translating an idea into a real-world possibility.
He could get Thomas and the others roped in a fantastical make-believe for hours. Weeks even of stretching an incredible imaginary world to its limits. The only things that ever stood in their way was the outside forces of school, parents and bedtime.
Nowadays, the reminiscing with a tinge of regret. There always had to be villains to fight, you see. An evil mad scientist. A corrupt king. A greedy dragon. The list goes on and on. He never ever played the villain. He’d always cast himself and Thomas as the heroes. Logan and Patton were the supporting stars. Virgil and the rest? The villains through and through.
Virgil at this age would be used to this treatment. Rather than in his rightful heroic role as Protector, Defender, Watcher of All Perceived Threats--he played roles such as a wicked sorcerer who cast fear and disgrace upon the entire kingdom with his heinous sorcery.
He took to the roles without much grumbling. Oftentimes, he didn’t perform to young Roman’s expectations. Roman would chastise his performances, critiquing every bit. He wasn’t ever scary or evil enough for a Side responsible for making Thomas scared of monsters under his bed.
Virgil would also veto actions such as climbing super high up a tree and using it as a crow’s nest for a pirate ship. Much to Roman’s dismay, the others would side with him. Logan because Thomas could break a bone if he should fall and Patton because their parents wouldn’t approve. Thus making Virgil a major downer at times in Roman’s eyes and all the more deserving of the villain title.
It wasn’t until Thomas was older, closer to middle school, that Virgil started lashing out. He refused to play along, slinking off to sulk in his room. His influence had also grown and suddenly it wasn’t just monsters under the bed anymore--the monsters were everywhere. Homework, Teachers, Friends, Family. Roman worked overtime to help Thomas escape to worlds unfettered by these fears.
Of course, back then, he presumed this was Virgil fully showing his true colors as an antagonist. Thomas himself believed it, wishing vehemently for Virgil to just disappear. It was Roman’s responsibility, nay his purpose, to make Thomas’s dreams and desires come true. He was the Fairy Godmother to Thomas’s Cinderella. So for years and years he’d pursued this dream, desperate to make Thomas happy, proud even.
Now, he knows better. He knows that Virgil is more than just Anxiety, just like Roman and the others are more than what their title implies. He is vigilant, he keeps Thomas safe from external threats. Sometimes he can be overzealous, but he means well. And shutting him out isn’t the answer. It never was.
With all that in mind, he wonders if the Boy Terror thinks this is one of Roman’s elaborate make-believe games. Roman could easily picture a younger him coming up with a make-believe game involving himself and the others being adults. True, Thomas back then liked envisioning himself as a kid defeating the evil dragon like kids his age did in the media he watched.
But all kids at some point wonder what it’d be like to be an adult. They imagined themselves in the most exciting professions that made a real impact on the world. Then they’d grow up and very few of them made it to such professions.
(Except Thomas of course. Roman is incredibly proud of him and his accomplishments as an Ex-Viner turned Youtuber. Yes, they are still far from achieving feats such as Hollywood or Broadway, but still! For a while Thomas had to settle for a real, sensible job such as a chemical engineer. While science interested him, it didn’t drive him the way that creative pursuits such as singing and acting had. Thomas is lucky to be able to have a platform to do what he loves. Roman tries reminding himself of this during incredibly rare moments of insecurity.)
Kid Fright must be ecstatic about this. For possibly the first time in his life Creativity is including him in a game without making him the villain. Adult Virgil doesn’t talk much about the past--the few times Roman has tried to breach the topic it’d been an instant shutdown.
But Virgil has always cared for them, even before they’d all realized this. He must’ve taken any part Roman gave him out of a desperation to be with them and keep them safe. It sickens Roman just thinking about it. He doesn’t know how Virgil stayed strong for so long. Roman doesn’t know if he could’ve lasted a day in Virgil’s place.
He is probably also terrified and waiting for the other shoe to drop. Regardless of his age, Virgil always expects the worst out of any scenario. Even now that’s been a year since he’s been accepted among the core sides that make up Thomas. He can’t help it, it’s in his nature. Roman can’t blame him for it. One year isn’t enough to undo the damages that the other twenty-nine years caused.
One thing is for certain: if he does think this is one of Roman’s make-believe games, he must think Thomas is still a kid. And Roman’s not sure if he should let Virgil know any different. In fact, it might be best to keep Virgil distracted while the others work to find the solution to this strange vexing problem. Because he knows Virgil won’t take it well to finding his host all grown-up. He thinks that none of them would in his place.
So he’ll keep Fall Out Kid safe away in the mindscape and continue being the Prince he deserved. He’ll allow Virgil to be the hero and he’ll play all the other roles. Sidekick, damsel-in-distress, villain--if he must. It’s silly, but he’s almost buzzing with excitement at all the worlds they could explore from within the common area. Cowboys, Spaceship, Space Cowboys. The possibilities are endless!
A small hand tugs at his sleeve, tugging him away from his thoughts altogether. He looks down at the inquisitive eyes slightly shrouded by a mop of dirty blond hair.
“Yes, little prince?” He says, trying to blink away the prickling sensation in his eyes.
He refuses to cry again in front of the Little Shop of Terror. He knows he will have to confront his bubbling guilt and sorrow at some point, but for now he must push it aside. He is used to this. Being a hero means sometimes remaining strong and not showing vulnerability to loved ones.
“M’hungry.” Virgil murmurs into his chest, little arms wrapped around Roman’s neck. It’s almost endearing with how much he resembles a baby possum clinging to their mother. Roman isn’t used to a Virgil so physically affectionate.
Virgil is like a feral cat. You couldn’t hug or pat him on the shoulder without warning. You had to ask and very rarely did he accept, even if it came from Patton. No, the best way is to let him initiate it. Let him lean his head against your shoulder, or his leg overlapping your own during a movie night.
You also don’t acknowledge it and by not acknowledging it, Virgil then inches his way more until it grows into a proper hug. Then he would withdraw and promptly act like nothing  happened. Like you were to forget the interaction ever occured in the first place.
Logan has a theory that it’s because Virgil is the Fight-or-Flight instincts and physical affection lowers his guard in a way he isn’t completely comfortable with. Roman now has a theory that it’s a lot more heartbreaking than that.
“You’re hungry?” Roman asks, attempting to steer his mind out of Despairing Drive and into Present Place.
A small growling noise occurs and Jack Smallington ducks his head down, embarrassed.
Roman isn’t entirely surprised considering that it’s been about eight hours since they discovered approximately five-year-old Virgil in the place of grown-up Virgil. Who knows how long he’d been like that, alone in his room, before that. Virgil also rarely eats so the poor kid probably woke up hungry.
Roman feels so stupid. If it’d been Patton or Logan watching him, the first thing they would’ve made sure is if he was hungry. Because kid or not, it isn’t in Virgil’s nature to be self-advocating. That type of stuff freaks him out. Yet another reason Roman is completely unqualified to watch over Virgil.
“Okay,” Roman breaths in, smiling, “thanks for letting me know, big guy. To the kitchen at once!”
With that, he hoists Virgil up, settling him on top of his shoulders. There’s a squawk of surprise and Roman’s almost worried until it turns into a gleeful giggle. When Roman lets out a neigh, pretending he’s a horse, Virgil’s giggles grow louder.
“You’re not a horse,” Virgil says.
“Neigh I am!” Roman says, “I am your trusty steed and we’re embarking on a perilous-but-completely-safe journey to the kitchen!”
He treks towards the kitchen, clicking his tongue in an imitation of a horse clip-clopping along.
“Faster,” Virgil urges, resting his hands on top of Roman’s head.
“Faster?” Roman asks, almost stopping in surprise.
“Yeah!” Virgil insists, “We gotta get there as fast as possible before any monsters come and eat us!”
“Never fear,” Roman says, “For I shall get us there before any monster even thinks of gobbling us up!”
With that Roman quickens his pace, ensuring he had a firm hold onto Virgil to keep him falling off.
“Faster, faster, faster!” Virgil chants in an anxious yet excited tone, “I think I see one!”
“Oh?” Roman turns his head back, “Oh, I see him too! Neigh, we better hurry!”
There isn’t an actual monster there. No sharp fangs or numerous eyes glaring menacingly in their direction. He can’t tell if Virgil is making up a game or if he actually believes there is one there. Either way, Roman is Creativity. If there’s one thing he knows best, it’s how to combat imaginary foes. Such as reaching the threshold of the kitchen.
With one great bound, he makes it onto the black-and-white checkered tiles.
“Aha! Now no monsters can attack us while we feast in the dwelling of this noble kitchen!” Roman grins, setting Virgil atop the kitchen counter before jumping up to sit beside him.
Virgil beams up at him, face wide with utter delight and awe. Roman is left dumbfounded at this. Even as a kid, Virgil had been very closed-off with his emotions. So shy and distrustful of everyone and everything. But here he looks at Roman like he’s some great hero or something.
‘How,’ Roman wonders, ‘how can you look at me like this when I’m the obstinate villain of this story?’
“Princey,” Virgil swings his legs, “won’t Dad be upset if he finds us sitting on the counter?”
Roman blinks. At first he thinks Virgil is referring to Thomas’s father until he remembers Patton also goes by Dad. For the longest time, Pat had even been insistent that was his name. In the way that young children believe their parents’ real names really are Mom and Dad.
“Well,” Roman says, offering a pinky, “I won’t tell if you won’t.”
“Okay.” Virgil hesitates before interlocking his tiny pinky with Roman’s.
“Excellent! Now what would you like to eat?”
“Ummmm, I--I don’t know.” Virgil bites his lips, eyes flickering around the kitchen. Roman’s heart squeezes at this. He should’ve known such an open-ended question would set his anxiety off. They’ve learned recently that it was better giving Virgil the option of clearly-defined choices rather than vague ones.
“Would you like grilled cheese or spaghetti?” He asks kindly instead.
“Grilled cheese? With applesauce?” Virgil doesn’t meet his gaze, as if afraid Roman will condemn his choices.
Roman smiles, “Your wish is my command.”
He could’ve just snapped the food into existence right then and there. A few years back, it would’ve been enough to suffice. But as much as the Sides influence Thomas, the same holds true the other way around. Thomas once saw a fanart of Patton cooking breakfast for the sides and the idea stuck.
Now Roman could still summon fully prepared meals but they weren’t super filling. Roman didn’t mind too much; contrary to popular belief (Logan) cooking could be a very creative endeavor. As Thomas’s creativity he could make up steps to dishes and still have them turn out perfect in the end. He may or may not enjoy it simply because it frustrated Logan to no end.
He hops off the kitchen counter, snapping a finger. Instantly cabinet doors magically open as the ingredients and the materials he needed floated out onto the countertop beside the stove. Okay, so he cheated a bit, but just because the others lacked a little imagination didn’t mean he couldn’t bend reality in a place where reality is inconsequential.
Roman turns to Virgil, unable to hide his smile at Virgil’s gobsmacked expression.
“Here, you can help put butter on the bread,” He tells Virgil, handing him a butter knife.
Grilled cheese sandwiches are a quick and easy meal. Before too long, Roman hands the kid a plate with a plain grilled cheese cut in halves and a cup of prepackaged apple sauce.
“Thank you,” Virgil squeaks out before digging in.
“Of course.” Roman says, resisting the urge to ruffle the Little Terror’s hair. Instead he takes a bite of his own grilled cheese. Admittedly, he went a bit overboard with his own grilled cheese sandwich; three different types of cheese with lettuce, tomato and pickles. He isn’t quite sure if he’s a fan of the pickles but ah well. So it goes when in the pursuit of creativity.
They eat on top of the kitchen counters with relative silence. Roman hums a bit between bites of grilled cheese. Halfway through, he notices Virgil sending him glances when he thinks Roman isn’t looking. The kid squirms a bit in place, his face twisting in apprehension.
“Is there something troubling you, Little Prince?” Roman asks at last.
“Princey, where are the others? A--are they okay?!”
Oh. Oh, of course. Roman’s heart aches knowing how much Virgil worries and cares for everyone, even at such a young age. He’s so quick to reassure him that he doesn’t even pause to think about the phrasing of his words.
“They’re perfectly fine, rest assured. Logan is shut away in his room reading like the insufferable nerd he is and Patton is simply checking up on our dear Thomas--”
“Thomas?” Virgil breathes in, eyes bright with alarm. His shoulders raise to his ears like hackles raising on a frightened cat.
It is at this moment Roman knew that he messed up.
“Virgil, wait--” Roman pleads, attempting to place a placating hand on his shoulder.
Roman is too late. His hand meets air as Virgil disappears in front of him with a loud crackle. All that’s left is a plate of half-eaten grilled cheese clattering to the countertops and a terror that shakes the entirety of the mindscape.

Here I am. The anon who enables. The enabler anon. Send forth your RWBY verses' rambles *opens arms wide to receive* (only if you want to of course)
ANON WHO ENABLES. ENABLER ANON. BLESS.
Wolfcury:
-Blake isn’t sure what to expect of her new teammates, but Ruby having a GIANT WOLFDOG is not one of them. It takes- a long time for Blake to not flinch and throw herself onto something high whenever Mercury shows up, even though he TRIES to not be a gremlin and bark or prank her.
-Weiss lasts maybe three days before she breaks out the baby talk. Because while Mercury is big he’s still a dog and we’ve seen how Weiss responds to Zwei. Mercury is annoyed by the baby talk and ignores her until Ruby convinces Weiss to “please just talk normally”. Then he will permit the scratching of ears.
-Weiss and Blake are both going to be SO SHOCKED (and upset) that Mercury is actually a person and they were never told.
-Ruby gets super into prosthetics and the building of them because of Mercury. She knows they can get him a prosthetic human leg, but it’s not going to transform into a wolf leg when he does. That technology just- doesn’t exist in that specific way yet. So Ruby decides at age ten or so that she’s gonna make one.
-Ruby: It’s transform when you do and it’ll be great and it’s also gonna be a *gun*.
-Mercury: Ruby I have teeth and claws, I don’t need a gun for a leg.
-Ruby, excitedly drawing prototype blueprints: GUNLEG.
-She does in fact build him a transforming gunnel with Velvet’s help. Mercury is a goodnatured Sigh.
-MercuryxEmerald is the eventual ship planned, and Yang teases him mercilessly for it once she’s sure Emerald is serious about defecting to the good guys. I’m also dabbling in Rosegarden (is that the ship name? OscarxRuby) because the idea of Ruby going from “ew crushes” to having one of her own amuses the heck out of me.
Always I Dreamed (Raven AU):
-Raven has a propensity for adopting things, as evidenced by Ozpin and later Emerald. But it doesn’t stop with them, and her habits are infectious. At various points in Yang’s childhood, she gets a gruff ex-assassin sibling from Mom (Mercury), two adorable cousins from Uncle Qrow (Ren and Nora), one angry older sister bandit (Vernal), a Cool Big Sister Figure with Fire Powers (Amber), and of also another Big Sister with Many Issues of The Anger that Raven carefully helps her work through. This particular big sister is a fav of Ruby’s because she can make cool toys from black glass.
-Yes Raven is fixit adopting Cinder
-No I didn’t see that coming either, neither did Raven. It just kinda- happened.
-Raven absolutely sings RWBY songs sometimes. Usually “Home” as a sibling lullaby for Qrow and later Team STORQ, then later All Our Days for her kids. But sometimes she can be heard humming other themes under her breath.
Azur verse:
-I’ve mentioned that Ozpin is a former Khara and proceeds to adopt Azur the feral Khara child, but I can’t resist touching on how Azur and Qrow meet.
-Azur is feral bby. He woke up in this world in the wilds and his Semblance (or magic, Oz is still not sure which it is) saved him from Grimm, and Azur tended to follow Grimm everywhere because they kept the other predators away. So this child is very feral when Oz finally coaxes him into his house. Azur is also protective and dedicated and knows that the only two people who come here are Ozdad and Housekeeper Lady.
-So when Qrow, very drunk and newly returned from a mission, decides to crash on Oz’s couch, Azur doesn’t have a clue that this is normal and fine. Cue Qrow being attacked and knocked out by a very persistent and angry 7-10 year old.
-Ozpin comes home to a trashed living room, a very proud Azur, and a Qrow who has been tied up using every bit of rope, string, or wire Azur could find and is nursing both a concussion and a hangover.
-Ozpin unties Qrow and explains he’s welcome here once he’s stopped laughing himself sick.
Dragon Yang:
-Yang really likes Ozpin. *Really* likes him. It’s not a crush or anything, but she went from a world soaked in magic to Remnant which has barely any left and it makes her feel off balance and numb. Then she goes to Beacon and the Headmaster HAS MAGIC. She can feel it. So she starts to heavily gravitate toward him when possible because he feels “normal”
-Ozpin, who has been the object of many school hood crushes, takes a bit to realize that Yang is not yet another student with a crush. And then he’s confused on why she keeps falling into his orbit when possible.
-He has no idea that in this magic-starved world, he is basically the living equivalent of dragon slayer catnip.
-Oznip.
-Ruby also thinks Yang has a crush and is thoroughly grossed out because *Yang he’s a TEACHER*. Yang just laughs at her baby sister’s discomfort.
Noctscar:
-Luna wakes up slowly, in fits and starts and dreams of rain and a knife in her side. She wakes up to the cold, to the loneliness, and then wakes up further because no child should have to deal with this.
-Luna wakes up when she is once again eleven years old and stares at herself in the mirror.
-Weiss Schnee, second daughter of Willow and Jaques Schnee, looks back. And looks *tired*.
-Her sister has already joined Altas academy and is on the fast track to the military, and though she loves her sister, it smacks greatly of Ravus from a lifetime ago and Luna cannot bear to look at Winter sometimes because of it.
-She dotes on her little brother, on poor Whitley who is neither stubborn like Winter or an old soul like Luna and yet is stuck in this abusive, neglectful household. She tries to shield him from mother’s blank stares and father’s sharp bursts of temper. She has lived with bruises like this before, better she take it than Whitley.
-When she is young, she hears on the news in school that there was a mining accident, that a great many Faunus died. While the rest of her classmates titter, one girl who Luna always avoided because she hung out with a crowd Luna didn’t trust, bursts into tears and turns bright blue. The other girls recoil. Luna sits down next to the girl and holds her hand, not hiding the tears falling from her own face at the thought of such massive loss of life.
-She never sees the Faunus girl again, but it is a wake up call. A reminder that something is very likely *wrong* with her father’s company. So she investigates.
-She is twelve the first time she sneaks out in a hoodie and a little painted theater mask. She makes it all the way down to Mantle, and there she reaches for blistered hands and weary souls. She is no longer an Oracle, but magic is of the soul and she remembers it well. When she calls, golden magic answers. She heals until she is exhausted, and somehow she manages to make it home without falling over or getting caught by Klein. She does it again, in between recitals and school and taking care of Whitley, she continues to sneak down to Mantle. Never speaking, never showing her face (they would hate her for her blood if they knew, she knows, reject her help if they saw her white hair and blue eyes), but always helping and healing where she can.
-The people of Mantle name her. Ghost, they call her.
-Moon Angel, the Faunus whisper. Helper, healer, lost soul.
-When she is thirteen, Luna signs up to a combat school despite her father’s disapproval. When Whitley clings to her in fear that she too will abandon him as Winter has (Winter visits to rarely, and always her attention rests solely on Weiss when she does and it makes Luna so *angry*), Luna tells him her plan. She will become a Huntress, and when she has her license, nothing will stop her from coming and taking him away from this place. She will be able to make money to provide for them, to free them from this cold palace of finery and recitals and empty wine bottles and bruises under their clothes in the shape of a man’s hands.
-When she is seventeen she applies to Beacon rather than Atlas, in defiance more than desire. She bids Whitley goodbye and promises once again to come back for him, he just needs to hold on a little longer.
-There is faith in his eyes as he waves her off. Luna died keeping her word, her duty, in another life. She will do no less here.

i was never really into the jonsa ship, but that post of yours has got me really interested... do you have any fave fics of them??
welp, we’re going old-school, lads. prepare for some of my favourite fandom throwbacks well, I failed at that, I put some of the newer things on the list, too
CANON-VERSE:
Now You See Me: Kissed by fire, Ygritte thought to herself, just like me.
Goodbye Means Going Away (And Going Away Means Forgetting): Memory is unreliable. No one understands this better than Rickon Stark.
Take My Crown Away (Don’t Smile So Sweetly, My Love): A world where everything is easier. Except for those who love, and love too much.
Build a Ladder to the Stars: Jon abandons the Night’s Watch to join Robb’s cause. After rescuing Sansa from King’s Landing, he and Sansa find themselves in a relationship they never saw coming.
A Winter’s Tale: The War of Three Dragons comes to the Vale, bringing Jon Snow and Sansa Stark together once more.
The Winter of Our Discontent: In the end it is Jon and his men of the Night’s Watch who come to take her back to Winterfell.
tell me true (who are you): Ned Stark brought a dark-haired, grey-eyed bastard babe home and called him son. Years later, Jon Targaryen does the same.
Lift Me Like an Olive Branch and Be My Homeward Dove: She never dreams of Jon Snow but in the end he is the one that comes for her under a Targaryen banner, the might of Winterfell and the North behind him with their father’s sword on his back.
The Whispering Ghosts (Left You Out In The Cold): Winter came and brought Jon home. [this is the first Jonsa fic I ever read, boy, did it fuck me up]
A Bronze Crown: In the end there are no knights. In the end Sansa must rescue herself. Based on the prompt: he doesn’t ride to her rescue; she comes north with her granduncle and the armies of the Vale to wage war on the Boltons, save his life and teach his assassins and the Boltons a sharp lesson.
how ruthless are the gentle*: “Yes, I do.” The easiest lie he’s ever told, by far. It came so naturally, he hardly thought of it as false. “She’s easy to love.”
Tell the Ones That Need to Know (We Are Headed North)*: After years of confinement in the Red Keep with Ned prisoner in the black cells, the Dragon Queen comes. With the knowledge that Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen, she agrees to let the Starks return to Winterfell only if Jon marries one of the Stark daughters. Sansa volunteers so they can all go home. Soon she figures out being married to Jon isn’t bad, but it is complicated.
Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things*: We know no King, but the King in the North whose name is Stark.
Dragons of Red, Dragons of White*: An AU where the Battle of the Trident took place, but just between Rhaegar Targaryen and Robert Baratheon. Their duel and its outcome have ramifications that none could foresee. In the world built afterwards, dragons once again rule and roam Westeros, among them the son of a northern beauty and the king. Prince Jon and his kin, Stark and Targaryen alike, face new challenges from both without and within. Whatever the future holds, the Seven Kingdoms will learn that, whether in a coat of red or a coat of white, a dragon still has claws.
A Knight’s Watch: Jon Snow is forbidden to take the black by his father. Instead he sent to squire for a famous knight, beginning a long arduous journey that causes him to cross paths with characters he never would have. Along the way he learns truths long hidden and discovers love in the most unlikely of places.
The Conquest*: Three hundred years after Aegon the Conqueror built a new empire on the ashes of the Valyrian Freehold the known world is a place of war. The Targaryen Empire is pressed by enemies, the Seven Kingdoms war amongst themselves and forces contrive to pull them all apart.
Live Without Shame: When Catelyn’s treatment of Winterfell’s Bastard unexpectedly softens, Sansa reconsiders her relationship with Jon. But despite the revelations that ensue, Jon must and will always remain Winterfell’s Bastard and suffer its consequences.
The Tempered Kingdoms*:  After years of wars, death, destruction, politics, and White Walkers, a tentative calm has returned to Westeros partially due to the rulership of King Jon and Queen Daenerys. But politics rues its head again as Stannis Baratheon demands his right to rule, while the former Queen Cersei languishes in a cell, plotting her revenge against all who live above her. Sansa Stark is forced to return to King’s Landing after being found by the rumored lovers Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth.
winterbloom: “You’ve traveled a long way for a rumor.” Sansa lives at the Wall under the protection of her brother Jon Snow, but when Sandor Clegane comes looking for her, she and Jon begin to realize that she is not as safe as they once hoped.
As History Changes: Jon agrees to accompany Stannis south to the Vale and he meets a person he did not expect to meet.
hold onto your heart (you’ll keep it safe): When Sansa turns eleven her wrist burns. She excitedly unwraps the cloth guarding her skin, waiting eagerly for the name to finish forming. The dark letters stop after only three and when Sansa leans in closer she realises that she knows that name and she knows that handwriting already.
carve your heart into mine: Sansa spent many evenings sewing her wedding dress by the fire, dreaming of her husband. The gown spilled out of her hands like a silver river, burning brighter from the light of the flames. She had embroidered it with a noble husband in mind, but she wed her lowborn love in the godswood, with snowflakes falling on her veil.
ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE:
Into the Darkness of the Grave: The tragic death of Eddard Stark’s cousin Lyanna brings her estranged son back to Winterfell House, the family’s old plantation home, for her funeral.
The Other Shoe: If anyone had told Sansa Stark that she would be married to Jon Snow, expecting a child with him at the age of nineteen she would have laughed at them. Not because Jon was a bad person, for he had slowly come out of his shell in the past seven years; not because she was young, her parents were married right out of Hogwarts; simply because Sansa Stark seemed to be the anthesis of a happy ending.
several sunlit days: Everyone knows you don’t date Robb Stark’s sisters unless you want to spend your days avoiding hexes and angry bludgers shot at your head. Too bad Jon’s traitorous feelings could care less.
the unexpected champion: Jon must swim to The Black Lake and retrieve something *cough* Sansa *cough* stolen from him. This task makes him realize who he should invite to the Yule Ball.
Where Did You Sleep Last Night: Sansa needs a new guitarist, Jon needs a new band, and the two of them definitely don’t need each other.
and labor till the work is done: Stark Industries is a family legacy she was hoping to avoid: Robb is a project manager, grooming to eventually be a partner, Arya is a summer intern with Bran sure to follow next year and Rickon in another three, and even Jon Snow, who is technically not family but who has been around for as long as Sansa can remember, works as an estimator. But Sansa is not who she was at sixteen or eighteen or even twenty and she’s still in the process of learning what’s truly important, like who she is, who she wants to be, and what kind of people she wants in her life.
One Of The Few Things: Jaime and Sansa spend a lot of time pining over Brienne and Jon together. Sometimes, they actually even do their jobs.
flower shaped heart*: Alayne Stone has lived her whole life in her hidden tower, forbidden by Mother to leave. But she yearns for an adventure like the ones in the songs, so when a man named Jon Snow crashes into her tower and into her life, she seizes the chance. They travel to King’s Landing where the floating lanterns shine each year on her nameday. The new world is exciting and frightening, but Jon Snow is there to guide her every step. He is not nearly as terrible as Mother said men are, though the rest of the world might be. Danger, betrayals, and lies form the steps of their journey as Alayne uncovers terrible secrets.
Crawl up to my Room: Jon left her side after a few moments of silence and she watched him leave with a quiet thought playing in her mind. He was her stepbrother for only a few hours, and she already found herself utterly fascinated and irritated with Jon Stark.
in the summer, as the lilacs bloom: “You did tech in high school,” Sansa points out. (Yeah, I did tech because you were playing the lead and I was in love with you.) Jon doesn’t tell her that, though. Of course not. Instead he agrees to spend his summer stage managing this passion project of hers, and some trace of his seventeen-year-old self has dried out his throat at the thought of three months’ constant contact with Sansa.
Down from the Mountain: Sansa flies home from college after her older brother Robb, one of the country’s hottest young pitchers, is hurt in a car accident. Robb’s best friend Jon is there to help the Stark family in any way he can.
Little Bed in the Big Woods: “I stared at him for a solid five minutes because he looked like what I imagine god would look like if god was a lumberjack.”
A Game of Stars*: When the Mad Emperor hears that the Starks are Force-sensitive, he discovers the hidden rebel base on Hoth. He sends Jon there with one order: Burn them all. But bring the Stark children to Coruscant. It’s time for the two most powerful Force bloodlines in the galaxy to merge.
I’ll Pack My Goods for the Arkansas Woods*: When Sansa’s brother goes missing, it falls to her to defend the house and the woods against the greed of the Boltons and Freys. All of this would be much easier if she could fight fire with fire, and there’s a saying in the valley: that all the Starks are a little wild, and all the Targaryens are a little mad. Her cousin Jon just happens to be both.
In the Face of Death: On a long list of things Jon never expected, Sansa came top.
United States of Irreversible Oblivion: With the government losing its fight at the northern border, Sansa’s only hope is that one of its soldiers, Office Jon Snow, will return for her and save her from the horrors of a collapsing society.
remember me love when i’m reborn: ‘Longest Night’ has biggest night in hollywood history. “Joffrey wanted someone to make him famous, and as soon as Sansa wrote a movie for him that did just that, he left her in the dirt.”
Hear the Wolf*: The Starks are in Hogwarts. Sansa has to learn to stand up to her ex-boyfriend and Jon has to learn to face his past. They’re determined to do it alone. Will they ever admit they’re stronger together?
Somewhere in the Winter Woods*: Lost on her way to her grandmother’s cabin in the winter woods after running away from home, beautiful young Sansa thinks she’s run into trouble when she crosses a white wolf in the forest. Instead of harming her, the animal guides her to his master, a handsome warrior named Jon who lives in solitude and clothes himself in black.
* marks the ongoing stories.
