Forever (Fluff)

Pairing: Kim Taehyung x Reader

A/N: I'm not Korean, so I'm sorry to K-Army, please feel free to correct me if there's anything wrong.

The sky was painted in brilliant reds, pinks and purples, no photo could ever do justice. I never tore my eyes away from the sunset, even as I rose my warm cup of hot chocolate to my lips, taking in a long sip of the beverage, sighing contently.

“It’s so peaceful out here,” I spoke, cradling the ceramic mug in my hands.

“It sure is.” Taehyung agreed, “I wish I could capture this moment forever.”

Humming in agreement, I cuddled further into his side as we lay on the lounge. A peaceful silence surrounded us, birds singing their songs and our content sighs, the only sounds.

“I have an idea.” Tae’s cheerful voice rang, breaking the silence.

“What is it?” I questioned, tilting my head to move my gaze to his face, he was still staring at the sunset.

“If you lay on your stomach, could I draw your back and you can try to guess what I’m drawing?” He then drew his gaze away from the sunset, looking into my eyes, the smile on his face making him seem childlike.

“Sounds fun. Let’s do it.” I agreed, placing my now empty mug on the small table, I moved my body to lay down on the lounge, as Tae moved to sit atop the backs of my thighs.

Taehyung started by running his hands up and down my back, I sighed deeply and relaxed further into the plush cushions. Uttering one word, he then started tracing shapes upon my back. Closing my eyes, to picture the shapes, I murmured my answers into the open, earning a giggle as confirmation each time. He changed the patterns to words in Hangul, once through the shapes, tracing each of the boys’ names, including his own.

This time each correct answer, Taehyung rewarded me with softly placed kisses along my spine.

“Okay, guess the next two words,” Tae said calmly.

“Is that ‘will’?” I asked curiously, trying to picture the word in my head. Tae hummed his approval, as he kissed along my shoulder, before tracing the next word. “That feels like ‘you’.”

“You’re good at this, baby. Just another two words left.” Tae murmured against my shoulder, then he drew back, sitting up on my thighs.

After a few moments, he hadn’t moved, I looked over my shoulder and saw that he was holding something. Tae allowed me to roll over onto my back, before lifting his gaze from what he was holding to my eyes.

“What were the last two words I wrote on your back?” He asked after talking a deep breath to calm his nerves, heart nearly Jimin out of his chest.

“Will you,” I started, curiosity rising within. Tae nodded, then took another deep breath.

“Marry me?” He finished, raising his hand to present a small, opened box before my eyes.

Tears welled up in my eyes, I nodded not trusting my voice. Pushing the ring onto my finger, Tae leaned down, tears falling onto his cheek as he smiled, he caught my lips in a sweet, loving kiss.

마그누스 효과 유체 속에서 물체가 회전하면서 특정방향으로 운동할 때 물체가 그 이동속도의 수직 방향으로 힘을 받아 경로가 휘어지는 현상을 마그누스 효과라고 부른다 (그림 1). 구기 스포츠에서 공을 회전시킴으로써 의도적으로 궤적이 휘어지게 하는 기술에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 그림 1. 마그누스 효과 (출처) 마그누스 효과는 1852년 독일의 물리학자인 마그누스(Heinrich Magnus)가 발표한 현상이다. 그러나 그 훨씬 이전인 1672년 뉴턴(Isaac Newton)이 캠브리지 대학에서 테니스 선수를 관찰한 후에 그 원인을 정확히 분석했다고 한다. 또한 1742년에는 영국의 수학자인 로빈스(Benjamin Robins)가 마그누스 효과를 이용하여 소총 탄환의 궤적 변화를 설명하기도 하였다.야구 경기에서 투수가 공을 던질 때 공을 쥐는 방법을 달리하여 마그누스 효과를 활용하여 공의 회전에 변화를 줌으로써 원하는 방향으로 휘어지는 변화구를 만들 수 있다. 탁구에서는 공의 질량과 밀도가 낮기 때문에 마그누스 효과가 쉽게 발생하며, 숙련된 탁구 선수는 공에 다양한 스핀을 주어 복잡한 형태로 공을 휘어지게 할 수 있다. 스핀을 주기위하여 탁구 라켓의 표면을 고무로 만든다. 축구에서도 마찬가지로 공 중앙보다 오른쪽을 차면 공이 반시계 방향으로 회전하고 마그누스 힘은 왼쪽으로 작용하여 공이 왼쪽으로 휘어진다. 반면 공 중앙보다 왼쪽을 차면 공은 시계 방향으로 회전하고 마그누스 힘은 오른쪽으로 작용하여 볼이 오른쪽으로 휘어진다. 이러한 공의 경로 변화는 골키퍼가 예측하기 어려우므로 공격수가 골을 넣기 위한 유용한 전략이 된다. 그림 2. 투수가 공을 쥐는 방법에 따라 다른 회전을 주며 던지면 마그누스 효과에 의해 휘어지게 할 수 있다. (출처) 그림 3. 축구공을 차는 위치에 따라 바뀌는 회전 방향에 의해 마그누스 힘을 받아 휘어지는 공의 진로 (출처: 한국물리학회) 마그누스 효과를 이용하면 돛대 대신 대형 원통과 로터를 이용한 배를 만들 수 있다. 1920년대 초반 독일의 플레트너(Anton Flettner)는 수면 아래 장착된 로터가 대형 원통들을 회전시킨다. 이로 인해 원통에 바람이 불면 마그누스 효과에 의해 수평 방향의 편향력을 받아 밀리게 된다. 예를 들어 바람이 오른쪽으로 불고 원통이 시계방향으로 회전하면 원통의 앞쪽은 원통의 회전 방향과 같은 방향으로 공기가 지나가므로 공기 저항이 작아져 기압이 낮아지고, 원통 뒤쪽은 반대로 원통의 회전 방향과 반대 방향으로 공기가 지나가므로 공기 저항이 커져 기압이 높아진다. 따라서 배의 앞쪽으로 마그누스 힘을 받으므로 앞쪽으로 추진된다. 바람이 왼쪽으로 불 경우는 반대로 원통을 반시계 방향으로 회전시키면 앞쪽으로 추진된다. 이처럼 마그누스 효과를 이용하면 효율적인 풍력 에너지 선박을 만들 수 있으며, 같은 규모의 선박들보다 최대 25% 정도의 연료를 절약할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 그림 4. 플레트너 로터를 이용한 배의 작동 원리 (출처) 마그누스 효과는 탄도에서도 발견된다. 탄환이 회전하면 바람과 같은 공기의 움직임으로 인해 위나 아래 방향으로 마그누스 힘이 발생하여 충격 지점이 바뀔 수도 있다. 그러나 탄환은 굉장히 빠른 속도로 날아가기 때문에 마그누스 힘이 공기 항력 등에 비해 크지 않아 궤적이 크게 변하지 않으며 탄환의 진행에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 것은 중력이다. 조조-황제의 반란 감독판 풍류를 즐기는 황제로 인해 왕조는 몰락할 위기에 처하지만 시대의 권력을 가진 조조(주윤발)의 충성으로 간신히 명맥을 유지하고 있다. 이러한 상황 속에서 조조가 황제의 자리를 노리고 있다는 소문이 퍼지게 되고 황실에서는 암암리에 그를 암살 할 계획이 세워진다. 그리고 그가 머물고 있는 가장 아름답고 화려한 궁궐인 동작대로 고도의 훈련을 받은 암살단이 쳐들어 오는데…

1. 이번 체육대회 때는 지금까지와 다르게 아이들과 함께 목이 쉬어라 응원했다. 올해는 특별하다. 아이들에게 감정적으로 한 발짝 더 가까이 다가서는 담임이 되어보기로 했다. 차가운 관리자가 아니라 뜨거운 리더가 되어 그들의 일상에 슬쩍 끼어들어보기. 6월이 다가오는 지금, 후회는 없다. 나도 즐겁고 아이들도 즐거운 듯하다. 올해 체육대회는 여느 때와 다르게 나와 아이들에게 재미있는 기억으로 남았다.

2. 사람은 어디서든 자기가 앉을 자리를 찾아야 마음을 놓는다고들 한다. 그런 의미에서 체육대회가 항상 불편했다. 애처롭게도 나는 '구기 공포증'이 있다. 그런데 우리 학교 체육대회에 반드시 빠지지 않는 순서가 있으니, '사제 대항 구기 경기'다. 나는 당연하게도 그 경기에 끼지 않아왔다. 그러면 담임반 아이들은 꼭 볼멘소리를 하곤 했다. "선생님은 왜 안 뛰어요? 저희가 응원할 사람이 없어요." 나는 아무렇지 않은 척 그들의 불만을 묵살했지만 속으로는 어쩔 수 없이 무척 불편했다. 체육대회를 반기지 않는 못난 교사. 그게 내 모습이었다.

이번 체육대회 때도 사제 대항 경기에 지원하지 않았다. 그런데 큰일이 났다. 대회 일정에 구멍이 나서 시간을 때우기 위해 사제 대항 경기를 배구 종목으로 한 번 더 하게 된 것. 스피커로 지금까지 경기를 뛰지 않은 선생님들을 찾는 방송이 나왔다. 나는 방송을 못 들은 척하려 했지만 올해 담임반 아이들은 나를 그냥 놔두지 않았다. 대여섯 명이 내 옆에 매달려 애원했다.

"선생님! 선생님도 이번에 뛰어요! 저희를 위해 한 번만 뛰어주세요!"

그런 얘기를 듣고서도 엉덩이를 붙이고 앉아 있을 수 없었다. 배구 코트에 서있는데 심장 고동 소리가 머리까지 울렸지만 어떻게든 열심히 뛰었다. 어떤 아이들은 허우적대는 내 모습에 웃었을지도 모르겠다. 하지만 아무래도 좋았다. 경기 끝나고 나를 맞아주는 아이들 표정이 이렇게 말하고 있었으니까. "고생하셨어요! 괜찮았어요!"

3. 대학생 때 어느 동기 녀석이 술자리에서 한 말이 새삼스럽게 떠오른다.

"우리 학교 애들은 말이야. 결정적 단점이 있어. 자기가 잘 하는 것만 하려고 든다는 거야."

대학교 들어올 때까지 항상 1등을 놓치지 않았거나 1등을 해야만 한다는 압박감에 시달렸을. 그래서일까? 자기가 돋보일 만큼 잘할 자신이 없는 대상에는 도전조차 하지 않으려 하는 습성이 생겼다는 것. 자기가 잘할 자신이 있는 것을 귀신같이 찾아내고 멋지게 잘 해내는 능력은 뛰어나지만, 잘 하지 못할 것 같아서 지레 포기해버린 무언가에 대해서는 지독한 열등감을 가지기도 한단다. 다들 언뜻 근사해 보일지도 모르지만 들여다보면 열등감 덩어리를 발견하게 될지도 모르는. 슬쩍만 건드려도 다른 모든 장점을 와르르 무너뜨릴 수 있는 '약한 고리'를 하나둘씩 갖고 있는 사람들.

그땐 이 말들을 그냥 성급한 일반화의 오류라 생각하고 대수롭지 않게 넘겼다. 나는 그렇지 않다고 생각했다. 하지만 나 또한 그러했다. 아니, 그 녀석의 말에 전형적으로 잘 맞아떨어지는 부류의 사람이었다. 안 그런 척하지만 속으로는 주변 평가에 항상 곤두서있는.가지지 못한, 잘하지 못하는 무언가에 대한 열등감을 무겁게 떠안고 있는 그런 사람.

내 '결정적' 약한 고리는 구기 종목이었다. 어쩔 수 없이 해야만 하는 상황-예를 들면 군대-이 아니라면 축구나 농구나 배구 따위를 먼저 나서서 하려고 하지 않았다. 구경하는 사람들에게 환호 받지 못할 거라면, 주목받지 못할 거라면, 창피 당할 것 같다면 그냥 안 하고 말지라고 생각했다. 그냥 가볍게 즐기면 될 것을 굳이 심각하게 받아들이고 있었다.

나는 구기를 못 한다. 하지만 이번 체육대회 때 선생님들 그리고 제자들과 함께 뛴 경기는 그 자체로 무척 즐거웠다. 어리바리하게 뛰어다니는 내 모습을, 맡겨 놓았던 내 카메라를 들고 우리 반 어떤 녀석이 쫓아다니며 찍어주었다. 기분 좋다. 이 모든 게 무엇을 의미할까? 사실 잘 하고 못 하고를 떠나서 그냥 함께 하는 것만으로도 즐거운 일들이 있고, 그걸 피할 이유가 없다는 것이 아닐까?

내년 체육대회 때는 어떻게 할까? 그땐 빼지 말고 사제 대항 경기 선수에 먼저 지원해볼까?
