The Chromatic Legacy Challenge: 3 Year Anniversary Edition

Sul Sul! 🌺🍋🍒 ☔ 💝🫐🍫🍇🏁🍀🌹🎮🍊💎🌲

I’ve been revisiting this challenge every year since it's creation (2020), and I'm back again with a slightly modified version of CLC. While playing some old challenges like Not So Berry, I realized that I have some ideas for a challenge myself. That's how I came to create The Chromatic Legacy Challenge, and I’m excited to share it with everyone! This is a VERY colorful challenge that's updated to March of 2023. This challenge is designed to get the very best out of the Sims 4, and I hope you like it! There are 15 generations with certain unique requirements to complete their generation! It's always interesting to see how long it takes you to complete all the generations. Tag me at or @maximum.sims to share your beautiful creations with me! ALL GENERATIONS: RULES

-Like other colorful challenges, it is suggested that the hair, makeup, clothes, and house of your heirs ARE the color of the generation (which is listed in the rules of each generation).

Money cheats are not allowed! Promotion or skill cheats are also not allowed. The only kinds of cheats that are allowed are cheats that influence a babies gender/number and (if you wish) or need cheats.

-Normal lifespan is recommended

1 ~ Bubblegum🌺

You grew up in a humble home with your parents, searching your couch cushions for money. After your parents die, you have nowhere left to go but a small lot next to your old family home. Your parent’s old home where you learned to train and take care of animals was bulldozed in a unexpected event, and now all you can hope is that you can build a veterinary clinic on top of the foundation of the remains of your childhood home.

- Starts life in an empty lot without any more than 20k simoleons.

You grew up with a loving family, and never had any reason to doubt yourself. You respect your family's vet business but strive for something else. You've always been good at using technology and getting along with others, and you are so excited for your future and can’t wait to become a parent. Your parents lend you some money- and off you go to start a new life in the real world. But things didn’t exactly go as planned. Your home is smaller than it looked on the housing website, and your hopes are skyrocketing down. When you’re about ready to give up, you get an opportunity to be a secret agent for the type of company you only heard about in movies.

-self assured, family orientated, squeamish traits

-must complete the computer whiz and super parent aspirations. Cheat the tech guru part of the Computer Whiz aspiration, as this sim is not in the tech guru career.

You set off to Del Sol Valley the moment you turn 21 to pursue an acting career, leaving your friends and family behind. As you navigate celebrity life, you act, you flirt… but no relationships stick. That is, until reuniting with your childhood best friend...

-must complete the master actor and joke star aspirations. Cheat the entertainer part of the Joke Star aspiration, as this sim is not in the entertainer career.

-Flirt with many sims, but do not commit to an official partner until you get with your childhood friend.

You have always been proud of your parent, a successful actor who taught you to be the best you that you can be. You had always wanted to follow in their footsteps, but after seeing them in a musical, you couldn't stray your thoughts away from the idea of being a big music star. Since childhood, you've been playing all the instruments and making music. You struggle with love, and you just want to meet your special someone. Playing music for money outside of your home, you start your path to becoming a famous musician.

-Complete the Musical Genius and admired Icon aspirations

-Play music in the city during your young adulthood

-Max the dance skill + three of the following skills: singing, guitar, violin, piano, or DJ mixing, pipe organ

Unlike the rest of your family, who all aspire to be in the spotlight, you are unsure of what you want to do with your life. Being a barista and taking care of your chickens is the only thing you can think to do to support yourself. You always had a knack for the creative arts and seem to get along really well with llamas and bunnies, but never knew how to put that into a job. Finally, after long days of research, you decide to open your own retail store to sell your works- with a farm to support you at home.

-Animal Enthusiast, creative and cheerful

-Max out either the knitting or handiness skill (or both!) and the cross-stitching skill

-Max out the barista career, mixology skill, and finish the Master Mixologist Aspiration

- Run a retail business to sell woodworking or knitted clothing and own a farm.

Instead of becoming a detective or police officer, you decide to become a lawyer to defend the innocent, and you write books on your achievements. But every hero has their flaws, and yours is you're too busy helping the world to watch your children grow.

Your parent clinged to you since you were a child. You know that they just want to make you feel loved, but you can't help but feel smothered a bit by their love. You adore them, too, but you do wish you had a bit more independence. You spend lots of your time playing soccer with your parents (even though it isn't their strong suit) and dreaming of one day climbing Mount Komorebi with all of your friends by your side. Luckily, your parents are receptive to your wishes for independence and want to help you in any way you can, sending you out with hopes and lots of love for a safe journey up the mountain.

❤️୨{As I stated above, if you dated one of them, it probably wouldn't be healthy. They'd probably be abusive without even realizing it or acknowledging it. They'd all view you as a silly mortal ass kisser, even if you proved them otherwise. Sorry, they're just like that.

🍋୨{If they ever did experience sexual urges, they would probably jack off really hard and do it as fast as possible. They'd just want the urge gone. Not fond if those desires, never will be.

🔮୨{As I said before, they're jerks and older siblings, so, if Collector/Enzo was getting bullied by someone, they'd probably laugh and join in. However, if it was generalized/said bully was picking on Collector for his species, they'd tag team your ass into 4million different voids. No one is genuinely racist towards collectors and gets away with it. No one.

🔮୨{As hypocritical as it is, they're pretty racist, too. Not towards the color of someone's skin or something, but for their species. Witches are witches in their eyes. Same goes for all mortals.

🔮୨{Merciless and remorseless. They literally created a mass genocide just because the titans were a higher rank than them. They're very, very oppressive, but the moment the oppressive become the oppressed, they panic.

🔮୨{Major control freaks. MAJOR control freaks. If they can't control at least 60% of what's happening at some form of event, they absolutely hate it. They believe they should be the ones in charge at all times.

🍼୨{Were very sweet and welcoming when our collector was first born. They cared for them, helped him learn their ways, showed off their archives. I wish it was still like that, but once they discovered Collector wasn't like them at all and refused to be like them despite their efforts, they deemed him as a burden, a nuisance. Since Collector has returned to the stars and has began trying to mend things, they will occasionally attempt to entertain them. They'll color together or play I Spy.

🥭: How important to my muse is their hometown, or where they’re from? Are they proud of it, or considered a hometown hero? Did they move away, or do they wish to?

Reed doesn’t really have much of an attachment to his hometown. He was disowned by his family at 18 & left to join the army, & he hasn’t been back since. Postwar, I think he’d be curious about what happened there and may eventually head back- but that’d take place after fo4 and I just haven’t gotten to that point yet. Fortunately for him, Albany’s actually closer to Boston than Far Harbor, so it’d be a pretty feasible trip for him.

🍏: How stable is my muse’s physical health? Do they go for regular or semi-regular checkups by a physician? Do they have any diagnosed illnesses and/or take any medication? How often do they get sick?

He lowkey tries to die immediately out of the vault and after going in the Glowing Sea the first time- I think cryo would do a number on immune systems, plus there’s residual radiation basically everywhere and he’s not used to that. It’s all just his immune system freaking out though, there’s not any sort of actual virus or bacteria causing it- he has a lower than average body temperature post-cryo and that’s made him pretty resistant to actual diseases. On top of that, a few months later he ends up with rad poisoning from a defective power armor seal and that takes a few months for him to actually recover - he starts ghoulifying after that, but it’s a very slow ordeal & it isn’t helped by the fact that he denies that it’s happening. After that starts though, he’s generally pretty healthy and very rarely gets sick. As far as medications go- he takes mentats regularly for his undiagnosed ADHD, he smokes very frequently, & he goes through way too much RadAway in some sort of attempt to prevent further ghoulification.

🍋: What kind of diet does my muse have? Do they eat regularly, or the standard 2-3 meals a day? Do they have to be reminded to eat, or are they likely to remind others? Do they cook, or have others cook for them? Do they eat healthily, or not so much?

Reed’s generally terrible about remembering to eat when he’s left to his own devices & he’s pretty reliant on Margot & companions/friends for reminders. On average and when it’s just him and Margot, I’d say he probably eats about twice a day and it’s generally very plain and boring(like some sort of meat, some sort of grain, maybe a vegetable or fruit) because there’s a very good chance he’s sharing food with Margot. He typically eats more frequently and generally has more variety/isn’t basically living off depression meals while with companions. Overall he does usually eat pretty healthy too, he doesn’t really like sweets much & won’t eat prewar/packaged foods so that cuts out a lot of unhealthy options.

✨💗 New Years 💗✨

Happy new years everyone! I purchased some small helper books (for organisation) for this year in December with all the impending sales from Kikki K. While volunteering for Save The Children I purchased a book of theirs for goal planning and the like. I really enjoyed it and found it helpful so, I went back to get some more! I purchased the Food, Exercise, Sleep journal, A Sentence A Day journal and a two pack of the Checklist too. I also set up my Care Bear calendar from Typo! I couldn't make a concise resolution this year so I have more of a wish-wash one!

✨ I would like to be in a place where I am truly content ✨

What does that mean? Well, I'd like to be generally content with life. Last year was unbelievably stressful and I'd personally just like to be in a place where it's not as much of a struggle. So, with that I'd like to jot down some minor goals of mine as it is the first day of the year.

♥ Get all the wedding planning done

♥ Be content with my leg tattoos by the time of the wedding! (I wanted to have my legs finished before our wedding so, I'd like to be content if I'm not quite there yet)

♥ Incorporate protein into every day

♥ Look after my teeth better

♥ Sell my car (it's been a long time coming, it is very much an expensive 🍋 unfortunately)

♥ Have all my debts paid (it's minor but, it's still there)

Hoping that everyone has had a wonderful new year with however you celebrate or, if you don't celebrate! 💖💐

🍀 what is your comfort show/series and why is it your comfort show? How has it helped you?

uhhhh bbbbbb i've brought it up a few times before but for real it's the closer. except for early detco there's no other show i come back to more frequently. aside from it just being a banger (read: well-written) police drama with an extremely organic-feeling and cohesive cast of diverse characters, brenda is a flawed, unabashedly female-- and human-- protag in a position of power who probably served as a window into recognizing some of my own internalized misogyny growing up.

i wish i had literally anyone to talk to about it. it peaked in the mid-aughts on primetime tv and idk if it has a surviving online fandom

🌚 a show you’d tell people to stay away from

so not that anyone asked but generally a piece of media has to really offend me in some way in order to wind up on my shitlist. the vast majority end up in various tiers of "okay" - which is not necessarily a bad thing, it just leaves more room for things that truly leave a lasting impression on me in either direction.

now uhhh i don't watch too many shows period (it would be easier to do this with film) but deadass the only show i can think of that i've both watched all the way through and come out hating is probably hellsing ultimate SORRY EVERYONE

i watched it because (1) it was distantly influential (like... omnipresent but only in my periphery) when babby hex was still pulling inspo from the anime scene of the time and (2) i got so, so many reccs for it from the people around me who knew i loved horror. i wanted to like it but very quickly discovered i actually hated it.

i've kind of put it out of my mind but off the top of my head, it shot way past my (admittedly very low-tolerance) suspension of disbelief very quickly, sucked really hard at being funny when it tried, and actually felt all-around distasteful in its... choices with the baddies. if you know you know

edit: to actually answer the question i would not recommend hellsing ultimate on account of its egregious tone problem and other distasteful story choices. i've seen the counterargument that its attempts at humor are "the point," that it's "supposed to be making fun of itself," but if it is it fails on just about every level. i don't even consider it a fun watch as camp horror schlock.

And the only mother I could think of who had the audacity and a daughter who would comply is Myrinne. I'm so salty about Myrinne. I'd like to know why I associate death with the ocean so deeply in ACO fics/playlists. I do not do this in my own life?

Bad Things to Such Good People- Manchester Orchestra, Julien Baker. So inspiring, but I keep deleting anything I write about this. It's such a good song. It gives me chills. Julien Baker's harmony hurts me.

cherubim- serpentwithfeet. On my Alexidas playlist/basis for some fanart I wanna do. The odd key used with the devotion of the lyrics just really gets me.

Requiem, K.626 Lacrimosa dies illa -London Philharmonic Orchestra. I listened to this on repeat while watching a chaotic conversation go down on discord. It really added to the moment. I think it's on my Deimos playlist. 🤷Mozart didn't have to go that hard (but I would too if I thought I were composing my funeral music).

Feeling Fruit- palehound. Did that little sketchy zine-y thing. You know that moment where you leave a depressive episode? Or you leave a bad mental space in general? And you have to relearn how to be a human? Yeah. Also, I like grocery stores. And fruit. 🍋🍊🍏🍐

St. Ides Heaven - Bright Eyes. Companion version( I think its Phoebe Bridgers in the background??). Surprised by this, I didn't think I listened to this much? Idk the drums make me feel something I'd like to chase.

You Missed My Heart- Mark Kozelek. My most played song for 2 years. Why? Because Mark singing about stabbing a guy and then getting killed in prison puts me to sleep. I like the Phoebe Bridgers version too, but Mark has not missed my heart. I also listen to train noises to pass out. I don't know why I'm like this. I wish I knew. 🔪🚂😴

(Birdman, of course, referring to werewolf au Crow, who is quite a distinct entity from regular au Crow and who I've been given complete custody of! <3 Never not grateful for being allowed to have just run with him!)

🍋 : what kind of diet does my muse have? do they eat regularly, or the standard 2-3 meals a day? do they have to be reminded to eat, or are they likely to remind others? do they cook, or have others cook for them? do they eat healthily, or not so much?

Crow's diet is absolutely all over the place, with very little consideration put into the nutritional value of his meals; he's more than happy to exist solely on greasy refuelling station kiosk food, but won't turn his nose up at a gourmet dinner if it's served to him (even if he doesn't recognise half the ingredients). Definitely doesn't need to be reminded to eat; he'll snack whenever he feels the need and can cook a few standard meals if the need arises (especially if he has access to a grill). He's probably going to get used to an abrupt raise in standards of his meals in the near future, though it might take him a while longer to actually appreciate it.

🥝 : does my muse have any ‘ unusual ’ habits, interests, and / or talents? do they hide it, or are they proud of it?

Well. He definitely has made a bit of a habit of deserting/defecting from his current faction, hahaha, though he's not necessarily proud of every switch he's made, but he'd never try to hide the fact either. Aside from that, he's been gathering a collection of unusual cybernetics and upgrades of which he's very proud, and definitely has a leaning toward the unusual/unconventional. He tries to be mindful of the company he's in with regards to just how much he'll flaunt, though.

Crow's earliest memories are of living on the streets and alleys of lower level Coruscant, and it's safe to say he has no particular attachment to that period of his life or the places he was forced to shelter. When he was taken in by his adoptive father, he came to see the ship, and even moreso the great expanse of outer space, as his home, and that has always meant more to him than any other physical space has. He's a man who likes to roam, and doesn't enjoy having his wings clipped.

🍇 : how would my muse describe their childhood? how much has it impacted the person they are now, or will become as an adult? around what age did they or will they start to mature, and why? do they wish to go back to their days as a child, or have they embraced adulthood?

Crow would say that his childhood was lively, and dangerous, and taught him to live every moment as though it could be his last. He spent a lot of his formative years never being certain of what the next day would bring, and learned the value of having people's back; he learned to be generous, and open, and form connections with people swiftly and fiercely. Sometimes this has lead to forming connections with the wrong sorts of people, and the lessons he's learned from those associations have taught him more about his own values and convictions than anything else. 'Embracing adulthood' might be a bit of a stretch; Crow will be as naughty and frivolous as often as he can get away with, but he's definitely developed a level of emotional maturity that many of the broken beings around him have come to lean on.

🍑 : how meticulously does my muse look after their physical appearance? do they spend a lot of time on their hair, makeup, grooming, and clothing? is there a particular reason why they do or don’t?

Crow spends more time on his hair than he would ever admit aloud to anybody, because he thinks it's worth it. He'll look after his general hygiene but won't fuss over a bit of engine grease or wearing the same shirt for a few days running; but since he also quite enjoys getting a positive reaction from Thirteen in particular sometimes he'll put a little more effort into his clothing purely for that reason. In general, though, Crow tends to find everybody he cares about stunning just as they are, and that extends to himself- so what reason is there to overly fuss when one is already perfect?
