HOSAB SPOILERS!!!

So we know that SJM herself said that CC3 will set up the next acotar book.

I think it’s clear with the events of CC3, it’s going to have an impact on the next acotar book, it just makes sense. & I think that the events of acotar 5 will take place after the events of CC3. And we know it’s going to be a time jump from acosf to CC3, but Im not sure we know the exact timeline.

We know that with CC3, it picks up like almost right after CC2 and SJM has changed her stance on whether or not you should read acotar when it comes the CC series and she now has said yes, you will want to read acotar before CC. And if she’s saying that about CC then she might want readers to read CC before the next acotar book as well. Could be wrong tho, but we’ll see once we read HOFAS.

And I think that it’s clear that SJM wrote CC & acosf around the same time. She uses the same wording in certain parts of both stories and I think acosf directly connects to CC the most out of all her books so far.

With this recent teaser we see once again, Nesta and Azriel are being pushed in front when it comes to the acotar characters in CC3, especially since we’ve seen that Nesta and Azriel are a part of a bonus chapter with Bryce. But if you read acosf, I think it just makes sense why Nesta and Azriel are in the forefront. A lot of people keep freaking out about Cassian, saying where is he. He’s probably around but just not with Bryce, Nesta, and Azriel. That doesn’t mean any thing bad has happen to him.

It’s just that Nesta & Azriel’s plotlines are directly connected to CC already, more than Cassian. More than any other acotar characters in my opinion.

Nesta’s story arc is the one that really connects acotar to CC. We heard about the daglan from Rhys in acosf and SJM confirmed that the daglan and the asteri are one in the same.

In acosf Nesta went against a daglan/asteri, Lanthys, in the prison and killed him with her death sword. We also know that the sword gwydion in acotar is the starsword Bryce now has, which was dipped into the cauldron so I also think it’s considered a death sword since that’s where nesta got her power from.

We know that Nesta still has death magic in her. So I wonder if she can still create death swords to help Bryce in some way. Or maybe what if the asteri/daglan can be killed by death magic and that Bryce uses trove since they were cauldron made too and they are also death magic?

Also, the 8 pointed star. When Nesta & Cassian made a bargain, it appeared as a 8 pointed star on their bodies. The harp in the prison sat on top of a 8 pointed star when nesta went to go retrieve it. Bryce has a 8 pointed star on her chest. We got more about the star in CC2 but I think SJM will tell us more about it in HOFAS as well. But this is what Rigelus said about the star:

That star on your chest—do you know what it is?” “Lets assume I know nothing.” Bryce said grimly. Rigelus inclined his head. “It’s a beacon to the world from which the Fae originally came. It sometimes glows when nearest the Fae who have undiluted bloodlines from that world. Prince Cormac, for example.” “It glowed for hunt,” Bryce shot back. “It also glows for those who you choose as your loyal companions. Knights.” “So what?”Bryce demanded. So that star will lead us back to that world. Through you. They overthrew our brethren who once ruled there—we have not forgotten. Our initial attempt at revenge was foiled by your ancestor who also bore that star on her chest. The Fae have still not atoned for the deaths of our brothers and sisters. Their home world was rich in magic. I crave more of it.”

We see that Bryce’s bloodline hails from prythian. And the fae are originally from there. And the asteri want to use Bryce to get back to prythian. Rigelus is also speaking on the war that went on when Enalius, the Illyrian in acotar who fought against the daglan to protect that black stone on top of ramiel. The asteri wants to go back to Prythian to slay the illryians and the fae.

I personally believe that Bryce, Nesta & Azriel are in the prison in the teaser. I could be wrong because obviously illryia can come into play because the Asteri/daglan wanted to get to that black stone so bad during the war for some reason. But here’s why I think they’re going to the prison:

“Danika realized that the shifters are Fae.” Bryce blinked. “What?” “Not your kind of Fae, of course—your breed dwelled in a lovely, verdant land, rich with magic. If it’s of any interest to you, your starborn bloodline specifically hailed from a small isle a few miles from the mainland. And while the mainland had all manner of climes, the isle existed in beautiful, near permanent twilight.” (CC2, 762)

Rigelus is talking about the prison isle. It’s an isle away from the mainland of the night court. We know that the prison isle was there before high lords existed. And we learned that the daglan/asteri were in control before the high lords became a thing until they were slayed by both the fae and illryians. I’m pretty sure Bryce would want to go there to get some answers.

“You are Starborn, and have the Horn bound your body and power. Your ancestors wielded the Horn and another fae object that allowed them to enter this world. Stolen, of course, from their original masters—our people. Our people, who built fearsome warriors in that world to be their army. All of them prototypes for the angels in this one. And all of them traitors to their creators, joining the Fae to overthrow my brothers and sisters. A 1000 years before we arrived on Midgard. They slew my siblings.” (CC2, page 761)

So I wonder if the other fae object is the harp that helped them into this world. We’ve seen that it has many strings and can open doors to places. It makes sense for the harp to be used for them to get into the CC universe. And I of course think that Bryce’s horn is the fourth dread trove. And we see here that rigelus says that they created fearsome warriors that were prototypes for the angels in CC, who are fearsome warriors that already have wings in acotar? The illryians.

Now with Azriel, we know that truth teller is the twin knife to Bryce’s sword. Just for that alone he’s connected to CC. I now believe that Azriel would permanently give Bryce the knife. I just don’t see any acotar characters leaving prythian to go to Bryce’s world. They would literally be out of their element and the knife completes the prophecy in Bryce’s world.

Especially when at one point SJM said HOFAS was split in between prthyian and CC (and I know that could be subjected to change) and I don’t think the acotar characters need to take up many more page time in this story with so many open plot points from the other 2 CC novels that need to be solved.

But anyway, Azriel is an Illyrian. Rigelus (the asteri) himself stated that he and the other asteri bred fae & the demons from Hel in CC to make the illryians. We see that the demons in Hel had leathery wings and so does Apollion, the 7th prince of Hel and that’s why Bryce thought she was in hell when she saw Azriel because of his leathery wings.

We see that the illryians were the prototypes for the angels in CC. And that the asteri want to go back to Midgard and pretty much slay the illryians because they turned against the daglan/asteri in the war and aligned with the fae to take the daglan/asteri down. And the daglan/asteri were trying to get to the top of ramiel for that black stone, which is sacred to the illryians.

The illryians & Illyria are obviously a plot point for CC & could be for the next acotar book. The asteri literally created them. I might be wrong, but I could have sworn I saw some where that SJM pushed back the illryian storyline in regards for Azriel’s story, I could be wrong, but it’s clear that is in unrest in illryia with what happen with the war in acowar and how they’re not happy. Then Cassian and Azriel having illryians come and watch the valkryies in the blood rite qualifier and we know how they feel about women being warriors, and then the valkryies being thrown into the blood rite, the illryians aren’t going to be too happy and I can see a rebellion happening with them.

And if CC3 sets up the next acotar book then to me it’s just seem more likely that’s its Azriel’s, especially since he’s literally going to be in it with nesta, helping Bryce.

ok guys i finished the poppy war wtf. i feel so hollow right now. i feel so... unsatisfied by the ending but not necessary in a bad way??? i have to read the other books and see what happens but at the same time it feels so hopeless and i dont approve of rin as a main character anymore (tho i am aware that it doesnt matter whether i "approve" of her or not) but i will still definitely read the other books bc i loved the book overall. i just think that the storyline rn is very... surreal?

i NEED TO KNOW what the fuck happened to nezha bc i just know that rf kuang has smtg cooking for him. my personal theory is that he didnt die from the gas bc he secretly is connected to the god of healing (hence why his spine healed so fast and enki speculated abt his dragon insigna) and so hes alive and maybe imprisoned? maybe he was sent to a science lab to, or he somehow ran away, or he pretended to join forces?? idrk but im sure that hes alive and its got to do with his dragon insignia

im so sad that everybody from sineguard died/isnt in the story anymore (other than kitayyyyyy thank god. im so glad he reappeared) bc i tbh dont feel much of an attachment toward the cike members 😭 like idk i love Qara and Chaghan but the others are eh to me, like i would trade their presence for Irjah's or Raban or Niang or EVEN JUN 😭 tho im just being sentimental, i dont actually mean it. (tho i would like to see a jun reappearance and redemption...)

oh btw i think i rate this a 4/5 star read

my criticisms are as such:

- the middle part where they kept losing was very dreary (tho i imagine kuang was trying to make it seem desperate/devastating and tense, it was just droll to read tbh).

- the sudden reconciliation between nezha and rin felt very unnatural (like i understand the feeling of "who cares abt our petty rivalry when theres literally a whole ass war happening?" but then again, this is just fiction and it wouldve been nice to read their familiar banter- or at least have it dragged out a bit before the reconciliation). i feel like it was just very unnatural, unless.... unless nezha fell in love with Rin when she erupted into flames at sineguard???? if THAT happened then i feel like the reconciliation would make alot more sense bc when nezha came to khurdalain it was like he was desperate to make Rin like him/forgive him ???

- a few things were pretty predictable. it was pretty obvious that Jiang was the gatekeeper, which was disappointing because if that was a little less obvious, i feel like the scene were Rin and Altam discover Jiang in the Stone Mountain would've had a bigger emotional impact on the reader (me)

though here are the things i liked:

- Rin at the first half of the book was the best mc everrrr

- Kitay. i have nothing wrong with Kitay. he's my favourite for sure

- Jiang's style of teaching (i loved how they just conversed and would come to nonsensical philosphical questions that made Rin frustrated but made Jiang delighted. eg "Why do people dream what they dream?")

- the way Kuang described the god realm vs the human realm. it was all very believable and assured. it wasn't vague at all, in my opinion. theres ofc alot of questions abt the different planes still, but the genius of it is that she wrote about it in a way that assured that it was normal to have questions, and even more normal to not get answers for them, and that we should just accept it (idk, thats the vibe i was getting. like, she didnt say "just believe it" as an excuse for lazy writing, she said "just believe it" because, well, just believe it.)

i could go on about how much i love these kids being unhinged and chaotic but unless i want to reblog this post a million times i have to cut it down. let it be known that i adore the kids and their antics tho

you know what i also adore? blaze committing crimes in the chaos dimension because she can get away with it. i think i need more of that in my life actually

although right after he says he doesn't wanna do more crimes i'd like to think he grows out of that opinion eventually. let the little guy steal stuff i want him to hang with rouge and have her make him worse actually

look here shadow's had it rough in the writing department for a while but i very much appreciated this plot point of him going out of his way to get concert tickets for amy and even (reluctantly) agreeing to go with her to said concert even if it isn't his cup of tea. i know it's more presented as him trying to y'know be polite and considerate and he's going about it in an edgy way but i'd like to think it's just his way of presenting things if you will? like he know what amy's favorite band is and sees how hard the tickets are to get so he goes out of his way to get them because he cares about his friend and knows how much attending a concert like that would mean to amy. and in terms of this screenshot in particular i also appreciate amy appreciating her friends' presence at her party even if they hadn't gotten her anything! sure it does kinda come across as her being bummed about not getting gifts from them and maybe she is but i think that's okay? like she's 12 (or 13 now i guess?) getting excited about presents is pretty normal, and it's not like she's super upset about it anyway. i think she genuinely appreciates her friends attending her party more than anything

i also found this a lovely little detail lol and it does kinda make sense! the bitch has been in stasis for 50 years and computer technology has taken leaps in that time, of course he'd be a lil rustier with them compared to his peers

more on shadow, this guy's brain goes overdrive the second he realizes he fucked up and needs to get something nice for his friend now. like i don't have the brain power to form it into words atm but i just love what this all says about him as a character!!

i could flail about the art in this game the whole evening honestly it's so lovely and colorful and pretty and i love how this scene is composed and shadow being seated on the windowsill idk this just put a big smile on my face when i saw it :)

yeah yeah ik i said this was gonna be starbucks holiday drinks but guys you really think simon's the kinda guy to order a sugar cookie pumpkin spice creme brulee apple strudel frappucino?

yeah that's what i thought

the others will all follow the theme tho i swear

but for now let's talk about simon

he doesn't drink starbucks very much but when he does he usually has two go to drinks

a steamed apple juice or a london fog tea latte

he'll get the latte hot or cold depending on the weather ofc

his favorite thing to do is cozy up with a nice book and a warm drink from starbucks especially during the winter months

and bc he's an environmentally conscious king (and because he has a reputation to maintain let's be real) he always brings his own black tumbler for the drink

also i don't know why but i like to think that he has a bunch of starbucks gift cards from random holidays over the years

so he hasn't spent his own money on starbucks in months

he also never orders in person

and he puts down another name for his order too

sometimes ghost will order a hot chocolate though

but they have a tendency to be really sweet so they're not his favorite

also before i explain why why is no one talking about the shadows constantly calling soap a leprechaun and an irish person?

what can i say soaps a cold foam kind of guy

he's just like me frfr

honestly he really doesn't have much of a sweet tooth (at least when it comes to coffee) and he feels like the slight sweetness of the cold foam mixed with the bitter cold brew makes the perfect coffee sweetness

also soap's the kind of person to get iced drinks no matter the weather

like it could be snowing and hailing and he'd still get his iced coffee

he also asks for extra cold foam

bc he likes those first few sips where all you get is the foam before the coffee starts mixing in

also off topic but soap also went feral during the free red cup day

like you know he dropped everything to grab one before they ran out

he's done it everytime they do it and he's so scared that he's gonna miss his streak because of work some day

kyle "gaz" garrick:

alright so maybe it's sorta simple but in gaz's opinion you can never go wrong with an iced peppermint mocha

i mean the name itself just screams holidays

and the flavor speaks for itself

gaz is just a fan of chocolate in general though

and he actually doesn't really like coffee, so the sweetness of the chocolate is nice because it combats the bitterness of the coffee

he also really likes peppermint so it works out too

like you know those peppermint chocolates you get from olive garden?

he eats those up oml

he also only puts in one shot of espresso

because a lot of caffeine makes him anxious

also he doesn't like staying awake at night most of the time

plus he always gets less whipped cream

it's surprising but he's honestly not that much of a fan

that being said though, you can't have a mocha without whipped cream

so he'll oblige a little bit

john price:

alrighty so price's favorite drink is a caramel brulee frappucino

and i am very confident in saying that

i don't really know why but i just feel like he would enjoy it

i like to think that the first time he had it was when someone else went on a coffee run and he told them to just get him whatever

so they got him this and now he's obsessed

he's always been a fan of caramel so it only makes sense

like he goes ham on the caramel

people have told him to just get a caramel frappucino instead but he never does

so instead he gets the caramel brulee frappe with caramel sauce, syrup, drizze

the whole nine yards

i mean price has a sweet tooth what can i say

he needs something to balance out the flavor of all those cigars he smokes

and yes gaz and the others always makes fun of price whenever he gets his drink

but price doesn't even care he is living his best life

he also definitely gets a reindeer cake pop too whenever he goes

the chestnut praline latte is definitely a close second for price tho

but he likes the texture of a frappucino over a latte

alejandro vargas:

okay so honestly ik it's kinda basic but alejandro is a hot chocolate kinda guy

i mean it's like the most iconic holiday drink there is

besides like eggnog or smthing but tbh i always forget eggnog is a thing

anyways hot chocolate is always like the thing to get alejandro in the holiday spirit

it brings him back to making ibarra hot chocolate with his family as a kid

ofc starbucks hot chocolate is not as good as ibarra

but hot chocolate is hot chocolate and it gets the job done in a pinch

one time he tried adding cinnamon to the starbucks hot chocolate to make it more like ibarra

man to this day he doesn't know what he did wrong but he knows something was wrong bc it did not taste like ibarra at all

it tasted worse than it started too

that was truly disappointing

he also likes getting a sandwich or croissant from the bakery too as a light snack

rodolfo "rudy" parra:

alright so this one is easy

and honestly like the first one i thought of

but rudy lives for the sugar cookie almond milk latte

i also like to think that rudy tends to run pretty cold (especially during the winter) and so he gets the hot version and holds it in his hands with his sleeve pulled to his fingertips and let's the steam warm him up

while he does like a little dance to try and keep himself warm

i mean what can i say rudy is like the epitome of having a sweet tooth

plus he really likes sugar cookies so it works out

like he loves those soft sugar cookies you get at walmart (the lofthouse cookies)

also rudy is lactose intolerant

critiquing + ranking the ikepri outfits this year

although no one asked, i just wanted to give my thoughts on them. i’m not a fashion student or anything so perhaps i shouldn’t be writing this but it’s an opinion piece so whatever. also my feelings about the character won’t affect my thoughts, this is just about the outfits. with that said, just know that i don’t really like camouflage; it’s very hard to pull off and too much of it looks a little meh. nobody in the fandom agrees on who looks the best but it’s okay. this is not meant to hate, i am just giving my opinion, feedback if you will. the artists and everyone working on this worked hard and i appreciate their work.

anyways let’s get into it going left to right

first we have gilbert

he’s not the worse offender, but it’s still hard for me to look at and say i like it. the camo is hidden under the layers which i think is nice because it’s more a little more subtle but still central. i don’t get the blue jewels tho is he trying to match with silvio? did he steal it from silvio? anyways i also cant hate the mesh jacket. i was thinking that it should be plain but now i think that his outfit as a whole would look too plain if it didn’t have the designs on them.

i’d honestly rate his outfit a 6/10

next we have clavis leopard guy

idk man this ain’t it. i don’t get their obsession with animal print like i get that it’s their animal crest and whatnot but it’s just ugh😩 it’s a personal thing but i think they’re kinda ugly. bro looks like it’s 2015 and he got that leopard print shirt from forever 21. the purple and the camo together just ain’t it either, despite him having the least amount of camo. i do like that his accessories are cohesive and he’s keeping his multiple belt aesthetic. he said “emma’s showing tummy so im showing tummy too” but overall, the outfit just kinda looks awkward.

the worst offender. go to jail do not pass go and do not collect $200. y’all did not just layer animal print with camouflage. in my opinion the prints clash because camouflage is already a busy print with multiple colors. you add that to the tiger print and it just doesn’t make sense anymore. i think maybe it would’ve been more cool if the vest was camo and the lapel/cuff parts were black? or that gold color that’s already on it? i do like the jewels on his cropped jacket tho, it matches his accessories and adds a bit more flavor to that cream white.

slayed. the camo isn’t in your face obnoxious and it doesn’t clash with the other elements of the outfit. this is definitely leon redemption arc from last year’s outfit. i like that the camo is able to stand on its own! his white sleeveless turtleneck provides a sort of canvas for the camo and i think it’s great. however i don’t really like chunky jewelry/accessories so the chains don’t really do it for me i think it would’ve been cool if they did dog tags or something because they went with a military kind of vibe with the camo.

you know what? 8/10 it was good it’s easy to look at and hard to hate also it’s a big step up from last time.

up next we got licht

i’m not sure how i feel about his blue with the camo. emma’s blue denim thing she has going on looks more grunge and that kinda works with the camo imo. but licht just looks like he could be a university student? there’s a lot of layers and i wonder if he’s getting hot in there 😹 when i first saw it, i was talking to a friend and i said he looks so boxy, he looks like a transformer about to say “autobots roll out” and then transform into a radio or something 💀 also why is he wearing an attach-on fur tail?

there’s some color clashing layers going on and he’s like an onion with all those layers 5/10

finally we have silvio and im tired of this camo theme

at this point i don’t even know what’s going on anymore. there’s so many shades of blue and im not sure i like it. y’all got dark blue, turquoise, and teal, and even his hair is like minty blue? i guess that’s just his aesthetic his color palette. his jacket is sparkly already but he had to add some sparkly jewels too lol. the square patch of camo just feels kind of slapped on there? i know they love their animal prints but maybe swap the Dalmatian print dog collar for a camo bandana? he can wear it around his neck like how dogs do 😹 it also switches it up a bit because literally almost everyone is wearing necklaces and you’re running out of ideas because leon is already doing the chunky layered chains.

And i'm sure they're gonna release other/new titles in the coming years. Also kinda depends if they're gonna bring out a (new) title every year, or every 2 years(maybe longer??). So with all these promising stories (if they're really gonna pull through on expanding the MW characters arc. *PLEAASE*) Will they be making a campaign only game? DLC's? Campaign+Multiplayer? Cause they can cover ALOT of ground over the course of years.. but is the fandom still as hyped 2-5 years from now, and how much profit is enough to keep it rolling to Activision? Outer banks season 3 opinions no one asked for! Feel free to read, or not read. Im a waffler, so be prepared. Also, if anyone disagrees with what I’m saying, that’s completely okay! Im just here to share what I thought. Plus no one I know watches it, so this is my only platform 💛💛💛

Overall, very much enjoyed the season!! Well worth the waking up at 1 in the afternoon the next day because I was watching it well into the early hours of the morning!

JIARA:

It comes to no surprise that I was most excited for Jiara, and while I am very much satisfied with how it turned out, I have a few things that I would change. (But I want to clarify that I am very happy with what we got. Considering Jiara is pretty much all fan service, it’s mad that we actually got them. So thank you writers)

I remember thinking to myself when I finished season two, that I wouldn’t be able to deal with the slow burn being any slower, but now I’ve watched this season, I kinda think it should’ve been dragged out a bit more. I used to think I wanted a kiss this season, but after watching I wouldn’t be mad if they didn’t. Which goes against entirely with what I once thought.

Now this is probably a me issue, but now I’ve read pretty much every Jiara fanfiction out there, my expectations were very very high, and some parts of the ship this season didn’t reach it. In hindsight, the idea of it not feeling right is because I’m addicted to fanfiction is hilarious, and a me issue I need to sort out. It’s small things, like when JJ goes to Kiara’s house to get her so they can go rescue big John, only for Mike to be like nah. That scene would’ve been so great if JJ had that moment of being like “I love your daughter sir” instead he leaves really quickly without saying much.

The kiss (while beautiful and emotional), I wish it wasn’t in front of all those girls, cause stuff like public displays like that make me uncomfortable, and I wish it wasn’t brushed off as easily as it was. I get that they are in a rush, but come on now. 3 seasons we’ve been waiting. And there’s barely anything after that that even shows that they are a couple. Yeah they sit next to each other and walk next to each other, but they’ve been doing that back in season 1. Maybe it’s like, they’re JJ and Kiara, they don’t need to do all this coupley shit to show they are a couple. But I’m a slut for fluff! Which we did get a lot of from them this season, which was an aspect I really enjoyed!!!

Overall, I really loved Jiara this season, and I am excited to see what they do with them next season. Don’t fuck then up. Please for the love of God!

RAFE (and a little Ward):

I am never not entertained when Rafe is on my screen. He is hands down in my top 3 favourite characters. (Behind JJ, but in front of Sarah)

He’s got that complexity that has me crawling back for more every single time. I like the subtly of shaving his head to show how insane he’s become. They had me fooled at the beginning of the season. I was sat there like damn, they gonna make Rafe a good guy? No. No they are not. And I am very happy with that conclusion.

I’ll shoehorn Ward into this section while I’m here. While he’s been a prick, and I mean ABSOLUTE prick, I love his journey and how it ends. I believed him when he said he regretted doing that to Sarah, and his sacrifice made me cry goddamit!

Back to Rafe! Yeah he’s great once again this season. In other news, water is wet.

JOHN B AND BIG JOHN:

Honestly? I got kinda bored watching them 🫣

It just felt like the same thing every time. They go somewhere, something happens, they run away. I love me some John B tho, and I love what they did with Big John’s character. His character wasn’t what I expected, but I think that’s why I enjoyed him so much.

I think this season was a great reintroduction to Big John, as well as a great goodbye.

Not much else to say about these two 🙃

SARAH:

Okay, so don’t hate me for this.

I kinda liked what they did with Sarah and Topper. I didn’t hate their interactions. While I think it was fucked what Sarah did to John B, me personally? I’ve never been incredibly attached to John B and Sarah. I like them together, their chemistry is great, but they aren’t my ride or die couple.

But I like how lost she it this season. I mean she’s at a serious low point this season, and it’s so interesting to watch! She’s a chaotic messy mess and I love every minute. To see someone so highly regarded become so reckless is so satisfying to watch in a weird way.

Overall, love Sarah, Will always be in my top 3.

Pope

I loved pope this season!!

He was so manic this season, and it was so interesting to see! I think I’ve said that like 50 times. But to see him so angry and shit, it was such a cool contrast to him in the two first seasons. Him and Cleo are adorable, and I wish nothing but the best for them. I haven’t got much else to say about pope, other than that I love him and want to marry him. K bye.

KIARA (on her own)

I am so thrilled to say, that after 2 season of eh and ugh, I finally am of the opinion that Kiara is a queen!!!

I don’t know what it is, cause she’s not incredibly different to who she was in the past seasons, but something about her this season just made me fall in love!

I think maybe this whole JJ thing has grounded her. Finally someone who she is interested in, is showing hesitancy, which is a really humbling thing, which has made her character so much more relatable to me.

I’ve also never realised how funny she is. The girl makes me giggle man, and I’m not afraid to admit it. So yeah, big love for Kiara, keep it up!

You never fail to make me smile.

You went through a lot this season, and I wish you the best! And I hope Kiara is treating you right! If not, I definitely will.

The scene where they all come home, and JJ has no one to greet, kills me everytime!!! Someone give this man a damn hug!!!

Kiara’s dad??? I’m sorry sir, I’ll happily go to prison if it means you’ll be off my screen and 6 feet under. I say this with love.

But yeah, JJ is at his most angsty, and I love seeing characters getting to show and feel their emotions. And he does that a lot this season. The scene where his insecurities about being with Kiara were so important for his character, and makes him so much more endearing, even tho he’s been that since season 1!

Still my favourite character, will always be 🤭

Random thoughts!

Wasn’t a massive fan of the 18 months later time skip. I read somewhere on Instagram that it might be a vision or a dream? I’m open to that idea, but who knows.

I didn’t like who little time we spent on the island. Would’ve loved to have spent the whole first episode there.

Would’ve liked a scene between Kiara and Pope talking things over. Would’ve layed to rest whatever was between them.

Carlos Singh was very meh to me. The amount of times he said ya know? My teeth were gritting and my eyes were rolling.

Wheezie? Never heard of her. Considering she’s BARLEY USED!!!

I love Anna Carrera this season. Sending her kid away is not great, but other than that? Loves her. Didn’t think I would after the past 2 seasons. You surprised me outer banks.

I’m very happy with how much I warmed to Cleo. I thought I’d find it hard, but I think she’s a great addition to the group, and I welcome her with arms wide open.

im not a huge fan of the interpretation that sonic internalizes or suppresses everything, or considers his "hero role" restrictive or burdensome in the sense that he cant show weakness, etc... maybe im just an adventurehead and new games have more basis for this interpretation, but it kind of feels like the fandom exaggerating traits in order to make sonic an interesting pov character when hes really not meant to be...? thats not to say sonic isnt interesting in general, but i dont think hes equipped for carrying a narrative by himself so usually people try to give him some deeper traumatic internal world to explore when i personally dont think its there, lol. ive said before that i think the most interesting sonic stories to me arent really about Him so much as his effect on other characters and thats why im so mehhh abt this take.

thats not to say sonic doesnt withhold information about himself. in sa2 he very blatantly lies to amy about his thoughts and oftentimes tries to keep others out of harms way by doing stuff himself. but i dont think this is martyrdom or needing to "fulfill his role as a hero" so much as him just feeling some responsibility as, for a while, the oldest kid in the friend group. he doesnt consider himself a hero but hes aware that younger characters, like amy and tails, look up to him so he doesnt want to talk to them like he would a peer. he is generally more serious with characters like knuckles who are around his same age and do not hold him to this pedestal. we see as tails and amy grow he begins to be more relaxed and less "big kid needing to remember his audience" now that they arent as young or star-struck.

splitting up this paragraph to avoid more wall of text but in regards to this ^^^ i also think most of it is just that... hes a private guy. he doesnt particularly want ppl to know whats going on in his brain all the time, has a personal space bubble, doesnt hang around the public often and lots of times doesnt talk much in very social situations. tho i wont knock ppl for trying to find a deeper more psychological reason for it, i dont personally think there is one... hes just an introverted dude. some ppl just dont like talking abt themselves and get awkward abt it.

also what i think of silver? not sure. i think he has good potential... but sonic teams fear of 06 after it flopped so hard didnt let him grow to meet it. i think his arc in that game was unfinished and suffered from the timeline reset. but i also dont remember lots from his story, so i may have to revisit it. i like him in those early days like in rivals, but im afraid to say i dont find him very fascinating nowadays :( sorry! i get why others do tho

I feel like I really wanna get this off my chest. Look, I don’t hate Connie as a character. She’s perfectly fine and nice enough and I’m perfectly fine with Conniverse as a ship even if I REALLY don’t agree that it’s the best and ONLY true ship for Steven like everyone says it is and that Connie is Steven’s one true soulmate like everyone makes her out to be. With all that being said, I can’t help but feel like Connie became a HUGE Mary Sue ever since late season 2 of Steven Universe.

There's no outright hate towards her (okay maybe a little bit...) but there sure ain't any love towards her either. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, remember!!! I agree with you on some people calling it the "only true ship for Steven"... people who say this about any franchise are people with no imagination XDDD (like, okay, I know that there are some characters from some franchises that I ship ONLY with one other character, but that doesn't mean it's the ONLY valid ship!!!) And also, YES. At first I was reluctant to answer this entire ask series, but I AGREE WITH YOU. Here we go, guys... welcome to the "Connie Is A Mary Sue Ask Series"!!!

2. Yes, a lot more good points! Now that you mention it, I have noticed that she is often "the right one" and is always very mature in what she says. And yeah, she's only a human teenager with a few what, weeks? months? (months at MOST) of experience with swordfighting... and is suddenly considered an expert? It's got me thinking - WHY did the writers make Connie a swordfighter? I mean yeah, it adds flavour to the story... but it still is a very Mary Sue kind of thing.

3. ARRGHHHH I KNOW!!! This is why those few episodes are some of my LEAST favourite episodes in the show - Connie just??? blames him??? She blames him for doing a righteous thing to save his friend, a friend who later gets killed in front of Steven, who is A FOURTEEN YEAR OLD, WHO IS STRANDED ON AN ALIEN PLANET BEING HUNTED BY KILLER ALIENS AND ROBOTS - and when he comes back she's like "We could have done that together wahhh" LIKE BRO!!! HE WAS LITERALLY TRYING TO PROTECT YOU!!!!! AJHDISDISHDI (sorry, I went off there. Carry on.)

4. (Sorry, i couldnt find a part 4 in my inbox...? either a tumblr glitch or a typo... it doesnt matter either way tho, im sure the rest of the ask series works without it ^^) OOOOOHHOHOHOHO ANOTHER GOOD THING TO MENTION!!! SHE NEVER APOLOGISES!!! Legit, Connie does this crappy thing and ruins Steven's life for a couple of weeks and then NEVER apologises about it. Does she have ANY idea how much of his PTSD was caused by her? I bet she doesn't. (Also just gonna quickly mention that Spinel did one crappy thing in one day and then immediately apologised for it, claiming that she knows it caused a lot of damage to their relationship from the beginning. Call me crazy, but I absolutely believe that what Connie did to Steven was WORSE than what Spinel did (specifically TO Steven tho - I mean, Connie didn't try to destroy a planet XDDD)

5. A thing I often say to friends and fans is that Connie was a good character before Season 4, and only before Season 4. "The New Crystal Gems" is a fun episode, and I love watching it, but I cannot STAND Connie at the end of it. Suddenly, Connie is the "mature adult" who orders around the "superpowered children"!!! And YES, i know, Lapis and Peridot were very childish in that episode - but tell me, why do you think they acted that way in that SPECIFIC episode? just to make Connie even more of a Mary Sue? Yep. Anon, you're on to something. (ALSO I KNOW, Lion!! how could you?! You're disrespecting the good name of your voice actor TnT)

6. THE LIST GOES ON, ANON!!! IT GOES ON!!!!!!! (Also ITS TRUE, the protagonist's girlfriend is the "only character who can talk to them"!!!! Writers, come on. The only time this trope works is in How To Train Your Dragon. It doesn't work in Steven Universe.)

7. I think you've basically cemented my dislike for Connie x Steven now. He deserves SO much better than her. And its true, she is "so perfect!!!" Maybe the writers should have paid more attention to Jamie's play. Maybe then they would have realised that Connie has no struggles by Season 5 and 6 and just dissolved into a very unlovable character. (Also can I just say, the first ask from this anon started with "I don't hate Connie, and I'm fine with Connverse..." and then escalated to this XDDD This is iconic, thank you so much)

8. YUP. YUP, YUP, YUP. SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW LARS DIED IN STEVEN'S ARMS WHILE HE WAS GONE, AND WE NEVER SEE HER FIND OUT??? If she KNEW, if she KNEW what he went through... gosh damn. I want someone else's take on this (feel free to ignore) but why do you think gwen is white and not like black or latina or sumn bc they said we can't have black spidey but now we have miles and even mj isn't white in mcu (zendaya)...why do you think they still kept gwen white in itsv/atsv? that’s interesting i didnt think about that. the way i see it like peter parker is always gonna be white and/or jewish but other spider ppl can be anything because they arent peter. i think gwen operates on the same rules so shes always going to be white. and also remember mcu mj is not mary-jane shes a whole different character named michelle who happens to go by mj. and ned is result of them stealing ganke from miles story and putting him in the role of ned from the comics. characters like peter gwen and mj are always gonna be white. miles is the result of asking what if spider man was black and the backlash that would come with that. (cant just make peter parker black. can have more than one spidey tho.)

i might be the only fan with this opinion but i didnt really mind or care that miles had a crush on gwen because it was clearly established in the first movie and also this movie was for kids. that being said i hated it after we learned that gwen betrayed him so awfully like if they try to repair that relationship theyre wrong and dumb im swinging like WTF. (side note peter b also doesnt deserve forgiveness either)

that being said he was feeling spider byte and they would be cute together. if i engaged in spiderverse fanfic id be partial to them. i also hope her appearance in this movie makes ppl more interested in her character. also in the comics miles has black love interests. he even has a version of black cat! maybe they didnt wanna see a black couple but also ghost spider or spider gwen was a more popular character than miles love interests unfortunately.

hiii moon anon here i have a lot to say but first off: i've been analyzing the title song settle down and i've been listening to it over and over again and is the story gonna parallel the lyrics itself?? "and i don't seem to be having any effect now" like thats… oooh the angst is gonna be delicious. i hope you take this as a compliment when i say this but the whole fic takes me BACK to 2013-2015 YOU KNOW THAT ERA HAHAHA the tropes, the ambiance, the CHARACTERS!! side question: is mark or jisung gonna play bigger roles? or did they just act as plot devices for reader and haechans development. would not mind either way but given the concept of the story i can totally imagine reader coming back and just wreaking havoc on the band. sorry i love mess lol. maybe i'm delusional or maybe its the fact that it's haechan but it makes me more understanding of the character?? i trust you when you say that there's more to rockstar hc than meets the eye, and especially from his perspective it's pretty realistic that he has his guard up when it comes to really connecting with people, and we see his walls slowly crumbling down by the end too. and even in the earlier parts of the story i didn't expect him to have his sweet moments?? i honestly expected him to be worse but god him calling her PRINCESS has me on my knees i will defend reader's choices with my life because i'd do the same, i'd probably still go to the concert by the end she's so much stronger than me helppp (tho DISCLAIMER i would not be doing this for just any man its bc its haechan why i am easily swayed by the little things,,, just like reader), but i liked how she decided to take a step back this time, especially when at that point haechan is basically offering her what she has always wanted, but knowing his past actions it won't be truly easy to hang onto every word said. this is the culmination of every mixed signals and rejection that haechan gave her, and the build up to it is veryyy well done. also im still reeling from reading the fic i felt sooo many emotions and dk how to fully articulate it yet,, maybe i'll come back when i do. i even made a playlist of my own w songs that reminded me of the fic to help me move on (at least until pt 2 gets posted, cant wait tho!!)

i hope i'm not promising too much with haechan HAHA i'm not someone who likes to give too much backstory to characters so i'm just putting it out there: i'm not going to explain that he's this way becaue he was cheated on before or he had family problems etc. i just want it to be genuine layers of his character and personality that's put to the test (love making it hard for myself LOL)

that is my best friend. there is so much happening behind those eyes we cannot see what is going on in there. i want to see her grow happy and strong. i want to see her thrive. i want to see her kill destroy, maybe maim, as a treat. she deserves to make friends. all i want is to see her smile. nezuko vs daki for sure. im pretty sure i already talked abt why i like and i dont wanna be repetitive, but.  the animation. THE VOICE ACTING ON BOTH SIDES,,, never gonna get over nezukos little freak laugh it legitimately scares me. it was. so well done and completely exceeded my expectations.  such a good scene god.

Idea for a story

dude i have so many its almost sad because i never talk abt them. there was one tho, that i still think abt on occasion. back when i first watched the first season of the anime back in like, man, january of 2021?,, doesnt matter but it was probably my first au idea, which makes it kinda special to me. it was a au where basically, what if, when tanjiro came back to his home to find his family massacred, nezuko was gone. she just up and left, and he had no idea where she went, what could have happened to her. what happened to his family. giyu would be quick to show up and tell him of the existence of demons. and that since his sister wasnt here anymore, it was probably her doing. tanjiro wouldn't believe him tho, nezuko would never hurt anybody. never. and it would turn into a search. we’d get some nezuko pov too, and get to learn abt how scary it is to be a newly turned demon. it, never super went anywhere, but its a constant in the back of my mind. it would be cool to maybe do something with it some day.

uhh hm not a super fan of tiny child nezuko? idk really how to put it, but i dont like that a lot of her perception (especially in the official art) has just kinda been reduced to “omg look at the tiny cute child omg shes so cute”. like i get it i think but? but theres. more to her than that. i dont think theyre really anything wrong with how its used in the source material but. idk it just rubs me the wrong way and i feel like thats the majority of content i ever seen of her.like. shes so much more than that
