Because I'm autistic and because I love Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen, I page-by-page compared the recent Kodansha USA English release of volume 1 to its Japanese and fan-translated counterparts.

If you've read the official English translation, you may have noticed that some of the big Orufrey moments are.... a bit underwhelming, word-wise. You may have even noticed that the word "wine" is suspiciously missing from the final chapter's WillowGrape Wine recipe, in which wine is kind of an important and obvious factor in it! And you would be correct!

While most of this manga volume is pretty accurate to the original text, there is absolutely a concentrated effort to tone down the more tender Orufrey moments, as well as minimize the alcoholic nature of the final chapter's recipe and related contraptions.

And that's frustrating!

The entire draw of this manga spin-off is seeing these gay witch dads take care of each other and their four daughters in an idyllic countryside setting while also making yummy food that you the reader can try make too. Why is Kodansha USA trying to no-homo these gays?? (Is this a reflection of how bad things are in the USA now?) And while you might say, "But Jade! Qifrey and Olruggio are not actually dating in canon!" — and I would agree with you! But there is nothing straight about these mens' behavior in this comic, and if Qifrey is going to look in Olruggio's direction while tenderly saying his name in Nearly Every Chapter, I expect to read that in English, dammit!

So I'm activating my autism trap card and presenting ya'll with a thorough comparison of every mistranslated and omitted Orufrey or wine moment, complete with discussion and screenshots from the Japanese, fan-translated, and USA English versions. This post is ridiculously long and maxed Tumblr's 30-image limit so chapter 10's discussion is actually in a reblog (sob sob), so I'm putting it all under a cut (you're welcome), and you can be sure that I'll be doing this again if need be for the translated volumes releasing next year.

For now? Let's go.

CHAPTER 1: pg 10

Japanese: フフ...

Fan translated: Heh heh

English version: Ahh...

This is a small moment, but it's important because it's foreshadowing. Qifrey is "airing out" the kitchen, but what he's really doing is sending those delicious smells into Olruggio's room. He's trying to lure him into the kitchen! And that little フフ/heh heh panel is evidence that he's up to something. If you've noticed in the main series, whenever Qifrey is doing something shady or it has a double-meaning, the 'camera angle' focuses on this side of his face with the dark lens.

But the English version obfuscates this by changing フフ to "Ahh..." like, 'isn't that better,' even though it keeps the ellipsis thought bubble indicating that something is up. Why the mixed messaging?

CHAPTER 1: pg 13

Japanese: オルーギオ!

Fan translated: Orugio!

English version: Excellent!

This is the first of many moments where Qifrey will directly say Olruggio's name, and yet the English version will translate it to something else, or drop it entirely. And no, "there wasn't enough room" is not a valid excuse for most of these. Especially when Olruggio's name can (and often is) shortened to Olly.

Look at Olruggio's little smirk at making Qifrey beam happily like that. My God. Kodansha USA/translator Stephen Kohler, why would you take this from us.

CHAPTER 1: pg 14

Japanese: 二人共今日も一日　お疲れ様でした!

Fan translated: These two people are together tonight. Another day's work well done, you two!

English version: Here's to another long day... ...and a well-earned break!

The omnipresent narrator from the beginning of the chapter is back, and clearly highlighting that 'these two people' are together tonight. And yet the English version removes all that. It may be redundant since we can see they're together in the illustration, but the whole page has that type of text redundancy, like focusing on 'eating that first bite,' or how 'a laugh bubbles up' with Qifrey. And combined with all of the other later omissions, this becomes an obvious trend of targeting these specific types of moments.

Update: Thanks to Farlynthordens for additional insight on this Japanese phrase!:

二人共: (the) two of you [the "tomo" implies the narrator is talking "to" them rather than "about" them] futari-tomo means in a literal sense "(you) two people who are together", but in terms of actual usage/definition it's just identifying a specific pair of people who the speaker is talking to.

今日も一日お疲れ様でした: the rest of this can't really be separated. this whole phrase is meant to be like "good work for all the things you did over the course of this whole day". the fan translation seems to have not understood that the two text blocks were meant to be all one sentence. so if you put this all together, it's like "Good work for everything today, guys!"

Knowing this, I'll still keep it as part of the list because it does omit addressing the two of them in the English version, which follows that trend of minimizing these moments between them. But thank you for the clarity! 💕

CHAPTER 2: pg 28

Japanese:　料理も魔法器も相手のことを一番に考えるのは　君の美德だね　半分ずつだオルーギオ

Fan translated: Whether you're cooking or performing magic, you always think of others before yourself. It just goes to show your good character. We'll share it, Olruggio.

English version: I've always admired that about you. Whether in your work of in the kitchen... ...You always think of others' needs before your own. All right. Let's split it, then.

The English version has two mistranslations here. I'll start at the top. In it, Qifrey is observing how Olruggio puts others first, and then compliments how it shows his good character. The 'good character' bit is changed to "I've always admired that about you," which at first I thought was sweet! Points for Kohler. But now that I really look at it, there is still some shady translating happening here.

In writing and communicating, what is said last has the most importance. This is how people "bury the lede," by hiding important information in the early part of a speech or amid other sentences, and then distracting them with other stuff.

In that English version top panel, even though Qifrey is complimenting Olruggio, by having it be said first it makes the second speech bubble (and therefore Olruggio's flustered response) be about Qifrey remarking on Olruggio's own behavior, rather than Qifrey's nice compliment about his character. Which changes the meaning of what's going on here. Olly is not flustering because he puts others first, he's flustering because Qifrey is saying something really nice about him, right to his face!

And then of course, in the bottom panel, Qifrey saying Olruggio's name is once again removed.

And I have to say, this bothers me not just because of autistic AcCUraCY! needs, but because he is very specifically saying his name. They are the only people in the room, it's very clear who Qifrey is addressing, and yet here he is once again, putting that man's name in his mouth.

It is intentional.

It is heartfelt.

STOP REMOVING IT!

CHAPTER 3: pg 36 and 37

Japanese: (Olruggio): キーフリーそれいらないならこっちに..してくれ (Qifrey): オルーギオ　ひとつおねがい!

Fan translated: (Olruggio): Qifrey, if you won't be needing those, send them my way. (Qifrey): One pot please, Olruggio!

English version: (Olruggio): Mind if I grab those breadcrumbs from ya? I'm gonna use 'em as a binder for the patties. (Qifrey): Could you bring that pot over here for me?

This is a sweet segment because it shows how well Qifrey and Olruggio work in tandem in the kitchen. As someone who has repeatedly failed at working harmonically with others while making food, them being in sync in the kitchen is more fantastical than the actual magic.

And once again, Olruggio and Qifrey saying each other's names are removed. The Olruggio panel translation is also a bit misleading because (as you can see in the larger fan-translated photo), it's Qifrey who is controlling that wind spell! Olruggio is not "grabbing" the breadcrumbs from him, it's Qifrey who is sending them to him. It also lends to the back-and-forth of these moments because as soon as Olly's done with that pot, he gives it to Qifrey to use.

CHAPTER 3: pg 41

Japanese: ありがとうオルーギオ　行ってきます

Fan translated: Thank you, Olruggio. We'll see you later.

English version: Thank you, my friend. We'll be on our way now.

We're now at the part of the manga where Qifrey saying Olruggio's name is changed to "my friend" in the English version. Which is a phrase I'll admit I have some Daevabad baggage with, so idk, is this some platonic ray-beaming or is it code for tender feelings for that person you like but aren't ready to date yet because of trauma and societal complications? Is Stephen Kohler a Daevabad fan? So many unknowns. Still counting it as a wrong though.

CHAPTER 4: pg 56

Japanese: (Olruggio): ま... 眩しくて眠れやしない (Qifrey): がんばれ! オルーギオ

Fan translated: (Olruggio): Really... I can't sleep with all this shimmering... (Qifrey): Do your best! Olruggio.

English version: (Olruggio): Hmph. How's a man supposed to get some sleep with this thing sparklin' away over here? (Qifrey): Keep at it... ...my friend.

Qifrey literally made a bouquet of rose-shaped tarts for Olruggio to cheer up his room, so of course the English translation needs to tamp down that gayness by unnecessarily bringing up Olruggio's manhood when he complains about not being able to sleep from the tarts' sparkling. Even though this chapter's cover image is of Olruggio sitting in a field of flowers, pondering quietly as he holds one in his hand. Maybe later chapters will have Olruggio edited so he's sitting 5 feet away from Qifrey.

And again, Qifrey saying Olruggio's name in the bottom panel is changed to "my friend" in the English version.

CHAPTER 6: pg 95

Japanese: いい出来だろ? 家事の分担が大変だなんて思ってたらこんなものは作れねえぜ

Fan translated: Turned out pretty good, right? If I really thought sharing the housework was a pain, then I couldn't make something like this.

English version: Whaddya think? Not bad, huh? Sorry for leavin' you stuck with all the chores these last few days. I figure this is the least I can do.

Of all the mistranslations, this one bothers me the most. Olruggio is a wonderful malewife! He is constantly trying to help Qifrey out with the Atelier chores, in Kitchen and the main series. And yet the English translation changes the entire context of what these panels are saying.

The right panel is Olruggio proud of how good the soup tastes (it's even in a fancy bread bowl!), and yet the English translation downplays it by saying, 'Not bad, huh?'

Then the left panel, with it's sparkly background and close-up on Olly's face, goes further into how if he thought helping out with the housework was a pain, he wouldn't be capable of making stuff like this. Which is an understated way of saying that Qifrey can rely on him for things like this. (and he says it more outright in other chapters/the main series) But instead the English version is treating this soup like it's an apology for not helping out more. It's also really stupid because Olruggio was not making the soup as 'the least he could do' for Qifrey — he made it because he was hungry and wanted to eat it now! He literally admits this a few pages back!

Olruggio is not someone trying to do the bare minimum, he's someone trying to tell his control-freak of a friend that he wants to share in helping out. And the English version disappointingly misrepresents that here.

CHAPTER 10! Has several issues both Orufrey and wine related, and has several comparison segments. But because I maxed out Tumblr's 30-image limit, I can't include it here and so have to post it in a reblog. UGH. 😔

Was Natasha a kid when she met Bucky?

It’s a widespread misconception outside of winterwidow fandom that Bucky and Natasha have known each other since she was a kid. I’ve seen a handful of people object to their relationship for this reason or (sometimes in a humorous manner) comment on how weird it is. And I'd have to agree with them. Bucky dating Natasha despite having trained her since she was a child would have been utterly inappropriate, if not immoral and disgusting. However, the assumption is not only incorrect but also fundamentally impossible.

Let’s go back to the beginning to clarify why that assumption is fundamentally impossible. Different universes equal different realities, and different realities equal different characters. Sometimes characters' counterparts across multiple realities only differ in details, not the basics. MCU characters have a similar correlation with their What If counterparts but not comics’ ones, which is a grave mistake cinematic fans make. I believe that’s why we have this absurd assumption as well, from someone thinking that 616 Black Widow and Winter Soldier are the same age as their more famous counterparts.

MCU’s Natasha Romanoff was born in 1984, and Bucky – 1917. Thus, an adult-kid dynamic is plausible. If we consider cryostasis, Bucky was still pushing 30 when Natasha was born. The situation, however, is significantly different for their 616 counterparts. Let’s start with Earth 616’s Bucky Barnes, who was born in 1925, making him nearly a decade younger than the cinematic one. But that isn’t what disproves the aforementioned belief. What disproves it is that Earth 616’s Natasha Romanoff was born around 1928, making her 56 years older than her cinematic counterpart and just 3 years younger than 616 Bucky. You will find this information on the following page from Black Widow: Deadly Origin, a 2009–2010 graphic novel (which I will be using as a basis today):

This alone debunks the adult/child misconception, but I want to go one step further and discuss the timeline of Natasha's time in the Red Room and the early years of the Winter Soldier.

At the young age of 20, Bucky Barnes "died" alongside Captain America in late 1945, in last days of the war. The Russian submarine discovered Bucky's preserved body after the war while hoping to retrieve Captain America’s remains. And with that, the Winter Soldier story began, along with his role as a super soldier trainer at the Red Room for Department X.

Now, one might say, "Ana, if he was 20, Natasha was 17, which is still kind of wrong, no?". My answer is yes; it would’ve been rather inappropriate. "Would’ve been" because there’s a catch: Natasha wasn’t part of the Red Room when he joined.

I know what you’re thinking: What the fuck, wasn’t she...? Didn’t she…? So let me explain that one from the beginning.

Natasha Romanoff, then 10 years old, was brought to the Red Room in 1938 by her father figure, Ivan Petrovich (a terrible piece of shit about whom I'll write a blog), Taras Romanov, and Joseph Stalin himself. After her trainer, Wolverine, killed Taras in 1940, she let Wolverine go, fled into the woods, and was found three months later by Ivan, possibly going back under his care, which can be seen below:

She returned to the Red Room only at the age of 28, ironically enough, becauseof Ivan, which is depicted on the following page:

There, we find a collapsed building with a bleeding Ivan and a sobbing Natasha, who have been approached by …. *DRUM ROLL* …. the Winter Soldier, who has been sent by his superiors. They were both offered the super soldier serum that would save Ivan in exchange for their newfound loyalty, which Natasha accepted despite Ivan's protests.

Here we are, then: Natasha, 28, meets the Winter Soldier, roughly 31, who’ll soon be her lover and her trainer. Two adult people who met when they were both adults. And with that, we conclude our blog, disproving the infamous “she was a kid when they met!” argument.

You quickly texted him that you were indeed available for dinner, and it was nice to spend the evening with him instead of alone in your hot apartment.

You have the airconditioner running at full speed, but to no avail; the summer sun's heat keeps your apartment near 30°C the entire time.

It didn't take long for you to find a lovely sundress, a pair of brown sandals, and your sunglasses, so before you know it, you're out the door and on your way to Andy's house, where it will be much more comfortable.

It's a good thing you live close to his house because it is nearly 40°C outside, and it feels like you will melt during the short walk in your car. You like summer, but this heatwave is too much for you.

As soon as you arrive at Andy's, you sprint out of the car and into the house, sighing deeply as you close the door behind you, letting the cool air that flows through his house brush past your sweat-slicked skin.

''Hi Princess, I'm happy to see you didn't melt on your way over here!'' Andy says as he walks over to you in a light summer outfit.

You don't see him walking in shorts often, but when you do, you always make a mental note to enjoy it when you can because it is a sight for sore eyes.

''Lookin' beautiful today, did you dress up for me?'' he asks as he pulls you in for a hug, and you get a whiff of his cologne as you close your eyes, holding him a little longer than necessary.

These lingering hugs are as close as you'll get to having him in your arms, so you enjoy every second of them, though they always end way too soon.

''I did! I couldn't come over here looking like I just ran a marathon now, could I?'' you joke, and he laughs wholeheartedly, which sets your soul on fire.

The rest of the afternoon flies by in the blink of an eye, and you watch as Andy prepares dinner for the both of you while you're seated on one of the barstools as per his demand.

''You stay there, and I'll take care of dinner. Wouldn't want a repeat of last time, do we?'' he says with a big smile, referencing that you were so distracted by a random cat in his yard you accidentally burned something in the oven.

''Yeah, yeah...'' you said with a smile before taking your place on the stool, and you looked at him as he moved through the kitchen with elegant movements.

You stare as his broad shoulders taper into a small waist, seamlessly transforming into his thick thighs and long legs. His fluffy hair and full beard frame his face nicely, and his blue eyes look at you expectantly.

''W-what?'' you ask, and that's when you realize you must have zoned out for a bit as you admired him.

''I asked if you wanted a beer as well. The sauce is just now simmering, and when that's done, it's time for dinner,'' Andy repeats himself, and a deep red color spreads over your burning cheeks.

You know he caught you staring, and it only embarrasses you more. The fact that you're ogling him is one thing, but him catching you in the act is something entirely different.

''Yes, please,'' you finally respond, and he grabs two beers from the fridge before he takes his place on the stool next to you on the bar; he asks you about work and his latest case.

''Alright, food's ready!'' he says when the oven timer goes off, and he puts some food on your plate, making your mouth water at the sight.

''Enjoy, Princess,'' he says as he puts the plate in front of you, and you dig in right away after your thanks have been given.

''This was delicious, Andy, thank you so much!'' you say as you wipe your mouth with a napkin, and he clears the island you've been sitting at before grabbing two more beers and leading the way to the garden.

The temperature has dropped to a comfortable 25°C, and in the shadow, it is very comfortable as you take your place in one of his lounge chairs.

The conversation flows naturally, and it isn't until it's dark that Andy notices you start shivering because it is getting chilly outside.

''Wait, lemme grab us a blanket,'' he says as he rushes inside, and he comes out with the most enormous, fluffiest blanket he owns before grabbing hold of your hand and pulling you onto the oversized lounge couch.

''C'mere, let's cuddle so we can keep each other warm,'' he tells you, and you happily do while a warmth spreads over your cheeks again. It's not like you've never cuddled with Andy before, but tonight it feels different.

''Princess?'' Andy asks after he sips his beer, and you have both lost count of how many it has been. Neither of you is completely drunk, but you enjoy a light buzz.

''Hmm?'' you hum as you look up at him, his bright blue eyes meeting yours, a soft look on his face.

''Do you know that I love you? Like, really, REALLY love you?'' he asks, and his eyes flit from your eyes to your lips and back before he leans in and captures your lips with his.

The kiss is passionate, heated, and perfect, like something you both craved but have never given in to until now. His tongue has effortlessly found its way into your mouth, leaving you a little breathless.

When he pulls away, a huge smile is etched on your face, and he can't help but smile. After all this time, he finally told you about how he feels, and now there's no turning back.

''All these years-''

''Shut up and kiss me again!'' you say before pulling him into another kiss, and that night, you two made love until the sun came up the next day.

What started as a friendship of nearly two decades has slowly turned into the sweetest, most loving relationship you have ever known, and there's no chance either of you would have wanted it any other way.

How Valentino got Angels Soul

I just realized something about the dynamic between Valentino and Angel Dust. It rather obvious now I look back on it, but with all my rewatches, I sort of took the two together at face value.

I assumed, without much thought, Angel Dust was a new soul. Scared shitless and took the first deal that offered him some type of protection-Valentino. It's just the vibe I picked up on.

But I actually, thought about them more today and realized how wrong I was with that point blank view.

Angel died in 1947 while Val was 1970's. Angel been wondering around Hell with his own soul for minimum of 3 decades and been going by the name Anthony the entire time. -'Im putting Valentino being powerful overlord in the 80s.

Side note: I personally headcanon, it takes a new soul to achieve overlord power the minimum of 10 years with the exception of Alastor. The new sinner need time to adjust to their new bodies, learn their abilities, and the politics and ways of Hell. And the sinner needs to gain their power a little slowly, I think if they go to fast it alarms other overlords and just make the wannabe overlord a target. So, I say 10 years minimum to achieve overlord power. 10 years a drop in the bucket in eternity)

Other side note: I think Angel Dust soul is actually older than Val if you combine their biological age and their time in Hell. Weird right? What's weirder is Angel biological age is a few years younger then Alastor. whaaaaa? Angle just vibing he is much younger then Alastor when they were alive but apparently Angel died in his 30s, while Alastor is 30-40s

So how did the two got together?

Well, for starters, I think Angel was just scraping by Hell for those first few decades. He lived literally in a Hellhole. Get it? because they are in Hell? nevermind. Anyways, his living quarters was probably literally some hole in a wall that he found and probably have to share with other unfortunate souls. Any money Angel scraps up and spent on drugs. He lived his days getting fucked up by drugs or suffering withdrawals. He sold himself for quick cash grabs for more drugs.

Then one night, Valentino found Angel trying to do one of these quick cash makes. He saw a lot of potential in Angel. He so gorgeous. He promise to make Angel night worthwhile if he gets in his limo. Which to be honest, is the fancy place he done in what he felt like forever.

Angel didn't realize who he was dealing with. A freshly raisen overlord. "He doesn't pay attention to politics" remember?

It was a grand night. The drug flowed and Angel basically had the taste of the high life hanging with Val that night. Angel tried new drugs that night too. He usually strapped for cash so when he bought drugs, it was something familiar. He didn't want to spend his nearly non existent cash on something he didn't know on how it hits. Eventually Val took Angel to his place and had sex. Val purposely wasn't ruthless during this. In fact, Angel never felt more safe since he landed in Hell.

Val try to sway Angel to selling his soul to him. Making promises that were too good to be true. "I'll make you a star, famous!" "No one will dare harm you if you are contracted to me." All the while, blowing smoke in Angel face and other pheromone based moves. Angel was tempted but there no way he was selling his soul.

"I only own you partially...I will only own you while you are in my studio...I own you part time and you get the full time benefits."

Angel was still on the hesitate and left. While Val cooing "you know where to find me when you change your mind."

Angel return to his shit hole home. After the night of spent living the good life...it was extra miserable. Val pheromones was still in his system. He missed feeling safe in Val four arms with the promise of protection. The new drugs...which he starting to crash from pretty hard. He needs that fix again...bad.

Angel returned asking if the deal still available. One that can make him famous and be protected by Val.

-yes

"I can still keep my soul? that you only own it while in your studio?

-yes. Sensing Angel is still hesitant and using the knowledge that Angel complained about his living situation after seeing the sweet grand living space Val has. "How about I sweeten the deal...I'm feeling very generous. I can offer you room and board if you were more hours to earn it." Angel perked at this. "You will have your very own room...right at the studio...how convenient is that?" Angel was ecstatic about the idea of his own space. privacy and comfort. Fuck yea.

(Im sure theres more technical bits like, Angel required to work minimum of 40 hours a week to however long Val wants him. That way Angel can't just walk away when he had enough. It also give Val a loophole of making him work longer hours)

Which is why Val was so furious when Angel moved out. He lost complete control on Angel soul by that. I wouldn't be surprised actually forgot that clause and was pleasantly surprised when he realized he didn't feel the constraint invisible chain outside the studio.

"It's a deal" Not fully realizing that Val owns his soul outside of filming while in the studio. Angel signed and Val set out some celebrotory drugs.

Angel recognized it from the other night and its the new ones that he really enjoyed. "What's this stuff called again?"

"Angel Dust, its popular in my time." Val answered without looking up from the newly signed contracted. "Hey darling, you need to pick a stage name, Anthony not going to cut it."

Angel considers it for a moment as he done a line. Drugs got him into Hell, this drug got him back to Val it seem only fitting and it sounds pretty. "Call me Angel Dust."

Again, its pretty obvious why Val was so upset that Angel moved in retrospect but their dynamic changed a lot to me once I looked more into it. It explains why Anthony signed his name with his real name...because he didn't have his porn star name yet. Angel Dust was huge during Val time and not really around as much during Angel. So I can see Val introducing it to Angel and getting him hooked on it and also inspired his porn star name.

Just my idea but who knows, some of you might enjoy it.

So I may have sort of accidentally created a new One Piece Au whilst starting to write up my other One Piece Au (Fallout). (Both are just in the draft stages atm, it's the first time I have done any creative writing in a while so it may take me a while

The Au (current title Dawn: Den of demons) is kinda a mash of a timeline divergence mixed with time travel fix. Where through soul and time BS, certain character's souls are transported into a alternate timeline through essentially reincarnation, in such they are reborn as demons.

As a result of this, Luffy's family has him having more brothers, two sisters, eight cousins, three uncles, one aunty and a Grunkle!

Demon lore : (it might be a little confusing so I'll try my best to explain it)

Please feel free to ask questions or for any clarification as I'll gladly answer.

Demons are a secret race that lives by hiding in amongst humans, after nearly being hunted to extinction centuries prior.

Demons are the only known race to be able to reincarnate, with some demons still having memories from the void century (however that is now becoming a rarity as less and less demons are being born and living long enough to regain those memories through the Dream)

Modern demons are born with a protective glamour called a Veil. This allows demons to remain concealed from birth and later as they age, obtaining the ability to 'lift' their Veil and reveal their true form underneath.

Demonic biology:

2-3 sets of horns

Tails (can feathered, furred, scaled or carapace)

patterned markings on face, back, chest, upper arms and legs

elongated fangs and tongue (some having venom glands for defensive or mating purposes)

retractable claws

two vocal separate cords (one demonic one human)

inhumane sense of hearing and smell

Scent glands and pheromones

Pointed ears (often furred)

Near perfect night vision

black sclera with abnormally shaped irises (normally silver, gold or red)

Digitigrade feet [walking on the balls of the foot] (can be paws, hooves, webbed or reptilian)

inhuman strength and speed

extremely tall (twice the size as their human appearance) ranging from 10ft - 20ft tall

voracious appetites

There are three known ways for a demon to be born:

Having one or more parents being a demon(s)

Having latent demonic heritage

Blood to blood contact with a Full Blood demon (this is the only way a human can become a demon but rarely crates Full Bloods)

However it has been known that if a human has continuous long exposer to demons, they begin to gain minor demonic traits such as:

enhance sense of hearing and smell

minor scent gland and pheromone development

enhanced speed, strength, and durability

increased appetite

increased aggression

territorial or hoarding behaviours

nesting behaviours

Different Blood Types:

Full Blood - Demons with strong blood heritage (often with direct ancestry back to the original 7 demons)

Rare Blood - Demons born of two human parents (as a result of distant demonic ancestry)

Half Blood - Demons with human parentage or were humans that were sired by a Full Blood (true forms are half the size that of a Full Blood) However, Half Bloods are still capable of having Full Blood young but only in extremely rare cases

Demon Age milestones and terms:

Kitten (0-5) - infant

Kit (5-10) - toddler/child -> experiences first Dream

Cub (10-20) preteen/teenager -> second Dream

Baron (20-30) young adult -> Can now leave their Litter independently and gain mate/territory as they are considered self-sufficient

Elder (30 +) Most modern demons don't often live long despite being capable of living 200+ years, this is due as demon ages it gets harder for them to conceal their true forms often leading to them being found by demon hunters.

Litter - A group of young demons that live together (siblings or orphaned demons can form Wandering Litters as a method to protect themselves in the scenario where the Den is no longer safe or are unable to find a Den, with the youngest members being prioritised in these groups)

Brood - a demon family unit that is overseen by one or more adults (demon or human can be in charge of a brood)

Clan - The Clans are the descendance of the original 7 demons who where created by The First - who was known as Darkness-Given-Form or simply The Dark One. The original 7 where named after the seven sins, with the clans named after their respective founder. Each clan has their own physical and behavioural characteristics often being differentiated by a demon's horns, tails and marking.

Den - the main home to a singular or group of demons, dens are considered a safe place that demons can unveil and relax. Den often comprise of a communal nest, eating and food prep area (mainly comprising of meat) and a hoard pile. Demons are naturally extremely territorial of their nests, commonly attempting to kill anyone who eve they suspect of trespassing. NEVER enter a demon den without the express invitation of the residence, trying otherwise will just result in a gruesome death.

The Dream is considered a sacred rite of passage for demon, as in the eve of their first and second decades of life, the young demon falls into a week long fevered sleep where they begin to recount the memories and experiences of their previous lives (with in rare cases being able to 'communicate' with a previous life)

As a result of being continuously hunted through the years, demons have become naturally distrustful of humans. However in the rare case a human gains a demon's full trust, they can be given a unique scent marker that tells other demons that human has become a Trusted. This mark would allow the human status within a clan or brood, and gives them similar rights and privileges as if they were a demon.

I try not to respond to anyone on Twitter but every single time I see that shit about ''j-hope solos boycotted JITB'' I'm no longer gonna let it slide because it's just a blatant lie and it's so tiresome that the fandom continues to try and peddle it.

Every single time I have seen Twitter ARMY dogpile a solo demanding they show they support j-hope they've come back with pictures upon pictures of their multiple Weverse albums and vinyls. I saw one woman who bought 30!!!! vinyls alone and we all know how damn expensive they were so she literally spent over $1.5k by herself to buy it that many times.

Yet if you do the same thing to a lot of these ARMY accounts, ask that they prove they bought it suddenly it's ''I don't have to prove anything to anyone'' ''I know how I support my faves'' blocks the person who asks, or goes private so they can avoid it altogether. As they proceed to make excuses to their followers to try and save whatever decent number of people that tend to back these accounts and ''know their heart'' or some shit.

I'm just sick of it. We know the numbers on JITB, it's sitting pretty under 700k nearly a year since it came out. Some of the biggest BTS fan accounts on Twitter have over a million followers, the BTS official accounts across platforms have 10's of millions of followers, BTS is said to have the largest fandom in the world, and yet a whole year later j-hope's first solo album can't even reach 1 million sales (neither has Namjoon's but I'll stay focused here).

But sure, it's TOTALLY j-hope solos fault for boycotting when by the nature of being a solo he's the only member they would even want to support...that makes total sense apparently.

Like it's one thing to just be honest maybe with ''I didn't buy it because it was too expensive'' or ''I don't really like his music so I didn't buy'' (or the truth that most of them are solos for other members) it's another to try and use a scapegoat to lie because these people are literally too afraid of the backlash from other fans because yeah, the fandom is toxic and they don't wanna deal with the reaction. So it's easier to just place blame on a smaller group who can only defend themselves because ARMY hate them anyway. It's just so incredibly mind-numbing and annoying I can't stand it.

M*A*S*H - Viewguide, S5

Are you interested in the long-running anti-war situation tragicomedy M*A*S*H (1972-1983), but there are simply so many asterisks and so many episodes?

Well I can’t help you with the asterisks, but nor can I help myself: I started watching all 11 seasons of M*A*S*H, and bringing back for you my viewing selections, chosen for The Qualities.

This season overall I'd say feels kind of, mild? Less low lows and less high highs. Just middley. I nearly included one episode almost wholly for the appeal of being maybe 75% set at night (something I would do), and secondly for the appeal of Hawkeye sleepwalking, when he's not waking from nightmares. But it's very I'll say "Season 5" in that despite this, it's just, I don't know somehow milder than I might want, especially when this set-up naturally recalls the much odder and eerier 'Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde' from Season 2, with (and possibly even because of) its spikier swings between the antic and traumatic.

But it happened that a lot of the stronger stuff here lent itself to putting together something of a more focused character collection. So welcome to our Special Issue!, highlighting the previously maybe somewhat under-served Major Margaret Houlihan, and Captain BJ Hunnicutt:

5x03 ‘Margaret’s Engagement’ - So fun to me that Margaret & Frank transitioning from “secret” lovers to “secret” exes is somehow the exact same mood while having the opposite content. Ending comes out of nowhere and on a pretty weak joke, but when it's just Hawkeye & BJ lounging on each other on Margaret’s bed as she hops around showing them her goofy little engagement ring, that’s the Margaret & The Boys ‘Silly Mood’ vibes I've been missing, baby. Loretta Swit is back!

5x06 ’The Nurses’ - This one made me cry??? It was written and directed by women. It’s about women having complex relationships with each other. Bechdel Test smashed, only took us four seasons!

5x08 ‘Dear Sigmund’ - It's the context here that really has me like, haha totally. This is the first episode they’ve let Alan Alda write all himself in three calendar seasons, and he's like great, okay: can I just get down nothing but a bunch of character meta and headcanons for everyone and put that up as TV? Yeah Victor Hugo that sounds wild, please do.

5x09 ‘Mulcahy’s War’ - Father Mulcahy goes out to the front to experience the horrors (more), but amazingly the real reason I'm including this one is that Gary Burghoff’s distressed little straight man hilarity here made me laugh so, so much, and then have a staggering realization: the character of Radar O'Reilly is absolutely the progenitor of Guillermo de la Cruz.

5x10 ‘The Korean Surgeon’ - Would be worth it for Hawkeye & BJ talking to Radar in the mess tent ALONE (Gary Emmy-winning year). But also I love their kind weary surgeon friend from ~the other side~

5x15 ‘The Most Unforgettable Characters’ - At 10 minutes in I'd thought, alright this is probably just another middle sort of one, and then at 10 minutes and 30 seconds, BJ (BJ, baby??!) spontaneously proposes that he and Hawkeye spend the rest of the episode play-acting that they're fighting to entertain Frank for his birthday, inspiring Barbara Kruger four years later to go, y'know what, I'm gonna have to comment on this.

5x19 ‘Hanky Panky’ - You tell me “BJ episode where he cheats on his wife,” and I’m going to say, “hm well that’s not the kind of character development I think I want,” but I would be wrong about that! A) love her, she's great in this, B) there is one particular revelation BJ shares here that is just, exquisite information. I will say no more at this juncture (Watch Notes: Coming soon!), but in light of oh, a lot: oh my god.

5x25 ‘Margaret’s Marriage’ - Let’s bookend this! One thing I love about long episodic seasons, is that after Margaret somehow ever more hilariously saying the name ‘Lieutenant Colonel Donald Penobscott’ for 22 episodes, the man finally appearing felt like forbidden Beckett.

And also now say bye-bye, Frank [chorus: bye-bye, Frank!]

My Favorite Albums of 2022*

*not necessarily from 2022

Over the past 12 months, I've somehow acquired 260 CDs, so instead of doing a standard, "Top of 2022 list," I figured I'd share 10 favorite additions to my ever-growing collection, no matter if they were released in 2022 or not. I'll also do it in alphabetical order by album name for simplicity's sake (and 10 out of 260 is already subjective enough!). Here goes!

Tyler, the Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost

The brilliant wordplay more than warrants Tyler's oozing braggadocio but the fact that, in many cases, that same braggadocio is only thinly veiling deep insecurities elevates this to a truly astonishing level. "Drama, I need you. Can you turn the noise up?" isn't about getting the party hyped, it's about drowning out that critical voice in the back of your head. It's a call for help. It's a masterwork by an MC who's, somewhat surprisingly, coming for a Top 5 spot.

Soul Glo - Diaspora Problems

The CD came with liner notes and lyrics but you basically need a magnifying glass to read them. But you should get one. Because they're worth it. Verbose, brilliant, genre jumping hardcore.

The Beths - Expert in a Dying Field

Do you remember when "Mr. Brightside" came out and it basically was the "end-all, be-all" song about jealousy? "Expert in a Dying Field," is "Mr. Brightside" for breakups. The rest of the album is just icing on the cake. But the icing is also ridiculously good. Like nearly as good as the cake itself.

Origami Angel - Gami Gang

Dumb puns for song titles ("Neutrogina Spektor," "Tom Holland Oates," "Bed, Bath, and Batman Beyond,"), Pokémon, Game Boy, and Taco Bell references, and a smattering of sick riffs, anthemic choruses, and furious tapping. These 20(!!!) songs are more than just an album, they're a goddamn mission statement for a new generation of nerdy emo kids.

The Hotelier - Like No Place Is There

I can imagine Guy and Ian listening to this album and saying, "yeah, this is exactly where we imagined the genre ending up 30 years later." Devastating, cathartic, rough around the edges, but full of melody, and, most importantly, empathy.

Drug Church - Hygiene

Folks keep labeling this "hardcore," but its New Wave and 90's Alt-Rock influences are too abundant to keep it pinned down. Plus, it's catchy as fuck. An excellent 26 minutes that gets better with each listen.

Pusha T - It's Almost Dry

Focus on the latter half of Pusha's statement of purpose: "Cocaine's Dr. Seuss." It's not just that he raps about slinging coke, it's that he loves the words he uses to rap about slinging coke. That joy, that creativity, that fun is abundant on these 12 tracks. Hell, he even gets Jay to join in. (Hot take: Jay's verse on "Neck & Wrist," is better than his verse on "God DID.")

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour

A stone-cold-classic that I finally picked up on CD. Maybe my favorite from the fab four.

Denzel Curry - Melt My Eyez See Your Future

Stripping away the vocal acrobatics and spectacle that instantly hooked me, Denzel keeps his tone simple and direct and his lyrics powerful and personal, further highlighting his talent and chameleonic abilities.

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

Holding the controversial opinion that DAMN. was a clear step backwards, from the opening moments of "United in Grief," it was clear that K. Dot made a sharp turn back to the complexity and nuance of TPAB and GKMC. It's a deeply uncomfortable listen, giving us an in-depth view of a man struggling to find his true self and how that clashes with who others want (need?) him to be. It's messy and difficult and problematic and exactly the type of album only Kendrick can make.

That 90s shows rubs me the wrong way, but I can still find enjoyment.

It really just needed someone to say "Hey, hold on, that wasn't very Tude of you, my dude." During production. 4K is understandable to record in, but man does it crap all over the potential artistry of the 90s. Just all over.

That and the camera work is awkward. Too often I was asking if the camera man could actually see what they were shooting entirely, so much deadspace, little concentration, it only hits randomly otherwise it's not bad throughout, but you'll have moments where you can physically put yourself in the cameraman's shoes and ask "wtf am I doing they're over here not there."

Ep1 had...indated? Modern chip bags in the background, which really just seems like a "no..duh, how did we get here..." Who brought anything modern on set, that's the real question.

Randomly, I'm talking I couldn't find a connective artistic reason, they add film grain to make it feel more like a VHS, but it's absolutely random, probably should've just added it throughout, it would've gone a long way to solve my next problem:

Way, way to clean cut. These actor's clothes are made for this series, I can physically feel the starchiness. Way too new, feel far too modern, clean af, no folds anywhere, and nothing that screams "90s" Idunno man, maybe old recordings made everyone look less clean cut, but 4K doesn't help when seeing these 3D models dropped into the real world. Like, a Pimple would be preferable to baby skin on these "15 year olds." Also maybe a tear in their clothes? It's the 90s, where's my damn broken jeans?

Y'know I thought I'd hate the characters, but nah, they aren't as good as that 70's, but it's the first 10 episodes compared to an entire series, season 1 was rough for 70s as well, so honestly, I can see a good future for all of them, other than Ozzie.

Look man, I get it. The second I heard him I knew it was pandering, and one that like...hits way too soon? Like he comes out 3rd or 4th episode. It's the 90s. A small town. I'm not asking for people to come make fun of Ozzie for being gay, I'm just asking for, you know, a more realistic interpretation of 90s gays. Without the androgynous voice. Though I do love Kitty's reaction, very whole 100 keanu. But holy shit the voice. Please god why. Like...okay, I'll let it slide, but...why? Artistically, whyyyy?

Then of course there's a Bi scene. Bro ya'll moving way too fast. If it matters ya gotta give it air to breathe before jumping straight into another gay storyline. It feels like a 1 2 of pandering back to back.

And look I'm not saying jack shit a republican would. I'm simply saying they made gay stories as a seperate entity to cover, and did it twice back to back. It's not treated as a "normal" event, is what I mean. It's just so rapidfire I had a whiplash of "Okay ya'll I get ya had 10 episodes but maybe pace yourselves."

Other than that, like everyone else has been saying, Red and Kitty carried it, but I do want these actor's to have a season 2. I want to see them get their footing before I truly judge it.

If it's cancelled, and it's netflix, then that's utter shite and makes me feel like it was made to fail. Let them spread their arms at least, they just got to the diving board. Honestly confident they could make it nearly as good as 70s if ya give them 3 seasons, 30 episodes minimum.

Writing Announcement - First Challenge

As you probably know, or if you didn't, now you do, I write fanfics. I have been writing for 10 years (yes, it has apparently been that long). I have been writing under Jackie Wepps for 10 full years as of this past May (I can't believe it).

But in all this time, I have never done a single challenge. The reason is mainly that the idea of doing it never seemed appealing. Besides, I didn't know where to go to participate. I have always been writing as a "free spirit" for the most part, only accepting few requests, which I have done poorly in fullfilling.

But then a friend sent me a link to a post because she thought I might find it fun. I wasn't planning on doing it, but then ideas began to sprout in my head, and now, here I am.

So here it is.

I'm participating in MaeIso week 2022!

I'm planning to post a total of 8 works, I have 2 for the first day. It's all going to come up on AO3. I'm planning some art for one of the stories, however, which will be posted here, because I still don't know how to put art in the stories on AO3.

The works are all written, I just need to edit them and they will be good to go. Oh, and I need to rethink the title for the last one. Good thing I still have some time left to do that.

I look forward to sharing it all with you. I hope you will enjoy reading my works as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

Jackie in Japan - Natural Disasters

In Japan, nature seems to be the ruler of things. There are vulcanos, earthquakes, tsunamis and typhoons. In short, all four elements can come bother us whenever they want.

I shouldn't be in need of talking to you about vulcanos, and hopefully tsunamis will not be a conversation topic either. The only way is if I experience one. All else I can say can be found on the internet, much better explained than what I can do. I'll get to earthquakes eventually, no matter if I experience one or don't. However, the conversation topic for today is typhoons.

Typhoons are fairly common in Japan, especially in fall. They can apparently last anywhere between a few hours to a few days. They occur every year and are always taken seriously, no matter how big or small they may be.

Typhoon 11 is currently passing through Japan. Last week, it was going south, over Okinawa, but as one of my teachers said, it changed its mind and went north instead, to travel through Japan (Can't blame it. Japan is a nice country to travel through).

There has been talk about it since Friday last week. We were instructed to prepare to our best ability. We were to buy as much food and drink as possible, to last us for 3 days, in case it got really bad and we wouldn't be able to be selfsufficient for a time. I admit, I wasn't very good at that.

The typhoon was first predicted to take 2 days coming through, Monday and Tuesday this week. It was later predicted to last about a day, all Tuesday I think, and then just the night between Monday and Tuesday.

I woke up around 3 in the morning and heard the wind blow. I tell you, it was powerful, and a little scary, like thunder, but other than that, it just passed by. It had nearly died down completely by the time I got out of bed at 7:30. Nothing has changed outside, so it definitely wasn't bad this time. But maybe we won't be so lucky next time.

I want to know, what are your experiences with this? I'd love to read them.

WARNING! About Comments on AO3

To anyone who is lucky enough to not have noticed this yet, there is spam going on on AO3. I woke up to 15-16 comments, all from guest users containing a series of numbers and letters as well as a link. All of them have female names, Karen, Mary and stuff like that. I have asked someone I know to look into the link and he claims it is a "somewhat" innocent porn site (his words translated).

To be fair, I'm not sure I believe the other thing that has caused people to private their works for users only, so I originally opted to keep my works open, as I value anonymous responses to my works as much as those from registered users.

However, I will not be associated with things like what those comments link to. I have therefore, in light of these two events, decided that only AO3 users can read my works as of a few minutes ago. I will also be enabling comment moderation in the future as this will not happen again. I encourage you all to do the same.

Furthermore, I'm sure people do not need reminding in this day and age, but in case you do: do not touch a link unless you know where it goes or trust the person who sent it to you. Thanks to many experiences with things like this and many long talks with my parents in my teenage years, I know to be careful about this. If you are unsure of a link someone has sent you, please feel free to talk to me. I am no expert, but I believe I am getting really good at finding out what links to trust and what links not to trust. If I can't do it, I know an expert.

That is all. It pains me that it has to come to this, but as I said, I will not tolerate things like that in connection to my works. Thank you for your understanding.

Like a lot of jam bands, Goose seem to slowly but deliberately cycle through which of their songs are their go-to "jam vehicles" every few tours. "Time To Flee" was nearly always an odyssey during the COVID era, then they played it straight for awhile, and just recently it's started to become a reliable launchpad for deep-space exploration again. "Elizabeth" started out as a straightforward, bluegrass-y number and has recently developed into some crazy jams. Upon their debuts, songs like "Animal" and "Atlas Dogs" turned in a lot of 15+ minute versions, but nowadays both tend to be played much more conservatively. Even some of the new songs introduced this year have had a bit of a trajectory already: "Everything Must Go," as an example, started off as a ballad-type song with a guitar solo attached and has recently expanded out into a few of my favorite late-2023 jams. In particular, the 10/6 and 11/16 versions have been great. I'll likely write about at least one of those two eventually.

"Thatch," however, is a song that was an absolute monster right out of the gate and has stayed that way since. According to the Goose nerd internet, it was debuted on 11/13/22 and has been played twenty-eight times total so far. While my memory is far from perfect, nearly all (if not all) of these versions get Out There in some way, shape, or form. Like with any other song, I have versions I like more than others, but it's safe to say that whenever the opening riff of "Thatch" hits, you know you're in for a journey.

So, maybe it was inevitable that I'd end up writing about a few of the versions that were played during the Euro tour. I'll say straight out that the 11/16 version is one of my favorite things I've ever heard the band play, but for the sake of keeping things chronological-ish, I'm going to write about the 11/7 version today, because it's also good, if not necessarily transcendent like 11/16's.

I should say right off that there are a lot of things about "Thatch" that remind me of what is maybe Phish's best-known song, "Tweezer." I'm hardly a visionary for pointing out that Phish is one of Goose's big influences, or that "Thatch" and "Tweezer" have some similarities in particular, but I wanted to mention this at the onset because one of the main things that makes "Tweezer" so memorable, in my opinion, and what makes the crowd lose their minds every time the band starts playing it is the song's main riff. I don't necessarily think of Goose as a band that's as riff-driven as Phish, but I will say that in my experience the opening riff from "Thatch" definitely gets the crowd's attention in the same way, and is just as catchy in its own right. In this particular version, Peter lays on his weird siren effect at the onset, too, which doesn't always happen, but I feel like it should from now on.

One of the things that made me fall in love with this song pretty much the first time I heard it is how the band absolutely slams into the funk part of the song from the main riff. It happens at 0:48 in this version, and while the mix on this particular video doesn't convey it super-well (at least on the headphones I'm wearing right now), you can feel the rhythm section absolutely blast your skeleton in person and it's awesome.

Another thing I love about this song is Trevor's basslines during these verses. Again, a little tough to hear on this version because of the mix, but...man.

Well, I could go on for a bunch of paragraphs about the things I love about this song before we even get to the jam (Peter's piano solo, Rick's guitar solo, Peter's goggles, etc.), but I'll try to reign myself in...

Okay, so the improv starts with some great funk jamming at 5:30. I'm glad the camera cuts to Ben here because he just goes nuts (in a great, light-touch way) at the beginning of this. I don't talk about the percussion as much as I should in these videos only because I'm a guitarist myself and so I tend to focus on the melody instruments when I listen to this or any band just out of habit, but I have no notes for either drummer in this band in general, and on "Thatch" in particular they are always both fantastic and necessary for what makes the song great.

I could listen to Rick chord while Peter plays the clavinet all day. But...in this case, Peter seems to surprise himself by hitting what I think of as "the Mario coin sound" on his rig at 6:30 (I love that the camera catches this, too) and that changes the direction of the jam a bit. He blends a more mellow organ sound and the coin noise here for awhile while the rest of the band sits back in laid-back funk mode.

One of the things I feel like I've noticed happening a bunch more in the Euro tour than in past tours is the band being willing to sort of hang out in mellow, almost minimalist jam spaces for a long time without immediately moving to any of their go-to tricks. While I've talked to some other fans who find this sort of thing boring, I think it's added another layer of versatility to their improv and, if anything, makes it way less boring. The bit here from about 7:00 until 10:00 is a good example of this: I can hear everyone in the band listening and playing off of each other, and it feels like they're letting Peter be in the driver's seat a bit, even though he's kind of just picking around on the keys, feeling his way through the space instead of shredding or playing a lot of notes just for the sake of playing a lot of notes. I'd love to hear more of this kind of stuff during the next tour!

I really like what Trevor starts playing around 9:00. Not to belabor the comparison, or detract from Goose being Goose, but it sounds a ton like something Mike Gordon would play...during a "Tweezer" jam.

At 10:00, Peter throws out some synthesizer and Rick sharpens his tone a bit, and it feels like we're moving into a new space. Rick takes a bit more of a lead, but he and Trevor seem to be playing off of each other here in a great way.

One of the things these guys do really well in their jams that should work as well as it does, in my opinion (a sort of pineapple-on-pizza thing, if you will) is combine this kind of aggressive, almost over-processed-guitar-tone soloing with synthesizers. It seems like it shouldn't work, but somehow it does, and you end up with bizarro-funk jams like what starts happening here at 11:00. Sheesh.

At 12:00, we stay in the synth space, but Rick switches from funk soloing to something a bit more anthemic. This also feels like one of those sections that makes me really appreciate the mixing and matching that Ben and Jeff do so well.

...Rick goes bonkers at 13:35 and how the absolute hell does the rest of the band know to follow him instantly?! These guys are nuts. I rewound this part twice when I was watching the show originally because it broke my brain. I love it.

They keep weaving in and out of this ascending-the-staircase sort of thing for awhile and listening to Rick modulate it around is super fun. He doesn't do this entirely cleanly, but considering they're making it all up on the fly, who would?

15:50 is a quick tension build out of this jam and then we drop back into the "Thatch" key for a bit of straightforward rock shredding before Rick beats us over the head with the "Thatch" riff again at 17:00 to wrap up the song.

11/7 was a heck of a show, but I'm finally moving on from talking about it! Next time it'll be "Animal" from 11/13, which went a little bit of everywhere!

⚠️ My Patreon may be shutting down in the coming months

Wanted to post about this earlier but frankly I didn't have the energy or will to bother. This is an important announcement so if you're a Patreon supporter please read the first half.

Since the beginning of the year, Patreon has been harassing NSFW creators with a new policy requiring them to hand over sensitive documents to the platform. They've been doing this to target creators for age discrimination… sorry, I meant to say age verification. Hiding behind the excuse that Mastercard is making them do it, those who went through the process describe being asked to install a special app on their phone and film themselves holding sensitive identity documents in front of their webcam… yes, literally like ISIS hostages when they're filmed by their captors and the video sent to authorities for ransom. Needless to say no common sense observations, like the fact I've been on this internet for nearly 20 years and would have had to register on many websites when I was some -3 years old, are enough to make it clear I'm well in my 30's for those so desperate to kiss my ass about my personal and private life and identity. How does a child open their own bank account anyway… like you just walk into a bank and say "my name is Nina, I'm 10 years old, and mommy sent me to open an account and get my own credit card" in the minds of those people?

It goes without saying that I will not be subjecting myself to such abuse. Both due to the ridiculous and disgusting motive behind it, as well as it being blatant identity theft that should be illegal in any normal country. At the moment my Patreon is still functional and there are no restrictions only periodic popups, however they threatened that our ability to pay out may eventually be suspended. As such my Patreon is now on borrowed time: I'm using those potential last months to get as much as possible out of it before it all goes down. Unless some miracle happens and they get their heads screwed on straight, my plan is to shut down my page the second they introduce limitations that makes it unusable. For this reason I'd like all supporters to be on standby as I don't want you losing your money: I'll immediately make a new announcement the moment these bastards place restrictions so you know to pull out! If given the option I'll remove every supporter myself or revert to a non-creator page which should do the trick.

I've thought about requesting they revert my page back to SFW creator but don't think I'll go that route: First of all I'd need to find and delete countless posts I made over the years… those fools will surely look through all my stuff anyway, I don't want them seeing and judging it with their broken little primate minds that may perceive god knows what atrocity. My main problem is even if I made the request, they likely still label SFW content as NSFW even when it's not explicit; There are rumors of staff members being intoxicated about themes like furry / macro / vore into thinking it's undercover sexual content or some shit… something similar happened on Youtube, it's why independent animation has been impossible or at best risky to post there in recent years. I don't want to live with the feeling that I stand to be attacked for anything I post when I least expect it… platforms like Furaffinity and some governments are causing that enough as it is.

If I do shut down I'll likely keep creating content and posting it for free in the other galleries, as I always had before Patreon came into existence. For as long as even that remains legal and won't require logging in with the United Nations to be allowed to share or view art, seems that's what some psychopaths would like if they had their way. My goal is to move to decentralized platforms like Mastodon, though I'm still waiting for something better suited for media that uses mirroring / seeding for proper censorship resistance. In this way I plan on living off the money I have left and simply creating what I like how I still can, till I either die or am arrested for it under Western Sharia Law.

Not worth going into any more of a rant beyond that. Just never forget that in the year 2023 during the age of logic science and technology, it became impossible or a danger to make a living off creating art, reasons including religious superstition left over from the industrial revolution about porn being harmful to children up to merely seeing or creating fictional art on the fucking internet. I'm just baffled to remember all the nice dreams I had about the future more than 10 years ago, when in my stupidity I thought we'd have a real civilization and America in particular would be heaven on Earth; Took quite the hard lessons to realize the human species will never evolve past the status of tribal savages, you could throw holograms flying cars and warp drives at this world and it will remain but a medieval society with some technology sprinkled on top. I'm past hating anyone for better or worse… at least people, I will die hating the concept of human morality and notion of "empathy" used in their attempts to control and destroy me: When my time comes, maybe even a not so distant future seeing this planet made it clear I'm not supposed or allowed to be alive and exist here, it will at least be without any real regrets.
