Thatch: it's about time, you've been in there for days.

Izou: I was wondering if we'd ever see you again.

Marco: it felt like I was gonna be in there forever, I swear if Big Mom attacks us ever again I'll kill her myself, pop's be damned.

Ace: yeah, but it could be worse though. Thankfully it's quiet tonight, so I doubt anything'll happen

Marco, Izou, and Thatch: *give him a look of horror*

Ace: what?

Izou: you just did not say that!

Ace: say what?

Thatch: you basically just jinxed us!

You: *comes out when you hear them yelling* what happened?

Izou: he just said the q word

You: oof

Ace: I'm sorry, I take it back, alright.

Marco: sorry, doesn't unjinx us *points the file folder in his hand towards Whitebeard's lodgings, holding it there only a hair away from your face.* Go tell Pops and the rest of the crew to remain vigilant and careful because things may go tits up soon because of your stupidity

You: *about to be so fucking funny*

Ace: alright, find.

Marco: and don't use the q word when explaining.

You: *takes a bite out of his file and spits the pieces into his hand*

WIP Wednesday 2/28/24 (CLOSED) | Pretty Boy

They get back to the house and with one last squeeze they release one another's hands before heading out of the car. The door is unlocked and Andrew rolls his eyes imagining that the group hadn't really noticed that Andrew and Neil hadn't been coming in behind them.

They get ready for bed, brushing their teeth, using the toilet, and changing. When Andrew comes back to the room he finds Neil already changed and under the covers.

He crawls into bed in the dark and when he slides under the comforter he's a bit surprised to realize that Neil's wearing a sweatshirt to bed. He tries not to overthink it, it's gotten cold out and Neil's hand had been cold.

because i absolutely cannot be stopped i've made a temeraire oc

born to aviator parents, georgie probably would've been slated for an egg if she'd been a boy, but she and her sister were girls, and while there aren't many women in the corps, there also aren't many dragons who absolutely require a female captain

but she loves being an aviator and loves dragons, and is on good track to be a lieutenant in some years

of course the dragon plague upends things, and there is a lot of reshuffling and many many aviators are grounded

she sneaks in to watch the egg hatching of an uncertain breed. and the dragon rejects all the potential captains offered to her and instead seeks out the teen girl hidden away, refusing everyone else

the dragonet hatched quite small, and despite a rapid growth period and everyone's best efforts, she ended up even smaller than the average winchester

and thus the two learned to be couriers

which is probably good. since her dragon mostly views other people on a range from disinterest to dislike. she would not have taken well to a crew

and this personality is juxtaposed with georgie's attempts to be confident and easy going due to her new duties, which are more public than she was trained up for

“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5

Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.

So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.

GOD IS UNCHANGING:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17

GOD IS FAITHFUL:

“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13

“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5

GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:

“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9

GOD IS SOVEREIGN:

“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28

Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

"CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- This orbiter tribute of space shuttle Columbia, or OV-102, hangs in Firing Room 4 of the Launch Control Center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The tribute features Columbia, the “first of the fleet," rising above Earth at the dawn of the Space Shuttle Program. Columbia's accomplishments include the launch and deployment of NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory on STS-93, the first shuttle landing at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico on STS-3, the first deployment of commercial satellites and the first four-member crew during STS-5, the first Spacelab mission and first six-member crew on STS-9, the first female commander, Eileen Collins, on STS-93, as well as several laboratory missions with international partners. Crew-designed patches for each of Columbia’s missions lead from Earth toward a remembrance of the STS-107 crew, which was lost during re-entry on Feb. 1, 2003. Five orbiter tributes are on display in the firing room, representing Atlantis, Challenger, Columbia, Endeavour and Discovery."
