uh oh! I’ve reached cyberpunk 2077 fatigue and it’s all because of a weirdly paced act 3 yet again

#i kind of had to push through bg3’s act 3 also but it came a lot later #and also i cared so much about the characters that i pushed through #with cp2077 i care most about the plot so i def want to avoid spoilers so it doesn’t kill my motivation to finish the game #bg3 was kind of the exception when it comes to big games #normally i never finish like anything longer than 60 hours after continuous play I always take breaks #it took me all year to play lad: isshin for example #i thjnk I generally prefer shorter games that you can beat in 20 hours because that generally takes a week of focused play #and then it can haunt me forever #lucky avoiding cp2077 spoilers is easy ive literally never seen any in the wild

Chapter 1: The beginning of music to my ears.

Dear Mary Anne,

Truthfully can't tell you my first song ever, but I can tell you that music has influenced me all throughout my life, to the rock n roll melodies of The Beatles, to even 2-Pac, Bone-Thugs & funky songs I never quite understood yet as a child. If it had rhythm, beat & soul I was singing it from the top of my lungs. I'm serious & also, as a child, I would persuade our family's guests & inquire that I sang them a song for the fee of just $1.00 and they would happily oblige & curiously give me the dollar, I would then sing them 3-4 short songs I'd come up with from the top of my head or saved in my mind. Such titles were "Virtual The Vulture" or "Life is life" & a small piece of Frank Sinatra's "Start spreading the news", In truth, I must have made about $5-6 dollars per visit, it was really just the confidence I had, I mean I knew what I had to offer was good in a way that I wasn't afraid of expressing my love for music , even at a young age.

One of my biggest influence was my Uncle Jaime from Fresno, California who we'd spend a lot of time with & would constantly play nothing but Hip-Hop jams and rap music such as Master P or Tupac etc. while picking up the cousins in the silver expedition, cruising the streets and listening to jams & there is where my whole world would start to evolve or to say, be influence the most as He opened the door for us to the musical aspects of things such as producing, recording, writing and more but I was also still into classic rock n roll & The Beatles etc, (being a Beatlemaniac & a young lad skating in the burning streets of El Centro, Ca) music was always around me or part of my life as it formed my whole personality and mentality, whether for the good or for the bad. My whole family are 60's & 70's era music heads so you know we had a lot of influence growing up like funk, soul, rock etc. but Hip-Hop respectfully was what conspired me the most as I would forever be grateful to my Uncle for that, always remembering the roots of my musical aspirations.....

Today’s compilation:

25 Oldies Best Vol. 7 1995 Pop-Rock / Hard Rock / Pop / Soft Rock / Beat

Back in 1995, there was this Swiss label called Block Buster (not to be confused with the video rental chain that we all hold near and dear to our hearts) that put out a 16-volume series called 25 Oldies Best, and I can't say that I really grasp what the grand, unifying theme to that whole venture was, because, judging by its seventh installment, it really just feels like a tranche of random tunes from the 50s through mid-80s. Like, a couple of them were really big hits, like KC and the Sunshine Band's "Please Don't Go," which hit #1 in the States in 1979 and then was subsequently transformed into a pair of sweet, very similar Eurodance jams in the early 90s by Double You and KWS. But then there's three Bee Gees songs on here from the early 60s (did you even know that the Bee Gees were around back then?!) that sound very blasé and don't feature any of their famed falsettos (Weak!). Evidently, they were just a fledglingly generic pop and pop-rock band back then. And then there's Eric Clapton's first solo single, "A Certain Girl," on here too, and it also doesn't sound like anything too special and it also sounds like parts of it were re-recorded. I mean, why exactly does this album even exist?!

BUT, sometimes this seeming randomness has a way of turning up some gold; I have no idea what the song's provenance is, but there's a mostly instrumental recording by Jimi Hendrix on this album called "Good Times" that features him jamming out in a studio and it's easily one of the best tunes on here. It seems like a cut that's kinda rare!

Ultimately though, I really don't know what the selling point of this was. It's lined with recognizable names, but most of these songs aren't recognizable themselves, and that mostly appears to be for good reason. Why someone would decide to package all this mediocrity together is totally beyond me.

A lot of legendary acts crammed into this disc, and like you've probably never heard before!
