The large moth grinning with human teeth stays as well.

Above you is a fast ocean, waves roiling as the light of the moon ebbs through them and casts reflections over the strange forest.

Something I sorta wanna question

What do y'all feel bout the lack of representation of people of color on the wiki? I mean the only poc characters are Jojo and possibly skin-taker because in my obscure lore series he has done things that were similar to African traditions and looked similar to Baron Samedi (a Spirit in Haitian culture) before the admins removed it. As a person of color it kinda baffles me but I'd like to see everybody's take on this.

technically a rehaul design, bc i was unhappy w my old one for like 2 years and so uhh. yeah :) also heres my inspo collage because i think its neat to share my brain workings

the skirt cover is made to easily be removed in case better movement under water is necessary. smthn that always bothered me w og abyssian designs (other than their lack of tails :'0) was their attire not being hydrodynamic. so i fused the flowy pretty aesthetics with utility :)

So, you want to learn about Abyssians!

Abyssians are a sapient, semi-aquatic species who are known for their adaptibility for differing climes.

Out of all of my species, they probably the least amount of sense scientifically, as their main trait is that their bodies can warp and change to its environment over the course of their lives (making it a suitable species to spread to other planets). Despite this fantastical premise, they are the species I have most developed, so they will be taking a front seat on this blog. They hold sentimental value to me too. :-)

Abyssians were the first alien species I designed, so they seem pretty "earthly" compared to Shaggoths or Neoroosters. Abyssians are also the only one of my species I have any characters of (outside of collaborative project-y stuff. More on those some other time.) His name is "H" and I love him a lot. He may be on this blog too someday, who knows!

They are the sole sapient species on their planet, 'Abyssia'. Abyssia is a primarily aquatic planet, with over 75% of its surface consisting of deep, abyssal oceans. They have no spoken language, rather they mainly communicate using two different methods - binary electrical signals exchanged through their lengthy barbels, and tone/emotional signals conveyed through their bioluminescent patterns (shown as black patterns in the header models).

Damn, remember that kid in Abyss who asks if Byleth killed people? And if you say yes, he says bad people right? ... "We're gonna fight. We're gonna avenge the Captain!" "Getz, No! This can't be happening!" "It's just one merc! Why am I so scared!?" "Did my life... ever have meaning?" He is shocked when you say no, and for good reason. Now I know why Byleth canonically hates their title, as the Ashen Demon kills any who oppose them in their job. Good people like them, in a life or death fight...

(Last quote is when Shez bites it in Classic mode. Considering the implications back in the original houses, perhaps that is all too common in Byleth's line of work. No wonder they love being a teacher, as they nurture futures in students, rather then ending them in rival mercenaries)

the “Ashen Demon” moniker sounded pretty badass when i was first getting into Three Houses, but after reading that Byleth themself doesn’t like it? goodness, now it hurts seeing them get called that. going from being called “Demon” to getting called “Professor” must’ve been like a huge weight off their shoulders, it’s no wonder they stayed with the class they taught. they’re probably the first people (either in a long while, or first, period) to acknowledge in any way that they’re human, too.

Selina becoming Batwoman: Good AU. I like it. Cool.

But there's already a Batwoman.

So when Selina and Bruce marry: Bruce becomes Catman.

The entire Batfamily rebrands.

Dick becomes Calico. The multicolored patterns remind him of the original bright Robin colors.

Kate becomes the Lioness. Bette joins her as Lionette (a play on the word Lionet, a word for a baby lion)

Cass becomes the Black Panther. No ones sure how but she gets even more stealthy.

Tim becomes the Abyssian. (Reference to the Brown Color, like the Drake suit, and how they're supposedly the smartest breed of domestic cat)

Jason becomes the Blue Tiger. It's a cryptid, and no one's sure it ever existed, much like how no one's sure how Jason came back to life. There's some mythology to it, which I think ties in to Jason having some magic.

Damian becomes Leopard. The perfect predator, an opportunistic hunter that strikes from the shadows. (Plus they look like kitties...)

Babs becomes the Catseye. She sees everything, in an almost supernatural way, to outsiders.

Duke becomes Snow Leopard. 1. It's a Leopard, signifying his love for Robin in the first place. And the bright white is similar to his bright yellow, both a juxtaposition to the Batfam (Catfam)'s darkness. It also stands out in another way. Snow Leopards live in the icy tundra, much different than the greenery and savannas of other big cats. Similar to Duke's powers being a stark contrast.

Steph becomes the Pink Panther, but still wears Purple. She pretends she thinks its pink. Just to be silly, and annoy goons.
