The Silent Queen 6; A Royal Morning

Raven woke up the same she always did - quietly. No one ever really noticed her until she was outside her room and hallway back in the castle but at school, people smiled and waved at her the second she left her dorm with Maddie. She guessed that the news of her arrival had spread and a lot of people wanted to know the daughter of the Evil Queen. Raven grimaced at the thought, she would have preferred not to be known at all. To just be a minor character in a smaller story. With a happy ending. But that wasn’t who she was, she was Raven Queen and this was her life.

Walking down the corridors to the castleteria was mostly uneventful aside from all the other students who continued looking at her and pointing things out. It was times like these that she wished she could hear. But then again she wasn’t sure how well she’d adjust to suddenly being able to hear. The castleteria itself is big and crowded with white lighting that made everything look brighter than what Raven was used to, many eyes looked over to her and Raven felt herself subconsciously tug at a lavender streak in her hair. This was going to be a long school year.

Cerise stood up and waved over at the pair of newcomers from her table where she sat with Cedar, Hunter, and a few girls who Raven vaguely remembered from yesterday who had been with that blonde- Apple, Apple White. The next Snow White, the one Raven would eventually have to poison. Raven stopped moving for a second at the thought of her destiny. Eyes wide she almost started to shake until Maddie lightly poked her shoulder, pointing to the castleteria’s food table. Raven straightened and followed her roommate and best friend to grab breakfast.

At home, she usually just walks into the kitchen. Chef made pancakes most mornings with berries from the nearby forest and honey on top. Raven always loved those pancakes, even if she had them almost every day. Raven quickly put a few slices of bacon on her plate smiling at the staff before grabbing some fruit salad and a couple of waffles and left to follow Maddie over to Cedar’s table. Most people moved out of the way to let the two girls pass through in order to get to their table. If Raven was being honest she had expected more students to run away from her when she arrived, and yet they all seemed to be completely enamoured by her. Weird. Maybe it was because she hadn’t shown up for regular school until this year, or because no one knew what she looked like (she avoided mirror phones and rarely left the castle grounds), or maybe none of them knew much about deaf people. Or maybe all three. By the time she and Maddie sat down, Raven was already exhausted, and she hadn’t even gone to class yet!!

‘Morning Rae, how was your first night at EAH?’ Cerise signed over to her childhood friend. Raven smiled at the nickname, Cerise had given it to her when they were about six, very soon afterwards Raven and Cerise began talking more over chats with their mirror phones as Cerise started elementary school while Raven began to be castleschooled. The two would work on video chats every now and again to keep sign language in Cerise’s vocabulary, (usually with a little help from Ramona too, but it’s not like they could talk about that it was a secret!) so the two stayed connected no matter where they were.

‘It’s been good Cher,’ another nickname that had come from their younger years ‘you know after the whole Headmaster situation me and Maddie set up our dorm. It was definitely different from the castle or your place’ Raven concluded before picking up her fork. She really was hungry after skipping dinner last night. As the others smiled at her she felt a warm fuzzy feeling wash over her, these were her friends, some through childhood, some through the others and they all loved her. She was loved, at least she was now but once she became, that she wouldn’t be. Her smile began to dim just a tad as she bit into her waffle. She shook it off before looking at the three girls she didn’t know the names of. ‘Oh sorry I almost forgot, I’m Raven, and you guys are?’ she asked the brunette in pink, the platinum blonde in white and the ginger with green eyes. Each one smiled at her as brightly as her friends, if not a bit brighter, they were probably princesses, Raven thought to herself before each one signed their names.

‘Briar Beauty’ The girl in all pink signed with slightly tired eyes. Raven immediately made the connection to the Sleeping Beauty Story, it took a lot for her not to frown, that was always such a sad tale, sleeping for a hundred years would mean losing the people she loved. Even still Raven could see that something else was turning in her mind, maybe she’d get to see what that was.

The ginger signed after ‘Ashlynn Ella it’s nice to meet you!’ she had the brightest smile that Raven had seen from the trio. Cinderella’s daughter her mind added in, another story with a happy ending but a tragic beginning, she couldn’t imagine losing both of her parents. Then again it was better than being imprisoned in a mirror, or being forced to dance in hot iron shoes until death, or being crushed by a boulder after falling off of a cliff. Raven’s thoughts were broken as she saw that Ashlynn was sitting very close to Hunter, who seemed to be completely focused on her, the dork had a crush, which seemed to be mutual. If Raven could speak well she would have laughed.

‘I’m Darling Charming but you can call me Darl for short’ The Platinum Blonde signed last as she gave a simple polite smile. Like the one that Raven had been taught to use for visitors and knights when she was younger. A female born Charming? She had heard of it before but it wasn’t common, most of them became small-time princesses with small kingdoms, or took over for the Charming Kingdom when the time came. It would be interesting Raven thought to see where her destiny leads her, after all, Darling definitely had the most open book story out of all of them.

‘It’s nice to meet all of you’ Raven signed before continuing ‘So.. has anyone gotten a schedule, I still haven’t’ It hadn’t been a big surprise to her though, she supposed no one had accounted for her deafness and they might have had to remake her schedule. After she mentioned it though she saw Cedar hit her head with her hand. “Ugh, I almost forgot,” she muttered to the group before pulling out a piece of paper. ‘Here Raven, I passed the headmaster and he asked me to give this to you, don’t worry he only had to reschedule two subjects!’ she finished passing the note over. Raven sent a grateful smile to her friend thank goodness for Cedar on the top of the paper a note was written with a schedule underneath. It read:

Dear Ms. Queen; first of all, I’d like to apologize for not being aware of this sooner, in the short time we’ve been given I was able to find some students to help you translate in each class. However, just in case most classes have an extra student who understands sign language. Below is your schedule, I hope you enjoy your time here at Ever After High.

Raven smiled at the schedule she only didn’t know two of the names on here. She was nervous to start her time at EAH but as long as she had good grades and a clear head she was sure she would do fine.

A/n: Big brain idea you have there my friend. At first I was like hmmm this is interesting but I don't know what to do with this prompt/idea. But then at 4am this idea just clicked in my head and I was like instead of actually telling the reader that they're in trouble he would actually go an indirect route. It was yet another day at the beach. Yet another day of sitting by the bar, to the side of the pool watching drama unfold. 

The militants were up to no good once again. This day they found a pair of unfortunate newcomers. Those newcomers were unfortunate enough to come in sight of Niragi. As always his lackeys were right behind him. They were trying to drag the girl away but the guy was one of the stupidly heroic types I suppose. Tried to stop ‘The’ Niragi from getting what he wanted. I guess he might have stood a chance if he was someone of Aguni’s stature but in reality he was just a shrimp. 

But alas the great Hatter had to come save the day and yet again someone else was aligned with our ‘leader’ and dared to go against the militants. That scrawny kid sure is something.

Ah, I forgot to mention-  

‘Tora. You’ve been standing behind me for the past ten minutes. Have you got something to say?’ 

Unfortunately for me, I was also acquainted with one of the militants that meant that I was automatically sided with the militants. Hmm it was quite unfair. Now I couldn't hang out around Chishiya and keep an eye on the scheming bastard without gathering suspicion. 

‘I… got a drink for you’ 

‘Oh is Tora finally being considerate, how nice of you. Oh! And it's my favorite flavor as well. Thank you.’ 

…

‘Well I guess you deserve a kiss.’ 

You might ask. How the fuck did I manage to get into a relationship with Tora. And well all you've gotta do is be a katana user and teach him some new skills. Whether you like him or not is your own problem.  

I kiss him on the cheek while he sits next to me with a huff. I see a sliver or uncertainty and worry cross through his eyes and I'm taken aback. Is something going on…? 

That flicker is gone as fast as it came but I'm still wary.  

I unconsciously take a few sips of the drink until I start to get a little dizzy. It feels like the heats getting to me… 

Hah hah 

‘I feel very hot Tora, what's.. Going on?’

My eyes start to close and the world seems to fade away into a blur of nothingness. The last thing i hear is faint 

‘’rry’ 

My ears ring when I wake up. My vision is still blurry but I manage to get up. I've been laying down in bed for about 30 minutes an hour? I can't really tell. My mouth feels parched. I curse Tora for his choice of drug. He could've at least used one that makes you feel funky not feel like shit. I'll really have to talk to him about manners and etiquette of not giving people drugs. 

I’m pretty sure he didn’t drug me for no reason. 

Oh and there he is.

‘Tora. Mind explaining?’ 

‘Here.. have water first-’

‘And how do I know this isn't drugged?’

‘He stays quiet for a minute and then goes, ‘i could drink some water from the same glass-’

‘No no it's fine I don't like to drink out of glasses others have drank out of before.’  

He stays quiet for a long time. I don't push him, he looks quite conflicted. He'll speak up sooner or later.

‘Hatter is dead. The beach is no more. We are in phase two of the borderlands now.’ 

My eyes widen. How long had I been out for-

‘Ten of hearts happened here. We killed the beach and burned bodies. I… had a clue that something was going to happen so I-’

‘So you thought of sparing me the emotional trauma. Ha.. ha thanks… I can't imagine how burning bodies would have impacted me.’

‘Well I suppose I can't be angry at you for doing this.’

You watched the group chat as the RFA was discussing whether to accept your friend as an RFA member. Everyone loved her; the woman who once was your best friend. The person who knew you the best. But she was also the person who hurt you the most. The lies she said, the actions with bad intentions… Everything came to you as more and more flashbacks. Ever since that happened back in University, you tried your best to cut contact. However, your love for her was bigger, and instead of cutting off the toxic friendship, she managed to make you become the loneliest person on the campus, destroying your faith and innocent heart for other people. You swore to yourself that you would never ever trust other people. Not until you met the RFA and your partner. They made you feel strong, positive about relationships, and managed to show you support whenever you needed it. But right now, that bad time was coming back. As if nothing changed, history repeated and people began to love her more than you. At least it seemed like that in your head. You decided to approach the person you thought would always support you. At least, you thought so.

,,Jumin,“ you spoke up.

Your husband looked up from his phone as a smile decorated his face.

,,You never told me that you had such good friends,“ he spoke up first.

,,Well, actually, she isn’t a good friend to me. You know, maybe you guys shouldn’t hang out with her so much… she did some kind of hurtful things to me and-” you stopped as you saw Jumin’s face.

Why was he looking at you with that face?

As if you did something wrong, as if you were the bad person, just why?

,,You were the one who taught me to trust people!“ Jumin defended the woman who hurt you so deeply.

You tried to explain to him what happened.

,,She lied to me and to my friend! Because of her, I thought that my friend deceived me and vice versa!“ you told him.

How could he not trust you?

,,Maybe that was because you didn’t try to clear the misunderstanding,“ he told you, making you feel as if someone stabbed you in your back.

You rushed outside. You didn’t care about Jumin behind you, calling your name, and asking you to stop.

A fearful cry from him caused you to make a fatal mistake, looking back at him and not noticing the racing car which was approaching you.

The hit hurt so much. Your body crushed against the car and back on the hard floor, making you lose consciousness…

,,Mc! You‘re awake?!“ someone called your name.

You couldn’t really see the one who stood in front of you, but you knew perfectly well that this voice belonged to Jumin.

Even though you were still unable to move your limbs, you could feel Jumin kissing your hand.

,,I am sorry, that I… we didn’t trust you…“ he spoke up, making you notice that the RFA was there too.

,,Your friend won’t enter the RFA. Instead, we tried our best to make her go away forever,“‘ Seven laughed and began to explain how he found messages on her phone to get rid of you.

Zen

But you were kind of wrong.

Zen wasn‘t on your side at all. Instead,  he was on her‘s.

Once again, he was on the phone with her, laughing at something she told him.

At that point, you cursed the day you met her with Zen at the entertainment company.

With a fake smile, she hugged you and whined that you didn’t contact her anymore.

However, you knew that she hurt you a lot.

And Zen apparently came to like her a lot.

So much so that she was already visiting the whole RFA as if you were the newcomer.

,,You don’t understand how much she destroyed!“ you whined.

,,TRUE! I DON‘T! You're just jealous, Mc!“ he told you.

Lies, you thought.

Like always. Lies.

You took your back and rushed out, not looking back at Zen or evening caring about telling him something.  

And then, without anyone noticing, you got into an accident.

While the paramedics were trying to save you, Zen was busy tidying up the room since your friend would come over.

Of course, the guilty was eating him from the inside, but right now he couldn’t change it.

And before Zen could keep on tidying up, the long-haired found something he shouldn’t read.

You diary.

The diary which page for page was about her, the one who caused your first panic attack, who made you think for two years that she was seriously sick, the one who played you against your friends.

And at that point he knew he screwed up.

Afterward, everything went over quickly.

Zen got called by the police, who told him that as you walked, you got hit by a stone that fell from a balcony and you were currently hospitalized.

At the same time, the girl who he thought was your friend passed by.

Zen couldn’t do differently and bashed her, telling her to literally fuck off before he would hit a girl for the first time.

,,I'm sorry,“ he sobbed late at night, your eyes still closed.

,,If you won’t wake up, I will fall asleep with you… so you’re free to choose yourself, whatever it will be. This time I will stay loyal to you,“

Yoosung

,,You’re my husband… why can’t you be loyal to me…?“ you begged him.

He just watched you as you shed tears in front of him, unable to give you an answer.

,,Mc, I don’t understand your problem. We met your friend after such a long time and now you want us all to break contact? She’s so nice!“ Yoosung tried to explain, trying to touch you.

However, you flinched and stepped away.

,,Don’t touch me. If you don’t trust me, don’t touch me. I won’t forgive you for not trusting me… You’re unfair… Everyone is unfair… Why can’t you guys care about me? Why can’t you care about me the same way I care about you? Why is it always me who has to endure pain alone? Why?!“ you asked him and before he could stop you, you already ran off with the car key.

,,Mc is already missing for about three hours and isn’t answering her phone!“ Yoosung whined into the phone.

,,Don’t worry. And besides, it’s okay if she doesn’t come back.

Mc’s always been like this, as soon as something gets difficult she would go hiding. Don’t worry about her,“ your old friend said.

Yoosung gasped at the words your friend told him.

This wasn’t the way a friend should behave.

Without saying anything, Yoosung cut the call and instead called Seven, who immediately searched you.

,,Oh, oh… Oh my god,“ he gasped.

,,What?? Why? Seven??“ Yoosung cried.

,,Calm down, little man! I am going to pick you up, okay? Don’t freak out…“ Seven said and already cut the call to pick him up.

When the two of them arrived at the hospital, the other RFA members were already waiting in the parking lot.

Finally Seven spilled the tea, saying that he saw in the CCTV and that you were in an accident.

,,Two days already passed, Mc...the bad girl wasn’t accepted into the RFA so when you wake up, don’t worry. No one will replace you… and whatever she did back then, she won’t succeed another time… because we will stay by your side,“ Yoosung whispered before he fell asleep next to you.

,,Thank you…“

Jaehee

Tears kept flowing.

The thick drops were even louder than your breathing as you replayed what just happened.

You approached Jaehee to beg her to stay away from your toxic friend.

And then the argument.

You and her, who normally would work together, fought this time.

You even forgot what triggered you.

You just remembered how you got outside; alone in the dark.

The street lamp was the only thing illuminating the next five steps in front of you.

Suddenly, you shrieked as a dark figure approached you.

Fear was written all over your face and you were sure that the person in front of you could see that.

,,Who… are you?“ you whispered, trying your best to sound brave, but failing.

Instead, a sob left your mouth, making the stranger smirk.

The street echoed as you screamed as loudly as you could while the stranger stabbed you.

All he wanted was money.

,,MC!“ you heard Jaehee and saw then her face.

And then darkness surrounded you.

,,She was always so stupid. That‘s why no one liked her back then in school.

It’s just better if you turn off the machines,“ you heard the one you once called your friend say.

You tried your best to open your eyes or say something, anything so that they wouldn’t kill you.

Anything, but nothing worked.

,,Please go. I don’t think that the RFA needs another member,“ you heard Jaehee say.

,,Don’t worry,“ she whispered and stroked your head.

,,I just realized everything and I will protect you,“ she kissed you, making you fall asleep in comfort.

Saeyoung

,,I thought since you’re a hacker you could see all her wrongdoings! But apparently, you’re blind!“ you hissed at him as you tried to beg him not to let her into the RFA.

However, you were already too late and realized that this ,,friend“ of yours already had all the data about the RFA.

Jumin said that maybe if you would give half the load of work to her so you wouldn’t work that much.

It would make it lighter for you.

In other words, you weren’t doing good enough.

They didn’t trust you with the work you were doing.

It hurt you.

It was a deep stab.

But you could keep going if your fiancé supported you.

Instead, he even did what the other person wanted.

No one trusted you.

You couldn’t trust anyone anymore either.

,,Someone leaked information about the RFA!“ the chat was in a fuss.

You knew who it was since you stopped working ever since she came into the RFA.

,,Mc was it! I can log in and see her email! Here‘s a screenshot.

Mc, how could you?

Why did you make the same mistake as back then in school?“ she typed in the chat.

You had to read the line four times until you realized that she was blaming you.

,,I’m disappointed,“ Saeyoung wrote.

That’s when you went you logged out and closed the app.

So she finally attacked you again, huh?

You were already waiting for it.

,,Mc!“ Saeran asked you and barged into the room.

,,You don’t trust me either, huh?“ you asked him, getting up and packing your stuff.

,,No, wait!“ your fiancé‘s brother tried to call you, to grab you.

However, it ended with you slapping his hand away, losing balance, and crashing down the stairs.

,,Did you push her?“ Saeyoung asked his brother.

,,ME?! WHY? I like her! And perhaps I do more than you! It’s your fault! If you would have trusted her, she wouldn’t have felt like that! If you would have supported her better… her friend faked the email. She was the one who leaked out the information,“ Saeran hissed, got up and left the hospital room, leaving an unconscious you behind him.

The next week, Saeyoung worked on finding out whether his brother was right or not and quickly kicked out the woman everyone thought was your friend.

,,From now on, I will trust you and listen to you. So open your eyes that you can scold me, okay?“ Saeyoung whispered and smiled as he saw your finger twitching.

In Clouds and Moonlit skies verse, what happens with dissidia? (I hope i spelt that right)

Hmmmmm oh dear. I ... TRIED to make this cheerful and silly but it turned out pure angst and Tifa ran away with it. Sorry?

-Cloud still gets called, but of course now he’s Prompto Argentum. Sephiroth is also called, but naturally he’s Titus now. Noctis/Zack doesn’t remember doing this ever anyway so he’s mostly chill with this. New adventure! With Cloudy! Yay! Oh wait where’s his pretty girlfriend noooooo.

-Nobody recognizes either Titus or Prompto and treat them like newbies. Titus rolls with it because frankly he doesn’t like these people anyway and doesn’t care what they think. Prompto is ... very subdued. More than usual. People are very confused as to why they are all here but Cloud is a no-show.

-It physically hurts Prompto to breathe a little when Zidane bounds up to innocently ask if he’s scene a short brooding blond with a giant sword and a wolf ornament on his shirt. It hurts. It HURTS far more than he ever thought it would, to see these people he fought beside look at him like he’s a stranger. It shouldn’t. They aren’t from the same worlds, and it’s only to be expected, he isn’t Cloud anymore after all, but Prompto. But it still hurts. If he calls out to any of them they won’t know him. It smacks too much of his nightmares and Noctis ends up holding him tight as they hide in the back row, fielding any questions with a cheerful smile that wins smiles in return.

-It guts him to spot Tifa in the crowd. Because Materia calls champions without any real care for timeline, and so while she cannot call Cloud’s past self because his soul is no longer in the Lifestream, she CAN call Tifa as well apparently and it HURTS more than words can say.

-Prompto and Noctis stick together stubbornly, so they end up not following the Warrior of Light around. They end up going with someone else- *spins imaginary wheel* TIFA, because apparently she got added to the game later and I feel like torturing my characters.

-Tifa is a little worried on why Cloud is not present when he apparently was last time, but these two boys are ... nice, and someone more experienced has to keep an eye on them. Noctis reminds her of a puppy, bounding around, eager to explore and help Materia. Prompto reminds her a LOT of Cloud, and when she tries to make friends by commenting that he reminds her of a good friend, she’s surprised when his breath stutters and his face shuts down. He chokes out a shy grunt and then hurries to catch up with Zack, leaving Tifa confused.

-Prompto has never been more relieved to run into enemies. If he’s fighting then he doesn’t have to try and fail to talk to his friend who doesn’t recognize him (is younger than he remembers, because he remembers her as a mother, a grandmother, as a old feisty woman with silver hair and a fire that didn’t dim despite her arthritis, the old woman who comforted him about his own conspicuously slow aging when he realized that for every year he seemed to age, his friends had already aged ten or more, another horrible unwanted side effect of Hojo’s experiments). Of course, he doesn’t count on his fighting style, or Tifa’s own observational skills. He has enough presence of mind to not use his fusion sword, instead pulling a regular great sword from armiger, but ... still.

-Tifa (who is post Advent Children btw) watches Prompto as he fights and is ... unnerved by how similar their styles are, the power in a deceptively tiny frame, the unnaturally fast strikes, the bullheaded doggedness. Then she notices his blue eyes that glitter like stars in the dimmer lights, his black clothing for all he’s wearing that plaid ... skirt thing, the ribbon tied around his arm.

-She keeps her thoughts to herself for most of the adventure, just gently tries to coax Prompto out of his shell with minimal success and wondering where Sephiroth is and why this newcomer Titus seems so protective of the boys despite being on the other side. In the end she lets Prompto wander away with Noctis to chat with the other newcomers like Y’shtola, because he doesn’t seem nearly as shy around the other newbies as the ones who are obviously more experienced and she doesn’t want to make him uncomfortable. Not that he doesn’t interact with the older members, but there’s a distance to him with them, like he’s shy, or like he expects them to say something and dreads it when it never comes.

-Then the fight with the planesgorger happens and in the heat of it, Prompto has no choice but to use his skills to their fullest, and Tifa catches sight of him in the chaos, twisting over Exdeath’s head with the Fusion Sword in his hands, splitting it into all sorts of blades and something in her brain goes “click”.

-After the fight, when everyone is saying their goodbyes and gear up to have crystal double made, Tifa sneaks up behind Prompto and starts a casual conversation again, then when his guard is as low as she thinks it’s going to go, she adds, “I guess it’s pretty weird to see me so young, huh?”

-Prompto laughs ruefully, “Just a little-.” freezes, looks at her with something horrified and fragile in his gaze.

-Tifa smiles and says, “It’s okay, I figured it out while we were fighting the planesgorger. Is that your dad’s sword or did he help you make one of your own?”

-Prompto’s shoulders sag and there is something ... both relieved and sad in his eyes as he murmurs, “It’s ... new. I designed it.”

-Tifa gently ruffles his hair, pretending not to notice his flinch as she smiles, “Well, you did your dad proud out there today.”

-Something warms in blue eyes, shy and still sad, but brighter now, “Yeah ... yeah I did. You did- You were awesome too, you know? You’re amazing.”

-Tifa strikes a pose with a laugh, and their conversation tapers off comfortably. Tifa doesn’t ask who his mother is, because she’s already pretty sure it’s not her and either way, she doesn’t want to disrupt the future somehow by knowing too much.

-Right before they all leave, Prompto hugs her from behind and whispers, “Thank you. For always being there for ... you know. He needs all the help he can get.”

-And then he’s hurrying away, back to Noctis and Titus, who both look at him sadly, like they know something heartbreaking she doesn’t.

-When they get back home, Prompto ignores all the worried fussing of the adults who want to know where they’ve been the last week and locks himself in his room.

-Later, Titus will pick the lock and come in to check on him with Noctis on his heels, both worried, because while they knew OF Tifa they hadn’t been best friends with her and they know it had to hurt. Prompto curls into Titus’s gentle bear hug and laughs a little hysterically into the silence. Noctis pets his hair and makes a questioning noise, and Prompto rasps, “Up until the day she died, she always told me I would be a good dad. That I would find someone to have a kid with.”

-Another hysterical giggle and a choked, “She made me promise that when I had a son, I’d name him Prompto.”

(*ahem* so yeah. VERY ANGSTY AND SAD. I just hurt my own Feels. Sorry, I know you were probably hoping for something more in the vein of my Nox Dissidia HCs.)

howdy folks! this is overdue and not very well organized because i was woefully unprepared for opening so please bear with me! you can call me nat (she/her). this isn’t my first time at yangwon but this is a new muse - call him taewoong or woong if you’re close to him. he’s twenty five, a riding instructor at sweetgrass stables, and the p1 canon! i have a profile and a bio page up for him if you want to know more, but no plots as of yet (i’m working on it!). i’ll drop some quick info under the cut, but please like this post if you want to plot and i will hop on over into your ims (‘∀’●)

ABOUT:

like i mentioned, part of the park family - they own and operate sweetgrass stables so it should be fairly obvious that horses are a big part of his life

grew up in yangwon, caused havoc with his friends (jk, but he wasn’t the best behaved kid growing up. boys will be rowdy and all that). generally got away with a lot of shit because (1) he’s a park and (2) by sixteen he was a kind of a local celebrity

o yeah that’s right, has been riding since he was a kid, trained to be a horse jockey, participated in his first race at fifteen and never looked back. wracked up a bunch of wins and public recognition for the town which is why a lot of the locals had soft spots for him regardless of whether he deserved it or not

attended baeksu after graduating from high school but took longer than the standard year to finish his race horse groom training certificate mostly because he’d frequently miss class for training and races! also his grades sucked

people think he went ~*bad*~ in the city because he met a girl there and got her pregnant. then (and this is the BIG SCANDAL) he and the girl decided not to get married because they didn’t like each other that much. also he was super young and didn’t want to be tied down at the time

his parents were super pissed and like, generally tried not to let the whole fiasco reach town but it did. so... his daughter is an open secret around town though stories surrounding this whole situation vary

(also basically people are like how did a good boy go so wrong... he was one of yangwon’s eligible bachelors... why this)

anyways, juggled his career and infrequent visits to see his daughter as best he could but was still kind of flighty and irresponsible and drunk on his own importance? spent little time in yangwon because he was always travelling

reality check came in the form of his beloved equine companion passing away x actually the full story is really traumatic and he refuses to talk about it but if you google his final race you will see... retired from the sport after that and moved to yangwon full time to help out at the stables

decided he wanted to like, grow up and be more responsible and what not so he agreed to take care of his daughter while her mother went back to finish her degree at a university in seoul

his daughter is super cute btw her name is boram, she’s five, and she started kindergarten this year. she’s a little bit on the quiet side because she still isn’t used to yangwon and her new family but she’s really sweet and once she’s comfortable around you she can get really sassy. she loves horses like her dad... 

tl;dr weird horse boy became good at racing and thought he was the shit, got a girl knocked up but didn’t wise up, now he wants to be a good responsible dad

neighbourhood grandmas and aunties are into that, and now they’re like hmmm maybe we need to... play matchmaker! let’s find him a wife (meanwhile he’s screaming inside)

PERSONALITY:

he’s generally like, a pretty nice and laid back person, doesn’t get riled up or bothered easily unless boram is involved somehow. he can be really protective over her but he’s chill otherwise. he’s open-minded, not adverse to newcomers. in fact, he’s happy to show people around yangwon and takes pride in the town. also genuine, sincere, sucks at lying like he gives himself away immediately

trying his best to be more responsible but still has this streak of like, childishness in him that rears its ugly head sometimes. also stubborn and hates asking for help so sometimes he creates more headaches for himself that necessary but he’s very much a ‘it’s my mess, i will fix it’ kind of person

fun loving, excitable, impressionable - a little less so thanks to boram’s influence (he’s struggling to be a good role model) but sometimes he just stares mournfully at his old friends when they’re hitting up the bar like take me with you...

LOVES the outdoors, loves staying active, hates being stuck inside doing nothing because it kills his vibes... trying to instill the same kind of drive in boram and she humors him most of the times but sometimes a girl just wants to stay in and play with her dolls, you know? 

avoids conflict like the plague, will literally ghost you irl rather than get into an argument. also kind of bad at talking about his feelings as a result like emotional communication is not his strong suit. also despite the fact that he is competitive as shit, he can be pretty passive when it comes to like, fighting with someone... will accept blame, try not to fight it, yeah he sucks x

he’s trying to be a good boy brent and some days he almost succeeds... jk despite his scandal(s) a lot of people around the neighbourhood actually love him because he’s low key charming and winsome and they can see he’s turning his life around. but how long will this last... (dun dun dun)

13. I’m sitting at the other end of the table in this library and I don’t think you’re realising it but your heat/rut is starting and I can smell it from here.

-

Luke wasn’t a study kind of guy. 

He cruised through college, fluking decent marks in tests and assignments and bribing his roommate to write essays for him on topics he didn’t take interest to. He had a lot of other things going on and prioritised his social life and football working over English and Maths. 

Except it was exam week and he was going to be in a lot of shit with his parents if he failed a single exam. So he gathered his courage and, for the first time ever, stepped into the campus library with the intent to educate himself. 

He took ten minutes organising himself, getting his pens out and placing them in colour order, tagging all the important pages of his three science textbooks and exercising his fingers and hand to avoid future hand cramps. He then spent five minutes staring at his blank page, another five minutes slowly, carefully writing out a nice looking header before he decided it wasn’t good enough and ripped the page out. 

It wasn’t until at least thirty minutes after he sat down that he smacked his face several times and forced his attention onto his Physics book, flipping open to the first section of work they’d learnt at the beginning of the year. A quick scan of the page left his heart in his throat as he failed to recognise a single formula. There were too many long words and too many combinations of numbers and letters that he had to memorise. 

He’d chosen a nice space at the back of the library where the chairs were more comfy and the books were a lot lamer; no one bothered with them and therefore, no one walked past him and disturbed him. He wasn’t really surprised that someone eventually joined him, taking a seat at the opposite end of the table and setting up his study gear. 

Luke watched tentatively, following the comfortable way that the guy placed his books down. Within one minute from sitting down, he was alternating between scribbling down notes and reading from the textbook; completely oblivious to Luke’s shock and mild envy. 

When, after an awkwardly long amount of time, the guy glanced up and met Luke’s eyes, the alpha snapped his head down and pretended he hadn’t been staring at the guy. He knew he’d been caught and very determinedly kept his eyes on his page despite being unable to understand a single word. 

The other student looked down and Luke let his shoulders relax. His face was pink and he was busy trying to shake himself out of his embarrassment. There wasn’t many things that could make the alpha blush but he was humiliated at being caught staring. 

Alright, Luke. Study. He told himself, rolling his shoulders in an effort to regather himself. The other student was studying well, he could do the same! Within five minutes or writing down notes on different equations and theorums, Luke found himself routinely glancing up at the boy at the other end of the table. 

His hair was messy in a way that made the alpha question how long ago he’d woken up, and he couldn’t help but find the look cute on the boy. His face remained in a little pout as he worked, lips twisted and brows furrowed as he focused on the school work before him. His concentration seemed unbreakable and several times, Luke had to pinch himself to force his attention back to his half-written notes. 

Eventually, he got the hang of it. He’d powered through several pages of notes and found pride blooming in his chest at his progress. He, too, was focused. No one interrupted them. No one walked by. Neither of them distracted each other. 

Well… for the most part, they didn’t. 

It had been just over an hour that the two had shared a table and studied privately when the scent slipped into Luke’s awareness and brushed at his senses. It took a few minutes until he realised that the other student was the source of the scent. It was a tangy scent; tasting briefly like coffee but holding the undertones of something sweet and foreign to the alpha’s nose. 

Yet when he looked to the other student, there was no different. He didn’t move, he didn’t look any different; he continued studying like there was no difference. The last thing Luke wanted was to offend the guy, so he shrugged it off and tried to focus only on his work. 

Which was hard enough when omega pheromones weren’t clouding his mind. 

Heat. That’s what he could smell. Preheat to be specific; he could taste the fire that acted almost alike a warning, floating among the coffee that stained the insides of his nose and mouth. And it only seemed to get stronger by the second. 

There was no chance he’d be studying with that scent. He hung his head and clenched his fists. Self control was something he was good at and it wasn’t like he was about to pounce on the poor guy, but it didn’t mean the scent of the omega’s preheat wasn’t messing with his head. 

He glanced up when he heard a soft curse uttered beneath the boy’s breath, watching where he sat bolt upright. “Fuck,” he murmured, digging around in his backpack. Luke picked up on his pink cheeks, a fresh wave of preheat flushing his senses as the omega became aware of his situation. “Oh, no, no, no.” Panic mingled with the scent of lust as the boy pulled out a container, flicking it open to find no pills inside. No suppressants. 

“Hey, are you-?” 

“Found ya!” Luke’s words didn’t even make it out before another voice covered them, far too loud and blunt for their little private corner. The other student turned and both boys landed their attention on the two boys who had rounded the corner. 

Luke’s spine curled immediately. An alpha and a beta. He could see the dilated pupils, the snarling grin, the look of hunger and the offending scent of possession. 

“I knew I could smell an omega in here somewhere,” was what the alpha purred as he prowled closer. The omega was out of his seat in seconds, putting the table in between himself and the two newcomers. 

“Leave me alone,” he demanded but Luke could hear the racing of his heart. It seemed he was invisible to all three of the other students as the omega stumbled around the back of his chair. When the alpha rounded the table to follow him, Luke stood, stepping in front of him and meeting those sharp blue eyes. 

The alpha immediately rose to his full height, pulling his shoulders back and puffing out his chest. Luke’s bared teeth showed no fear. “Don’t touch him,” he growled and the bark of laughter that followed had him snarling louder.

“Why not?” the alpha snapped, shoving to hands to Luke’s chest. He took a step back but caught himself. 

“Fuck off, he doesn’t want you near him,” he said, stepping forward and shoving back. “Leave him alone.” 

The alpha snarled but there was a clear difference between his scrawny height and Luke’s football build. “Asshole,” he snapped, gnashing his teeth. “Learn to share your toys.” And had he not turned and left then, Luke would’ve punched him out. 

He waiited until both boys slinked their way out of their area, and waited still until he could no longer taste their unkind scents, before turning to where the omega was pretty much pressed back against the bookshelf. His eyes were wide and full of fear, trained on Luke, and when Luke took a step forward, he cowered down. 

“Hey, hey, I’m not gonna hurt you,” he said, stumbling back and raising his hands. He waited until the boy lifted his head, shyly peaking back at him. “I’m not like that, I wouldn’t- I wanna help you get out of here. Let me drop you home?” he asked. He didn’t step forward. 

“I don’t- I haven’t had many good experiences with alphas,” was the reasoning that the boy returned, words falling to Luke’s feet in fear of the response they might evoke. 

Luke sighed, shaking his head. “I promise I won’t hurt you,” he said. “I’m Luke. My sister’s an omega,” he said and the omega lifted his head further in surprise. 

“I’m Ryan,” he murmured, and Luke felt relieved as he stopped trying to merge himself back into the bookcase behind him. “Are you sure it’s okay?” he asked, and Luke smiled gently. 

“Of course. I know how this school can be. C’mon, I promise I won’t hurt you but you’re gonna need to hide your scent under mine.” He lifted an arm but made no movement towards the omega. 

He let Ryan come to him, treading silently and slowly before he was stopping just out of reach of Luke. “Let me just… get my stuff.” 

“Yeah, yeah. Gather your things and I’ll walk you to my car.” 

As the two collected their belongings, Luke made sure to give the anxious omega a wide berth. It was bad enough smelling like a walking orgasm and Luke knew that preheats and heats were far from comfortable to experience. When Ryan was ready, he allowed the boy to tuck up against his side, wrapping a careful arm around him and resisting the urge to bury his nose in the mess of brown hair. 

“Thank you,” Ryan murmured and they didn’t receive anything other than a few interested stares as they walked through the campus to where Luke had parked his car. They drove with all the windows down and when Ryan jumped out of the car, he flicked a piece of paper at Luke with red cheeks, uttering, “Text me and I’ll call you when I’m off my heat.” 

Luke’s smile didn’t fade until he was back in his apartment, sitting at his desk and trying impossibly to continue his study. 

So what if he failed his exam. He was busy planning a date with a pretty omega.

“Hey, Gold,” Jefferson greeted as he answered the phone. His mood soured quickly. “What’d you mean can’t come over tonight? It’s Boy’s Night! You can’t just leave me with these guys; you’re the only one in town who has a decent taste in liquor!”

The guys in question turned to look at one another. 

“Wonder what’s up with him,” Leroy fished unabashedly. “He’s usually the first one here.”

“Well, I hope he’s alright, whatever he’s doing,” David remarked.

“Nah, he’s fine. Jeff’d be halfway to his place by now if he wasn’t.” Victor countered. 

“Hmm. Whatever. Pour me another one, sist-”

“What!?” they all jumped. “What do you mean you have a date? Since when have you been dating anyone? Do you even remember how to date? Why didn’t you tell me!? Wh-”

The other three leaned in, trying to decipher Gold’s staticky voice through Jefferson’s grumblings. Gold? Date? they mouthed to each other, unable to recall anything that hinted at that in the last few weeks.

“Yes, fine,” Jefferson said finally. “Fine. But you owe me a story, Gold.”

“So,” Jefferson said as he dropped onto the cot in the backroom of Gold’s shop the next day. “Tell me everything.”

“Her name is Belle,” Gold smiled shyly. “She’s from Australia and she is absolutely wonderful.”

“That’s great! How many times have I said that you needed to get back out there? How did you two meet anyway? Was it on your last business trip?”

“Over the internet, actually.”

“Him? Having a girlfriend? Yeah, right,” was the first thing the newly sworn Sheriff Swan heard when she walked into the morning rush in Granny’s Diner. 

She moved to the bar where most of the discussion seemed to be taking place. “What’s going on?”

“Gold,” Leroy said gleefully. I overheard Jefferson— y’know, that guy from up on the hill?— he was on the phone with Gold last night and guess what? The guy had a date!” 

“Really? Gold? A—” she trailed off as the man himself walked into the diner. 

They kept quiet as Gold waited for his drink, trying to sneak surreptitious glances when they thought he wasn’t looking and the din rose again as he walked out. 

“Maybe she’s one of those mail-order brides?”

“Maybe it’s a green card thing.”

“Wait, no one said his date was with a woman, did they?”

“Gold? Really? Well, I guess he does dress up really nicely. And the hair— it’s was too nice for a straight guy.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. Doesn’t he have a kid in UF? No way he’s gay.”

“I never said he was gay. I just said that I don’t think he’s straight.”

“You know what? I bet it’s one of those escort services. I’ve heard they make ‘em pretty high end.” 

“Oh, I know! His name’s Gold, right? It’s probably just some gold-digging college dropout or something. Happens all the time.”

“Pfft. Yeah, Gold can be our version of that Playboy guy.”

“Dad, you can’t just date some girl you’ve never even met.”

“How do you even know about that?”

“Jeff texted me.”

“Of course he did. Regardless, we’ve met, son. How do you think we got to talking?”

“I meant in person. Papa? Papa!”

“I have and I do appreciate your concern, Madame Mayor. Now if you’ll just get out of my way, please.”

Gold left him without a proper drinking buddy. Again. Jefferson barged to the pawnshop to give Gold a proper Talk, but it was his assistant standing behind the counter.

“Good afternoon. I’m afraid you’ve just missed Mr. Gold. He’ll be gone for a while, I’m afraid.”

Oh no. “Did he say where he was going? It wasn’t Australia or something, was it?”

“No, I believe he mentioned a conference in Florida, though.”

“Oh. Good. That’s good.” It was good. The sooner this whole internet girlfriend thing was put to rest, the better. “Thanks, Dove.”

“Of course. Have a nice day, sir.”

It was the middle of summer when Gold— tanned, jacket-and-tie-less, with the collar unbuttoned and sleeves rolled up— came back from his trip with a tall, scruffy man and a beautiful, petite brunette.

“Hey, Gold’s back. Wait, what happened to him? He’s practically naked! Ugh, I can't believe I just said that. I’ll have to go wash my mouth out now.”

“Never mind that. Who’s with him?”

“Isn’t that his kid? School’s over for him too, I guess. I wonder who she is, though. The kid’s girlfriend, maybe?”

“Yeah, maybe it’s a ‘meet-the-parent’ thing.”

“Ugh. Poor girl. Poor guy. Hope he doesn’t run her off o- actually, no. I kinda hope he does. That way she wouldn’t have to deal with him anymore.”

The younger two were talking animatedly as they entered the diner but petered off self-consciously when they realized that the patrons’ attention was trained on them. Gold shrugged it off and waved the other two into a booth in the corner, his son on one side and Gold and the woman on the other.

“Wait. No. No way.”

“Oh my god.”

“Holy shit.”

“D-did he just… do the yawn-and-stretch move?”

“Couldn’t have. He’s just, like, asserting his dominance, or something. He’s gotta be.”

“Oh. My. God.”

“No way she’s the kid’s girlfriend.”

“But then that’d mean…”

“Holy shit. That’s her.”

“No. I don’t believe it.”

“Ohmygod.”

 .

They waited until the woman went to the bathroom while Gold went to pay the check. 

“Screw this. I’m gonna go for it,” Ruby announced decisively. 

“Ruby, no.” 

“Don’t listen to her. Go for it, sister.”

Ruby stride toward the back purposefully and waited at the doorway, pretending to be startled as the door opened. 

“Hey! I’m Ruby. My granny runs the place. I haven’t seen you here before.”

“Oh, nice to meet you. I’m Belle. It’s my first time here, actually. I’m, um, new in town.”

“You’re… British?” Ruby hedged tentatively as they walked back out. 

“No,” Belle looked amused. She waved in Gold’s direction, apparently in the middle of arguing with Granny about something. “He is, though. I’m Australian.”

‘’Oh.” They stopped awkwardly as they reached the group eyeing the newcomer. 

“So,” Ruby began. “This is Belle.”

“Huh,” Emma said noncommittally. “So you’re dating Gold?”

Her smile faltered. “Pardon?” 

“It’s just that Gold mentioned that you were his girlfriend a few months ago,” Mary Margaret interjected kindly.

“Really?” Belle asked. “How odd.”

“Right?” Ruby interjected smugly. “That’s what I’ve been saying!”

“He proposed quite some time ago.” She turned to where Gold was still arguing with Granny, frowning. “Um, you haven’t changed your mind about getting married, have you?”

“Of course not, sweetheart. We agreed on an autumn wedding, remember?” Gold answered as he moved away from the older woman. 

“I know. I was just checking, darling.”

Emma turned to them, eyes wide. Oh my god, her eyes seemed to say. No way. 

“Now if you’ll excuse us, Belle and I are going to head to the shop. She works in art restoration, did you know?” Gold proclaimed proudly as they turned to walk away, waving to his son— enjoying his sundae while he was watching them make fools of themselves, apparently— as they passed. 

“Huh,” Emma repeated. They all watched as the pair strolled down the street, arms linked and snuggling despite the heat. She turned toward Ruby and Mary Margaret. “Do you think we’ll be invited to the wedding?”

All About Hikaru’s Otaku Activities Vol.4 Reflecting upon the arts of autumn “Entertainment that reaches people’s hearts”

In this column Kalafina’s Hikaru talks passionately about the geeky things she loves. The fourth edition follows Hikaru’s recent outings related to the arts of autumn and she shares what she is currently into

Newcomers and old acquaintances alike, welcome to the fourth edition of my casual column “All About Hikaru’s Otaku Activities”! In the first edition I introduced myself so those who are new to this webseries please be sure to check it out ♪ (can be found here!)

During the summer time there are lots of game events taking place, this summer the creators of 『Fate/Grand Order』launched a quite difficult event. (Btw, right now there is a 『Fate/Zero』 evet taking place)

On top of that, there are many movies released during the sumemr holiday season so I went to the cinema quite a lot compared to other seasons. I went to see “My Hero Academia: Two Heroes”, “Mirai no Mirai“ and “The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky”. I watched many other movies too but those are the anime films I had watched when I started writing this column.

Speaking of movies, September 21 is the release day of “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” and since I was very curious about it I read the novel that the film is based on.

It is a story about a coffee shop with a special seat, if you use that seat you will be transported back in time to a moment of your choice. However, there are many conditions to your time travel: No matter what you do, you can’t change the present. You can’t change seats. If you leave your seat you will come back to the present. You return once your coffee has turned cold and you have to finish it before your return.  

There are more troublesome rules like that but there are still many people who visit the coffee shop because they wish to travel back in time.

It is all about reflecting upon the things you want to cherish, it’s about feeling the strength to move forward. It’s incredibly moving. Reading it in public proves to be quite difficult because you won’t be able to hold back your tears. 

When the movie is released I will definitely go and see it.

Well, it is September. Autumn. In the spirit of the arts of autumn I visited the Ghibli Museum Mitaka!

There were so many exhibits inside the museum but unfortunately photography wasn’t allowed inside so I was only able to take pictures in the outside area. Among all the exhibits my favourite was “Where a Film is Born”, in these rooms you can see all the work that is put into the creation of a movie by all involved parties.

For me it was a very special place because I was able to see how these amazing animes have come into existence.

Carefully drawing all these little details yet needing countless pictures to create even the finest of motions, one has to work really fast. “An animator can’t just be a good artist, he has to work fast.” These words really left a lasting impression on me.

In this place you realise that even though the drawing technique seems so natural, these people are constantly challenging themselves by battling against time.

Creators like that will never give up, they will stay committed until the very end to reach their ideals. That’s how they are able to bring something so amazing to life. I was deeply moved by realising once again that there are people out there who have those skills and who are able to achieve all of that.

There are also corners where scenery and background pictures are being displayed. It felt very nostalgic, these beautifully drawn worlds, so clear and yet blurry like a dream. I want to enter these worlds and experience all they offer. Personally I really enjoyed looking at these pictures and wondering about the people and animals living there, about life and its stories.

From the moment you enter the Studio Ghibli Museum you will be swept away by the charm of all the Ghibli works. There’s just endless excitement to be found in this place.

Going to places you have never been to. Seeing things you have not seen before. Doing things you have never done before.

In this world there are so many things to learn and to discover. Depending on your choices your way of using time will change greatly.

Recently I often find myself blessed with the company of great people. Those gentle and warm-hearted people have kindly taken me along and got me to leave my home. When I open my door I come across all these things I do not know, I discover new things, I get to see and experience them. It’s a lot of fun.

One thing I got to disover recently are board games. My hobbies haven’t changed at all since the old days but I think now I have finally found something new that I am obsessed with. 

Puzzles, LEGO, video games, mobile games, I have loved all of these ever since I was a small child...and even though they are all different I think they have one thing in common, they make you have fun by keeping your mind on edge.

With board games you constantly have to come up with new strategies, while moving forward you have to keep your opponents in mind. It’s a unique pleasure that cannot be enjoyed alone.

So far I have played 『Splendor』where you become a peddler of fancy jewelry, 『AZUL』 which has such a nice title, 『Blokus』a strategy game,  『Auf den Spuren von Marco Polo』 which is all about peddling and travelling and  『/PENGUIN PARTY』 which is just super cute.

And the fun doesn’t stop once the game is over. Yes you feel like, “ahh, that was a lot of fun!” but you also immediately think, “let’s do this again soon!” You think about all the smart moves your opponent made and you just want to play again....it’s very addicting! But since you can’t do it alone things stay moderated and you will never overdo it, that’s the advantage of board games.

...even though I go out more these days I still end up being addicted to indoor acitivities *laughs*

And I did something else

I went to a place that was all about “shining things”.

『teamLab★Planets TOKYO DMM.com@Toyosu』 is an event where everyone has to enter with their bare feet in order to fully experience all the sensations. I have never done something like this before, I was a bit perplexed but walking barefoot like that remined me a lot of my childhood. It felt like my body had become part of the artwork.

Experiencing that kind of entertainment is very similar to what I feel when I sing or when I do lives. I want people who come to see me experience everything with their heart and soul. I feel like this strong wish will reach people’s hearts.

At any rate, it was a very exciting yet profound experience.

When it may be short, it does have a nice rhyme to it. Seriously thou, the updated version of the Kremling King’s theme is fitting for his long awaited return in Smash Ultimate.

Behold ladies and gents (If you remember this one) the very first art request I ever sent! (And also the first V-Twin request at that) Since the first time I since “Fangs a Lot Johnny” (A Johnny Test  season 5 episode), the Vampire Twins (Especially Vampire Mary) have climbed onto the ranks of my all time favorite characters. There’s just something I love about evil goth-like versions of certain cartoon characters, and since I love vampires, this ain’t no exception. 

Though I don’t like to share personal info or complain, for some reason, Cookie decided to block me shortly after the request was done. I could have upsetted her over something, and I wish in the near future, I can speak with her again to see what happened. Again tho, I’m not big on controversy, but I wanted to point that out. Let’s move on!

As you may know, “Awful Hospital” happens to be my favorite web-comic, and that’s coming from a guy, who’s not big on stuff like “Homestuck” and all that. (Goose also does music for the aforementioned Hazbin Hotel btw) As Bog stated, this this also count as Dr. Phage’s personal theme, very fitting for him as he is my favorite AH character.

And to make this more loco-crazy, the Mixel came a little more than a year before the Pokemon (Mixels Series 6 was released on October 1, 2015, and Pokemon Sun and Moon was released on Novenber 18, 2016), weird, right?

To finish this list, let’s go back to where it all began. One summer night on July 3, 2018, a certain fella in his mid-teens (I.E, me!) want to create a fandom based blog on a website notorious for feminazis whining about Steven Universe and “political correctness”, Eugh. Anyways, the first post (Or reblog if you will) was a collection of gifs featuring a certain sparkly undead duo who went on to becoming the mascots of said blog.

Welp, guess that all of them, and that’s only 10 posts out of 1000 posts and reblog that I made in almost the last year. To all of my friends and the followers who were crazy enough to follow a fella who’s obsessed with cartoon vampire girls like me ( @good-guy-is-alive , @naty-js , @odreiwa , @captain-animatordreamer ,etc) thanks for everything! Also, I plan to start digital art sometime in the near future, and I might leave this blog to start anew after some practice (and with a whole new name AND look to boot) Don’t get me wrong, I’m not leaving here, I might keep this blog as a memory. Kiss Me Goodbye... Chapter 1

“Now he’s gone. I don't know why and to this day sometimes I cry. He didn’t even say goodbye. He didn’t take the time to lie” -Nancy Sinatra

“You need a refill, George?” Asks the green eyed, burgundy haired woman as she quickly rounded the corner of the counter. Morning rush for her was always such an exciting time, due to her love of people, both newcomers and regulars.

“If it’s not too much trouble for you, Lindsey. You’re always so busy.” The older man replies back, sitting on a bar stool and pushing his empty mug towards her.

Lindsey laughs while picking up a coffee pot and pouring it, causing the dark liquid to pour out.

“Too much trouble? It’s my job to make sure you’re good!” She pushes her glasses further up on her nose. The man sips his coffee while she races around grabbing things needed for other customers.

“Order up!” a voice from the kitchen yells. Lindsey speeds over to the window saying a quick

“Thanks Marty!” before taking the food, putting it on a tray and walking it over to a couple in their mid sixties

“I got a waffle platter with scrambled eggs and a fruit bowl for Miss Kathy and a pancake stack with poached eggs and hashbrowns for the one and only Franklin” She says placing the plates to the respective people and turns the tray into her abdomen, crossing her arms over it.

“Anything else I can get for you folks? More water?”

The two smile at her before Franklin says

“No, Lindsey we’re really great thanks.”

She smiles and nods.

“Alright, you two, well you let me know if you need anything alright? How are the kids doing?”

The two smile at the mention of their children

“Well, Matt is finishing up university and he just got accepted into medical school and Darcy just got engaged to her boyfriend last night”

The young girl grins at their excitement.

“Oh my gosh that’s amazing!”

“How’s your show going?” Kathy asks

“We hear a lot about those kids of yours”

She giggles and brushes the hair out of her face.

“Well it’s not really my show it’s all the kids but, they’re doing great! It’s really amazing to see how far they’ve come and how devoted they are. Plus the show’s actually pretty cool”

They both look at her with amazement.

“You really are devoted, you put in so many hours here and with those kids and then at the shelter too! How old are you again?”

“I just turned 22 a few weeks ago”

She hears the order bell ding again and waves at the couple while walking back to the counter

The blue eyed man rubs his face with his hands as he looks over the files. So much information racked his mind and he was hitting a wall. He directs his attention upward at the sound of a knocking door.

“Yeah what” The man said.

Another guy enters saying “Anderson hasn’t paid up and yesterday was the deadline”

The blue eyed man leans back in his desk chair, sighing and running his hand through his light brown curls.

“‘S Tom back yet?”

The other man shakes his head.

“Okay,” He sits up, resting his elbows in his lap and putting his face in his hands.

“Let me know when he does.”

“Alright, Haz”

The door closes as the other man leaves as the blue eyed man sighs, runs his hand through his hair once more and gets out of his chair and walks out of his office. Closing the door behind him, he looks at the name on the door

Harrison Osterfield

He smirks to himself, reflecting on the amount of power and authority he has. He walks over to the door that says Harry Holland and lightly knocks while already entering the office.

“Hey, mate Anderson didn’t pay up so I gotta go do some form of beatdown tonight. You in?”

Harry reflects the same smirk on Harrison’s face and nods.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been out and about. Let’s do it”

“Hey Lindsey can you help me out for a sec?”

Lindsey snaps out of her thoughts and turns her head to see another volunteer carrying three bags of dog food piled on top of each other. She smiles and walks over from the help desk to the front door grabbing two of the bags and slowly walking them over to the food room. Along with working at the diner and helping out in the marching band, she also helps out at the dog shelter.

“Jeez Lindsey you’ve got some muscle there!” The two girls laugh.

“Yeah well I grew up around guys that we’re pretty much my brothers so I’m kinda used to it”

They both laugh again and Lindsey sits herself back at her desk, taking out her phone to text her roommate.

Lindsey Fuller😋 Friendly reminder I’m not gonna be home til like 9:30-10:00ish cause there’s band so do whatever for dinner and you don’t need to wait up for me 😁

Immediately, her phone buzzes back with

Grace Moore🌷 Thanks for the heads up. Have fun with your kids

Lindsey smiles at the message. She never really considered the kids to be hers but everyone else did so she rolled with it. As she gazes at the clock, then at the door, she decides she has enough time to go over notes on things the kids need to work on tonight.

As the sun set, the boys were getting antsy, Tom wanted his damn money, Haz wanted to do his job and Harry? Harry just wanted something to do.

“I don’t see why we can’t just go right now.”

Tom chuckles, looking at his brother with raised eyebrows.

“You’re always so jittery Harry just shut up and wait ‘til he’s alone”

Harry groans and the two older boys laugh. They see their target walk into the warehouse.

“Let’s go boys” Tom mumbles as the three step out of the shadows and into the warehouse the man known as “Anderson” walked into.

Harrison finds the guy first, alone in the room and blocks the doorway. Harry soon follows, blocking the doorway from the other side. Tom stayed back, wanting to make an intimidating entrance. He does need to make an impression after all. Anderson still doesn’t notice the guys presence until Harrison clears his throat. Anderson turns his head, eyes wide once he catches a glimpse of who made the noise and instantly starts walking towards the other doorway. Harry laughs, leaning on the door frame and saying

“You didn’t actually think we’d let you get away that easily, now did you?”

“I-I”

Tom emerges from the darkness.

“Where’s my fucking money, Anderson?”

The man lets out a labored breath.

“T-Tom. I can explain”

Harrison steps forward, gearing up for what’s about to happen

“You can explain?” Tom asks with raised eyebrows.

“Cause that seems like a waste of my time. What do you think guys?” Harry smirks.

“I’d rather be home right now if we’re being honest”

Tom chimes in again. “And Haz over here? Haz is looking for a girl. He could be out doing that kinda thing right now!”

Harrison raises his eyebrows and tilts his head in agreement. He isn’t wrong.

Anderson stutters as the three of them move closer and closer, closing in on him.

“I-If it’s girls you want, I have a niece about your age and I think you might like her-” “-That’s pretty sick, mate” Haz cutts him of.

“You would be willing to give us your niece, the flesh and blood of your sibling, so you can get out of some fucking money?”

Harrison swings and lands a punch to the man’s stomach.

Anderson doubles over in pain mumbling a raspy

“Th-that’s not what i meant. I-”

He gets cut off by a knee to the gut, knocking him to the floor, groaning.

Tom squats down to his level, taking Anderson’s face in his hands.

“Now, it’s still fairly early in the night and my guys and I, well, we got shit to do. So, you’re gonna make this nice and simple for me. I’m gonna ask you a question and you’re gonna show me yes,”

He stops to forcefully nod the man’s head, squishing his cheeks.

“Or no.”

Tom shakes Anderson’s Anderson’s head, signaling no.

“You understand me?”

Anderson nods his head, sweat dripping from his forehead indicating fear.

“Alright, Anderson. Do you have my money?”

There’s a pause, even more tension fills the air and the man  slowly shakes his head.

“No?” Tom asks.

He looks at Haz and Harry.

“Well, at least he’s being honest.”

The three of them smile but then Harry interjects

“But, I mean it’s already a bad idea to take out a loan from the biggest mob boss in London, let alone not pay it back. I feel like lying would make everything worse. Wouldn’t you think Tom?”

Tom shrugs and nods, soon asking.

“So, what should we do with him then?”

Immediately, Anderson starts begging

“Please, Mr. Holland I’ll do anything. Just give me one more week. I can give my brother a call and set you and your friend up if that’s what you really want.”

The three guys roll their eyes before Harrison takes out his gun, pointing it at the man.

“I have an idea” he says, smirking.

The begging intensifies as Harrison cocks his gun.

“You sick son of a bitch. You could’ve given us the money that you owe us but instead, you find out that I just so happened to be kinda not really looking for a girl and you offer up your own family? I’m not even related to those two and they treat me better.”

He says, gesturing towards Tom and Harry with his gun.

“Please, Mr.Osterfield. I’m sorry!”

Harrison sighs.

“If only your niece could see you now”

Bang

“Nice rim shot at the end snares!” Lindsey says as she jogs back from where she was watching them.

“I would just say watch your heights on the sextuplet rolls, a good lot of you are accenting your right hand which is not what we need right now alright?”

She feels her phone buzz in her pocket and takes it out to see

Grace Moore🌷 Hey! Btw there’s a package here for you

Lindsey’s eyebrows furrow in confusion.

Lindsey Fuller😋 Go ahead and open it if it’s actually addressed to me… I don’t really remember ordering anything so it’s either some sort of surprise or a bomb.

She smiles at the message she sent and it immediately fades. She could’ve sworn she felt a pair of eyes on her. She cranes her head left and right, seeing nothing.

Her phone buzzes again.

Grace Moore🌷 It’s from the people living in your old house? They said they found an old scrapbook of yours and sent it along with a note… damn you were an adorable kid

“Ugh” Lindsey says to herself at the last part of the text. She looked around again, still getting the feeling that someone was watching her from a distance.

“Watch that roll snares! It sounds like blulululuah which is a bad thing!” She yells after the marching snare drummers.

Lindsey lets out a big yawn while looking at the time.

“Long night, Lindsey?” One of the drummers asks her.

She laughs.

“I can’t tell if you’re being sincere or if that’s part of the high school humor that i definitely do not miss since graduating.”

The younger boy smiles and says

“Honestly, it was a bit of both but all of us here know you stretch yourself pretty thin.”

She laughs again.

“Yeah, nothing caffeine and a kickass show can’t fix though”

Lindsey arrives at her apartment to see her old scrapbook and a note sitting on the kitchen table.

“Hi Lindsey! We found this scrapbook in a box in the attic, saw your name in the inside cover and decided it would be a good idea to mail it to you! I hope all is well wherever you are!

-Phyllis and Clifford Sullivan”

She flips through the book, reflecting on the memories she and her friends made of her childhood. Two families in particular come to mind right away. Constant sleepovers with the two boys her age, playing cowboy or football with them and exchanging smiles. Along with the memories of the two families, a song comes to mind. It was sung to her on so many occasions by one woman and only one woman. She would push the red hair out of her face and lightly comb Lindsey’s brown and sing

“I was five and he was six. We rode on horses made of sticks.”

Lindsey soon sang to herself softly.

“He wore black and I wore white. He would always win the fight.

Bang Bang.”

Thank you!  I actually had almost no sleep during the convention for anxiety-related reasons, but then I came home and crashed for a full 12 hours so I'm relatively well-rested now.  There were a few bumps in the weekend due to reasons outside my control, but otherwise I had a pretty good time :)  Hope everyone had a good weekend!

When Turbine debuted, Manapul made a comment that they replaced Roscoe because "nobody knows what tops are anymore".  Ever since then I've been annoying my spouse with that line whenever I see Beyblades on toy shelves :>  And agreed, pretty much every comic character -- and probably a lot of characters in fiction -- can sound ridiculous when you twist their concept to seem silly.  Which is exactly what that writer did here.

He is!  But mockery of him is extremely common, and it's so frustrating.  I'm sure it's part of the reason he's really unpopular.

I like the way you think!  And agreed for sure.  The oldest of Barry's Rogues are more than 60 years old now and the other Silver Age Rogues are approaching that age, and they're more popular than ever.  Jay's enemies are 75 years+ now.

That's a very good question.  For some of these entries it sounds like he isn't familiar with much of their appearances, especially because all he does is riff on what's in their Who's Who entries.  But I'm pretty sure Len got such a good grade because of his modern incarnation, suggesting he does know a bit about him....because let's be real, Len wasn't that popular or much of a cool badass before Johns.

You're remembering correctly, the skates were Len's invention.  And in fact the Who's Who entry does state that she figured out Barry's identity, although it doesn't note that she was the first.  Regardless, like a lot of non-Rogues fans, this guy makes a whole bunch of assumptions about her and thinks she's silly because she has a skating gimmick (seriously, I have run into so many of those guys over the years) and thus writes her off as a threat or even as a character.  

As I noted in the reply to an ask, I think the guy is referring to her ties to other Rogues by the "incest" comment.  Chillblaine's thematic similarities to Len is weird, but it might just be DC being non-creative about their cold villain designs...the villain Coldsnap also looks similar to Len and the Chillblaines, but isn't connected to them.

Yeah, seconded.  It's the same old stuff we hear from people who don't know the Rogues well and think they're just 'LOL heat gun' 'LOL ice skates' and so on.  It's interesting to see how non-fans perceive the Rogues, but they rarely have anything interesting or insightful to say about them.

Same!  And I must say, I was figuring he'd appear in the June solicitation/cover released today....but he wasn't.  That makes me a tad nervous for his future in the book.  However, it's possible the issue will simply focus on Deadshot and Digger and the other Squad members aren’t being used for non-sinister reasons.

Yeah, I actually enjoy reading stuff like that because I'm interested to know what other people think about the Rogues....although as noted above, they rarely have anything insightful to say.  But I find it helps me to write about the Rogues for newcomers, as it helps to head off their complaints before they come to a knee-jerk negative conclusion about the characters.

The house looked exactly the same. You didn’t know what you were expecting. Your parents kept up on the house on a regular basis and the only thing that could be considered new was the constant repainting and the porch they had replaced with new wood last year.

You were visiting for your parent’s 30th wedding anniversary. And naturally, basically the whole town was invited.

The door to the house opened as soon as you got out of the car. The driver moved around the back of the car to open the trunk and retrieve your bags for you.

Your mum and your best friend pulled you into tight hugs, giving you kisses. “You’re here!” Amanda squealed, practically bouncing.

“How was the plane?” your mother asked you as the driver placed your bags on the ground next to you.

“Fine. It was fine. And I’m glad to be here,” you addressed both of them. “Can we go inside though? It’s hotter than fuck out here.”

“Hey! Language!” your mother chastised you, causing you to snort because as if she had any room to talk about swearing.

You decided to flatter her, “I need some of your amazing sangria, mum.”

“I have a fresh batch!”

“So, when we go to the bar tonight…” Amanda started as you unpacked essentials to put in the bathroom. She was sprawled across your childhood bed.

You snorted, “I’m sure everyone will be extremely excited to hear about me working and partying. Basically, the same as people do here. Just on a much larger scale.”

“Okay, but for example, what about that time you and your friend got locked out of your apartment and that creepy ass locksmith came and you lied and told them it was your neighbors apartment you lived in because he was asking where you slept?” This made you laugh and she said, “And you’ve told me a bunch more. Hell, I can even tell your stories for you and fill in the blanks!”

Giving her a mock sad look, you grabbed her hand. “I wish you would move there with me. It would be so much fun. And come on, the dating pool is way larger and has so many different kinds of options.”

Amanda wagged a finger at you, “That is very tempting. I am still visiting you this fall though, remember? Maybe I can snag someone while I’m there. Although, I highly doubt they’ll want to move here.”

“Which means you can move there!”

“Keep dreaming.”

“I will.”

“You look high class,” Amanda teased you as the two of you walked from her car towards the local bar.

You couldn’t deny that there were butterflies fluttering in your stomach. You knew what she had said earlier was going to be true in a sense. Any type of disturbance in the normalcy here was going to cause a big scene. This is something you enjoyed about living in the city. You could go to the bar and be a complete new patron and it wouldn’t make a lick of difference. Here, newcomers were stared at and prodded until they gave their life story about why they were there and how they came to be. Everyone knew who you were and why you would be there. But, they hadn’t heard from you in years. And you certainly had not been of legal drinking age to be in a bar with them. Drinking out in the back woods or at someone’s parent’s house did not have the same atmosphere as the bar.

Shooting her a look, you replied, “You’ve said that twice already.”

Amanda laughed, “I’m just saying. If you didn’t want to stand out, maybe you should have chosen a t shirt and some beat up tennis shoes to go with your shorts.”

“I don’t own ‘beat up tennis shoes’”, you told her. You had chosen a lace, black crop top and paired it with your brand-new leather jacket and short heeled, black boots.

“I know. How could you show your face anywhere in the city with those?” she teased as you started walking up the ramp towards the patio.

“At least I didn’t wear my four inch heels.”

Snorting, Amanda said, “Yeah, that would have been great on the gravel. I would have paid to see that. Why did you wear heels anyway?”

“We’re going out.”

“Right…” Amanda drug the word out as the two of you came up to the door. You had already seen a couple people from high school that you had purposely not made eye contact with on the patio. You stopped in front of the door hesitantly before Amanda gave you a nudge, “Come on. I’ve never known you to be nervous.” Her voice was quiet when she added, “And yes, he’s in there. I saw his truck out front.”

You shot her an annoyed look, “Thanks for that.”

“Just giving you a heads up.”

Forcing yourself forward, you walked into the loud bar. It wasn’t any lighter inside than it was outside, so your eyes didn’t need to adjust. It was a Friday night and the place was extremely busy. What else were they going to do on a Friday night besides the movies or going down to the river?

You made sure Amanda was behind you before you made your way towards the bar, wanting to ingest as much alcohol as you could before having to interact with people.

Your heart sank when you realized you recognized the bartender. It was one of the former guys on the baseball team that you had been friendly with. Bryce. Meaning… you had made out with him a few times behind the tool shed before he went to practice. He was still toned and looked great. No regrets there.

His eyes widened seeing you and then his face broke out into a wide smile. “Y/N!” he called over the music. “What the hell?”

You shrugged, acting more calm than you felt. And he pointed at you, “The 30th!”

“Yep!” you called back over the music.

He leaned over the bar and gave you a hug, best he could across the bar. “Shit, it’s good to see you. You look good! Amanda!” He greeted her, giving her a high five.

Amanda smirked and said, “Please, two doubles of whiskey!”

“You sure you don’t want a martini now?” Bryce teased you and you shot him a look. He laughed loudly and said, “Honestly, if you asked me to make that, I don’t know what I would do.”

“I think you would be surprised at how many people take shots and drink beer there, Bryce!” you retorted.

This drew another loud laugh out of him as he worked on getting you two well whiskey shots.

Amanda and you clanked the glasses and took the first shot. “God, please let this work fast.”

“Hey!” someone greeted Amanda and you turned to see who it was. Jackie. She was not bad and you were happy it was here and not someone else.

As soon as she saw you though, you wish it wasn’t her because her mouth fell open and she let out a squee, throwing herself at you, her arms wrapping around your neck. “Oh my GOD! You’re back!” She pulled away, still holding onto your arms and began asking you a questions a mile a minute. “Are you here for good? Or are you just here for your parent’s anniversary? Silly me, of course it’s just the anniversary. Who would move back here after moving away?”

“Yeah, the anniversary.”

She nodded excitedly, “That’s such good news! Your parents are such an amazing couple. You must feel so great having them as your parents. Do you keep in contact with them regularly?” You nodded and she looked touched. “That’s so nice. There’s some people who move away and just try to forget the place. I’m glad you have a good relationship with them!” She was always bubbly but she had obviously drank a bit. She was never this hands on. “Why don’t you guys come over towards the back? There’s a bunch of us back there hanging out!” She leaned in and said, “And Cas is back there, Y/N.”

Of course he was. This was going to happen eventually.

Amanda made to step in but you took care of it, “Maybe in a bit! Amanda and I have a few more drinks we wanna do up here. We will make the rounds.” You grasped her hand, trying to sound sincere. “Seriously, promise!”

Jackie threw her arms around your neck again and you forced a smile, uncomfortable with the closeness. She pulled away, “I’m so happy you’re here! I can’t wait to catch up! We will be getting you drunk tonight, trust me! Everyone is gonna be wanting to buy you drinks.”

You made to protest but Amanda chimed in, “Yeah, that’s what I was counting on!” You shot her a look and she smirked.

“Come to the back soon!” Jackie practically ordered you. “I’ll let everyone know you’re here!”

“Oh, you don’t have to…” you started to protest weakly but she was already moving back towards the crowd with her beers in both hands.

Amanda elbowed you, “You knew he was going to know sooner or later.”

“Let’s take this,” you muttered turning back to the bar and the both of you took the remaining shots. You caught Bryce’s attention and said, “Whiskey with diet. Two of them. Please. Doubles.”

“You’re gonna be slammed before you even visit!” Bryce laughed.

You teased, “You haven’t seen me drink in a long time, Bryce! My tolerance is still as great as ever.”

Turning your head, you peaked at the back of the bar where the pool tables were. Jackie, as she said, was excitedly telling everyone something. And you knew it was about you. Your eyes searched the group and you didn’t see him.

Until you did. His blue eyes cutting across the room, meeting yours. Christ, he looked good. He had obviously come here straight from work, looking sweaty. But that might also be the humidity. That was one thing you didn’t miss about this place. His baseball cap was the same he loved in school, just extremely beat up now.

Tearing your eyes away from him, you looked at the drinks in front of you. “Shit, I’m not ready for this.”

“What’s a bit of sex between an old boyfriend and girlfriend?” Amanda jested.

You glared at her, annoyed she was so convinced that’s where it was going to end up while you were here, and stated, “A lot. It means a lot.”

She tapped your glass and said, “Well, then make it good.”

I've been wanting to start watch Korean Dramas for a while now, but it's pretty overwhelming. Do you have any suggestions on where to start?

Hi nonny! Ikr, there are just so many of them :’) i don’t know why you’re willingly trying to be drowned in the Hallyu wave, but I’m happy to help. you asked at just the right time actually, I’ve been sick as a dog this week and spending all my time doing up a masterpost of k-drama recs, which hopefully i’ll finish soon. But I’ve got them all fresh in my mind and have a few options for you:

(i’m working on the assumption that you’re from a western country and haven’t had much to do with eastern media, outside maybe anime or manga, but please correct me if i’m wrong ^^ )

Boys Over Flowers (2009): The king of dramas, this was my first Korean drama and, IIRC, it’s Japanese counterpart was my first Asian drama ever (thanks for the gateway drug, my high school Jap teacher). BoF is what I imagine would happen if someone tried to film a really good bad fanfiction. It’s super trashy, super ridiculous, and super addicting. It’s a nice introduction into all of the rules, tropes and cliches of k-dramas because it contains literally every single one. The truest classic of the genre.

Plot: A modern-day Cinderella tale of a poor, but spunky schoolgirl at an exclusive academy who attracts the interest of four rich (and handsome) guys of the school collectively known as F4. 

My Lovely Sam Soon (2005): Relatively not one of my highest rated dramas, but I think it’s perfect for new viewers (although you need to be used to the genre to really appreciate it’s uniqueness). On the complete opposite end of the scale from BoF, Sam Soon has much more believable and relateable conflict (plus you have Daniel Henney in there for a nice transition). It doesn’t have all the ‘makjang’ elements that you find in most k-dramas, so it resembles our own television much more. It’s down-to-earth with a universal appeal.

Plot: Overweight, unmarried, stuck with an embarrassingly old-fashioned name, and has just lost her job and caught her boyfriend of three years cheating on her, Sam Soon’s life is changed when she is hired to work for the rich (and hot) Hyun Jin Heon and pretend to be his girlfriend.

Age of Youth (2016): This one is very modern, especially by comparison to the other two, which is why I think it’s good for newcomers. If you’ve grown up on HBO, lot of k-dramas can be jarring because they’re so conservative (not that it’s a bad thing— you’ll never find as much sincerity in tv as you will in a k-drama).  But there isn’t a lot of difference between this show and western tv. It’s also very ‘millennial’ in a lot of ways, and focuses more on friendship than it does romance.

Plot: A group of 5, 20-something girls in a sharehouse experience love and coming of age with their own unique and intertwining stories.

Coffee Prince (2007): I’m not sure anyone alive could watch this drama and not be completely in love with it. Maybe not a first watch, but definitely a must watch.

Plot: Doesn’t matter. Watch it.

You can find most of these pretty easily online, however I would recommend Dramafever, which is pretty much the equivilent of Netflix (and super cheap for premium membership. Like $3/m i think.)

(these are all rom-com style btw. if you’re looking for melodramas, sageuks or thrillers i have a few recs of those too, but I haven’t watched nearly as many)
