Part One: Melina - Manny x Reader - Manny's daughter wants to meet you.
Part Two: Club Business (feat: Hank Loza) - Manny finally sits down with Hank Loza to discuss his relationship with you.
Tumblr media
Another postcard, another country, another city.
It’s Italy this time, Verona.
In the past few weeks, Manny’s received one from both Milan and Pisa.
He looks at his fridge, inundated with the evidence of your adventures and he wonders what he’ll do when he runs out of space, where he’ll put them all then. It occurs to him that he’s thinking in the long term, not months but years down the line. You out there exploring the world, him here managing his club. It shouldn’t work but somehow it does. He’s the stable presence in your life, the grounding force and you’re his wildness, the part of him that remembers how to live.
“Put them in a scrapbook.” His daughter Melina suggests as she perches at the kitchen table, carefully cutting out a picture of an elephant from a magazine he’d picked up.
“That’s not a bad idea.” You say from the phone propped up against the saltshaker on the table. “You’re going to have to help him choose one though because his taste is a little…”
Manny knows you’re pulling a face, it’s in the way Melina laughs.
The three of you have been video chatting regularly since the initial introduction over a month ago. You’ve become as integral to their routine as breathing. Manny looks up from chopping peppers before handing off a slice to Melina, she crunches it between her teeth.
“Orange is his favourite colour.” Melina says with a sigh, picking up one of her colouring pens to show you. “He thinks it goes with everything.”
“It does.” Manny argues, rolling his eyes before he washes his hands in the sink. “It’s bright, it’s uplifting, who doesn’t want that in a colour? It’s you two that are wrong, who likes the colour blue, it’s dour, depressing.”
“Relaxing, soothing.” You correct him, shaking your head. “What will we do with him Melina?”
“Alright, alright.” Manny says, picking up a hand towel and drying his hands as he steps around the breakfast island. “If you two are done judging my colour choices, we still need to get Melina’s homework done. The two of you were talking about India and the elephant sanctuary.”
“That’s right.” You agree, straightening your shoulders. “Ok kid, what other questions do you have?”
He cooks dinner while the two of you talk. They’re having pasta tonight because Melina’s decided she wants a taste of the Mediterranean, thanks to a conversation the two of you had yesterday about how much you love Italian food. He’d tried to bargain it down to pizza, but she’d given him that look and reminded him he’d already promised that as their Saturday treat so pasta it is.
“At least she’s trying new things.” Sam had shrugged when he’d told her. “She could be eating chicken nuggets all the time like that kid Jeremy at school.”
Small blessings, he thinks as he watches the water simmer. He turns it down a little before he approaches Melina’s chair, his hands come to rest on her shoulders lightly before he presses a kiss to the top of her head.
“Mi Nina.” He murmurs. “Dinner’s almost ready. Go wash up, ok?”
Melina complies slipping out of her seat and heading to the bathroom. Manny picks up the phone, a smile tipping up at the edges of his mouth.
“Thank you for that, I know it’s late there.”
There’s eight hours time difference between Italy and Yuma. It’s six o’clock here and almost two am your time. You’d been photographing the afterparty at the Parma Tattoo Nerd Fest and just gotten back to your room when he’d called.
“It’s cool.” You tell him, running a hand through your hair. “You know it takes me a while to wind down.”
He can tell you’re tired, he’s been noticing it a lot recently. You’ve been working yourself into the ground, chasing the work where you can get it. It’s the nature of a freelance career. You take the jobs when they come in. Your skills are in high demand, you’re well known in the Expo circles for the quality of your work and your reliability. Some creatives were flakes but you, you’re dedicated.
“So, I’m going to take some time off one I’ve finished up in Fiuggi.” You tell him, toying with the silver stacker rings on your fingers. “The last couple of months have been intense and I need to take a break.”
“I think that’s a good idea.” He tells you, leaning on the breakfast bar as he holds the phone between his hands. “You need to take some time for yourself Mami, rest and relax. Working that hard, it’s not good for you.”
“I’m going to book a flight back to the States, I need to make a stop in Joshua Tree, drop some of my stuff at my storage locker…”
“Storage locker.” He repeats because he fully expected you to say apartment.
Something clicks into place then, something he hasn’t considered until this very moment, and it breaks his fucking heart. When he thinks back over all the conversations you’ve had he realises you have never once mentioned an apartment, or a house or anything resembling a home. The storage locker is literally the first place of permeance you’ve brought up. Up until now it’s been hotel rooms and Airbnbs.
“Mami…” He says quietly, lowering his voice so that Melina doesn’t overhear. “Where is home for you?”
“I…” You trial off, your eyebrows furrowing as you contemplate the question. You glance back up at the camera on your phone and the look in your eyes it kills him. “I’ve never really thought about it until now… I guess I don’t have one.”
It’s the nature of the foster system he thinks, moving from place to place, never settling long enough for a home of your own. You’ve emulated the pattern over and over again without even realising it. He sees the moment it dawns on you, something shatters deep inside and it resonates over the six thousand miles that separates you. He wishes that he was there right now, that he could wrap his arms around you and hold you close, that he could take away the anguish he sees in your features, but he can’t. Instead, he places his hand over his heart as he speaks his truth.
“It’s with me Sara.” He tells you. “Your home, it’s with me.”
***
You’ve been travelling for over eighteen hours by the time you make it to Phoenix. It’s ten o’clock at night and you are bone achingly tired, you’d tried to catch a couple of hours on the plane, but the truth is you were too excited to see Manny. You’d called him during the two-hour layover in Atlanta to let him know you were back in the country and that there were no delays with your connecting flight.
“I can’t wait to see you.” He’d told you, the tone of his voice sending a rush of heat surging through your body.
“Me too.” You say, a smile gracing your lips. “It feels like it’s been a lifetime.”
He still looks as good as the day the two of you first met, black jeans that hug his lower body just right, that khaki green shirt buttoned all the way to the top. When his eyes meet yours, a small smile graces his handsome features and something inside you just lights up. You’re in his arms in an instant, his aftershave filling your nose as he holds you close. He smells like leather, lavender and patchouli, scents that make you think of home.
“It’s good to have you back.” He whispers into your hair, and you nod because right now there’s all this emotion rising up in your chest and you just can’t speak.
It’s been a journey over the past few days, facing up to the reality of your patterns, the ones that have been ingrained since childhood. You realised it’s time to change, time to put something permanent in place and you want that to be with Manny.
He draws away, his palms clasping your face. His thumbs chase away the tears that leak down your cheeks, his forehead coming to rest upon yours.
“Hey, hey.” He soothes, his lips brushing over yours. “You’re home now.”

India and Jerome have been renting this gorgeous apt. in Cincinnati, Ohio for a year. Look at the wood and stained glass!
Tumblr media
India says they’ve always lived in vintage apts., but this Victorian takes the cake. It sure does! There are four giant pocket doors, windows everywhere, three beautiful fireplaces and original light fixtures.
Tumblr media
This bookshelf is their only storage, so they’ve had to build it, themselves.
Tumblr media
The foyer walls and ceiling are all wood, plus the original tiled floor and stained glass double doors are still intact.
Tumblr media
They fell in love with it, but then it was intimating to decorate. India figured out that clean lines and bright colors leave room for the woodwork to shine. (I cannot believe that the landlord let them paint it.)
Tumblr media
Bold color, clean lines, geometric shapes, color blocking, and random stuff that makes India smile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
India discovered my secret- she shops in kids’ sections b/c they have the coolest stuff. (You KNOW the giraffes came a kids’ dept.)
Tumblr media
India spent months obsessing over curtain fabrics and colors. She never knew how much they cost until they moved here and had to buy a zillion sets of 10-foot curtains.
Tumblr media
Their apartments have been handmade, vintage, and DIY only, but since they needed so many curtains and didn’t have a big budget, she had to break her no-big-box-store rule and buy them on Amazon.
Tumblr media
Her favorite thing is this cut-out made by a local craftsman for a summer bible school.
Tumblr media
The TV console was a DIY.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kitchen is her favorite room.
Tumblr media
They love bowling and even had their wedding reception at an old bowling alley, so the fact that the kitchen if made from old bowling lanes, was perfect.
Tumblr media
Those stairs!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s not much storage and India is obsessed with accessories like socks and earrings, so they built some fun ways to display them.

The bright orange and sunny yellow bath.

Good Morning
Jotaro Kujo x Reader
warnings/tags: dom!Jotaro sub!reader, fanfic, smut, cursing, implied sex, slight degradation, voyeurism, fingering, groping, denied orgasm - I'm so sorry this is such filth ≥^≤
summary: breakfast must come to a halt when Jotaro sees you in nothing but one of his oversized shirts
word count: 1.4k
You opened your eyes, waking from a pleasant dream. Under the bedsheets to your left lay a peacefully sleeping Jotaro, his chest rising and falling as he softly snored. Past him you gazed out the window of your bedroom - seeing the town beneath you light up with the soft glow of dawn on the horizon. You were currently in the mountains of India, and Mr. Joestar had rented a small house for the six of you to stay the night in.
Slipping out from under the covers, you shivered as the room's cool air hit your naked form. You padded over to the pile of fabric on the floor that was your combined clothes. The two of you had been too busy last night to bother putting them away - your cheeks heated up at the memory.
Being as silent as you could, you shifted through the pile, slipping on your panties and one of his large lavender shirts, which fit you like a short dress. Tiptoeing to the door, you opened it and exited the room. Turning back around to close the door, you glanced one last time at your boyfriend with a loving smile - he hadn't moved an inch.
As you made your way down the hall to the kitchen, stomach grumbling, you listened for any sounds signaling that your other companions were awake. But the house was dead silent - you were apparently the first one up.
Humming a quiet tune, you made your way into the kitchen. Deciding to surprise the crusaders with breakfast, you looked through the cabinets and fridge for the necessary pots and ingredients. Trying to be as quiet as possible, you cracked some eggs and began frying some bacon on the stove, caught up in your own little world. You lost track of time, going through the motions of your task like you were entranced.
You jumped in surprise as you felt two heavy arms snake around your waist from behind. Immediately, you relaxed when you smelled a familiar smokiness wafting off the man behind you. You sank into his embrace, tilting your head up to peck his cheek as he rested his head on your shoulder.
"Morning, JoJo." You greeted, reaching up to ruffle his already messy dark hair.
He grunted in response, closing his eyes and hugging you tighter as he inhaled your scent.
"You're so fucking hot." He complimented, his voice still deep and raspy from sleep. Whenever you wore his clothes, he could've sworn you got sexier each time.
His hands began to travel lower, fingers playing with the edge of your shirt. You felt your heartbeat speeding up, suddenly very aware of how close he was, his broad chest pressed to your back. Feeling very flustered, you began to lose your grip on the metal spatula in your right hand. You could feel the tension in the air.
"Jotaro…" You warned.
He let out a low chuckle, his chest vibrating against you. "Don't act like you didn't wear my shirt on purpose. You wanted the others to see you this way didn't you - for them to see who you belong to?"
You felt your knees buckle at his words.
"Oh? So that's how it is?"
What would've been a frantic denial was silenced when he began to leave a flurry of hot kisses down your neck. He knew exactly where to place them, how to drive you mad. Soon, he had you nearly forgetting your surroundings and the fact you were very much not in private. He pulled your hips closer, your ass brushing up against the tent already forming in his sweatpants.
"Oh my God, Jotaro!" Your high pitched voice raised above a whisper, surprised and embarrassed by his boldness.
"What?" He asked, hot breath fanning over your neck, with a tone feigning innocence. "If you want them to know so badly, then why don't I just take you here where they could walk in at any moment?"
You scoffed, turning bright red. "You can't be serious."
He spun you around in his arms so you were now facing him, staring up into his turquoise eyes. Smirking darkly at how flustered you were - you'd secretly fantasized about this very scenario many times - you could see he was dead serious. Your mouth opened in shock, feeling yourself clench around nothing at the thought of living it.
Jotaro leaned down, taking the opportunity to lock your lips with his in a heated kiss. Your mouth fell open further as you shut your eyes, letting him slip his tongue past your teeth to intertwine with yours. He pushed you up against the stove, burner knobs digging into your back. Reaching behind you, you fumbled with them, trying desperately to turn them off. Breakfast would have to wait.
You blindly threw the spatula on the counter right before his large hands gripped your ass, lifting you up into his arms. He turned around, setting you roughly atop the kitchen island that sat across from the stove. Spreading your thighs, you wrapped your legs around his hips, bringing him closer and feeling his erection against your clothed core.
"JoJo…" You moaned softly into his mouth, rolling your hips in an attempt to pleasure yourself on his covered cock.
He laughed another low, rumbling laugh. "You're such a little whore, shamelessly wanting to be stuffed with my cock at seven in the morning."
You mewled at his words, digging your nails into the muscles of his arms in response. Continuing to ravage your lips with open mouthed kisses, he began lifting your shirt, exposing your bare breasts. With one hand he squeezed one, running the pad of his thumb in circles over the nipple. His other hand traveled to your lacy black panties, which he pulled to the side with ease.
You thrusted your hips forward harshly when you felt him press a finger to your clit, rubbing quick circles around your dripping entrance. Squirming at the overwhelming pleasure, you felt yourself beginning to shake slightly as the dangerous combination brought you to orgasm. He could tell you were close as you began to go limp in his touch. Just before your release washed over you, Jotaro pulled back his hands and rested them on your hips again.
Whining loudly in frustration, you wanted to scold him for denying you this. But he wasn't having it, instead relentlessly attacking your lips and barely even giving you a chance to breathe.
It took you a moment to fathom what happened next, only realizing the sound you'd heard behind you had been footsteps when you heard their owner's shocked exclamation.
"Oh wow."
The accent was unmistakable. You broke away from Jotaro's kisses, whipping your head around to see the wide eyes of your white-haired friend standing in the entrance of the hallway.
"Polnareff!" You spluttered, scrambling to escape Jotaro's grasp. But he held you firmly in place, only smirking at your desperation.
A second later, your situation got much worse as Mr. Joestar walked in behind the Frenchman. Your boyfriend's smirk immediately faded. It took Joseph a moment to process the scene in front of him, eyes eventually drifting to Jotaro's hands on your hips and your legs around his waist.
Joseph's hand shot up to cover his mouth as he screamed. "OH MY GOD!"
At that, a third member of your group appeared, still rubbing his violet eyes sleepily. "What is going on in here…" Kakyoin started to ask before glancing up. "Oh."
A little too late, Joseph attempted to block the red head's view with his mechanical hand. But the poor boy had already seen and understood everything.
Jotaro cooly slipped you off the counter, letting your shirt fall back down to conceal your underwear. Spinning you around once again, he continued to hold you tight from behind as if to say: 'you got your wish.' He stood protectively behind you, staring daggers at the other crusaders.
You cleared your throat quietly before smiling awkwardly at your companions. "Um… good morning everyone."
Amused, Polnareff chuckled. "Yeah, seems like it."
Flushing pink, you quickly busied yourself with handing out what you'd managed to make for breakfast, eventually sitting down to eat with Jotaro over at a small dining table. You happened to glance up at Kakyoin as he moved to sit down at the island with a full plate of food. Hesitating a moment, he promptly backed away and moved to sit on a cushion in the living area, muttering:
"On second thought…"

Aziracrow but crowley has asthma please I need the whump and the h/c I need worried az I need scared Crowley I need it all please
Title: Experiencing the Fragility of being Human
An unnatural feeling crept through Crowley’s veins as he awoke from his week-long slumber. His throat felt dry, stumbling out of bed he walked into a brightly blue painted kitchen. Scowling at the bright sun shining through the open window Crowley raised an eyebrow at his angel’s obvious handiwork. Aziraphale must have been quite bored while he slept, seeing as the kitchen went from a muddy brownish color to a periwinkle blue.
As he filled a cup full of water a gentle breeze sent a chill down his spine. The glass in Crowley’s hand slipped, shattering on the ceramic floor. Shards of glass littered the ground as Crowley’s body shook under a coughing spell.
Leaning against the counter his shoulders shook as it became harder to breath. Panic took hold as he grabbed his chest, feeling it grow tighter. Trying to clear his throat Crowley felt himself begin to wheeze between breaths.
Aziraphale, hearing one of his precious antique cups shatter, walked into the kitchen with a disappointed frown on his face. “I know you may not like the color I chose, darling but-,” concern took over Aziraphale’s expression as he quickly made his way over to his demon,” My love what is wrong?!” Resting a hand between Crowley’s shoulder blades Aziraphale tried to miracle away his love's distress.
However, the warmth Aziraphale normally would feel between his fingertips felt cold as the light in his palm flickered out of existence. Dread filled Aziraphale’s entire being in an instant. Unsure what to do, Aziraphale turned Crowley around so he could face him directly.
Crowley, feeling light headed, put up zero fight, almost ragdolling in the process. Aziraphale carefully lowered Crowley to the ground, resting his back against the cabinets. After brushing away shards of black stained glass Aziraphale kneeled down as he gently held his demon's face with the utmost care.
Speaking softly Aziraphale tried to stay calm,” N-now dear, it sounds like you're having t-trouble breathing. I need you to do your best to take a few deep breaths for me.”
Through hazy vision Crowley could still make out his heavenly partner in crime in front of him. Wheezing he tightened his grip holding his hand closer against his chest. Gritting his teeth Crowley nodded, as he tried to take a deep breath his body shook through another coughing fit.
A whimper left Aziraphale, unsure how to help he tried to mimic a deep breathing technique he had learned from a friend long ago in India. Crowley scowled as he tried to copy Aziraphale, after a few more attempts he was able to breathe a little better. Not perfect but better.
Confused Aziraphale ran his fingers through Crowley’s hair, worry still etched across his features. “Are you alright dear? What happened?”
Drained Crowley closed his eyes, the feeling of his angel doting on him comforted him as he took another shaky breath. “ Hell if I know, why didn’t you just miracle me better?”
Horrified Aziraphale looked at his right hand as he whispered,” I-I…couldn’t.”
Opening one of his eyes slowly Crowley spoke, his voice barely above a whisper,” What?”

The chaha burns your tongue but you don't mind. You enjoy the scalding feel, even. It reminds you of the times when you were sick and your Ajji or Aai or Maushi would make lavang dalchini chaha to soothe your throat.
The primary storm season in India began three weeks ago. It's the Kartika mahina, and you stare out the window as the rain pounds against the glass, a cup of chaha and a plate of pakode on the table. You live in the continental part of Maharashtra, but the rains are always heavy during storm season. You can't say you don't enjoy it.
The local library has shelves upon shelves of pustaka in Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit and even the occasional English. You spend most of the storm season there, listening to the muffled rimjhim of paus as you read Ved Vyasa, Aryabhatta, Mirza Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, Kusumagraj and Pu La Deshpande.
Navratri had finished more than a week ago, but the aftermath is just as fun. Diwali is around the corner, and you can't decide whether you want to celebrate Seeta Ram returning to Ayodhya or the defeat of Narakasura by Satyabhama. The preparations begin right as Navratri finishes, and people start deep cleaning houses. You're roped into it by your Aai, and your muscles ache when you fall onto the charpai at night, but you feel accomplished.
You and your Tai sit down to paint the diwa, with natural paints that are bright and bold— laal, gulabi, keshari, hirwa, neela. It's an ongoing competition from many years ago, and both of you push and pull at each other, laughter spilling from your lips as you drag the ranga covered paintbrushes over each other's skin.
At the end, both of you watch with smiles as two diwe, one yours and one your Tai's, are placed on each side of the door.
Lights are strung up everywhere, and the overwhelming smell of mithai and chakli and udbatti float around the house. The kitchen is filled with smoke as your Ajji, Aai and Maushi toil away at making all of those things. You take a deep breath before you leave the house, wanting to take the smell with you everywhere.
Diwali is just in a few days, and you can't wait.

8 Modular Kitchen Design Tips For Compact Spaces
Tumblr media
Originally Posted On:- https://www.regalokitchens.com/8-modular-kitchen-design-tips-for-compact-spaces.php
Designing a modular kitchen design for compact spaces requires thoughtful consideration and strategic planning to maximize functionality without sacrificing style. Start by giving effective storage options like pull-out cabinets and vertical shelving units priority in order to make the most of the small space. Still, style and functionality don't have to be sacrificed for a small kitchen. You may build a kitchen that is both aesthetically beautiful and functional with the appropriate approach to design and smart use of available space. In this blog, we'll explore eight essential tips for designing a modular kitchen design in compact spaces, with a special focus on Regalo Kitchens, the leading brand in India known for its innovation and quality craftsmanship.
1. Optimize Vertical Space with Tall Cabinets
In a compact modular kitchen design, every inch of space counts. Utilizing vertical space effectively can significantly increase storage capacity without taking up valuable floor area. Pots, pans, and dry goods can all have plenty of storage space in tall cabinets that reach the ceiling. Regalo Kitchens has a selection of tall cabinets that may be customized to enhance vertical storage while preserving a sleek and contemporary appearance.
2. Choose Smart Storage Solutions
Innovative storage solutions are essential for keeping a compact modular kitchen design organized and clutter-free. Look for features like pull-out shelves, corner carousels, and drawer organizers that make the most of available space. Regalo Kitchens' modular designs integrate clever storage solutions that enable homeowners to maximize every available space in their modular kitchen while maintaining easy access to essentials.
3. Embrace Multifunctional Furniture
In a small modular kitchen design, multifunctional furniture can help maximize utility without overcrowding the space. Think of adding a kitchen island with built-in seating and storage, or go with modular pieces that can be used as both a sink and a chopping station. Regalo Kitchens provides a range of adaptable modular pieces that may be customized to meet your unique requirements and space limitations.
4. Prioritize Workflow Efficiency
Efficient workflow is crucial in any kitchen, but it's especially important in compact spaces where every movement counts. Design your kitchen layout with the classic "work triangle" in mind, positioning the sink, stove, and refrigerator in close proximity to streamline meal preparation. Regalo Kitchens' expert designers can help you optimize your modular kitchen design layout for maximum efficiency, ensuring that your culinary workspace is both functional and ergonomic.
5. Emphasize Light and Bright Colors
Light hues can give the impression of visual space expansion and airiness in a tiny modular kitchen design. To maximize natural light and create the illusion of more space, use backsplashes, counters, and cabinetry that are white or light-colored. Additionally, strategically placed task lighting can brighten up work areas and enhance visibility while cooking. Regalo Kitchens offers a wide range of finishes and color options to suit every taste and style preference, allowing you to customize your kitchen to perfection.
6. Incorporate Clever Design Elements
Small modular kitchens require creative design solutions to make the most of limited space. Consider features like fold-down countertops, wall-mounted storage racks, and magnetic knife strips to maximize functionality without sacrificing style. The modular designs from Regalo Kitchens are expertly built to include cutting-edge design components that improve both form and function, making entertaining and cooking easy in even the tiniest of spaces.
7. Keep It Streamlined and Clutter-Free
Clutter can quickly overwhelm a small modular kitchen design, making it feel even more cramped and chaotic. To avoid clutter, remove superfluous items from counters and make smart storage investments. While maximizing available space, built-in organizers and concealed appliances can help retain a streamlined appearance. Regalo Kitchens' minimalist designs prioritize clean lines and uncluttered surfaces, creating a serene and inviting environment that inspires culinary creativity.
8. Personalize with Thoughtful Details
Even if it's little, your modular kitchen design should be a reflection of your tastes and style. Decorative elements like artwork, potted plants, and colorful linens give the room personality and coziness. Customizable features like cabinet hardware and backsplash tiles allow you to infuse your personality into the design while maintaining a cohesive look. Regalo Kitchens offers a range of customization options, allowing you to create a modular kitchen that truly feels like home.
Conclusion
Designing a modular kitchen design for compact spaces requires careful planning and attention to detail. Your kitchen can be made to be both elegant and useful while making the most of every square inch of available space if you prioritize workflow efficiency, embrace smart storage options, and optimize vertical space. Your little kitchen may become a gourmet haven that perfectly captures your own style and way of life with the help of Regalo Kitchens' creative designs and adaptable features.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. How can I make the most of limited countertop space in a compact kitchen?
Buy appliances that fit into cabinets, including slim-profile induction cooktops and under-counter microwaves, to make the most of the countertop area in a tiny modular kitchen design. Furthermore, adding pull-out or fold-down worktops can add more workspace as needed without taking up any important floor space.
2. What are some space-saving storage solutions for compact kitchens?
In addition to utilizing vertical space with tall cabinets, consider installing narrow pull-out pantry shelves, drawer organizers, and corner carousels to optimize storage capacity. Magnetic spice racks, hanging pot racks, and wall-mounted utensil holders can also free up valuable cabinet space while keeping frequently used items within easy reach.
3. How important is lighting in a small kitchen, and what are the best lighting options?
In order to improve a compact kitchen's use and aesthetic appeal, lighting is essential. To light work spaces and create a cozy and welcoming ambiance, use ambient, task, and accent lighting. Under-cabinet LED lights, pendant fixtures, and recessed lighting can all help brighten up the space and make it feel larger and more welcoming.
4. What are some clever design tricks for visually expanding a small kitchen?
Light colors, such as white or pale neutrals, can help visually expand a small modular kitchen design and create a sense of openness and airiness. Mirrored backsplashes, glass-front cabinet doors, and reflective surfaces can also bounce light around the room and make it appear larger. Additionally, minimizing visual clutter and keeping countertops clear can contribute to a more spacious feel.
5. How can I personalize my compact kitchen without overwhelming the space?
Add individual touches and decorative details, including vibrant textiles, artwork, and live plants, that express your own style and individuality. Select modifiable elements such as window coverings, backsplash tiles, and cabinet hardware to give the room personality and coziness without overwhelming its compact size. Remember to keep decorative elements cohesive and thoughtfully curated to maintain a sense of balance and harmony in your compact modular kitchen design.

Why should you use steel in crucial projects?
Steel, a metal with a wide range of possible applications, is available in many different "grades," or qualities, defined by the specific proportions of its constituent elements. In both domestic and commercial settings, mild steel seems to be the most cost-effective option. The versatility of mild steel makes it the most often used kind of steel. It's strong, durable, and weldable, plus it's magnetic.
Tumblr media
Metal rusts easily, but it may be kept from doing so by coating it with anything that will keep the surface from being directly affected by the elements, such as paint, grease, or oil. The industrial and everyday uses of mild steel are almost endless, from mild steel plates to car and motorbike frames to huge pipes. Whenever a large amount of metal is required, mild steel is the material of choice. Alloy steel flanges manufacturers in India are always willing to provide a hand.
Carbon steel.
Carbon steel, in this context, refers to steel that does not include any additional alloying elements. Depending on how much carbon is in them, we have ultra-high, high, medium, and low carbon steels. Weld neck flanges manufacturers in India has reasonable prices. To make steel strips or flat-rolled sheets for use in manufacturing vessels, automobiles, and a wide range of other products and constructions, all four variants are put to use. There are many different kinds of industrial uses for carbon steel pipe fittings. You can easily find a good astm a105 flange manufacturer.
Grade 316L Stainless Steel, Certified by the American Institute of Steel Analysis
The anti-corrosive properties of stainless steel make it an attractive material for a wide range of applications where a high standard of cleanliness and security is required. Cookware made of stainless steel, among other materials, is consequently a common fixture in modern home kitchens. Slip on flanges manufacturers in India are indeed fantastic. V-belt power transmission necessitates its usage, and this material is fashioned into sheaves to store the belts. Ingredients like nickel, chromium, and molybdenum are just a few of the many that go into making stainless steel. Stainless steel flanges manufacturers in India has been doing a great work for quite some time.
Austenitic, ferritic, martensitic, and duplex steel are the four most common kinds of stainless steel on the market. The features that make each type useful are different, as are the ways in which it is put to use. That's why you'll find them in everything from household goods to architectural facades to industrial pipes and containers to paper and pulp production, and much more besides. Stainless steel 304 flanges manufacturers in India can be contacted easily.
There seems to be a bright future for the manufacturing of steel, as the number of companies engaged in this industry continues to rise. As usual, you can count on assistance from stainless steel forged fittings manufacturer.
The tube inside the fitting is so strong that it will burst before the fitting shows any signs of leaking or movement. However, the thickness of the tube's walls does place certain restrictions on this. Astm a105 forged fittings have been proven excellent.

The Road Ahead
A/N: this is so late this is sO LATE I'M SO SORRY AUUUGH 😩😩 I'm just getting back on a medication regimen that works with me and I'm getting my motivation back. Chronologically this woulda happened in April, right after the discovery of the pregnancy
=
"You're kidding," Catherine deadpanned, standing almost frozen in her front doorway as she glared at her visitors.
"Uhh, nope," Sunnie laughed as Dio crowded over her protectively, his large hand placed on her lower abdomen as he flashed a smug grin, "Medical wing confirmed it this morning. I'm pregnant."
"I just returned from DC," Catherine said after a deep breath, "Just got my luggage in the door, just kissed my sweet, sweet husband hello for the first time in a week, and you two troublemakers show up on my doorstep giving me news like this??"
As she raised a hand to run it down her face, exasperated, Dio chuckled, teasing her. "Are you not going to invite us in, Catherine? Surely you're a better host than that."
"Yeah–yes. Yes of course," she huffed, standing to the side and welcoming the both of them. "Come on in. We've got some talking to do."
The Gupta's house was large—large enough to be a mansion, but the word 'mansion' wouldn't feel quite right: 'mansion' leaves the impression of something daunting and impersonal, and the Gupta house was far from those things. The reason their house was so big wasn't technically for them, however: the couple was childfree by choice, which confused the real estate agent as to why they wanted a large home with many rooms and a large backyard. Janpreet was one of the middle children of a family of eight siblings, and he had already amassed a gaggle of nieces and nephews and niblings, so they wanted a large property so they could host family functions and holidays and have enough room for all of them. The decor featured clean lines and bright colors, with patterned rugs and pieces from their multiple trips not only to India, but around the world as well. Neither Janpreet nor Catherine were believers in minimalism.
Janpreet Gupta was the embodiment of a doting stay-at-home husband. Noting his intense interest in the subject from a young age, his parents, who had immigrated to the States from India, taught Janpreet how to cook, and by God was he exceptional at it. The Gupta house, as a result, always smelled amazing: turmeric, garam masala, ginger, cinnamon, fenugreek, coriander, coconut—deep scents of roasted spices permeated their large house from the well-outfitted kitchen, which was filled with both top-of-the-line appliances and well-loved inherited woks and pots and pans. Catherine, who loved her husband dearly, made sure that the kitchen was one that Janpreet could indulge in his favorite hobby to his heart's content. Hanging on a peg near the walk-in pantry was an apron dorkily emblazoned with the words, "I love my girlboss wife".
And if you knew to look for it, there was a tiny, dirty scrap of paper with a hastily scribbled string of numbers framed on one of the counters in the kitchen. If asked about it, Janpreet would beam at you with his wide smile and round cheeks, saying, "That's my good luck charm!" He would then tell you about how he once, doing his best to conceal the nervous shaking of his hands, gave that very paper with his number on it to a certain stunningly gorgeous black woman who had walked into his parents' restaurant and immediately captivated him one rainy night years ago. Then he'd direct your attention to the framed photo next to it, of Janpreet beaming with that same wide smile, gazing lovingly at Catherine, a vision of beauty in golden jewelry and glistening gems and a red bridal lehenga. "It's a good luck charm that clearly works," he would inform you.
Janpreet glanced at that very scrap of paper as he crushed spices and ginger in his pestle, water boiling next to him, and he smiled.
Catherine, however, sat with the surprise guests in the living room, an unexpectedly heavy silence hanging over them. The only person who seemed affected by the weird atmosphere was Sunnie, who was wringing the bottom of her hoodie nervously. Dio sat next to her, arm swung over her shoulders happily, unphased by the awkwardness, and Catherine tapped her shoeless hose-covered foot against the rug as she gathered her thoughts.
"Dio, Sunnie, I'm not saying this is a bad thing. I'm actually quite happy for you both, and I know you'll make excellent parents, but…" Catherine leaned back in her chair, her sharp eyes looking at Sunnie, then Dio, then Sunnie again. "Dio is a vampire. He's not human."
"Don Giovanna turned out alright, from what I know," Sunnie piped up, "I mean, I didn't spend that much time with him, but he seemed incredibly healthy and, y'know, besides having a Stand and being the leader of Passione, normal."
Dio froze, brows drawing down over his eyes. It was something he hadn't considered: the likelihood that the child wouldn't be completely human, the possibility that this could make for a more difficult pregnancy for his wife. He looked at her, clearly worried, and she caught his gaze, slightly unsure herself, before Janpreet entered with a tray, cups of his homemade masala chai balanced perfectly, and cut through the increasingly tense atmosphere with a contagious smile.
"The Don was conceived and born before Prime had consumed Joestar blood and gained access to the full scope of his abilities," Catherine stated pointedly, as both Sunnie's and Dio's eyes widened, "We're entering unknown territory now. This child will be born half human and half fully-powered vampire."
"I'm sure that, no matter what challenges your pregnancy might bring you, you'll be well-taken care of," he said, setting the tray down on the coffee table and handing Catherine a cup and kissing her cheek. He passed Dio and Sunnie their cups as well, and they thanked him as he sat in the chair next to his wife. "You've got Dio, you've got us, you've got the entire Foundation at your back," he continued, "You'll be getting the best care imaginable."
Sunnie's shoulders slouched, tension leaving them in a rush as she slumped against Dio. "You're right, Jan. Every pregnancy is a risk, really. This one might be a little weird, but it's nothing I can't handle. I'm a tough bitch, after all." She took a drink of the chai and hummed contentedly, looking up at her husband. "If things go sideways, Dio's here. He's saved my life before."
"Let's have faith that it won't come to that," Dio chuckled, relaxing as well. He sipped from his cup and took a deep breath, feeling settled from his brief bout of worry.
As the conversation drifted on at a leisurely pace and the chai was nearly finished, Sunnie had relaxed to lay her head in her husband's lap at his behest ("The mother of my child needs to take it easy, it's quite late.") and Dio stroked a thumb across her neck affectionately. There was a lull between them, and Janpreet had taken Dio and Sunnie's empty cups to the kitchen to clean. Sunnie was the one to break the soft silence.
"We can't raise a kid underneath the Foundation, Dio," she sighed, rolling over to look up at him, "A kid needs space to run and play and get messy. A kid needs trees and a yard and adventure."
"I agree, dove," Dio smiled, lifting a hand and combing his fingers through her hair, "But you needn't worry. I have a feeling it'll all work out."
Catherine considered her two friends for a moment, then set her nearly empty cup down. "Honey," she called, "Doesn't Sameena have that creek-side property somewhere?"
"Oh!!" There was clanging from the kitchen as Janpreet set down something metallic and rushed back into the living room, grinning ear to ear and eyes sparkling as his slippers slid across the floor before he came to a stop. "Yes!! It's a big house. There's a gorgeous garden and lots of room, especially for a growing family!"
Sunnie turned her head to look at him, curious but confused. "You know someone who just like, has properties laying around?"
Janpreet nodded. "My younger sister! She likes to find beautiful houses that may be torn down for property development, then save and restore them until the right person or people come along!"
Dio chuckled. "That sounds like an expensive hobby."
"My brother-in-law is a very rich man," Janpreet said, sitting next to Catherine again, "And he loves his wife dearly, so he supports her hobbies, no matter how pricey they are."
Dio and Sunnie glanced at each other for a moment, both considering the possibility, before looking back at their friends.
"So, there's a creek near it?" Sunnie asked, a curious glimmer in her eyes.
"Yes, lots of trees and plants and in the back there's a small creek, I'm sure it looks beautiful this time of year," Janpreet said excitedly. "I think Sameena called it a, uh… 'a magical three-story Victorian gem from the late 1800s'." At that description, Dio seemed to perk up, his eyebrows raising in interest, and Janpreet continued. "She was very happy when she acquired it, said it has a fascinating history."
"Does it, now?" Dio hummed, picking Sunnie's head up in his hand to keep it from being jostled as he crossed one leg over the other before setting her back down. "So this house was built around the time I was human, I take it."
"From what we've heard, yes," Catherine smiled, "It's very much up your alley, Dio. And I know for sure that you'd love the area, Sunnie."
Sunnie immediately grinned wide like the Cheshire Cat, eyes lighting up impishly. "Being near a creek and having lots of foliage means it's got tons of critters. Frogs, toads, snakes… I'm down to check it out if you are, big guy."
"And I'd love to take a look at it if you would like, Sunshine," he returned her grin, then looked at Janpreet. "Does it have turrets, perhaps?"
"Turrets?" Janpreet blinked at him in confusion. "…Rotating machine guns?"
Catherine laughed and patted his shoulder. "No, honey, tower-like rooms with pointy roofs." Janpreet's eyes blew wide with realization as Dio and Sunnie snorted.
"Ooh! Oh yes, I think at least one, maybe two," Janpreet recounted, "She sent the pictures a while ago, so I don't think I have them on my phone anymore, but it looks sort of like a place a modern day vampire or witch would live. I think you two would love it."
"So, should we get in contact with your sister, or…?" Sunnie trailed off, and Janpreet shook his head.
"I'll contact her for you and see if the house is ready to be shown. I know she's done some updating on it—air conditioning, modernizing the electricity, the works. I'll let you know, but I can't imagine her not agreeing."
Another comfortable silence floated in the room as Dio's hand settled on Sunnie's stomach, gazing at her fondly. She smiled back up at him.
"Moving out of the suite'll be good for us, won't it?" She reached a hand up, cupping the strong, sharp line of his jaw softly. "It's about time we get out from under the Foundation."
"It certainly is, my love," he agreed, reaching his hand back up to cover hers, "This opportunity could be a good change for both of us."
Catherine took in the sight of the two of them together and couldn't help the warm, gleeful feeling blooming in her chest. Sometimes it felt like just yesterday that she introduced them: a wary, broken woman and a still-ferocious monster of a man, both of whom needed healing in their own way. She hadn't expected them to find that healing in each other, but the second she saw that spark between them she'd hoped it would lead to something amazing, and they had far surpassed anything she could have hoped for.
"Well," she said, standing, "It's been a long day of politics and travel for me and I need sleep. Would you two like to stay the night?"
Sunnie sat up and nodded, grabbing her backpack at the foot of the sofa. "That's probably a good idea. I'm the one who drove us and I'm pretty tired." Dio joined her when she also stood, his hand rubbing her upper back.
"We'll take the safe room, of course," he said, grateful that Catherine had installed blackout curtains in one of the bedrooms, "Thank you both for talking with us about this. I must admit that I didn't stop to consider certain… special aspects of the pregnancy, and I'm quite embarrassed about my short-sightedness on the matter."
"Oh nah, dude, I totally didn't think of it either. That shit absolutely slipped my mind," Sunnie laughed, "And I'm the one that's carrying this kid!"
"It's easy to get caught up in the moment," Janpreet chimed in, picking up Catherine's empty cup, "I know whenever I learn one of my siblings is expecting another kid, I lose it for a little bit! The excitement just makes you feel like you're buzzing."
"It really, really does!" Sunnie giggled before she was wracked by a full-body yawn. Catherine's lips drew up in a half-grin.
"Get some rest, you crazy kids," she said, shooing them off while Janpreet shuffled off to the kitchen to finish cleaning up. Dio nodded to her and began to guide his wife out of the room, and Catherine paused for a moment, chewing on her lip. "Sunnie, Dio," she stopped them before they turned the corner, and they looked back at her. "I really am truly happy for the both of you. I meant it when I said you'll both be amazing parents. Janpreet is right; you have the Foundation at your back, no matter what happens."
Sunnie took a deep breath, centering herself, clearly still comprehending the fact that she was pregnant, then gave her boss a rosy-cheeked smile. "Thanks, Cat. It means a lot."
Dio inclined his head to her. "Your support is priceless to us, my dear friend. You have my gratitude."
They bid Catherine goodnight and left, and she chuckled wryly to herself. "I'd better get godmother privileges for all the stuff they've put me through, honestly."

Clair de Lune
Summary: On a rather desolate and solitary evening, Kuja decides to see the stars, and is caught by surprise when he sees a shooting star. Will he make a wish? If so, what does he wish for?
Word Count: 1.3k
Tumblr media
All alone in an enormous, luxurious palace with only his solitude to keep him company, a man in deep concentration sat at an extravagant desk, writing with an elegant quill that was dipped in the finest of india ink. After finishing his last stanza, the man inscribed his alias at the bottom of the page, finishing another poem for quite simply, no one to read. Once he finished his fanciful signature, he gently placed the sharp, feathery quill in the bottle of ink, proceeding to get up from his desk. He felt entirely enervated to the point where he could fall asleep as soon as he rested his head on the immensely soft pillows he had—a blessing that never seemed to happen for the mysterious man—but the feeling of a desiccated throat prompted the poet to saunter downstairs for a glass of water.
He ambled outside of his sanctum, and walked down a long flight of stairs. He proceeded down the hallways of his grand palace, only to notice that the sun’s splendorous rays were not peering through the stained glass windows. It galvanized him to raise a well-trimmed eyebrow, not realizing how late the day had become. It only felt like he was writing for an hour or two. He wondered what hour the clock’s hands were on, but the thought subsided as he recalled that getting rid of his parched throat was the paramount objective.
He eventually arrived into the kitchen, and poured water into a glass cup, taking a few sips to quench his thirst. Once he was satisfied, he placed the cup down on a counter and thoughts of venomous, seething misery poisoned his once tranquil, tamed mind. There was an expression of sorrow displayed on his fair face as he aimlessly wandered around the rooms of the palace, not wanting to succumb to slumber yet. The idea of looking at the night sky waltzed right into his mind, and prompted him to exit his abode for a bit.
Once he stepped outside, he immediately felt the brisk, cool air breezing by, prickling his skin quite gently. He heaved a long sigh, the cold air feeling refreshing, yet frigid. He strode a bit farther from his home to catch a more clear view of the glittering, vast sky, and eventually found his Silver Dragon waiting patiently to take him wherever he desired. He approached the tame—yet massive creature, gently caressing the dragon’s head. The dragon responded kindly to the motion, leaning into Kuja’s hand. He then slowly let go of his pet, and boarded the mystical creature. And within a few minutes, all he could feel was the brisk, cool air, while his gaze was still fixated upon the wondrous sky.
The stars seemed to be a bit more clear now, as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. The night was a brilliant shade of splashing violets and blue hues, with sparkles adorning the sky, all having a different kind of brightness. It looked as though a talented artist had painted the sky with watercolors, and speckled many dots of white here and there. It truly was a masterpiece to behold, especially the stars that adorned the sky, all seemingly dancing to their own tune and creating their own melody. For an ephemeral moment, everything was peaceful. All of his woes vanished as he concentrated on the stars, figuring out their shapes. He soon found the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, a cluster of stars he remembered reading about in one of his books that resided in his enormous library. Nearby was the constellation of Orion, the hunter, pursuing the sisters the huntsman so very desperately wished to be with. Protecting the Pleiades was Taurus, the bull, and to the left of Orion was Canis Major, the constellation that had the honor of holding the brightest star in the entire galaxy - Sirius.
Then, out of the vast universe, a quick, yet brilliant streak of light raced past the other stars and disappeared, giving the weary stargazer a small shock, his star-struck eyes widening, as he remembered that this phenomenon was called a meteor, known as “shooting stars” to the inhabitants of Gaia. He reminisced to a time that took place long ago, his memory placing a repulsive creature right before him, costumed in black. It was the memory when he saw the phenomenon for the first time, asking his unsavory father what the “racing light” was; a question he soon later regretted asking.
“They are called meteors, Kuja. The brainless humans residing in Gaia are fond of calling them shooting stars, all the while making wishes upon the falling star, foolishly believing they will come true.” His father answered with such a candid and hostile tone, that the words managed to still echo across Kuja’s mind. He made it sound as though just a simple question was ignominious. “I find it pathetic. There are no such things as wishes—or miracles, for that matter, that come true in this universe.”
Kuja heaved another sigh, thinking of something to wish for if it even amounted to anything. He wondered if the wish even counted a couple of seconds after the star fell. But ultimately, he wished for a life filled with the wondrous flavors of an emotion he never seemed to harbor—happiness. He wished for a friend to laugh along with and for someone to understand him. He wished that he would have a life worth looking back upon, and for someone to tell him the simple, yet impactful words, “You’re not alone.” But at the same time, he wished his existence would have never come to be. Maybe if he never existed, his father wouldn’t have had to call him a failure. If he never woke up again from his tumultuous slumber, he wouldn’t have to resent each day drowning in the sea of his own solitude, constantly feeling inferior to others. It made his mind get corrupted with malicious thoughts thinking about the person who brought life to him.
He kept questioning himself why he even bothered complaining in the first place. He had all he needed and everything everyone ever dreamt about; a lavish palace, glimmering riches and the finest of jewelry. He owned the most beautiful of paintings framed with gold to accompany the walls, and statues holding candelabras to guide the way throughout his labyrinth of a palace. He possessed a whole library containing a life supply worth of books, and yet he constantly found himself drowning in his own sorrow, with no one on the other end to help pull him out of the sea of lament.
He soon forgot that he was looking at the glorious canvas of the glittering night sky, gazing at millions of gorgeous stars that failed to grasp his attention. A thought crossed his mind for a moment; perhaps it was the stars that offered to take his despair away. Perhaps the reason why they existed was to bring light to a person’s life, to give them a sense of relief, to guide the lost souls back home. Although there were plenty of scientific explanations that elucidated how stars were made, he pretended that all of that information did not exist for a little while. He rid all thoughts of his supposed “father”, all contemplations of the terribly painful week he had, and made himself focus on the story the moon, the stars, the nebulas, and the galaxies were trying to tell him. He felt… oddly at peace. All of the life-threatening thoughts plaguing his mind had silenced themselves, with only the wonders of the stars entrancing him. It was an eccentric and foreign sort of feeling; to have everything be silent for once, but he was content, to finally feel nothing but utter tranquility, with the glorious moon’s rays kissing his porcelain skin.
And in a way, his wish did get granted for a small fragment of time. He wasn’t alone, as the stars and the moon smiled down upon him, watching as he appreciated their celestial beauty, compelling him with the stories that they loved retelling; and casting a light in his darkened heart.
