#i don't know folks i listened through tortured poets department today and it simply did not resonate #certain lyrics did but i was not immediately enamoured as i was with midnights #the one song that smote me was i can do it with a broken heart though! that one def evoked an emotional response #i shall return to a handful of the ones i marked down but idk there's something jarring about this album #it feels like a lot of a lot and while the writing is as usual good there is a certain kind of word vomit quality to it that's un-taylor-li #like. or at least that i don't associate with her writing. the rhythm's a bit off #and the melody lines for many of the songs are really not as compelling as her past work

i have encountered a Problem with my bone collecting

most of the bones i collected previously have been small, from rodents or perhaps birds, even. i store them in jars and set them on my desk when i'm done cleaning them.

i am now in possession of Deer Leg Bones. which are. Significantly Larger. i cleaned them in a pot and a bucket but now i have taken them inside my house.

im telling yall ever since i found a recipe for homemade oral rehydration solution and started making it (+ shitty approximations of it), ive never felt so hydrated in my life & it's really helping with my POTS symptoms, in a way that just taking salt tablets and chugging water all day hasn't. it has to be the sugar that makes the difference because i've been dissolving salt tablets in my water for years!! but the sugar not only makes it taste less salty (thus making it more tolerable to drink more of it and more often), it helps with the water absorption to a degree i didn't realize it would. my body is actually absorbing water now when before it felt like it was passing straight through me with little to nothing being absorbed.

and as a fun little side bonus ive stopped getting cravings for sweet things nearly as often. it's gotta be hell on my teeth but i have soooo much more energy and i feel better than i have in years, even with the continued issues of mast cell symptoms and heat intolerance w/ no ac and black mold exposure.

the recipe i found comes from here, but for convenience I'll transcribe it here with metric equivalents:

1 quart of water (a little over 1 liter) 3/4 teaspoon table salt (equivalent to ~4.5 grams, I use 4 - 5 one gram salt tablets) 2 tablespoons sugar (about 25 grams)

and sometimes i like to add somewhere in the realm of 2 - 4 tablespoons of lemon juice to get some potassium in there (i eyeball it sorry)

or you can ignore the ratios completely and do whatever you want lol whatever gets u hydrated. but i want people to know that sugar helps with hydration!!! it's super important in metabolic processes!!

#lemon juice also cuts the sweetness and the saltiness and gives u lemon flavor! #cranberry juice also works flavor wise and u can use less sugar then bc of how much sugar is in cranberry juice already #or you can do the cranberry juice based recipe in the pdf #orange juice too but not as well bc it's less strong and still very sweet #the 1qt water bottle i was using started smelling musty and i couldn't get it clean properly (broken dishwasher) so i stopped for a bit #and the chronic fatigue got worse again #i start making it again in a 3 cup glass jar yesterday #boom fatigue goes away #i mess w the ratios often for the sake of convenience #pots syndrome #pots #disabled #disability #chronic fatigue #chronically ill #dysautonomia #hydration #stay hydrated

not going to say it on twt because i have more sensitive taylor mutuals there but i almost pity her a bit after listening to this album because it's so clear the overlap of her celebrity and relationship status actively regresses her as a person. it's like she doesn't know how to break out of what other people think of her and she doesn't know how to write about anything else nor is she capable of realizing how much it contributes to her own infantilization despite the fact that she's in her mid-30s. the thing about folklore and evermore in comparison is that they were very obv curations borne out of isolation (covid. duh) and a lack of interaction with the greater world so while the immaturity was still there (because it will always be there) there was also somewhat a sense of sincerity. and i don't really see that in midnights or in ttpd because overwhelmingly she is still navigating celebrity and her love life the way she has for the last several years and frankly that is no way to live. like i have no investment in her relationship with the football player and frankly they remind me of every couple i knew out of high school—i live in a small town populated mostly by white republicans many of whom have children who attend the same one high school they went to as children—but i almost hope it works out for her because if she continues to live in this constant state of crying over breakups she's never really going to mature as an artist let alone as a person

#there is one song in particular - i can do it with a broken heart - that is so ridiculously jarring #like you cannot believe a thirty four year old woman is singing it it's almost sad to think about #she is so ridiculously immature and clearly committed to it as a coping mechanism and like aside from her being a billionaire #and all billionaires being some form of scum in one way or another #aside from that. i genuinely hope she heals. like for her own sake. she should go totally cold turkey one day and live in the woods #i genuinely think it would help her be normal #to be deleted
