IT. IS. DONE.
More under the cut...

Sorry for the lack of progress updates. There was an... "incident"... a few weeks back when I tried to attach the roof the first time. Something was a single stud off and it resulted in tragedy. I had to disassemble back about 150 steps and start over from the floor of the main hall. Then my back was irritated and I couldn't do much. But yesterday and today I put pedal to metal and busted out the remainder! I got as far as Helm's Deep in the original trilogy extended editions (probably would have finished both trilogies and then some, but there were quite a few times I was building but couldn't watch). Pic first of "the incident." Then some fun character shots of the main building.

The lack of nuance around Maedhros and especially Maglor when it comes to Elrond and Elros makes me want to tear my hair out.
It could be argued that the twins were with the Feanorians for as little as five years (from the Third Kinslaying to the start of the War of Wrath). The Feanorian forces absolutely wiped out the Havens of Sirion and forced Elwing to abandon her sons or face certain death. Everyone and everything Elrond and Elros had ever known was burned to the ground by Maedhros and Maglor and those who followed them.
The Feanorians are multi-faceted characters and so it’s incredibly frustrating to see no complex interpretation of their relationship with Elrond and Elros beyond assuming they became a “family”.

"Suddenly into view below came a white horse, gleaming in the shadows, running swiftly. In the dusk its headstall flickered and flashed, as if it were studded with gems like living stars. The rider's cloak streamed behind him, and his hood was thrown back; his golden hair flowed shimmering in the wind of his speed. To Frodo it appeared that a white light was shining through the form and raiment of the rider, as if through a thin veil."
GLORFINDEL!!!!
This took a whole two days because horses are difficult to draw (this pose was copied directly from a reference to save time) but here is the golden boy at last :)
Actually I have a few thoughts about Glorfindel and how Conspicuously Not Hidden he is. Others have pointed out before how he doesn't need to go in secret because of who he is, hence the bells and sparkles, but I would actually add to that and say that not only is he so powerful that he doesn't need to hide from the Nazgul, he is purposefully declaring himself to the Nazgul as a threat.
Think about it; he's riding openly on the Road (which he was specifically assigned to, despite it being the most obviously dangerous path, which I think says a lot about Elrond's faith in his abilities) on a bright white horse will bells and (probably) gems on its harness and his hood thrown back to expose his very blond, very famous hair. Sure, he's looking for the hobbits along the Road, but by riding along it he's also letting the Nazgul know that it's under the protection of Glorfindel, reincarnated Balrog-slayer and hero of the First Age, and they probably don't want to get in his way.
I'm not sure if that was coherent at all but tldr Glorfindel is really cool and probably doing the elvish equivalent of telling the Nazgul to 'come at me bro'. Also I love him a lot <3

I decided to watch Rings of Power and I still like it! General thoughts on the first episode:
This episode does a lot of heavy lifting to introduce everything in a somewhat rough and often disconnected, but engaging enough way.
The voice-over exposition at the beginning is obviously echoing the PJ FOTR one, but it's more awkward and sort of generically high fantasy. I still like it better because a) no Númenóreans were harmed in the making of this voice-over, b) retaining the Finrod-Galadriel age gap while simultaneously leaning into their sibling bond is really cute, c) Finrod using a heavy-handed metaphor in which the greatness of SHIPS figures largely seems entirely in character and also very Telerin (Eärwen's son!!!), and d) the overall story of how Valinorean Elves ended up in Middle-earth is so highly editorialized that it feels like the self-serving Noldor version of the story, which amuses me.
I enjoyed the introduction of present-day Galadriel. She's clearly the most impressive and competent person in the company she's leading while also being kind of unhinged, which I appreciate in a female protagonist. Good for her.
And I like that she's clearly this ancient being and her fixation on FIGHTING EVIL FOREVER is, in part, a product of being old and immortal and stuck in a singular mode of being. However, she's also right and the comparatively young people around her are being condescending assholes (like Gil-galad, but especially that one guy who semi-mutinied against her and is prodding her on the ship).
(Oh, and she has great hair. I actually don't care if the entire wig budget went to her specifically.)
The only one who seems to really feel bad about their dismissive treatment of her is Elrond, which tracks. The hints that he isn't seen as quite an equal ("Elf-lords only") feels silly, but it's not a huge deal for me. And I like that he and Galadriel are bros alongside the tension in her relationships with basically everyone. S2 Celebrían plssss
I still think the complaints about costuming/hair, and incessant comparisons to costuming in PJ!LOTR/WOT/whatever are largely pretty absurd. I particularly liked Arondir's armor and how dissimilar it is from the aesthetic of the Lindon Elves, everything Galadriel wears, and the weirdness of the ritualistic armor removal as they approach Valinor. The Elves spontaneously bursting into unsettling song was odd but extremely on-brand for Tolkien, so it was fun to see it actually done onscreen.
I also think the show is quite beautiful in general and a pleasure to simply look at (no, not only because of the budget).
I don't like how heavily and visibly made-up the main female characters are, however, especially Bronwyn (who also has my least favorite costuming of any of the mains tbh). It reminds me a bit of how Padmé Amidala's heavy and perfect make-up in her death scene in Revenge of the Sith always distracts me from the pathos of the scene. God forbid she wasn't hot as she died, you know? I don't care about middle-aged and older men being cast as Elves, but I'd like to see more older actresses, too!
The Harfoot stuff has an interesting mixture of cuteness and underlying menace. It doesn't interest me as much as what's going on with Galadriel, Elrond, and Arondir/Bronwyn, but I like Nori quite a bit and the whole aesthetic they have going, so I don't mind spending time with them, even though it's kind of detached from what's going on everywhere else.
Speaking of Arondir, the Southlands stuff is interesting because there's so little to work with in terms of canon (even if they had rights to everything) and the canon that does exist wrt them is super racist. So having the textual racism towards Southrons actually be brought up in-story, and rejected by an Elf protagonist who is being played by a Black man, is like ... there's a lot going on there and other people are probably better equipped to talk about it.
Personally, I would have liked to see Arondir fall in love with Bronwyn rather than being presented with it as an established thing, especially with the conversation about how this almost never happens etc. His actor does a great job with what he's given, though, and I laughed at the other Elf who is like "do you know how rarely romances between Men and Elves ever happen? do you know they always END TRAGICALLY?!"
Arondir: mmhmm
Other Elf: THEY DIED, ARONDIR
Arondir gives off big "distracted by drawing hearts around Bronwyn's name in his Trapper Keeper" vibes in that conversation and, idk, it was just really entertaining to me.
Bronwyn herself is all right thus far. I did really like the moment when she's talking about how she's from the allegedly creepy village and the people there are her relatives and friends. By and large she seems the most normal person in the cast, honestly.
I also enjoyed how deeply ominous the "approaching Valinor" music was, lmao. A bit overkill by the end, but I rather like the idea of Valinor being scary if you're not supposed to be there.
ETA: cutting between the different plots via the Middle-earth map is a bit silly as well, but functional enough. Interesting to see Calenardhon on the map before Gondor even exists!

Some blurbs about Silm headcanon and interpretations that I DON'T enjoy.
I mean, why bother talking about stuff I don't like? But here's some random hump day chit chat. These are just my preferences so I hope people can just fun-read this.
Feanorians forcefully taking the twins: Technically, they end up taking Elrond&Elros away from their people, but I personally don't enjoy the interpretation/characterization of murder bros cruelly/violently taking the kids. My personal interpretation is that Maedhros and Maglor didn't mean to take the kids, but by the time they were done in Sirion, everyone--including their remaining brothers--was dead and Elwing was gone with the Silmaril. So the brothers took the twins as a sort of selfish/twisted repentance. They remember what happened to Elured and Elurin back in Doriath, so maybe that played into their decision. Though their act in the end is as noble as someone running a mother cat over and adopting the kittens, I don't think the two brothers stooped so low as to actually rip away the children from their mother or use them as bargaining chips.
Elwing vs. Feanorians/good vs. evil trope: I don't really find pure, innocent Elwing against evil Feanorians trope that interesting personally. I also don't enjoy Elwing the tragic holy mother characterization. While I don't think she's "bad" for "choosing Silmaril over her kids," I don't think she's a kind of loving, tragic mother either. I always enjoyed portrayals of "less than perfect" moms Tolkien's texts. Elwing loved her kids, but her husband likely mattered to her more. She likes having a family with him, but if she had to choose between being with her husband or her kids, she would probably choose the former. She chooses to stay with her husband after Ulmo turns her into a bird, and Earendil basically chooses Elven fate over Men's fate for her sake. I think for Elwing, who had a pretty depressing life, Earendil was her hope and light, and nobody could take his role, even her own sons. Anyway, I really enjoy seeing women who are not "my kids are my everything" once in a while. As an extension of this, I don't enjoy Elwing bickering with Feanorians and all that drama either.
Maglor being an innocent victim in the final act: I don't think Maglor was an unwilling victim/participant when he and Maedhros went to steal the Silmarils nor was he ever a victim in any of the kinslayings. He probably didn't enjoy any of it, but he knew he couldn't escape the Oath alone so he decided to just face it. He knew what was coming, but he didn't want to leave his brother alone or betray him. So he joins in knowing this would only end badly. Btw I think Maedhros is the type to unalive himself when he's faced with overwhelming tragedy/guilt, but Maglor is the type to live forever in misery because he thinks he deserves an eternity of punishment.

For anyone who's into LOTR I am rereading (again) and took notes on the weirdest/most interesting bits this time:
There are/were other magic rings beside the main ones, which is part of what makes it so hard for other characters to believe that Bilbo's ring is actually The ring
At one point Tolkien jumps into the POV of a random fox walking by our protagonists' camp and then never brings it up again, no big deal
The ever-controversial Tom Bombadil has several other names we just never talk about? And the elves (at least in Rivendell) know about him and have known about him for many years now
They also consider giving him the ring but ultimately decide it would be a bad idea because "he'd probably just lose it"
A lot of what happens to Frodo after he's been stabbed by the Nazgul is less symptomatic of dark magic and more of just...having a severe shoulder injury?? Like "oh no my hand is numb and I'm weak and can't move it, must be the evils of Mordor" bro you probably just have nerve damage and blood loss
Bilbo straight up writes and sings a song about Elrond's dad in front of him and a bunch of other elves in Rivendell like. The audacity.
There's a river called "Wetwang" (yes it's called Nindalf in Elvish, but that's not important here)
Aragorn never tells anyone else that Boromir admitted to trying to take the ring, it's implied he even keeps it secret from Gandalf once he reappears
The "Two Towers" actually refers to Orthanc and Minas Morgal, not Orthanc and Barad-Dur as the films suggest
Eomer has met and possibly was friendly with Boromir
Also Aragorn, who doesn't look that old, straight up tells Eomer he'd met both his father and Theoden when they were younger and he just...has zero reaction?? Like if a guy who looked not much older than me wisely said "ah yes, I met your father and uncle long ago" in a way that implied they'd worked together as somewhat equals I'd be. A little uncertain to say the least.
Oh and he also hung out with Denethor back in the day
Eomer and Gimli have a running disagreement on whether or not Galadriel is real, and if so, how hot she is
This is common ish knowledge but there are elements of actual Old English embedded into Rohan's worldbuilding (esp. the names/ "Rohrric" language) and the whole location is genuinely just Tolkien's fantasy version of Anglo-Saxon Britain. He is very not subtle about it.
Saruman was FULLY RUNNING DRUGS BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE SHIRE AND ISENGARD
And this actually ends up contributing to a main plot in the third book
Instead of the Palantir falling out of Saruman's pocket when he dies like in the movie, Gandalf shoots a spell at Saruman and makes him run back inside Orthanc and Wormtongue chucks the Palantir down at him from the window in retaliation
I know the potato scene is *iconic* but let's be real the fact that Sam risks a fire and takes the time to make a full rabbit stew plus seasoning while they're on a dangerous secret mission to sneak into the Darkest Of Dark Lords' fortress is kind of hilarious
Minas Morgul is some serious eldritch horror cryptid shit
Denethor is honestly such drama queen. Like I know he's supposed to be a threatening and tragic character but holy shit.
Also the entire houses of healing segment is unintentionally comedic
Like between the old lady who runs the house giving absolutely zero fucks, and the herb master and Aragorn having a mini nerd off about what Athelas/Kingsfoil is called in different languages, and also Aragorn and Pippin roasting Merry - who has JUST woken up from an Evil Coma by the way - about not being able to find his weed
"This weed is better than I thought" -- actual quote by Ioreth re: kingsfoil
This is something I noticed that a lot of people don't mention - the "Evenstar" that Arwen gives Aragorn in the movies that's tied to her lifeforce/immortality isn't really a thing in the books. The closest to it is this green brooch that she gives him via Galadriel in FOTR - but the only necklace she gives to anyone is actually to Frodo, as a token that basically means if he ever wants to go to the Grey Havens (as he ultimately does) he'd essentially be taking her place because she isn't going
Ok the scouring of the Shire is pretty common knowledge but are we going to talk about Lotho Sackville-Baggins became Saruman's dealer and helped smuggle drugs pipeweed into Isengard (see I told you it would come back)
Also!! Lotho was possibly EATEN by Grima Wormtongue, or at the very least Saruman believes he was, yes this is an actual canon thing
Legit quote from ROTK: "Worm killed your Chief, poor little fellow, your nice little Boss. Didn't you, Worm? Stabbed him in his sleep, I believe. Buried him, I hope; though Worm has been very hungry lately[]"
Seriously what the fuck
Saruman is killed by Wormtongue (who is then shot by a bunch of Hobbit archers) and promptly....disintegrates?
Anyway if you're a casual fan who's only seen the movies, or if you haven't read the books in a while, I'd highly recommend.

TH fic idea No. 2 (yes I have a weakness for MGiME sue me):
OFC used to pray to the Valar during her life (not believing in them at all but using them like a kind of spoken diary, reasoning that everyone is allowed to pick their own gods & they are just as likely to be real as the Christian one for example).
Then she dies.
And wakes up in Valinor meeting those of the Valar She has prayed to the most.
And they're like "well no idea what to do with you tbh guess you're one of ours now do you want cookies or sth?"
And she is like "bro are you for real this is brilliant I want to learn this and that and also..... "
And she hangs out with Yavannah and Oröme and Vana but mainly Aulë cus, yk, dwarves.
And he is like "sooo do you wanna join the halls of waiting?"
And she's like "idk lemme take a look" and there is Fili/Kili/Thorin whoever you prefer, hammering away at an anvil, and she's like NOOOOO fuck they already ded? Boooooh!"
And Mahal's like "yeah he's got trouble settling, feeling like he did not accomplish what he was supposed to" and she's like "well MAYBE that's because thats the TRUTH?!?!"
And the dwarves cannot really see her, she's more like a spectre with a distorted face merging with her background and a voice, but Fili/Kili/Thorin noticed her when she at one point breaks something in his forge while arguing with Mahal about how they deserve a second chance and while Fili/Kili/Thorin listen to how Mahal goes on about "we cannot disturb the music" she shouts "this music sucks anyway atm! Wouldn't hurt to change it! It's CLEAR some tunes are missing!"
And Mahal's like"wdym you HEAR the music?"
And she's like "well, yeah? And lemme tell you it can give ya a real headache at times."
Then she leaves saying that she's gonna bully Eru to give the Durins a second chance and Fili/Kili/Thorin, Who has been listening to that conversation, are like "ehem, Mahal, dear creator, am I high?" And he shortly explains about who the other voice was.
Well after some time OFC gets Eru to agree, and they take weeks to argue about the particularities and Option A is they end up with Fili/Kili/Thorin, Who has listened and therefor knows about what she's up to, to keep his memories of the quest while being sent back, but CANNOT disclose what he knows or how. Or something something bad will happen.
And OFC is like on the one hand "nice, hot dwarves and heroics" but then there are also orcs, the ring, no plumbing.... But whatever she'll make the best out of it.
So OFC argues that that's kinda harsh and convinces Dru to let her join them.
Option B and Eru's growing tired of her and is like "you know what? You can hear if the music starts to fuck up. You go down there as well! Be their personal Gandalf or whatever!" And the chosen Durin remembers os doesn't, or maybe just some vague stuff in dreams, I don't really care. But with this option there is nothing stopping them from sharing their knowledge.
She arrives quite literally at Gandalf's feet, explains stuff to him, and their first order of business is meeting up with Galadriel, Elrond and Glorfindel (she refuses to explain yet while she does NOT want Saruman involved, unsure if he ends up joining anyway no matter what she wants) and insists on freeing Thrain from Dol Goldur ASAP (using mostly book canon for this fic obv) so she has someone that can prove her story and give her some connections & shit.
OFC, with her fighting experience being drunk arm wrestling and nothing more, remains behind in Eryn Lasgalen while Legolas joins the aforementioned group in driving out Sauron.
Thrain is first treated in the Woodland Realm for the worst injuries, and during that time talks Some Shit through with Thranduil because, yk, they'll need him and his army later on.
Then they move to Rivendell, where Thrain heals and OFC gets SOME training (no, NOT Mary-Sue-ish, it takes YEARS to become properly adept at fighting, she has a few WEEKS, meaning she manages not to drop her sword any longer and shoot in the planned direction but THAT'S IT), then she has some kind of fight with Someone and leaves with some rangers for Ered Luin, Gandalf promising to deliver Thrain to his family as soon as he's fully healed.
OFC has been turned into a dwarf btw, INCLUDING the beard! In Ered Luin she finds a job at a tavern for starters and waits for either Thrain's arrival or Fili/Kili/Thorin to 'remember' (meaning his consciousness being sent back in time), because OFC herself arrived about a year before the start of the quest.
At one point, Fili/Kili/Thorin being regulars at her tavern, she recognises a change in their demeanor and introduces herself as *****(whatever name she had in Valinor) and they get to talking, F/K/T being SO glad to FINALLY having someone to talk about what happened.
They start hashing out the beginnings of a plan, but have to be careful for now so as to no one else picks up on their knowledge. OFC promises that *someone* (she totally is mysterious on purpose) will soon show up and help in that department.
One night, Gandalf arrives with Thrain, Thorin cries, Dìs faints, Fili & Kili get drinks ( and someone of course gets OFC) and joined by Balin & Dwalin the family celebrates and learns about Thrain & OFC's knowledge and they begin to form A Plan TM.
And then, there is plot I have no idea for.

More Reading Thoughts: The Epilogue, Version Two
Like all good writers, Tolkien couldn’t quite make up his mind how he wanted to write this part. Once again tagging @lady-merian and thanking her for her patience X-D
Jirt’s Text
“…with many pauses for thought he was writing in his slow round hand…” I chose to believe this refers not only to the printed script but to the actual hand that’s writing it X-P
*Smash Bros title screen* Primrose joins the battle!
It’s Elanor’s birthday :-D
Elanor has red-gold hair confirmed
SHE CALLS HIM SAM-DAAAAAAD TTuTT
AND WALKS UP AND HUGS HIM AS HE WRITES
Sam: Only you have heard the whole Book more than once. Elanor, being Very Precise: Three times.
Hello yes Elanor is adorbs and I love her
Mirkwood is called Greenwood now!
MERRY WENT TO VISIT EOWYN IN HER WHITE HOUSE
MERRY GOT TO HANG OUT WITH EOWYN AND BERGIL AGAIN I AM LIVING
MERRY SR. IS GONNA GIVE MERRY JR. A PONY FROM ROHAN
I WILL ACTUALLY CRY
Sam, sighing: “These questions and answers aren’t fit to go in a book like that. :-(” Meanwhile, Sam, literally in a book:
BOOKCEPTION
“Mr. Meriadoc might help me. He’s clever at writing, and he’s making a splendid book all about plants.” Confirmed: Merry is an herb nerd and I would die for him
Sam still says Elanor is just as pretty if not prettier than her flower, and she’s still like “okay Dad” LOL
“Though it’s over, as we say, things don’t really end sharp like that.” Way to elbow the readers for criticizing your 13,594 endings, Tolkien
“I think it was very sad for him. And for you, Sam-dad. For your treasure went too.” HI HELLO YES OKAY IT IS FRODO TIME
YOUR TREASURE holy honey-nut feelios i die
“It was sad, Elanorellë. It was, but isn’t now.” (Tolkien I see you but I’m still gonna write angst and you can’t stop me ‘cause you’re dead)
Sam takes comfort in the fact that Frodo got his reward, and he himself got abundant reward as well. “I am a very rich hobbit.” And one more thing:
“Before he went Mr. Frodo said that my time maybe would come. I can wait. I think maybe we haven’t said farewell for good. But I can wait.”
*SCREAMS INTO A PILLOW*
WAIT. ELANOR WANTS TO GO WITH HIM. “I shall not part with you, like Arwen did with Elrond.”
HOLY PRECISION SHOT TO THE DAD-FEELS, BATMAN
Okay okay okay if you don’t have this book, you’re not gonna believe me, but I swear this is a 100% verbatim quote:
Elanor: Good night, Sam-dad. But… Sam: I don’t want good night but.
I freakin’ love Lord of the Rings 🤣
Elanor “spied” and saw Sam receive the scroll from the King! Just like the Conspirators spied on Frodo and the Ring! And Sam goes “well that’s karma if I’ve ever seen it” LOL
Okay so he went with the Fullwise name here
Elanor: When should we get ready? What will we wear? HOW MANY CURTSIES SHOULD I DO??
Sam: You wanna see elves, kid? You’re gonna see elves. Elanor: 🤩
Sam thinks the fire burns lower when Elanor leaves ;u;
This is the second time Tolkien makes fun of the hobbits praising the predictable clear weather at the end of March as “something unusual for the season”, which tells me he was very fond of that joke
Yay! He went with the singing version! X-D
And still ends with the sounds of the Sea. ✨Foreshadowing✨
Christopher’s Notes
Okay Tolkien’s “resumé” of the end of the book here gives some fascinating insights
“But Frodo cannot be healed. For the preservation of the Shire he has sacrificed himself, even in health, and has no heart to enjoy it. Sam has to choose between love of master and of wife. In the end he goes with Frodo on a last journey.”
He sacrificed himself…but has no heart to enjoy it… :-C TT~TT
“To Bilbo and Frodo the special Grace is granted to go with the elves they loved – an Arthurian ending, in which it is, of course, not made explicit whether this is an ‘allegory’ of death, or a mode of healing and restoration leading to a return.”
No wonder the ending is so haunting. Is it death? Is it healing? It’s both, and it’s neither, and it’s incredibly mythical and storybook-ish. Holy cow.
Also thought this was funny:
“Hobbit-children were delightful, but I am afraid that the only glimpses of them in this book are found at the beginning of vol. I. An epilogue giving a further glimpse (though of a rather exceptional family) has been so universally condemned that I shall not insert it. One must stop somewhere.” Tolkien really be like #I’mNotBitter lol

Tolkien elves and who they trauma dump on
Finwe - His whole family but mostly Indis.
Ingwe - Doesn’t trauma dump. Manwe can tell when he needs to talk about his feelings though and offers to be his moral support.
Thingol - Melian.
Cirdan - Doesn’t trauma dump but managed just fine.
Miriel - Mandos and Vaire are her go too Valar if she needs to talk about her feelings but she rarely does.
Indis - Tries to avoid trauma dumping but she needs to every once in a while and uncle Ingwe is always there for her.
Feanor - Nerdanel and sometimes Mahtan. He refuses to talk about his feelings with the Valar. Manwe & Namo tried though. Nienna almost succeeded. In Mandos he trauma dumps on Finwe, like he should have a long time ago because no one else can get him open up about his feelings.
Nerdanel - Her dad.
Findis - Avoids trauma dumping but she goes to her mom when she needs too.
Fingolfin - His mom but after he goes to middle earth it’s Irime.
Irime - Fingolfin because he was her best friend from the start. She knew Indis was more reliable but thought her mom had enough to worry about already.
Finarfin - Doesn’t ever trauma dump but he’s always open about his feelings, including the negative ones, with Earwen, as is she with him.
Maedhros - Never had the need to trauma dump when he was in Valinor. In middle earth probably Maglor. I can’t see it being Fingon because the last time he got Fingon involved in his troubles, he turned Fingon into a kinslayer and I bet he felt very guilty about it.
Maglor - Maedhros, a very bad choice given how traumatized his elder bro is but M&M are clearly super codependent.
Celegorm - In Valinor, Orome. In Middle Earth, Huan and Maedhros. After Huan leaves him, no one because he doesn’t get along with Maedhros anymore and no way is he willing to push his feelings on his little brothers. (I think he always tried to be a dependable big bro to his little sibs because he looked up to Maedhros when he was younger and Maedhros was always a dependable big bro to him.)
Caranthir - He doesn’t trauma dump and he doesn’t have to. He does have trauma but he deals with it in healthy ways. Like screaming in his soundproof room.
Curufin - Feanor, back when Feanor was alive. It was not helpful since his dad was the most traumatized elf alive at that point. After Feanor dies, he goes to Mae & Mags. He never actually listens to their suggestions though.
Amrod & Amras - Each other. Who else?
Fingon - Fingolfin back when he was alive.
Turgon - Doesn’t ever talk about his feelings but it worked out for him because Glorfindel always knows what he’s feeling.
Glorfindel - Open about his feelings with everyone he’s close to.
Idril - Tuor.
Maeglin - Thanks to his dad and latter Turgon, he didn’t realize it was okay to talk about your feelings. Also if anyone knew about his feelings, they would be ultra judgmental.
Aredhel - Fingolfin. Later Turgon, who isn’t a great choice but she lives with him so her options are limited.
Luthien - Beren.
Finrod - His parents in Valinor. In middle earth, it’s Beor for a bit. After that, no one because he doesn’t have any more trauma to dump.
Angrod - His bros. Maybe his wife.
Aegnor - Finrod and Angrod.
Galadriel - Finrod, but she quickly grows out of the need of having to trauma dump.
Celeborn - His wife.
Celebrimbor - After he ditched his dad, probably Galadriel and Celeborn. Later Sauron, but that didn’t work out did it?
Gil-Galad - Cirdan. His true dad. (Not by blood since he’s Finwean obviously, but he did raise him.)
Finduilas - Her dad.
Orodreth - Whatever elder family member is emotionally available at the moment. It’s been Finrod, his parents, and Finarfin at some point.
Earendil - Elwing.
Elwing - Earendil.
Elros - Elrond.
Elrond - Elros initially but stopped trauma dumping after his twin died. Fortunately, it’s okay because Glorfindel knows what he’s feeling and knows how to help.
Celebrian - Her mom. Probably uncle Finrod in Valinor.
Thranduil - Doesn’t trauma dump. Oropher’s death probably traumatized him but I don’t think he had the chance to talk about his feelings being a king and all. Somehow he was able to overcome his grief though. (Maybe the birth of Legolas?)
Legolas - Gimli.

This is just me rambling about the lotr musical I just saw spoilers for the watermill theatre production of lotr!!
In no particular order
HOLYMOLY THAT WAS SO GOOD ARRGGRGReatsit
First off I was expecting a new musical (for context there was another musical first performed in 2006 I think) BUT IT WASNT at least the songs weren't I'm not sure about the script since its insanely hard to find anything on it APART from the songs, they can be found online even on Spotify! Point is I thought it was a new one BUT THEN THEY STARTED PLAYING ROAD GOES ON AND MY ASS FELL OFF ISTG Seeing that og musical has been a DREAAAM OF MINE BUT THEY DON'T PLAY IT ANYMORE OR SO I THOOOOOUUUGHT
The music is insane actually it's so good!!!
When I saw the elves and realised they wouldn't have long hair unless the actor already did I was a little nervous since I just find its difficult to portray elves without the iconic long hair BUT MY GOD THEY'RE GOOD I don't know what these guys did compaired to the short hair elves of lotr prime BUT IT WOOOORKS legolas was perfect and GALADRIEL the actress has stage presence if I've ever seen it!!! She had this for lack of a better word fuck ass bob with a gold wreath thing and a PANT SUIT SHE'S MENTAL I LOVE HER!!!
Her voice is insane there was a moment where a group of people all sang together and they seemed to be singing at the usual stage level right but here voice just boomed iver the whole group it was amazing! She was so loud but she did it well!! I find often when people sing that loud it's like shouting but not in a good way, she was SINGING it was beautiful. She captured galadriels aura and power so well every time she was on stage I just wanted to stare at her.
aragorn was so GOOOOD he also sounded a lot like Orlando bloom to me lmao. His outfit was actually perfection and his haircut??? HE HAD this shaved sides thing going on and???!?!?! I THINK I LIKE IT MORE THAN MOVIE ARAGORN DARE I SAY???
Don't even get started on arwen dude. THE COSTUME DESINERS DID AMAZING WITH HER DRESS AND THE ACTRESS CAPTURED HER SO WELL her ethereal feel with a slight bit of young wonderUUuGGHHhHh screams. Her voice is also actually insane I'm chewing bark.
Frodo was done so wellLLLLLLL the moments when he got taken over by the ring were so distinctly not Frodo!! The actor switched between the two moments so flawlessly!! It was like he was playing two people.
AND SAAAm what a sweetheart he is he's perfect in every way can do no wrong ever ever!! His voice was so pretty I'm gonna goble him up for real. Also I think he got slapped in the face?!? I couldn't see it perfectly but that slam sounded very real with the noise so I wouldn't be shocked. Dedication woa.
GIIIMLI meow meow meow he's so good bald king<<<3333 HIS OUTFIT?? punch me in the face please thanks. Bro his face when legolas was being sassy to him MF said >:000 I LOVE HIS PORTRAAAAAAIIIL UGggghhhHHH he's perfect in every way everyone stay back from my bald king RAAAA
Boromir my pookie gone too soon <333 his outfit was so good his actor was so good EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD UUUGH Meow when he held frodo wrists to get him to stay I was like 🤨🤨🤨🤨😏😏😏 LOTR MUSICAL IS JUST FULL OF HOT PEOPLE
OMGOD GANDALF UUUGH HE WAS AMAZING idk why I thought he's be played by a younger guy in makeup?? Getting an actually older actor makes way more sense and HE WAS AMAZING
Saruman, elrond and golem were all played by this one guy and it was so good?? You could tell visually like his face that it was all him but he differentiates the characters SOOO well!! Bald elrond will haunt my dreams though..
MERRY AND PIPPIN UUUGHGHHG I love I love they made a tiny tweak to pip which was that since he was played by a lovely actress pip was referred to as a girl, but it was done very well! Nothing about the character changed, personality, story beats, outfit, everything was still pippin the only difference was a few she's here and there which is very much how this thing should be done :)) if you do need to or want to switch and characters gender it's good to keep them the same in other aspects otherwise they just come across as a new character with a familiar name! But that didn't happen here at all, the actress portrayed pip amazingly
Merry was also so good! His voice was amazing and he was so charming!
THE OOOORCS they were amazing. They were so unsettling!! I wasn't sure how they were going to play them but they had this gassmask type thing on it was so good! Everytime they came in I was excited to see them.
The way they did the nazgul was so fun. They were these skeleton horse head puppets!! They opened their mouths so wide it was really unsettling!!
AND THE SPIIIIDERRR everyone gasped when the spider came on. They opened these big doors in the back of the theatre right and she didn't even walk on she was right there! She was huge. She's this big puppet maned by like it's gotta be six or seven people SHE WAS AMAZING
AND OH OH OH THE FIRST AND LAST SCENES WERE OUTSIDE bilbos party was out in the garden!! We all got to sit around and the hobbit came and spoke to us all like we were invited to the party! Bilbo came out and asked me if I had eaten today if was great!! Speaking of which he was SOO GOOOOD
ANNNNDD they mentioned Tom!! WOOO at the end gandalf spoke about going to speak with Tom bombadil! We all had a giggle it was fun
It was just generally amazing all round

Let me drop some ideas that I haven't been able to kick out of my head lately
there we go
1 ) muchacho
so I've been casually doing my lessons on duolingo , when suddenly I've been blessed with this word being brought back around. Since my last encounter with this word had been while watching the movie ,,Coco" my brain quickly brrrrrrrrred and what came out of it is:
kindnap family in spanish
and yes I could say here how much I would love to see them in a setting similar to that one episode of ofmd where we have Jim's backstory and everyone is just so badass
but the truth is
what I desire is just to read a spanish fic where Mae calls teenage Elros muchacho , like idk , it's cute and feels like something Mae would say. Sure english ,kid' is nice
but muchacho @everyone
idk I've just grown to like this word a lot
basically could've just shortened it to ,Mae calling Elros muchacho' , but I'm in the mood for some ramble
2 ) ,,She stole his dog and dyed it key lime green" (from ,,The Last Great American Dynasty" by Taylor Swift")
so another idea that I bring to the table today is my favourite line from my favourite song (yes, I'm a swiftie)
now everyone close your eyes and imagine it with
Irissë
Celery
& Huan
basically story happens back in Valinor when they're still young and having fun
imagine Irissë getting angry at Tyelko because he's a dumbass (affecionate) or just wanting to mess with him or trying to win a bet with someone or whatever reason
just let's have it result with her stealing Huan for a day or a night and
KEY LIME GREEN HUAN!!!!!
by Irissë
and then Tyelko sees it the next day and falls down crying because ,,NOOOOOOO, NOOOOOOO , EVERYTHING & EVERYONE , BUT NOT HUAN, NOOOOOOO; IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ONE OF MY BROTHERS IRISSË! WHY NOT MAGLOR IRISSË?! "
(confused Maglor in the background)
two days later Celery is still trying to wash the dye off of his dearest friend ; ,,how could she do it to you? *crying intensifies
Note: no magical dog was hurt during these happenings ~ Huan didn't really mind this short change in looks
3 ) Argon and golden ribbons
here I just drop an image of little Argon braiding some stolen from Fingon golden ribbons into his hair because he wants to be like his big brother
and Fingon sees it and just melts
and this is because these moments where he feels like the big brother he is are so rare , mainly because he personally radiates this kind of younger sibling energy
Irissë treats him almost as if they were twins (they have very similar personalities and both of them are secretly dating a fëanorian cousin, just so many things in common between them) , Turgon basically took over being the oldest siblingTM in this family and he may not have told him that it's because he sucks at being an eldest brother figure, but Fingon doesn't need him to voice these thoughts to be aware of them
so yeah, Turgon steals the older brother vibe while Irissë and Fingon just vibe the younger sibling vibe together, but then Argon appears in the picture....
and by that time Fingon has grown up enough to pass the big bro vibe check
so Argon does acknowledge him as the big brother
and Argon wants to be like him
and Argon braids golden ribbons into his hair to look like him
and Argon looks up to him for all of his childhood and even a little longer
and then adult Argon follows him at Alqualondë
and Argon gets doomed
and Argon dies
and it's all because of him
and Fingon might've never agreed with Turgon's overall opinion of him not being a good older brother , but as he looks at his little brother's dead body he wonders
he wonders if Turgon might be right
(okay, enough angst for today)
(or is it?)
4 ) ,,Marjorie" by Taylor Swift
and as much as this whole song gives me the vibe of adult Elrond in Lindon reminiscing his fëanorian upbringing (don't get me started on the angst of him not being allowed to speak about his childhood openly because ,,wdym you consider those MURDERERS your parents alongside your actual parents?????? Oh you poor traumatised thing!!!!!" )
anyway
let me focus here on the
,,The autumn chill that wakes me up/ [...] / Long limbs and frozen swims/ You'd always go past where our feet could touch"
part
like
let's think about these autumn days that are awfully cold in the morning , but then at noon it's almost as warm as during cooler summer days
now let's imagine Mae taking E&E to a nearby lake , so they can learn/practice swimming
(I imagine Mae would consider swimming a potentially important survival-enabling skill and deem it important for E&E to learn it)
ofc they would have to bring a small troop with them because it's apocaliptic end of first age Beleriand and there are orcs everywhere , but still Mae bringing the kids to the lake would be a very fun ,cherished moment for all of them. Mae being tall and going far from the shore, Elros always trying to follow him without caring that water gets too deep for him, Maglor seeing this and having a heart attack Maglor repeatedly telling Elros not to go past where his feet can touch. Elros going anyway, because Maedhros is there, so even if something happens, it's not like he's gonna die dad Mae would save him. Maglor forbiding Mae from taking them to the lake because this little shit Elros is a menace to himself Mae secretly taking them to the lake anyways because ,,they NEED to know how to swim, Mags , you don't understand , what if they DIE someday due to not knowing how to swim????'' let me quote the song again ,,The autumn chill that wakes me up/ [...] / Long limbs and frozen swims'' Mae waking them up early, so they can leave before his little brother is up; and it's still quite early when they arrive at the lake, so the water is freezing And then, centuries later, in Lindon it's just Elrond and these memories because the rest of the family is dead, gone, dead

just finished rings of power (im a long time lotr fan ive read all the books hobbit and simarillian included and seen all the movies so here are my opinions)
excuse me while I cry about Gandalf and Nori mirroring Gandalf and Frodo and Gandalf and Bilbo. And also the courage the hobbits have even though they are the smallest of beings.
Elrond and Durin being gay wasn't on my bucket list but im so here for it they should kiss.
Arondir is my favorite I just want him to be happy let him be with that lady and parent that kid literally just let him live, bro has been put through it.
that one warg was terrifying wtf was that.
Cinematography goes extremely hard.
Isildurs vibes are nasty ofc he kept the ring to himself.
Galadriel is outstanding love her to bits what an amazing character well done.

Bedrooms and Hallways(1998)-Watching Con O'Neill's old stuff cause it's fun. Day #?
Bedrooms and Hallways
Here we are!
Once again, consuming media I would have otherwise never watched for one guy. As always thoughts at the end.
Warnings: I can't find any official ones but- any genitals are covered by a blanket, knee, or just blurred in the background. Referenced masturbation. Post-coital/foreplay activities. Fighting. Two men making out, generally just friends encouraging their friend to get laid. Don't watch in front of the family. 90s-era comedy, biphobia might be an issue, but that might just depend on the viewer.
Life Update: Just turned 21 yesterday, didn't do anything fun (I've never drank and don't really want to), but rewatched OFMD yesterday for the first time in months with the brother. I just had a good day. This movie has a guy leaving his 'fun' twenties to live his more serious adult life. Accidentally fitting :)
As always I'd love to thank everyone who reads this. The usual suspects, those who've given me notes, and the blogs I love to see who have posted about this movie<3 Y'all make my year just that bit brighter. If you haven't seen this movie, I've also got Con photos here from the movie. So there's that. :)

30? Lovely. Celebrate a bit!
"THE BOYS COME BACK" Yey!
Oh I love this. CON!!!
Give that man a surprise party, he's literally asking for one.
God, Love that our protagonist has a support system.
God where the fuck are they at, this is a giant apartment.
I know a few recognizable faces are in this, but I will need to IMDB everyone
Protagonist being awkward around everyone at his own suprise party is very sweet.
Yeah, they threw a party just to throw a party, but still. Try to have fun.
Well, I'd love to see more of Con's guy.
Bro's working on coming out a bit? Good for him.
IS THAT HUGO WEAVING? ELROND? V? What the fuck??!?! Oh, I'm in for a good time.
Hell yeah, a suit kink is standard. OH HE FUCKS PEOPLE IN HOUSES THAT ARN'T SOLD YET?!?!? That feels illegal in a way.
Okay, if your going to do something like this, check the upstairs before you fuck.
I'm into the editing, fun and snappy.
Ha! The way Leo(protagonist) gossips to everyone.
(talking to coworker)Bro, just communicate in a relationship, seriously. Why do straight men in media just assume relationships are getting complemented every once in a while.
I need straight friends like this.
I'm concerned with the phrase men's group.
I've gotten a few chuckles out already.
I think they're a fun older straight couple. (Men's group.)
Oh, was the first few minutes a jump forward? Lovely.
CON! TERRY!
God, I want his wardrobe.
"You sat in a room with straight men and talked about your feelings?" True, I'd be surprised as well.
Your friend is more Fem presenting and has probably been harassed most of his life. He's found a nice inner circle, don't bash him.
Does this man with a rough voice that washes over you happen to be named Terry? It's not, but what if.
(Realtor showing a house) Babe, it's housing, it's never really positive.
"Don't stop now I was just getting moist!" Haaahhaa
(Cut to the men's group) THE HONESTY STONE! I NEED TO DO THIS IN A FIC.
What the fuck is going on here?
"Support his head in a loving way"?
(guy clearly lying on the ground pretending to be having an exorcism)Me too guy, this is a lot.
I….I want to be in the lady's room. I know why this character is doing this. If he makes a big show of it, he doesn't need to actually genuinely open up.
CON COVERING HIS MOUTH SO HE DOESNT LAUGH
Love that they sat for hours letting this guy go off.
Leo's turn. "I find a member of the group attractive." (That member being Brenden) WOAH. Babe, bold. This just feels like an easy way to get beat up.
Terry, I have questions. Mainly, how are you swinging babe? I love that he's supportive of Leo coming out almost immediately, if hesitant.
"He's alright." TERRY YOU BITCH
Call me a prude, I don't think I'd fuck in a pool.
I love that we see how much these houses cost.
I also love how supportive his friend is here with this crush.
I swear if someone dies I'm going to lose my shit.
SAUNA
OH GOOD LORD! Gender? Envy.
(Then we move on into the women's club's room for a usual meeting. The men all wearing white robes. Terry opens the scene by saying he has a big announcement.)
HELL YEAH TERRY!
IS HE ALSO QUEER?
THE HARPOON?
(Terry, hesitantly, admitting that he jacked off to a magazine filled with men) HELL YEAH TERRY!
GOOD FOR YOU TERRY! (IM ASSUMING) BISEXUAL ICON!
FUCKING YEAH! GOOD ON YOU MAN.
As someone who also found out about themselves after someone close came out to them. Awww. It's just very sweet.
God I love terry talking to the women's group leader "cause we've made a mess of it, us men, haven't we." ICON
The drama. Oh, Brenden is a closet case. And Terry, THE GUY WHO JUST HAD THE BALLS TO COME OUT is hitting on HIS man.
Imagine making a men's support group that turns into a dating agency
Don't be mean to Terry, Brenden. Terry is mean enough to himself. Have you looked at him?
OHHH GET IT TERRY! MAKE BRENDEN JEALOUS!
HAHAHAHAH HE READ JANE AUSTEN! Rude, but yeah, that shit can be a slog to read.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST…wait…oh my god. Darren fucking Mr. Collins. That's how I recognize him! OH MY GOD. That was years after this!!!! WTF!?!?!?
OH MY LORD SHORT SHORTS TERRY YOU FIEND. I see the fifth-dimensional chess going on here.
Tumblr media
You won't be hunting shit. It's a public forest in England. Order takeout.
How the fuck did they actually catch a rabbit.
Oh, Terry you pathetic little guy. Trapped in a bush.
Terry. 0. Bush 1. Awww he had to change outfits :(.
Yeah, there you go babes. Order food like men.
Don't dance that close to the fire, also, taking his shirt off is a good move. 10/10.
Brenden, why are you like this. Crawling into his tent, I see you.
Seriously? Terry walks into camp and thinks he sees the shadows of the two of them(Leo and Brenden) fucking? Just like Ed&Stede with the sword incident. Making Terry jealous and defensive? Great. Love it.
God Terry's outfits are all looks, sassy bitch, I love it
Ohh shit. Terry's jealous.
OHH SHIT! GET HIM TERRY! GET HIS ASS.
(In the car, driving home) AWWWW Terry says he's not ready for hugs yet but in the opening, we saw him hug Leo. :) That's so fucking GOOD. AHH
Oh, we've all had that straight crush we wished was gay.
So did they actually fuck? Or...
Terry's fucking side-eye. He's probably happy he gets to flip the script a bit here on Leo with the whole sexuality exploration.
This isn't going to go well for Leo.
Obviously respect where people are at, don't force gay people to prove that they aren't just faking it but still. Weird.
(The roommate trying to 'test' if he likes women) HAHAHHAHAA I love them. This is weird but he doesn't seem too uncomfortable with it.
(Skipped a few scenes, but Leo and Brenden definately fuck)
Awww Leo's chasing after him to make sure you get his number is cute. AWWWW.
They're flirting is so fun. Love banter=flirting
Oh does she think she's cheating on him with another woman?
OH HE'S TOTALLY CHEATING THAT'S FUCKED UP.
Oh God, they know each other. Brenden is dead. Murdered.
The way that Darren ran over to hear the gossip! HOLY SHIT!
OH SHIT, THE WAY HE'S TRYING TO COVER FOR HIM, DAMN
Okay, he's not cheating, he's actually broken up here. Good.
No, that's totally a relationship on pause. Good on him for trying to clarify where Brenden is at before pushing it further.
Good on the married couple that runs the groups. "I love being a woman, not because of you, because of me."
Terry do you want to fuck Brennan. That's definitely a look you're giving him.
Awww! Baby Queers unite!  "Does it hurt?" "You get used to it after a while..." Terry squeezes the pillow tighter "Excellent." Ahh! Love it.
"*Gong* I've Got something but it's not homosexual so I don't know If you'll be interested" hmm….we'll see John. You're on a tight rope.
I love this therapist guy. Damn. If John's going to be like that, he can just leave.
Leo. Babe, bisexual. The word we're looking for is Bisexual.
"You are a strawberry blonde. You can't go out with an ash blonde." Me looking at my blond x brunette ship list.
Handcuffs= they're going to get caught.
(Darren gets caught getting fucked in the girlfriends house, then needs to tell Leo, cause YEAH) "If I'd done something really, really, really, bad…"Ahahahahha Callback
God, I hope everyone pairs up with someone. Especially Terry-
"Why am I always the one waiting for everyone to sort themselves out?" Me too babe
CONFRONT HIM AT WORK. GREAT IDEA.
THROUPLE, I vote throuple. 2 people have issues communicating, but it could work.
SHE KNEW, AND DOESN'T WANT HIM BACK. GOOD ON HER
Darren, please put down the knife. You are going to hurt yourself.
Cut to the party back at the beginning.
OH GOOD FUCKING GOD. Go hang out with your friends, babe.
Terry stay away from Brenden. He's has a bad vibe. Also, Glowup! The white coat, the shirt! God. I want his gender.
Three is a throuple and 2 members here are too irresponsible to manage it.
Good on her for setting boundaries though.
The whole kissing friends thing is so weird.
HA! THE WHOLE WOMENS GROUP IS ALSO SHADES OF QUEER! AHHHH! The older straight couple just loves the gossip.
Oh, Elrond wants to fuck. Well, at least you tried mate. Good on Darren for trying to stand up for himself, the guy wants a bit of romance.
OHHHH SHIT! TERRY'S CHEWING HIM OUT!!!!
GET HIM TERRY! CHEW BRENDEN OUT! YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE THIS FIGHT! BUT I WANT IT!
Oh they absolutely need to fuck, the sheer hatred emanating off of them alone. LOOK AT IT
Tumblr media
The two Blondes unaware two idiots about to fight in the backyard.
God, i actually like/care for all of these couples, it's sweet
1 PUNCH IS ALL IT TOOK. The nose is his weak spot.
ONCE AGAIN HE'S SAD BLOODY AND PATHETIC
OH MY GOD. Brenden is actually using his pickup line on Terry? OH GOD.
HAHAHA HIS LOOK TO THE HEAVENS AND QUIET 'YES!' Hopefully they can make it work. But with Brenden back to living with her, who knows.
Well, another year. Everyone paired off. Leo is letting himself find joy where ever he can find it. Both roommates are getting laid. Good, happy, movie.
Yeah, that 'hope it's just a phase' joke isn't great.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Bisexuality: This film goes into the whole 'are you truly a gay', thing. Overall it ends up with three characters who thought they were one way, realizing they were more fluid than they thought(Leo, Darren, and Terry). Just kind of a fun character exploration film. I'm looking at it in a modern sense. Darren(gay roomate) clings to his identity to find a community whereas Leo feels no need to define it. Both aren't inherently wrong, just different ways of living a life. Personally defining a label wasn't for me, so eh, I get both sides. It was the 90s when this came out and for the time, idk. Sexual fluidity feels revolutionary. I think the point of the movie is, to explore and live your life? I'd love to know how any bisexuals who read this feel about it.
Tumblr media
Con: 10/10 God I fucking loved Terry.
Seeing someone essentially having my same life experience coming out was funny (exploring the idea of being queer after a friend comes out, realizing you have a crush on that friend, but oh shit, crush has already shacked up with a friend in the group). He's such a fucking sweet asshole. Asking for genuine advice, smiling, standing up for a friend. Sure, he wanted to fuck Leo, but he's still someone Leo can trust. I want to rank all of the Con characters based on how alike they are to Izzy. Cause Terry is up there. He's so pathetic, in such a fun way.
AND GOD HIS OUTFIT CHANGES!
I noticed it in the movie but didn't want to just briefly bring it up to a point, but god it's so good!
The way he naturally relaxes into clothing that just fits his fun personality more. THE SHORTS! After the man comes out, he realizes he wants to fuck Leo, then shows off his legs in shorts! Genius Idea. Beautiful. Then his outfit gets ruined in bushes. GOD. By the end of the movie he settles into a good mix of relaxed and macho. He wears what he's comfortable with and isn't as closed off. It's sweet.
I am not over Con playing the jealous 3rd in a 2 person relationship. I literally rewatched OFMD yesterday for my birthday. These are very similar people. I love it so much guys. I did this thinking this would help me write Izzy, which it has, but god. I'm just so glad I did to see more queer media.
Everyone else 8/10: Darren grew on me like a leach. His version of Queerness opening up to romance, and legit trying to manage that was sweet. Branden was a 50/50 for me, I had bad vibes with him in the beginning and he never really grew on me. I actually hated Daren's main squeeze, too off putting seeing him here. Loved his other roomie, and the therapist/leader the men's group.
Story 6-7/10: I liked the ending. This weird year wrapped up and Leo ready to look into his future. With a new, wider, weirder support system filled with more people expressing their Queerness in different ways. I liked it ignoring the 90s comedy beats, weird editing, music. This was just a fun story that ignored the real world for a bit.
Overall: 7-8/10. Personally, I recommend it with caveats. Weird 'we need to separate hetero and homo' stuff, and weird humor definitely from the 90s. I did like 90% of the characters though, and this was a long movie that kept me engaged the whole time. Which is something I can't say about some of Con's other stuff. Again, I'm heavily leaning to one side of the Kinsey scale. I can't imagine how insulting this movie could be if I was more center-leaning. Love to hear yall's thoughts down below <3 I love chatting with yall.
(Also, if I didn't recognize anyone else famous, please yell at me)
Tumblr media
(Ranking based on Character/Performance, not on project itself)
I've decided that I will add his mini projects/tv appearances eventually. Pie in the Sky needs to get on there For Sure. Next up, I am actually watching the first half of Real Women, S2 eps1-4.
(Fun aside. I put all of Con's characters into the Hunger games generator, including the characters I hadn't seen yet. Terry came out victorious! Killing off Angel and Mogh personally. This set expectations high, and I'm glad he met them.)
Have an amazing week yall!

Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli (Lord of the Rings) vs Gil Galad, Elrond, and Celebrian (Silmarillion)
I am going to cry. -🦊
Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli propaganda: i likea them a lot :) • three dudes going on a road trip i hope nothing bond making happens • they can all braid each others hair • i don't know what the actual shipname is but gigolaron sounds funny youve opened my eyes youre so so so right. theyre just sooooooo. THEY ARE SO QPR FOR REALSIES. legolas and gimli devoted their whole lives to one another and legolas took gimli to essentially elf heaven with him. legolas and aragorn were amazing friends and i think they kissed. the three hunters are so qpr coded to me. they care so much for one another. i have not watched lotr in too long i should rewatch it again but Trust Me Bro theyre SO in love for realsies i got told to vote this by one of the mods. also aragorngimlilegolas resembles my qpr thank you tolkien for making these bitches sooo qpr roadtrip material
Gil Galad, Elrond, and Celebrian propagada: theyre soooo. the high king and his herald, facing unimaginable enemies that have killed all of their families. theyre both so trans also. they can only try to support each other even though the work keeps piling on and people keep dying and all they can do is try to live for each other. elrond has pledged his life to gilgalad and he will always be loyal. gilgalad would die for elrond but he has too many responsibilities and it breaks his heart that he cant say it back. when he does die it is for the world and for love and for elrond. to make a safe world for everyone. when they reunite in valinor they will have changed and learned so much but will still be there for each other, even though they are no longer king and herald.a king and a herald and their best friend. one has pledged their life to the people, the other to him, and the last is just trying to support them. in the midst of so much fear and destruction and uncertainty they stick together and support each other. gil galad dies before them and his loss will stay with them forever. celebrian has to sail to valinor and she must leave behind one for the other. but when elrond sails they will finally all be reunited. gil galad will never meet arwen but she grew up hearing stories about her second father, and strives to be as fair and just a ruler as he. elrohir and elladan are grown by the time they sail but they have until the end of days to make up for lost time. they get a happy ending, even through so much pain and strife. gil galad and celebrian know about elros and his decision to become mortal and how elrond knows it was the right choice for him but has a broken heart anyways. they knew but they didn't realize it would happen to them too. but they love each other and their children and they just want whats best for them. and they take solace in each other, they who still remain even through death. and they hope that when the dagor dagorath comes they can finally see all of their loved ones return from the great adventure of man and fight alongside each other, for even the destruction and renewal of arda cannot mar the happiness at being all together once more.
