Chapter 6 - I Leave The Good
Book master list
The calls were becoming even more frequent than before, which was a shock, to say the least.
He knows that I know him. All of him. And he also knows that I will make sure that he regrets the day he came into my life, but I am not sure I regret him coming.
After all, I had a heart. And now I don't want him to hurt me anymore than he did already.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had told him that I didn't want to see him and I had meant that. So, after a month of trying to avoid him, I knocked onto Mallik Saab's office.
"Come in. Kaun? Ah Riya, tum? Kya hua? Don ka paata chala?"
"Nahin. Main aapko yeh patana chahti hoon ke I am quitting. I won't work for Interpol anymore."
"Why?"
"I am fed up of this hide and seek, Sir. I am fed up of being Detective Inspector [Weapon Specialist], working for Interpol Priya Roy. Main ab sirf Priya banna chahti hoon. Main ab aapne liye jeena chahti hoon. And that means leaving my job, to figure out what I want to do later."
"Toh kya tum yeh chahti ho ke Don khule am ghume?"
"Itne saalon mein woh kabhi mere haath nahin aaya Sir, toh kya guarantee hai ki woh agli baar aayega? 10 saal hone ko hai, jabse yeh case liya hai. Ab main thak gayi. Aur meri ek request hai. Aap yeh case, na Roma ko dedena. She is the fittest for the case, and I am sure that she will make progress, unlike me. She is a star, and she won't make you regret it."
"Theek hai. Jaise Tumhari marzi."
At that point, Roma comes in and she is very upset.
"Priya, you're leaving me?"
"No. I am not leaving you. I am leaving Interpol, and I am definitely leaving everything and everyone else related to this. There is a difference, Roma."
"Then, why are you leaving?"
"It's mainly because I want to.... live like other people. And not have this nerve-racking thought that he is following me or other issues that I have. Mallik Saab, main ab azaad hona chahti hoon and please Roma ko guide karlena. Huse aapki zaroot hogi. Goodbye."
Roma took the leave for the day, so we could spend some time before I leave and find another place.
"Priya, ab kaha jaogi?"
"Pata nahin. Maybe back home. I haven't seen my brother and his girlfriend, for a while now. He is definitely not going to be happy that I will be coming to him last minute."

the fact that shakespeare was a playwright is sometimes so funny to me. just the concept of the "greatest writer of the English language" being a random 450-year-old entertainer, a 16th cent pop cultural sensation (thanks in large part to puns & dirty jokes & verbiage & a long-running appeal to commoners). and his work was made to be watched not read, but in the classroom teachers just hand us his scripts and say "that's literature"
just...imagine it's 2450 A.D. and English Lit students are regularly going into 100k debt writing postdoc theses on The Simpsons screenplays. the original animation hasn't even been preserved, it's literally just scripts and the occasional SDH subtitles.txt. they've been republished more times than the Bible
#due to the Great Data Decay academics write viciously argumentative articles on which episodes aired in what order#at conferences professors have known to engage in physically violent altercations whilst debating the air date number of household viewers#90% of the couch gags have been lost and there is a billion dollar trade in counterfeit “lost copies”#serious note: i'll be honest i always assumed it was english imperialism that made shakespeare so inescapable in the 19th/20th cent#like his writing should have become obscure at the same level of his contemporaries#but british imperialists needed an ENGLISH LANGUAGE (and BRITISH) writer to venerate#and shakespeare wrote so many damn things that there was a humongous body of work just sitting there waiting to be culturally exploited...#i know it didn't happen like this but i imagine a English Parliament House Committee Member For The Education Of The Masses or something#cartoonishly stumbling over a dusty cobwebbed crate labelled the Complete Works of Shakespeare#and going 'Eureka! this shall make excellent propoganda for fabricating a national identity in a time of great social unrest.#it will be a cornerstone of our elitist educational institutions for centuries to come! long live our decaying empire!'#'what good fortune that this used to be accessible and entertaining to mainstream illiterate audience members...#..but now we can strip that away and make it a difficult & alienating foundation of a Classical Education! just like the latin language :)'#anyway maybe there's no such thing as the 'greatest writer of x language' in ANY language?#maybe there are just different styles and yes levels of expertise and skill but also a high degree of subjectivity#and variance in the way that we as individuals and members of different cultures/time periods experience any work of media#and that's okay! and should be acknowledged!!! and allow us to give ourselves permission to broaden our horizons#and explore the stories of marginalized/underappreciated creators#instead of worshiping the List of Top 10 Best (aka Most Famous) Whatevers Of All Time/A Certain Time Period#anyways things are famous for a reason and that reason has little to do with innate “value”#and much more to do with how it plays into the interests of powerful institutions motivated to influence our shared cultural narratives#so i'm not saying 'stop teaching shakespeare'. but like...maybe classrooms should stop using it as busy work that (by accident or designs)#happens to alienate a large number of students who could otherwise be engaging critically with works that feel more relevant to their world#(by merit of not being 4 centuries old or lacking necessary historical context or requiring untaught translation skills)#and yeah...MAYBE our educational institutions could spend less time/money on shakespeare critical analysis and more on...#...any of thousands of underfunded areas of literary research i literally (pun!) don't know where to begin#oh and p.s. the modern publishing world is in shambles and it would be neat if schoolwork could include modern works?#beautiful complicated socially relevant works of literature are published every year. it's not just the 'classics' that have value#and actually modern publications are probably an easier way for students to learn the basics. since lesson plans don't have to include the#important historical/cultural context many teens need for 20+ year old media (which is older than their entire lived experience fyi)

Madgaon Express trailer launch: Kunal Kemmu talks about his SHOCKING and amusing Goa trip: “Humne deewar Surf se ghisni shuru ki; I imagined hotel staff beating us up in slow motion”
Kunal Kemmu was in his element as he launched the trailer of his debut directorial, Madgaon Express, today in Mumbai. He opened up on the tagline of the film, ‘Bachpan ke sapne. Lag gaye apne’ when he was asked whether he had a ‘lag gaye apne’ moment in life. Kunal narrated a shocking and amusing episode that left everyone in splits.
Tumblr media
Kunal Kemmu said, “It was a time when I had acted in two films. Since we could afford it by then, me and my three friends decided to go to Goa by air. I booked a suite in an expensive hotel as well. My friends were too excited as it was their first time in a suite.”
He continued, “At night, we decided to go for partying. We all got dressed. One of my friends didn’t get a gel and hence, he decided to apply coconut oil on his head. But he was not able to get the oil out (of the bottle). It was stuck. He was standing in the middle of the room and we were all dressed in suits. He kept pressing the bottle. Achanak se woh bottle fatt gayi! Saara tel hamare kapdon pe aaya aur deewaron pe bhi chala gaya. It resulted in huge stains on the walls. I imagined hotel staff beating us up in slow motion!”
Kunal Kemmu couldn’t control his laughter as he further said, “We all removed our suits and wore boxers. For the next 1 ½ hours, we decided to clean up the mess. We sent one friend to get small Surf sachets. Humne deewar ghisni shuru ki (laughs). We ordered several towels; we didn’t care if hotel staff would think, ‘Yeh 4 ladke tauliye pe tauliye kyun mangaaye ja rahe hai’! We used the bathtub to make foam water. We thought we’ll be saved. Unfortunately, the affected area on the wall turned into ‘papdi’. We had to compensate and had to apologize several times.”
Kunal Kemmu was joined by the film’s actors – Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, Nora Fatehi and Chhaya Kadam – along with co-producer Rucha Pathak. Madgaon Express releases in cinemas on March 22.

Chapter 2 - Who Is He, I Wonder?
Book master list
I was getting scared. I didn't know what to do. He could have done anything that could have caused lose someone's life. The knocking grew in frequency. I had to open the door. So I opened it.
Don was changed from the last time I saw him.
Longer black hair which reached up to his shoulders ripped body and his eyes were full of mischief and naughtiness as I realized that I was only in a towel because I just finished showering. So I quickly ran down towards the bathroom, so I could wear the clothes I was planning to wear, which were a simple but comfy T-shirt and a pair of shorts.
However, before I knew it, Don held me against his chest and started running his fingers on my neck, and then on the shoulders while coming in the apartment. He stopped till my hands and held my hand on his chest and kissed my knuckles and made me turn around so I was facing him. He left the gun on the shelves. Somehow, it felt as if Rahul was there, in front of me. Then, I dismissed that thought.
It can't happen. Rahul was dead because of Don.
Then I saw something in his eyes which made them completely red and was bothering him and he couldn't take it off for some reason. Or maybe did not want to. Or wanted me to remove it. I took out his glasses and then tried to remove what was a grain. I then looked at him to see if there were any grains or anything that was bothering him.
I told him: "I removed what was bothering your eyes now. Can you leave me now, please?"
I then grasped that while I was saying it, I was very calm. I was not getting impatient at all. I don't know why. And him? He just listened to me very intently.
When he started touching my arms again, I felt like hugging him really tight, as if I was missing his touch on my body. I realized I was shivering. Because the way he was touching was the same as Rahul's.
Don then left me and went towards the bathroom, without saying anything.
In that time, I managed to change my clothes. I saw a blood mark on my towel, where the stomach was.
I then heard Don moaning, so I went in the bathroom and saw Don trying to remove a bullet from his stomach and there was blood everywhere. He was struggling to stay straight, as he lost a lot of blood.
I said to him: "Look Don, I can help you with that. Just stay calm. I have been in those situations. Just lie on the bathtub."
"No, I don't need your help. I can manage. Like every time. Without you."
The way he said it made me wonder.
He started feeling weaker and weaker, till I held him in my arms and took him to the bed, where I removed the bullet. I had made an anaesthetic injection so that he doesn't feel any pain. I then washed the shirt that he wore, covered in blood and waited for the shirt to dry. I was getting nervous, so I got out of the balcony and took a cigarette. That makes me really relaxed. I then came back in when I saw that Don was not on the bed anymore.
"Don, where are you? You've got stitches on the stomach; you are not supposed to move. Just try and relax. I won't harm you."
I heard a voice which was far away as if echoing. "Promise?"
"Promise."
I suddenly felt something on my shoulders. He was leaning his chin on my shoulders and his hands were around my waist. He then started to kiss me behind my ear, then slowly on the neck and I was becoming more and more aroused by him and I wanted more.
I wanted to kiss him so badly.
He then suddenly turned me around so that our lips were just inches apart. He then leant and kissed me on the cheeks. He was going away when I took his hand and held it on my chest. My chest was pounding.
I asked him: "Who are you? Mujhe aisa lag raha hai ki tum.... woh ho joh main soch rahi hoon."
"Kaun?" His eyes were intense as if they were looking in my soul and his voice was raspy, which made him even more attractive.
"R...R...Rahul."
He then opened his shirt, and there was a tattoo. The tattoo that Rahul had on his chest.
I love you Riya. I love you more than anything else in this world. I would do anything to make you smile. I would give up my own life if that's needed.
And there it was, the man that I love more than my own life. In front of me. I started crying and ran towards him and hugged him really tight and started to kiss him, realizing that the man was in front of me was my Rahul. He kissed me back, with just as much passion and craving as I was. The man I loved all my life. The man that I was supposed to get married.
But.... why did he become Don? And why did he fake his own death? Why didn't he tell me about it? Didn't he trust me? There were so many questions going through my mind, that I felt dizzy. And then...black.

SCOOP: Kiara Advani lands a whopping Rs. 13 crores for Don 3, gets her biggest pay cheque to date
Earlier in the year, we were the first to inform our esteemed readers that Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh have locked Kiara Advani as the female lead of Don 3. And now, we exclusively bring to you the inside story of this casting coup for the first-ever Don Universe Film. According to sources close to the development, it was a pick between Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani for Don 3.
Tumblr media
"Farhan Akhtar had short-listed two girls for Don 3, and it was Ranveer Singh who was very keen to have Kiara Advani on board. The two share a very comfortable bond off-screen and Ranveer felt that the off-screen bond would transform beautifully on the screen. Farhan then went to Kiara Advani and pitched her character," a source told Bollywood Hungama exclusively.
The source further added that Kiara Advani has charged premium pricing for Don 3. The makers were more than happy to give her the biggest paycheque to date. "Kiara Advani has charged Rs. 13 crores to come on board Don 3. It's the biggest that she charged to date and the actress is all charged up to prep for the big-scale action scenes of Don 3. The amount that Kiara has fetched for Don 3 is almost 50 percent higher than what she is getting for another action film, War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and JR. NTR," the source told us further.
Don 3 is slated to go on floors in August with a big schedule and will hit the big screen in 2025.
