the thing that kills me about Martin putting tapes on the buried coffin is that he accepts Jon’s non-humanity more than Jon himself does. Jon’s still trying to believe that he’s human so much that he tries to bring himself back with his physical body, even though he’s been freely using it as collateral for years by this point. Do any of you ever wonder if Camp Half-Blood accidentally brought in a demigod of a different pantheon before?

This would be especially hilarious if it happens sometime after The Last Olympian/Heroes of Olympus, where the gods are required to claim their kids quickly.

A whole day passes, and the new demigod needs to sleep in the Hermes Cabin and Percy is furious. Meanwhile, the Greek Gods are pointing at each other and shouting, contacting the most obscure of mini gods. Chaos erupts on Olympus as every deity in Greek Mythology is called upon and interrogated. Hermes hasn't run around so much in centuries.

Hecate sits in silence, fully aware of what's happening, but enjoying the show too much to intervene.

Thinking about how in the first episode Alice says “it isn’t too awkward working with an ex?” but in episode 6 Sam says “it’s the same place you hid things when we were students”, not “when we were dating”. Thinking about how Alice said “don’t you want Celia to go with you” and Sam said “we’re not there yet” and Alice said “are we?” and Sam says “We used to be.”

I love that everyone in TMA is just. Unremarkable. Jon isnt a heroic character; he's self-loathing and depressed and he exhibits the same self-pity as I do when I'm self-loathing and depressed. He doesn't stand out for his strength of will or quick-thinking or virtue. He's a good person but he stops trying to stay human when it gets uncomfortable. He's everything that a regular person is when theyre trapped in a horrible situation and it's ugly and insufferable and Real.
