That time Jimmy Page invited Ritchie Blackmore to Boleskine House
(ca. July 1972)
“The visit was very interesting and a little scary. The house was spooky and gothic. That day was rainy and misty as usual on the shores of Loch Ness. There, we saw lots of amazing art, sculpture and weird logos from Jimmy Page's various societies including, obviously, pentacles.
That afternoon there was an unmistakable element of rivalry between the two guitartists. They clashed like two matadors.
Ritchie wanted to see the house: he was jealous, probably wanted to buy it himself. Jimmy Page was much more curious about Crowley, drudism, magick, celtic folklore and stuff like that. Ritchie just liked the image.
They had afternoon tea and a couple of joints, then they made their excuses and departed.”
— Dick O'Dell, Ritchie Blackmore's lighting director who he visited Boleskine House with
My mind is awake and cranking out all these scenarios and I really should be sleeping but I can’t stop thinking about Sukuna and Nanami’s and Toshi and it’s making me crazy and your asks got me spiralling more into “historical” AUs/HCs and now I just want a loyal knight/prince/regency man to love me unconditionally
im sorry i had to-- 30 rock is one of my favorite shows fjsnnfnsnd
i feel like you should phone scribble, go to sleep, and then flesh them out in the morning hehehehhehehe.
i love phone scribbling. I told myself i could watch that time travel movie if i finish drafting up the empty plot parts of the sukuna wip and i just type whatever my brain says and so i literally have a word vomit sentence that says "WHAT'S THIS!! A NEW CONTENDER?? A GUITARTIST??????"
ANYWAYS SO YEAH, BABY, SCRIBBLE THEM OUT IN THE PHONE. THEY'RE VERY FUN TO READ IN THE MORNING TIME and also future you will thank you that you got the idea out in literally any form 💀💀
These days, I’m fascinated by Jonathan Koh’s guitar playing. He is absolutely a genius.
I first came across Jonathan when I was checking out reviews on the Harley Benton Guitars.
Frankly speaking, by judging from his look you may associate him with a scholar rather than a guitarist. However, when his guitar starts to ring …, oh Jesus, this man is great and his playing is absolutely stunning. A…
Musicians playing at the ARMS Concert (Royal Albert Hall, London, 1983) explain who they've worked with prior to the event.
Recorded live in September 1983 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the ARMS Concert was the first of ten charity concerts in support of Action into Research for Multiple Sclerosis (ARMS).
Appearing for an evening of fundraising and rock'n'roll was the concert brainchild Ronnie Lane, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Andy Fairweather-Low, Kenney Jones and Steve Winwood, plus Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck - the first time all three of the The Yardbirds' lead guitartists had appeared together.
Initially, the show at the Royal Albert Hall was planned to be a one-off performance, but, due to its enormous popularity, was subsequently extended with nine shows of differing line-ups across North America.
Had my first “real” band practice today and it went better than any of us had anticipated. So far we are a three piece consisting of a drummer, bassist, and me on guitar. I’ve been in several bands during and after high school but this one seems to be more promising due to that fact that we’ve all gotten better since then and we are playing the music we love. Playing music in a band setting is the high I’ve been chasing despite the copious amounts of weed and other drugs I used to partake in. Im glad I stopped all that bullshit because Im a lot more level headed now and haven’t been as anxious about anything and everything lately. It’ll be a couple more months before we start playing shows again but that’s because we all have work so we can really only practice about twice a week but that’s more than enough time to get everything nice and tight sounding. Things seem to be working out in my favor again so I hope this feeling lasts :3. Thanks to all of you reading this and those following me just for the the pics. Im more than happy to share music and stuff Im working on if any of you want an idea of what Im doing. Today was just an awesome day and I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys so I hope you all have a good day and night as well!!
