The moment the two of you return to your suite from your couple's massage you immediately jump face down onto the bed of rose petals that are redone for you and Jungkook every night of your stay at the all-inclusive resort.
Your honeymoon suite was simply stunning. It was your own little bungalow with an ocean-side view of the very private island the hotel was on with your neighbours being more than 50 yards away.
You couldn't believe you went from saving a view like this into your Pinterest board and now you were looking at it first hand, although it couldn't beat the sight of your handsome husband who groaned a sigh of relief as he walked into the room behind you, leaving his crutches against the wall.
Rubbing his neck he praises the service he'd just received, "Goddamn, I think that's the best massage I've ever had--and I've been doing physio for almost a year and a half."
You weren't listening to him.
His skin was absolutely glowing, it must've been the oil they used or maybe Jungkook was just naturally this radiant. Your husband is hot as fuck, you wouldn't put it past him.
"What's that face?" Jungkook looks down at you with an arched brow. Just when you thought he couldn't get any hotter. In his stupid tropical palm-tree-themed button-down that was left open over the white wife beater that hugged his buff chest a little too well.
Your thoughts had gone straight to a sinful place and you were going to make sure to take Jungkook down with you. There's no way he didn't know what he was doing.
It felt like he'd been teasing you all day, from the way he licked the syrup off his fingers at breakfast to the way he moaned softly every so often during the massage.
"Want you to fuck me." You say, on your back, legs spreading on their own accord letting the flimsy material of your sundress give him a brief sight of the black thong that left little to the imagination.
He clears his throat, suddenly fanning his face. You'd never been this bold before. Even with all the sneaky hospital hand jobs and the quickies in storage closets, he'd never seen you get like this before. So... desperate.
"Yeah? What am I supposed to do about that?" His voice was smooth like butter and oozing with confidence. You pout and he just wants to kiss you, "Fine. I'll do it myself." You quip, dropping your hand down between your legs, but before they could even make contact, a strong hand is gripping your wrist.
"What's your problem today? You've been short-tempered all day." He walks towards you, close enough to be standing between your open legs. "Oh, like you don't know." You scoff and suddenly there's a light spank to your outer thigh where your dress had rolled up.
A whorish whine rumbles from your throat, never wanting to admit how much that turned you on. "Be nice." He warns and you roll your eyes, taking a deep breath before your head turns to the side, facing out the window to the beautiful ocean that reflected the setting sun.
"You've been teasing me all day, licking your fingers this morning, then moaning during the massage." Jungkook had to laugh. You were just so cute when you got like this, he could get used to it.
Carefully working you out of your underwear as he spoke, "I had no idea you got so hot and bothered this easily. Is this all it takes?" Bunching up your dress in his hands and pushing it to pool around your stomach as he slowly drops to his knees.
"Let me make it up to you," He purrs, and you can feel the warm air from his lips hit your center sending chills to creep up your spine.
With such little time to react to the feeling of his tongue working skillfully along your wet pussy your hands reached down for his hair, tugging gently. "Oh fuck, that feels so good." Your voice was airy and breathless as your eyes closed, too caught up in the pleasure to keep them open.
Jungkook was a passionate pussy eater, always has been, and always will be. Some guys try to overplay the role of being a 'giver' in bed, thinking it makes them some kind of next-level gentleman who deserves to be praised, but Jungkook was different.
He'd once come untouched just from eating you out and he couldn't look you in the eyes for a good two hours after that.
His soft grunts send a soundwave through your body and add an extra flame into your burning core, flooding with arousal. "Yeah, j-just like that." You moan, grip tightening in his hair and he has to stop his hips from grinding in the air.
His cock was throbbing beneath his shorts and it wanted nothing more than to find solace in the warm walls of your cunt. Meanwhile, he kept himself busy with the brutal pace he'd set with the wet, flat muscle in his mouth.
Flicking your clit rigorously until your moans became higher and more rapid. "Jungkook!-" Your chest began to dampen with sweat as it raised and fell with shallow breaths as you came undone on his tongue, but he refused to pull away until he'd licked up every drop.
Collecting the last of it on his fingers before standing and making lustful eye contact with you, sucking it off his fingers just as you'd imagined he would at breakfast this morning.
With haste, he shimmies out of the rest of his clothes while you toss your dress off to the side and out of mind. Your brain is only able to focus on the swollen head of his cock prodding at your entrance.
"My wife just has the prettiest pussy doesn't she?" The question was rhetorical, but the official title did things to you. It made you want to do bad bad things to him. The kinds of things that could put him back in that wheelchair.
Pushing in slightly then pulling out, the sounds from this action alone left you scatterbrained. "Jungkook. Please!" You begged, pursing your lips with displeasure and he chuckles.
With his arms caging you in at the sides of your head he pushed in, letting his arms leverage him down to drop a wet kiss on your lips, one that you hardly responded to.
Mouth slightly agape as your walls stretched around his girth, "Shit." You curse, "Are you okay? Let me know when I-" Cutting him off with your lips, making a sound of approval that prompted Jungkook to slowly rock his hips forward.
Your cunt sucked in every last inch of him until he bottomed out. "You feel so good, baby." He pants, the strained tone of his words telling you all you need to know.
He wasn't going to last long at all. Jungkook always tried his best to hold out as long as he could when he was with you, and he's sure he would have been able to before the accident but he just couldn't seem to control himself, especially not with you moaning beneath him like this.
"fuck-" He curses, rolling his hips into you with a steady pace. With every thrust your mind goes blank and your nose scrunches. It was a cute habit Jungkook hadn't noticed till recently. The way your nose would scrunch when you were close to your orgasm.
"I'm-" You warn and he grunts, hips rutting into you, deeper, slower.
"Look at me, Y/n." The use of your name was able to have your eyes fluttering to meet his. The eye contact was all too much for you, to look at him while you finished was overstimulating in every sense of the word.
All it took was one glance and you were moaning his name at the top of your lungs and reaching your climax, suddenly thankful that your neighbours were so far away. With one last squeeze of your walls around him, he felt his composure crumble, shooting his hot cum inside you.
Toppling down beside you. The both of you stare up at the ceiling with laboured breaths before turning to face each other.
"What if I just got you pregnant?" You snort, "You just always have something to say don't you?" He smiles, "I'm serious, you never know." Inching towards him, never breaking eye contact, "I think we can handle whatever life throws our way."
After the last year the two of you had gone through, that was most certainly true.

The Counting Game
DreamXD and Dream are enjoying their new life in the Overworld, though it takes time to adjust to certain things. During a thunderstorm, Dream is scared of the loud noise so DreamXD keeps him distracted.
Hello. Surprise. Just a quick fic to post. This was finished in under a week but it was just a quick vent/comfort thing to write for myself. I adore settings where there's a thunderstorm and the characters are cosy. It's just so nice.
Also a little bonus story of Dream and XD in their early days in the Overworld. I'd say Dream is about 10 years old in this fic.
Pls Enjoy
---
The transition to the Overworld had been pretty seamless, all things considered. DreamXD's worry for Dream adapting was quickly eased. His little brother absolutely loved the realm. He was fascinated by all the colours, and ran after every sheep, pig and rabbit; which was a nightmare for XD in the first couple days.
Before he’d left the End, XD had gone to the Kept Library and taken every book he could to learn about the Overworld. He knew it was a different world but he never realised just how different. There was no cold surface of endstone, but instead there was soft grass. XD knew this but he was shocked to see how many different shades of grass there were. He read all about the different flowers but the colours of them all were more breathtaking in real life than just an illustration in a picture. The close, stillness of the End was nearly forgotten on the first night. The warm air and cool night breeze was too pleasant.
Dream was not just okay with the move, but he was excited to learn. His days were spent running around the meadow biome and at night he was curled up in XD’s arms, reading some new book about the Overworld.
Today a sudden rain storm had struck, so Dream’s exploration had ended early and he came home drenched. After a quick dry off and given extra blankets, he fell asleep faster than usual as XD was reading him a book about the ocean monuments. Assured he was safe to go, XD carefully shuffled himself free and retreated to his own room.
XD never needed to sleep but he had made his own room in their house regardless. When they first came to the Overworld the siblings had travelled mostly until XD saw it was straining for Dream. They settled up in a birch forest until Dream wanted to travel again. So the routine became travelling, setting up for a few months and then travelling again.
For now they were set up on a mountain meadow. With XD slowly getting used to the Overworld blocks he set up a cosy house for them. XD’s room was modestly small, just enough for his bed. He had a book open on the villages of the Overworld, learning the different cultures and clans of each biome village. XD knew it would be important for Dream to make friends his own age but anxiety prickled his thoughts. It had been so long since XD spoke with mortals, and he needed to learn their cultures if Dream was to have a chance.
A flash of white filled the room and then there was a clap of thunder. XD gave a look outside to make sure nothing caught fire, and lamented a thunder storm was to be expected from the rain today. He was about to turn a page when his ears flickered to the sound of scuffling.
“XD!" Dream screamed as he burst into the room.
The relaxing atmosphere was instantly gone as XD shot up in his bed. “What is it?!” He opened his arms as Dream jumped up into the bed. A thousand terrible thoughts ran through his head as Dream scrambled into his arms. "What happened?!”
"A-a-a noise! Th-there was a loud noise!" Dream cried out. His eyes were wet with fresh tears. "Something c-crashed!"
"Crashed?" XD tilted his head. Relieved but still cautious he cupped Dream’s cheeks and wiped the tears from his cheeks. “What… Oh! Do you mean the thunder?"
As though given an example there was another crash of thunder, bathing the room in white again and Dream screamed. He buried himself into XD’s side.
“Shhh, it's alright, it's okay Dream." XD soothed their brother. "It's just thunder. We learned about this, remember!”
Dream shook his head into XD's side. While petting Dreams curls, XD waved their hand and materialised another book. They flicked it open at the right page and lowered it to Dream still in their side.
"See? Remember the book about the weather?” XD coaxed. Dream pulled his head from the safety of his brothers side. His green eyes were still wet with tears, and he sniffled as he tried to read.
"See? It's a thunderstorm." As XD's lower set of arms held Dream, he used his upper hands to hold the book steady and trace a finger along the words. “Thunderstorms occur in a type of cloud known as cumulonimbus. They are accompanied by strong winds and often produce heavy rain. They are characterized by the presence of lightning and it’s acoustic effect on the Earth’s atmosphere, known as thunder.”
Dream sniffled as he peeked out of XD’s side. His shaky breaths calming as he pulled himself out. XD smiled to his brother. One thing XD realised early on was a combat of Dream’s fear was knowledge. If he was scared or anxious, XD took him to the library where he’d lose himself in books; fiction or not.
Now it seemed to be working the same way. Dream was carefully reading the book and wiping his eyes clear until another sound of thunder boomed through the house and he retreated back to safety. He only squeaked this time instead of screaming, so it was some progress.
“Come on, Dream. There’s nothing to be afraid of.” XD hushed. “It’s just thunder.”
“I-It’s loud…” Dream sniffled.
XD couldn’t argue there. They closed the book and waved it off to disappear again. Of course it was different learning about something than actually experiencing it. “It won’t be here for long.” XD assured him and brought up the covers to Dream’s shoulder. “Do you want to stay here tonight?”
Dream nodded frantically into XD’s side, peeking out just slightly to ask. “Can-Can I have your cloak?”
XD’s heart warmed and of course he agreed. He waved one of his hands not wrapped around Dream and summoned his long green cloak. It worked well as a blanket, especially for young Dream and it became a comfort to him. Even with the fear of another thunder strike, Dream pulled himself back and reached for the cloak, making grabby hands at it before XD wrapped it around him.
The cloak was far too big for Dream and absolutely engulfed him, but he smiled for the first time since the storm started and cosied into the warm green fabric. He nuzzled himself back into XD’s side, not catching the slight twitch his older brother made. XD had to to hold himself back from giggling, but as the tickling feeling faded, it sparked an idea in XD’s head. A distraction.
“Dream.” XD started innocently. “Do you want to play a game to pass the time? Just until the storm is gone.”
Dream peeked out of the safety of his blanket and looked at XD with wet but curious eyes. “A-A game…?”
XD nodded. “The counting game.” He grinned.
Dream’s eyes lit up with a delighted sparkle and broke out into nervous giggles. “Y-Yehesss…”
XD’s grin widened as he moved himself to sit up. Dream sat up too, though still keeping the cloak wrapped around himself.
The counting game had served well in the past to tire Dream out and put him to sleep. XD figured it would work just as well to keep him distracted until the storm past.
“How many eyes do you have?”
“Two!” Dream squeaked and happily giggled as XD tapped over both his eyelids as he counted.
“One… Two! Correct!” XD praised. “How many noses do you have?”
“J-Juhust one!” Dream giggled when XD booped at his nose.
“So smart you are.” XD cooed. “So how many arms do you have?”
Instead of answering, Dream fell into sweet giggles, and wrapped the cloak tighter around himself.
“That’s not an answer.” XD grinned. “How many arms do you have?”
“T-Two…”
“Show me them.”
Dream squeaked and bundled himself up, as through trying to sink into the cloak blanket.
“I need to count them, Dream…” XD tried to keep his voice serious, but he was smiling too wide to seem actually serious. “Show me your arms.”
The young Dream giggled again but he slowly unwrapped his arms. He carefully brought them out, not really stretching them but enough to show them off. “S-See? Two.”
“Two!” XD agreed and before Dream could pull his arms away, XD stuck his hands into Dream’s armpits and scribbled his fingers in.
Dream squealed, immediately trying to kick away as he pleaded through his high high pitched laughter. XD pulled his hands back, not wanting to overwhelm the little one so soon. “Good job! Two perfect arms.”
XD could see Dream wanted to huff, but his cheeks were red and he smiled so wide. He was too happy to complain.
“Now. How many hands do you have?” XD asked.
Dream answered, showing off his hands and giggling when XD poked them with his claw. He answered ten for his fingers and giggled again as the God slowly counted them out.
“So smart. So smart.” XD praised. “How many legs do you have?”
“T-Twoho…” Dream had the cloak fallen around himself instead of wrapped. He kicked his legs forward just a little bit as though showing them off.
“Good. And how many knees do you have?”
Dream’s head tilted, as it wasn’t usually a question XD asked. “T-Two?”
“You’re right!” XD clamped his hands just above Dream’s knees and squeezed. His other hands held around Dream’s ankles, keeping his legs straight when he inevitably tried to kick them. Dream’s laughter came out in a surprised yelp. He threw his head back into a high pitched squeal and tried to bat XD’s hands away. It of course did no good but XD was merciful and let his hands be pried away.
“Y-Yohou’ve never cohounted my kneeees before…” Dream panted out.
“Well I should. I have to make sure all is right with them.” XD reasoned, though of course it was a lie. The truth was they and Dream recently just found out Dream’s knees were tickly and they wanted to test it out. “Now… How many ribs do you have?”
The squeal Dream made did very little to deter XD from tickling him. In fact it made him want to tickle him more. His little brother fell back from the knee tickling and was now wrapping his arms tightly around himself. “No!” He squeaked out.
“No? Do you not know?!” XD put on an overly dramatic voice and they gasped. “Well we have to find out!”
Before Dream could run, or plead. His hands were easily unwrapped from him and XD’s extra set of arms swooped in. They started at the top, latching on and kneading into the top two ribs.
“Two… Foooour.”
“EHEHEX DEHEHEHE!” Dream laughed as he shook his head side to side. He made weak little kicks into XD’s chest which did not hurt or deter the God at all.
There was another clash of thunder which faltered XD’s tickling a little. It was further away and the room never flashed, but XD waited almost expectedly for Dream to realise. But it seems in the tickling Dream hadn’t heard it. He still laughed over the tickling over his ribs, and screamed with laughter when XD’s fingers kneaded in again.
“I have to count and make sure they’re all there, Dream. Siiiix. Eight.”
XD terrible count stopped eventually, and he pulled back, letting Dream curl up to protect himself. He was panting and tired and XD knew he wouldn’t last long. Time to wrap it up.
“Well you have a perfect amount of ribs. Now how many toes do you have?”
Dream’s panting ended with a gasp as he curled up tighter. He tried to shield his socked feet with his hands, like it was any kind of protection. “T-Ten! I have ten! N-Noho nehehehed to cheheck!”
“Oh but I must check! What if you’ve misplaced one?”
Before Dream could sputter out how impossible that was, his ankles were snatched and he was yanked almost upside down. His socks were pulled off and tossed aside and XD was already grabbing at one of his toes.
“XDEEEEEEE!” Dream squealed as he tried to reach for his feet. It was impossible to reach and trying made Dream giggly from how silly it was.
“You are just making this longer Dreamie~” XD cooed. His fingers wiggled just slightly over Dream’s toes before he grabbed at one again. This time tickling his nail just slightly under it and grinning at Dream’s howl.
“EHEHEHEX DEHEHEHE!”
“One...two...three… You know it’s really hard to keep track of these toes when you’re wiggling them so much.”
“StohOHOP TihihihIHIcklihihing meheHEHE THEHehehen!”
“I am not tickling I am counting your toes. And now you’ve made me lose count again.” XD sighed dramatically as he restarted his counting, much to Dream’s screaming dislike.
Despite XD’s want to restart the count again, he could hear Dream’s laughter grow wheezy and weak. Instead he finished the count, giving a small skitter over Dream’s foot while he let go of his ankle, and watched the foot be yanked back into safety.
Dream was tired, giving out weak giggle between his laughs. His cheeks were rosy and eyes sleepy. XD gave in to his overwhelming love and bundled Dream up in his cloak again, wrapping him tightly in the makeshift blanket.
“N-Noho mohore tihicklihihing.” Dream giggled.
“No more.” XD promised. “Time for sleep.”
The two brothers settled in the bed again. XD looked outside to see the rain slowly letting up and the storm had for the most part moved past them. XD settled on the bed with Dream against the chest. The younger brother let out a loud yawn, and could barely keep his eyes open when XD started purring in his chest. It was like an immediate off switch, knocking Dream out and sending him into a peaceful slumber.
The lanterns in the room dimmed from XD’s magic before turning out completely. The room fell into a nighttime darkness with the sound of the rain softly hitting off the window. XD took in a breath and shut his eyes, letting the calm night atmosphere overtake him before he too fell asleep.
Yes. Moving to the Overworld had been one of the best ideas DreamXD ever had.

RTC HEADCANONS GO ‼️‼️
OMG YES THANK YOU. I HAVE A LOT.
I think that Karnak lets everyone come back to life at the end for two reasons. One: let’s be real, putting them through all that just to bring them all back is such a Karnak thing to do. And two: THEY DESERVE IT GODDAMNIT
Noel’s favorite band is The Smiths
Mischa likes giving Ricky stickers to put on his cane or wheelchair
Ocean is aroace, but didn’t know she was aroace for a long time. She just thought she was “too mature” and “too focused on her schoolwork” to have crushes
Penny lets Noel borrow her dresses sometimes
Constance is extremely prone to infodumping (Penny could listen to her for hours though)
Ricky likes to “accidentally” run over Ocean’s toes with his wheelchair when she babies him
Mischa and Noel actually aren’t that bad at math; Mischa has a C and Noel has a B. Ocean just views anything below an A as “bad”.
Penny dressed up as Jane Doe for Halloween, and the rest of the choir found this hilarious
Taylor Swift is Ocean’s favorite singer and Penny’s celebrity crush
Constance has had a crush on everyone in the choir at some point (including Noel, but this was before he came out)
Ricky and Noel once tried to write a Monique/Bachelor Man crossover, but because their stories and writing styles were so different, it failed miserably. Now Ricky just draws pictures of Monique and the Bachelor Man kissing instead.
Ocean likes to wake up early, and Constance does not. So when they have sleepovers, Constance will often wake up and Ocean will have breakfast ready for her.
Ricky and Noel like to go on double dates with Constance and Penny
Noel and Ricky are both genderfluid. Noel is AMAB and Ricky is AFAB, and they’re both prone to dysphoria. If they had a nickel for every joke they made about switching bodies, Noel would have enough money to move to France and take the whole rest of the choir with him.
After the Cyclone thing, Mischa spends more evenings at Ricky’s place than his own
Prior to the Cyclone, Noel is extremely protective of Constance because of the way Ocean treats her
Mischa once overheard Noel talking about RuPaul’s Drag Race during choir. He thought it was an actual racing show and started watching it. It wasn’t what he expected, but it is now his favorite show. (This is technically semi-canon; in the high school edition, Mischa mentioned this.)
Penny and Noel are the definition of gay/lesbian solidarity
Penny and Constance like to go on picnic dates
Ocean and Noel are basically siblings. They actually do love each other and know each other better than anyone, but they live for getting on each other’s nerves, and Noel isn’t afraid to call Ocean out on her bullshit.
Ricky, Noel, Ocean: cat people
Mischa, Constance, Penny: dog people
They’re all autistic, I don’t make the rules
For Noel’s birthday, Ocean made him a bracelet that said his name with red and green beads (because Christmas). In return, Noel made Ocean a bracelet with her name and orange, yellow, white, blue, and teal beads (because beach colors; little did he know that those would become the aroace colors). They trade those bracelets every time they see each other.
Constance once made the mistake of having Mischa watch Up with her. He cried.
Ocean was Constance’s queer awakening in eighth grade. The crush lasted for about four months. ‘Twas a very awkward four months.
Mischa had a crush on a guy before meeting Talia, but didn’t realize it was a crush at the time because it was the mid 2000s and queerness wasn’t really talked about as much as it is today. When Ricky mentioned being bisexual, Mischa came to the conclusion that he was too.
Penny has what might be the greenest eyes that any of her friends have ever seen on a human
Constance is really good at styling hair, so Ocean and Penny always go to her when they want to have their hair look nice for a concert or contest
Ricky’s really good at doing people’s makeup

The morning was harsh on Joseph's waking eyes as he blinked a couple of times, trying to get to adjust. His head turned to the right, his still blurry eyes meeting your sleeping form. Even with his half awake vision, you look like an angel. He smiled softly as he turned to his side and gently adjusted himself, so he was cuddling up to you. He nuzzled his nose into the crook of your neck, taking in your scent. You felt like home to him. His actions must have woken you up because he felt you stir a bit before trying to turn your head to look at him. "Good morning, handsome." He can't see it, but your smile is as bright as the sun as you reach behind you to pet his hair. "Judging by the grip you have on me, I would say it's a good thing we don't have work today." You giggled as you felt him let out huff before nuzzling more into your neck. It took a good hour full of cuddles, kisses, and sweet nothings whispers before Joseph was ready to let you go. He gave you one final kiss before getting up to start breakfast so you could get ready for the day. You weren't aware of it, but Joseph had a special date planned for the two of you. It wasn't anything fancy, but he knew you would love it. Walking out of your shared room you were greeted by the smell of pancakes and eggs Joseph lovingly made. The two of you enjoyed a nice breakfast making small talk of the studio and your coworkers. When you two are done you gather your dishes and much like before you gave him one last kiss before starting to clean the kitchen while Joseph gets ready for the day. You were drying and putting away the last dish when Joseph was done. Seeing his opportunity to hold you again. He walked up behind you and wrapped his arms around you once more. He gently kissed your neck causing you to giggle. “Why don't you finish getting ready doll. I wanna take you out somewhere.” You turned your head to get a better look at him, one eyebrow raised “Oh yeah? Where are we going?” He chuckled as he unwrapped himself from you. “That's a surprise. Now go on.” you giggled doing as he asked, and excited to see what he had planned.
When he uncovered your eyes to reveal the most beautiful wild area you have ever seen. He had taken you to the Castner Range area of the Franklin Mountains. You had heard from plenty of people that it was a beautiful area, but never got to see it for yourself until now. You turned to him with a big smile on your face. “Oh Joseph, it's beautiful.” He smiled as he took your hand “Just like you. Now come on, there is a path we can walk to see more.” The walk was quiet compared to the growing city, but it was lovely. Seeing all the beautiful Mexican gold poppies made it feel like you were walking through a golden ocean. The two of you were even lucky enough to see a small family of Gambel’s quails! The natural beauty of the place alongside your ever loving boyfriend made it feel almost surreal. You never wanted this moment to end, but when you felt Joseph's movements stop as he let go of your hand letting you walk a little farther from him you knew it was time to go. Just happy that you got to spend this time with him. You turn to meet him to leave. However your eyes met something you never expected. Joseph was down on one knee, an open box in his hand showing a beautiful ring. Surrounded by beautiful flowers, and the sun setting behind made it all seem like a fairytale. “Y/n since the moment i met you have been a blessing to my life. If you let me, I wanna spend the rest of our lives returning all the love, care, and support you have given me. Will you marry me y/n?” You could feel your emotions take over as your vision blurs with tears, and your words leave you. All you could do was nod before running into his waiting arms. You held him tightly feeling if you didn't it would all be a dream you would wake up from at any moment. Joseph must have felt the same as he held you tightly. His face once again pressed into your neck as he cried some tears of his own. You two couldn't wait to spend the rest of your lives together.

TIAM IS Side Stories: A Family Trip
Tumblr media
A little Mina and twins trip.
You and Mina each strap a baby to your chest for the first part of your trip. Ari is on your chest, watching the few people at the station pass by while Hina looks at her mom. As you board the train, you put the stroller into the overhead compartment and take a seat next to Mina. "Kind of exciting, isn't it?"
She smiles and nods. "I'm glad we get to take Ari and Hina out. It's nice. So what did you plan today?"
"There's a park by a beach a little ways away. I thought it would be good to go there." While still in Osaka, you thought it would be fun to take Mina out. You looked around and found Isogi park. A park that was out of the way from most areas. You were only a bit disappointed that it was impossible to get a car. However, you would make the best of the situation. On the train, Ari would try to get Hina's attention most of the ride; unfortunately for her, Hina would be sleeping most of the time. The early morning departure meant that the twins got up early; Ari had much more energy, though, and wanted to play. The lonely train ride to the park left her with few people to interact with. Occasionally you would stand up and look out of the train's windows with Ari still attached. She would bang on the window and babble to herself.
Whenever the two of you caught glimpses of the ocean, Ari would bounce in her pouch. Ari would look at Hina and yell with her unintelligible baby speak to her sister to look outside. "Okay, Ari, don't yell." Mina would say as she stood up and stood next to you. She adjusted Hina so she could see the ocean as it passed. At your first opportunity, you took Mina's hand in your own. Glancing at her, you see her gummy smile; Mina stared out at the ocean. She took small side steps to scoot closer to you. "This is nice."
"Yeah,"
"I'm glad we could spend some time together…just us and our kids." You felt Mina's thumb run over the back of your hand. You lean over and kiss her head.
"It’s nice being able to spend time like this." You and Mina stood watching the ocean in your own little world until it became a city. Ari and Hina cried out, sad that the large gray buildings replaced the blue waves. You and Mina pulled out a few snacks, which calmed them.
Soon enough, you must get off the train and catch a bus that would take you to the park. Once there, Hina and Ari are free to wall around the park. You hold Ari's arm as she tries to tag Hina. Hina is distracted by the trees and doesn't notice until Ari nearly pushes her over. She pouts and has to be consoled by Mina before she chases down Ari. The children spend some time playing around while you and Mina take a seat by a log table. You both laugh as you see a new side of Hina. She had cawed at Ari. "Did she just do that?" Mina asks while laughing.
"She did. Hahaha, I think Hina might have spent too much time with Dahyun."
"Don't say that. I'm sure she learned it from someone else."
"What if she does Dahyun's eagle dance next?" You joke.
Mina covers her mouth as she laughs. "Oh no, imagine our little Hina doing that." You both laugh at the idea and continue to watch the children. Eventually, you pick up Ari.
"Mina, follow me. The ocean is down this little path." Mina follows you along with Hina in tow. You carefully walk down the rocky path and reach the point where the water meets the rocks. Ari and Hina immediately get excited and stare out at the ocean. As you turn your head back, you see Mina's gummy smile form in all its glory. She doesn't notice as you pull out your camera and snap a few pictures of her. Her slightly frazzled hair, Hina attached to her via a carrier, the image made you smile. "I think they like the ocean more than you, Mina."
"Maybe…" she says, nudging your stomach with your elbow. "Hey, I have a question."
"What is it?"
"Am I going to get a ring too?"
"Maybe. Are you jealous of Jihyo?"
"No," Mina says, puffing her cheeks out afterward. "But am I getting one?" She says, her index fingers poking each other as she looks away from you.
You ruffle Mina's hair and kiss her forehead. "Don't worry about that, Mina. I won't ruin a surprise."
You both stand there and walk down the rocky path catching different glimpses of the ocean before eventually returning to the park.
"We should get back and get something to eat." You say, ending the little date to the park. You think that you may have to plan your proposal sooner than later now that Mina’s started asking about it.

To Soothe a Heartache
Tumblr media
An: Kaoru apology piece! My search history for this thing too lol. Isolation works a lot faster than it's portrayed to in media. The average person can't go longer than a day in extreme isolation (extreme basically meaning adding in sensory deprivation from how the studies pose it)
Tw: yandere, implied isolation, implied kidnapping, man is abusive, mind break, Stockholm? Either of those two. (Little hint, read between the lines because Kaoru... Isn't the most reliable)
Today was perfect.
Nice and hot, blue skies with just a little bit of clouds in them, the smell of the beach, and having you by Kaoru's side. You held his hand as usual. You liked to hold on tight to Kaoru and hated to let go or have him leave you for even a second.
Completely perfect.
You sat in Kaoru's lap on a beach chair, loosely hugging him. The fact that you were willingly cuddling him again, the oceanic scene, and just everything about you made him happy beyond belief.
The perfect date for the both of you.
You were so obedient nowadays too!
No more fighting or trying to push Kaoru away, instead, you willingly embraced him, in both forms of the word.
Yes, you may have been a little 'damaged', but it was necessary for your relationship to flourish.
After all, everything he did, he did out of pure and utter love for you.
He heard of you from rumours first.
A seductive type who practically made your dreams come true.
Of course, being who Kaoru was, he was interested.
Then he met you for himself.
He knew you were pursuing him in the beginning. Kaoru thought he'd have enough experience and caution to not fall head over heels for you, But there was just something about you.
Something about you made him feel complete.
You filled the hole that was drilled into his heart with his mother's death and his ever painful relationship with his family.
He just had to have you.
So he took you for himself.

He even gave you a place, it was pleasant and roomy too. A nice big room in one of the houses his father gave him. It was quiet and secluded there too, in a sleepy rural area that was easy to get to from the city.

He was good to you. He cared for your every need and want. He took good care of you. Kaoru was a good boyfriend, a good lover.
Yet you always seemed to fight him.
You wouldn't even let Kaoru hug you. And it depressed him deeply. You even tried to leave him on multiple occasions, saying that Kaoru was holding you captive. You ignored him, pretended he wasn't even there.
He just wanted your touch, he wanted that unconditional love of yours to return. He wanted you to let him in, let him love you.
Weeks went by, same as always no matter what Kaoru did.
He was starting to tire of your defiant tendencies.
He had read studies on isolation before…
It only took a few hours to put most people into a highly volatile emotional state if they were in full isolation…
Though considering the situation, he could just play it safe and do it for the whole day…
It was the practically same strategy he usually used to make women fall for him. He just needed something stronger to get you emotional enough for him to work with. Invoke high emotions and ride the waves…
Maybe he could.
But that would be bad, wouldn't it?
But both of you had to be tired of all this…
He'd be doing your relationship a solid, just reminding you of how much you loved him…
It truly pained Kaoru to hear you scream for him.
You begged to be let out after only an hour.
And all he had to do was blindfold you, put some good noise cancelling headphones on you, and tie you up in a cozy and safe room in the house.
Eventually, when he knew it was the right time, Kaoru let you out, taking all of the makeshift sensory deprivation equipment off you.
Immediately, you ran into his arms and held Kaoru tight.
He could feel your love for him, your heart was racing and your breathing unsteady with just how much you loved him. You had even cried from how much you missed him.
 Perfect.
See? He knew you just needed a little push. You said that you'd be a good lover for him and tried to hold Kaoru as close as possible. You even asked to sleep in his bed for the night.
That was the first time you slept in the same bed as him.
And he was sure it wouldn't be the last.
From then on, everything was so bright and pleasant for Kaoru.
You were finally warming up to him, being friendly and truly being his lover.
You cuddled with him, said I love you, even initiated affection with him.
Kaoru just knew that everything was going to be perfect from then on.
Now this? This was heavenly.
He could be as clingy and loving ad he wanted now as well. And of course, you held Kaoru's hand below the waters.
Kaoru had persuaded you into going in the ocean with him, a life jacket on just in case of course. After all, you did have a tendency to get all… distant at times. No matter, he'd love you no matter how you were.
After all, you were the only thing that could soothe his heartache.

To go with the penny and mischa headcanons could you do some for noel? I love your other ones smmm
Absolutely I can noel is literally my number one fav and he is rotating around my brain at all times like a microwave
- as a kid he ABSOLUTELY wore his mother's high heels/fancy dresses and had a little tea party on a regular basis with all his stuffed animals bc DUH. He would force his mom to participate but she loved it
- she would paint his nails as often as he asked her to and in whatever color he picked. She'd have a giant collection of colors/glitter/etc and some of his earliest/favorite memories would be of him sitting on her bed getting his nails done and watching reality tv or a devastating french film he's DEFINITELY too young to be seeing
- he is also a giant theater kid and is only in the choir because he was banned from being in the school's plays after the waiting for godot incident
- everyone loves "nischa where Mischa is oblivious to Noel's flirting" but in my heart and soul it's the other way around
- bro is clueless fr Mischa could literally walk up to him and say "I am in love with you noel gruber and I want to marry you" and he'd be like ha imagine. Obviously you'd never mean that though
- was definitely given makeup from his mother for a birthday or something and it's all subtle enough that he can wear it places without people REALLY noticing but he knows it's there (it's like, clear mascara and tinted chapstick but he definitely cried when he opened it)
- side note he definitely has one of the nicest moms out of everyone in the choir??? People hc that she's an alcoholic for some reason and it's like. Nah she's his number one biggest fan fr !!!! We would know if she was 💀
- she doesn't KNOW about Monique per se but she's definitely seen the outfit in his laundry and just never brought it up
- because I know for a fact he's had it in his closet for YEARS and wore it for funsies when he knew nobody was home. Definitely has the entire choreography of cell block tango PERFECTED
- even before he worked at taco bell he high key hated it and that was just amplified with all the shit he had to deal with at that job
- everyone else in the choir literally loves it and it annoys him to no end
- half of his texts with ocean are "hello!! How is my favorite member of the choir today 😄😄" "what do you want ocean" "Baja blast please" "okay."
- he loves ocean like a sibling your honor. They're literally mlm wlw hostility but in a best friends way
- ESPECIALLY AS KIDS when they were kids they were just best friends it was him ocean and constance. But then she beat him at duck duck goose and their relationship was never the same (this is canon to me)
- my favorite thing is making them all best friends with Constance even before the accident because of course they were
- she was the nicest girl in town!! I know her yearbook was signed with a bunch of meaningless "I never met you but you seemed nice" crap
- but my personal theory is that noel, ocean and constance were a lil trio in elementary school and then ocean and noel became mortal enemies (/hj) so they grew apart
- and that's why they're allowed to bully each other relentlessly bc they're basically siblings at this point
- titanic was one of his fav movies before he discovered french new wave cinema but he didn't cry much when he watched it (and if he did, it's because he was wishing a stranger he met on a cruise in the 20s would die for him the way jack did for rose)
[I don't know why I have titanic headcanons for basically every member of the choir I don't even like it THAT much???]
- also he insists there was no room for Jack on the door (he's right)
- he has a black cat named Lola. There isn't much to this hc but I just think it's objectively true.
- On the rare occasion the choir would hang out before the accident and the rarer occasion it was at Noel's house, Ricky would ignore everyone completely and make a beeline to the cat
- the first time Ricky came over he said "you have a cat, don't you?" And noel just kinda looked at him like ???? Before eventually saying "yes... But how did you know that?"
- he loves rain and thunderstorms from the comfort of his home but will literally not be caught DEAD stepping foot outside in it without an umbrella + rain boots + jacket because he doesn't want his clothes to get wet. And he's real for this
- speaking of noel and being dead (I am a god of segues), before he left for school the day of the accident he said these exact words to his mom: "farewell mother. I'm off to die in a tragic accident, don't wait up for me, for I will not return to you in this lifetime"
- this would have been a common way for him to say goodbye to her, and she would always roll her eyes and say "oh how will I go on without you! Surely the grief would be too much for me to bear! I shall stay up at night, clutching an article of your clothing as a single limpid tear rolls down my cheek" And then laugh and tell him to be safe
- and then he actually dies in a tragic accident
- oops #rip
- I don't know why, but imagining Noel's mother after the accident always made me so much sadder than the rest of the choir 😭 I just imagine that they were super duper close for basically his whole life
- also, despite yearning for this whole tragic life I feel like he's super squeamish?? He cannot stand the sight of blood or vomit
- maybe in his fantasy part of that is he can actually handle the things that end up happening in the movies he likes
- also I refuse to believe that their favorite rides aren't somewhat related to something that happened the day of the fair itself
- what I'm saying is basically he rode the ferris wheel with Mischa and almost lost his god damn mind
- it would have been so romantic if he knew his crush was probably mutual
- and finally. Nischa holding onto each other for dear life when things started going wrong and having to be pulled apart post mortem
Thank you for your time this is literally so long and I could come up with so many more

Rotxo x Male Omaticaya OC (AWoW Spoilers)
Tesayo had flown so long that he wasn’t sure he would ever catch up to the Sully’s having only found out where they had gone a day before he left.  It had been weeks since they left and Tesayo decided that he missed his brother Neteyam too much to stay in the forest.  They had been friends for fifteen years of his seventeen-year life and he couldn’t just let him go.  He had gotten word from listening in on a conversation Norm was having with Tarsem, the new olo’ektan. They had fled to the Metkayina clan on a distant reef across the ocean.  Norm had been mentioning it after a trip there to help Kiri.  Jake had taught him how to read some of the tools the sky people used and after hearing the conversation Tesayo snuck into Norm’s gunship to get the flight path of where he’d gone.  He had taken his Ikran, Acala, the next day and set flight.  The trip was long and dangerous, there were few spots to rest over the water and the weather had not been favourable.  He could feel through tsaheylu that the Ikran was tired and starting to protest the flight, he rubbed the back of its neck as they flew on trying to comfort him.
“Easy Acala, I know you are tired.  We will rest soon,” he spoke softly.  The winds were starting to pick up again and it eclipse was starting.  The pattern on Acala’s back lit up as the sun began to hide.  The wind brought the rain and the Ikran’s body was slick, lightning struck the water nearby startling the Ikran.  It struck again in quick succession startling Acala and it threw Tesayo from its back.  Fear hit hard as he fell from the sky toward the water, Acala dove for him but missed just as Tesayo hit the water.  He took a breath before he was forced under by the heavy current, he hadn’t spent much time in the water but considered himself an above-average swimmer.  Tesayo kicked at the water unsure where to even go he could hear Acala’s screams over the wind as he pushed himself above water. The current quickly became too much for him as he struggled with nowhere to go.  He at one point had caught a glance of three large stones sticking up out of the water but knew he would never make it swimming.  One last crash was all he remembered before losing consciousness.
Tesayo opened his eyes to find himself inside a hutch, it was relatively quiet and he could hear the sound of the ocean around him talking in the distance.  He sat up slowly and took a look around.  There was no one in the small hutch with him, he could see there were two other beds present and a fire pit in the centre of it.  His head hurt and his mouth tasted strange, he could tell he had swallowed a lot of water and his body was aching all over.  His first thought was of Acala and he hoped he had made it to land along with him his second was to find out where he was.  He grunted as he stood up slowly realizing his abdomen had been bandaged with a plant not familiar to him.  He could feel the gash underneath so he left it be as he staggered out of the hutch. The warm sun hit his face and the heat felt nice after what he had endured getting here but he found the light blinding.  He stepped out of the hut and what he expected to be a solid surface seemed to bend under his feet he quickly lost his balance and cried out in pain.
“What are you doing?  You shouldn’t be up yet, you’re hurt,” said someone from behind. Tesayo rolled on his back as the voice reached for him.  A turquoise-skinned, green-eyed Metkayina boy with short curls and a broad nasal ridge picked him up and walked him back into the hutch.  “Tsahik Ronal says you should rest for today.”  The boy walked Tesayo over to one of the beds and helped him sit. “We found you washed up on shore at three brothers rock,” he explained.  “The rocks there are sharp, it cut you up badly.”  The boy placed a gentle hand on Tesayo’s side.  “The wrap will help it heal quicker the pain should be gone in a day or two.”
“I see you brother thank you,” said Tesayo, “I am Tesayo of the Omaticaya clan.  What do I call you?”
“I am Rotxo, and I see you. Eywa smiled at you, you are lucky Aonung and I found you.  We weren’t supposed to be out there.  Tonowari forgave us because we found you.”  Rotxo sat down beside him.  “Why did you come all this way?  Are you looking for the Sullys?”  Tesayo’s eyes widened at the mention of the name.  He had been distracted by the pain.
“Yes are they still here?” asked Tesayo, urgently. He sat forward to stand but the pain in his side quickly stopped him.
“Yes.  They are Metkayina now.   They’re staying here,” said Rotxo.
“I didn’t come here to bring them back.  I came to find Neteyam.”
“Oh…”  Rotxo lowered his head and looked away. “I’m sorry Tesayo, Neteyam is dead.  He was killed in a fight with the sky people only a few days ago.  He is with Eywa now.”  Tesayo could feel his heart sinking in his chest.  “They attacked our Tulkun trying to find JakeSully.  We had to fight to save them and…”  Rotxo stuttered and tears seemed to come from nowhere as he looked at the two other beds in the hutch.  “My parents were both lost in the fight as well.”   Tesayo felt tears well up in his eyes too as the two of them sat quietly.  His heart hurt thinking that Neteyam was gone and remembered the pain of losing his parents. He knew how Rotxo felt. Tesayo fought through the pain of both his body and his heart to sit closer to the young Metkayina and took his hand.  Rotxo looked at their hands then up at Tesayo tears streaming down his face.
“I’m sorry about your parents, the sky people took mine as well,” said Tesayo.  The boy brought an arm up and put it around Tesayo and they held each other close finding comfort in their shared loss.

Summary: When Garnet ends up unfusing during battle, old feelings resurface within Pearl.
It was a bright afternoon. As humans might say, Pearl's head was in the clouds. Amethyst was off doing something childish with Steven, leaving Pearl and Garnet with some appreciated privacy. They hadn't made any plans for the day, instead taking things easy and lounging on the beach shore. The ocean waves, an everyday sight, looked especially lovely today.

Garnet's hand found hers, and Pearl shifted her gaze from the water to look at her, feeling the familiar swell of love in her chest. It had taken them years to get here, but their relationship was built on an unshakeable foundation of trust. Pearl felt that their relationship was as strong as a lifetime. As Garnet's three eyes met hers, Pearl felt truly seen.
Suddenly, the sky darkened. A colossal shadow loomed overhead as a gigantic corrupted gem crashed down in front of them. Pearl leapt in front of Garnet, spear drawn. The monstrous gem was too quick. In an instant, it slammed Pearl aside, then seized Garnet in its gnarled claws.
Garnet struggled against its grip. Her form flickered, wavered, then burst apart in a flash of light. Ruby and Sapphire tumbled to the ground where Garnet had stood.
"Garnet!" Pearl cried, scrambling over to help Ruby up.
Ruby's eyes blazed with fury. "That thing's gonna pay for this!" She charged at the corrupted gem with reckless abandon.
Sapphire glided after her, ice crystals materializing in her hands. "Ruby, wait!"
Pearl watched them, her heart sinking. Seeing Ruby and Sapphire apart was jarring now that she was with Garnet. She could feel a tightness in her gem that she hadn't felt since--
She loved Garnet--them, but could she ever truly be part of this? Did she even belong with them? Doubt gnawed at Pearl's mind as she moved to rejoin the fray. She had to stay focused. Her feelings would have to wait.
Pearl pushed her doubts aside and leapt into battle. She slashed at the corrupted gem with her spear while Ruby rained down a barrage of fiery punches. Ice crystals shot through the air as Sapphire assisted with her icy projectiles.
The corrupted gem thrashed and swiped at them, but it was outmatched by the synchronicity of their movements. With one final blow, the monstrous gem dissipated in a puff of smoke, leaving only a small gemstone behind.
"We did it!" Ruby cheered, pumping her fist in the air. Overcome with excitement, she pulled Sapphire into a tight hug. Then she grabbed Pearl's hand and yanked her into the embrace before Pearl could react.
Pearl stood rigid, arms pinned at her sides. Ruby and Sapphire gazed adoringly at each other, their special connection apparent. Pearl felt like an outsider intruding on their intimate moment.
Old memories flooded Pearl's mind. She saw flashes of Rose and Greg together, their unique closeness that had left her feeling excluded and inadequate. Pearl tensed, willing the painful images away.
This was different, she told herself. She cared for Ruby and Sapphire. But the familiar ache still lingered, bringing with it those old fears of not measuring up. Pearl gently extricated herself from the hug, feigning nonchalance.
"We should get back to the temple," she said evenly. "More corrupted gems could show up at any time."
Ruby and Sapphire shared a look. "Yeah, you're probably right," said Ruby. She squeezed Sapphire's hand, smiling. "But it's nice getting to spend some time together like this!"
Sapphire nodded, leaning into Ruby affectionately. Pearl averted her gaze, pushing down the unease rising within her. Without another word, the three Crystal Gems set off for home.
Pearl walked a few paces behind the pair, observing their intimate interactions. They laughed and whispered to each other, lost in their own little world.
Pearl wrapped her arms around herself. She knew their love was deep and unwavering. But now, seeing their connection so openly, she couldn't ignore the gnawing feelings of doubt and insecurity.
"You two should fuse back into Garnet," Pearl said, trying to sound nonchalant. "It's safer in case another corrupted gem shows up."
Ruby and Sapphire stopped and turned. "What's the rush?" asked Ruby. "We just took down that monster together. I think we'll be fine for a little while longer."
Sapphire gave Pearl a searching look. "Is something wrong, Pearl?"
"No, of course not!" Pearl gave a nervous laugh, waving her hands in front of her. "I just think we shouldn't stay separated too long, that's all."
"If you say so," Ruby said, clearly unconvinced. She slid her arm around Sapphire's waist. "But I'm kinda liking this. It's nice being able to look at you, Sapphire."
Sapphire smiled, a light blue blush coloring her cheeks. Pearl looked away, discomfort written across her face. She quickened her pace, eager to get back to the temple and the comfort of solitude.
Pearl walked briskly, keeping her gaze fixed ahead as the pair trailed leisurely behind her. She could hear their playful banter and occasional laughter, each sound like a needle pricking her gem.
Why did their closeness bother her so much? She had spent countless years with Ruby and Sapphire, both fused as Garnet and occasionally unfused. But now, things felt different.
Ever since she and Garnet had become romantically involved, the dynamics between the three of them had shifted. Pearl always respected Ruby and Sapphire's relationship within Garnet. But now seeing that connection openly, without the fusion...it triggered memories and old wounds.
As the temple came into view, Pearl quickened her pace even more. She needed time alone to process her conflicted feelings. If she was going to move forward with this new arrangement, she would have to let go of her past.
Ruby and Sapphire entered behind her, their fingers intertwined. Pearl busied herself tidying the already spotless kitchen area, avoiding eye contact.
"Is everything okay, Pearl?" Sapphire's voice was gentle but knowing.
"Of course!" Pearl replied with forced cheeriness. "Just thought I'd get a head start on some chores."
Ruby frowned, unconvinced. But she simply squeezed Sapphire's hand and said, "If you say so. We'll be in the living room if you need us."
Pearl nodded mutely. As they turned their backs on her, she slumped against the counter, heaving a deep sigh. She cared for them both, deeply. But navigating the complexities of their relationship would not be easy.
Pearl longed to retreat to her room where she could take time to process her feelings in solitude, but she could not think of a convincing excuse to do so. She had been so excited to spend the day with Garnet that morning. Taking a moment to compose herself, she followed Ruby and Sapphire to the living area. She found them curled up together on the couch, Sapphire's head resting on Ruby's shoulder. Pearl hovered awkwardly near the coffee table.
"Oh, Pearl! Come sit with us," Ruby said brightly, patting the cushion next to her.
Pearl perched on the edge of the couch. An uncomfortable silence descended.
"So..." Ruby began, "I know this is kinda new for all of us."
Pearl nodded, staring fixedly at the floor.
"But we're all in this together!" Ruby continued earnestly. "If you're with Garnet, you're with both of us. We're a package deal."
Pearl flinched almost imperceptibly. Ruby's words, though well-intentioned, only accentuated her nagging feelings of inadequacy.
"Of course," she replied thinly. "Garnet has always been both of you."
Sapphire gave Ruby's hand a gentle squeeze, wordlessly cautioning restraint. Sensing the growing tension, she changed the subject, her tranquil voice smoothing the prickliness between them.
The conversation moved to lighter topics, but Pearl's discomfort lingered. This new dynamic would require some adjustment from all of them. For now, she took comfort in the fact that their bond remained strong, however complicated their relationship had become.
The conversation lulled. Pearl's gaze drifted once more to Ruby and Sapphire's intertwined hands. A familiar ache bloomed in her chest.
Sapphire's eye settled on Pearl, her expression unreadable. "Pearl," she began gently. "Is everything all right?"
Pearl jerked her head up. "Of course! Why wouldn't it be?" Her bright tone rang false.
Sapphire waited patiently.
Pearl dropped her gaze again. "I've always accepted your relationship as Garnet," Pearl continued. "It's just...strange seeing you two like this," she admitted.
"How so?" Sapphire prodded.
Pearl wrapped her arms around herself. "It makes me think of...the past. Of Rose, and..." She trailed off, throat tightening.
Understanding dawned on Sapphire. "You're afraid we'll make you feel like an outsider. Like you did with Greg."
Pearl flinched at the truth being laid bare. "I-I know it isn't rational," she stammered. "But I can't seem to stop those old feelings from resurfacing. The fear that I'll be left behind."
"Hey." Ruby's voice was gentle. She took Pearl's hand. "What you went through back then was real hard. But we aren't Rose and Greg."
"I know," Pearl whispered.
Sapphire's eye gave her an inquisitive look. "Do you feel for us what you did for Rose?"
Pearl sputtered nervously. "W-what? Of course not!"
Sapphire took her hands, smiling. "Our relationship is not the same as what you had before. We are all equals."
"We'll never leave you behind. We're family," Ruby said firmly. "All of us. And we've got your back, no matter what."
The ache in Pearl's gem loosened.
Sapphire rested a delicate hand on her shoulder.
"What Ruby and I have is special," she said softly. "But so is what the three of us share as Garnet. There's room for both."
Warmth blossomed in Pearl's chest. She clasped their hands, tears pricking her eyes. "I don't want my past hurts to taint what we have," she whispered. "You two mean everything to me."
Ruby grinned. "We'll deal with them together, Pearl. All of us."
"Thank you." Pearl pulled them both into a fierce hug. There was still much to unpack between the three of them. But for now, Ruby's steadfast loyalty and Sapphire's compassion soothed her battered spirit.
Pearl pulled back from the hug, a serene smile on her face. The anxiety that had twisted her insides earlier was gone, replaced by a sense of belonging.
"I'm sorry for how I acted," she said. "My insecurities got the better of me. But I know now that what we have is different from before. This is special."
Ruby pumped her fist. "You got that right! We're an awesome team."
Sapphire adjusted her bangs. "Our love makes us stronger. In any form."
Pearl nodded, determination in her eyes. "Together, we can handle anything the future brings. I won't let my past hold me back anymore."
She turned to look out over the horizon, picturing the challenges yet to come. With Ruby and Sapphire by her side, she no longer feared them.
There was a flash of light as Ruby and Sapphire fused back into Garnet. Pearl gazed up at the taller gem, love and trust shining in her expression. Garnet adjusted her visor and smiled.
"We are the Crystal Gems," she said, placing a hand on Pearl's shoulder. "No matter what form we take, our bond will endure."
Pearl covered Garnet's hand with her own. The gems stood side by side, facing the future with courage. Their relationship ran deeper than fusion or romance. Forged in trust and communication, it was unbreakable. United, they were so much more than the sum of their parts.

Yo! It’s me again, seagull anon. Nice to meet you again. Today, I bring more cursed stories. When I was 6 or younger, I was at the beach with some buddies. At some point, I got swept in a pretty large wave. Couldn’t see at all because of the salt. My family was screaming my name but my idiotic brain thought they were coming from the ocean. I stared walking towards it and another wave got me. My parents had to drag me out. I almost cried because my Mario puzzle piece I found on the ground was long gone.
The Mario piece was calling your name from in the waves

Kyrie's Changes
day 26 merpeople. I'd had a plan for this and it definitely changed to be more angsty lol. This is definitely far in the future and Kyrie has something wrong with him. (Definitely hints at the danger Kyrie's size can pose in general)
Kyrie's Changes
Melody sighed as she finally sat back on her couch. Today was the first in weeks someone wasn’t around and she was going to just relax after spending the morning cleaning. She sort of wished Kyrie could be with her though. It would be nice to sit together not having anything special planned. It didn’t happen often, either he was trying to make her like the ocean or she was teaching him more English. At least he could hold somewhat of a conversation now.
She finally opened a book to read when she thought she heard something impossible. She waited a few minutes before she heard it again, positive it was one of Kyrie’s chirps. Byssal and Pelago said none of them would be around for a few weeks. She jumped up and ran outside terrified of why he’d be nearby in that case. She dropped the book she still held when she saw him.
He looked more pale than normal. His face was contorted like he was in pain. He had low quiet chirps sounding almost constantly. She ran down the hill towards the beach. His eyes opened slightly as she stumbled and shouted. He chirped louder and she jumped, he sounded different. She finally made it to his face and put her hands on his nose.
“Kyrie?” she asked. He chirped, but didn’t move. He always pressed his nose against her, something had to be wrong. “Kyrie what’s wrong?”
“Hungry,” he groaned. She laughed a bit, if this was all because he hadn’t eaten it was a relief. She patted his nose as he chirped some more. “Hurt.”
“Kyrie, I know you can speak more clearly, what do you mean?” Hurt scared her. Byssal and Pelago weren’t around.
“Hurt.” He barely moved, she wouldn’t find out anything like this.
“Where are Byssal and Pelago?” Her eyes went wide as one of his hands moved. She watched, expecting him to point somewhere, but he rested it against his stomach. She stiffened, the image of that other merfolk he’d bitten jumped to her mind.
“Gone.”
“What do you mean gone!?” She didn’t want to think he’d act like that, but maybe he would. She didn’t know what to think of merfolk, how they actually acted. She may not know him like she thought.
“Gone.” He pressed his hand firmer against his stomach. She felt sick. Caprice will kill him when he gets back. Pelago and Byssal were better parents to him than their own. She almost screamed as Kyrie’s other arm moved and trapped her.
“Kyrie, what are you doing?”
“Mine.”
She widened her eyes and backed away from him. He wasn’t acting like the man she knew. She wanted to hide inside, to have not decided to come out here to check. She didn’t get to move far before two huge fingers pinched her sides. She tried to squirm but he lifted her off the ground. She stared at his eyes, terrified of what was going to happen.
“Soft… pretty,” he mumbled. She didn’t know what that meant anymore. He always said she was soft, but now it felt terrifying. She screamed as he brought her close. His eyes weren’t the right color anymore, turning a blue like the dark trenches of the ocean. “Mine.”
“K-Kyrie. Put me down!” she shouted.
She didn’t want to stutter, but her fear was starting to win. She didn’t think singing would do anything. He ignored her and pressed her against his face. She hated this and she wanted to be put down. He chirped more, she sort of knew they were happy sounds. She started pushing against his face, desperate to get away. He let her go for only a second before his fingers were back and holding her arms down.
“Mine. Stay,” he ordered. She kicked at his face and tried to use all her strength to make him let go.
“I said put me down!” she cried. Her voice cracked as tears started down her face. He usually listened to her.
He squeezed her a bit and let out happy chirps again. She bit her lip, settling on what might work. She started to sing, old lullabies she used when babysitting as a kid. Anything that might make him let go. It seemed to do the opposite, he brought her closer to his eyes and kept staring at her. It didn’t look like he even saw her.
Kyrie finally moved his other hand from his stomach. He put a finger to her face, it made her stop singing and struggle to breath through her crying. He made some chirps that sounded almost angry before finally setting her down on the ground. She thought she could get away, but he folded his arms around her and rested his head on them. She was trapped, almost entirely encompassed by him.
“Sing,” he said, here his voice echoed and almost hurt her ears. She glared up at his chin.
He was demanding she sing now. She stayed quiet, curling up on her side in the sand. She just wanted him to leave. She didn’t think she’d ever want to see him again if this was some honest version of him. She pictured his eyes, they were so empty. He completely ignored what she was saying.
She watched as he breathed, unsure what was going to come next. She didn’t even know how much time was passing. Melody was convinced she fell asleep for a bit. Then something happened. Kyrie was changing, it was horrifying. The space around her seemed to get bigger. She could see as his body seemed to grow.
Melody had forgotten he wasn’t done growing when they met. He was already so much bigger than her. If he was like this now she was terrified to find out how much worse it would get. He did finally move so she could see the sky again, but it made it worse. His arm blocked her from leaving and she could see clearly as he got bigger. The hand closest to her slowly inching to a larger and larger size.
She stared in horror as the claws she’d started to grow used to seemed to get longer and sharper. They changed from a light blue that matched the water to a deep green almost black. She looked back to his face, she couldn’t see his expression. His hair was getting longer as he seemed to just expand. The shade of black she thought would stand out in the water was changed to a blue she’d never seen before.
Kyrie let out a chirp, it sounded deeper, almost more menacing. She knew the sound shouldn’t be, but she couldn’t hear it any other way. She fell to her knees as she watched him change. She could feel the heat from him, he must have a fever. She knew humans sometimes got sick when they grew, she imagined it’s just as bad for merfolk.
Achingly slowly his face turned to her. He smiled and she screamed. His teeth were sharper and a bit bloody. She didn’t want to know where that blood came from. He moved to get closer to her and she tried to back away. She wound up right in his hand. He just kept a smile as those inhuman eyes stared at her.
“Mine,” he said. His voice was louder, deeper, and terrifying. She didn’t want to be his.
“No I’m not!” she shouted. He just chirped at her and leaned closer. He shut his eyes again and she was stuck with barely enough room to avoid touching his face or hand. She wanted to be out of this horrible situation.
He made a sound she didn’t know and stopped moving. She hugged herself as she tried to stay away from his skin. His hand was still growing, it was terrifying with his eyes so close to see how his face changed. He looked less kind and she didn’t know if it was her own imagination or this growth spurt. It slowed to a stop after some time that felt far too long. She silently cried begging for this to end.
“Melody?” Byssal’s voice sounded.
She flinched, sure she only heard him from being near Kyrie’s mouth. She tried to scream when fingers much smaller than the ones around her picked her up. One finger covered her mouth, leaving room for her to see above the digit keeping her silent. She couldn’t describe her relief finding Byssal staring at her with concern.
He put a flat palm below her and let her go. She couldn’t believe he was alive. She started to cry more, grabbing his finger tightly. He didn’t seem to like her, but she didn’t care. She heard so much from Caprice and Kyrie, she cared about him. She wouldn’t recover if Kyrie had hurt him either. Byssal used a finger to rub her back and she let out a watery laugh.
“I thought you were dead,” she cried. She felt the gentle rubbing stop for a second before it picked up again. Byssal pulled his hand closer and she looked up to him. He had a reassuring smile she never would have expected.
“I’m fine, so is Pel. We’d gone to get supplies and came back to find him gone,” he whispered. She nodded into his finger holding it tighter. At least that meant she hadn’t been totally wrong about Kyrie.
“I-I’d hoped that was what he meant, but then his teeth were bloody and-”
Melody was cut off by a loud growl. She stiffened with her eyes going wide as it seemed to get louder. She knew it wasn’t coming from Byssal. A huge shadow cast over them and she tried to convince herself it wasn’t who she thought. Byssal’s hand started to move closer to his chest and she saw the strange new claws appear as Kyrie grabbed him. She could feel Byssal’s muscles flexing as he tried to pull free.
“Mine,” Kyrie growled. She shook as that voice spoke. It didn’t sound like Kyrie anymore, she couldn’t make herself connect this person to who she knew. She could see his hand tightening around Byssal and started to panic. It seemed like Kyrie was going to break his arm.
“Kyrie, it’s fine ju-” Byssal tried, but Kyrie growled louder, cutting him off.
Melody didn’t know what to do, she just watched as Kyrie started to move more. Byssal’s hand moved slightly as he tried to pull his arm free. As the other hand that seemed to have doubled in size came up she realized he intended to grab her. She didn’t know what to do, any attempt to get away would just end up worse for her and Byssal. She was completely lost and wound up sitting still as two fingers pinched her again.
She was pulled off the hand quickly. Her stomach dropped and she let out a new scream. Kyrie growled again seemingly in response. She felt his hold on her tighten, thankfully not enough to hurt her. She started to cry as she was brought up and up and up to his face. Her mind blanked when she was brought to a stop in front of an open mouth.
“K-Kyrie?” she whispered. The hand holding her moved closer to his teeth. They were sharper and bloody and she started flailing. He let go of Byssal to grab her in his other hand, pinning her arms to her side again. He opened his mouth wide. “Please don’t! Please let me go! Kyrie please! Please!”
“Kyrie!” Byssal yelled. She winced, it was loud enough to hurt her ears. Kyrie moved her into his mouth. She kept screaming and begging him to let her go. He didn’t seem to care what she wanted anymore. He hadn’t let her go yet, but she could see straight into his throat. She was going to die. “It’s ok. I’m leaving. You don’t have to protect her. It’s alright.”
She was shaking as Byssal’s voice got softer. Of course he’d leave her alone like this, she knew he hated humans and she was more one than anything else. Kyrie growled, the smell of fish was blown in her face as he did. He pressed her into his mouth for a second before letting out a calmer noise she never heard before.
He slowly pulled her out and returned to where he’d been laying on the sand. He let her go and sand covered her from where she’d gotten wet. She kept crying terrified of what would happen next. Kyrie pulled himself out of the water and curled around her. She could see the way his scales had changed now, a much darker blue she’d never notice was moving normally. He curled up where she had just enough space to sit down before letting out a few chirps.
“Mine,” he trilled. She cried harder, she should never have trusted merfolk.
It was hours before he moved again. When he did she screamed from the space getting even tighter. This time he pulled away, almost like he listened. She wasn’t getting her hopes up like that. She wouldn’t dare look up as he slowly sat up from where he’d been laying. She didn’t want to see those eyes anymore. She wanted to go home, home was only half a minute away.
“Melody?” he said. His voice was quiet this time, almost like how she knew it. It was still deeper, almost darker in a way. She started shaking. “What’s going on? Why are you out here like this?”
“Kyrie!” Byssal yelled. She felt relieved, he’d actually come back. Kyrie’s hands, hands twice as big as she’d grown used to, surrounded her. He was going to try to kill her again. She started screaming and the hands actually pulled away, but still kept her hidden.
“Byss, what’s going on?” She couldn’t believe he actually had no idea.
“Thank the tides you’re clear headed. You need to leave Melody alone and come with me. She’s been through enough already.”
“What do you mean she’s been through enough?”
Kyrie looked down at Melody, she was smaller. When did she get so much smaller. He brought a finger close to her only for her to scream and start shaking. She hadn’t been this scared of him since they first met. He leaned down to try and get a closer look at her. That was when he realized she didn’t get smaller, he grew.
His eyes went wide as a sharp pain felt like it struck through his head. He could faintly see her screaming, crying, begging for freedom. He could slightly taste her still as he remembered trying to defend her. He thought… He thought Byssal was taking her, but he hadn’t seen him as Byssal. She wasn’t a mer she didn’t know what they did. He knew she thought he’d kill her when he would have just swam off to bring her somewhere safe.
“Melody,” he whispered. She flinched when he spoke. He looked at Byssal, only realizing then how much smaller the older mer seemed. He didn’t want her to be alone. “Byss, she shouldn’t be alone. Where’s-”
“Pelago is in her house. We’re leaving to get you somewhere secure before this can happen again. You’re not done growing,” Byssal ordered.
Kyrie nodded looking down at his siren again. She was so scared of him. He knew he should leave, let her make it back on her own. She didn’t look like she could even walk. He carefully brought his fingers close and she started trying to run. It hurt him, but he wasn’t leaving her on the beach. He managed to pinch her between his fingers, she felt much more fragile now.
“Stop please!” she yelled. It hurt to hear her beg him like that.
He tried to smile at her, but it seemed to make it worse. He felt stupid, of course it made it worse. He tried to move slowly as he reached up towards her home. It was a lot easier to reach now. He set her down near the door. She didn’t even look back before running inside. He nodded at Byssal before diving back into the water.
“Come on, we don’t know how long we have,” Byssal said.
Kyrie followed the older mer. He knew he could get them there faster, but he didn’t want to push it. He could see the bruise starting to form on Byssal’s arm. It didn’t take them long to reach the cave they’d planned to use. Byssal stopped and waited for him to swim in. He did, curling up on his tail on the ground. There was a spot on the top just big enough for Byssal to swim in and out.
He watched as Byssal grabbed some stone and started muttering words. Slowly the stone grew large enough that Kyrie was trapped. He wouldn’t be free until his growth was finished. He’d be full size and they’d all seem so small. It didn’t matter, Melody would hate him after this no matter what. He tried not to let out any noise about his pain.
“I’m going to hunt some of the larger fish for you. You’ll be hungry soon enough, if you aren’t already,” Byssal said. Kyrie just offered a chirp before trying to bury himself in the sand. He didn’t want to admit that he was hungry, or that Melody’s taste was still stuck in his mouth. He knew his instincts were trying to protect her, he wouldn’t have let her go when Byssal left if they weren’t. He just was terrified of what could have happened if he stayed left alone with her.
Byssal had to go farther out than usual to get what he needed. It wouldn’t be fun dropping fish close to his own size down for Kyrie to eat. He knew the deep sea coloring meant he’d be huge, but this was already a lot bigger than them. He hoped the spell wouldn’t work and he’d have finished growing, but that wasn’t how things worked.
He found a large grouping of fish that should be enough for at least a meal. He used a spell to kill them quickly and pulled the net Pelago and Caprice made out to carry them back. He hoped Kyrie was still clear headed when he got back. They needed to talk about what he knew happened. He needed to check on Melody too. The siren most likely had no idea what to think.
He reached the hole at the top of the cave and heard silence. Kyrie might have fallen asleep again. He untied the net and started feeding the fish almost his size through the hole. The last one was a bit bigger, giving him a bit of trouble. He’d shoved part of it down, but it sent his arm into the cave. He was going to try something else when a much larger hand grabbed his and the fish pulling him down.
He looked around and saw all the fish gone already. Kyrie must have been hungrier than he thought. As the hand that grabbed him stopped he wondered if he’d been lost to instincts again. The stories of mers Kyrie’s size devouring their own pods during growth spurts came to mind. He felt cruel as another huge hand pulled him away from the fish before shoving the fish into the huge mouth.
He expected to be let go, but he was only brought closer to the much larger mer. He looked up and found seemingly empty eyes. He shivered at the hungry look he was given before he was brought close to Kyrie’s face. He knew what he signed up for when taking in a young deep sea mer back then. He closed his eyes prepared for Kyrie to have lost himself again, but he just felt the big guppy holding him against his nose.
“Byss scared?” he asked. His voice was still trying to settle with the change. He wouldn’t sound normal again for a week or so after he finished growing. Byssal pet his nose eliciting soft chirps from Kyrie. “Melody hate?”
“We’ll talk to her, just give it time,” Byssal sighed. He petted the bit of hair he could reach before Kyrie was moving again. This was more what he expected, as a pup Kyrie was clingy and desperate to be near someone during growth spurts or his scales changing. Kyrie curled up holding Byssal close. Byssal laughed a bit, resigning himself to being held for the next while. The bit of noise from Kyrie’s stomach did leave him a bit more on edge than usual.
Melody slid to the floor leaning against her door. She was panting, terrified of a hand crushing her home to reach her. She didn’t notice when someone walked up until her face was touched. She screamed and jumped to her feet, seeing Pelago about half a foot taller than her and standing there. Melody wanted to back away, but Pelago gently grabbed her hand.
A light tug and Melody was following behind her. She almost laughed at the bath Pel had run for her. The human form merfolk gave her an encouraging smile before slipping out of the room. Melody stared for a few minutes before the sand and damp feeling on her skin reached her brain. She ripped off her clothes and sunk into the water. It felt terrifying despite the safety she knew she had.
“Melody, if it’s ok I’m going to come in to give you some clothes and a towel,” Pelago called. Melody was tempted to say no, but she didn’t want to be alone and relive what happened.
“Ok,” she said. She wasn’t sure Pelago heard her until the door started to open. She couldn’t believe this was real, she wanted to wake up from such an awful nightmare. Pelago dropped the clothes off on the side of the sink and sat on the opposite side of the room. The bubbles in the bath kept Melody almost completely hidden.
“Melody, I’m going to stay with you for now in case that happens again ok?” Pelago felt like she was talking to a cornered animal. She’d known the risks, but they were positive Kyrie had another week before his growth started. The human in the tub didn’t make a sound. She looked down at the clothes on the floor. She could smell Kyrie on them more strongly than ever, and worse she could see how far he’d gone.
“Yes.” Pelago felt her heart break, the little siren always sounded more confident than this. It seemed like she was a shell of herself. Pelago climbed to her feet slowly and moved closer to grab the dirty clothes. She heard the water splash as Melody flinched away.
“It’s ok little siren, I’m going to move your clothes. Just relax, I'll be nearby once you’re ready.”
Pelago just left, she was positive there wouldn’t be an answer. She didn’t know how long the human would be there, but started to wander the house. She hadn’t been to a human home in years. It felt much longer ago when she took her adventure to human lands. She had been so excited when she returned to the water after a year, but there was no one waiting for her. Oceanids live solitary lives and that meant from the end of her training.
She jumped as arms wrapped around her. The little siren was out of the bath and hugging her. She smiled, she thought Melody hated her. She carefully pulled the arms off her and brought the young human to one of the soft seats. She sat down and Melody quickly curled up next to her. She was wrapped in small arms again and she didn’t mind.
“I thought you might leave if I took too long,” Melody whispered. Pelago gently placed a hand on the other's head and started to pet her hair.
“I told you I’d be here. You’ll be safe, little siren. You always were,” she murmured. She felt the arms around her tighten as tears started to fall.
“I thought he killed you, and Byssal. I-I didn’t know what to do if he did. I thought he was going to kill me.” Pelago felt guilty at the happy feeling hearing the human worried about her and Byss. Pelago had quickly grown fond of her, so had Byssal although he’d deny it. Both knew she didn’t seem to like being near either of them.
“Oh guppy,” Pelago wrapped Melody in her arms. “He would never hurt you. Mers his size tend to carry their mates in their mouths when they sense danger. He just thought Byssal might hurt you and planned to take you to safety.”
Melody pulled away from Pelago and glared at her. She tried to offer reassurance, but Melody backed away from her hands. She was glaring and looked ready to kill.
“Do you think claiming he wanted to protect me makes anything he did alright?!” Melody yelled. Pelago opened her mouth to answer, but the fire in the human’s eyes stole her voice. “I couldn’t do anything! All he did was-was hold me and pin me against him! I tried the only power I have to use against things like him and you and he just trapped me more demanding I sing. How the hell does protection make any of that alright?”
“Melody, he just wanted to be near you. During growth mers act on instincts and don’t think about what they-”
“So what if he was hungry!? What if his instincts took over while I was in his mouth? What if he forgot who I was like he clearly forgot Byssal wasn’t an enemy!? You can’t just tell me that it’s fine because it’s normal!”
Pelago pulled Melody close and hugged her. She knew the siren hadn’t even noticed her own tears falling as she spoke. It was clear that her fear was boiling out now that Kyrie was gone. He’d have a lot to work through if she was willing to give him another chance. She started to pet Melody’s head again.
“Oh little guppy, I wasn’t saying it was fine. I’m sorry I made you think that’s what I meant. I was terrified when he grew bigger than Byssal. He’d held me close and wouldn’t let me go. I didn’t want to believe the stories, but I was scared that maybe they were true. He wouldn’t hurt you, but of course he scared you.”
Melody went limp in her arms. She just cried and seemed to finally let out everything she was feeling. Pelago hated seeing her like this, she knew it must have been worse for her. Pelago had a way out if Kyrie decided to hurt her, Melody never did. The biggest downside to being a siren, they had no magic at all. If Kyrie did turn against her she’d never be able to get away.
Eventually Melody fell asleep against her side. She continued petting the sleeping siren’s head until quiet chirps sounded from nearby. She carefully pulled herself away and stepped outside. Byssal had pulled himself up to the cliff and had waited for his chirps to call her out. She smiled up at him as she came close, stopping a bit away when she noticed the water still on his arms.
“Is she hurt?” he asked. Pelago shook her head, tempted to deal with the consequences of touching the water. She could see the bruise he tried to hide.
“How bad was he?” she said.
“Pel… I don’t know if she would have been safe if he took her. It’s not like the last time. When I slipped out… I heard him growling at me, Pel.” She stepped forward, but he pulled his arms away off the ground. “You can’t change back right now.”
“I can handle Kyrie if he decides to grab me Byss.” She set her hands on her hips glaring at the large mer who gave her a sad smile.
“I know you can, but she can’t. Even if the other one comes back before this is over you need to stay.” She smiled at him.
“I knew you liked them. We can always try talking with her more.” Byssal looked away from her and towards the human house. She knew he could see her curled up inside. “She thought we died Byss…”
“I know, she told me…” There was a heavy pause as he stared at Melody. “Do you think she’ll trust him again?” He kept looking at her, Pelago smiled knowing he wanted to see her breathing and know she was safe. He’d acted like that the first time Kyrie had gotten into trouble with some mers who recognized his colors.
“I don’t know. She needs to have a way to get away if he’s like that. I don’t know what that would be.” Pelago sighed and turned to look back at Melody. Even if she forgives this and they grow closer again it’s a dangerous relationship.
“What if she started trying to use the other songs?”
“Byss we don’t even know how the sirens in the stories learned them. We can’t just tell her they’d work on him either. We don’t know anything.”
“After his growth spurt is over I’ll try helping her. She’s not going to have that happen again.” She turned to look up at him and saw the way he changed. She never expected him to look quite so protective over a human.
“You thought he might go too far…” Pelago’s voice was barely a whisper, but Byssal gave an affirmative chirp.
“It wasn’t like last time Pel, his eyes were different. He knew it was her, but I don’t know if he’d keep seeing her.”
Pelago stared at Byssal in silence. She knew there was something he was holding back. She stepped forward and looked up at the face so much bigger than her. It didn’t feel that different from normal, but she knew it did to him. She sat down on the ground and sighed preparing herself for what he’d say.
“What aren’t you telling me, Byssal?” she whispered. He let out the smallest chirp she ever heard from him. He lowered himself below the cliff so she could only see his eyes. He looked almost scared to say it.
“He was growling when I left. I slipped out of his arms just before he woke up. I’m pretty sure I heard his teeth snap shut just as I got out…” he said. She barely heard him, a part of her wondered if he was trying to stop Melody from hearing.
Byssal couldn’t read Pelago’s expression. They both knew the risks, the stories, how much was legend and truth. They both knew that it could be their death having a deep sea mer around. He would never know if the goal was just to pull him back or something more. Pelago stood and turned to walk back inside.
“We need to find those songs. He can’t come back here until she knows them, at least not be near her like that again,” she said. Byssal watched as she entered the human house again. She was right. First he’d go hunting more for Kyrie, then he’d start looking into the ruins of siren nests nearby for anything to help.

SaMS Beach day!
(POLAR AU BELONGS TO: @snowe-zolynn-rogers )
Today, KillCode decided to take his kids to the beach. Moon had personality rented out an entire private beach for just KillCode and his kids.
KillCode got a tent set up while Lunar, Bloodmoon, and Eclipse went to the water.
“I found a shell, look!” Polar, Eclipse’s loving boyfriend shouted from the deeper end. He held the pretty, fragile thing in the air and waved it a bit.
It was orange with a bit of pink.
Polar looked at it, then hummed a bit and went over to Eclipse.
“Hey Eclipse?”
“Yeah Polar?”
Polar kissed Eclipse, then pulled away as Eclipse blushed hard, Polar then held the shell next to Eclipse’s face. “perfect resemblance!” Polar said with a chuckle, “Oh hush!” Eclipse spoke, covering his face embarrassed.
Lunar was splashing in the water and giggling, Bloodmoon was just sitting in the water, playing with a crab he found, and his twin, Harvest was splashing around with Lunar :D
KillCode sat in the tent, watching his kids play and have fun, “This was a great idea” he said to himself with a smile.
Polar and Eclipse took some pictures, then Polar guided him to deeper water, soon they were both where the water was up to their shoulders.
Eclipse suddenly yelped and leapt on Polar who skillfully caught him
“SOMETHING TOUCHED MY FOOT-“ Eclipse screeched, Polar burst out laughing.
Soon Bloodmoon came to KillCode
“Dad. I found a friend” Bloodmoon said, holding the teeny crab in his hands, KillCode smiled and nodded, “Nice. Just be sure to put him back before we leave, the crab lives here and it wouldn’t be nice to kidnap your friends” KillCode mentally chuckled as he said that.
Bloodmoon nodded and went to play with Lunar
Harvest came back, covered in wet sand
“Daaad…” he said sadly
“Yes, Harvest?” KillCode responded
“The water made the sand stick to me, and I don’t like it. It feels weird, help please” Harvest said, KillCode nodded and got up, “Polar. Watch them, I’m going to take Harvest to the showers” KillCode said, Polar looked at him and nodded with a thumbs up.
KillCode left with Harvest.
After a while, a huge wave came in and no one saw it until it was really big, Polar was the first to notice, and it was heading straight for Lunar who was innocently picking up shells
“Oh shit, Lunar move!” He shouted which got everyone’s attention, Lunar made a small confused noise and then faced the huge wave, Polar rushed over and being the tree he was, quickly picked Lunar up before the wave crashed down and held him above the wave, after the wave went back down, Polar put Lunar back down, “Are you okay?” Polar asked
Lunar blinked and nodded with a smile, “Thank you!” He said happily
Polar smiled and turned around
Eclipse basically leaped on him, hugging him, “I love you so fucking much!” Eclipse practically cried out, happy that Polar just practically saved his little brother
“Awh, I love you too” Polar said, giving Eclipse a little smooch, “am I going to get a reward tonight~?” Polar asked, Eclipse blushed heavily
“I-WELL-UHM-“
“Bahaha! I’m just teasing, I’m just teasing!” Polar said, Eclipse puffed up his cheeks a bit and lightly punched Polar in the shoulder.
KillCode came back with Harvest who was now in comfortable clothes. KillCode sat in the tent with harvest and they just watched the ocean.
Eclipse got tired, and he came to sit with them, he ended up falling asleep on Killcode’s lap like a little cat ^w^
The others continued to play in the water and the sand until the sun began to set, and they were packing up the things. Polar didn’t want anyone disturbing his boyfriend sleeping so he picked Eclipse up, they went to their car and drove home ^w^

birthday date
Tumblr media
pairing: oikawa tooru x fem!reader
summary: happiest birthday to one, oikawa tooru.
author’s notes: this is an old fic of mine that’s actually been on my ao3 for a while, so i thought why not transfer it to tumblr, too?
for reference, please do check this commercial that inspired me to write it :)
also available on ao3.
disclaimer: i own NOTHING but the plot.
“Hey, Hajime, can you do me a favor?”
When Iwaizumi told him that they were going out, he honestly thought that he was coming on to him. And how could he not? They went to the bake shop near Kindaichi’s for breakfast, and Iwaizumi actually treated him!
Afterwards, they went to the Sendai Astronomy Observatory, where Oikawa was going to work at months from now, having gone through strenuous some masters abroad.
And to top it all off, they went shopping! Iwaizumi almost never goes with him, even when they were in high school.
Despite the kindness he was showing, Oikawa knew that there was something up his sleeve, there had to be – Iwa-chan wouldn’t just up and be nice to him today, especially today of all dates!
Thus, his conclusion that Iwa-chan was coming on to him.
He even joked him about it all day.
It was almost like he was a kid again, a carefree kid with zero to little care in the world – no responsibilities, no bullshit, no nothing.
He could almost be happy about it.
He could almost be satisfied with how the day went, no matter how simple it was – a date with his childhood best friend.
He could almost be glad to live through another year.
Almost.
But when they went to beach, to a particular bench that overlooked the ocean, he felt his heart quicken, breath hitching.
To anyone, it may seem like an ordinary bench – a wooden bench that was years old, withered but strong – but it wasn’t.
No, this bench was special. It held a lot of memories – good and bad, especially with a certain someone. That bench was the reminder of how his life began.
And standing there, together with Hanamaki and Matsukawa, were his children – six-year-old, Ringou, and barely-ready-to-walk-three-year-old Katsuo. At the sight of their father, the two quickly ran to him.
“Daddy!” they both cried.
Getting to his knees, he took the kids in his arms, who gave their father kisses to his face. Even with his children around, his confusion grew, mind going blank.
Iwaizumi nodded at the two, allowing him to Oikawa to his confusion: there were balloons everywhere, a sloppily made ‘happy birthday’ sign standing beside the bench, and was that the stuffed Chewbacca stuffed toy she bought him?
He felt his heart rapidly beating against his chest, as if ready to burst out, hands beginning to shake.
He looked up to his best friend’s gaze, hardened and filled with sorrow. “Have a seat, Oikawa.”
Oikawa did as he was told, Ringou and Katsuo ran to their uncles, staring at the balloons in awe. He smoothed his fingers through the hard wood, surprised that it was still in one piece after all these years. And as felt on a particular side of the bench, he could see a carving of a love umbrella he had drawn so many years ago, his fingers brushing against one particular name.
‘(Surname) (Name)’
‘Together forever.’
At the sound of his name, Iwaizumi handed him his phone, telling him to hit play. Although still in confusion, he pressed his thumbs to the play button, feeling scared at what may pop up.
Black faded from the screen, of an outstretched hand, before it revealed a familiar face. He gasped, choked at the sight of her.
A smile graced her face, contrasting the mood of her situation – dressed in a dull gray garb, her hair (or lack thereof) bundled in a wrap, deep bags under her eyes, sunken cheeks. Still, she was as beautiful as ever – as beautiful as the day he lost her.
“Hi Toru, happy birthday.” Her voice resounded, silencing everything out – the seagulls, the waves, his children’s laughter, and his breath hitching. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t be there with you. I don’t think I can make it.” His vision began to blur, hot tears streaming down his face as he brought Iwaizumi’s phone closer to his face, to see his wife better. “Toru, I’m sorry. I’ve asked Hajime-nii-chan to celebrate with you. Now that I’m…you know.” Behind him, the trio’s expressions grew grim. “I want you to be happy, Toru. Even if I’m not there anymore. And even though they bully you a lot, I know nii-chan, Makki-nii-chan and Matsun-nii-chan cares about you a lot. Always remember that I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.” She was openly crying now, but smiling still. He hated seeing her cry, but she managed to look effortlessly beautiful at the job, especially now. “I’ll always be with you, Toru. You, Ringou, and Katsuo.” At the mention of her name, Ringou, her mini-version with his hair but her beautiful (eye color) eyes, and Katsuo, Oikawa’s carbon copy also bearing his mother’s eyes, appeared holding out a makeshift cake made out of milk bread, a reminder of when they first celebrated his birthday together and she was low on a budget.
“Happy birthday, daddy!” the two cried, even though Katsuo barely spoke and said it in garbles.
He laughed through the tears, reaching out to his children, pressing a quick kiss to their foreheads as they watched the video together. “I love you all so much. Don’t forget me, okay?”
Just as he thought the video ended, their wedding footage popped up, specifically to their vows.
“Daddy, is that you?” asked Ringou. He replied with a nod.
“Wawa~” cried Katsuo, eyes brightened at the sight of his mother.
He couldn’t help but smile, wrapping his arms around his children.
Another video played, of Ringou’s first ballet recital, followed by Katsuo’s first steps, their Christmas at their grandparent’s (where Iwaizumi was still in denial that Oikawa was his brother-in-law). He could feel the three looking over his shoulder, smiling at each video that played.
The last video that played wasn’t a video, but a photo of their family, all sprawled in bed, sleeping and looking adorable. Hanamaki had taken it, (Name) had declared it her favorite. It was his, too.
When he was done, he handed Iwaizumi his phone, needing a moment to compose himself.
“Daddy, stop crying!” says Ringou, using her skirt to wipe her father’s tears away. Katsuo mimicked his sister, using his stubby hands. But instead of wiping them away, he just seems to smear them across his face.
He laughed, touched by the gesture, tightening his hold on the two.
“Is Daddy ugly when he cries, Ringou-chan?”
“No! Daddy’s the handsomest!” declared Ringou, making his heart swell. They laughed at the declaration, Katsuo laughing along even though he had no idea what was going on.
“Happy birthday, Oikawa.” The three greeted. Ringou raised his ‘birthday cake’ a wide grin on her face.
 …
“After I’m gone, celebrate his birthday with him in my place.”

Today was a lot. I have literally changed outfits 6 times. It was storming and cold and hot and sunny and fog was always around the corner. Our battery packs aren't charged anymore and I'm exhausted. But I'm also just really happy.
Last night was a little rough. When we all got in bed it was raining and very windy. This new tent is great but it is a summer tent for sure and has a lot of mesh and windows. And the ocean wind was just cutting through. I had on a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie and sweatpants and socks and slippers. We were under 4 blankets. And I was shivering so hard I could have cried. I had to rouse James because I couldn't take it. I knew we had a picnic blanket in our supply box and I would find us some safety pins and we pinned the blanket to the wall and immediately things were better. It was shocking really how much wind was pushing the blanket but at least it wasn't so cold and I stopped shivering.
It still took a while for me to fall asleep. And it wasn't the best sleep. The wind was scary. The storming was scary. But I would sleep.
James got up and jossled me a little in the morning. But that was okay. I tried to sleep for a little longer, my chest kind of hurt and I wasn't feeling great, but then all of a sudden my nose started bleeding really bad. I couldn't even sit up I was like cupping blood and whispering to James because I couldn't get my voice to work.
And they did come and help me. It was scary and I got blood on our blankets. I was pretty distressed. But it would calm down and I got up and cleaned my face and got dressed. Putting on my medication here is very tough. But I did do it last night and this morning. I don't know if I will do a great job tonight but I will try. My skin is healing and I don't want to mess it up.
I was kind of a mess but I felt really cute everyone else got up and I had cereal and we made eggs and Noelle had made little breakfast burritos. And it was fun even though everything was damp and I got ketchup on my pants.
We would clean up. Okay we is not fair. I did not help a ton. I am still very weak and I have for sure not been as helpful as I could be. But every time I get a bit of energy it gets zapped pretty fast. But the camp was cleaned up and started walking to the beach.
Me and James took an extra minute because I needed more socks but then we walked too. It was interesting to see all the people fishing. And the shells here are insane. We have seen a few dead things that made me sad. A turtle specifically. But there are also horseshoe crabs!! So many!! We moved a few closer to the surf because they seemed to far but they we decided that they were probably laying eggs and so we left the rest alone. But we kept an eye out.
We mostly looked for shells and sea glass. I told a lady a story my dad told me about seeing a man throwing wine bottles into the sea in December so he would have seaglass in the summer. And Noelle found a piece of a plate! Very cool. I got some really interesting rocks and seaglass and picked up so many broken spiral shells.
I was having a blast. But then it started raining. It was foggy and misty all morning but it started to rain for real. I had an actual rain coat on but it had torn and my legs were getting very wet. Evan and Noelle had alright jackets on. But James had left their jacket at camp and their hoodie got pretty soaked. I wasn't happy that James was getting wet. But they said it was okay and we kept collecting shells for a while.
We would head back when the rain got worse and we were uncomfortable. But our campsite was soaked too.
Everything is muddy puddles. And the canopy didn't do much to help. Thankfully the tents were pretty dry inside. A few drips but with a little fixing wasn't a problem. We paired off and got dry and rested.
The rain really took it out of me. I was already tired and just laying there was nice but I was never able to nap today even though I tried. James laid in bed with me and read and I gave them my other hoodie so they could be warm. And it was just cuddly for a while.
The storm got worse before it got better. I was thankful for the tent staying warm and dry. I was tired but never slept.
When the storm finally stopped we all got out and had a late lunch. Then me and Noelle went over to the playground and were very silly over there trying everything and it was all a little damp but it was silly fun. I went down the very long slide. We tried these spinning rods. It is a very strange but well made playground. James and Evan joined us and we had some laughs and I made them swing so I could get a video. We had lots of laughs trying things and figuring out things before we heard some kids coming and so we headed back to our camp site.
Then the nicest thing happened! The sun came out! It got very warm all of a sudden?! We were like. Ahhh!! And all put shorts on really quickly and decided we needed to go back to the beach. We had seen a boys youth group heading over there in swim shorts and with chairs and I was like. Maybe not that warm but that's good thinking. I just brought my flannel.
I was very glad I did. Because almost half way over to the beach the fog rolled back in. It was still a little warm but it would get cooler and cooler.
We enjoyed walking the beach though. Me and Evan out our feet in the water. We found a few more shells. But it would start to get rainy again. So we headed back.
It was only a little rainy. And would stop soon.
But in the mean time babagonoosh was made. We couldn't do it on a fire but it came out excellent on the camo stove. I would have eaten more but what I did have was so good. My favorite thing we have camping for sure.
Evan and Noelle would drive into town. James would read. I would try and fail to nap. They brought me back an apple that I appreciated greatly, as I have been craving an apple since I got sick. The sun was shining though. And we were all hoping to dry things off.
So James decided to take the canopy down in hopes we could dry up the ground a little. Or at least walk around the puddles. I was really tired and tried to help but James mostly wanted to do it alone. Evan and Noelle laid some stuff out. I cleaned up the tent and laid down when I got to winded.
I have been in here reading for a while now. Resting. Enjoying a book. Enjoying hearing everyone okay a card game. We had smores and they are having chili now. The sun just finished setting and everything is clear right now. I think I'm going to go wash my face and try to get myself ready to sleep. Hopefully it comes easier tonight.
I hope tomorrow is lovely. I don't know what it will hold. But I know it will be fun and then I will get to see my Sweetp and that is really good.
Sleep well everyone. Take care of yourselves. Goodnight!

Hi.I Downloaded Tumblr in the last 10 minutes.
You can call me Tam if you want to. Cosmo is just a cool name in my opinion, It kinda reminds me of Cosmo and Vanda.
I like rain, motorcycles, music, headphones , baggy clothes, vans, art, writing, audio books and the wall besides my bed where I hang up over 100 pictures and some fary lights. It looks really messy tbh but it represents myself. There are pics of me, musicians that I fancy, Manga and anime stuff, randome pics like a cow in the ocean, my art and other stuff. It really represents my obsession for some things. It also covers the Torn wallpaper, you may don't know there are holes but there are, I'm just good in hiding things I guess. I ordered today my first pair of vans. I hope they'll fit me. When we were in a show store the day before we asked if they had vans in the Size 42(eur) but they sayd they didn't and they couldn't order them because it doesn't exist a size 42. They lied. It gives them till the Size 50. They lied because they probably thought that I'm a annoying kid. Before the Conversation I cried in the store because I had multiple panic attacks and I couldn't take it. I have a sister, we call her Ann. Ann asked the same lady if they had some pair of shoes in her size and she was completely nice to her and looked for them. I'm so jealous at her because she's thin, beautiful, tall and gets that what she wants. She has light skin and light hair. I'm the complete opposite from her. I think I'm jealous at her because she's that what I always wanted to be. I think everything would be better if I would be an extroverted. All my problems would be gone in just some seconds. I pretty hate myself tbh. In 5th grade I wanted that everyone likes me so I tried to change my personality to an open, crazy, extrovert. I ended up hating myself. Now I can't go out of this bubble of hate and trying to be someone else. I don't recommend trying to be someone else. It just ending up destroying you.
Ok this was a shity deep talk.
Whatever, have a nice day.
