Wolf Spider pt. 3
Sam Carpenter x Spider-Man!Reader
Telling your amazing girlfriend that another masked serial killer was on the loose in New York was not exactly a walk in the park.
“We’re leaving!!” She grabs her luggage bags as Mindy and Chad try to calm her down.
“Baby I don’t know if leaving New York will help” you try to convince Sam.
“As opposed to staying still?” She nearly thunders back. “Sorry honey. I just can’t let anything happen to Tara”
“What about me?” Chad asks, “I nearly became a knife rack last time!”
“But did you die?“ Mindy responds as Anika joins her side.
Tara huffs, “look I’m gonna go get some supplies and then we’re out of here.”
Sam and Tara head out of the apartment as you head for yours. You quickly find your old spider society wrist watch and make a call to your mentor, Miguel.
“sorry kid,“ Miguel sighs, “ this is a part of your canon event and we cannot interfere.”
“then send me my emergency box” you practically order him.
A small cylinder arrives through a portal two seconds later. Inside you can see the swirling black mass as it beats against the container you promised yourself you never go back to this but desperate times call for desperate measures. The symbiote was your best bet.
You begrudgingly open the container and the black as night alien goo latches onto you. It lurches its way up encasing you completely in a solid black suit with a white spider logo but at its center was a skull.
Why? It hisses.
“The family I love is in danger”
Don’t hold me back.
“I won’t.”
How you wished you had gone with Sam and Tara. Ghostface chased them to the bodega and was shooting up the place with a shotgun.
You swung thru the window and fire a tendril shard at the slasher. It cuts through the only black robe but it wasn’t a direct hit. Ghostface fled as Sam and Tara took to their feet. You look down to see that the fiend left behind their mask.
“Are you okay?” You try to ask the girls as the fury of the symbiote rages inside of you.
Chase the killer down!
You make your way trying to help any potential survivors. There was only Sam and Tara left alive.
Detective Bailey and a few officers arrived shortly. “Wolf” the gruff detective shakes your hand, “nice threads”
“Special suit. Violatile” you explain, what you didn't notice was how your suit was reacting around Bailey. It was as if the symbiote was finding itself drawn to the gruff older man.
Bailey and the police officers took Sam and Tara down to the station. While you weren't allowed into the station, you were able to call in an old friend to act as their lawyer, pro bono. What can you say? Your pal Matt Murdock owed you a favor.
Mindy assembled the Core Four plus Ethan, Anika and Quinn at the campus.
"Okay we're now in the sequel, guys, which means new rules" Mindy explains.
"Please don't try to put it in movie terms right now" you groan.
"Sorry but since you weren't with us first time," Mindy smirks, "you're on the list of suspects."
"Don't do that to Y/N, babe," Anika says before hugging you, "I know you're one of the good ones"
Sam rolls her eyes, "Y/N's mine, Anika, remember?"
You give Sam a kiss on the forehead to ease her false sense of jealousy. "All yours Carpenter" you whisper in her ear.
"How do we know that its even anyone in this circle?" Ethan asks, "with the rise of the internet, anyone can have a grudge without much reason. Also I don't wanna die a virgin"
"Can't help you there, Chambers" you joke, earning a chuckle from Chad.
"What if its someone from the last time?" Quinn asks "like someone who went nuts"
"Possible" you explain, "but it'd be a terrible reveal and tank the franchise"
"So Chad's not off the table?" Tara jokes.
"Only for you, Carpenter" Chad tries to flirt only for you to throw some popcorn at him for his terrible flirting attempt.
You had a little dinner over at the Carpenter sisters' apartment. Sam was practically shaking as she held onto your hand. You tried to venture out, she grabs you.
Why are you still here? The symbiote hissed in your ear. Find them, kill them.
You walk out of the apartment and quickly the symbiote forms over you. Sam sneaks out and puts a hand on your shoulder.
"Please don't leave" Sam begs.
"That killer is out there" you reasoned. "I gotta nab them before they find you"
You swung out on your own personal hunt. You should've stayed. During a swing, your police scanner picked up reports of screaming being heard in your apartment complex. You swung back to the location only to find everyone minus Quinn, trying to cross between buildings on a ladder. You could see Anika had been stabbed and was severely bleeding out.
Ghostface rocked the ladder and Anika fell. You dived after her and caught her at the last second. Mindy screamed after you as you swung off into the night.
You set Anika down on the nearby rooftop, her breathing slowing down. You put your hand over her bleeding stomach, trying to stop it by any means. "You'll be okay" you try to reassure her.
"Take off your mask" Anika weakly says, "I wanna see your face...Y/N"
"Y/N" you try to speak through your forming tears, "w-who's Y/N?"
"I know it's you"
You hesitate but you remove your mask and offer her a weak smile. Anika weakly smiles back, "I knew it. I knew you were one of the good ones"
Her body goes limp and her eyes shut. "Anika? Anika?!"
You swing her down to the hospital. The EMTs shuttle her body off to away from you as you try to keep up with her.
"It's alright, Wolf" one of the EMTs tries to reassure you, "you did your part."
You could only look on in horror as Anika is hauled off, unsure if you were too late to save her. "Get her to the OR stat" one doctor yelled out as the doors shut on you.
You understood that no one was safe. This Ghostface wasn't playing by the rules. This franchise has changed.

i think i remember you saying the science team would rewatch the videos together( like the cast commentaries,) and i was curious to see if you would talk a bit about that? like… how they reacted to certain things and scenes, if or how they talked it out, stuff like that… i’ve been wanting to ask this for sooooo long but just now got the confidence to, i love this verse sooooo much !!! its been living rent free in my head ever since i first read the series… its the only way i can think of post-canon i love it so much… ok thats all i hope you have a good day !!!
First I gotta say Thank You and I'm making my first official rent payment for the real estate in here. It has always been the goal to inspire people to think about the team like this and I am SO grateful for every ask sent and conversation had. But YES let's talk about watching
Gordon gave the team the option to watch the VODs and edits on their own, but was convinced to make it a group activity by his friends. This ended up being to precursor to their regular movie nights-- everybody met up in Tommy's basement to watch the edits together over a couple days. (Nobody wanted the emotional whiplash of going into Act 3 unprepared.)
One of the key things that everyone has a reaction to is what fonts and text colors Gordon chose for them.
Benrey likes his text color well enough, but would have preferred purple. He also thinks his font could have been something way cooler. He also thinks it's weird that he and Forzen have the same font, and accuses Gordon of being lazy.
Tommy tells Gordon that he likes his font and color, but it's hard to tell how he really feels. He does say that while his favorite color is actually red, he knows that can be a bit harder to read against a dark background.
Bubby is insulted that he was given Times New Roman, legendary as a default font, but changes his tune when told it's actually Sylfaen. Entirely different! With this, he and Coomer are both satisfied with their captions. In fact, their fonts are in their favorite colors... sort of. Coomer actually prefers cyan, while Bubby likes green.
Gordon actually got Darnold's favorite color dead on. He's started using his typeface, Terminal Grotesque, on most documents and correspondence. He hasn't verbally acknowledged this, but Gordon's noticed. It makes him smile.
G-Man thinks his font is very practical. That's all he's said on the matter.
Other Notable Reactions
Bubby had completely forgotten that Gordon didn't believe him about his name. Upon being reminded, he went "Wait, hang on, hang on. What the fuck, Gordon? Who DOES that?" (Darnold felt validated by this.)
Coomer laughs uproariously at his own jokes and slips of the tongue.
"So Tommy. Benrey said you like mean people, do you... do you have any idea what he meant by that?" "Oh! Well, you know." He failed to elaborate.
The screen going black during the ambush came as a surprise to the team. Everyone remembers actually seeing the events play out, though in hindsight, Coomer questions his own memory. There's a lot about that whole stretch of time that he has questions about, but he knows they can't be answered.
Bubby goes out of his way to point out situations where he was playing a trick or just straight-up lying to his friends. Part of it is for full disclosure, part is to brag about what a funny guy he is.
Gordon is uncomfortable with clips where he is condescending to or impatient with the science team. Benrey tries to diffuse his anxieties by pointing them out directly and highlighting all of his insecurities. He's a great friend. He tries his best.

Trekkerverse Christine Chapel/T’Pring series fic rec
Alsike is one of my favorite authors, but I had not read any of their Christine Chapel/T’Pring fics until recently as I had never watched Strange New Worlds. In late December they published an AU that sounded like fun and I overcame my reluctance and I read it (after all I had watched other Star Trek before). I did not regret it as I was able to get into this hilarious story and I loved it. (Hint: read The One Where They're Professors)
After that I was hooked on the ship and continued to read this series of T'Pristine stories, and I couldn't stop.
They blend philosophy, Star Trek and a beautiful love story into a spectacular fanfiction trilogy.

My Thoughts
This is an amazing series of fics that you should definitely read if you are into Star Trek and femslash fanfiction.
It is very well written and the characters are beautifully flashed out (really great for someone who did not watch this show). Ultimately this is a enemies to lovers story; maybe more of an "I hooked up with the ex of my ex and fell in love" story.
The 3rd part is the longest and explores T'Prings past, her struggle as an outcast and the possible reconciliation with her family.
It takes place mostly on Vulcan and dives deep into Vulcan society and its issues with (non)conformity. And it does wrap up T'Pring's and Christine's love story when they finally overcome their insecurities.
This is an incredible trilogy of fics, an amazing love story and one of the best Star Trek stories that I have ever experienced. And that includes a lot of official novels and canon shows and movies.

Addendum: How much Star Trek do you need to know?
Of course, you'll be fine if you watched Strange New worlds, but I think there are also other ways to enjoy this trilogy if you did not watch this show but have some prior knowledge of Star Trek and Vulcans.
I have never watched Strange New Worlds but I have watched a lot of the older Star Trek shows and movies and read a lot of the novels from the 80s and 90s. I really loved the ones focused on Vulcan society, Vulcan culture and Human & Vulcan interaction (and not just Spock) and I felt right at home when I read this trilogy.
Even if you know very little about Star Trek, it is worth doing some googling to read this story.

I promised this like forever ago and I'm finally posting it now:
Me and My sister's collective ranking of all the Winnie the Pooh animated movies
(That are available on Disney Plus)
Before I start I am completely aware that I probably have a bias to some of these, as I grew up with a few. I tried to look subjectively at each movie and take into account both characterization as well as how the movie feels as a whole and it's plot.
I'll try my best to avoid any spoilers, as well.
9) A Valentine for you (1999): 3.5/10
Starting with the obvious outlier here: I know this is technically a short and not a movie. The fact of the matter is though that I watched it and hated it. It felt... cheap. Rushed. I felt no love or care was put into this while I was watching it. What plot it has makes little sense. Though I understand what they were going for, it doesnt feel fitting for Winnie the Pooh canon. The only reason it has a 3.5 is because the song Tigger and Rabbit sing, while short, is actually kinda cute and catchy.
8) A Very Merry Pooh Year (2002): 5.5/10
I don't have a lot to say about this one, either. It was very cute, for what it was! I enjoyed myself watching this, unlike the previous entry. The split apart plot threw me off, though, and it felt more fitting for multiple shorts rather than trying to make those two plot ideas fit together in some way. Felt very disconnected as a whole.
That being said, I did enjoy the second story way more than the first. I love it when the characters show such genuine care for each other.
7) Springtime with Roo (2004): 6/10
It does pain me to put this movie so low. I mean, a quarter of it is Tigbit FanFiction. That's like one of my favorite things. The conversation Tigger and Rabbit have halfway through always hits me in the heart. You never see them actually have a sit down talk and try to understand each other, and I love that about this movie.
There are just certain things that bother me. Perhaps I'm picky. The movie just didn't stand out to me in a way that the ones above it have. There's no real story. Just felt like Rabbit being hurt for an hour or so.
That being said there is genuine charm here I can see why some might rank it higher.
6) Winnie the Pooh (2011): 6.5/10
I also like this movie. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Tom Kenny as Rabbit is hilarious. This is probably the funniest movie in the whole series. (To me)
My problem with it is also the thing I like about it. The comedy, while funny, also comes as a detriment to the characterization. I feel as if they play up the characters' traits to the point they feel hollow and one note. Rabbit is over the top, Piglet is a kiss ass to Pooh, Pooh is... kind of self centered?? They don't feel like themselves. These characters do not feel like they would genuinely care for each other as true family. The Tigger Movie would never happen in this universe.
Like I said, I think the movie is funny. It's entertaining in its own way. But I can't see it being canon in any way shape or form and that stops me from putting it higher.
5) The Heffalump Movie (2005): 7/10
This is a really sweet movie. It has such a wonderful message, and I love the change they made to the Heffalumps as a whole. I think it really expands the universe.
Roo and Lumpy have such a sweet friendship. I can't very well speak on the messages in this movie aside from "don't judge a book by its cover", but I do think they do a good job of conveying the lesson simple enough for children to understand, while not treating them like they're stupid.
I have no real problems with this movie. I just think the ones I ranked higher are better than it.
4) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977): 8/10
I feel like this was a perfect introduction to the characters and their personalities. There's something so charming about how it's aged.
I know my bias is showing through with this entry, but even as an adult I truly appreciate everything about it. I think, for the time it was made, it did what it wanted to just right. It didn't want to tell a big story, so it didn't. I don't feel like it needed to, either. I think the stories flow nicely into one another and fit well in the universe.
3) Piglet's Big Movie (2003): 8.5/10
I'll be honest, I grew up with this movie. It's so beautifully charming and heartfelt.
I actually don't have too much to say about it, either, though. I love the characterization and the lesson it tells. I love how the characters feel as if they've known each other for their whole lives and truly love and care for each other like family. It's warm and even when they're fighting you can tell they only do it out of a place of genuine care.
2) The Tigger Movie (2000): 9.5/10
I realize this might be a controversial(?) place to put this movie. I can completely understand why some would put it at their number 1 spots.
That being said, I love this movie with every fiber of my being. And believe it or not, no, I didn't ever see it when I was a kid. I only watched it for the first time a few years ago.
The Tigger Movie is beautiful and gut-wrenching. Most definitely the saddest of all of the movies on this list. I could go on and on about it forever. I love seeing Tigger in the spotlight of anything and I love seeing his emotions and thoughts. The themes of love and family are unmatched. Not to mention the songs! There isn't a single bad one.
The only thing that keeps it from being a 10/10 for me is Rabbit’s role in this movie. I realize I am being picky with that and I don't want to elaborate purely on the fact that it isn't anything but a very minor complaint for me.
1) Pooh's Grand Adventure (1997): 10/10
Literally the perfect Winnie the Pooh film in my eyes.
The songs are catchy and filled with wonder. Each character feels like they were torn from the page of the book. You understand where everyone is coming from in their point of view and you can't help but smile and laugh and cry with them during each moment.
Their family dynamic is so beautiful and innocent. There's nothing I would change about any of it. I still get emotional watching this and the Tigger Movie both.
Hell, Pooh's Grand Adventure is one of the reasons I have been into storytelling since I was young. It is still one of the stories I look back on and aspire to write something as whimsical and pure as.

9 People You'd Like to Know Better
Tagged by @nerobuffoonery! Sorry for the late reply Nero ahaha.
Three Ships:
One) Hunter/Willow (Huntlow or Winter or Golden Garden) cause I mean of course. They are the core of my enjoyment of TOH and I love writing them together. Hunter's sweet but pained personality mixes well with Willow's chaotic but warm energy.
Two) Um this is going to be hard since I am not in Fandoms that much anymore. So um... Catra/Adora? The last fandom that I was short of involved in and still short of am? My partner is writing a rewrite of the entire show so... I just love the Friends to Enemies back to Friends then Lovers. Plus Catra is just baby girl.
Three) Sunset Shimmer/Twilight Sparkle (Princess version cause classic is best to me). I love Sunset Shimmer so much and her relationship with Twilight means the world to me. Even if it didn't amount to much in canon I do love it.
First Ship Ever:
Oh boy. It might be the ship from the first ever series of fanfics I ever tried to write (Shaman King) but I think Jack Spicer/Kimiko from XS was the first ship I ever thought about in a complete way so they go here. I always enjoyed writing ships where it takes time for them to get together and where their personalities bounce off one another in a fun way while writing. I liked imagining Jack becoming the Dragon of Lightning or Metal and joining the good side and having to work for it, and work for his relationship with Kimiko. Its the first ship I created a whole AU for so there is that.

READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT!!!! IT'S WORTH IT
honestly, I'm not super big on fantasy either. I'll read it if it comes highly recommended, but it's nowhere near the top genre I read. BUT there's something about PJO that's just so special. The character development is amazing & the characters are unique and you'll almost certainly find one to attach yourself to. The overall plots and subplots are perfectly executed, the love Rick poured into each character and book makes them feel warm and alive, it's just such a great read. And it's one of the most beloved series from so many peoples childhoods and i know SO many people my age who will still go back and reread through them regularly. And unlike something like HP and its author, Rick is a genuinely good dude and has taken advice and expanded his knowledge from the general public when it came to diversity, representation, and experiences he doesn't fully understand as an older white man (the books are by no means perfect, but he tries his best and acknowledges when something isn't done the way it should be). The entire series was also written as a way to make his own son feel seen and represented somehow (he has ADHD and Percy is canonically ADHD in the series as well).
The movies are something we pretend do not exist (they're baaaaaaad, they changed so much) but Logan Lerman is at least an iconic Percy. The new show, however, is fully Rick's baby and is looking like it's going to be absolutely amazing and will truly honor the books.

When I first read the Harry Potter books and joined the fandom, I loved it. Sure the writing and magic system was iffy at times and didn’t make complete sense, the movies got a lot of things wrong/changed a bunch of stuff from the books, and I also didn’t consider the Cursed Child canon and did not like how Slytherins were portrayed as the ‘evil’ house.
And then I found out J.K. Rowling was a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist), meaning she’s a feminist but only for cis females and doesn’t consider trans women as actual women.
So I tried to leave the fandom as best I could. I threw away all my Harry Potter merch. I tried to ignore the fun, amusing Pins I would get on my Pinterest board about the Houses and Harry’s dynamic with the Weasleys and so many other things.
I thought that I couldn’t and shouldn’t be in the fandom because its creator was transphobic (and most likely homophobic), and people would think that by being in the fandom, I was that too (which is ridiculous now that I think about it because irl I know myself as one of the queerest queers to ever queer).
And then recently I have found out that almost everybody in the fandom in fact hates JKR and has collectively divorced her from it. Had JKR not be a TERF, it would actually be funny how much everybody in the fandom hates her.
So, I have decided to say fuck it and become a Potter Head (or whatever the fuck we’re called nowadays) and rejoin the fandom once again. I’ll probably be re-blogging and possibly posting Harry Potter content now, and enjoying all of immensely in the meanwhile.
And all those who say I’m supporting a transphobic by doing so, I will come to your house at night and eat your teeth while you’re sleeping.

Christmas prompts you say? I'd love something cute with Sameena discussing/listening to Christmas music. What songs are their faves/annoy them? Perhaps while putting together a gingerbread house?
Okay well thank you for this. I felt like I could've kept going on and on about Christmas songs until it was like way too many pages of Deena and Sam talking about Christmas music so I managed to resist.
Also set post Fear Street movies but if Kate and Simon survived because canon doesn't control me and there's literally no way to write a Christmas adjacent story set in the 90's without mentioning...that song. So it had to happen.
“That’s disgusting. You’re completely disgusting. I can’t even stand to look at you right now.”
The fact that Kate actually looks slightly green as she takes in the sight of Simon scooping frosting out of the container and directly into his mouth somehow softens the blow of her words and makes them more than a little bit necessary.
Simon, to his credit, doesn’t seem at all bothered by Kate’s words or the fact that he’s currently swallowing down straight frosting. He just smiles, looking pleased with himself, and Kate gags, snatching the frosting out of his reach and practically throwing it to the other end of the table, where Sam is doing her best to ignore the idea of consuming frosting without the aid of even a single cookie while Deena smirks and watches the bickering unfold around her with the air of a seasoned professional.
“It’s good,” Simon says, goading Kate more than a little bit, mouth still full of frosting and Kate gets to her feet and storms into the kitchen likely before she can throttle him and ruin the semblance of Christmas cheer they’ve got going on right now.
On the radio perched on the china cabinet, Bing Crosby is singing about a white Christmas and opposite where Kate had just been sitting, Josh is methodically breaking candy canes into a fine peppermint powder for the gingerbread house that Sam thinks Kate might have just abandoned in her efforts to get away from Simon.
Sam, for her part, is carefully arranging the pieces of the gingerbread house that she intends to construct with Deena’s help, all while trying to ignore the feeling of Deena’s knee pressing against hers beneath the kitchen table. There’s something about Deena that turns her into a Regency heroine, swooning at the feeling of Deena’s hand in hers or the mere idea of the curve of her ankle. Or her knee. Or really any other part of her.
There’s something about the wholesome serenading of Bing that just makes her thoughts feel all the more scandalous.
“Don’t eat all this,” Deena says, leaning forward to retrieve the icing and giving Simon a glare. “It’s supposed to be building supplies.” She puts the container beside Sam’s elbow and she tries not to wrinkle her nose at its presence.
Josh gives her a side-eyed look. “You’re still going to use that after he had his fingers digging in it?”
Simon scoffs, tearing open a package of gum drops and shaking a few into his palm. “Hey, my hands are clean,” he assures Josh, offering him a gum drop, which Josh takes after a bit of consideration. “Feel free to build away.”
Kate returns, throwing a wad of paper towels in Simon’s direction and dropping back into her seat. “Maybe this is what they mean by Christmas not feeling the same as it did when you were little,” she muses, gently fixing a slightly crooked wall on her already constructed gingerbread house.
Deena scoffs. “Pretty sure Simon would’ve just licked frosting right out of the can as a kid.”
“Yeah but now I actually care,” Kate points out, starting to unravel strands of licorice for some other addition to her house. “So maybe stop making me want to puke, thanks.”
Simon grins, shaking his head. “Now it really feels like Christmas,” he says with a saccharine smile.
“Okay,” Sam says, turning toward Deena before Kate and Simon really get going and flip the table or something. “I think we’re ready to start putting the foundation together.”
Deena’s smirk only grows and her eyes glitter with amusement. “The foundation,” she repeats. “You know those are graham crackers, right?”
“Shut up,” Sam mumbles, giving Deena’s shoulder a nudge with her own. “You know what I mean.”
“Oh, I know,” Deena assures her. “I know you’re taking this way too seriously, just like I knew you would.”
“Hey! Building a gingerbread house is serious business.” Sam grins and Deena’s knee presses against hers again and that swoony romance heroine feeling is back, fluttering in her chest and making her pulse jump.
Deena opens the container of frosting, thankfully picking up a knife to begin spreading the frosty across the edge of one of the cookies rather than take a page from Simon’s book. Sam holds the edges in place to help the frosting adhere and Deena leans closer than necessary to study their handiwork, letting the heat and closeness of her body wash over Sam and go straight to her head. Suddenly agreeing to come to Kate’s for some gingerbread house building and Christmas cheer doesn’t seem nearly as good of an idea as it did this afternoon.
Bing finally gives up on his dreams of a white Christmas and the radio switches to the familiar tinkling bells that signal the beginning of what has quickly become an inescapable song and Deena groans right on cue, looking dangerously close to face planting on the table and taking out their fledging gingerbread cabin. “Ugh. I hate this song.”
“How can you hate this song?” It’s not like this is the first time they’ve had this exact discussion but Sam finds herself getting suckered in every single time. “It’s perfect! It’s literally the perfect Christmas song.”
Deena looks about as impressed with her as the first time Sam had admitted she had no idea who Portishead was. “The perfect Christmas song,” she repeats dryly. “Well, this is from the person who loves the most depressing Christmas song of all time so I guess I should at least be glad I don’t have to listen to Joni Mitchell on repeat anymore. At least this is Mariah Carey.”
Sam huffs out a breath, though her exasperation is mainly for show. “Okay. ‘River’ is a classic Christmas song. It’s beautiful.”
“It’s depressing.”
“Some Christmas songs are depressing!” Sam protests, the gingerbread house forgotten between them. “What about ‘The Christmas Shoes?’”
Deena makes a face, leaning back in her chair. “Okay but like…no one actually likes that song,” she points out. “So bad example.”
Sam gives her another playful shove and Deena grins, using that as an excuse to grab onto her hand and pull her chair a little bit closer. Not that Sam offers any sort of complaint or resistance about this.
“What about ‘Christmastime is Here?’” Sam lifts an eyebrow, looking at Deena expectantly. “I love that one too.”
Deena pats her hand in a gesture of faux sympathy. “You probably think It’s a Wonderful Life is uplifting too, huh?”
Sam rolls her eyes but doesn’t bother to move away.
“Okay, sorry, but Sam is right,” Kate says without looking up from carefully lining the edges of her gingerbread house, which is somehow already in the decoration stages when Sam and Deena’s is still half constructed. “This song is amazing, and I know you like it too and you’re just trying to be angsty and edgy.”
Deena’s eyes widen in shock and she presses her free hand to her chest. “Kate, I’m offended.”
Kate throws a gumdrop at her and Deena catches it in her mouth without missing a beat, no doubt thanks to countless summers lounging around in Kate’s basement and perfecting this exact trick.
“Okay, well, I’m on Deena’s side with this one,” Simon chimes in, squinting at the gingerbread tower he’s managed to construct rather than building his house horizontally. “They play this song about six times an hour at work. So I basically want to pry my eyes out whenever it comes on.”
Deena mimes giving him an air five while Mariah Carey sings on, oblivious to their conversation, and the song still manages to bring a smile to Sam’s face despite the lack of Christmas spirit surrounding her. Sam hums along, unable to stop herself, as Mariah sings “Santa won’t you bring me the one I really need? Won’t you please bring my baby to me?” and she can’t resist glancing at Deena and saying, “Come on. This song is romantic. It’s so sweet.”
Deena Johnson, creator of mix tapes and keeper of a seemingly endless rolodex of Samantha Fraser facts, just shrugs and says, “I guess” like she hadn’t voiced a similar sentiment earlier in the week when they’d been alone in Deena’s room, kiss bruised and dizzy with each other, when Deena had assured Sam she could think of no better way to spend the upcoming Christmas break than in Sam’s company.
But Sam doesn’t call her out on this.
“Okay but Deena used to sing ‘Rudolph’ nonstop when we were little,” Josh chimes in, despite the glares that Deena immediately sends in his direction. “Remember?” He grins at her innocently. “You used to cry because you hated that Rudolph didn’t get to play with the other reindeer.”
“Okay, fuck you,” Deena says without any venom in her voice, pointing at her brother. “That’s sad! Those little assholes hated him just because his nose was red? If I were Rudolph I would’ve told them all to fuck off.”
Kate offers up a wistful sigh, shaking her head. “Ah, the spirit of Christmas.”
“That’s sweet,” Sam assures Deena and she’s sure that she’s blushing because there’s got to be somewhere for the sudden rush of heat and love that she feels for Deena to go because it doesn’t feel like her chest is big enough to hold it all in.
It doesn’t hurt that the tips of Deena’s ears also get a little pink.
“So what is your favorite Christmas song then, Deena? Since you’re the expert?” Kate asks, tilting her head as she studies her friend. “‘Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer?’” She teases.
Deena opens her mouth like she’s about to agree with this, but Sam jumps in quickly. “It’s ‘O Christmas Tree,’” she supplies, smiling at Deena. “Right?”
Deena rolls her eyes but between the way she holds tighter to Sam’s hand and the smile she can’t quite seem to tame, Sam knows she’s right. A few months ago, she’d been convinced she would never have another Christmas with Deena, no other chance to listen to Christmas songs with her on the radio as they drove around Shadyside, or wrapped presents in Sam’s bedroom during their break from school, talking about the holidays they’d had in the past with the sort of easy openness that came when you could pretend to be busy with another task. But here she is now, with Deena’s hand in hers once more and the unfinished gingerbread house between them and the feeling that this is how she wants her life to be forever taking up so much room in her chest that sometimes Sam barely remembers to breathe.
“Aww Deena,” Kate teases, “I think my heart just grew three sizes.”
“Well I guess that’s a start,” Deena replies with a sugary smile.
Sam shakes her head at the both of them, reluctantly pulling her hand from Deena’s to pick up more pieces of the gingerbread house. “Are you going to help me with this?” She nudges Deena’s foot beneath the table, a gentle insistence that is really just an excuse to find a way to touch Deena again.
The radio starts playing “Do They Know It’s Christmas” and Simon makes a face, reaching for the frosting once more. “Okay but this song sucks, right?”
A chorus of agreement is quick to follow his question and Deena is nodding as she reaches out to help Sam add frosting to the foundation of their meager efforts to construct a gingerbread house. Once again, she’s close enough to Sam that it could be believably considered an accident if Sam were to turn her face and let her lips brush against Deena’s.
“You’ve got some frosting,” Deena says, studying Sam closely.
“Really?” Sam frowns, trying to figure out how she possibly managed that, all things considered. “Where?”
“Right,” Deena takes some of the frosting from their paltry house and swipes it across Sam’s cheek, “here.”
Sam’s noise of protest is quickly swallowed up when Deena closes the distance between them and kisses her and their gingerbread house sits crooked on the plate in front of them and Sam is woman enough to admit a lost cause when she sees one.

This is the anon from cartoonrival’s blog! What are your Sonic lore recommendations?
If you mean media through which to learn sonic lore, then I'd honestly recommend the wiki (Sonic News Network) first and foremost. There's a looootttt of different canons, different interpretations, etc etc and the wiki catalogues all of it! It's a much easier option than trying to play all the games and read all the comics and watch all the cartoons yatta yatta
If that is something you'd wanna do (or at least, some of it) then here are a few of my personal recommendations for some of the sonic lore (gameverse, again theres a lot of different media with its own canon so i'll just focus on gameverse for this ask)
Sonic Adventure: SA1 has a lot of focus on the ancient echidnas, Knuckles' tribe, and their history. If you were intrigued by what the movies did with them and wanted to see where a lot of that came from and how they are in the games, then I'd recommend playing through or watching a playthrough of Sonic Adventure!
Sonic Adventure 2: Personally my favorite sonic game. I cannot recommend this one enough, it has one of the best stories (imo) out of the whole franchise. Unfortunately the English localization is notoriously bad/muddles lots of plot details, and the channel that housed the Japanese cutscenes with faithful English subtitles recently got (completely unfairly) deleted. I think you'll be fine with the English cutscenes if you're just casually looking into this game's story, but if you want a better picture that's more clear/accurate (and have 2 hours to spare) then I highly recommend this video that goes over the entire story with an emphasis on the original Japanese version. SA2 is Shadow's debut appearance (and was originally supposed to be his only appearance), so if you're a Shadow fan and want to learn about his backstory + get a feel for his character (or just want to experience a super well-written story that gets pretty dark) then this is definitely one of the games you'll want to check out!!
^ (also its story in general outside of shadow is really good everyone is characterized really well and its very enjoyable - it's rouge's first appearance too if you want to see how she was originally as well!)
Sonic Unleashed: Personally I've never played Unleashed, but a lot of people really love it! It's got beautiful graphics, great soundtrack, and (relevant to this ask) it has some major worldbuilding which still appears to be canon today, concerning the planet Sonic and friends live on - and some ancient gods, you know how it is. (Oh and Werehog Sonic AKA God's greatest gift to humanity. he fluffy)s
Lastly, I'll recommend the IDW comics again cause why not. They take place in the same canon as the gameverse (although they're not canon to the games... assumedly) and build off of them. They're really good at bringing back things from older and more obscure games in a way that doesn't feel forced or confusing, so if you want something that has a little taste of everything then I'd once again say to check them out!
I know this isn't a lot, but "lore" is kind of hard to quantify. Every canon sonic game would technically count as "lore" I guess, since it's a new story installment, but I'm not gonna ask you to play/watch every single sonic game LOL. I tried to just pick stuff that focuses on things that happened in the past pre-sonic & friends since that's what comes to mind when I hear the word "lore"

I TOTALLY get it and I TOTALLY laughed out loud while reading this!
And I'll be honest, I really loved Sherlock BBC when it aired and I was totally obsessed for a long time but now I prefer Elementary. Sherlock and Joan are such a beautiful friendship and I don't think I've ever seen a man-woman friendship like that on screen. It was/ is just so unique. ( And Lucy Liu is gorgeous of course.)
Now that I think about it, I also don't read a lot of Sherstrade fics by other people. I do read a lot of other things, like Marvel and Stranger Things and some other pairing in the Sherlock BBC fandom but Sherstrade almost never anymore. I kinda prefer to write them, I think. 😂

I REALLY loved BBC Sherlock too but after the honestly terrible fourth season I walked away completely, like, thanks but no thanks for butchering those characters?? And I know, I know, its THEIR characters which means however the producers of the show chose to take their arcs means its canon and therefore in character but.... it sucked.
I DID start watching Elementary, I thought it was a really good take on the standard story. I liked how they didn't shy away from his addictions and issues, how Joan was a really amazing (and lets face it, stunningly beautiful) counterpart to Sherlocks utter bullshit.
The thing is, I'll always watch any version of Sherlock Holmes except whatever the fuck Will Ferrell tried to do a few years ago? I cannot stand him or 99.9% of his movies and having arguably one of the best stories out there be dragged through the bullshit that it is his sense of humour was full on offensive lol like I saw the preview and was instantly so mad about it?? An over reaction on my part, yes, but I stand by it!
Yeah, I can't read in any fandom/pairing I'm currently writing in. ST is sort of the exception only because I started writing for it BEFORE I started reading fics? So I wrote what I thought would be two quick one shots (Rest and Risk) and then jumped into reading and devoured whatever I could... then started writing again so I'm back to only very rarely reading!
And I don't read in Marvel at all anymore, even though I'm switching fandoms. I've written so much for Marvel that now my version of the characters are the only ones I like (oops!) so honestly, I'm probably done reading there too.
Dunno what I'll do when ST is over and I don't have an active fandom to write for anymore.. jump in a lake I guess

first impression: ok full disclosure i did NOT like saw the first time i saw it LOL. i thought adam was annoying and the bathroom was yucky and it was too slow paced. BUT i did like amanda she was like the redeeming quality to me. and once i watched saw ii i was completely sucked in she was everything to me. the way she claws at her face when she first wakes up like shes expecting the bear trap is such an acting moment of all time.
impression now: i love her so much shes the best apprentice her character is everything to me. i dont know what to say that hasnt been said before but i guess my most recent impression of her was in saw x and i just felt like her character, at the state in between saw and saw ii, was so well written. like her dependence on john but her reluctance to hurt people who she doesnt think fully deserve it... god... you can see the doubts starting to form like why are we doing this am i fixed is this what being fixed feels like... and shes so so scared of losing him... godddd. god. and her dykey outfit... i had some issues w saw x amanda was not one of them
favorite moment: DIFFICULT QUESTION hmmm all her moments r so good. i think the one that makes me craziest is i forget the exact line but in saw iii she tells lynn smth like "sure u can kill me but when john heres me cry out hell come running for me and rip off his heart monitor and then ull die" but later when shes bleeding out she looks up at john and reaches out for him and he just looks down at her and tells her its her destiny. COMPLETELY FUCKED. also obviously "fix me" and you know what can i just list all of saw iii as my favorite moment.
idea for a story: god. ok. like actual film wise i think we should move on from john kramer forever and honestly like over the course of the 4 movies shes in weve gotten a pretty good look at amandas character like it feels like theres limited room to fit in a new story. theres small things id like to see, more of her interacting and butting heads w the othe apprentices, but nothing like huge within canon bc i feel like it would throw off her arc. that being said idk how it would fit into a film but i would like to see her almost relapse post saw ii but discover that shes developed a fear of needles and instead of taking this as like. a fucked up thing. she tries to reframe it as like proof that traps work like she Is Fixed. but obviously this is right before saw iii and shes wavering but shes trying to tell herself that. developing ptsd over being thrown into a pit of needles. was a good thing<3
unpopular opinion: i dont rlly ship her and gabriela i see gabriela very much as a mirror of amanda but i dont rlly think its valuable or interesting to interpret that relationship as romantic SORRY
favorite relationship: ive said it before she and lynn have the craziest chemistry of any couple in all the saw movies like what was in the water on set that made them act that way... my only wish is that more fans made them insane rather then like. in lynn lives aus where theyre cute and healing together like no. they wouldnt do that. and then of relationships in canon obviously her and john have the most interesting and tragic thing going on (to be clear i dont mean relationships as in romantic here) but if i think about that too long ill start crying so instead lets just remember her and lynns crazy dyke swag.
favorite headcanon: oughh god idk... shes such a complete and basically perfect character to me i dont have a lot of big ideas about her outside of whats shown... like i said i think she has a phobia of needles after saw ii that she pushes through for the sake of traps that require it and then immediately goes and like throws up after. i think she bites her hand when shes really angry and sometimes draws blood. i think it reminds her of the beartrap and i think she pretends that gives her comfort. and i think at some point pre saw she dated the same vegan feminist punk that adam did<3

Being a novice journalist and working as Eddie’s rookie would include;;

You both met through Lewis. Obviously.
You were applying for a job, but considering Lewis knew you from one of the cases he took on back in his reporter days at your college, you didn’t need to do much- just hand him your portfolio and be on your way
It wasn’t that simple.
Eddie, in all his glorious self, was sprawled on the office chair, feet propped on his boss’ desk, when you went in
Lewis introduced you to your new mentor-slash-partner, and immediately you recognized him
Squeaking fan noises ensued (“Oh my god you’re internet famous” “I can’t believe I’m meeting you right now, holy shit” “You took down like five corporate companies through your reporting,, dude you’re a legend”)
Not long after the ten minute rant about the few pieces Eddie had done on food market conspiracies, you were both oh-so-generously gifted a case where three people had gone missing.
Being investigative reporters, (self-proclaimed but still) the two of you decided to go do some digging
You both stayed up all night at the office, neck deep in takeout and case files
It continued like this for a few weeks
You and Eddie became friends pretty quickly
In the mornings, you were in charge of fuel- you got coffee. Black with three sugars for Eddie, double double for you. Eddie was in charge of sustenance, namely from the doughnut shop he lived extremely close to.
You despised his motorcycle, only because it wasn’t necessarily a two-seater and you were a little extremely paranoid that you’d tumble off the back and be left behind
Nonetheless, that bike was kinda sexy, you weren’t gonna lie

You refused to be in the shots for his actual videos. A few times he insisted and you awkwardly sat there, pen and pad in hand, staring into the lens like a deer in headlights
All the same, it was a literal honour to work alongside him
Conspiracists and skeptics adored him
Not that you were one of them, really, you just thought he was badass
That is, until the incident with Carlton Drake
“I don’t understand why we have to pretend like he’s a good guy, Y/N.” “Because we want to keep our jobs.” “But people deserve to know! He’s taking people off the street and killing them. You can’t tell me to act like he’s doing good things for this country.” “Eat your McMuffin and be quiet, I’m not arguing over this.”
You tried your best to convince him to shut up about the missing persons cases that seemed to be linked with Carlton, but Eddie Brock is NOT a quitter and of course, that led to the both of you being dragged out of the Life Foundation
Which also led to you both losing your jobs.
He didn’t understand exactly why you had to be let off, cause you kept your mouth shut the entire interview
“They didn’t even do anything! Why the fuck are they getting let go? Lewis, c’mon. I understand kicking me off the crew but Y/L/N doesn’t deserve to be dragged down cause of me.” “Eddie, they’re guilty by association. Carlton wants everyone involved laid off. I can’t control that.”
Of course, you mocked him for being such a humanitarian for standing up for you, but you felt terrible about it after seeing Anne give back her ring
The two of you drifted apart.
Skip to six months later,,
You’d gotten a new job at a TV newscast place, as an assistant/intern
It wasn’t much, but it paid the rent.
Oddly enough, you ran into Eddie a few months later in Mrs. Chen’s store. It was the closest convenience store to your apartment, but you’d never seen Eddie around there before.
(It was definitely not awkward up in this bitch)
“Hey, Eddie.” “Uh, hey Y/N.” You’d looked at your feet before meeting his eyes once again. “How are you?” You’d asked, with a lot of sympathy, and a touch of pity. He didn’t look like he was doing well, but hey- everyone hits rock bottom, right? “Fine. Fine, yeah- Just searching for another place to work right now, but I’m getting by.”
Your heart was stuck in your throat. Nostalgia was what you were feeling.
Slowly, you two started talking again
Late night movie marathons (that you told yourself were entirely platonic and not at all stay-at-home dates) were your favourite loneliness cures
When Dr. Skirth hit him the fuck up, guess who was there to talk him into trying to do good and check it out
Cause if she was lying, and there was literally nothing there, what could it hurt? Carlton already made his job go bye-bye and his fiancee too so there’s not much left to take from him
Thanks to you, he literally just went for it
Its was like 4AM when he did
Fuckin hell?? That man does NOT sleep
When it was a decent time for a human being to actually be awake, you called Eddie to see how it went but you were surprised to see the line busy
(At that point he was at home calling Skirth but uh)
He usually prioritized your calls so you decided to go and check things out

“Eddie?” You’d called. He was passed out in the tub.
You tried to shake him awake but he was knocked the fuck out and refused to open his eyes
Whatever the hell happened there, you refused to mess with it
You swept up a bit of the tater tot fiasco but you were about to be late for work so you bolted
The next day you were called up by Anne
How the raging frick she got your number was an absolute mystery to you

Kisame Headcanons

Very polite, mhm.
This is kind of canonical, but I just wanna emphasize how polite Mr. Hoshigaki is. He will kick your ass in training and then tell you to have a good day and genuinely mean it.
He’s also just not very judgmental, which is probably due to how he was raised.
I headcanon that Kisame had a very country, almost hilly-billy like family. In canon, there are no Hoshigaki names on memorials in his village; they’ve been expunged. I don’t know why but that’s some Hatfield-McCoy type shit. The Hoshigakis were menaces to society for no particular reason, and Kisame just had to go with the family.
After seeing what he’s seen, yeah Kisame is not judging you at all.
Talks to Samehada and knows its responses like the back of his hand.
I think the bond to Samehada and its user works similarly to Venom and Eddie Brock.
That shit is a symbiote and you cannot change my mind.
A FULLY SENTIENT SWORD?? THAT HAS FOOD TASTE PREFERENCES??? yeaaaaahhh your honor, that’s a symbiote.
Sometimes, who Kisame trains with is dependent on what chakra Samehada has a taste for that day. Kisame definitely soils her. Talks to her like a dog when no one is looking.
Itachi has seen it. He says nothing, but he think it’s cute.
Because of the bond between him and Samehada, I think Kisame can kind of taste chakra, too. He’s been bonded to the sword so many times that he has some of its powers even when not formally bonded together.
Kisame can swim, but he can’t fish.
It makes no sense, but Kisame is terrible at fishing. He isn’t all that patient, and sedentary activities like that don’t strike his fancy all that much.
Itachi is convinced that sometimes Kisame scares the fish away on purpose.
As for swimming, Kisame, of course, is a strong swimmer, but did you know that wasn’t always the case?
Kisame couldn’t swim all that well until he hit the ninja academy. I definitely think his family just chucked him into the water, and poor baby was pretty sure he was drowning until he remembered his gills.
I think the “fussy, nervous kid growing up into a laid-back adult” trope is just funny, and it fits Kisame in my mind.

Again, pretty canonical, but one of Kisame’s favorite hobbies is starting shit.
The rest of the Akatsuki is sooooo used to hearing him pipe up,” You just gonna take that?” during an argument.
Itachi tries to get him to stop with one of his patented “Uchiha glares” but pouring fuel on a fire is too good for Kisame sometimes.
Besides, he doesn’t do it often. More of just messing around. The Akatsuki is really the first place Kisame has been more comfortable of being himself and not just a weapon or tool, so his personality really has a tendency to chime through when he finds something funny amongst the members.
In addition to this, Kisame also is very physical in a big-brother way. Very much will give Deidara a noogie. Is also the king of the shoulder-bump thing guys do when they pass you. Kisame is your annoying frat-brother confirmed.
To go with the above, Kisame has not had many friends.
He didn’t allow himself to have friends. Thought they were liabilities.
As such, even though Kisame will consider you a friend in his mind, he will be very independent.
This is because he still struggles with the “shinobi have no friends” mentality, and because he doesn’t want his friends to think he can’t handle himself.
To Kisame, if he isn’t firing at 500%, he isn’t good enough and other people will think that as well.
Pls tell him he’s good.

Yeah so I'm also here post-animation process video drop and your brilliant break-down about Bruno's belly. Hi! I’m not on Tumblr and hope you mind a long ask in lieu of reblogging/adding to your OP.
The confirmation has been validating, is one big thing. But is it weird that with regard to the three whats/whys in your break-down (artistic choice, chub, malnutrition), I was like “ah but couldn’t it be a little, or be some combo, of all three?" - said with an intonation à la Mirabel’s "and I think it's all because of me?" I think I'm a bit of the mind that his belly is round (and "disproportionate") more due to malnutrition than from having actual healthy adipose, based on its shape? and stuff, but that's probably me reading way too into things.
There's this other part of me that's also like, what are the chances that someone like Jared Bush, who does answer questions about the canon on his Twitter, would further confirm… or maybe not confirm per se, but shed a lil insight into some of the choices?
And and: have you been able to compare the 1st and final passes at the chase scene animation? I’m no artist, but I feel like I noticed a few differences between the two Brunos (using side-by-side screen grabs bc I am 100% Like That). Ex. when he’s running toward the camera and goes to leap for the pipe: in the 1st test his stomach actually looks larger than it does in the final test; and, in the final his chest/rib cage/sternum area... and kind of his whole frame tbh... look smaller and more... shrunken/visible. Which I’m sure makes sense since it’s the final version and stuff like the muscle rigging(?) gets tweaked, but I just found the changes interesting in light of your post, the discussion, and because process stuff is cool.
This is all over the place, sorry! Last thing I swear: I love your fic, WAACH - and your art! More and more with each chapter. Always so happy seeing a telltale alliterative title in an email from AO3 :)

I know nothing about professional 3D animation, but this difference really strikes me. It doesn't seem to serve the purpose of exaggerating the action (like stretch and squash, for example), so where -- and why -- did it go?

Here's my humble opinion on the matter in general:
I absolutely agree with your take, anon, and I think that it makes too much sense for it to not be canon. I believe Bruno is malnourished (as mentioned in my latest part of WAACH) in both meanings of the word. My fic works with the implications that Bruno had too little food (and that it wasn't of great nutritional value), as well as a diet with little variety.

Why Tommy is one of THE BEST written characters in existence.
Alright, that’s it
Here I give you my fuckin Take on why Tommy is one of the best written characters out there and can easily compete with best-selling Novels like Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. I’m sick of a trashing that doesn’t even make sense. So buckle up. Here I will tell you why Tommy has one of the best written characters in history of Books and Movies. Remember, I write this all in my perspective and take many examples of other character books as well
Before this all starts, I will also talk about the main characters of some series, since Tommy has the reputation of being a “main” character.
When I look at the books I’ve read, I see a large range of characters and there way of making the story interesting.
Now, to establish a good character, we need key points of motivations, to make them relatable and bla bla blub:
Personality
Part of the story
Their Powers
Flaws
Relationships
Prized Possessions
History/the backstory
The moral and story the character tells
First tho, I want to explain some words I’m going to use here!
Mary Sue/Gary Stu:
Those are characters who are flawless, have missing chunks of personality and mostly one way written. They are easy to achieve when you are trying to make your character look badass.
Examples in some Fandoms are
· Rey Skywalker (Star Wars Sequels 7-9)
· Hermione Granger (Harry Potter Movies)
· Bella Swan (Twilight)
Tree-System:
Imagine a tree.
You plant something small and soon you have something giant with many branches, roots and connections.
You have the seed you plant and with caring and care you let it grow. Then you have somewhat a sapling. The tree grows with the care and soon you have a tree with many branches.

Negative:
Tommy’s personality is very brash and out of control =
He’s barely containable in fights, going off to do his own risky plans and starting two or so fights. He can’t forgive a person very easily like Eret, who took it a long time to get forgiveness and Techno, as he shot Tubbo at the Festival. He makes decision that also cost his life like the duel because he hates losing
Tommy can be very lazy, giving the thought he wouldn’t have to do the hard work =
Shown when he tries to steal the hearts of seas from Eret or potions from Techno, bargain with “drugs” by Puffy and Ponk or gives other people the work he doesn’t want to do like he did with getting cobblestone
Like a child, he often clings to close people and annoys others for attention =
His desperate attempts to have company or someone praising him shows, when he tries to get Philza’s approval (or a pat on the back), constantly looking out, if Tubbo’s either okay or where his is,
He doesn’t like to wait or doing things in the long run =
He constantly asks when something is finished, when they could go or in his exile, when he was allowed to go back to L’Manburg
He doesn’t show often his cooled down, scared and vulnerable side =
He often overshadows his trauma with a facade of jokes and bad hidden hurt he brings out. When he talks about something bad, he’s clearly confused, not really knowing on how to understand it. Also he runs away from things he can’t control a panic attack like visiting the final control room or looking away from the holes in Logstedshire
He runs without head into a battle so often as possible =
Only when they had their final showdown for the disc, Tommy was seen preparing in story, thinking it would be his last fight

But as he has negative traits, his positive shows to many people clearly.
His unwavering loyalty to the closest of people =
His loyalty to Tubbo, Wilbur And L’Manburg are, were and always will be a part of him. He stands against anyone who goes against that, even if it means pain in many ways.
Passionate about dear projects of his =
You can see Tommy talking about his discs or see an video where he would spent days getting different discs. Those things are very known to be rare things, so for Tommy to possess it gives him somewhat power. L’Manburg was the same passion, even a bit more, as you can see he was ready to give up his most prized disk. The last and in the moment is his hotel
Bravery like no one makes him as one of the dangerous person on peoples hitlist =
He stands up for others. He stood up to L’Manburg. He in the end didn’t care that he lost a life. When he sees a foe, he won’t stand down and submit, he will fight against the oppression and tell them that in the face. During the mission to get a visa, he stood against Schlatt, even if they were clearly in the loose of people and disadvantage. Or getting an apology of Sapnap for killing Niki’s fox. Fighting against 5 people with just one ally while the other is a hostage.
His leadership =
There are not many people who can take it up, but Tommy is an exception. He can coordinate people with his loud voice and somewhat thought plans. He is charismatic, even if he’s not so good at it like Wilbur, he still can motivate people to fight for themselves or others. He’s seen to lead others into battle and taking in the fighting part a leading role
Unselfish. That’s one of the most arguable things about Tommy`s character =
You can´t look at a kid and say he is selfish because he wants to get something dearly back. Especially Tommy, after he gave the things up, he cared about. But if something is happening again, he will lay it down to do the other thing. As seen by the egg, he had a hard time thinking what to do. He, in a long time, didn’t want to be catalyst for something to happen. Not when he in the moment could have stopped it. So doing this act for himself ones, was a good decisions, since they clearly weren’t ready for war

Part of the Story
Outside of the story:
Let’s all just get something “straight”. What would Dream SMP without Tommyinnit.
Now. Don’t get me wrong. All the creators on the SMP are amazing. They are all wonderful and deserve every bit of Attention and fame they get. But just imagine.
We heard from Tubbo, he was the one, who got him into the SMP. Schlatt and Wilbur came because of a “visit”. Quackity was added because TOMMY said he was bored. And from that, we got somewhat of a tree system. As Tommy was invited and drawn into conflict by Sapnap (shoutout to best boy!), he got more people.
He also has the highest viewership and kind of shortest streams, since he is doing college next to Youtube and Streaming. He can’t give up his high viewers since all of those 200.000 (average) – closing 650.000 People (doing something like a big lore stream in prison or the disc final), choose to watch him.
Also a reminder again, Tommy has his storyline as does everyone else. When we saw Tommy and Techno during the partner up arc doing something with the dogs, they saw the start of the red vines arc BUT said they were on the wrong storyline. Tommy was asked by the eggpire writers if he wanted to be a part of the story and he said yes. Why do you think he nearly says nothing about the egg. He leaves it to the writers. Also, it was said by one of Wilbur’s Character descriptions, that Tommy was okay with others doing something with his character, while Techno was more reluctant with his.
Let me say it again, every creator is awesome and individual! Nobody should be compared to others. But with Tommy coming to the Dream SMP, there really was a change in the game.
Remember, that’s because we also have a BT (before Tommy) and AT (after Tommy) Timestamp in the wiki!
Inside of the story:
Now, with Sapnap, Alyssa, Ponk and Tommy in the first ever big conflict its shown the importance. People assume Tommy is one of the conflict bringers, even though he was dragged in it by having something stolen by Sapnap and then forced to fight with him, to get it back.
The Consequences he’s got where having his discs get stolen. This is what Tommy’s biggest character motivation was the first two seasons. Those discs are known on the server and when you think about gifting something to C!Tommy, it would be a disc.
Techno = Disc Wait
Badboyhalo = Disc Pigstep, Chirp
HBomb = Disc Pigstep, Wait
Tubbo = Stal
LazarBeam = Far
Tommy is a openminded boy who longs for funny little adventures and pranks, since he is just a young person. It’s in his nature.
So why, when he does something, are people looking on him?
Because the things he was and is a part of some of the biggest events. And him being so loud and brave and rash lets him stand out. If you look at the old (hah) Revolution of L’Manburg, who can you hear talking the most and the loudest? Tommy and Dream. They were the most outgoing about the war with Sapnap, Tubbo and Wilbur following. Fundy was more quieter (thankfully he has so much more lore now).
Tommy’s character is known to fall or be dragged head first in almost every conflict. He has connections to who? Mostly everybody. So of course he’s connected big parts to the stories.

Powers
Okay. Every “main” character or character with huge importance to the story has some kind of power. Looking at Dream, who is a “demigod” or Ranboo who I don’t even have to talk about. So what about Tommy?
Well. He doesn’t have any. Tommyinnit is one of the people, we get to have as an “human” character
Hannah = nature “Spirit”
Karl Jacobs = Timetraveller
Antfrost, Technoblade, Ranboo, Fundy = Hybrids
Dream = Something something green blob
Awesamdude, Puffy, Philza, Sapnap, Eret, Schlatt = Adding Features (wings, eyes, body parts)
Badboyhalo, Skeppy = completely different species apparently
Tommy has, as we know of the moment, a not confirmed power. The assumptions of the egg are not clear, since we haven’t seen those interact in a while. All we know is, Tommy didn’t get hurt, destroying a part and not feeling anything, while being in contact. That in canon considered.

Flaws
As talked before in personality and also in an assumption, we see the pattern of loyalty and brashness repeating.
Flaws are the most important parts of a character. It shows the struggle of their adventure and learning how to live with it.
Percy Jackson learned loyalty is nothing, if you don’t have someone to project it on.
Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker learned being a hot head didn’t really bring him forward and it’s important to have a plan
Frodo Beutlin learned that it is okay taking care of yourself and what attachment means
Anakin Skywalker learned fear is controllable and it shouldn’t be a remaining part of your life
Tommy learned over the time that his rashness could hurt others, loyalty couldn’t come back to him like he gave it out and he learns even more in the coming future.

Relationships
Tommy’s relationships is a mess of strings. Some are badly knotted and some are very clear.
A characters connections is an important part for the character himself.
Relationships in life are
· Enemies(-figure)
· Rivals(-figure)
· Friends(-figure)
· Family(-figure)
· Lover(-figure)
· Complicated family(-figure)
· Complicated friend (-figure)
Relationships are a part of everyone’s life. Not with everybody is a good relationship holdable. Either it’s because their hurting each other or another person. People change and that’s a part of life.
Tommy realized, even tho it hurt, that Techno wasn’t good for his mental state and health. It went against everything Tommy ever stood for.
And Tommy and Tubbo’s relationship wasn’t really that broken. It’s normal for friends to fight. Normal for them hit their heads in. Tommy and Tubbo were surrounded with people who were, at the time, a terrible addition to their mental life.
The Dream SMP doesn’t talk it out, hell the talking club was just destroyed because they preferred fists over words. So why do you think everything is going out with a fight, if it’s all they learned.

Priced Possessions
Every character has to something a connection.
Might it be Percy Jackson and his sword
Might it be Harry with his glasses, broomstick and wand
Frodo and his stupid ring
For Tommy we all know it’s his ender chest inside and secret chest. He keeps many belongings in his chests and always has been one for those things. He kept flowers, compasses, Friendship signs and most importantly, his discs.
The care for something of items are important. Might it be a teddy, old photo or jewelry. People get protective over it, because it holds sentimental value to the person.
If you ask me, to let go of my teddy bear, I will show you my middle finger. Probably beat you up too.
You can’t just throw out your memories into a fire or pit of lava. This is just showing you never had a care and everything you had a memory with it before would have been gone.

History/Backstory
We don’t have much here, but still something to work with.
A Hero doesn’t have an easy live. And it’s an said thing that every Hero needs an origin Story.
Tommy, said not really anything about his past.
All we know is that Tommy didn’t have anyone, presumably an Orphan, he knew the sleepy bois already a long time ago and he never learned on how to ride a bike, saying he never really had a family.
Signs that he didn’t even leave half a good life are:
· his knowledge on stealing and preferring this over working for it
· Liking to live in weird spaces like carved out holes in sides of hills (his hobbit hole or the basement by Techno) or living in his tent over a hole house
· His liking of cobblestone and dirt, which are easy gettable blocks
· Holding his goodies and friends close to him
· Craving for attention or contact in general
And now for the part with the dream SMP.
We saw how it changed him. We saw his trauma and all the bad things that happened to him.
And that’s why we say his actions came from those past experiences and things. We are NOT excusing them, but showing. Past trauma CHANGES a person. It brings experience and a heavy amount of pain and anger. ESPECIALLY at a young age, you will change due to your experience in life. You will grow worried and anxious. Tommy did that. He grew more anxious, angry, scared and also experienced.
Stop saying trauma doesn’t explain it. Yes. It does. His lashing out came from his past and negative experience. Imagine growing up in a world where this is the norm. War and banishing. As well as death. Tommy has reasons why he is acting and does stuff.
Understand it. You don’t have to forgive him or anything. But understand it.

The moral and the story the character tells us
When we see Tommy, we see a boy who went nearly through it all. Mental/Physical Abuse, Abandonment, War, Suicidal thoughts, betrayal, Death, etc…
He doesn’t show forgiveness for his abuser. Still has signs, that he fights with the past abuse, but he tells us a story of learning from past mistakes, that even in the darkest hours, there’s a way out. Things will, can and be ugly and those are dark hours, but in no way should you think that it’s over. Life is more than one way and can always turn into a new direction.
Life takes something old away from you. Life gives you something new. You lose someone, you find someone new. Friends can turn into enemies. Enemies can turn into friends. You can meet the weirdest people. You can meet the most amazing people. You can be alone and in the next second, you’re not. You will often lose, but you also can win if you give everything.
Life can be weird and that’s okay.

My Fazit (that’s german)
The thing is, he is very real for many viewers such as myself. He acts like how many teenagers his age reacts.
He doesn’t be “baby”, because he shows the “ugly” sides of trauma. He shows that attachments are good and you shouldn’t forgive your abuser. In no way. He shows that acting out and lashing out are two things that happen, when you have been in wars for many times and nearly just know that.
He has many flaws and mistakes but those make him even more real. He is showing how he is growing.
As a person, friend, (pseudo-)family.
He is real to many of the viewer since he doesn’t have any powers that are existing in our world to solve their problems. He knows that nobody would have helped him and Tubbo against Dream if he didn’t pay others.
Also that you can’t be friends with everyone and that it’s okay that not everybody likes you.
Tommy´s character is the most human and realistic character in a way of how we would react. We are humans who are lashing out and who are having ugly sides.
And also please stop saying that, since I really can relate to Tommy and I don’t want to be feeling like a “bad-written Character”…
And Don’t even get me started on Tommy’s acting dude!
He is one of the best actors and that one livestreams! In from off 200.000 – 600.000 People!
On the face cam alone is so much to see…
· You can see his face with each emotion shifting,
· when something funnily weird happens, he looks dead eyes in the camera
The voice acting…
· His breathing,
· the stuttering in his voice,
· THE GODDAMN EMOTIONS IN HIS FACE
