Really hate the rhetoric that gen z is a super accepting and progressive generation.

I’m sat in my common right now, and in the past, 5 minutes? The F slur has been yelled too many fucking times. And then people joke it’s bad and laugh and keep saying it.

I don’t feel safe, my entire body feels gross every time they say it.

I’m going home for lunch and then coming back in for my lesson.

We are not any better than the previous generations. We claim we are sure. And maybe as a whole we are more progressive.

I see it on social media all the time. How we are the new progressive generation. The one who will fix things. Who will give us hope. The good generation.

We are not good. We live in a bubble, an echo chamber. Constantly hearing the same opinions of those like us, online, in media, in real life. So I think we tend to be shocked when we meet people our age who doesn’t match our ideas of what we are.

We’re not as good as the older generations, we’ve just convinced ourselves we are.

But I don’t think this is damning? I don’t feel as if we’re doomed. It just makes me want to push back, to fight harder, so that we can at least try and make the world better for the next generation.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
